Foreign.
Robert Perry Crews
Hey, everybody. Welcome to ABA Inside Track, the podcast that's like reading in your car, but safer. I'm your host, Robert Perry Crews, and with me, as always, are my fabulous co hosts.
Diana Perry Cruz
Hello, Rob. It's me, Diana Perry Cruz.
Robert Perry Crews
Usually we're joined by our other Special co host, Dr. Jackie McDonald, but unfortunately, or fortunately for her, because of these sweet summer months, we're all doing some vacation times, which has changed some of our recording schedule. It shouldn't affect the regular episodes, but we usually do these previews pretty close to when they come out. So it can get a little dicey to get everyone in the studio this time of year. So it'll just be the two of us for this month's July 2026 preview for the show where we talk about what's coming up in the world of behavior analytic research, discussion podcast episodes, and then some other fun goings on around the ABA inside treosphere. So, Diana, July is usually a special month in terms of being vacation, getting some time off, but we have for the past couple of years focused solely on only one type of episode. What kind of episode is that that we usually do in July?
Diana Perry Cruz
We do guest month.
Robert Perry Crews
Guest month?
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah.
Robert Perry Crews
Not just one or maybe two?
Diana Perry Cruz
No, no. All month long we have special guests to join us. And this July is even more special because there are four weeks.
Robert Perry Crews
Oh, that's a lot of guests.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah. And two episodes of two guests.
Robert Perry Crews
What?
Diana Perry Cruz
Yes.
Robert Perry Crews
Really? Oh, yeah, yeah. Yep.
Diana Perry Cruz
So six guests. Six throughout the month of July.
Robert Perry Crews
That's a lot of guests.
Diana Perry Cruz
I know.
Robert Perry Crews
That's a lot of good. And it. And. And we're always happy to have people over. There's a reason our studio has an extra insurance premium. So when the guests come, you know, if we throw our microphones at them, we gotta be covered.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah. Oh, do you want me to tell you about the episodes now?
Robert Perry Crews
No, let's just leave it a secret.
Diana Perry Cruz
All right, I guess I'll go ahead and do that generously for our listeners. So like we just said, four episodes are going to come out in the month of July. Let me tell you what they are. Okay, first up, we have Preparing for Public School Practice. We will be joined by two guests for this episode, Kristen Foley and Fina Robertson. And we have several articles to discuss with them. The first is Collaborative Practices of Behavior Analysts in School Settings. Evidence from the Field by Light Shriner, Pizzella, Schreiber and Wahman. That was in Behavior analysis and practice 2025. Our authors have an under review article, Ethical Competence for the School Based Behavior Analyst perceptions and preparedness that was discussed. Additionally navigate Navigating Collaboration Factors Influencing Special Education teachers Relationships with BCBAs in diverse school Contexts by Squires, Putre, Paraga, Morris, Ellsworth, Miller and Hansen. That was also in Behavior analysis and practice 2024. And finally, preparation of Behavior Analysts for School Based Practice by Copeland, Duffy and Mayas. That was in Behavior analysis and practice 2025. Up after that, it's our 350th episode.
Robert Perry Crews
What I know feels like it was just number one.
Diana Perry Cruz
I know. So you know, the 50s. We have always. We've been pretty good since maybe number 100 of hitting some big topics and having some of our favorite guests on during those 50 mark anniversaries. So this 350. We were very excited to have Dr. John Bailey join us. Yeah, he joined us to talk about Ethics for today. So we had a wide ranging discussion wide ranging discussion on ethical practice within our field. What he sees as really important areas that we need to ensure that we're treating properly.
Robert Perry Crews
Basically we originally said let's just do ethics for today. And Dr. Bailey was like, you're going to need ethics tomorrow too, so we should probably talk about that as well.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yes. So, you know, mostly we just enjoyed hearing what he had to say. But we did back that up with a few articles.
Robert Perry Crews
We backed it up with Dr. John Bailey being on the show.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah, Marketing behavior analysis requires different talk. That was by Bailey published in Java in 1991. And more recently the history of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board's ethics codes by Sellers, Cynic, Lichtenberger and Carr. And that was in Behavior analysis in practice 2025.
