That's an incredibly damning list and it goes all the way to the top. Democrats know that the only way to inspire their base is to use the most outrageous escalated rhetoric they possibly can to describe the threat of Donald Trump. Because for the last 12 years, the only thing holding their broken coalition together is hatred and fear of Donald Trump. And that's why every elected official has been saying things like that. And so it was interesting to see on Saturday night a number of them say things like, you know, we're concerned about what happened, or we're grateful that everyone is safe and healthy. You're grateful that the guy you're calling a Nazi and a fascist is healthy. I don't know if I believe you, but we're gonna get a little bit more on one of the worst of these cases at the end of this episode. Yesterday, the Supreme Court of Virginia heard the first round of oral arguments on the statutory challenges to the Virginia Democrats nuclear option referendum but just a recap of what they're talking about here. The constitutional challenges focus on whether the amendment was properly advanced during a limited special session, whether a required intervening election occurred, whether the 90 day constitutional requirement was met, and whether the proposed maps meet contiguity and compactness standards. And then there are other statutory issues that are also going to be addressed in other arguments. Those were the extreme ballot language used and the lack of 90 day notice of the proposed amendment before the 2025 election and the 2026 referendum. The major question of yesterday's arguments focused on those issues of process. Did the people of Virginia have adequate access and information about what they're going to be voting on? The process pieces in here are intended to ensure none of this is rushed. None of this is sort of thrown together without the buy in of people. And one of the issues that they really focused on in this argument was the issue of an intervening election. There's a requirement that the legislature pass a new map once, hold an election, and then pass it again before it can be advanced. That intervening election is meant to allow this entire process to play out with voters essentially having an opportunity to have an early vote on that map by voting for members of the assembly if they voted for that map or not. Democrats short circuited this because Republicans argue that they had the first vote in the state assembly after the the election had already started. The early voting for the most recent election had already begun when the State assembly voted on this. Which means if you are an early voter, you can't go back and change your vote based on how your representative voted on this. And what was really interesting in the arguments yesterday was having Democrats argue that early voting doesn't really matter because the only thing that matters is Election Day. This happens at the same time as Democrats around the country are trying to extend early voting so that as well as these other process points are pretty, pretty cut and dry. It's pretty clear here that Virginia Democrats violated the law and that they took away the opportunity for the people of Virginia to have the normal required notice and access to information. But it goes even further when you recognize the fact that Abigail Spamberger blocked maps from being shown in polling places or on the ballots. And so Virginia Democrats clearly weren't concerned about giving as much information possible to voters. They simply wanted people to see this was an opportunity to fight against Donald Trump. So right now the Virginia map is still frozen, it is enjoined and we will wait and see where all these different points go. One Thing we talk about quite a bit here is follow the money. Where does the money come from that's having such a huge impact in our politics? Well, Defending Education has a new report highlighting just how much teachers unions have been putting into politics. This from Nicky Neely. Defending Education has released two new reports exposing how teachers unions have funneled more than $1 billion into political causes over the last decade. And from Fox News Watchdog report exposes teachers union political machine funneling more than $1 billion to liberal causes. Within that larger report there's a little bit more detail. The NEA and AFT have funneled over $699 million to political groups, advocacy orgs and campaigns since 2015. That includes tens of millions to PACs, progressive nonprofits and partisan efforts far removed from the classroom. And if you take a quick look at this table diverted $1 billion new report shows teachers unions spend over $1 billion on political and ideological causes. Where'd the money go? 106 million through California Teachers Association PACS 57 million from New York City teachers union spending and the list goes on and on and on. This funding is from teachers union due to and they are funding political causes. If you were to look at the long list of priorities for teachers unions, their political outcomes and securing political power for Democrats is number one somewhere like 500 bullets down might be doing something to help kids learn to read and write. But again, as Defending Education and Nikki Neely have always done very well, this highlights that teachers unions real purpose is essentially as the most effective, well funded super PAC for Democrats in the country. Today the House Ways and Means Committee is holding a hearing on healthcare costs focused specifically on hospitals. This is a theme that we've talked about quite a bit here. The fact that Democrats have found a way to use programs that give major tax benefits to hospitals that are also carrying out their political agendas. Consumers Research has highlighted two of these that will be appearing before the Ways and Means Committee today. At the hearing, two major nonprofit hospitals will be testifying, New York Presbyterian and Common Spirit Health. We wanted to make sure that Rep. Jason Smith and the rest of the committee are aware of how these two major hospitals are prioritizing advancing the WOKE agenda over providing the best possible patient care at the lowest possible price. And they put this@wokehospitals.com which you can check out. New York Presbyterian promotes DEI perform child sex changes and pushes climate activism. Common Spirit has an office of DEI and belonging to performed child sex changes and spent $100 million on race based hiring. This is one of several hearings that have been held to understand better this scheme where Democrats will tell us every day that there's not enough money being spent on healthcare. Meanwhile, they found these ways to divert the existing money into political agendas that aren't actually helping people who need good healthcare. And this woke 340B program and the abusive tax status that allows hospitals pretending to either be a radio rural facility or a sort of non profit charity center are actually pocketing tens of millions of dollars in small cases but in bigger places like Cleveland Clinic and others, billions of taxpayer dollars while not actually improving the quality of care for people. So those looking at waste, fraud and abuse, ding ding ding. We found some for you can't make it up segment today we have a slightly somber issue that we're nevertheless going to make fun of. The Tim Waltz after the events on Saturday night tweeted this political violence has become all too prevalent in America. I'm grateful for the swift response from law enforcement at White House Correspondents Dinner. Are you really, Tim? Because we've heard you say quite a few times just exactly what you think of Donald Trump, including going as far as musing about him dying.
