A is for affordability. We are talking about the White House's new focus on affordability for the American people, the latest on the Jeffrey Epstein files, and a major climate hypocrisy conference in South America. All of that and so much more today on 10 Minute Drill. Everybody get up. Get up.
Donald Trump
The story of America is the story of an adventure.
Political Analyst
I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you. We are a nation under God, and I believe God intended for us to be free.

Last night, President Trump gave a speech taking on what will likely be the most important issue ahead of the midterms next year.
Donald Trump
Biden's prices and his hikes cost a typical American family an estimated $33,000 and hit your workers and your customers and your small businesses very, very hard. The Biden administration started the affordability crisis and my administration is ending it.
Podcast Host
Now President Trump is trying to highlight the fact that one, inflation under President Trump is significantly better than it was under Joe Biden.
Political Analyst
For the first year of Trump versus Biden, Biden overall inflation was up 4.3%, higher than Trump, just up 1.6%. Groceries under Biden in that time up 3.8% with Trump up 1.3. And then when it comes to gas, this is crazy. Biden up 24.4%. With Trump, it is actually down 5.4%.
Podcast Host
Now, President Trump also has a point here because it does feel like on January 20th or so, Democrats learned a new word, affordability. And before that, for four years they had downplayed the issue. They had said that inflation was first non existent, then, then they said it was transitory. Then they said it is a high class problem, all while running up the country's credit card on green boondoggles with funding that largely went back to their political donors at solar and wind companies. So now the fact that President Trump is in office, we have a well.
Political Analyst
Well, well, how the turntables as we.

Showed that clip showing that inflation is better, we can't deny the fact that polling shows that people are concerned about cost of living, which is why it's good that President Trump is doing the opposite of what Joe Biden did and taking this on head on. On groceries, for example, President Trump has already announced plans to adjust his tariffs on a number of food items that people have to buy in grocery stores every day. On issues like health care, he's talking about things like health care, price transparency. Newt Gingrich had a fantastic op ed in foxnews.com about the rule that understanding the prices we pay for things in health care leading to actually lowering prices and making health care more, more affordable so that we're not continuously throwing more good money after bad. Americans are tired of working harder for less while the cost of everything from housing to education to insurance keeps rising. The affordability crisis touches every household and its biggest driver is the one Washington refuses to tackle seriously, health care. The third thing that I would highlight that the Trump administration is focusing on with regard to affordability is cutting down on regulations.
Donald Trump
In red tape, we slash more than $1 trillion worth of regulations burdens on the US economy.
Podcast Host
We whether it's to build housing or whether it's to support a small business or build a new enterprise over the last four years, Democrats said yes to more costly, burdensome regulations in that four year period than any other president in about five decades. That has made everything in America more expensive because the cost of that gets passed down whether again it's building housing or whether it's growing food. The Democrats made it too expensive to do literally anything in America through their overreaching rules and red tape. Later today, the House of Representatives is expected to vote on a bill that would force the release of all the files related to Jeffrey Epstein. Here's President Trump yesterday on that deflect.
Donald Trump
From the great job we've done. So I'm all for it. You know we've already given 50,000 pages.