Robert Perry Crews
I'm a huge fan of when all of a sudden you realize someone just wrote kind of a. I don't want to say dry in like the pejorative sense, but just here we go. Straightforward. Here is some history of a field that more than 50% of the folks in it don't have a history in this field beyond five years. So knowing that there was something that came before, you know, before insurance reform, there was still ABA and all these different changes.
Diana Perry Cruz
Oh yeah, I love the historical context articles. And when we have guests that provide that historical context firsthand, that's gold. You cannot replace that. So everyone needs to make sure bookmark when that's going to come out so you can listen to it after that. We also have a very exciting episode with Dr. Mali Sevon and in which we discussed inequitable disciplinary practices. And that conversation is supported by three articles, Schooling While Black, analyzing the Racial School Discipline Crisis for Behavior Analysts that was written by Sevon and published in Behavior analysis and practice. 2022. Girlhood interrupted the Erasure of Black Girls Childhood. That is a white paper published by Epstein, Blake and Gonzalez in the center on Poverty and Inequality, Georgetown law issue in 2017. And just what is critical race theory and what's it doing in a nice field like education By Ladson Billings, published in the International Journal of Qualitative Studies in Education in the year 2011. 1998.
Robert Perry Crews
Which one is it again?
Diana Perry Cruz
It's 1998.
Robert Perry Crews
1998. Okay.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah. So sorry, I don't know what else I was going to say about that.
Robert Perry Crews
We usually like to make updates on this show. Sometimes we double check and it doesn't matter.
Diana Perry Cruz
It's 1998.
Robert Perry Crews
Okay.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah, that's what I wanted to say about that. Very good.
Robert Perry Crews
And so hired our facts checker, so.
Diana Perry Cruz
I know. And then finally, to round out the month of July, we have another double guest episode. These are guests that we had on previously and they're back. And to discuss a new book that they have written about reading instruction.
Robert Perry Crews
Well, they, they've edited it.
Diana Perry Cruz
Oh, I'm sorry.
Robert Perry Crews
They edited portions and then edited other.
Diana Perry Cruz
I love saying edited it. Edited it, edited it. And that is Dr. Doug Greer and Dr. Denise Ross. The book is called When Text Speaks, Learning to Read and Reading to Learn. That was published by Sloan Publishing in the year 2025. Big year. A lot of good stuff has come out in 2025. Yeah. So, yeah, we will be joined by them for our last full episode of the month. Wow.
Robert Perry Crews
And when we previously had them on, if you want to do a little research, they were in the process of getting together the articles, writing some of the summaries of the research out there on reading. So I think we'd had an excerpt of the book that we talked about the last time they were on the show. So this is now. The whole. The whole shebang is right there. We read it all.
Diana Perry Cruz
The whole enchilada. Yeah, the whole kitten caboodle.
Robert Perry Crews
So we will see. We will see. We have not floated the idea, but it could be a secret book club as well as an episode yet. We'll have to see whether we can put it all, put it all together in. In time. Because everyone's very busy this time of year, so we don't want to ask for too much. But you never know. Maybe a mini book club. Okay, that's that. Yeah, that's everything.
Diana Perry Cruz
That's that.
Robert Perry Crews
Well, what else is going on in July let's move into errata and talk about kind of everything else that's going on. So in terms of some professional outings, I know we're going to be heading up to up upstate New York. Yes.
