And now here's Armstrong Strong and Yeti.
Katie Greener
So.
Michaelangelo
The blonde chick and the blue jean ad, you know the story.
Katie Greener
Sydney Sweeney, the one with the boobies.
Michaelangelo
I don't want to know her name, so I try not to. I don't, I don't want things like that in my head.
Katie Greener
She's a big star.
Michaelangelo
I don't need to memorize the name of young starlets. I just, I got to fit other stuff in there. I need to remember my bank password. That's what I need to remember. I don't need to remember her name. I only got so much space.
Katie Greener
Make your bank Password Sydney Sweeney. Sydney 36. 2436, exclamation point.
Michaelangelo
I should do that with all my passwords. What's the password for chess.com? kim Kardashian. What's my password to get into my car? Kanye West. Just all celebrities. Yes. Be easier to remember, actually. And so the, you know, the controversy, if you don't, what are you here for? But they ask people on the street, young people on the street, they're what they think about young women. And here's a whole bunch of them.
Jack Armstrong
The Sydney Sweeney ad. Have you seen it? Oh, yes, I have. What are your thoughts? Trying to calm myself. But that would. Sydney Sweeney has good gene. Really? Like, the eugenics in that. It's dripping with it. And I'm like, no, I get both sides of the argument. Like, she's talking about, like, actual genes. But then I get the other side saying, like, oh, but, like, this could be like a play on words for, like, something else.
Michaelangelo
You're an idiot.
Jack Armstrong
But, like, honest, honestly, I think there's just so much more going on in the world that, like, an ad about Sydney Sweeney isn't something that we need to pay attention to.
Joe Getty
When you saw it, what did you think of?
Jack Armstrong
I mean, I thought, you know, it was disgusting.
Katie Greener
I think it's, it's just showing what.
Jack Armstrong
Kind of country we're turning into.
Katie Greener
It's white supremacy. At the end of the day, that's.
Jack Armstrong
What this ad is representing.
Michaelangelo
Yeah, that's not a good look.
Jack Armstrong
Yeah, I mean she's blonde hair, blue eyed, white woman, you know, very cute. And a lot of things she's been doing online have been a little bit questionable. It seems that she's definitely been, you know, pandering to a certain group of men online. And I've been seeing a lot of people online being like, okay, well if we ran the same ad with a black woman, it would be interpreted differently. What are your thoughts on that? My thoughts on that is that, you know, a black woman probably wouldn't use.
Christina Quinn
The same inflection and you know, they didn't do that.
Jack Armstrong
So, you know, they can say what.
Christina Quinn
Ifs all they want, but the fact of the matter is, is they used.
Jack Armstrong
A white woman to spend a. Send a very specific message.
Christina Quinn
I definitely think if it were a black woman, it would send a different message specifically because that' the world that we've created, that we, that we've grown up in. And so by specifically using a white, you know, a white person, it completely disregards everything that we've spent the last centuries working towards. And, and so that just kind of, it just, it rubs us the wrong way.
Michaelangelo
Wow, there's a lot there.
Katie Greener
The, the last woman actually had an argument. It was Cracker Jack. I mean it was crackpot. It was silly, but at least it had the form of an idea.
Michaelangelo
But can you.
Katie Greener
So the other ones just spouted phrases.
Michaelangelo
Like that for a plate.
Katie Greener
Just one more second. Play, play the first one and see if you can identify a coherent idea in this.
Jack Armstrong
The Sydney Sweeney ad. Have you seen it? Oh, yes, I have. What are your thoughts? Trying to calm myself. But that was. Sydney Sweeney has good gen. Really like the eugenics in that. It's dripping with it. And I'm like, no.
Michaelangelo
No.
Katie Greener
I would be willing to lay a significant amount of money down that she had never heard the word eugenics before this commercial and controversy. She thinks Hugh Jennicks is a guy who commented on the ad.
Michaelangelo
And I, and I know from show history that if we had her on the phone, Joe to said, I got a quick question. When did your boyfriend ha himself?
Katie Greener
She doesn't. She doesn't have a boyfriend. Her boyfriend is Che Guevara or Yaya Sinwar for goodness sakes.
Michaelangelo
But the, the whole weird thing and that I've been asking about this for years now. Is there a History. Is there any time in history that a country has turned on itself culturally the way we have, where we are there examples. Did Greece do this? Did the Romans do this at some point where they. They hated themselves and they, you know, bring in the barbarians. We're terrible people.
