Deadly lit room deep within the bowels of the Armstrong and Getty Communications compound to kick off a brand new week. Here we are under the Tutelage of our general manager.
Joe Getty
Yeah, boy. Yeah. March Madness. A lot of great games over the weekend could go with that, huh?
Jack Armstrong
Oh, my God. St. Louis State got knocked off by California, University of Fresno. And a double technical at the buzzer. You don't see that very often.
Joe Getty
Come on. Oh.
Jack Armstrong
Broke my bracket. Hey, how y'all doing, man? I don't know where you all live because we're on all over the country, but it was the greatest weather of the year yesterday here, so we were out riding bikes and. And playing tennis and running around. It was so nice. Oh, I got spring fever. Just deep into my bones.
Joe Getty
I want to reproduce. Wrong. You go. Go.
Jack Armstrong
I want to reproduce.
Joe Getty
Please do your part for America's falling birth rates. That needs to be our new cause. That needs to be our. Our big, you know, RG Hod get together, get pregnant without two gets. That's just off the top of my head.
Jack Armstrong
You got to be in a committed relationship, though. You can't just be popping out kids like your Elon Musk.
Joe Getty
I think that's assumed. At least in my world it is. Perhaps we should clarify that in our bylaws.
Jack Armstrong
Okay.
Joe Getty
I assume we're going to have bylaws and a mission statement in a lavish entertainment budget.
Jack Armstrong
Yeah. So welcome to basically the last week of March. And I just. So I've got this fresh in my head because I watched it when I got up this morning. I hadn't seen 60 Minutes last night till this morning. Did you see the stuff on the Canadian border? Good on 60 Minutes. You know, complaints about that show, but there they are, highlighting the number of illegals and the amount of fentanyl has been coming across the Canadian border and how easy it is right now and how the Mexican Sinaloa cartel is running the whole thing in Canada.
Joe Getty
Good Lord. I gave up on 60 minutes a week too early. That is remarkable for its obvious, you know, reinforcement of various MAGA claims.
Jack Armstrong
Oh, yeah. Had to be dead. To get tremendous pushback from a lot of their viewers. How dare you say this?
Joe Getty
It's.
Jack Armstrong
It's obviously smaller numbers of people and smaller amounts of fentanyl compared to Canada, but that's kind of a ridiculous thing.
Joe Getty
Mexico. Yeah. Huh?
Jack Armstrong
Yeah. Compared to Mexico, it's kind of a ridiculous measuring stick since that's the most porous, dangerous border between any two real countries on planet Earth.
Joe Getty
Well, if I got one neighbor on each side, one squeezes off 10 shots a day at me, the other one squeezes off two shots a day, I'm still kind of pissed off. At two shots a day, guy. And I probably ought to call a realtor, but if you, if you see my point. Wow.
Jack Armstrong
Didn't you, like, look around before you bought the house at all, Honey, this.
Joe Getty
Neighborhood, I mean, great schools, but it's way shootier than we thought.
Jack Armstrong
But so it was interesting. In 60 minutes, Highlight highlighted this. They have ads on Facebook and Tick Tock and all these different places. And they showed some of the ads in various languages for around the world of. With music in the background. I mean, it's like a produced sales piece from the cartel on Want to go to America? And they show some, you know, nice woman from India who said, they took me across in two days and now I live in America. And then they would show some other people and then contact us today for your trip to the United States.
Joe Getty
Wow. And what was it two years ago that you could get banned from Facebook for, you know, whatever social media platform for saying, you know, I think the Wuhan virus might have come from that Wuhan virus labor. Right. But now you can be the Sinaloa cartel, you know, with beautiful ads like you're describing.
Jack Armstrong
Tick Tock, Tick Tock. Happy, happy customers who made their way across. Of course, 60 Minutes highlighted a bunch of people who didn't make it across as they froze. That's one thing that doesn't happen when you cross in Mexico. Up in Canada during the winter time, it's a little cold, so you're wandering out. You're wandering around out in the woods with the cell phone and the, the cartel is watching your location and say, no, no, no, no, no. Take a left there, cross the creek over there. Like they went the wrong direction and then they're found frozen to death.
Joe Getty
Right, right. You know, Tick Tock could work on a new slogan. If you're looking for a Chinese communist finance way to. For your cartel to reach American kids, Tick Tock is the way. Right? Good lord.
