This is episode 145 of UFO Encounters. This episode I'm reading from E.A. sabine's book Strange UFOs and Aliens in My Life. When I have guests on my podcasts, I read their books to work out questions for the episodes. And when reading these books, I always find such amazing information that never makes it into the podcast. And here I get a chance to give you a peek into the book. I've put a link in the book to the show Notes and I did seek permission to record this extract and the author kindly said yes, I'm going to be reading from chapter five which is titled Alien Visit in the Night and this is what Elizabeth has When my kids were all under the age of nine, the three of them shared a bedroom next to mine. One night I woke to find strange creatures on my bed. I always slept with the hall light on so the kids could see if they went to the bathroom in the night. That was the official explanation, but in reality I'd felt the need to sleep with a hallway light on all my life. I was always afraid of the dark. The hallway light being on made it possible to see these creatures clearly. In the night I awakened to the feeling of a heavy weight on me. I opened my eyes and in the dim light I saw a brown hooded creature sitting on top of me. It was about 2 to 3ft tall. I'm not sure if it was sitting or standing since its brown hooded monk like robe completely covered its body. The weight of it held me down. I looked at the phone on my nightstand and was going to call my ex for help, but as soon as I thought of calling someone, I became paralyzed from my neck down. I could still turn my head, but my arms were under the blanket by my side and there was no way I could move with the weight of this creature on me. By the way, I never slept on my back with My arms straight down by my sides and covered up to my neck. That would be an unusual position for anyone to sleep in, I would think. I was terrified. The knowledge that there are beings that can get into your house despite locked doors and windows was very unnerving. The creatures were clearly not of this world or dimension. I'm not saying they were from outer space, but they were clearly not of this dimension. I was traumatized and had never felt fear like that before in my life. I stared into the huge round black eyes and I remember thinking this certainly couldn't be an alien encounter because anything I'd ever read about aliens only ever mentioned slanted eyes, grey skin, and nothing about big round black eyes and brown monk robes. I never got the feeling they were the aliens I'd read about that abducted people and took them aboard UFOs and experimented on them. These beings never gave me that impression at all. These were something worse. In some ways, they were from another dimension. They could go through walls and just appear in the room. There was no way to lock them out. Nothing I'd ever read in my life had prepared me for this being. Before this, I'd forgotten about the first time I'd seen a creature like this on my back porch. After so many years of being told it was a dream as a child, I'd done my best to forget it. As far as I could tell at this time, this was the first time I was seeing such a creature. The big black eyes were surrounded by many wrinkles above and below the eyes. The wrinkles continued down the sides of the cheeks, giving the creature the appearance of being very, very old. Older than any human being I'd ever seen. I felt like it was thousands of years old. The nose and mouth were small, but human like this shocked me because I'd never read anything about alien creatures having human noses. And I was amazed that they had human like mouths. They were very tiny, but they actually had thin lips. I stared at the brown hooded robe the being was wearing and I wanted to feel it, to see if it really was burlap, which is what it appeared to be. It looked as ancient as the creature in it. I moved my head a little to the left as movement caught my eye. There were two more of these beings on my bed and two more came in through the wall, moving so fast they left a visual trail behind them. They zipped across my bed and out into the hallway, scooting across the floor towards my son's room. I was alarmed that the one on me was holding me down. While there were two creatures heading towards my kids. I had no idea what they were going to do to my kids, but I felt like they were there for the purpose of doing something to my kids. And the ones on my bed were there for the purpose of keeping me from interfering. The beings didn't make any sounds, but when they moved, they moved faster than my eyes could follow. They zipped across the hallway, and I could only clearly see them when they stopped. It was like when I looked at them, they froze and stood still for a moment. I looked back at the creature on me, and I was so terrified. It's a miracle I didn't have a heart attack. I was so alarmed and concerned about what the creatures were doing to my kids or going to do to my kids that I was overwhelmed with terror. Whether it was for my benefit or theirs. The creature on