Katie Greener
And.
Michaelangelo
And so a white woman. Oh, that is just horrible. Even though that is the biggest group of people in America, portraying one is out of bounds.
Katie Greener
It's the last gal who had an idea, though it was completely ridiculous. Was. Yes. Featuring an attractive white woman selling jeans was just set us back a couple hundred years. After all we tried to accomplish, you know, trying to have black people have their constitutional rights. Good point, sweetheart. Well, well said.
Michaelangelo
Hmm.
Katie Greener
Good Lord, that is something. Meanwhile, in another front on the culture war, all the attention to Texas is being paid to the whole redistricting thing. And the hypocrisy of both sides calling out this undemocratic gerrymandering is just so cute. It's so sweet. They're all liars. But this is Alex Stein. Do you know Alex's act? He does his act sometimes for the Blaze, Glenn Beck's outfit, but he's a provocateur. One of his main things is he goes to hearings, public hearings, government hearings, and gives these speeches. He first gained a little fame in Covid because he was so frustrated with a lot of the COVID policies, which I appreciate, but. But here he is testifying in Texas. It's 12, Michael, number 12. About men in women's private spaces, specifically, quote, unquote, transgender people.
Michaelangelo
Welcome. Introduce yourself. Go ahead.
Alex Stein
My name's Alex Stein. I'm considered one of the sexiest men in conservative politics. And one thing I want to say, a lot of people are going to hear my testimony. You're going to say you're anti lgbtq. I want to say that's impossible because I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan, so obviously, I have a lot of gay pride. But, you know, a lot of conservatives like yourself, you want to outlaw transgenders and women's sports. I disagree. I like transgenders and women's sports because you can gamble on them and win money. And I won so much money on Lia Thomas's propeller in that pool, I almost turned draft kings. Excuse me, into draft queens. Now, when we come to the bathroom build, though, this is an asymmetrical problem, because, first of all, no dude cares if, like, a bisexual woman comes in there and tries to use, like, a pee funnel. You know, some lady boy comes in there, some, you know, stud comes in there, wants to pee in the urinal. No guy is going to be threatened by, you know, a trans woman. But we don't want these gargoyles in a dress, you know, some chick with a dick coming in there and trying to pee or poop next to my girlfriend, because that's disgusting. Well, I'm just going to say something. Listen, I want to. As my first Amendment right. Let me just think. So we're sick of these transgenders trying to invade women's personal spaces. These people have autogynephilia. They're sexual perverts, and they actually get satisfaction from going there and looking under a stall. So these are mentally ill people that are on hormones, that are on all kinds of pills, they're impulsive, and they do not belong in a women's restroom. So some of you lesbians want to come in and pee next to me, you're more than welcome. So we just don't let the chicks with dicks in the. In the women's room. And you guys are all welcome in the men's room. I think that works.
Katie Greener
Thank you very much. So.
Michaelangelo
Thank you very much. When. When did the shouting start? When he dropped the C with D comment. Was that what turned people off or.
Katie Greener
Was it peeing and pooping? That part. Yeah, the. The crowd got stirred up there. Wow.
Michaelangelo
Wow. Did that help. Did that help the national conversation? I don't think so.
Katie Greener
No. I didn't find it at all amusing either. I wish. Mr. Stein.
Michaelangelo
No. Yeah, right.
Katie Greener
Oh, did he crashed an MSNBC live shot following his testimony. I hate to hear that, Michael. Next clip 13. We just watched the speaker gavel out.
Michaelangelo
With a whole lot of anger.
Katie Greener
Kelly. Here's the state of play.
Michaelangelo
Here's this.
Alex Stein
NBC. Socks.
Michaelangelo
How are you?
Alex Stein
MSNBC sucks.
Katie Greener
Talk to you for a second?
Alex Stein
MSNBC sucks.
Katie Greener
Okay. Sometimes this happens, and we understand that that can happen.
Christina Quinn
And while we love free speech, we're.
Michaelangelo
Going to keep control here. Yeah, I don't like that as much. I don't like.
Katie Greener
No, that's just rude.
Michaelangelo
Yeah, that's. That's just.
Katie Greener
There was no cleverness there.
Michaelangelo
No, no, no, no. That's. That's just basically heckler's veto there. You're just not letting people talk.
Katie Greener
Yeah, yeah. Come on, Alex. Do better.
