All right, West. West Prop here from Hood Politics with Prop Podcast. You know, I get down. You come from the urban areas. You understand politics more than you giving credit for. Between Jerry out here mandering all over the place, Hop out boys, snatching up family members, and two wars that was supposed to be done in 24 hours. Not to mention Epstein. We had to reach out to the homie Jamel Hill. Cause she gonna keep it a century in America.
Joe
What sells in politics are narratives and storylines.
West Prop
It's like we treat politics like we treat sports, which is part of the reason why we're in the situation we're in right now. Listen to the Hood Politics with Prop podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.

Drew Phillips
And we are here with Kelsey Anderson. Kelsey, welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour.
Kelsey Anderson
Thanks. I'm happy to be here.
Serena
You know what's crazy is this is, I think, the first time we've ever had you on solo.
Drew Phillips
Yeah, it is.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah, I know. It's crazy.
Serena
Well, we're happy to have you. Thanks for coming on.
Drew Phillips
Kind of bullshit, Kelsey. I mean, you weren't really doing any interviews during your season, and then now.
Serena
We can't get you on.
Kelsey Anderson
I know, right?
Serena
We missed our chance. Well, let's get into it. How are you doing? What's new? Where are you recording from today?
Kelsey Anderson
I'm in la in our house. This is our new place. It's coming. It's just, you know, taking a minute because we moved in right around Black Friday, and so everything was just kind of delayed with coming in. But we're happy to be here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But we're happy to be here. It's awesome.
Drew Phillips
So if Joey. If Joey didn't get Dancing with the Stars, would you guys be in New York right now, you think?
Kelsey Anderson
I'm not sure where we'd be. I think that doing Dance with the Stars and coming here, we kind of fell in love with LA and the weather especially. There's a lot of opportunity here. So we ended up just kind of deciding, I think that this is the best of both worlds for both of us. You know, it's got the beach, it's got the good weather, but it's also a little bit of a hustle and bustle city. So, yeah, we're excited to be here. And I don't know if we would have necessarily ended up in New York, but there was a lot of options out there. I was kind of focused on New York, but I fell in love with la, so. Yeah.
Drew Phillips
Who do you guys hang out with the most out there?
Kelsey Anderson
Tanner. Tanner and.
Drew Phillips
Sounds about right.
Serena
He's your third wheel.
West Prop
I follow.
Drew Phillips
I mean, I can't get into my Instagram. I've been locked out for, like, six days at this point.
Serena
I don't dark over here.
Drew Phillips
I don't know what's going on, but I follow. I follow Tanner on Instagram. And when Joey was on Dancing with the Stars, I would have thought he was dating Joey.
Kelsey Anderson
No, honestly, we were joking that we were. Yeah.
Serena
Yeah, I love it. It's so funny. How are you liking la, though, overall? You're, like, settling in. How's the place? How's the decorating going?
Kelsey Anderson
Decorating is going great. Joey lets me take most control, but we also have pretty taste and style. Like, I'll usually, like, pick something and I'm like, what do you think of this? And then he's like, I love it. I'm like, perfect. So.
Serena
Oh, yeah, I saw you posted. You're looking for, like, abstract art.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah, I'm looking for abstract art. I've gotten a couple people sending me, like, little, like, different artists that I really like, so I've got to look through them. I'm just. I'm looking for, like, a really big piece, and a lot of pieces that I've been finding are more, like, about this big. But I just want.
Serena
You should almost look for, like, a poster that you can frame. I feel like.
Kelsey Anderson
Right. I also see where you can, like, buy canvas, like, you can buy a piece of art that's just, like, on canvas, and then you kind of like, I don't know, build it yourself. You know what I mean? Like, where you, like, staple it into the. The wood. I don't know. We'll figure it out.
Serena
Oh, like, you buy the flat canvas and then you, like, shape it to the frame.
Kelsey Anderson
Yes.
Serena
Yeah, that sounds intense. I don't have that capability. I'm not a DIY girl.
Drew Phillips
What would you consider your. Your style? Like your. Your home, your interior design?
Kelsey Anderson
I don't know. I, like. I would say, I don't know, like, the, you know, specific names for them. You know, there's like, so many different names for different styles, but no.
Serena
Yeah.
Kelsey Anderson
I would say that the vibe is cozy and a little funky. Okay. Yeah.