Diana Perry Cruz
For the upstate Caring Partners Compassionate Care Conference. And that is happening. Well, we will be there starting on July 15th because we are doing a trivia night right before the conference sort of kicks off. And then the main days of the conference are 20. Sorry, no, the 16th and the 17th of July. So I hope that you can come and you should get there on Wednesday if you do so that you can come to trivia.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah, we'll also be helping out at a panel. We'll be hosting a panel with esteemed guests and we're sort, we're sort of working. We might, might be doing some of our classic floor wanderings.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah, we'll be around. It's a great conference. It's small. It's a boutique conference, as they say. A lot of great speakers there. A lot of people really thinking about the field and you know, what they want the future of our field to be, which is a really important conversation to be having right now. So go look up the list of speakers and see if you can still get there.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah, it's, it's been really interesting. I think the more, you know, for folks certainly who haven't been, you know, in the field very long or maybe you got your BCPA, you know, 2019. We're excited about all the conferences you get to go to and you've sort of now been in, I guess, conferences or a virtual thing. Oh, that we do. It really is important to get out as you can. I know they can be kind of expensive. It can be hard to find the time or make the travel. But as you can just going to different professional conferences because they all have a very distinct flavor to them in terms of feeling you get from them, you know. So like we, we always go to our BAB conference and that is, you know, in the past few years has done a really great job of sort of trying to hone in on a topic for the year and then have real, real tight theme. Although I know when I was going right, you know, we were both going kind of like in grad school or right out of grad school. It definitely felt like the. What's the cutting edge research? Tell me what I need to be ready for for next year. I know the Thompson center has their great kind of three tracks set up
Diana Perry Cruz
and Delicious as well.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah, they're all delicious. You know That's a key part of conferences, but the three track setup. So if you're interested in hearing more from the education or the behavior analytic or maybe even dip your toe into the medical part of autism care and autism support and treatment, that is just an excellent place to go.
Diana Perry Cruz
Parenting track, too.
Robert Perry Crews
And the parenting track too. Yes. I forgot. And then I think UCP was a conference that we'd only been to blast the last time we went around. It's every other year.
Diana Perry Cruz
They do every other year. Conference is kind of nice.
Robert Perry Crews
And it definitely had a real, a real, kind of get everyone in the mood for the next phase of ABA vibe to the whole event. I know we had, we saw our friends, you know, the Stabitzes were there. We saw Aditi Raj Raman. We saw, I think Ronda Musu, who hasn't been on the show, but I, you know, I'm in a community of practice with him and some of the other folks talking about SBTs in schools. But just a lot of folks who I think had their pulse on this is the way that not just ABA should be going, but, but really a lot of our treatment practices should be going. So it really did feel like maybe we're getting close to that cool sea change moment in trauma informed trauma aware care, even more so than, you know, you might go to a conference where they'll be talking about that as one of the topics. This one really felt like that was just the vibe it was giving off. So I'm hoping it has that same feeling this year. And we hope that you can be there even if you're just there for trivia. You know, at the very least, you know, there'll be trivia and we might have some buttons. So. So that's, that's the worst case scenario. That's pretty great. Pretty great worst case scenario.
Diana Perry Cruz
And it's in Utica. We didn't specify.
Robert Perry Crews
Oh, yeah, Utica is very cool. You get the tomato. Tomato pie. Was that the special. That's the special Utica food.
Diana Perry Cruz
Maybe. I don't know. It was the, it was the chicken riggies.
Robert Perry Crews
Oh, the chicken, Yes.
Diana Perry Cruz
I think maybe it was tomato pie too.
Robert Perry Crews
Tomato pie, yeah. Lots of good stuff. Another thing that just in case, I, I just gotten this in my email and I, I know this is a great. Speaking of either in person or kind of a virtual conference. I know the Endicott or the Cambridge center for Behavioral Studies, I should say out of Endicott. Speaking of special guest Kristin Foley from this month. She'll be a part of that conference. It's an ethics on professional practice conference which is really great summer conference. We don't always mention it every summer. I used to be actually used to love going in person to it to their, you know, the campus they had out there. But it's a little bit of a hike to Beverly from where we are and it's often when we're away on vacation. So I may try to go virtually because I recognized I've got one year left but I still need 0.5 ethics credits to recertify Tisk Tisk. And if I can't get it done in one year, I feel like I'm, I'm letting everybody down because I like to be ahead of the game.
Diana Perry Cruz
CCBS puts on great conferences and they do them all over. So that's kind of nice. Is like this one's in Massachusetts, but they had one in Pennsylvania recently. There's going to be one in Kansas in the fall which I will tell you more about later. So those are. It's kind of nice in that if you see it, see it, you see that it's an area of interest for you, then you can hopefully get there a little more locally.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah. But this is virtual.