Jack Armstrong
Yeah. You know, this is a media thing, but I've 60 minutes deciding to have the first feature story about how, yeah, the Mexican cartels are involved in Canada and the, the numbers have skyrocketed of people and drugs coming across. That's, that's an interesting editorial choice by 60 Minutes.
Joe Getty
I would agree completely. And I don't think it's too inside baseball. I think everybody's kind of aware. Not kind of. Everybody's aware these days that there is wild and shameless bias in the media and folks are choosing which media they are going to continue to consume. 60 minutes. Clearly, to me, I was so disgusted with them, having watched them for years and years. I like long form journalism. I mean, I can certainly identify bias when I see it, but often it's good and it's interesting and it's revealing and it's a great excuse to dig further into a story anyway. But I was so disgusted and pissed off with their utter, just shameless bias at 60 minutes. I said, you know what? I'm done with you. Goodbye. And I'm sure my sentiment was echoed by many, many millions of Americans. And I'll bet 60 Minutes got wind of it. You think I'm not going to write them an email? I don't care that much.
Jack Armstrong
You think?
Joe Getty
I bet they got a hell of a lot of blowback.
Jack Armstrong
You think they felt like they went too far?
Joe Getty
It's a hell of a coincidence.
Jack Armstrong
It is.
Joe Getty
All of a sudden they have a persuasively in the facts. Not in the bias, but in the facts. Maga friendly story, Very mega friendly story.
Jack Armstrong
Especially, especially the timing.
Joe Getty
Right. Leading the show. Come on. I don't, I seriously don't think that's a coincidence.
Jack Armstrong
Yeah. And I wasn't it last week that they had the ridiculous. Here's all the downtrodden government workers that Doge has ruined their lives.
Amica Insurance Advertiser
Right?
Joe Getty
Yeah, it was a handful of weeks in a row. I don't have a great memory for the stories that annoyed them.
Jack Armstrong
But Holman, on presenting the entire, you know, trying to get illegals out of here is a one sided story.
Joe Getty
Was that the, was it the same story that you just referred to or was it a couple of weeks ago that they did the public employee unions.
Jack Armstrong
Right.
Joe Getty
One of the greatest forces for good in America stories. I was like, are you kidding me? I couldn't grab my remote control fast enough.
Jack Armstrong
But so they have this, we'll play some clips of it. But it's, it's a cartel member. And for whatever reason, like if, if this was a story, the other direction, people like me saying, saying, I don't know if I believe this 60 minutes, I think you're going out of your way. But they had a cartel member that for whatever reason decided to talk to 60 Minutes and they have him, you know, in a, in a mask and blacked out. You can't really see him. And they adjust his voice, do one of those things talking about, oh yeah, we bring people across the Canadian border all the time. I mean, it'd be very easy to claim that they made that up.
Joe Getty
Oh, Cesar, I really admire Senor Scott Kelly Pelly with the how you Repeat every question. Very, very good. Very compelling. That's why I'm on today. Thank you for having me.
Jack Armstrong
But anyway, he's talking about how you.
Joe Getty
Really like Scott Pelly. Yes, as I said, I really like Scott Pelly.
Jack Armstrong
Why did you say it again?
Joe Getty
I mean, I stated it really clearly the first time. Why? Why? You ask again? Why do I ask again?
Jack Armstrong
But 60 Minutes actually asked, the guy said, so how much fentanyl do you bring across? And he said, he said how many kilos, whatever. In the 60 Minutes reporter said, Wow. I mean, it was, it was like it was designed to. We're not always biased toward the left.
Joe Getty
I mean, I don't know if that was a coincidence. Cannot be.
Jack Armstrong
Yeah. Anyway, we'll play some clips about that. And yes, stuff is coming across the Canadian border. I don't know if it's enough to call it a fentanyl emergency like the Trump administration is to justify the tariffs. The prime minister of Canada came out over the weekend and said this is the biggest challenge we've ever had or something like that, this whole tariff situation with the United States. So they're taking it seriously.
Joe Getty
Announcement on narrowing the tariffs recently. We'll talk about that. Plus one thing I'm super hot Trot forward is going to be a major feature at during the show today. What have identified, what have I identified many times as the, and this is a disgusting metaphor, but the, the absolute epicenter of the infection in the American body politic. You the woke infection where the bacteria is just teeming and breeding and just it's going to be impossible to the universities. Now there is major news on the cleaning out of the woke mind virus infection in America's universities. We'll get to that later.
