Welcome to A Year in the Bible with Daily Grace. This year we want to spend a few minutes with you every day walking through our study Christ in All of Scripture. Each week we will dive deeply into two passages of Scripture, one from the Old Testament and one from the New, seeing how they connect and point to Jesus.
B (0:17)
Whether you are doing the study yourself or just following along with us here, we are hopeful that through studying these passages each week, you will see how Christ is not only present throughout the entire Biblical story, but but the center of it. Hi friends, welcome back to the last week of Year in the Bible for 2025. We are so thankful that you have joined us on this journey of seeing Christ in all Scripture and we hope that your time in this study and listening to this podcast has been encouraging and illuminating. This week will be a unique week as we'll wrap up this year with some reflections and final encouragement for you. So today and tomorrow Beth and I will be sharing what we learned throughout our time in the Christ and all Scripture study and how what we learned is going to impact own study and God's Word moving forward. And then on Wednesday we'll end our time together with some final encouragement for you.

Yes, I am so excited to spend this time reflecting together and so to start us off, Alexa, can you share with us something that stood out to you about Jesus, whether that be his character or his actions? Just something that really stood out to you as you were going through this study throughout the year?
B (1:21)
Yeah, I think what stood out to me was the truth that Jesus is not just a powerful but merciful king. Throughout our study we often talked about how Jesus is the fulfillment of 2 Samuel 7. So he is the the promised Messiah who reigns over God's eternal kingdom. That shows us Jesus's power and glory. He is a divine king who executes justice and reigns with perfect control. But Jesus came to us not only as a divine king but also a humble servant. He took on flesh so that he could be like us, walk among us and save us from our sin. So Jesus is certainly powerful, but he is also merciful. He empathizes with us, cares about our needs, and extends to us his forgiveness. And speaking for myself, I think sometimes I tend to think of Jesus as only powerful or only merciful, depending on the situation that I'm in. But Jesus is both. In fact, Jesus's power is seen through his humility. So I think meditating on that aspect of Jesus's character has given me just a greater appreciation for who Jesus is and just has challenged me to kind of broaden my perspective of Jesus's character, both when reading God's word and when I'm going about life's circumstances. So Jesus is ruling and reigning and will one day return to execute justice, but he is also with me, caring for me, comforting me, and being gracious to me.