Serena
Okay. So Dancing with the Stars is done. We've moved to la. Are we wedding planning yet?
Kelsey Anderson
We are about to. We haven't started yet because we are trying to figure out location, but once we have a location kind of, you know, narrowed down, then we're going to start wedding planning. Our idea was that we didn't want to, you know, stress, and life has been really busy right now, and so we don't want to put, like, a huge. Another thing on our plate super fast. You know, like, we got engaged in two months, so we're taking this seriously and we're just enjoying life right now, and we're going to start planning this year, which we're excited for.
Serena
That is really exciting. I feel like, at least for us, where we were gonna get married was probably the hardest decision.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
Like, it took us, like, two months to decide.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
And that was, like, two months of actively trying to, like, research and make a decision.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Drew Phillips
Yeah. But we ran, but we. We chose it pretty quickly.
Serena
Yeah. Yeah. We did go to, like, one place, and we're, like, one place.
Drew Phillips
We're like, all right, let's just get married.
Kelsey Anderson
I feel like that's what's gonna happen with us.
Serena
Pre. Pre. Discussion.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
Once. And then we had. We're like. We're pretty sure this is going to be our choice, which was Charleston, where we end up getting married. And we did not want to, like, fly around.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
Like, we were like, if we go there and we like it, like, done right, like, we're sold. Like, I don't need to see.
Kelsey Anderson
So funny. Because one of our, like, areas that we're thinking about is the Carolinas.
Serena
Okay. We loved Charleston.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
We did Charleston as a wedding destination mainly. Well, for a lot of reasons, but, like, the Downtown core is just so great because, like, it's small, but there's lots to do. So, like, we were always running into people. It felt like a.
Drew Phillips
All the hotels are right next to each other. It's basically one block.
Kelsey Anderson
Oh, that's nice.
Drew Phillips
Without. When all your friends and family come in, everyone's just, like, hanging out. And it's. It has, like a very. It's like a. It's like a great, like, casual bar vibe, but also, like, nice. It was. It was pretty perfect. I love. I highly recommend.
Kelsey Anderson
Well, we thought it was a good middle part between both of us. Like, I'm in. My family's in Louisiana, his in Philly. And so that's like a good little segue, you know, between the two states. And then we also were kind of thinking maybe Italy, you know, like a destination wedding. But then we were like, we don't want it to make it too hard for everyone, you know, going there.
Drew Phillips
Also, you could go to Italy. You could do Italy in your.
Kelsey Anderson
Honey, that's what we're thinking about too. So, like, yes, Southern Italy.
Serena
So, yeah, that's literally what we did.
Kelsey Anderson
We're going to copy you guys.
Serena
Yes. Do it.
Kelsey Anderson
Do it.
Serena
I'd be honored.
Drew Phillips
I. I highly recommend it. Italy. I mean, I love Italy. I. I wish I could. I would move there.
Kelsey Anderson
Right?
Drew Phillips
There's, like, homes in Tuscany that you could buy that are, like, beautiful homes for decently priced.
Serena
Yeah, definitely cheaper than New York or la.
Drew Phillips
Yeah. So if you do.
Serena
But we're not moving there. Let's deal with one immigration process at a time.
Drew Phillips

All right West West Prop here from Hood Politics with Prop Podcast. You already know our get down. If you grew up in our urban areas, a comfort of struggle, you understand politics much more than you giving credit for Feds taking over American cities, government hop out boys hopping out the vans snatching up your Theo and them two wars that was supposed to be solved in 24 hours. Serena
I had to call her right then.
Drew Phillips
And I just hit call, said, you know, hey, I'm Jacob Schick. I'm the CEO of One Tribe foundation. And I just wanted to call and let her know there's a lot of people battling some of the very same things you're battling. And there is help out there. The Good Stuff podcast, season two takes a deep look into One Tribe Foundation, a nonprofit fighting suicide in the veteran community. September is National Suicide Prevention Month, so join hosts Jacob and Ashley Schick as they bring you to the front lines of One Tribe's mission.
Joe
I was married to a combat army.
Kelsey Anderson
Veteran, and he actually took his own life to suicide.
Joe
One Tribe saved my life twice.
Drew Phillips
There's a lot of love that flows through this place, and it's sincere now.
Kelsey Anderson
It's a personal mission. Don't have to go to any more funerals.