Jack Armstrong
We got to start the show officially. I don't want to forget that. I'm Jack Armstrong. He's Joe Getty on this. It is Monday, March 24, the year 2025. We are Armstrong and Getty and we approve of this program.
Joe Getty
All right. Well, it's spring, as we were saying, and I'm wearing really tight white tennis shorts. So let's leap carefully into action now according to FCC rules and regulations at.
Jack Armstrong
Mark the president of the United States.
Joe Getty
Donald Trump in attendance tonight at the Wells Fargo Center.
Jack Armstrong
W. Where was that? This is a wrestling championships in Charlotte. Is that where it was?
Joe Getty
Something like that, yeah.
Jack Armstrong
Regardless, that is quite the thunderous USA for Trump walking into a building.
Joe Getty
Keeping in mind as we continue to kick the media because it's so much fun, there are, I would, I would say the vast majority of folks in the eastern elite media do not know a single Trump voter.
Jack Armstrong
Oh, no, no.
Joe Getty
They might not even know anybody who knows a single Trump vote other than like a cousin. Listen to that stadium full of people. Wow.
Jack Armstrong
And I've got some Mark Halperin's got a roundup of poll numbers that are favorable right now for the Trump administration that are quite shocking. If you take in the world through the mainstream media, you would never believe that these, that this is where America is on this stuff. So I have to get to that. We got Katie's headlines on the way. Hope you can stay here. Text line 415295 KFTC Armstrong and Getty.

Joe Getty
It, yeah, it's a shame. Hey, so what's a guy to do? A lot of good stuff to get to today. Much to squeeze in. So let's get going. It's time to check the lead story with Katie Green. Katie, who is reporting what that is our question to you.
Katie Green
Well, thank you, guys. Starting with abc US Russia talks to resume in Saudi Arabia as Zelinsky calls for pressure on Putin.
Jack Armstrong
Okay, so it's pretty a booster ish of the Trump White House. The first segment. So to be like 60 minutes and try to balance things out. I was horrified at whatever Trump's representative was saying on one of the talk shows yesterday on the Fox Sunday show.
Joe Getty
Just old man Witkoff. Yeah.
Jack Armstrong
Oh, my God.
Joe Getty
Yeah. I'm willing to wait and see whether this is all, hey, we're, we're going soft on Putin, trying to get him to the table, trying to get a broader agreement, blah, blah, blah. But the repetition of Putin's talking points by the Trump administration is making me sick. Or hope they're going somewhere smart.
Jack Armstrong
Shannon Breema, Fox laying out, you know, all the horrible things Putin has done and Trump's guy saying, look, in my whole life, one thing I've learned, there's two sides to every story. Oh, give me a freaking break.
Katie Green
From cnn. Israel strikes Hezbollah in response to rocket fire and most significant flare up of tensions since ceasefire to go backwards.
Jack Armstrong
Just a second. For those of you who don't think we should be in Ukraine, fine. You might be right. That's a perfectly legitimate argument. But you can't Include Putin's not a bad guy. Say Putin is an evil guy. He's an awful guy. He shouldn't have done this. But it's not in our interest to help Ukraine. That's a perfectly fine argument. But if you're going to start with, you know, there's two sides to every story, I don't think Putin's that bad a guy. Then you're a liar.
Katie Green
From the New York Times. Venezuelan immigrants will ask judge to maintain their protections in the United States.
Joe Getty
This is that special visa program taking in zillions of immigrants from Haiti and Venezuela because the American people as a whole have been saying for ages, we don't have enough Haitians and Venezuelans running around. Ugh.
Katie Green
From Breitbart, Usha Vance to visit Greenland as Trump talks of acquiring island.
Jack Armstrong
So, yeah, JD Vets his wife's going to Greenland.
Joe Getty
I'm gonna get into this controversy, Jack. The Greenlanders, Greenlandians are, are fired up and angry. They see this as an aggressive visit. Stay tuned for Live Team.
Jack Armstrong
Well, which, which side of this is Joe Getty on? I can't wait to see.
Joe Getty
It will shock you.
Katie Green
From MSNBC. There's a lot of energy on the ground. AOC and Sanders rally draws over 30,000.
Jack Armstrong
The oligarch tour. The no Oligarchs tour featuring Metallica and Coldplay. The no Oligarchs pairing tour. This is such good news. If you're a Republican, have all the energy be in Bernie Sanders and aoc. Good luck with that. Nationally, Bernard Sanders.
