The latest on Iran from a very newsy Cabinet meeting election night in America. We break down some of those results from Tuesday night. And a number of Democrats accidentally cheer on ice. All of that and so much more today on 10 Minute Drill.
President Donald Trump
The story of America is the story of an adventure.
Cory Booker
I can hear you. The rest of the world hears you. We are a nation under God, and I believe God intended for us to be free.

As we continue to go back and forth with Iran during these peace negotiations, President Trump held a very newsy Cabinet meeting, and one of the main topics was our ongoing conversations about peace with Iran.
President Donald Trump
So I'm thrilled to welcome everyone to the 12th cabinet meeting of our administration. And we're doing something that no administration has ever done. We're always letting the press join us because we're very open and transparent.
Host/Commentator
President Trump turned to Secretary Rubio to once again reiterate our firm red lines on Iran.
Ken Paxton
Well, first of all, the bottom line
Host/Commentator
is Iran's never going to have a nuclear weapon. He also turned to Pete Hegseth to remind everybody that we are keeping assets in the region for one important purpose
Ken Paxton
and again, bringing them to the table. So whether it is through the efforts of your negotiators that they ensure that they never have a nuclear weapon, or we have to go back to the War Department to finish the job that way, we're prepared to do that.
Host/Commentator
The dynamic we continue to watch is Iran pushing out through their media allies, their version of what they'd like to see out of this deal. President Trump and the Trump administration batting those things down and reminding everyone what their firm red lines on this are. First and foremost, Iran can't have a nuclear weapon. Second, Iran cannot control the Strait of Hormuz. Third, we will leave our assets in the region until we need to move them out and until the job is done. So continue to watch this space. There's reports that what had been a five to seven day period for Iran to digest this offer could end up being longer. Imagine that. Iran running out the clock. Who would have thought? But we will follow it closely here and give you any updates. On Tuesday night, a few major elections were settled, including the Texas Republican primary. Now, I will preface by saying I've worked very closely with John Cornyn. When I worked for Senator Hatch, we had multiple committees overlapping. I worked closely with Senator Cornyn and his team. He was an incredibly effective senator. He voted with President TRUMP Probably 99% of the time he served as Senate Majority Whip under President Trump's leadership to push forward a lot of his agenda. He was also heavily involved in the confirmation of all of President Trump's judges from his spot on the Judiciary Committee. And on top of that, he's a good man, but he lost decisively on Tuesday night to Ken Paxton. Now, one thing that shifted the dynamics of this race was polling that showed that James Talarico on the Democrat side was so extreme and radical that anyone could beat him. Probably not anyone, but between John Cornyn and Ken Paxton, both of them would have a clear shot to beat him. And that's what made President Trump feel more comfortable giving his endorsement. Very early on, right after the initial primary was over, when there had been three candidates narrowed down to two, there was an announcement from President Trump that he would be making an endorsement. And the person he didn't endorse, he expected to drop out of the race. At the time, the. The common knowledge was that was going to be Senator Cornyn. And when it didn't happen that day and the lobbying effort kicked in, particularly with a lot of focus on the SAVE act and the filibuster, things shifted. And President Trump ended up choosing Ken Paxton, who will most likely win, in my mind, handily. That's my bold prediction. We're talking a lot about James Talarico because he will raise a lot of money, because once again, to Democrats, he looks like the kind of guy who could potentially sucker Texas voters. But I actually am predicting it will not be as close as people think. And here's one big reason, as we've talked about quite a bit here on 10 minute drill, there are hours of video of James Talarico saying insane things. When you watch him and get to know him, it feels like he was constructed in a lab by the Democrat socialists in America to maybe come in third in some Brooklyn area Democrat primary. And yet he's found himself as the Democrats candidate for a Senate seat in Texas. And I think that that's a story in itself. It reminds me a little bit of what we discussed yesterday with GR Graham Platner and the fact that there was a major orchestration to try and pitch him as Democrats view of what Republican and moderate voters might find digestible. The problem with Talarico, just like Platner, is there's so many insane things that he said that it's not gonna work out. And you don't have to take my word for it. Here's one CNN panelist outlining that challenge.
CNN Panelist
The idea that he has this odd interpretation of God that doesn't align with these traditional faith voters is gonna African American voters, Latino voters as well.