Drew Phillips
You know, I got blown up on a react mission. I ended up having amputation below the knee of my right leg and a traumatic brain injury because I landed on my head.
Kelsey Anderson
Welcome to season two of the Good Stuff.
Drew Phillips
Listen to the Good Stuff podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. So, Kelsey, we've been following you on Instagram and we saw. Speaking of wedding planning, we did see you do a collab with David's bridal.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
Do you know what David's bridal is like? If you know what part of the collab that was? You don't.
Drew Phillips
Do you bridal dresses.
Kelsey Anderson
Yes.
Serena
Wedding dress.
Drew Phillips
Yeah, I know.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Drew Phillips
And it's in the name.
Serena
I know. I was just waiting for you to be like, wedding planners or like, Bridal makeup.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah. So I. I shot their spring 2025 collection, which was super exciting. I got to try on wedding dresses for the first time. I'd never tried. I tried on my mom's, actually, before that. But this was my first wedding dress that I ever put on, and, you know, as an adult, and it was super fun. There was so many beautiful dresses, and I feel like it kind of gave me an idea of maybe what I'm more so looking for once that step comes for me. But all of the dresses were just super timeless and classy. Was a lot of detail put into them. So, yeah, it was a super, super fun shoot. The whole team was really great. And, yeah, I had a fabulous time.
Serena
So, going in, did you have a style in mind that you thought you would maybe want for when you go pick your wedding dress? And did that change at all?
Kelsey Anderson
I mean, honestly, I've never had maybe a set in stone. Like, this is the exact shape and the exact style that I want. But I definitely thought, you know, I want something that's timeless, and that's pretty simple. But some of the dresses had a little bit more detail than maybe I would have thought that I would have gravitated towards that. I really, really liked, like, a lot of the floral decals I realized that I actually really enjoyed wearing, and I felt very beautiful and feminine and comfortable. And I feel like that is a big thing with, like, your wedding day. You want to be comfortable. Right. And some of them had pockets, even.
Serena
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Really?
Drew Phillips
There's wedding dresses?
Kelsey Anderson
Yes.
Serena
I tried one on with pockets. Yeah.
Drew Phillips
That's interesting.
Serena
Usually it's like the bigger skirts, because.
Drew Phillips
They can like, tie it.
Serena
Yeah, yeah. But if you want to, like, throw your phone or, like, a lipstick or something in there, it's very, very functional.
Drew Phillips
Oh, I would definitely go with the pocket.
Serena
Right?
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah. Like, put your lipstick in there.
Serena
Do you think? I feel like a trend right now, which I actually really regret not hopping on. This is people taking their mother or, like, a. A woman in their life's wedding dress and kind of, like, re upping it.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
To feel, like, a little more, like, modern or, like, them or whatever they want to do and wearing it for part of their wedding. Do you think you'll do anything like that?
Kelsey Anderson
I think maybe so. So my mom actually ended up not wearing the wedding dress that she had. But I think that I. I think that maybe I would take, like, a piece of, you know, some type of clothing of hers that meant a lot to me and somehow incorporate it into, you Know something in our wedding for sure. I definitely want a piece of my mom in. In our wedding. And I think that I'm a very sentimental person. So there's, like, a lot of ideas that I have of, like, incorporating the people that aren't with us presently anymore into our wedding. Like Joey's grandma who passed away. She was very, very special to him. And same with his grandpa. And so I'm trying to think of ways that we can still honor them because they were big people in our lives, you know?
Serena
Oh, that's so nice.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah, I would.
Drew Phillips
I would. I would start writing. I would have a note notebook and start writing some of your ideas. Yeah, because once you start planning, it gets very right, actually.
Serena
Yeah. Not a bad idea. Like a notes up on your phone or something.
Drew Phillips
There was a bunch of things that.
Serena
I wanted, and, well, you're throwing out some crazy stuff. It's not the same.
Drew Phillips
But I loved our wedding. Do you have any, like, major wants or do not want at your wedding?
Kelsey Anderson
Not really. Honestly, I don't really. I feel like I need a wedding planner to help me, like, you know, narrow down all the little details. Because I feel like there's so many details. The only thing that I really. Joey and I both have said is that we want it to just be a big party, like, after we say our vows. Like, we just want to have a big celebration. We want everyone on the dance floor. So we've got to find the perfect band, perfect dj, you know, whatever we choose. But, yeah, I don't think there's anything that I'm like, absolutely not. I'm pretty open. But I don't think I want everything to be super traditional. Like, I want it to kind of just form to how we feel is right for us.
