Unpacking President Trump's trip to China and what he brought back in terms of commitments and deals. Is this the week where we finally resume armed conflict with Iran, or is there going to be some kind of peace deal negotiation? Kamala Harris proposes a no bad ideas brainstorm. We're going to look at Democrats next steps on redistricting and so many more things in a very Special Monday rundown. 10 minute drill.

On Friday, President Trump returned from China. There's a lot of discussion about what he brought back. There's some reporting of a potential deal in which we reduce tariffs on China and in turn, they're going to buy a number of agricultural products, including Soybeans and potentially 200 Boeing jets. The proof will be in the pudding. But the big takeaway for the Trump administration was China's acknowledgment that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. President Trump also said that China has agreed to not supply Iran with any weapons as America considers whether or not to reengage with armed conflict. Now, one topic that China spoke about quite a bit was Taiwan. There's two big reasons that I believe Xi made Taiwan a centerpiece of their readout. First, President Trump has supplied more arms to Taiwan than any other president in history. But all also, the night before their big summit, Marco Rubio, Secretary of State, went on TV and laid out a tough agenda for their conversation, including the fact that the United States would not be changing their posture on Taiwan. President Trump has embraced the long held principle of strategic ambiguity. So we will see where this goes, but the proof will be in the pudding. President Xi's word is not very good to anybody, but we will wait and see what comes of these meetings. President Trump is once again fed up with Iran. He posted on Truth Social. For Iran, the clock is ticking and they better get moving fast or there won't be anything left of them. Time is of the essence. Lindsey Graham went on TV on Sunday and said it's time to start bombing Iran's energy supplies. Now, I believe President Trump wanted to wait until after the summit with China to talk to them, see what their position was in terms of Iran holding a nuclear weapon, things like that. And I believe President Trump likely will resume with armed conflict in Iran, taking out their energy supplies and things like that because they've been so intransigent. In terms of any kind of deal. And I do believe he also will focus on ways to get their enriched uranium out and continue to blow up any of their potential missile capabilities. So we'll watch that closely this week. On Friday night, the U.S. supreme Court released their very predictable opinion that they would not be reversing the Virginia Supreme Court's decision to throw out the Virginia redistricting referendum. Again, this was not a surprise to any anybody. Not only was the Virginia appeal incredibly embarrassing, including multiple misspellings of words like Virginia and Senator, but also Virginia Democrats and their attorneys. J. Jones Office the Attorney General sent the appeal to the wrong Supreme Court, but the US Supreme Court was kind enough to treat it seriously and it was thrown out with without any dissent at all, even from liberal justices. This was not a surprise because as we've discussed numerous times, this was a state issue and the Virginia Supreme Court has the supreme authority on those state issues. Our assumption all along had been that Virginia wanted to file this appeal so they had one more reason to attack the legitimacy of the Supreme Court. But because their appeal and ham fisted attempts were so embarrassing, they didn't really have a good messaging opportunity. That did not stop Jay Jones, Abigail Spamberger and a number of Democrats from still trying to question the legitimacy of the Supreme Court. This fight is far from over. In the last couple weeks, Louisiana, Tennessee and a number of red states have set new maps. Democrats have responded, especially over this last weekend with wild, wild new attempts at using the race card. There are people in this hostile anti black administration that would rather black Americans

pick cotton than pick the President. We are here because a white supremacist dictator known as President Donald Trump thought he could silence us.

We're going to unpack more of that throughout this week. But this fight is far from over. Kamala Harris has proposed holding a no Bad Ideas brainstorm among Democrats to discuss things like packing the Supreme Court, adding Puerto rico and Washington D.C. as new states, and a number of other crazy ideas.
C
No Bad Idea brainstorm is what I'd like to call it. We talk about what we need to do and think about doing around the Electoral College of Supreme Court reform, which includes expanding the Supreme Court.

Now, a lot of people like myself reacted to this by saying, wait a second, wasn't Kamala Harris's 2020 campaign already the no Bad Ideas brainstorm? Plastic in the trash straws are a

big thing right now. Ye do you ban plastic straws? I think we should. The doctor says, well, I don't know if your insurance company is gonna cover this. Let's eliminate all of that. Let's move on.

And didn't she learn in 2024 that people actually think there are some bad ideas? By the way, that the 2020 brainstorm ideas dogged her all the way through that election cycle. But again, as a Republican, I love to hear this, and I hope she never stops talking and reminding everyone just how crazy Democrats are, are. But as a normal American who loves our country, it does make me nervous to see the Overton window shift so far with all of these radical ideas. We're going to break these down and what it means for the Democrat Party and the Democrat 2028 jostling that we're already seeing. There's a major fight right now in Capitol Hill over the Republican funding bill, including Department of Homeland securities, Customs and Border Patrol, and ice. Republicans are passing this on a Republican only basis. But a part of this that's gotten stuck is new supplement funding for the White House complex, which will cover President Trump's new ballroom. Now, Democrats have reacted to the discussion of a ballroom as if the sky was falling and it was the end of democracy. Personally, I cannot necessarily get behind that outrage. Presidents of both parties have wanted a ballroom for a long time. It will get finished In September of 2028, months before President Trump leaves office. It's hardly something that he's even expecting to enjoy, but it will be helpful for presidents to have that type of event space that is more secure, that presidents can avoid getting shot the way that President Trump has now multiple times. And the security for that makes a lot of sense. Now Democrats are saying this is a huge waste of taxpayer money. Republicans like myself respond by saying, wait a sec, this is $1 billion to try and keep a president from getting shot. Democrats had nothing to say about $9 billion in Somali fraud. Or if you look at four years under Joe Biden, the fact that Democrats approved what could end up being $2 trillion in wind and solar tax credits, a lot of which went to Democrat NGOs like the Stacey Abrams or to wind and solar companies that have completely gone out of business since Democrats left office. So, again, $1 billion for keeping presidents alive doesn't seem like too much to ask for. There's a number of other big stories we're gonna be covering this week. One of them, again is data centers. We've talked about the fact that China is funding campaigns against data centers here in the United States, in part so they can maintain or try and get an edge in the sort of AI space race. But groups like Arabella advisors have been found to be working again, always willing to be useful idiots. Stories like a candidate in Pennsylvania who needed coaching to act normal in a campaign event with Pete Buttigieg. We're going to talk about Michigan's Abdul Al said, and the revelation that while he's talked about being a doctor, he's never actually had a medical license. Lots of fun things coming up this week, including, of course, all the activity on Capitol Hill and all the activity from President Trump. You won't want to miss it. We'll be covering it here up to the minute on 10 Minute Drill. Follow our social media, make sure you're subscribed. Have a great rest of your Monday.
