There is a new AI startup called Rocket and they are offering a, they're calling it a vibe McKinsey style report at a fraction of the cost. And I mean, essentially what's going on here? The reason we wanted to cover this is because for a lot of people in our AI Hustle school community, they're doing, they're becoming AI consultants in their industry. It's something I think is a phenomenal use case. If you have a lot of deep expertise in whatever your industry is, whether that's healthcare or you know, people that like, sell steel or they work in manufacturing, like there's all these different areas. If you know how AI is actively helping your industry, becoming a consultant, going and talking to a lot of the big firms in your industry. You can charge $20,000 for a speaking gig where you go and talk to people. And of course you got to like build out your, some of your social presence and your LinkedIn. Like there's things you got to do. We cover it all in our school community. But you can, you can make a lot of money doing this. This is a side hustle that I've seen a lot of people really, really thrive in because everyone needs to know how to use AI. And the ROI on, you know, if you've cracked the code and you figured some really good stuff out inside of your industry, the ROI on bringing you in and training an organization is really high. So companies are just paying a lot of money for this right now. So I think that's where Rocket is right now. The reason why we wanted to cover this is because I think everybody, if you're doing AI consulting, I think this is an incredible business opportunity. I know people that are charging, I know someone making almost a million dollars a year doing this AI consulting. And they are building a variation of this tool with vibe coded tools like a McKinsey style report for different industries that they work and consult with. And they're vibe coding it, which is so. And I think anyone listening can also do that. But we want to talk about the story because I think anyone can make a lot of money doing this. All right, Jamie, tell us what's cool about Rocket and what their report does.
E
All right, so this Rocket is really a really cool business. They basically connect research, product building and competitive intelligence into a single workflow. So you know, think about if you have a new business idea and you were to go to ChatGPT and they're like, and you're like, I want to start a Pokemon trading card app. And it would be like, wow, that's a wonderful idea. That's the best idea I've ever heard. You should go, totally go for it. Where a tool like this is actually going to show you like, okay, there's already 20 other tools like this. This is how much revenue they do. You know, you're to have a competitive edge, you may have to do this or you might not be able to do anything. You know, I think it's really important to have an honest report and there's, there's a lot of value in that, especially either if you're starting a new business or if you're trying to again have a consultant come in and give you ideas for your business. This, this tool, a Rocket can run reports, figure out what your competitors are doing and then also help you give a competitive advantage over them. So I think it's extremely valuable. I'd be curious to know what they charge for their services. Have you seen anything about that, Jayden?
D
Well, they say a fraction of the cost. I don't think they've explained exactly what a fraction of the cost is. But overall it's interesting because yeah, I mean it's like you're talking to Chat GPT and it's creating you the kind of these like slide decks which McKinsey, you typically pay a McKinsey consultant to come in and review your company and your organization and, and do this big pitch and they, you know, they do a bunch of data analysis and they tell you what to do. And so they're, they're saying that they can come and give those same reports. Now if I'm being honest, I think you can get a lot of the value out of this from knowing what questions to ask and what data should be gathered and working with a tool like Claude Code or Claude cowork to build some of these reports. Like, I think a lot of people could do this, but at the end of the day, a lot of these companies could also do this themselves, and they still go hire McKinsey consultants to come in and tell them what to do. So sometimes it's about knowing the right structure. But I also think, like, literally at the end of the day, you could, you could just say, act like a McKinsey consultant. And if you don't even know the right questions to ask, anyone in any business could say, act like a McKinsey consultant and ask me what questions are, you know, ask me questions that I should give you answers to to help you solve this problem. In my company, you can have that conversation with it. And I think you could get the same, the same kind of responses. Now, will you get a beautiful pitch deck that you can go present to the board? Maybe not right off the bat with ChatGPT, but there's other tools like NotebookLM that can help you build those out using AI tools. So I think a combination of probably Claude and NotebookLM could do everything a McKinsey consultant could do. Assuming you give it all of the correct data and you can get it access to all of the stuff it needs, it will be able to help you find your problem. So I think there's a lot of money to be made in probably that consulting industry. Maybe it won't go away because big companies just like to waste money on things forever, but I think it is definitely gonna be majorly disrupted.
E
I mean, I will say there's a lot of value in having the time savings of having something done for you. Yes, you could go generate your own reports. But for example, Rocket says it draws on more than a thousand data sources for its analyses. So different APIs, different AD libraries. So, you know, it's pulling from all these different sources that, yes, technically you could do yourself, but you're going to be saving a lot of time by having Rocket do it for you. So, and, and that kind of goes back to the AI consultant thing. If you're trying to, to grow a side hustle with AI consulting, really there's a lot of value in knowing about which tools are the best for different use cases. And then if you can apply that to a business and help a business integrate AI or use AI to, you know, improve their, their bottom line, there's a lot of value in that. So I would say, you know, you're in the right place. Listening to a podcast like this, learning about some of These tools and being able to implement them, you can make a lot, a lot of money. Similar to Jaden's friend, he said is making about a million bucks a year doing that.
D
Yeah, it's crazy. Okay, so specifically, and this isn't even a thing I brought, I was thinking before, cause I was like, oh yeah, this is, you know any, you could figure out how to clone this kind of in your own industry. But also you literally could just use Rocket. Their pricing isn't very crazy. They have subscriptions that start at $25 a month for building applications. That's 20 $250 a month for strategy and research capabilities and then $350 for the full platform with a bunch of competitive intelligence things. So if this is something that really would work in your industry rather than just having a, like I, Rocket probably is like oh look, companies are going to spend 350 bucks a month to get all of our insights. As a consultant you could go and do a lot of the same stuff and charge, you know, 3,500, 5,000, 10,000, $15,000. You could go spend 350 for their premium package and you could just use a lot of Rockets reports directly. So there's also I think that option too to literally just use this tool. Apparently the 250 tier can generate, that's what they generates, the quote unquote McKinsey grade research reports. And it can also build products. So it's like it can build a report and then maybe like a little SAS can help you do something which is pretty, pretty powerful. They've raised $15 million from Accel and Salesforce Ventures and Together Fund. So this is a, you know, a pretty seriously backed company and they've grown from about 400,000 to 1.5 million users. They also have an annualized revenue or an annualized average revenue per user of about $4,000. So what that means is they expect every user is going to spend about $4,000 in a year. So if they're on the $250 plan that lets them generate two reports, they're probably generating more than two reports, which means they like it. Like 4 grand a year is fantastic. Another thing that's interesting, they said they're operating at a Gross margin of 50%. 20 to 30% of their customers are small and medium sized businesses and they only have 57 employees. So really interesting company. I, I honestly if you're AI consultant, I think this is a good one to use. But also I think you get a lot of ideas from there and build similar tools for companies you consult with.
E
Yeah, no, I love, I love your idea of using this as an AI consultant to then provide value to companies and then upcharging them. So it's, it's, you know, like, I think, like you said, a $3,500 consulting fee is really not even that. That crazy. And if, if you can have this tool help you do, you know, 90% of it, that's a huge, a huge win and definitely something you should consider if you're interested in AI consulting. Well, anyways, thanks for listening today. If you guys got any value out of this episode, we would love a rating or review wherever you're listening.