Diana Perry Cruz
Different topics though.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah. And. And our, our guest for the month, Kristen Foley will be doing a panel there as well as a lot of other awesome guests. I see San Wukong's there. Richard Gina, Anna Linehan. So Eric Larson a lot. Yeah, Eric Larson, Marielle Fernandez. Those are just the invited speakers. But again you can register for an in person or virtually just another conference topic if you can get to Beverly. It is beautiful campus. And that's July 30th.
Diana Perry Cruz
You say it with a Massachusetts accent for us.
Robert Perry Crews
I don't know if I can do that. I, I used it all up. We were buying some Beverly, Massachusetts related coffee and we used up all our Boston accents this morning. Sorry.
Diana Perry Cruz
Oh, Rob.
Robert Perry Crews
And you go behavior.org for that.
Diana Perry Cruz
And that's my Laura Petrie.
Robert Perry Crews
There you go. So I think those are kind of the big goings on. And the nice thing is they're all spread out so you can kind of go to some of these, do some virtual in between your beach trips.
Diana Perry Cruz
Did you say the date for that?
Robert Perry Crews
July 31st.
Diana Perry Cruz
Okay.
Robert Perry Crews
So different. I double check. Because if they're both at the same time, it's. I always feel bad being like you should go to both of these, but you can't. I guess then you have choices. Right? Everyone loves choices. In terms of other summer things. I know Jackie's doing some camping that's probably where she is right now. I think when she can't, she can't be here. We do not doing too many trips this summer ourselves. So we'll be working on some things however I am or as of the release of this. When you're getting this, we'll be in the process of running a little RPG summer camp with some not therapeutic goals because it's meant to be a fun summer camp, but he was on our bonus episode. Matt Carter is school psychologist, bcba. We were putting together kind of a little RPG adventure with a focus on using problem solving skills and using empathy skills in the adventure. So that that's the only way to level up. And then we realized that we probably want to have a day where the only way to level up is to follow the rules of not interrupting constantly or going on your iPad instead of playing the game. So that's how you get to level two. After that, you have to use empathy and problem solving skills and some perseverance type skills. Don't worry, we defined it better than that. But I. I don't want to. I don't want to talk too much about it till it's all over. And maybe we'll have some, some, some interesting learned lessons from that. But that's kind of a chunk of
Diana Perry Cruz
summit ironed armor to keep my heart warm and soft.
Robert Perry Crews
Yep, that sounds ironed.
Diana Perry Cruz
Protective earmuffs to help my listening skills. Is it like that?
Robert Perry Crews
No, it's not. I actually don't mind the protective earmuffs. It's kind of an interesting idea. I still have to put together our treasure piles for what we hand out, so maybe, maybe we'll do some of that. That sounds. That sounds pretty good. Usually I was thinking like a sort of super murder, but maybe that's not in line with the therapeutic RPG ethos. And then Diana and I are also doing a really special thing this summer. Every month starting in June, we're going to some kind of a random festival. Something.
Diana Perry Cruz
I was like, what are we doing?
Robert Perry Crews
No, we already. We got the tickets. We know what we're doing. D you want to talk about our three festivals? One. One per month.
Diana Perry Cruz
I only remember two of them, but I'll tell you that we're going to go to the Hot Air Balloon Festival that's happening in Vermont. And we're going to go to the Moxy Drink Festival that's happening in Maine. And I don't remember the third.
Robert Perry Crews
The Hot Sauce Festival in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
Diana Perry Cruz
Oh, okay. That's just a day trip.
Robert Perry Crews
That's Just a date, right? Yeah. That's not as big. Portsmouth's an easier drive for us, so. Yes. One random festival every month.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah. I like hot air balloons. I've never been up in one. I also am not going to go up in one this time. No. It's cost prohibitive. But I don't like moxie, and I don't like hot sauce, but that's okay.
Robert Perry Crews
Moxie.
Diana Perry Cruz
I don't drink.