You do know that over the last several weeks this has been a very fraught political football with people saying this is a smoking gun that's going to hurt President Trump and destroy his presidency, other people saying there's nothing to see here. My perspective is sunlight is the best disinfectant. President Trump saying release it all is the best way to move on from this fairly quickly. Especially cuz most people believe if there was a smoking gun in there related to President Trump, Democrats would have released it anytime over the last four years when they had the power to. So we will track this as it comes. But again, I think that to President Trump's point, they have already covered all of his involvement fair extensively. Meanwhile, emails also reveal that in 2019, House Democrat Stacy Plaskett, a non voting member of the House of Representatives representing the Virgin Islands, exchanged text messages with Jeffrey Epstein talking specifically about how to get ahead of Trump. Which highlights this quirky dynamic we've seen over the last few weeks of Democrats in the media having a strange new respect for Jeffrey Epstein, even posthumously. If anything that he has said about Trump could help them finally overcome Trump and beat him in some way for Example, Occupy Democrats tweeted. Epstein may have been an evil predator, but he was a perceptive judge of character. When your political cause leads you to praise someone like serial pedophile, evil scum of the earth Jeffrey Epstein, you may have gone a little bit too far. Democrats. Last week we talked about the COP Summit, a climate alarmism summit held in Brazil where leaders from all around the world got together to talk about how they could drive up energy costs for their constituents in service of climate alarmism. Virtue signaling Gavin Newsom was there over the weekend. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse also had the opportunity to attend.
Sheldon Whitehouse
Folks are really glad that the Trump administration is here because they just screw things up and a lot of progress is being made without them. But we're also losing a lot of.
Podcast Host
Ground as a country now, as Sheldon Whitehouse says, progress is being made. I would love to know what that means because they have no power to do anything. So basically they're getting together and making agreements, many of which violate antitrust rules for driving anti competitive behavior. What does that progress look like? It certainly doesn't look like progress in helping the area of Brazil where, where this summit was held because there were a number of things that were done that should stand in stark contrast to the missions of the climate alarmism movement. First, they flattened a massive portion of the Amazon rainforest to build a four lane freeway for attendees to attend this conference. That summit was powered by diesel generators. When fancy attendees found that the hotel accommodations nearby in Brazil weren't nice enough, the government of Brazil commissioned two major cruise cruise ships to house 10,000 attendees. Those cruise ships were powered by, you guessed it, not wind, not solar, but marine grade diesel. Lest we forget as well that the Amazon rainforest is home to an EV battery factory that was used to build the exact F150 Lightning that Joe Biden drove in a White House EV event. That battery factory has poisoned a village in the Amazon. So in so many ways this conference is the perfect representation of the climate alarm as a movement where there are trade offs like let's burn down the Amazon to hold a conference to talk about climate. It highlights the fact that the climate alarmism movement in the classic environmental preservation movement are not aligned. The climate alarmism movement is focused first and foremost on driving funding to green technology, much of which the attendees of these conferences and the NGOs and groups that are involved with are heavily invested in. The climate alarmism movement is focused primarily on wealth transfer, which is highlighted in no way better than the fact that Sheldon Whitehouse's wife works for a Climate alarmism ngo. Last week the New York Times had a bombshell about the Democrat National Committee. The DNC ordered workers back to the office. Its union isn't pleased. Now you might find it a little bit surprising that in the year of our Lord 2025, there are still news stories about people being mad about going back to working in person. But this is a group of professional Democrats. So if any group was going to have an uproar over that, this would be them concentrated in one place. The union called it callous and shocking. There was a flurry of thumbs down emojis and other online expressions of discontent. They added, this change feels especially callous considering the current economic conditions created by the Trump administration. So you have to ask, when would these Democrats ever feel comfortable going back into an office, if not four years past the pandemic? I for one say past the popcorn for you can't make it up segment. Today we are going to an all time favorite, Kamala Harris and a soundbite from her ongoing book tour that is just a an absolute fire hose of gold content for people like myself.
Kamala Harris
Part of his strategy and those around him was to try and take me off our game and message. And I wasn't about to be distracted by those little, those flames that he was trying to throw. And that's so I was, I understood the game that was being played and I made a decision that I wasn't gonna get play. And chess, not checkers. Got it?
Donald Trump
Chess, not checkers. Yeah.
Kamala Harris
Three dimensional chess.
Podcast Host
I'm telling you first, first, lots to unpack here. Three dimensional chess is just chess. All of chess is three dimensional. She's thinking of either 4D or 5D chess, which is something that people jokingly say online when someone acts like they've got a major strategy that they don't have, which is in many a perfect representation of the Harris campaign. But I also really enjoy her saying she wasn't gonna get sucked into the trap or play the games that President Trump is playing. Chess versus checkers, things like that. Because what would it have looked like if she had taken the bait or played the game? She says she was focused on her game and on her message and she wouldn't get thrown off from that. But she lost every single swing state and she lost the popular vote. So like, could it have been worse if she did take the bait? Could it have been worse if she did? As I watch so many of these interviews, I can only come to the conclusion that there are certain days where Kamala Harris doesn't remember the fact that she lost this election. All I can say is I hope that this tour never ends. That is all the time we have for today. Thank you so much for joining us on 10 minute drill. Episode: A Is for Affordability: Trump’s Plan, Epstein Files Vote, Climate Summit Hypocrisy & Kamala’s “3D Chess”
Host: Matt Whitlock
Release Date: November 18, 2025
This episode of 10 Minute Drill delivers a brisk rundown on four major political stories: President Trump’s new push for affordability, the looming House vote on the Jeffrey Epstein files, hypocrisy at a South American climate summit, and Kamala Harris’s “3D chess” moment on her book tour. Host Matt Whitlock combines key news updates with biting commentary and memorable soundbites, keeping the energy light, fast, and often irreverent.
Main theme: Whitlock opens by highlighting Trump’s new focus on affordability, presented as the defining issue for the coming midterms.
Comparison with Biden: Trump and a guest analyst make the case that inflation and cost-of-living increases were less severe during Trump’s previous term, putting Democrats on the defensive.
Donald Trump:
“Biden's prices and his hikes cost a typical American family an estimated $33,000 and hit your workers and your customers and your small businesses very, very hard... My administration is ending it.” (00:42)
Political Analyst:
“For the first year of Trump versus Biden, Biden overall inflation was up 4.3%... groceries under Biden up 3.8%, with Trump up 1.3%. Gas: Biden up 24.4%, Trump down 5.4%.” (01:08)
Critique of Democrats: Whitlock mocks Democrats for suddenly adopting “affordability” as a priority, noting their previous minimization of inflation and focus on green energy spending.
Policy specifics: Trump proposes reducing tariffs on key groceries, promoting healthcare price transparency (citing Newt Gingrich), and further slashing regulations to curb costs.
Congressional vote: The House is expected to vote on releasing all Jeffrey Epstein files, intensifying political controversy.
Media and political dynamics: Whitlock describes the Epstein affair as a political football, observing that Democrats had ample opportunity to release damaging info earlier if it existed.
Democrats’ contradictory stance: The segment highlights leaked communications between Epstein and House Democrat Stacy Plaskett, as well as conflicting public statements on Epstein.
Coverage of COP Summit in Brazil: Whitlock skewers the event as an example of environmental hypocrisy, citing eco-unfriendly logistics:
Critique of climate alarmism: The movement is painted as self-serving and focused on wealth transfer rather than real preservation.
DNC “return to office” news: New York Times reports that required office return has sparked backlash from DNC unionized workers, who blame Trump-era economic conditions.
“You might find it a little bit surprising... in the year of our Lord 2025, there are still news stories about people being mad about going back to working in person... So if any group was going to have an uproar over that, this would be them.” (08:55)
“This change feels especially callous considering the current economic conditions created by the Trump administration.” (09:12)
Book tour soundbite: Harris describes her political strategy as “chess, not checkers... three dimensional chess.”
Host commentary: Whitlock lampoons the phrase, noting that all chess is “three dimensional”, and joking that Harris’s 2024 loss makes her strategic talk especially ironic.
Whitlock’s delivery blends political analysis with sharp sarcasm and frequent ad-libs, maintaining a light, playful tone despite serious subject matter. The episode’s brisk pace and strong POV (“past the popcorn for you can’t make it up segment”) make for a highly digestible and entertaining political news recap.