Joe Getty
It's funny, it's more a diagnosis than a, you know, a news story. All of the energy in your party is on the young socialist end. Fine and good. Mainstream America is looking at that, saying.
Jack Armstrong
Yeah, no, I'm hoping the party is misled. Bernie had the biggest crowd he's ever had, which is saying something. And if I hope the party thinks, oh, well, that's, that's our base.
Joe Getty
Good.
Jack Armstrong
Yes, yes, pursue those. That tiny slice of America.
Katie Green
From the Washington Post, Columbia University on track to regain funding after policy changes.
Joe Getty

President Trump calls for the impeachment of Judge Boasberg, claiming he's biased. The administration will be in court to try and throw him off the case. As Republicans line up behind Trump, Democrats attempt to fight back. Leading the charge, 83 year old Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. The pair drawing tens of thousands at rallies in Arizona and Colorado.
Jack Armstrong
Was that related the Bernie rally to the immigration thing?
Joe Getty
I'm trying to remember. If I didn't track with a clip, we just doubted some nonsense about how it's unfair and racist or something.
Jack Armstrong
I didn't hear, I didn't hear them say anything about that issue. So I don't know why those two things were put together. Anyway, the if you watch any of the Sunday shows yesterday, and God help you if you did, don't, geez, good.
Joe Getty
Lord, assess your life's priorities right.
Jack Armstrong
You know how many days you get on planet Earth before you're dead and you're going to spend any of them watching Meet the Press or Face the Nation. Anywho, those shows were dominated by the whole flying Venezuelans after a court rules. Is it a constitutional crisis? That was the number one story by, you know, that kind of media. So I don't, I don't know how big a deal that actually is, but that's what dominated those shows.
Joe Getty
I honestly can't even imagine that. There's a great deal of outrage among Americans.
Jack Armstrong
Well, we can get to the polling a little later on that America's pretty happy with as a whole, with the way the Trump administration's handling illegal immigration.
Joe Getty
Well, you can get to it now if you like. It's fine with me. But here's the Response in clip 51.
Colgate Palmolive Advertiser
This is Fox and Fiends the Trump administration is defiant. They say they have the authority to deport migrants whom they say are national security threats. They are expected to double down on that argument today. This comes as the administration's standoff with federal Judge James Boasberg escalates. Boasberg calls the president's expanded use of the Alien Enemies act problematic. And he's also promising to find out whether the administration flouted his order to turn deportation patient flights to El Salvador back around.
Jack Armstrong
Well, I can tell you how every conversation went on the talk shows yesterday since, thank God you didn't watch them. It was a whole bunch of speculation about a con using the term constitutional crisis, which it would be if a president ignores the court, a federal court, that's a constitutional crisis, because what's the next step there? You know, how do you start dealing? We haven't really had that situation and there's not really a mechanism, an easy mechanism for fixing it. But they would do the long story with all the hypotheticals and what this would mean in the history of blah, blah, blah. And at the end, they'd say it's worth noting that both President Trump and Mr. Holman have said they would not defy a court order. In other news. Oh, okay. Well, they just said they're not going to do that. They wouldn't do that. Okay.
Joe Getty
A lot like the Democratic Party, which is holding those exciting rallies with AOC and Bernie, the Democratic media is desperate for clicks now. And so they're trying to higher up the, the resistance because that was so much fun back in 20, sorry, 2017.
Jack Armstrong
Do you think they set the planes after the court ruled?