Michaelangelo
That other one I liked, though. So what was that group he was speaking to? What was the setting?
Katie Greener
The Texas legislature.
Michaelangelo
They let you talk that long, you got a public.
Katie Greener
It's probably 60 seconds. No, that was a little longer than that. Maybe you get two minutes.
Michaelangelo
I'm sure people say Crazier s than that.
Katie Greener
Yeah. Yeah, I would agree.
Michaelangelo
I like him referring to the people as transgenders.
Katie Greener
Do you? Well, and. And he. I hate to even say this. He used trans woman when he meant trans man.
Michaelangelo
Of course I get confused.
Katie Greener
80% of the population does.
Michaelangelo
Yeah. I rarely am at a. An establishment that doesn't have an all gender bathroom. Maybe that's a California thing. But almost never do I go to a bathroom anywhere where it's not. What do they call it? Gender neutral or whatever.
Katie Greener
Yeah, all genders. Yeah.
Michaelangelo
Yeah.
Katie Greener
They changed those states and a few.
Michaelangelo
Airports, so I don't have a sense of it how much of the rest of the country is doing that. But like for California, they changed all the bathrooms for a tiny percentage of people.
Katie Greener
Yeah, no, no, it's. It's just a handful of places in America that do that with the net result. I mean, it's a pretty good handful of places. Blue cities, but I'm surprised.
Michaelangelo
Well, I guess I'm not, but women should complain because women always had the better restroom at the bathroom.
Katie Greener
A lot of women are convinced that to be a good person you have to go along with the progressive thing and to fight it is bigoted. And so they silence themselves. It's like the whole. You quoted a couple of women who said this, the angry, unstable junkies in your town that you are the bad person for judging them. So these women actually ideology trumps their need for self preservation, their instinctive reaction to danger, and they squash it down.
Michaelangelo
That trigger you with something. Katie, before we take a break.
Katie Greener
Oh, just the days of going into the bathroom and just knowing it's going to be clean are long over. Since the. The gender neutral and even in the females restrooms now.
Michaelangelo
I don't know. Why do I know this? When was I ever in a woman? I must have been in a women's restroom in some situation in my life. But I remember thinking, wow, it's so much cleaner than the dude's restroom. It's just like night and day. But of course, that's over now because there's no such thing as a men and women's restroom because that would be bigoted or hateful or something.
Katie Greener
Again, in some parts of the country, that is true. It is far from all of them.
Michaelangelo
Finally pay off that beanbag chair story.
Katie Greener
Luxury beanbag chairs among all the things no 1976 hippie. I'm not laying around in no bean bag.
Michaelangelo
My son's got a lava lamp he got. He bought off ebay.
Katie Greener
So cool.
Michaelangelo
So cool. Stay here.

Do you see this? After a shockingly weak jobs report, Trump claimed the numbers were rigged to make him look bad. So he fired the commissioner in charge.
Michaelangelo
Of reporting the unemployment numbers.
Katie Greener
On the way out, the commissioner was like, and that's one less job for August. So Trump said he'll announce a new commissioner in the next few days. So far the front runner is Sydney Sweeney. But we'll see where we land.
Michaelangelo
We don't know.
Christina Quinn
We don't know.
Michaelangelo
So NBC announced they re signed Jimmy Fallon through the end of 28, I guess. So he, he is much less political show. I don't know if that has anything to do with it or not. I don't know if it makes more money or costs less. I don't have any idea of any of that sort of stuff. But it's going to stick around for a while. Remember, we were interested to find out that Stephen Colbert, the average age of Stephen Colbert's audience was 68. And I wonder what it is for the evening newscast because I was going to have Hanson grab this clip. I didn't at one point, David Muir on the ABC evening news last night says, and with the death of Lonnie Anderson, we'll hear from Barbara Eden on her thoughts. And I thought, who do you think your audience is? Barbara Eden from I Dream of Jeannie, which aired in the 60s. Now I realize it had a life in reruns, but that TV show was on in the 60s. So you're gonna have that person comment on somebody else who died from the 70s. How old is your audience?
Katie Greener
Yeah, I'd like to dig into that because I, I'm shocked every time I hear the answer to that sort of question. Like when it was Letterman, the average age was 60 and now it's 68, which is just crazy.
Michaelangelo
Yeah.
Katie Greener
Anyway, that Are old lefties, I guess.
