Hello and welcome to the 10% podcast. This is your host, Waji. This episode is going to be about the art of self reflection. Let's start with an introduction or what is my definition of self reflection? I think that self reflection reflection, sorry is our ability to really observe ourselves and be in the mindset of really observing what is our thought processes, what are our decisions like and so, so on and so forth. Okay, so this is my definition at least of self reflection and it is done for like the thought of or the mindset behind it is that we should self reflect to improve ourselves and our lives, of course. So my story with self reflection reflection, I found that I have this anger management issues because I found that I tend to get angry a lot and for my anger I found myself that I am really hurting my health in the process of anger and obsession because I for like, for my nature, I'm. I'm obsessed. Usually I'm obsessed easily so not upset obsessed. I get like 10 for, for the like the smallest details. I found that in my journey in like podcasting and filming, I found myself that I found that I didn't do like focus on the very small details. Some people say like this is a perfectionist or something but and or like I focus a lot on details. I found that it is counter productive because I found that I am not doing and by not doing or just waiting for this perfect, perfect moment to act that I found myself really not doing anything, to be honest. So this is a segue for our, our subjects for this episode. I am trying to be natural, as natural as it can be. And this is difficult of course, but this is part of the process of self reflection because I am now watching myself dealing with this, with this barrier, of course. So as of right now, I'm talking about myself of course that I'm using self reflection as a way to improve myself and really get in the groove of talking in front of a camera, microphone, whatever. So but self reflection can be harmful at times because sometimes people self reflect not they identify this as self reflection, but it is not, it is just obsession and it is just this hold of ourselves to like be hyper aware of our situation, our feelings. And this is not very good because it's important to focus outside of yourself and this is like counterintuitive because you have to be focused outside and use self reflection moderately to improve yourself at times. But you have to be focused outwards because if you are hyper focused about what you are feeling, it's not a very pleasant life that we lead. This is my thought about the process, about this issue. So what is next? Practice. So some people say that sometimes we have or we should self reflect just before we go to sleep. This is good advice at first, but I don't think that obsessing about things that maybe are not pleasant before you go to bed is a very good idea. This is my opinion. Of course this is just a personal opinion. I think that we saw we should, or in practice we should self reflect in the midday. Why in the midday? We have moments for ourselves and it is not any like bad chain of thought that we might have. It's not, it's not gonna be that impactful to us or our psyche because this is, all of this is just our way to deal with, deal with stuff, deal with our lives and our choices. Because self reflection on our natural behavior or our choices is very important. And it's only, it's only good if we are doing this to be better, to make better choices, to make our habits or our. To cultivate our good habits or deter our bad habits. So yeah, I hope you like this episode. Just a short episode. I'm just trying to be natural right off the cuff and I hope you like it. Thank you for listening.
