After a lot of back and forth over the weekend between Iran, who was bombing tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, the United States, who was bombing back, and then Iran bombing US Air personnel in Bahrain and other places, the US And Iran on Sunday agreed to cease fire and set new talks on Tuesday to talk about our ongoing relationship issues, particularly regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

President Trump posted to Truth Social saying the Iranians requested a meeting and that meeting will take place tomorrow in Doha. After two days of exchanges of fire between the United States and Iran over the weekend. It all started late last week when Iran targeted vessels in the Strait of Hormuz with one way attack drones. The US Responded with strikes in southwestern Iran. Well, when the Iranians attacked yet another oil tanker, the US Ramped up those strikes, going after Iranian military surveillance, infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and mine laying capabilities.

The challenge right now for the Trump administration is Iran is doing what Iran does best, run out the clock and make it seem like they're willing to come to the table to buy more time to stop you from bombing them. And then they continue to attack the Strait of Hormuz and continue to tell their hardliners inside their country and everyone around the region they're in control of the Strait. And they're waiting for President Trump to continue just giving in and giving in and giving in. And so we'll see if this last flap has any new change in posture as things go forward. We've been talking a lot about the Democrat civil war, particularly between these so called Democrat socialists and the rank and file Democrats, many of whom are very far left, very progressive. But the biggest difference between them is the posture they have about Israel. We talked yesterday about California's Scott Wiener, the Democrat who was chased down the street for not having a strong enough posture against Israel in the situation in Gaza, even though Weiner has said he believes that Israel is carrying out a genocide, all the things they want him to say and on Top of the fact that as we talked about yesterday, he's one of the most extreme Democrats in the country on LGBT issues. He wants to be able to trans kids. He wants to be able to take children away from their parents if even under the age of 18 they want to identify as a different gender. All of these crazy policies and he's being chased around. On Sunday, a number of Democrats tried to explain that the Democrat socialist takeover is just a part of a big tent party.

I want us to be a big tent party. I mean, I've been saying this for years, that it's actually a sign of a party that is alive and growing.

We are a big tent party focused

on the ordinary concerns of everyday Americans.

But are you a big tent party if you are now revolving around a single issue? You are throwing out incumbents based on a single issue. You are chasing down your farthest left leaders based on this single issue of Israel. And you know the energy that the activist base of the Democrat socialists has about every everything anti Semitic. These new elected Democrats led campus protests to try and threaten Jewish students on campus. This is the new Democrat Party. One issue we've talked quite a bit about is the open banking rule in which big banks want to get the Trump administration to add new fees to any kind of online transactions. We do. The Trump administration's gone back and forth a little bit saying we would never do that. It would be terrible for innovation, it would kill crypto, it would hurt all these other things we're trying to do. But the rumor of the last few months is they've agreed to move the banks direction a little bit on this and add in fees for transactions. And so that would be a really big problem. And a lot of news over the weekend broke on this, leading to a series of interesting memes about what this might look like if the Trump administration allows Jamie Dimon to ration our data. Please, sir, Jamie Dimon, may I please have access to my own financial data? Then of course, this the classic Oregon trail game, attempting to purchase item data required.
Reporter
Jamie Dimon has rationed your data.