Host/Commentator
So again, Democrats will pour probably more than $150 million into this race because they think Talarico might have a chance. The problem is he is just simply too crazy and goes against everything normal people in Texas believe. Paxton led really hard with he's a vegan. The reason he's a vegan is actually relevant is this guy has said we need to cut down on red meat in one of the biggest red meat producing states to fight climate change. All of these things have actual relevance to his policy views and actions that he has taken as an elected official. And when Republicans are done educating people on this guy, again, I do not believe it will end up being a close race in November. On this issue of healthcare affordability, but also fraud, waste and abuse. A good friend of mine, Andrew Bremberg, one of the smartest people I know, who was also an alumni of the first Trump administration, had a great op ed in Fox News about key ways to lower health care prices. And I think it's very smart. And I want to just highlight those really quickly because the theme of them is transparency. In Fox News, three steps that could stop fraud and make health care more affordable for all Americans. First, give patients prices before care and empower them to join the fight against fraud, waste and abuse. This comes back to something we've talked about quite a bit here. It is insane that in our healthcare system you can get care and not know the price you're going to pay for it until you get the bill. And a lot of times you'll find you are charged some insane price for something. And if you had the ability beforehand, you could have potentially gone somewhere else for that care, for that X ray, for any number of things in your healthcare experience. But also, as Andrew writes, this is critical to fighting waste, fraud and abuse. Multiple charging, your insurance company getting charged multiple times, your government healthcare plan getting charged multiple times for something like that. Which leads to the second point in Andrew's piece. Second, clean up the federal Employee Health program. The Federal Employees Health Benefits Program is one of the biggest purchasers of health care in the country. But there's no way to see what's actually charged or what money actually goes to. So there could be accidental charges, fraudulent billing, things like that. We'd never know because as is so often the case with taxpayer dollars, it's treated like monopoly money. And so transparency in that space would go a long way to lower the costs. Third thing, force transparency across employer health plans. Most people have insurance plans through their employer don't actually see a lot of those charges. Once again, it's treated a little bit like monopoly money, but if employers had the ability to see what their company plans were paying for, they'd be able to see if there were accidental overcharges. They'd be able to sort of, you know, help their employees find providers that give transparency and lower costs, things like that. So again, the theme of all of this is transparency and it fits so closely with so much of what President Trump is trying to do. Waste, fraud and abuse in so many cases has to do with government funds, our tax dollars being treated like monopoly money in a black box. But creating more visibility into these basic things would go such a long way in helping us cut back on waste, fraud and abuse. So thank you to Andrew for that great piece. We've talked a lot here about Europe's protectionist policies that are intended to bilk American companies with insane fees, taxes, charges and penalties to make up for the fact that they have no companies and no innovation bred in Europe because they've regulated them to death. As many European leaders have acknowled. This is another case of that. The European Union is planning to find Alphabet's Google a high triple digit million euro amount as part of an antitrust investigation. Germany's Handelsblatt newspaper reports, citing commission sources. The decision is nearing completion and is expected to be announced before the summer break, the paper said. Now I have to laugh at that. The summer break. You have to remember that if you ever needed to take advantage of a European vulnerability, the summer break would be a great opportunity, as is the time between 10 o' clock and 2 o' clock when they have mandated naps or the their hourly smoke breaks. Because Europe in many ways is just simply not a serious place. But the Trump administration's pushing back on this. We are deeply concerned by reports of new fines being prepared against American companies. Targeting US Firms with punitive measures would be a serious mistake corrosive to private investment and economic growth in Europe. We will be watching closely. Now a big part of this is the Europeans saying that Google is wrong for in their own search results prioritizing Google products. Now Google is also pushing back on this characterization by pointing out the fact that they don't just wait towards their own products, they wait towards things that actually have value and efficacy. For people searching, here's how they responded. The changes we've already made to search under the DMA Digital Markets act represent the biggest downgrade in the product's history, creating a second rate experience to Europeans to the benefit of a few self interested complainants. So again, these self interested complainants are some European companies that have significantly crappier products but want to be able to wait higher in Google. Even if Google's waiting is often prioritized towards good serving sites and things that have content that people actually want to see. The Europeans need to try and shift the dynamics in their own direction so they're filing things like this. Also with the added benefit of bilking an American company for hundreds of millions of their fake currency, the euro. We're a little bit late getting to this story, but late last week, CNN and then of course the DNC themselves released the long awaited autopsy of what went wrong in the 2024 election. And I can tell you it might have been worse than