Joe Getty
No, no, I was about to get into that. Not, not to pick it apart, but just hit the parts that I think people really need to know to understand what's going on. And as long as we're here, let's go ahead and do that. And then some more from tough talking Tom Holman in just a moment or two. But so, so the judge ordered the administration to suspend the deportation of the alleged gang members and recall any flights that had already departed. And the story is a little hard to follow, but the administration said it didn't recall the flights because the judge did not include that demand in his written order. He said something about it in court, but then the written order came out and didn't say that. The government also contends that the flights were already in international airspace by the time the order was issued. And the timing matters for the following reason. It means the judge's command not to remove Aliens from the US Came too late. You can't remove them if they're already gone. On Thursday, the judge, Boasberg, who played a pretty big role in the FISA court. What was the name? Paige, The Trump aide. The whole Russiagate thing. He was part of reapproving the FISA authority, blah, blah, blah. Very sympathetic to the FBI anyway. But Boasberg conceded the point in, in reality, because he ordered the government to explain its failure to return class members removed from the United States. So. But his order hadn't said anything about returning them. It just said, you can't remove anymore. So that's, you know, that we're going to let the lawyers argue about that forever. But here's the important part. The administration was resting on its reading of the Alien Enemies act, the famous 1798 law that you're seeing. A lot of folks in the lefty media say he's relying on a law from 1798. Come on. And that's unconstitutional. Wait a second. You're relying on the Constitution from 1789? Yeah. So if stuff from the 18th century is no good, then what are you talking about, you phonies? Anyway, but here's how the law reads, because there are a lot of folks who are, who are saying, you know, we're not at war. That's about when we're at war. And they're not entirely right. You know, I'll tell you this. I'll put the disclaimer first. I am really uncomfortable with anything that jumps past due process.
Jack Armstrong
Sure.
Joe Getty
Even when it comes to Venezuelan immigrants who may or may not be gang members. If the government can do things and you, and, and someday it will be, you don't get your day in court because they can just do stuff without proving their case. We don't want that. Because someday, you know, Malia Obama is going to be president and AOC's daughter is going to be the vice president, and they'll have all sorts of crazy stuff they want to do, but thank God for, you know, due process. Anyway, having said that, here's the way the law actually reads.
Jack Armstrong
Yes, you throw out fanciful names. This is a real tangent. Don't you think Oprah Winfrey would win in a landslide if she just announced, like, in a couple years as a Democrat, probably.
Joe Getty
No, No, I don't think so. I, I'm not saying there's no way. I, I just don't think so. No, I think a smart, effective, like Ron DeSantis or JD Vance campaign could, could expose her for what she is. God, I think she would do well.
Jack Armstrong
But I think you'd have 20 million people who've never voted in their lives show up for one thing, voting for her.
Joe Getty
If Tom Hanks was her vp, that would be formidable. Just saying. Anyway, are we done here? Yes. So here's the actual reading of the law, the Alien Enemies act, which is hard to say. The law reads, quote, whether there is a declared war between the United States and any foreign nation or government. You see, Margaret Brennan says, if there is a declared war. Oh, you. Which, anyway, but let me read on.
Jack Armstrong
Oh, my God.
Joe Getty
Whenever there's a declared war between the United States in any foreign nation or government or any invasion or predatory incursion is perpetrated, attempted or threatened against the territory of the United States by any foreign nation or government, all citizens, natives, denizens, or subjects of the hostile nation or government who shall be within the United States and not actually naturalized shall be liable to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as alien enemies. There is no declared war, even an undeclared one. But the law says that an invasion or predatory incursion is sufficient. And that is just vague enough to make me think, eh, this is an incursion. Certainly the Venezuelan government knows who, who's getting out, who these people are. They're communists, they're an adversary. A lot of these people are allegedly gang members. And, you know, I think there ought to be some standard of proof, honestly. But, but, yeah. So I don't think anybody who claims that it is, on its face, undoable. What they're doing is just wrong. Now, the particulars are worthy of the courts taking a look at and not just one district court judge who's some sort of lefty wackadoodle. That's why we have the appeals process. But, yeah, this is a wobbler. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Jack Armstrong
Well, on just the politics of it, it only the politics of it, I think a majority of Americans are thinking, good, kick out Venezuelan gang members and anybody who shouldn't be here, who isn't legally entitled to be here. So that's something where the politics of.
Joe Getty
It is, sure, sure, some quibblers, and this is a legitimate quibbler, saying, look, these people don't have criminal records. How do you know they're gang members? Tom Holman answers that in clip number 54.
H
Michael, most terrorists we arrest that are identified by the US government are later identified through a Title 3 investigation or through an undercover operation. They're not in any terror screening basket, screening Database. We know that many gang members don't have a criminal history issue. We have a count on social media. We have a count of surveillance techniques. We had to count on sworn statements from other gang members. We had to count on, you know, Wiretaps and Title 3. Everything involved with the criminal investigations come into play.
Joe Getty
And there's absolutely Nothing in the 1798 act, the alien Enemies act, that says you have to prove it or the alien incursion, the hostile incursion, has to have a criminal record or anything like that. It's vague enough. One more thought, just because I found this very interesting. Then we'll take a break. Clip 55, please. Michael Holman again.