Michaelangelo
Right. I mentioned luxury. According to the New York Times. I didn't know this but luxury beanbag chairs are having a moment and they did a big review of a variety of them. And they don't have to cost a thousand dollars. The one they like the most cost a thousand bucks. And you can order it on Amazon. The almost perfect beanbag chair. Massive selection of colors and textures to choose from. Does not dominate the room. Feels like floating inside a hug. No cracked tailbone as butt meets floor. Luxurious and fantastic. It'll be your favorite piece of furniture. You'll send it in. Their theory is you buy one of these things and it seems ridiculous. This is what you'll sit in. And all the time. So you spent however much money you sit on your couch or your whatever. Chairs. This is what you're going to sit in all the time. Because it's so comfortable. You have a beanbag chair you like, Katie?
Katie Greener
I had one and yes. You will sit in it. You will sleep in it. It will become your favorite thing.
Michaelangelo
I have had a problem with dogs urinating on our beanbag chairs. That happen to you?
Katie Greener
That's why I said had. My sweet senior dog had an accident on it and it could not be revived.
Michaelangelo
Dogs love sleeping on a beanbag chair. They can just kind of get comfy down in there and then they do their business or it smells like a dog.
Katie Greener
Do your dogs pee on other furniture, Katie? No. Just beanbag chair. This was when she was getting older and had an accident. She. She didn't pee on stuff. No.
Michaelangelo
I have not had that problem with anything but beanbag chairs. But the. Really? Especially when we had multiple dogs. The one dog will kind of try to claim it as its place to sleep and then the other dog will say no you didn't and urinate on it.
Katie Greener
I wish they had another way to claim things.
Michaelangelo
I know. Like a sign or. Right. A post it note would be handy.
Katie Greener
Exactly. A. What do you call on the wine glass? The. The. The. It's a little wine glass charm.
Michaelangelo
Yeah.
Katie Greener
Yeah.
Michaelangelo
It would be perfect.
Katie Greener
Is this your wine? Yes. I'm the little car. There you go. Right. So you don't get mixed up and somebody else's spit on your glass. Yuck.
Michaelangelo
So get yourself a luxury beanbag chair. What was it? I don't have time for the other thing. So what can I tell you? Can I tell you anything? I don't know?
Katie Greener
Nothing you haven't told us 100 times before. How do you like this headline? A giant tub of mayonnaise married my friends sponsored weddings.
Michaelangelo
Ah, I love that idea. I want to talk about that. Maybe we do that in the podcast. Hey Hanson, did you grab the Nebraska congressperson who got booed at his town hall yesterday? I want to get that on because the topic was really interesting. I don't know if it was an astroturf. Democrats came in. Blah. I don't know. Either way, the topic was damn interesting for this Republican congressman that got booted a town hall yesterday.

Will lead this city by making it.
Katie Greener
More affordable and here are my plans, real plans.
Jack Armstrong
Plans to deliver on childcare, plans to.
Katie Greener
Deliver on housing, plans to deliver, we're going to experiment. We're going to try things on groceries.
Jack Armstrong
That is the democratic message.
Michaelangelo
So that's Elizabeth Warren pushing socialism. She's up with mum Donnie because government run grocery stores and rent price fixing and all that sort of stuff is a good idea in her world.
Katie Greener
I hate we're going to try things that have failed over and over again.
Michaelangelo
I hate talking about this all the time because to a certain extent I feel like, God, that's such tired talk radio. It's been talked to death. We have to constantly attack that side because they're constantly pushing that crap. I just, it's amazing to me that. How does that live? It's been tried endlessly. It's never even come close to succeeding on any level. What? Why?
Katie Greener
Yeah, well, because it's, it's. It's such an interesting phenomenon that I was unaware of until I read the book the Myth of the Rational Voter, which is that on certain economic matters like rent control, if you just give people the introduction to the topic, they love the idea in overwhelming numbers. It makes perfect sense to them. Then after little explanation, virtually everybody realizes, oh, that's a Terrible idea. But there are certain ideas that at first blush are really appealing. So you can dupe young voters and soft heads, but mostly young voters, into going for him over and over every generation.
Michaelangelo
So our friend Craig, Craig texted Joe and I the other day personally and he mentioned a seven year old me being ex. Having socialism explained to me and I've never looked back. And it was. I asked about that as a seven year old. Well, why do. Why don't they just give everybody the same amount? And then. And my dad said, because nobody would try then. And I thought, oh, okay, that makes sense. And I've never considered socialism since that was all I needed. Right, because that makes perfect sense.