Drew Phillips
Yeah.
Serena
Yeah. And a wedding planner. Like, we. Neither of us are people that had, like, a exact vision of what we wanted for our wedding. We were kind of just like, let's figure this out as we go. And we had a wedding planner. It does help a lot because obviously you're like, I've never planned a wedding before. Like, this is my first time getting married. Like, let me turn to somebody who's done this, like, a million times. A little advice.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah. And none of my siblings have gotten married. Joey's sister has. And so we're definitely gonna, you know, lean on her for a lot of advice and what she liked and what maybe she didn't really like with her wedding. And she knows both of us really well, so I feel like she'll be able to also help us with that. But my sister actually just got engaged this past Christmas, so I'm trying to push her to get married first so I can, you know, you know, scope out what she's doing and what I like of it. But we'll see how that goes.
Drew Phillips
Okay, so moving on from wedding planning, post show, what's been some of your favorite things?
Kelsey Anderson
Some of my favorite things. Post show. I don't know. I feel like we've been able to travel a lot, which has been really nice, but also just making a home together, Joey and I. It's been really fun and really special, and it's cool to see how I was really worried. I've never lived with a significant other before, and so I was a little like, oh, you know, living with the boy. We'll see how this goes.
Drew Phillips
Especially one that you met on tv.
Kelsey Anderson
So you're like. But it has been. I'm really jumping, like, Joey is a joke. Joey is the best roommate. Like, he is such a good roommate. He's very clean. Like, he's very considerate. And, yeah, we just living together has been a breeze, honestly.
Drew Phillips
Who cooks?
Kelsey Anderson
I cook. Joey, actually, the first. I don't know, y' all did probably like the, you know, whenever you were in hiding and everything, Joey tried cooking me a steak. And it is. I always is the most well done steak I've ever had in my life.
Serena
He was like, had he ever cooked a steak before or was he taking care of it?
Kelsey Anderson
He's probably gonna be so adult. But he destroyed. Destroyed that steak. It was so funny. He still wants his redemption soon, so I'll probably let him do that. He is a good sous chef, though. He loves to, like, help me, like, chop up things and stuff. But typically I like to just kind of cook on my own and let him, like, you know, go do something else.
Drew Phillips
Have you ever been to what's a sandwich spot in New Orleans? Turkey and wolf.
Kelsey Anderson
Oh, my gosh. I love turkey and the wolf. Yes. So good.
Drew Phillips
I have his cookbook. I really want to go.
Kelsey Anderson
Mason, right? Mason something is the chef.
Drew Phillips
The chef of turkey. It's in New Orleans.
Serena
Okay.
Kelsey Anderson
He actually has another restaurant now, and it's called. I can't remember it, but I will. I will send it to y'. All. It's really, really good. It's like an 80s martini bar themed restaurant. Nice.
Drew Phillips
Serena's never been to New Orleans.
Kelsey Anderson
You gotta go.
Serena
I know, I do want to go. Was it so cool having the super bowl from there?
Kelsey Anderson
So cool. It was amazing just to see how much of New Orleans culture they put into the super bowl that maybe a lot of people didn't realize. Even it was just so beautiful. Even like the super bowl logo was like a bead design that this apparently like 16 year old queen of this crew in New Orleans made. And so the logo that everyone was seeing was.
Serena
Oh, Kelsey's camera is having a mind of its own right now.
Kelsey Anderson
But anyways, yeah, so it was really cool to see all of the detail of New Orleans that was put into the super bowl that maybe other people didn't realize, but as somebody who lived there, it was really special to see and it was just awesome also to see everyone enjoying the city so much.
Serena
That is so cool. I would never pick up on any of that, but I feel like, like hearing that they take the culture of the city into heart like when they're putting on that event. I love that because I know if it was like in Toronto, which it'll never be, but if it was and they were doing little touches that I was picking up on as someone that's from there, I would be like, this is just, just so fun that you have the ability to like appreciate that on another level.
Kelsey Anderson
And also for you, like as a Canadian, there's a lot of, you know, French influence in your culture and it's the same with Louisiana's in New Orleans. So I feel like maybe you would be able to, you know, pick up on that if you came to the city.
