Hello and welcome to ASCP Esty Talk. I'm Ella Cressman, licensed esthetician, forever student of the skin and content contributor for Associated Skincare Professionals.
C
I'm Maggie Stasik, licensed esthetician and ASCP's program director.
B
So I have to tell you something. This was really exciting in the Colorado group that I have. Yeah, I post a question every so often and it's today I learn. Okay, supposed to help us all learn different things and so I have a little bit of a shout out and I wanna share something. Elizabeth Tucker in the group, she said she learned a couple things but the second thing that she learned was that most people do not speak in their ideal vocal range and that can cause strain in their voice. So she's learning how to respeak.
C
Interesting.
B
Wow, that's really cool. A comment on that. So here's why it's not like Shameless, which is kind of cool. I said I wonder what my ideal range is. And she said that my voice is meltworthy. Aww, isn't that nice? So that today's shout out is to her for being curious but also for sharing information. So speaking of favorite things, Maggie, this is your brainchild and I absolutely love it. We were talking weeks ago about just different products and such and you had the best idea. You said let's share em, let's try these. Have you tried that? And I thought wow, this is fantastic. So today's episode is one of our favorites, literally where we're sharing the products we've been reaching for, why we love them and how they can elevate treatments.
C
Or at home routines and here's the best part. You'll have a chance to win some of our favorite things. Make sure to follow our social media channels for all the details on how to enter.
B
Great. Awesome. What's our first product?
C
First product is Emergency Raceuticals Salvation Serum. The name says it all. It's an all in one designed to soothe, balance and visibly firm. I absolutely love this serum. What's inside? Some key ingredients. Moss extract. This is basically an urban stress defense ingredient that helps skin adapt to environmental stressors. There is also orchid stem cells. It's like an antioxidant compound to support skin vitality, firmness. It reduces wrinkles. Plus botanicals like rosemary, which is a really potent antioxidant. Rubus, which is rich in polyphenols. Clove, which is great for blemish prone skin. And cardamom, which is an antioxidant. It stimulates circulation and why I love it. I love how it tightens instantly but it really feels hydrating going on. It's like this quench of water on my skin.
B
I was so glad that you brought this product up specifically. The company is really cool. Like the guy who started it, Ian, I got to meet him via phone right before the pandemic and I can tell you that I had the best experience. I was searching for brands, it didn't work out. But then this reminded me about not just their product offerings, but the company. One of the great things about them, they have a lot of amazing formulations, but they also have a commitment to sustainability, which I thought was cool. And I remember getting my package, gosh, it was probably 2018 and it had these milkweed seeds inside of it and it's intended to help save the bees. So you're, you can plant them, you know, wherever you are across the country or wherever it's safe for any environment. And I thought that was really cool. They have a lot of sustainable initiatives, so check them out for more. But this particular serum, thank you by the way, because I use it on my neck. I really like this product. It's amazing. So thank you.
C
Oh, you're welcome. I love it too. So that's our salvation in a bottle, literally. But if you want something that works while you sleep, this next one is for you.
B
I love this product line. Let's talk about it. This is from a line called Hydropeptide which really, I remember them also from back in the day. They have had the line on Peptides forever. They have so many different in their line and especially with Peptides being such a hot Topic at the moment. I really like a lot of products in their line, but particularly the Reactivate PM cream is lovely. It's a nighttime lifting treatment that supports collagen production while you sleep. Really? What's inside is cool. It's something called Nimni technology. So this used to be like Nimni night cream I believe is what they called. But it's named after Dr. Marcel Nimny who specialized in collagen synthesis. Can you imagine that being your job is like, what do you do? I specialize in collagen and how to rebuild it. But it's different. It's this complex little system that stimulates fibroblasts but also provides this amino acid precursor. So it protects against a breakdown. So it's a three part thing here. It stimulates, it stabilizes, it strengthens, it protects. It's basically collagen construction in a jar. So, you know, I love an analogy. It supplies the blueprint for collagen production and the protection your skin needs to rebuild itself. It has time release retinol in three different forms, Vitamin C and biomimetic peptides. Why I love this particularly is because I'm sensitive also. I don't like things too complicated. So. So this is something that you can use every night. You don't have to really titrate up or get used to it. You can jump into it. The texture and the smell like the experience of this product is also another reason I love it. It feels luxurious, but it doesn't feel heavy. And so I get this really nice bounce in my skin without redness. I love it. I love it. Like it feels like you can flick my skin and it just bounces right back.
C
I am with you on this product line on multiple levels. I remember hydropeptide from way back in the day and I think they really have evolved and it is a wonderful brand manufacturer, this cream. Okay, do you remember a couple podcasts ago we were talking about fragrance and makeup and you were saying when you apply a particular fragrance, you feel rich?
B
Yes.
C
When I apply this cream, I feel rich. It feels amazing going on. You said it. It is luxurious. You go to bed at night, the fragrance isn't overpowering. It smells wonderful. It feels wonderful. Your skin just drinks it up and you wake in the morning, you have a really nice bounce to your skin. I will say it. The packaging says, you know, caution around the eyes. It is a peptide and retinol cream. I did not follow those instructions.
B
I. You put it up to the lash line.
C
I did a hundred percent all over the ey and I did not have irritation, I did not have redness or flaking. But when I applied any other cream I felt a burn around the eyes. So it, it was doing something. And if you are sensitive, maybe proceed with caution there.
B
Yeah. In that area.
C
In that area.
B
And maybe use an eye cream.
C
Yeah.
B
Awesome. Well, from beauty sleep to clear skin, this next serum is perfect for balancing and brightening.
