Michael
Michael said what? And I might be having a baby. It's one more thing. Armstrong and Getty.
Joe
One more thing. Whoa.
Katie Green
Oh. It's a Katie Green led One More Thing podcast. Very exciting.
Joe
As a man who craves leisure, I appreciate Katie taking the helm here. I will just enjoy.
Michael
All right, so for starters, we have received numerous requests to me, at least on Twitter, on Facebook, and also my Instagram, for people that are saying that they've always heard Jack, Joe, and myself curse on this podcast, but they've never heard Michael, so they want to hear Michael cuss.
Katie Green
I don't know if I've ever heard Michael curse in real life.
Michael
I don't think I have either.
Jack
Well, I'm sure I have.
Katie Green
Do you curse, Michael?
Jack
Yeah. I mean, occasionally. I mean, not all the time, but.
Katie Green
They come kick you in the shin, see what you say.
Michael
Well, I'd like, I'd like for you to pick your flavor and just go for it because the people want it.
Jack
All right, we got. Damn.
Joe
Hell, that's a good.
Jack
And then I'm going to shock you with this racial slur. But honky.
Katie Green
Okay, so Michael is cursed. We've satisfied that knee. We've scratched that itch.
Joe
That's some, Some, but not a single one.
Michael
I feel like that.
Joe
Yeah, that's baby curses. Yeah. Michael, I don't, I don't. I am not in, in favor of this, by the way.
Katie Green
No. If you don't want to hear a part.
Joe
And innocence of spirit.
Katie Green
Yeah. Sully him harlot, if it makes you uncomfortable.
Jack
Oh, no, no, no. I could do it anytime. But, I mean, it's just, I just think it's. The idea is so silly, but, you know. All right, I will. I, I. You want me to get a drum roll or something like that?
Michael
Yes, yes. Listen, we talked before the show about this, so I made sure I wasn't, like, crossing any lines.
Katie Green
I like what I mean, I like the idea of a drum roll. That's pretty funny.
Michael
Let's Get. Let's get like a.
Jack
All right, Let me grab a drum roll first.
Michael
Okay.
Jack
Let me think of the dirtiest word I could ever say.
Joe
No, don't do that.
Michael
Just to be clear, those. Those first three were. Michael, those were pretty low level.
Jack
Okay, well, I'm grabbing the drum roll. Just.
Michael
Here we go. It's coming.
Joe
This is.
Michael
It's coming.
Joe
This is terrible. I do not.
Michael
No, it's not.
Katie Green
Well, then, you know, here we go.
Joe
All right.
Michael
You do the podcast. Drum roll it.
Katie Green
All right.
Jack
Here we go.
Michael
Yes. Woo.
Katie Green
Oh, my God.
Jack
All right.
Michael
I made my day.
Jack
There you go.
Michael
Thank you, Michael.
Jack
You're welcome.
Katie Green
That is some entertainment right there.
Jack
I'm going to go in the restroom and throw up now.
Katie Green
Okay, so that's part one.
Joe
Well, you've betrayed everything that makes you you. I hope you're pleased. Prostituting yourself like that.
Katie Green
How are you gonna look your mom in the eye and you kiss your mom with that mouth?
Jack
I can't anymore, so.
Joe
All right.
Ashley Akadeni
This is Ashley Akadeni from the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast. If you could lose 10.4 pounds in one month, would you try? Katie Green
Okay, part two, Katie.
Michael
Okay, so if I become a little ornery at the beginning of May, you guys will know why. I've talked about how I was hoping this year to have a kid, and we have decided that the end of May is going to be when it happens. I have a kidney disease that is 50, 50% hereditary. And I have found a doctor who is going to take all the eggs out, genetically test them, and find out which ones have the kidney disease and which ones don't.
Katie Green
Oh, they can do that.
Michael
They can do that.
Katie Green
Wow.
Michael
And science is every day. It blows my mind. So they're going to take those eggs, they are going to put Drew's little swimmers in those guys, and then we are going to artificially inseminate, as they say, at the end of May.
Katie Green
Well, so you don't get to have sex.
Michael
Oh, I get to have sex whenever.
Katie Green
I want, Jack, but not for procreation reasons.