Katie Greener
Do you want to elaborate a little bit and say that people only work for two reasons, reward or to avoid punishment. And since you're reducing or eliminating the reward, all that's left is punishment. Do you want to live in that world?
Michaelangelo
Anyway, the reason I wanted to have that set up was this congressman from last night in Nebraska. His name is Mike Flood, and he was having a town hall in Nebraska, a solidly red district that he has won by double digits multiple times. Man. One of the problems with our current gerrymandering system, not to get off on that topic again with what they're doing in Texas and they've already done in California, Illinois, New York and everywhere else, is the only way you can lose is to somebody else in your party who's more extreme to the right or left than you. And that, that's not good. But. So MSNBC particularly loves these clips of Republicans getting booed at their town halls and tries to portray that as. See how far off track the Republican Party is. I know for a fact in some of these cases, they just did a good job of getting activist lefties in there to boo the guy or the woman. And that's what's happening most of the time. Whether that's happening or not here is kind of interesting, really. I mean, if this is his own crowd booing him, it's horrific. If it's the Democrats booing him, that's also a problem because now we're, you know, I don't even know what town halls are. If, if we're busing in people from the other side to boo, this is a portion of it.
Jack Armstrong
Why did you cut SNAP and healthcare?
Michaelangelo
We do not have unlimited money in the United States. In 2019, our country spent $60 billion on SNAP.
Katie Greener
During COVID that number went to $100 billion.
Michaelangelo
So I don't know anything about his particular district. But I don't believe in rural red state America, rural counties, that people were booing like crazy. The idea of cutting back on government handouts of the food after a single.
Katie Greener
Sentence of his response, no, that was. Activists bust in to do what they just did, period.
Michaelangelo
And later in the speech, he says something about, uh, a, a 29 year old man without a job who's perfectly healthy, shouldn't be getting free handout food from the taxpayers. And somebody in the crowd yelled, yes, they should. They deserve it. I, I don't remember if it was food or healthcare was one of the two. And the crowd said yes. He diverted and the crowd cheered like crazy. So once again I'm supposed to believe that red, red, rural America is for free healthcare and free food for healthy men who don't want to work. I just don't believe that.
Katie Greener
Yeah, no, well, no, they don't. They don't believe that.
Michaelangelo
Okay. Yeah, I was gonna say, if that is the case, we are so far past the point of doomed, speaking of socialism that it's. There's no fixing it. I don't, no point in even talking about it. Let's just, let's just do celebrity interviews for the rest of our careers. Because once red state America is bought into the we all deserve stuff for free, then it's really over.
Katie Greener
Coming up, Barbara Eden's thoughts on Lonnie Anderson.
Michaelangelo
Stay with us.
Katie Greener
No, yeah, the whole. And it's a shame the whole town hall thing has become ruined now because it's just a publicity stunt like everything else, to get some great footage on MSNBC or whatever.
Michaelangelo
Just came across this story. Want to get some of these? First of all, a man has been charged with disorderly conduct for throwing that sex toy on the floor at the WNBA game. It's not.
Katie Greener
Certainly not Orden.
Michaelangelo
Right.
Katie Greener
Sorry.
Michaelangelo
I.
Katie Greener
Knocked my computer over gesturing.
Michaelangelo
Somebody sent me a picture of the thing that got thrown on the floor at the WNBA game. It was a, it was a marital device. If you're, if your marriage is struggling, you buy this device. You probably get it from your doctor and, and you use it in a loving manner to increase something or other satisfaction. Yes, Kate.
Katie Greener
And apparently it comes in a rainbow of colors because this one was like nuclear reactor spill green. Twas a glow stick. No, I was just enjoying watching you talk your way through that, that's all.
Michaelangelo
Yeah, I don't like that. I've never said that word in my life and I don't like it.
Katie Greener
What? Dildo? Yes. See, I was gonna say rhymes with schmildo. But that's a horrible word.
Michaelangelo
I don't know why. Just I find it off putting. But anyway, somebody sent me it because I was texting with somebody about the story and they sent me a, like, close up picture of the thing. And on my phone, it didn't show me the text. It said, you're about to receive sensitive sexual material of a sexual nature. Are you sure you're okay to view it?
Katie Greener
Ah.