H
You got 2.2 million gotaways under Joe Biden. 2.2 million people paid more to get away. They could have paid less money, just get to the border, turn themselves over, patrol agent, get released within 24 hours, get a free airline ticket to the city of their choice, get a free hotel room, get three meals a day, get free medical care, and get work authorization in 90 days. So why did more than 2 million people pay more to get away? They don't want to be vetted. They want to be fingerprinted.
Joe Getty
Talking about paying more to the cartels to sneak them into the country. That is a really intriguing question.
Jack Armstrong
Well, let me just read you a little bit of this poll stuff. We'll hit later. This is from Bill McInturve. He's the pollster for NBC Wall Street Journal. He's a Republican pollster, but he's the guy they use over there at NBC. He wrote just overall, we are continuing to see once in a generation type of findings in the less than 20 slides we'll have here. And then he goes through his slides. We'll cover the following major storylines. And I'll just. The first one, he said, you don't see this every day. The surge in right direction. This is the first time right direction is over 40%. You know, it's just a classic question of are we on going a right direction or wrong direction as a country? The right direction is over 40% for the first time in 147 months.
Joe Getty
Wow.
Jack Armstrong
And a historic drop in the ratings of the Democratic Party. So right direction is the highest it's been in a very long time, and the Democratic Party at the lowest. I mean, like he said, this is. These are historic numbers.
Joe Getty
Wow. Anything else is quibbling. Honestly, that's huge.
Jack Armstrong
Yeah, it is. So we'll have more on that later. We've got a mailbag on the way there's a lot to talk about today. Hope you can stick around.

Jack Armstrong
I can't. I. I can't even bring myself hardly to talk about this, but Elon called Social Security a Ponzi scheme. Democrats have jumped all over that, and that Is like really whipping people up in theory. Oh, my God. They're going to take away my Social Security. I just. We can't function as a society if we're going to be this stupid. We just can't. We just gotta pack. I just gotta give up. That's it. I just got to realize, nah, you know, I'm probably gonna live 20, what, 25 more years? You know, the country might hang around that long. Good luck to my kids. I might just have to give up.
Joe Getty
Wow. Well, okay. All right. Or just like cynical political pros have done, you accept the stupidity of it and work within those boundaries. That's a little disappointing though, if you grew up thinking, you know, it's all about ideas and policy and that sort of thing. No, it's about frightening people over fantasies that somebody's going to eliminate Social Security or ignoring reality. Well, right. Yeah, yeah. Other side of the same evil coin. Here's your freedom loving quote of the day. I love this one sent along by me. Guys, here's a quote I came across while reading book that struck me as incredibly true, yet something we like to ignore. How is it that elites in education, especially in Ivy League universities, are so accommodating of leftist and Islamic dogma and calls for violence? And it's a quote from a fellow by the name of Alexander Kraw, and it's a description of an obscure happening. Well, it was important at the day in the Roman Republic where a leading light was seduced into serving an evil, you know, evildoer. Here's the quote. Intellectuals are not immune to corruption and intimidation. On the contrary, they can be too soft and are often flattered by the opportunity to cooperate with the representatives of brute force, even if they silently despise their raw and untutored minds. You know, that reminds me of what Thomas Sowell said about there are some ideas so stupid only an intellectual could have them. The problem with intellectuals, and we're going to be talking about the universities I think next hour, is that there's so much pretension in academia. If you flatter their pretensions, you can get them to think about anything, especially like the. On the raw minds of, you know, undergrads and grad students who are so easily indoctrinated. You try to talk a steel worker, a welder, you know, into some really wackadoodle out there intellectual concept for how society ought to be run. They would say, what's the matter with you? You tried to do the same thing to a PhD. Good chance you get them mailbag Drop us a Note. Mailbag@armstrongandgetty.com is the email address. Al from the Treasure Valley in Idaho says some very nice things about the show. Been listening for a very long time and it says this show. I wish one of the local radio stations in Boise would pick your show up.
Colgate Palmolive Advertiser
Up.
Joe Getty
Yeah, we do too. It's inexcusable. We're not on in Boise. I even know how to pronounce it. There's no Z in Boise. See. Anyway, thanks for the note, sir.
Jack Armstrong
Joe showed up to Boise one time, announced it on the air even though we are not on in Boise. And you packed a bar.
Joe Getty
Well, kinda, yeah.