Michael
Yeah, it doesn't. Okay. There are several reasons why that doesn't work for Me. Okay. And it all has to do with my. My health situation.
Katie Green
Gotcha.
Joe
Sure. Yeah. Enough said.
Michael
Yeah. But so the fact that the doctor. I'm gonna. So at the end of May, I'm gonna start taking a medication, and for 10 days, I will be on that medication, and then I will be going into the doctor. They're gonna do the procedure where they take the eggs out, and then they're going to find the good ones and put one in and freeze the rest. And we're going to try until it takes.
Katie Green
Interesting. Wow.
Michael
Hopefully.
Katie Green
Is this the sort of thing Trump was trying to ban?
Michael
Yes. Yeah. Damn it, Trump. No, it's not.
Joe
No.
Michael
But hopefully, this time next year, I'll be pregnant and cranky.
Katie Green
Well, yeah, maybe quite a bit sooner than that.
Michael
Yeah. Or actually, no. I don't math well. So I'll probably have a baby by this time next year if it works right off the bat.
Katie Green
I don't know if you're gestating an elephant, but if it's a baby human being.
Michael
Yeah. There you go.
Joe
But, yeah. Wow.
Michael
The fact that this doctor has the ability to. And there are other genetic issues. Like, she. She did a test on both Drew and I, and he tested, I believe, high for muscular dystrophy.
Katie Green
Wow.
Michael
And I tested high for polycystic kidney disease, which is what I have. And then something else. I can't remember what it was.
Katie Green
Does everybody do this now, or is this because you've had health problems? Like, I didn't. We didn't do any of this stuff. But, I mean, it was 15 years ago, and times change.
Michael
So polycystic kidney disease is a hereditary condition, but no one in my family has it. I'm what's called a mutated gene. Shocking. And so I decided to go this route because it's a 50. 50 chance.
Katie Green
But. So why. Why. Why did they check your husband? I mean, is it, like. My question is. Is just routine now? Does everybody do this?
Michael
Well, if you're going to go through genetic testing, they test the partner as well.
Katie Green
Okay.
Michael
So did.
Katie Green
Did insurance cover this, or do you pay for it yourself?
Michael
Save saved for a long time.
Katie Green
Okay. You have to pay for it yourself.
Jack
Interesting lot.
Michael
Lot of saving going on here. But they. They tested Drew, they tested me. So they're going to just take all those eggs out and. And take his sperm and test everything and find out what's good, what's not, put it together, and then that process starts at the end of May.
Katie Green
Wow.
Michael
And I'm very excited.
Joe
And. And. And, yeah, well, we're excited for you and amazed by the science that incredible.
Katie Green
It is. It is amazing. And since Joe and I have been through the experience, we know that we can count on some real mood swings coming our way.
Michael
Yes, you do.
Katie Green
Which would be awesome for the radio.
Michael
Oh, you got. And you know what? You guys have been. I mean, I've been here for two years, so you guys have been with me through multiple mood swings, and I can only assume they're gonna get worse.
Katie Green
Not like pregnancy mood swings.
Michael
I'm gonna be hungry and mad. My ankles are going to be swollen.
Katie Green
Bring it.
Joe
We'll be terrified. Yes. I'm looking forward to that.
Michael
Well, imagine Drew. He's got to live with me, right?
Joe
Oh, I don't have to imagine it, sweetheart. I've bought that ticket and taken that ride many times. Several times. Yeah. Yeah, that's great.
Katie Green
Yeah. Yeah. That's absolutely fantastic. And we're so pro child around here. That's very, very cool.
Michael
So I was thinking maybe I can do the whole labor thing on the air and make a whole segment out of it.
Joe
Oh, sounds like great radio. Yes. Yeah.
Katie Green
Facebook live it.
Joe
Yeah. So we're pro child. You can tell by how childish we are. We're just trying to, you know.
Michael
Right. So you guys worked in San Francisco at the same time that I was there on ksfo. Did you guys come into the building after the placenta had been put in the microwave?
Katie Green
Don't. Don't recall that story.
Michael
All right.
Joe
Oh, my.
Katie Green
No wonder my hot chocolate tasted funny.