Robert Perry Crews
You know, regular. Moxie's not a. I drink this every day. Because you can't find it that often.
Diana Perry Cruz
No, I don't really even like those types of drinks.
Robert Perry Crews
Wow. And you don't like hot sauce?
Diana Perry Cruz
No.
Robert Perry Crews
Well, why are you even going to these things?
Diana Perry Cruz
I don't know.
Robert Perry Crews
I just kind of dragged along.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah.
Robert Perry Crews
Okay. Well, I'm excited about these three events.
Diana Perry Cruz
I'm excited.
Robert Perry Crews
Okay. You sounded very believable. And then.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah.
Robert Perry Crews
So that's. That's about it. For. For our summer fun. We hope that you're getting some chances to get out and enjoy the beach and enjoy some trips. But you know what? You always want to bring on a trip because you never know when you're going to be away from a power brick or a battery or a wall charger. You always want to bring some physical media. And I'm not talking DVDs, folks, or cassette tapes. I'm talking books. And if you want to know what books you should be bringing on your trips, well, you might want to know what the 2026, 2027 winners of the ABA InsideTrack Book Club Poll were, so you can prepare ahead. Hooray. So we did another giant poll of books across four categories. One was super.
Diana Perry Cruz
The bag was so heavy.
Robert Perry Crews
It was. It was a lot. We spent a lot of money on these books, and it was sad because most of them are gonna get thrown out because they didn't get picked.
Diana Perry Cruz
You know, that's all you can do with books.
Robert Perry Crews
You can't. I mean, we were thinking what else we could do with them, and it was like wood cheater or trash can. That's all you could do. So. No, no. We. We had. We didn't buy the books until we knew what one. To make sure we weren't spending money we didn't need to. And we have four categories this year. We have books around supervision, books around instructions. So read this, do this. Books around the theme of education, and books around the theme of just plain fun, Just a good time.
Diana Perry Cruz
I don't know that it's really. They're not. The choices were not Fun. It's more like a miscell. Oh, I might want to read that because it's interesting.
Robert Perry Crews
Well, for all of us here in the ABA and Citrack studio, reading, learning anything is 100% fun. All thought time. So for us it's just.
Diana Perry Cruz
But like they're serious topics.
Robert Perry Crews
Well, yeah, we didn't like. Oh, I wanted to read that book about the ogre that starts a latte bar. And that's the one. I read that on my own time. Right. That's not an ABA inside track podcast.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah, like I wanted to. I wanted the book about vaccines and autism fun to, to win. Disproving.
Robert Perry Crews
It was very close, but it didn't. It was. It was one vote away.
Diana Perry Cruz
It never wins, but that's okay. But it wasn't fun. But it was interesting fun in the
Robert Perry Crews
sense of we love learning. Learning is fun. That's the theme of the show. Do you remember? It's a theme.
Diana Perry Cruz
So theme of the show is it's reading in your car, but safer.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah. Okay. Because it's fun to read in your car and say, why don't you tell
Diana Perry Cruz
us what books want?
Robert Perry Crews
All right, we got four books. So the winners of the books in September we'll be doing for supervision. September we'll be doing the classic who Moved My Cheese? By Spencer Johnson. Now, Dan, I know you're sad about autism's false prophets not winning, but you've been floating who Moved My Cheese For a long time now. So it did get its moment in the sun. It did win.
Diana Perry Cruz
It's a parable about two mice and it's like 85 pages long.
Robert Perry Crews
You know what? The Book Club of Diana's Dreams. The book is short and has a parable.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah. And has cute animal creatures.
Robert Perry Crews
So we'll be doing that for our September or supervision September. I don't remember the months of the other books because I don't have my schedule in front of us.
Diana Perry Cruz
Three months.