Michaelangelo
And I clicked yes. And then it said underneath it, if this disturbs you, remember, there is help out there. And it gave me a phone number.
Katie Greener
To call on my phone, never mind help. Where do I order one? How'd you like to work that hotline?
Michaelangelo
I almost wanted to call the number I should have. Yes. Somebody just sent me a picture of a. Say the word, Joe dildo. Somebody just sent me a picture of one of those and I'm disturbed. I mean, you said, if I'm disturbed, I'm disturbed. What can you do for me?
Katie Greener
I don't know what to do. I don't know who to talk to. I don't know of anything anymore. There was a glowing green. Glowing green fake schwantz on the floor of a WNBA game. I don't know if I can carry on.
Michaelangelo
So I assume that is AI on my iPhone to stop dick pics from being sent around.
Katie Greener
Richard pictures. Yes.
Michaelangelo
Which I guess is as common as common can be, even for, like high school girls, which is. I don't know, know, maybe if you've. Maybe, maybe if it becomes ubiquitous enough, it'll no longer have any effect. But I guess it's to stop that from happening on your phone. And it says, you're about to get a picture of one. Are you sure you want to see it? And then it gives you a phone number to call if you're.
Katie Greener
That's beautiful. If you're upset, that's kind of universal through all the social media outlets as well, too. Like, if you're scrolling on Instagram and there's something deemed inappropriate, it does the same thing.
Michaelangelo
But I should have called. If you call the phone number.
Katie Greener
Well, let's send you another picture and then see if the number pops back up.
Michaelangelo
Well, what are you gonna say? I love this idea, Joe, don't send me yours. I don't want to.
Katie Greener
Know. I won't. Trust me.
Michaelangelo
Call the phone number and say, okay, I got a picture of one. I am. I don't know which way's up. I mean, I'm lost. Is a sunset even beautiful anymore? After I've seen This. I don't know.
Katie Greener
If you're a 12 year old or something, it would be useful to have someone to reach out to, I suppose to report it, but.
Michaelangelo
Yeah. Is there anybody that wouldn't click? Be curious enough to click. I need to see what this is, so.
Katie Greener
Well, Right. No, not everybody will. Everybody will, of course. Unless you're a nun or something. I had an interesting discussion with a couple of buddies the other day about.
Michaelangelo
The infamous nun who has friends who send you pictures of sex toys. Exactly.
Katie Greener
Or strangers. Who knows, maybe strangers at the old somebody on the crowded bus or subway car or whatever. Just trolls for who's got their airdrop set to anybody. Oh, and then that's when they. They hit you with the. The dp. That's disgusting. Anyway, I had this discussion with a couple of friends, several friends, and there was no consensus reached the hurling of the marital aid onto the floor of the WNBA game for novelty purposes only. Did that have a specific message or was it just to be silly and shocking?
Michaelangelo
I think that second one. What would the message possibly be?
Katie Greener
Well, that was the discussion.
Michaelangelo
I'm reading Ulysses, which is all full of imagery. I should be better at figuring this out. What are. What. What is the. What is the underlying message that's being sent here?
Katie Greener
Something to do with the fact that a number of the ladies are allegedly not heterosexual.
Michaelangelo
But what's that got to do with anything.
Katie Greener
On the court? Yeah, Katie, I know, I know, I know.
Michaelangelo
See, I could see doing that if there's suspicion of a trans woman competing against women.
Katie Greener
All right. Wow. Do I have to spell this out for him?
Jack Armstrong
Yeah, I really didn't.
Michaelangelo
Well, what. But what. What's your.
Katie Greener
I was gonna leave it unset.
Michaelangelo
What's your message? What is your message?
Katie Greener
Am I the hurler in this case or my message sitting here now?
Michaelangelo
The hurler. What was the hurler's message?
Katie Greener
You ladies aren't into fellas. You'll. You'll need this.
Michaelangelo
Okay.
Katie Greener
All right. Roughly.
Michaelangelo
Well, then. Then that gets back to the other one. That's just to be shocking and funny. Right.
Katie Greener
Right.
Michaelangelo
But because that's not the best way. If you need that, you don't get it from a fan throwing it on the floor. I would assume you'd order.
Katie Greener
Oh, no, that's right. From a website that ensured your confidentiality in a plain brown rapper.
Michaelangelo
Exactly. Right. And. Yeah, exactly. You don't know where it's been.