Jack Armstrong
I mean, that's amazing. Yeah, we should be on the air there.
Joe Getty
It's great fun. Shout out to everybody in Eagle and Boise and then every everywhere around. Love it. Love that part of the country. Jay. Beautiful San Jose, California said, guys, I read an article about nurses protesting the advent of AI to give advice and diagnosis and administrative work in the medical field. You got your longshoremen resisting technology. Updates is the next big social issue. Workers v. AI. Bill Gates recently said he thought a major debate about in the next five to 10 years will be whether or not people need to work 40 hours a week at all because AI will do so many jobs faster and better than humans can.
Jack Armstrong
I would love to get into that. Maybe we bring that back up again later. Hmm.
Joe Getty
That's gonna be probably an enormous change in society. Let's see. I want to get to this from John who says I'm ready for World War three. Maybe next hour. I like this, Jashan. Last week you guys brought up the idea that since COVID people are more rude. This is 100% true. This has been a huge issue in healthcare. It's the main reason people never come back to their jobs after COVID Patients have become unbelievably rude and bitchy about everything. It's made so many in healthcare just stop giving a crap about patient care. It's not good. Now on the different topic. On the topic of kids can't read. Very good. I think that's ironic. I just listened to a podcast about this. It's a few years old, but it explains how schools stopped teaching phonics and started using some weird method of teaching kids how to read. Surprising.
Jack Armstrong
My kids were in school for this. Sight words. It's dumb, but it was all the rage.
Joe Getty
Yeah G. Sean, you've been listening long enough. You should. I've been ranting about this forever. Speaking of, you know, the freedom loving quote and intellectuals and PhDs and what we were talking about. You can't justify your lofty salary as a superintendent or a principal or a consultant in education unless you bring change and innovation. Otherwise, you're just doing what has always worked and what always will work. And we probably don't need a PhD for that, do we? And so you in that position insist on oh no, no. Phonics is old and stupid and ineffective. Here is a new thing sight words. And we don't teach the kids how to actually sound out words or anything like that anymore. Look how new and innovative I am. And because education is so full of trends and fads, it's like how 18 year old girls dress, they went for it and thr away what worked beautifully. Back to phonics, folks everywhere. If you missed a segment at the.

Armstrong & Getty On Demand: "This Neighborhood Is Shootier Than We Thought"
Released on March 24, 2025 by iHeartPodcasts
In the episode titled "This Neighborhood Is Shootier Than We Thought," hosts Jack Armstrong and Joe Getty delve into pressing national issues, focusing primarily on immigration, media bias, political dynamics, and societal changes influenced by technology and education. The discussion is rich with insights, critical analysis, and a touch of humor, making complex topics accessible to a broad audience.
Discussion Highlights:
Armstrong and Getty critique a recent episode of "60 Minutes" that highlighted the surge of illegal immigration and fentanyl trafficking at the Canadian border, orchestrated by the Sinaloa cartel. They express skepticism about the media's portrayal, suggesting it reinforces certain political narratives.
Jack Armstrong [05:34]: "Good on 60 Minutes. I gave up on 60 minutes a week too early. That is remarkable for its obvious reinforcement of various MAGA claims."
Joe Getty [07:08]: "It's like a produced sales piece from the cartel on 'Want to go to America?'"
The hosts argue that while illegal activities are a concern, the media may be overstating the severity compared to more established issues, such as the well-known challenges along the U.S.-Mexico border.
Discussion Highlights:
The hosts express frustration with perceived liberal bias in mainstream media outlets, particularly "60 Minutes," asserting that such biases alienate conservative audiences and undermine journalistic integrity.
Joe Getty [09:44]: "Not only the bias, but in the facts. Maga-friendly story, very MAGA-friendly story."
Jack Armstrong [10:14]: "It's a hell of a coincidence. It is."
They lament the media's focus on narratives they consider partisan, such as negative portrayals of government workers and one-sided immigration stories, which they believe contribute to public distrust.
Discussion Highlights:
Armstrong and Getty analyze the Trump administration's stance on immigration, particularly focusing on the use of the Alien Enemies Act. They discuss recent court rulings that challenge the administration's policies and the political implications of these legal battles.
Joe Getty [31:02]: "Even when it comes to Venezuelan immigrants who may or may not be gang members. If the government can do things and you... you don't get your day in court."