Michael
That would be it. So we shared a building with a beautiful rock station based out of San Francisco. And the morning show there had a dear friend of mine who had a baby, and she decided to bring her placenta into the studio after.
Joe
She's gonna make me sick, and I don't know why.
Katie Green
And she brought in. Why?
Michael
Because you might have put your Hot Pocket in there, Joe. That might have been it.
Katie Green
Why? Why did she bring it in? Just to show people or.
Michael
No, for the show, which is absolutely right along the vein of something I would do. I mean, you know, she brought it in, and for whatever reason, the host went, hey, let's cook it.
Katie Green
Oh, my God.
Joe
What the What?
Michael
Yeah. And he stuck it in the microwave.
Katie Green
Some cultures do this. It's a thing. Yeah.
Michael
And somebody on the show took a bite.
Katie Green
Oh, you're kidding me.
Joe
That's. Oh, I'm gonna try. But it is.
Katie Green
I do know that culturally, some cultures do this. It's, like, very regular.
Michael
This had jack f To do with culture.
Joe
Yeah.
Michael
So Basically, the placenta got cooked in the microwave. The entire newsroom and the KSFO studio.
Joe
Oh, my Lord.
Michael
Reeked of whatever the hell that was. I think the show had to purchase a new microwave.
Katie Green
Wow.
Joe
So sickening.
Katie Green
I think we're not gonna do that. I think we do. Did I dream this? Did we talk about it? Do we actually. Do. I think we actually buried ours with a tree we planted. That's a thing also.
Michael
Oh, that's cute. Okay.
Joe
Jack's looking at me like it was us.
Michael
Yeah, I know. That was weird.
Joe
The mother.
Katie Green
I thought maybe you'd remember me talking about it on the air.
Joe
Yes, I do. That does sound familiar.
Jack
I mean, I knew you guys worked together, but.
Michael
Yeah, I didn't know you guys were, like, doing it.
Joe
We've actually had five beautiful children together. I think it's time to, like Katie, come clean about the whole process.
Michael
Yeah, well, they're my dads, you know?
Joe
This is why, Katie, I won't eat polenta because it sounds too much like placenta.
Michael
Oh, come on. Really?
Katie Green
100% true for me. 100% true. I will not eat polenta because it sounds like placenta.
Michael
It's a grain.
Katie Green
No matter.
Michael
Right.
Katie Green
I can't do it.
Michael
That's dumb.
Joe
And I won't Angus beef either, because it's just one tea away from being. That's. I have hot dogs. I eat hot dogs if I want.
Michael
That sounds like Uranus, which Jack apparently is very close to being able to see, according to last.
Joe
So.
Katie Green
Yeah.
Joe
Stupid.
Katie Green
Anyway, well, congratulations. Let's end on that note. Congratulations. And that'll be fun for the show because we get to talk about the whole, you know, if you're. If you're lucky. You've been through this before. The whole getting pregnant, being pregnant, having a baby. Yeah, baby stuff. This will be great for years to come. This is like, you know, it's an aging sitcom. We've been doing this show for a long time. We need to bring in somebody with a baby note.
Joe
See, now it's about him.
Michael
I know the show.
Joe
The show. And not about you and Drew. Beautiful child selling ads.
Katie Green
You know how much the salespeople are going to like this.
Jack
Yeah.
Katie Green
You know, baby stuff.
Joe
I disavow. I disavow.
Michael
Now I will say one thing I'm going to struggle with is I was already at, what my mom. Or not my mom. I'll leave my mom out of this. What my dad and I call a bob, which is a big old. I was 210 pounds. I lost all the weight.
Katie Green
That's right. Yeah. Yeah.
Michael
And so getting pregnant is. It's gonna be a show. We're gonna have fun with this, guys. I think it's relatable. Yeah.
Joe
Yes. It'll all work out.
Michael
I hope so. Oh, thanks, dads.
Joe
Probably.
Katie Green
That is fantastic. Good news for the show.
Joe
Oh, well, I disavow.
Jack
I was gonna tell a story about getting a tropical fish, but Katie blew it out of the water, so. So much for that.
Joe
That's a lovely fish, though, Michael. Very graceful.
Katie Green
And congratulations.
Jack
Well, I guess that's it.