Serena
Maybe, maybe my like 6 years of school will help me out.
Drew Phillips
Okay. If you, if you were in New Orleans for a layover and you have.
Kelsey Anderson
You know, 12 hours.
Drew Phillips
Not. No, no, no, never mind. You have like two hours. You have two hours. You go to one place, where would you suggest could be a restaurant, could be a park.
Kelsey Anderson
So I think City park is so beautiful. They also have. And it's closer to the airport than going all the way into the city. Because the airport in New Orleans is actually in Kenner, which is in Jefferson, Jefferson Parish, which is like probably 30 minutes from downtown. So if you only have two hours, I would maybe suggest going to Lakeview, which is in New Orleans City park, and then you can go to Dumond and like sit and have some beignet in a cafe La and you know, just be able to enjoy the beautiful weather. Hopefully it's not too hot, you know, but the trees there are just so beautiful and they have the, this moss that hangs off the trees and it's, it's very beautiful. A.
Serena
That's so nice. I saw you Were with, like, a bunch of girls from your season recently. I think you were celebrating, like, Rachel's birthday.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
How was that?
Kelsey Anderson
It was so much fun. We had a blast. I wish that we could have all been together longer, but, yeah, it was super fun celebrating Rachel. And we did, like, a little PowerPoint night where we just, like, I saw each other. Yeah, it was super fun, huh?
Serena
Who was there?
Kelsey Anderson
Like, oh, so it was Carissa, Autumn, Daisy, Rachel, Leia, Sydney. Who else? Trying to think I need to go down the list. Lexi. And I think. I think there might have been another girl or two. I can't think of everyone right now.
Drew Phillips
Regardless, that's. That's. That's. That's enough.
Kelsey Anderson
It was. And all of them stayed at Leia's house the first night.
Serena
Oh, my gosh. It's a lot of people.
Kelsey Anderson
I know. I was like, I'm gonna go home.
Serena
Yeah. To my own bed. Don't follow me.
Kelsey Anderson
Four minutes from Leia. So I was like, if anyone wants to come sleep over here. But they already had a whole set up with, like, mattresses and everything. But, yeah, big sleepover.
Drew Phillips
Do you guys. Do you guys think L. A forever or you haven't thought that?
Kelsey Anderson
No, I think that right now we're just L. A for now, and we'll figure out, you know, if this is somewhere that we want to stay, you know, more. But we only have a year lease right now, and we'll see if we want to keep it. I mean, we just got our house together, so it's like, we might end up staying another year or so.
Serena
I feel like one year goes by, so one year goes by fast.
Drew Phillips
I always suggest stay in, like, two.
Serena
Yeah, well, it almost feels like by the time you get settled, you're like, oh, do we have to, like, start looking for a new place now?
Kelsey Anderson
Like, exactly, like, and we started from scratch. Like, I sold all of my furniture, and so did Joey, and so we, like, honestly didn't really have anything coming here. So, like, getting everything together was a lot for the past couple months.
Serena
Oh, yeah. That's intense. That's intense, for sure.
Drew Phillips
Thoughts on grant season.
Kelsey Anderson
Oh, I'm. I'm excited to see the end result, for sure. But, I mean, I think that it's a great season. You know, there's always got to be a little bit of drama. There's always a little bit of, like, are you here for the right reasons? You know, But. But, yeah, it's been great. I've been enjoying following along, for sure.
Drew Phillips
Does it give you anxiety to watch because you were the past season.
Kelsey Anderson
You know, it makes me appreciate coming out the other side and being where we are at now. It is like surreal like watching it back and thinking like, you know, that all of these women's, I don't know, it's just like all of these women experience these things and you know, Grant's with someone now hopefully and I don't know, I remember going through that and watching it back and some parts were harder for me, some parts were easier. But yeah, I'm wishing Grant the best and yeah, we'll see. We'll see what happens.
Serena
He reached out to Joey at all recently or like, did they have a little get to give some advice?
Kelsey Anderson
Chad Joey's definitely like, you know, gave Grant some advice and talked to him and he's, you know, showed his support and told him like if he needs anything, he is there for him. And I've given the same and I know Katie and Zach probably have to a charity in Dalton. So yeah, we're all trying to support each other and I'm sure Jen's also reached out to him.