Jack Armstrong [34:04]: "A majority of Americans are thinking, good, kick out Venezuelan gang members and anybody who shouldn't be here, who isn't legally entitled to be here."
They question the administration's reliance on outdated laws and emphasize the need for due process, highlighting concerns about potential abuse of power.
Discussion Highlights:
The conversation delves into the specifics of the Alien Enemies Act, a 1798 law, and its application in modern immigration enforcement. Armstrong and Getty discuss the ambiguities of the law and the recent court rulings that restrict its use.
Joe Getty [32:14]: "Whenever there's a declared war... they can just do stuff without proving their case."
Jack Armstrong [32:42]: "If stuff from the 18th century is no good, then what are you talking about, you phonies?"
They argue that the administration's interpretation of the Act is legally tenuous and politically motivated, raising questions about constitutional boundaries and the rule of law.
Discussion Highlights:
Referencing pollster Bill McInturve, the hosts highlight a significant shift in public opinion, noting an increase in the perception that the country is moving in the "right direction" and a corresponding decline in support for the Democratic Party.
Jack Armstrong [35:17]: "This is the first time right direction is over 40%. You know, it's just a classic question of are we on going a right direction or wrong direction as a country?"
Joe Getty [36:36]: "Anything else is quibbling. Honestly, that's huge."
These insights underscore a potential realignment in the political landscape, suggesting growing support for conservative policies and leadership.
Discussion Highlights:
The hosts touch upon the impending impact of artificial intelligence on the job market, citing concerns from various sectors about automation and AI replacing human roles.
Armstrong and Getty contemplate the societal shifts that widespread AI adoption may precipitate, including economic challenges and the need for workforce retraining.
Discussion Highlights:
Addressing education, the hosts criticize contemporary teaching methods, specifically the decline of phonics in favor of sight words, arguing that it hampers children's reading abilities.
Jack Armstrong [44:23]: "My kids were in school for this. Sight words. It's dumb, but it was all the rage."
Joe Getty [44:28]: "Speaking of, you know, the freedom loving quote and intellectuals and PhDs and what we were talking about. You can't justify your lofty salary as a superintendent..."
They advocate for a return to proven literacy techniques, emphasizing the long-term benefits of phonics in developing strong reading skills.
Discussion Highlights:
Armstrong and Getty engage with listener feedback, addressing comments and questions that reflect their audience's concerns and perspectives.
The hosts appreciate the support and discuss potential expansion, especially in regions where they currently lack a broadcast presence.
Discussion Highlights:
The hosts lament remarks made by Elon Musk regarding Social Security, which they interpret as undermining public trust in essential social programs.
They express frustration over political rhetoric that they believe erodes confidence in social safety nets, highlighting the broader implications for national stability and individual security.
Discussion Highlights:
Armstrong and Getty wrap up the episode by reiterating the importance of critical thinking and staying informed amidst a rapidly changing political and social landscape. They encourage listeners to engage with the topics discussed and remain vigilant about media consumption and policy developments.
Jack Armstrong [05:34]: "That is remarkable for its obvious reinforcement of various MAGA claims."
Joe Getty [09:44]: "Not only the bias, but in the facts. Maga-friendly story, very Maga-friendly story."
Joe Getty [31:02]: "If the government can do things and you... you don't get your day in court."
Jack Armstrong [34:04]: "A majority of Americans are thinking, good, kick out Venezuelan gang members and anybody who shouldn't be here, who isn't legally entitled to be here."
Joe Getty [36:36]: "Anything else is quibbling. Honestly, that's huge."
Media Skepticism: Armstrong and Getty critically assess mainstream media narratives, particularly regarding immigration and drug trafficking, highlighting perceived biases and questioning the portrayal of issues.
Immigration Policy Debate: The episode underscores the complexities of immigration enforcement, legal interpretations of historical laws, and the political ramifications of current policies.
Public Opinion Shifts: Polling data indicates a favorable shift towards conservative leadership and dissatisfaction with the Democratic Party, suggesting potential changes in future elections.
Technological Impact: The rise of AI poses significant challenges and opportunities for the workforce, necessitating proactive strategies to address job displacement and economic adaptation.
Education Reform: There is a pressing need to revisit and potentially reinstate effective literacy teaching methods, such as phonics, to enhance children's reading capabilities.
Societal Trust Issues: Remarks undermining Social Security and other essential programs contribute to broader societal concerns about economic security and institutional trust.