Robert Perry Crews
So like about three months later we'll be doing instruction. I don't know if we'll do them in this order either. We haven't really laid out exactly which ones we want to read when, but the winner in the instructional category was. See, I was sad because I really thought what you need to know about motivation is teaching games was going to win. And it was in the lead for a while. But we got some last minute votes and. And acceptance and commitment. Coaching was the winner of the instructional category. So it's going to be using coaching and training to. With acceptance and commitment skills as well. So that's the winner for instructional category in education. Uncommon Sense Teaching was the big winner there. And that is by Common Sense Teaching by Barbara Oakley, Beth Rogowski and Terry Sejnowski. Uncommon Sense Teaching, Practical Insights and Brain Science to Help students learn. Going to be interesting there. Oh, and the authors of the coaching book were John Oliver and Joe. John Hill and Joe Oliver. Not John Oliver, the comedian. He had nothing to do with that book. John Hill and Joe Oliver.
Diana Perry Cruz
Not Joe Hill and not Joe Son of Stephen King.
Robert Perry Crews
Oh, man, you flip those around and I really want to read that book. I'm sure this one will be fine. But that spooky. What might have been that spooky, hilarious book by Joe Hill and John Oliver. Ah, oh, man.
Diana Perry Cruz
Write to them and see if they can.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah. Maybe get something together. Call their agents. And then finally our. Our book in the kind of, just kind of wild card, just plain fun category, the winner was the Extinction of Experience. Just booting out Autism's False Prophets. And the Extinction of Experience I think is going to be a good one. That's by Christine Rosen. Kind of a follow up to last year's the Anxious Generation. Really? That same idea. Diana, not as, not as impressed. Is that.
Diana Perry Cruz
No, I'm sure it's fine. I just, you know.
Robert Perry Crews
I know. Did you want the theme next year to be books Diana wants, therefore they're the only ones that can win?
Diana Perry Cruz
Kind of.
Robert Perry Crews
Okay. All right. And then finally, and there are a couple caveats here we did originally I had for instructional Learning rft because I wanted to read Learning rft. And I thought if I tell everyone, everyone, I'm going to learn RFT by reading the book. Learn rft, Learning rft, then I totally have to do it. And Alan had said he wanted to do it, but Jackie and Diana were not as interested in that topic. So we said, what if people vote for it as an extra? We'll get a. We'll try to get a special guest on who knows more about RFT to talk us through some rft. So we weren't sure if it would win. So we have not booked that guest. However, if we're able to get either the author of Learning RFT by Nicholas Tornacki or someone else we know, some
Diana Perry Cruz
other folks just letting him know by putting it on this.
Robert Perry Crews
No, I'm not. I'm not putting him on blast. I'm just saying he wrote the book. We want to talk about the book. The first person I would ask would be the author of the book.
Diana Perry Cruz
You're like, Steve, if you're out there. Yeah.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah. Otherwise, you know, Steve Hayes might, you know, see if he'll swing by. Who else? Like Mark Dixon.
Diana Perry Cruz
Right.
Robert Perry Crews
Ruth and Rayfeld. You know, I'm sure they'll be here.
Diana Perry Cruz
They listen to all the preview episodes
Robert Perry Crews
they listen to just in the hopes we mention them and say we want them on the show. No, but we want to get who else we got. We got a lot of, a lot of folks in the field. But our goal is going to be to have another special guest on to sort of help us go through the book. But that's a tbd.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah.
Robert Perry Crews
Because again when we're thinking about it was something that I think is important to have as a topic because we are pretty broad based topic show but it is not our area of expertise. And just like with any guest episode, we want to make sure we have someone so blurring anyone, everyone we ask, saying absolutely no interest in talking to you about this book. We will have even another bonus one. We're not sure when that'll come out, probably later in the year. But that is on the agenda because we just love doing book clubs. We think listeners seem to love listening to the book clubs voting. So we're very excited to do more book clubs when we can. And speaking of, you know, guests and emails and such, we have two that we're going to share. One is from Paula who on the Patreon page made a comment this, on this poll. This was a tough one. We agree, Paula. It was a tough one. And there's a reason that I think every single book lost by that. Well, not every book lost by one, but the two top ones, it was a one vote. So if you're thinking like I don't like voting on polls or does it really matter? I vote on polls. Yes, it does. You, you, you were the deciding vote. Whoever you are that didn't vote, you were going to decide what one or three vote matters. Diana is so mad at you for not voting because she knows you were going to vote for autism's false prophets. She knows you're going to do it. And then you were like, I'm sure someone else will. They didn't. It lost. And she's so mad.