Katie Greener
I'd boil it, but I mean, if somebody throws like a stuffed alligator onto the court, well, they're probably a Florida fan, but whatever. I just, that would something just wacky as opposed to a specific sort of wacky. That's what I'm asking. I think it was laden with, with messaging and imagery. They weren't rummaging around in their belongings thinking, you know, I'd really like to throw something on the court. What do I have here? Oh, that's right, the fake schwants. I'll throw that. No, it was deliberately chosen.
Michaelangelo
So you think it was. I can't say the word. It'd be better if I could say the word, but I can't. I can't make myself say and has.
Katie Greener
Anybody dug up the play by play sound of when that happened?
Michaelangelo
Does that just that we played a couple of days ago? That would be him.
Katie Greener
Oh, that's, that's, that's inappropriate. The one play by play. Well, yeah, I would agree.
Michaelangelo
Yeah, I would agree.
Katie Greener
It's not orderly conduct and it is not appropriate. I would agree.
Michaelangelo
Yeah. So. So you believe it was social commentary of.
Katie Greener
Of a sort.
Michaelangelo
Yes. A D dipped in irony.
Katie Greener
As indeed.
Michaelangelo
Exactly. Okay, we will finish strong. Stronger than this. We'll finish strong.

Imprisoned sex trafficker abuser information I had yesterday's sound sheet. That is not what I wanted at all. I have no interest in that story whatsoever.
Katie Greener
I was gonna say that's not really as cheerily cheery as you sold it to us.
Michaelangelo
Sound sheet. Sorry about that. Made a mistake. It was an error. I take full responsibility. Oh, so impressive that Nebraska congressman we played a little bit ago. So the New York Times, it's interesting. They even say in their headline a GOP congressman faced his voters. It wasn't pretty. Most Republican lawmakers are avoiding town hall meetings, reluctant to confront energized Democrats and answer tough questions. So they, they just. Yeah, it's just in their headline that it's Democrats that are showing up to the Republican town hall. The Republican. The Republican representatives down all and booing the crap out of them. Well, what, what does anybody learn from that?
Katie Greener
Well, and what's. What's wrong with it? Isn't that. Exactly. Because if I live in the district of Congressman X, whether he's of my chosen party or not, he is my congressional representative.
Michaelangelo
True.
Katie Greener
And I certainly ought to be able to petition him for the redress of my grievances. The problem is that's not what it'. About. It's about shouting and chanting and. And the heckler's veto and that they're not asking intelligent questions, getting the answer and then saying, but I think the flaw in your reasoning is X. None of that is happening. It's just shouting and cheerleading.
Michaelangelo
Final thoughts with Armstrong. Getting. Here's your host for final thoughts, Joe Getty.
Katie Greener
So many people. Oh, we were too soon. Sorry. Let's get a final thought from everybody on the show before we wrap things up for the day. Michelangelo, lead us off. Well, with Bing Bags making a comeback. You got to get on this. Water beds. Water beds are going to make a comeback.
Michaelangelo
The worst idea ever.
Katie Greener
Put all your money into water beds. They're going to make a comeback.
Michaelangelo
I'm glad I was 20 when I was experiencing the waterbed world. Mostly cuz an unbaffled waterbed, you better have a yellow a young back to get in now that thing.
Katie Greener
Yeah. The only upside was the warmth on this chilly winter night.
Michaelangelo
You live in a cold climate. That was the best.
Katie Greener
Yeah. Katie Greener, esteemed newswoman, has a final thought. Katie, one of the funnier things I remember from my childhood was my guy friend jumping onto a waterbed and going right through it. Oh, oh, right through it. Unfortunate. It's a long cleanup for that. Jackie, final thought for us didn't get.
Michaelangelo
To this news story. Nuclear power on the moon is critical to US Space exploration. So we are going to move quickly to build nuclear reactors on the moon. How are people going to react to that?
Katie Greener
That's a fascinating idea and an obvious solution. What are you going to do? Get natural gas up there, right? Propane tanks, Send up one each. My final thought thought is there's a lot of good stuff we didn't get to today and we'll get to it tomorrow.
Michaelangelo
Okay, that's your final thought.
Katie Greener
For instance, the number of black adults who think DEI backfires is almost twice as many as the number of white people who think that.

This is an iHeart podcast.
Podcast Summary: Armstrong & Getty On Demand – Episode: Richard Pictures!