Drew Phillips
This episode of Bach yout Happy Hour is brought to you by Malibu. When the clock hits 5:01, it's not just the end of your day, it's the beginning of your time. Time to kick back, turn off the work brain and turn up the good vibes. Malibu is here to turn your after hours into island hours where the only thing on your to do list is fun. I personally love hanging out with friends in the backyard, unwinding, telling stories, having some great drinks. It is my favorite. You deserve to unplug, unwind and feel like you're on vacation, even if you're just in your backyard. And a great way to do that is with a delicious Malibu pina colada. Whether it's on the patio with friends at a front porch hang or just catching that sunset with someone special, make the moment matter. Clock off with Malibu because life's too short not to do whatever tastes good. Sip easy. Enjoy Malibu responsibly. Copyright 2025 imported by Perneau Ricard USA.

You're ready. You have Nexsplanon etnogestrel implant, 68mg Radiopeg to prevent pregnancy. Nexplanon is a non daily prescription birth control for women that goes in your arm and may take a few minutes to insert by your doctor. Don't use nexplanon if you're pregnant or may be pregnant, have or had blood clots or certain cancers, have liver disease, liver tumor or unexplained vaginal bleeding. Once the implant is placed, you and your doctor should feel for it. If at any time you can't feel the implant, contact your doctor right away and use a non hormonal birth control method such as condoms. Removal of the implant may be difficult or impossible if it isn't where it should be while in common ectopic pregnancy. Pregnancy that occurs outside the womb can occur, which can cause serious internal bleeding, infertility and even death. You are likely to experience changes to your period. Ovarian cysts may occur and usually disappear. Nexplanon may raise the chance of serious blood clots, which can cause heart attack, stroke or death, especially if you smoke or have other risk factors. Nexplanon doesn't protect against HIV or STDs. With less than one pregnancy per 100 women who use NexsPlanon for one year, NexsPlanon is over 99% effective. No matter the fantasy, talk to your doctor. Call 1-877-467-5266 or visit nexsplanon.com for more information. Ask your doctor about Nexplanon all right.

West West Prop here from Hood Politics with Prop podcast. You already know our get down. If you grew up in our urban areas of comfort, of struggle, you understand politics much more than you giving credit for feds taking over American cities, government hop out boys hopping out the van, snatching up your Theo and them two wars that were supposed to be solved in 24 hours. Jerry just out here mandering all over the place, the turfs and of course the Epstein of it all. Well this week we decided to shoot our shot and boy did we pull up from the logo to see if we could get somebody to come tap in with us. And the one and only Jamil Hill pulled up from the Spolitics podcast to keep it a whole century.

The American public is used to being entertained.

Perfect.

And want to hear people with mental illness psychobabble.
Kelsey Anderson
Yes. Yes.

Drew Phillips
Most everything was burned up pretty good from the fire that not a whole lot was salvageable.
Joe
These are the coldest of cold cases. But everything is about to change. Every case that is a cold case that has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime. A small lab in Texas is cracking the code on DNA using new scientific tools. They're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it.
Drew Phillips
He never thought he was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen, I was just like, ah, gotcha.
Joe
On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors, and you'll meet the team behind the scenes at othram, the Houston lab that takes on the most home hopeless cases to finally solve the unsolvable. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Drew Phillips
For the sake of this conversation, let's assume he's with someone. What advice would you give her?
Kelsey Anderson
Take everything with a grain of salt. Watching it back, you know, remember the moments that y' all had together fully, because, I mean, you know, this experience is a big experience, and a show can all obviously, obviously only show so much because it's all condensed down into one hour show. So I would just say, you know, remember the moments that y' all had. Be open and honest about your feelings. Don't, you know, can them up because then, you know, they. It's just not good. I think that it's best to communicate your feelings with your person. Take it with a grain of salt. I think therapy also really helped Joey and I understand, like, our frustrations and, like, just trying to funnel through such a unfamiliar territory.
Serena
Yeah.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Drew Phillips
What would you say was the most difficult part of the process from beginning filming after the show for you?
Kelsey Anderson
I think that it was just. I mean, you're reliving all of these moments that you already went through and you're seeing other aspects of it that you maybe didn't see before with, like, his relationship with other women. And I think that it was hard for me at the beginning being like.
Serena
Why are you giving the chances?