C
Yeah, this, this one's awesome. Ella, you introduced me to this. This is save our skin C2s skin balancing serum. It's from Med Spa distributors. So it's our third pick in the roundup here. And it's a multitasking serum that clarifies, brightens and strengthens. So what's inside here is two forms of vitamin C plus salicylic acid. It's a very super simple serum and why we love it. It's perfect for acne prone clients who want anti aging benefits. Where I have been using this serum actually is on my body. So I don't have acne breakouts on the face, but occasionally I get those body breakouts. You know, we just made it through summer. So from sun exposure buildup or tank top friction or you know, just sweating in the summer heat and overnight, this would eradicate that immediately. And I also noticed that my skin just was smoother after one application.
B
This is really great also for hormonal acne, especially later. I hate to use the word menopause acne, but like when that happens because there's so many shifts in perimenopause. One day your skin's dry, the next day you might have a pimple or whatever or even the oily disbursement. So I really love this. I love the experience of it. Like you were saying, it's so lightweight. I have this really tough client who has dry acne that I think is also hormonal acne, which I think is also gluten sensitive acne. All of the things, it comes and goes, it waxes and wanes. She is a tough case, but we've kind of developed systems and then all of a sudden she'll be stressed out and voila, another problem. But I gave her the travel size of this and her skin loved it. It was exactly what her skin needed. So I really like this. And I also have to give a shout out to Med Spa distributors. They are fantastic. They are so helpful if I ever have any questions about anything they have, they're, you know, Johnny on the spot. Really like they should be med spa distributor mentors. Or something like that. They've got a lot of really great offerings, so check them out.
C
Up next, we're looking at a powerhouse, one of the most buzzworthy ingredients in professional skincare today.
B
That's right, that's right. How do you feel about salmon DNA?
C
I feel curious.
B
I did not. When I first heard about this, I was like, no, absolutely not. But I have to tell you, when I found all Beauty Global PDRN serum and I met our. I didn't, haven't met her yet, but I just talked to the owner on the phone, Laura. I was like, okay, I'm very, very interested. So what happened was. Or what we're gonna talk about is this PDRN serum. But experience I had that really changed my mind a lot about it. Pdrn, as we've said, is one of the most talked about ingredients in regenerative aesthetics. It's everywhere. Inside this serum you're going to find a high purity PDRN that has DNA fragments from salmon that really works to drive deep into a cellular level, plus hydration support. So it's nice post treatment. It promotes cellular repair, improves elasticity, restores radiance, and it has this powerful DNA based technology. So all in all, what it's going to do is hydrate smooth fine lines and support post treatment healing. It's really important with any PDRN serum that you're going to seek out, if you will, that you make sure it's quality. I believe in this company, I believe that it's quality and then I've seen the results. I love this for so many reasons. I'll talk about it in just a minute. But one is the way that you can use it. So typically the way we've been using PDRN is injecting it or using it with microneedling. That's really great. But not all estheticians can do this. Here's the way that I used it. Ready? Uh, I used it at Laura's suggestion. I was talking to her again. Smaller company, super accessible, very sweet. She's a nurse, she's an esthetician. Very kind. I said, I have this really tough case. I have this client with rosacea that I was wondering if it might work on, but she can't. You know, I was like, maybe I'll nano it. But she, she wouldn't be a candidate for microneedling. She said, try it with microcurrent. And then ding, ding, ding. I had just bought the zimits elastistrom microcurrent gloves and I tried it with this. Maggie. Oh my Gosh. The results were instant and ongoing. It was like, seriously unbelievable. So let's finish this out quickly with the Zemitz Elastistrom microcurrent gloves. Um, I didn't, I don't know, I was just perusing their site and it was accessible. I have microcurrent devices. I was like, oh, I want to try this. These gloves have been toted as fitness for the face, or the technology has been toted for that. But the gloves in particular are woven with a silver thread that creates smooth conductivity and then they deliver this gentle, low level electrical impulse that is supposed to mimic the body's natural bioelectricity. They're gloves and they have this attachment together that they conduct through each other. There's nine levels. I have not gone past two. One is sufficient, but they work to. As you're massaging the skin, it re educates muscles, it boosts ATP, enhances circulation, it supports lymphatic drainage. So I used these, I had them and I used them with the PDRN on this client and wow, it really helped infuse it in there. So super nice. After that, I went on a microcurrent rampage. Everybody was getting this treatment like, you wanna upgrade today? You wanna upgrade? Cause I was trying it in all different scenarios a lot with the pdrn, but also in different ways. And my clients are loving it. They're relaxed, they look so good afterwards. Their skin looks lifted, it looks glowing. And it's nice because it really got through the summer with no downtime. It was like facial yoga with superpowers. And the clients walked away, all of them, feeling like they had like a mini vacation for their skin. Loved it. Increased rebookings. Awesome.
C
What's amazing about these Zemitz gloves is that one, it's very affordable, entry point. And two, compared to other microcurrent devices, this is a glove. It's very easy to slip on, provide the treatment either as a service, on its own or as an upgrade. And there's no bulky device. You don't have all these cords everywhere, you don't have these two handpieces. It's literally your hands doing the work and infusing the serums.
B
And you can. There's a training video. But also my rep for Zimmer is Ashley and she's incredibly helpful too. So putting these together with the All Beauty Global PDR and serum. Love that technology. Check out that brand and then pairing it with Zim and talk to Laura about how to use it with microcurrent, you're not going to be sorry. So there you have it. There are our favorite things right now. Five powerhouse products that deliver results backed by great ingredient science or technology. Whether you're looking for multitasking serums, nighttime collagen support, balancing solutions or regenerative repair with technology, these are all worth checking out.
