Welcome to A Year in the Bible with Daily Grace. This year we want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through our study Christ in All of Scripture. Each week we will dive deeply into two passages of Scripture, one from the Old Testament and one from the New, seeing how they connect and point to Jesus.
Host 2
Whether you are doing the study yourself or just following along with us here, we are hopeful that through studying these passages each week, you will see how Christ is not only present throughout the entire Biblical story, but the center of it.
Alexa
Hey friends. Welcome back to Year in the Bible. My name is Alexa and I'm here with my co host for the week, Antonisha.
Antonisha
Hey everyone. This week we studied Psalm 110 in Hebrews 7, 11, 17 and learned that Jesus is our true and better high priest. Now we want to spend some time discussing how we plan on applying what we learned this week. So Alexa, what are your application takeaways?
Alexa
Yeah, you know, this week just made me really grateful for the continual forgiveness that we have in Christ as believers. The priests used to have to offer sacrifices after sacrifices again and again for the Israelites because the Israelites continued to break God's law. But because of Christ's sacrifice, there is no need for there to be any more sacrifices. Which means that when I sin, Christ's sacrifice covers my sin and I just continue to have God's forgiveness through Christ no matter what. And that just makes me honestly just so grateful because I sin a lot. Even on my best days, when I feel like I'm doing well in my obedience to God, I still fail. And so to know that I will always have Christ's forgiveness is an incredible comfort to me. It assures me that I will always have a relationship with God, even when I fail in my obedience to Him. And it assures me that I will always have Christ's grace when I sin. That all the more encourages me to draw near to God and remain walking in his ways. I, I, I just don't want to take for granted the sacrifice that Jesus made for me. And so not taking that for granted involves responding to the grace that I've received with joyful obedience to God. So what about you, Antisha? How do you plan on applying this week's passages?
Antonisha
Yeah, similarly, I've just been reminded that Jesus is an eternal priest. He's the one who's making intercession for us even now. Hebrews 4, 15 and 16 says that our high priest is able to sympathize with us because he was tempted, just like we are, but without sin and we can always call on him or come to him when we need grace and when we need mercy. And Hebrews 7 goes on to remind us in verses 25 and 26 that because Jesus is an eternal priest, he's able to save us completely and everyone who comes to God through Him. Since he always lives to intercede for us, we're going to go into a time of prayer, so after Alexa reads each prayer prompt, take a moment to respond in prayer to the Lord.
Alexa
Praise Jesus for being our great High Priest. Thank Jesus for sacrificing Himself on the cross for our sins. Ask Jesus to help you remember his grace and forgiveness whenever you sin. Thanks so much for joining us this week, friends. We will see you next week as we dive more into seeing Christ in all of Scripture.

In this episode of A Year in the Bible with Daily Grace, hosts Alexa and Antonisha continue their deep dive into the study titled "Christ in All of Scripture." Focusing on Psalm 110:4 and Hebrews 7:11-17, the hosts explore the theme of Jesus as the ultimate high priest, surpassing the Levitical priesthood described in the Old Testament.
Psalm 110:4: This verse is examined to understand its prophetic significance concerning the priesthood of Christ.
Hebrews 7:11-17: The discussion centers on how this passage reinforces the idea of Jesus being a better and eternal high priest.
Antonisha initiates the conversation by highlighting their study's primary takeaway:
Antonisha [00:37]: "This week we studied Psalm 110 in Hebrews 7, 11, 17 and learned that Jesus is our true and better high priest."

Alexa shares her personal reflections on the week's study:
Alexa [00:53]: "This week just made me really grateful for the continual forgiveness that we have in Christ as believers. Antonisha adds her perspective on Jesus's eternal priesthood:
Antonisha [02:15]: "I've just been reminded that Jesus is an eternal priest. He's the one who's making intercession for us even now. Hebrews 4:15-16 says that our high priest is able to sympathize with us because he was tempted, just like we are, but without sin and we can always call on him or come to him when we need grace and when we need mercy."
She further explains how Hebrews 7:25-26 assures believers of complete salvation through Jesus's eternal intercession, highlighting the uniqueness of Christ's priesthood.
