Welcome to A Year in the Bible with daily Grace. This year, we want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through our study Christ in All of Scripture. Each week, we will dive deeply into two passages of Scripture, one from the Old Testament and one from the new, seeing how they connect and point to Jesus.
B (0:17)
Whether you are doing the study yourself or just following along with us here, we are hopeful that through studying these passages each week, you will see how Christ is not only present throughout the entire biblical story, but with the center of it. Hey, everyone. Welcome back to another episode of the Year in the Bible podcast. My name is Alexa and I'm joined with my co host, Beth.

Hello, everyone.
B (0:40)
Today we're going to be talking about the next annotation day of this week, which is from Revelation 12, 9, 10.
A (0:46)
Yeah, it's not every day that you get to study a passage from Revelation, so I am particularly excited about going deeper into this passage today. So, Alexa, what prompt stood out to you?
B (0:55)
You know, I really loved the last prompt on rereading Genesis 3 and comparing it with Revelation 12:1, 12. So some ways in which I saw Genesis 3 and Revelation 12 connect is that they both talk about Satan as a serpent, but they also say that Satan is a deceiver. In Genesis 3:13, Eve says, the serpent deceived me and I ate. And Revelation 12:9, John writes that Satan is the one who deceives the whole world. And then we see the defeat that God promises in Genesis 3:15 ultimately come to pass. In Revelation 12, it says in verse 10 that the accuser has been thrown down, which signifies defeat.
A (1:37)
Oh, that's so cool. I love seeing connections in the Bible, but I especially love seeing them whenever they're connecting the very first book of the Bible and the very last book of the Bible. It's just amazing. So is there anything else that stood out to you?
B (1:51)
Yeah, I think the power of God's kingdom was something that stood out to me in this passage. And just thinking about the connections between Genesis 3 and Revelation 12, we see the power of the offspring in Genesis 3 over the serpent. And then here in Revelation 12, we see the power of the kingdom and the authority of Christ on display, which results in Satan being overthrown. And this was just a reminder to me about how great God's kingdom is and how even though the kingdom of this world is broken, it's God's kingdom that is ultimately going to prevail.