Kelsey Anderson
Didn't you already know it was me? But. But no, seriously, I think that Joey navigated through it like, the best way he possibly could. So I was always very appreciative of him, like, always thinking about, you know, how his partner would think about his actions throughout it. But I. Honestly, I. I would say that I think that it wasn't as hard for me as I thought it was going to be, if I'm being honest.
Serena
Okay, that's good.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
Do you ever wish, Like, I wish I just didn't watch or like, I wish.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah, no, because, I mean, I think that. Well, honestly. So I watched the full episodes up to a certain part, and then up to a certain part, I would only watch mine. Like, I didn't.
Serena
Like, I'm sure Hometown. Yeah, like that it's easier to, like, filter out.
Kelsey Anderson
Exactly. Then I would, like, put my headphones in and I was just kind of like, scrolling on my phone. But I would only really watch my parts after a certain episode. I think it was like, hometowns or so. Just because I was like, I don't need to. You know, we are at a different spot now. This was months ago, but. But yeah, I think that honestly, even going into the whole process, I thought that I was going to maybe be more jealous or like, you know, I don't know, just my feelings would be more heightened than they were. But honestly, going through the process, I just, like, was very appreciative of the women that were there, of Joey and the time that whenever we had time together, the way he focused on our conversations and made me feel special. But, yeah, it was. It is a crazy process.
Serena
Oh, yeah. Is it ever?
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah. I mean.
Drew Phillips
I mean, it works, though.
Kelsey Anderson
It does. Yeah.
Drew Phillips
Any. Any travel plans coming up? You guys going anywhere? Cool? Anything?
Serena
You were just in Hawaii, right?
Kelsey Anderson
We were just in Hawaii for a second with American for American Idol, which was super cool to be able to watch.
Serena
What?
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah, it was really awesome.
Serena
How did that all play out?
Kelsey Anderson
Well, I guess we will see in April, I think it comes out, but it was really.
Drew Phillips
Well, it's none of your business yet.
Serena
I just didn't realize that they filmed American Idol in Hawaii.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah, I think it's up to a certain point they film them all over the place. And then soon in April, I think they start the live ones.
Serena
Okay, gotcha.
Kelsey Anderson
And those ones are gonna be auditions. This one, I think that. I think after a couple rounds, after auditions, then they start doing live and people start voting.
Serena
Gosh.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
Okay. I haven't watched it in so long. But that's so cool and random.
Kelsey Anderson
I know. But I feel like the season is going to be really good. We got to see a lot of really talented people.
Serena
Who are the judges now? Katy Perry.
Kelsey Anderson
No, Carrie Underwood.
Joe
Oh.
Kelsey Anderson
Oh, yeah. Oh, my God. I know. I thought it was Katy Perry, too, but now they have Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan.
Drew Phillips
We have to ask before. Before you leave, any updates on your father and his relationship?
Kelsey Anderson
Marky Mark. Yes, he is.
Drew Phillips
Mark's been on this podcast multiple times because he's logged on in his car and not had any surface, so he had to, like, redo the.
Kelsey Anderson
He told me all about that. He's like, I feel so bad. Like, I mean, I think he had a doctor's appointment that went over.
Serena
Yes. He was, like, trying to make the podcast after, like, a delayed doctor's appointment, and we were like, look like you are a real one for doing this, but, like, it's okay. Like, let's just delay it a little bit, get home.
Kelsey Anderson
I know.
Serena
I really appreciated his commitment.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah. No, but Mark is in a relationship with. Her name is Barbara, and she is the best. She is super sweet. She has great daughters. We got to spend Christmas with them all together. And, yeah, they are going strong. And he's super happy. And now he's L. A. A lot. Sheila's in la, so I get to see him pretty often now, too.
Serena
That's really nice. How long has it been?
Kelsey Anderson
I don't know when they started. Date? Maybe like, maybe October, November, December. January. What month are we in? Maybe like five months or so.
Serena
Five months?
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
Wow. Wait, she is.
Drew Phillips
I never know what month we're in.
Kelsey Anderson
I know.
Serena
You watch One Tree Hill.
Kelsey Anderson
Yes.
Drew Phillips
One Tree Hill. No.
Serena
Okay. I didn't either, but she plays Deb. Grandma Deb. Nanny.
Kelsey Anderson
Nanny Deb.
Serena
Yeah, Nanny Dev. Okay. Was that crazy for you?