the 2024 election. First off, they ignored a lot of things, got a lot of attention for the fact that they didn't even touch the issue of Joe Biden staying in too long and then trying to defraud voters after millions of primary voters had already voted with the famous Kamala switcheroo. So pretty big elephants in the room that they ignored. But Ken Martin, who is the embattled DNC chairman, gave his own preface to essentially say, like, not my fault. He wrote, I'm not proud of this product. It does not meet my standards and it won't meet your standards. I don't endorse what's in this report or what's left out of it. I could not in good faith put the DNC's stamp of approval on it. But transparency is paramount. So today I'm releasing the report as I have received it in its entirety, unedited and unabridged, with annotations for claims that couldn't be verified. What's important to note in this is that Democrats paid $10 million to a vendor to compile this autopsy that is so bad it had typos, misspellings on top of the unverified claims, the substance issues, the giant elephants in the room they ignored that are incredibly embarrassing. So just like every part of the 2024 campaign, a few consultants made a lot of money creating absolutely terrible products that help nobody like Kamala Harris and her campaign. But one thing they did highlight that I thought was really interesting is the shift that Democrats have seen from 2009 to 2024. Now, as you look at this chart, you'll see those three columns, 2009, 2025, and the change that we have seen in the Senate, Congress, governors, state legislators, and the state trifectas it highlights a massive shift towards Republicans in every level of power from the beginning of the Barack Obama years. For example, a plus 13 Republican change in Senators, a plus 41 change towards Republicans in Congress, a plus 5 change in Governor's mansions. 8, 832 person shift towards Republicans in state legislators, and a plus 13 shift towards Republicans in state trifectas. Democrats try and dismiss this and say anything could have caused this, and they say it's about polarization. In this autopsy, the reality is Barack Obama made the party toxic and turned them into lecturing talking heads who no longer had anything identifiable with normal people, which is another thing that really crushed them in 2024. But what we're seeing from the time this autopsy came out and over the last few months is a number of Democrats trying to sort of create an aura for themselves of new leadership. And it's the people you'd expect.
Cory Booker
First off, Cory Booker, the system is rigged. People feel that and they need leaders that we are not each other's enemies.
Host/Commentator
Cory Booker says the system is rigged and we're not each other's enemies. On that first part. It's rigged because Democrats used all of their power to help wealthy Democrats at the expense of everybody else. They drove up historic levels of inflation to help wealthy families get electric cars and bail out their student debt. Meanwhile, everyone else suffered because of it. They're the ones who rigged the system and actually hurt people. And when he says we're not each other's enemies, you've got to remember all the times he's called Republicans fascists, attacked them for their beliefs and use those opportunities to get attention for himself, creating more division and more bizarre theatrical tape that had no actual substance to it. Another person with that same high volume, low substance effect is Chris Murphy.
Chris Murphy
I want the Democratic Party to really speak to where the people of this country are emotionally right now. Maga, whether you like it or not, is a place where people find community. It's a divisive, hateful community.
Host/Commentator
But that's Chris Murphy. If you can hear through the spit when he talks, he's trying to say we need community. But he's also finding a great way to insult half the country who supported President Trump as divisive and hateful.
Ken Paxton
We lost because we weren't willing to
Host/Commentator
say that the working class was shafted. Ro Khanna thinks that they lost because they weren't willing to say that the working class was shafted. It's important to note Ro Khanna was very involved in doing the shafting. Once again, by voting for all these policies that helped rich liberal Democrats at the expense of those working families. Ro Khanna voted for every green tax credit that made solar and wind donors into billionaires hurting and driving up inflation for those working families that he's now trying to pretend he's some kind of champion of. So again, we're seeing this Democrat jostling of trying to sort of create new leaders and it's not working because they all voted for every bad thing that hurt the people that they're now trying to sort of curry favor with. For you can't make it up segment today we have a clip that I laughed about in my office for probably seven to 10 minutes because it is so funny. Now to preface this, we've talked about the ICE and anti ICE protests going on in New Jersey, the fact that anti ICE protesters have built walls outside of an ICE detention center in New Jersey to try and block anyone from coming out or in. And now these weirdos are basically just sleeping outside watching to see everything happen. And then this happened.

So you hear a white person say bienvenido, which is welcome. After these people are leaving, they're cheering for them. Because if you are a Democrat and you see a Hispanic person, you think that dude is an immigrant. In reality, these are ICE agents who are getting off of a shift at the ICE facility, going home from work. They're getting cheered from these Democrats who think that they might be illegal immigrants who have escaped the detention center or something like that. Because if you are again an anti ICE left wing activist, UC Brown, and you can only think one thing and I think that tells us everything we need to know about Democrats today. That's all the time we have for today. Thank you so much for joining us on 10 Minute Drill. Please like subscribe, leave us a review and we will see you next week.