Release Date: August 5, 2025
Host/Authors: Jack Armstrong, Joe Getty, Michaelangelo, Katie Greener
Podcast: The official, On-Demand podcast of The Armstrong & Getty Show! Accept no substitutes!
The episode opens with a heated discussion about a recent advertisement featuring actress Sydney Sweeney. The hosts analyze the ad's underlying messages and its broader societal implications.
Jack Armstrong initiates the conversation:
"Have you seen the Sydney Sweeney ad? It's dripping with eugenics, and I'm like, no, this isn't something we need to pay attention to." (05:17)
Joe Getty shares his perspective on the racial undertones:
"It's white supremacy. At the end of the day, that's what this ad is representing." (05:40)
Katie Greener adds to the critique by highlighting the choice of representation:
"If it were a black woman, it would send a different message, specifically because of the world we've created and fought for over the centuries." (06:20)
The hosts unanimously condemn the advertisement, emphasizing how it perpetuates white-centric ideals and disregards the progress made towards racial equality.
Transitioning from racial issues, the podcast delves into the contentious topic of gender-neutral bathrooms and the societal reactions surrounding them.
Michaelangelo questions the practicality and societal impact:
"Women should complain because women always had the better restroom. Now, with gender-neutral bathrooms, that advantage is lost." (14:00)
Katie Greener discusses the psychological and cultural implications:
"A lot of women are convinced that to be a good person, you have to support progressive changes, even if it compromises their comfort and safety." (14:29)
Jack Armstrong reinforces the backlash against these changes:
"Women used to have cleaner restrooms; now, with gender-neutral options, that standard has been compromised." (15:12)
The hosts express frustration over the perceived decline in restroom standards and the cultural shift towards inclusivity, which they argue comes at the expense of women's comfort and safety.
A significant portion of the episode focuses on the political landscape, specifically addressing gerrymandering and its effects on town hall meetings.
Michaelangelo critiques the current state of town halls:
"Most Republican lawmakers are avoiding town hall meetings because they know they face tough questions and energized Democrats." (30:02)
Katie Greener highlights the manipulation within these events:
"MSNBC portrays Republican town halls as failing, but often these disruptions are orchestrated by activist leftists to create drama." (31:54)
Joe Getty emphasizes the loss of genuine dialogue:
"Town halls have become more about shouting and less about intelligent discourse, which undermines the purpose of these forums." (46:40)
The discussion underscores how gerrymandering and partisan tactics have transformed town halls into hostile environments, detracting from meaningful political engagement.
The hosts shift gears to a lighter yet perplexing incident at a recent WNBA game where a sex toy was thrown onto the court, sparking curiosity and debate.
Michaelangelo describes the incident:
"A sex toy was thrown on the floor during the game. Was it meant to be just silly and shocking, or was there a deeper message?" (35:05)
Katie Greener speculates on the possible motivations:
"It could be social commentary, but honestly, it seemed more like an attempt to be wacky and grab attention." (39:27)
Jack Armstrong questions the rationale behind such actions:
"What message is being sent by throwing a marital aid on the court? It just seems inappropriate and out of place." (39:34)
The incident serves as a springboard for the hosts to discuss the balance between humor, shock value, and meaningful messaging in public events.
In a lighter segment, the hosts explore trends in home furniture, specifically focusing on the resurgence of luxury beanbag chairs and the nostalgic return of waterbeds.
Michaelangelo shares a humorous anecdote:
"I remember a friend jumping onto a waterbed and going right through it. Long cleanup!" (47:27)
Katie Greener reflects on the comfort and practicality:
"Luxury beanbag chairs reviewed by the New York Times are surprisingly affordable and incredibly comfortable." (22:09)
This segment provides a humorous and relatable break from the heavier topics, highlighting evolving interior design trends.
As the episode concludes, the hosts offer their final reflections on the diverse topics discussed.
Michaelangelo expresses concern over political discourse:
"Once red state America is bought into the idea that everyone deserves things for free, it's really over." (29:31)
Katie Greener underscores the societal shifts:
"Establishments are moving towards gender-neutral bathrooms, but it's far from universal and met with significant resistance." (15:32)
Jack Armstrong reiterates the central theme:
"The Sydney Sweeney ad isn't just about marketing; it's a reflection of deeper societal issues that we need to address." (05:17)
The hosts wrap up by emphasizing the importance of addressing underlying societal tensions while maintaining a balance between humor and serious discourse.
Notable Quotes:
Jack Armstrong (05:17):