You have died of dysentery. We're expecting to hear a final rule in the next few weeks on this. And there's a lot of hope that the Trump administration will not give in to these far left big banks who use their power at every opportunity to push their political agendas and in this case, simply want to strengthen their own bottom lines by adding in these fees for consumers. So The Gavin Newsom 2028 campaign has been off to A rocky start. It hasn't really gone particularly well. And one reason is G isn't really an innovator or a trailblazer or a leader. He's a follower. And we saw that again just over the weekend when he talked about his vision for a national billionaire's tax.
Co-host
It's time for a national billionaires tax and a new social contract. Think about this. Just 10% of people, 10% of people in this country own 2/3 of the wealth.
Host
Now you'll note there that Gavin is following the lead of the Democrat socialists and talking about wealth as if it's something that the government can own or simply take control of. In his own state. Gavin has fought against their billionaires tax because he knows it's driving wealth out of the state. But he's seeing where the energy is in his party and this is his reaction to it. Another major Gavin policy that's causing absolute destruction in the state of California was written about just a few days ago. This from the deep background substack the hidden California tax on everything you buy. One obscure regulatory waiver could cost Americans billions. Congress can repeal it. The 2020 at birth regulation requires cargo ships, tankers and container vessels docked at California ports to shut down their diesel engines and either pl into the state's already strained electrical electrical grid or use emission reducing technology. Non compliance carries up to a 50,000 per day penalty. California's already collected tens of millions of dollars in such penalty payments since 2025 as a result of ships who lack the required technology and are forced to pay into the state's remediation fund. We talked before about California's insane regulations on things that required, for example, for California to import oil and gas ships had to go all the way down to, you know, the Virgin Islands and back in order to do that. In this case they have insane about oil tankers to try and bilk more money from energy companies. And it's driving up the cost of everything. And part of what's interesting about this is Congress could repeal this. Under the Clean Air act there are minimum standards for policies like this. The Biden administration gave California a series of waivers to allow them to go even further than what is allowed in the national standard. And this is an example of that. And so Congress can pass a Congressional Review act measure to repeal this and the EPA can grant that waiver to get rid of this terrible cost driving policy. And so we'll watch this really close and see where this goes. But again, it's another example of Dems getting really creative to drive up your everyday cost of living to advance their own sort of crazy far left rainbows and unicorns policy goals. I want to talk a little bit more about the San Francisco Giants. I had the opportunity last week to go to a game when I was at home. I'm not a boycott person. So even though I've been frustrated with the MLB and even the way the organization has handled this, I still wanted to go. But it's been fascinating to see the fallout. Look at some of these tweets attacking the president of baseball operations, Buster Posey for not going further. And then you have people like Susan Slusser tweeting about how the Giants haven't gone far enough. Someone even asked Slusser if she thought the Giants would have trouble bringing in players because of how far left the organization has been and how they've treated these players who simply wrote scriptures on their hats. She said bigoted players may not want to come here.

I mean, bigoted free agents maybe, I guess.

Let me remind you what actually happened here. This wasn't just, you know, Giants being asked to wear trans flags on their hats. Two other things happened that I think are important. First, the Giants held vowel renewal ceremonies for same sex couples on the field between warmups in the game. This is they're performing gay marriages on the baseball field before they play baseball. Then after that they had a fireworks show that was hosted by a drag queen named Peaches Christ. And then they, of course they had the players wear trans flags on their uniform. The only thing these players did was write a scripture on their hat to show I'm a Christian. I'm not necessarily on board with all of this agenda. All they did, they didn't complain about Pride Night, complain about Peaches Christ or anything like that. And yet the San Francisco sports media is out for blood. When I went to the game, there were two people outside holding signs saying, we're disappointed with the hate from the Giants. But that was it. And the media covered it like there was a massive protest. So the sports media and the far left dark money groups that are behind most of the Pride Day activities around the country are out for blood because they want to make an example of these players. So nobody else ever tries to speak up or show any kind of contrast on Pride Night again. And it is devastating. We have a ton of fun stories we're going to cover this week. We'll do episodes every day, so if you think we've missed something, leave us a comment. We'll make sure to get to it. But for our you can't make it up segment today, I want to highlight a fan of James Talarico who had a phenomenal remark at a rally when

We're all gay tofu eating vegans. We're all gay tofu eating vegans. Now I have suggested to the RNC that they pay to create T shirts that say that to give out at Talarico rallies and events all over the state so people know exactly where James Talarico and his campaign stands on this. That is all the time we have for today. Thank you for joining us. Please like subscribe, leave us a review, tell your friends and we will be back tomorrow from our studio. I'll be finished traveling for our Wednesday after episode. Have a great day.