me reached toward me with a silver metallic wand of some kind and touch my forehead with it. I didn't even feel the touch of it before I was out. It apparently was a device to put me to sleep. I awoke some time later, thinking, phew, that was a dream. It was so real. Then I realized I couldn't move, and I opened my eyes and the creature was still on top of me. It must have only been a few seconds I'd been out because the creatures in the hole were still in the hole. Maybe being touched with the wand hadn't put me to sleep. Perhaps I'd just fainted in fear. I felt a panic rise up in me as I realized it was real and hadn't been a dream. As I started to panic, the creature sitting on me reached forward with the silver wand again, and I was out as it touched my forehead. I woke up for the third time sometime later, afraid to open my eyes in case they were still there. I could feel the weight still on me, so I opened my eyes slowly. I freaked out when I saw that the creature was still on me. Now the two that had been on my bed zipped out into the hallway, and the other two must have been in the room with the kids. They were five in all that I saw. The panic I felt was unbelievable as I realized that this was a very real thing and these creatures were not leaving anytime soon. I was totally immobilized, and I had no idea what these creatures wanted or would do to me and my family. I was so scared that I could not breathe. The being sitting on me reached forward with the silver wand for the third time, and I was out. Some time later, I don't know how much later I woke up again and didn't dare to open my eyes. I was afraid they would still be there, but it didn't feel like the weight of the creature was still on me, so I slowly opened my eyes. I was overcome with a sense of relief as I realized the beings were gone and it was beginning to get light outside. I jumped out of bed and ran to the kids room next door to check on them. They were all sleeping soundly, alive and okay. I ran back to my room and called my ex explaining all the events of the night and but he insisted it was a dream and nothing to worry about. I do not know who or what those creatures were, where they were from or what they wanted or did, but I do know they were real and this was not a dream. I was frustrated by not being believed. I called my sister and she also believed it was just a dream. I decided I better stop telling people if I didn't want people to think I was insane. I was thankful the creatures were gone and it was morning. Everything always seemed better in the light of day. I felt so guilty about not taking my middle son's claims that monsters were on his bed when he was 2. He was now 7 years old and we'd turn their bedroom into a boys campout room with their mattresses and box springs directly on the floor to remove the under the bed where monsters could hide. When he was two, he had claimed numerous times that monsters had been on his bed at night and I hadn't believed him. I now knew what it felt like when no one believed that I'd seen creatures on my bed. I was alarmed that these were probably the same monsters my son had seen. I was plagued with insomnia after that. I was too fearful to go to sleep at night and for a long time afterward I ended up falling asleep in exhaustion with my bedroom lamp on. I was too afraid to sleep alone, although I stayed up most nights out of fear. The creatures never visited me again while I lived in that house, at least not that I was aware of. It would have been about 10 years before I saw these creatures again. In this episode I was reading from E.A. sabine's book Strange UFOs and Aliens in My Life and my book titled Aspects of Alien Abduction is on Amazon. You can get it on audiobook, paperback or Kindle. Episode: Alien Visit In The Night
Date: August 1, 2026
In this episode, Simon Bown reads an excerpt from E.A. Sabine's book, Strange UFOs and Aliens in My Life, specifically from Chapter Five, "Alien Visit in the Night." The episode focuses on a harrowing personal account of an alien visitation experienced by the author (Elizabeth), including her reactions, descriptions of the beings, and the lasting psychological impact. The narrative provides a firsthand glimpse into alien phenomena, exploring themes of fear, disbelief, parental concern, and the profound uncertainties surrounding such encounters.
The narrative is personal, confessional, and intensely emotional, marked by vivid imagery and palpable fear. Elizabeth’s account is matter-of-fact yet deeply introspective, alternating between clinical detail and raw affect. Simon Bown reads with respect and gravity, allowing the account’s emotional truth to take center stage.
This episode provides a gripping, disturbing look at alleged alien visitation and abduction phenomena. It emphasizes the emotional reality of experiencers, the challenge of seeking support or validation, and the persistent fear such encounters can leave. The excerpt raises questions about the nature of these entities—alien or interdimensional—and the deep human need to be believed.