Diana Perry Cruz
There are larger, larger implications to this conversation. Your vote matters and everyone can vote. You do not have to, whatever it's called, pay at the Patreon level to vote.
Robert Perry Crews
You sign up for free.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah, you can sign up for free to, to be on the Patreon and you can vote in all of these things for free.
Robert Perry Crews
Just imagine in this terrible, bifurcated, difricated, trifurcated social media world. If you join us there for free, you can directly reach out to us. And everything's in one place for you. You don't have to go to five different sites to find all the other clips or whatever junk are out there.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah. So it's not a. It's not a pay to play here. You can vote and then you will have a say in what, the listener choice or the book club. Both.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yeah. Episodes are. And we want you to do that because we value your voice and you should value your voice too. So please vote in all the chances that you get.
Robert Perry Crews
Yeah. And I know it works because I made an account on my personal email and then I almost voted so that my books would win, but I thought that would be mean. So I did not. I didn't vote. I didn't vote. I didn't want to tip the scales and start writing comments like, well, this was a great book. I bet Rob shows that if he chooses great books, you'd be a fool not to pick it too. So those are our books. So, you know, pick one, things about that Rob guy. Pick up one, pick up two. You know, maybe pick up the one you were thinking of reading and then you can read it and then no one else wants to read it with you. That's fine. We'll read it with you. We'll be there. Not, you know, right away, but at some point in the near future. So those are some of the book club choices. And then we had a comment from Paula and then Diana, you had another email.
Diana Perry Cruz
Yes, I have one other email to share with everyone. This is from listener Camilla, who wrote in with a Patreon question and I helped her sort through some of that. So I am also here for you as a. What is that? Not an HR Q A. I don't know. I'm a service. Yes, I'm a curse customer. I'm your customer service representative. So if you write into the Gmail account, I will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours.

And she doesn't have to print your CES by hand and use her, you know, inscription pens and pencils anymore. So.
Diana Perry Cruz
No, that's right. You can go to the website, you order the course, and then you complete the quiz at the end. And then it will automatically send you your certificate as well as your certificate will be in the my Dashboard section in perpetuity so you can go back and look at any past episodes you've already gotten the certificate for. To help you keep track. So it's a great new system. Please visit. If you had an account on the old website, you do have to make a new account. They're not. It's not the same password that you had before. Sometimes people are not sure about that. Anyway, I solved Camila's problem and then she wrote back and said that she loves the show. So thank you so much. She let us know that the episode on predicting and preventing mass shootings with Dr. James Mindel was one of her favorites. And then she also noted that she runs a parent training company called Parent Talk. And if you wanted to check it out, it's www.p a r e n t a l k.ie so it means it's Irish. There's only one T in there. So she works with parents, supporting them on a wide range of challenges, and she uses the show to find out about research that she might need to check out more on in order to better support the families that she works with. So, Camilla, thank you so much for writing in.

And Camilla is, is a genuine member of the European continent because she's practices behave. You're analysis within you.
Diana Perry Cruz

I know everyone wants to get back outside into the hot, hot sun. Maybe your AC is broken like ours is and you want to get out of the house. All right, folks. Well, that brings us to the end of our July 2026 preview. We've got guests upon guests upon guests coming up this month. We've still got one more month of summer coming out a little bit later, but we're actually working a little bit ahead, so we might get a little summer vacation ourselves. But we'll hope to see you at the bookstore buying any of those books. We hope to see you in Utica at the UCP Compassionate Care Conference. Maybe check out the Endicott Virtual Conference. You wouldn't see us there because it'd be virtual. That'd be hard to do. Yeah. And all these other great episodes coming out. We're very excited. We hope you're having a great summer, whatever you're able to do, whether it's work or play. But we'll see you next week with the first of those fun filled guest episodes. But until then, keep responding. Bye Bye.