Kelsey Anderson
I never watched the show, so I didn't know, but I'm pretty sure one of my sisters did. But it's funny. A bunch of my friends are big fans of the show, and they were freaking out, and I was like, oh, I feel like I need to go watch it. But they're like, she's a little crazy on the show. But I was like, in real life, she's not crazy. She's great.
Serena
That's all that matters. Did you watch in real life?
Kelsey Anderson
She's not.
Drew Phillips
Did you watch Gossip Girl?
Kelsey Anderson
No, I never watched Gossip Girl.
Serena
What a pivot, Joe.
Drew Phillips
It's a good one.
Serena
We're watching Gossip Girl right now.
Drew Phillips
When you ask me if I watch One Tree Hill, I'm like, gossip Girl is as far as I'm gonna go at this point.
Serena
Yeah, that's fair. We'll warm you up with Gossip Girl. Then we'll work our way to, like, Vampire Diaries or something.
Kelsey Anderson
I've watched little bits of Vampire Diary and also Joey and I are watching Suits right now. We just finished up this past season, so that one's a good one.
Serena
We watched Suits in December. I've watched it before, but I've.
Drew Phillips
I've never seen it. And I binged it.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Drew Phillips
This past winter.
Serena
We never finished it, but it kind of. Kind of lost us.
Drew Phillips
Well, yeah, after, like, season six.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah. I think there's like, nine or so.
Serena
Yeah, I think.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
But they're coming out with a Suits la.
Kelsey Anderson
Yes, the new one.
Serena
Maybe you can make a cameo.
Kelsey Anderson
I know.
Drew Phillips
Yeah.
Serena
Well, we're so happy for your dad. Is it weird seeing him? Like, you guys are, like, you're in a more serious relationship right now than your dad?
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah, kind of.
Serena
Is that a weird dynamic? Is that rude to say?
Kelsey Anderson
No, I don't know if that's rude.
Drew Phillips
To say, but I don't know if that's that uncommon either. I think it's more strange that you both have been on, like, the Bachelor. That's the weird part.
Kelsey Anderson
Yeah.
Serena
No, like, are you, like, dad, like, let me give you dating advice?
Kelsey Anderson
No, I feel like my dad's got it figured out now. I feel like definitely him going on the Golden Bachelorette helped him a lot with, like, I think just kind of pushing himself to put himself out there. And then Deb. I mean, Barb. Not Deb. Sorry. No, you're good. But I. At the beginning, I used to always mix it up because everyone would call it.
Serena
I've confused you because I called her down. Yeah.
Kelsey Anderson
But Barb, I feel like, you know, she reached out to him and I think that at first they were just friends, and then they started, like, going on dates. And then my dad realized how much, like, you know, they just work very well together. Honestly, she does remind me a lot of my mom in the sense of, like, she brings out, like, the fun side of my dad. He's more of, like, a quiet. Quiet and like, just calm person.
Serena
Serene.
Kelsey Anderson
Yes. And he brings out, or she brings out, like, a fun side of him and she's, like, just very vibrant. Just like my mom was. So. Yeah, it's special.
Serena
That's beautiful. Well, we're so happy for him. And we are so happy for you and Joey and All the exciting things to come for you guys and wedding planning and David's bridal and all the things.
Kelsey Anderson
Yes. We're going to have to ask you about honeymooning.
Serena
Yeah, yeah, we're. We're here.
Drew Phillips
Anything you want our listeners to know you got coming up or anything like that?
Kelsey Anderson
I honestly, I only really look at my calendar a week in advance now because I right now, it's been a.
Drew Phillips
Little American Idol in April.
Kelsey Anderson
American Idol, American Idol in April. I'm super excited for that. And, yeah, I don't know. Joey's going back on Dancing with the Stars tour coming up, and then it got extended, so he's going back at the very end of the tour. So I'm excited to see him, you know, little twinkle toes again. Yeah. But, yeah, I don't know. I'm excited for. To see what's coming up. Honestly, I don't even know what I've got coming up.
Serena
It's okay. We've. We've been there. I get it. We're like, just coming out of that season of life, I feel like where you're like, don't ask me anything more than, like, a week ahead, because I don't know.
Drew Phillips
Kelsey, thank you so much for being a guest today on Bachelor Happy Hour.
Kelsey Anderson
Thank you guys for having me. It's been a blast, of course.
