Welcome back to Back to a Happy Hour.
Rachel
I'm Charity. And I'm Rachel. And today we have a very special guest. We have Vanderpump Rules and Perfect Match alumni and my very good friend Ali Luber. And, Ali, welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour.
Ali Luber
Yay. Thank you, guys. So good to see you both.
Charity
So good to see you. I think the last that I saw you was at Miami swim week, which, by the way, you absolutely crashed it. I was like, period.
Ali Luber
Allie, that was so good. Thank you. I mean, that was seriously so fun. Like, that was so fun. But one of the scariest. Like, I don't. I've never walked. Well, I walked when I was younger, but, like, nothing like that, you know? But, like, doing that also in a swimsuit. I was like, okay, I just did this, like, on Netflix. I can walk down a Runway.
Charity
Just get absolutely. I was like, yeah, you just did a whole series where you were in swimsuits, like, every day, every hour.
Rachel
Looked absolutely incredible. And we are so proud of you. I watched Perfect Match, obviously, and I thought you did so good. So for those who don't know, let's get into Perfect Match a little bit. Tell us why. And I would also love to know astrologically why you decided to do Perfect Match.
Ali Luber
Honestly, Rachel, I. I think if I didn't talk to you. I don't know.
Rachel
You can't put this on me.
Charity
Rachel's like, no, no, no, no, no. I take no responsible.
Rachel
I'm 100% responsible.
Ali Luber
No, honestly, though, like. Because I remember we were, like, hanging out, and you were telling me all about it, like, your experience, and, like, you were kind of going through it because you had just gotten back, too. But then it was actually weird because, like, a week later, my manager, Carly, you know, reached out with the opportunity, and I was like, okay. Well, like, Rachel was just telling me about it, and it sounded really fun. And I think I. I was definitely intrigued by the idea. I had never done a dating show, you know, like, you guys, but I definitely was intrigued because this one sounded like Perfect Match sounded more. And even you were like, it's fun. Like, go in and just have fun. And I was like, was the energy that I was in or, like, wanting to be in, and, you know, even, like, the production or whoever it was, the casting team that I was talking to, they were like, it's fun. Like, it's meant to be fun, and it's an experiment, but, like, you know, there's no pressure of. Of anything. And I just wanted to go in and be like, can I even form a crush? Like, I. You know what I'm. You know what I mean? So I was definitely hesitant because I'm not. Believe it or not, I'm usually pretty shy and, like, reserved.
Charity
That's so funny.
Rachel
Really?
Charity
No, honestly, you. Like, that's. I was saying. I was like, I was going to ask if you had any hesitations, because I was like, it seemed like you just went in and, like, you were, like, fully yourself, which I can appreciate. No, truly, like, it's like a compliment. Like, I feel like you were not putting on. You were just, like, existing as is, which obviously, like, I feel like that's what made the show.
Ali Luber
Thank you. It definitely. I mean, a lot of people are like, oh, my God, you're so different from, like, Vanderpump Ali. And I'm like, well, I would hope so. I mean, I was in, like, a serious relationship. And also, you know, you're still living your everyday life. Like, it was more a lifestyle show. I was, you know, sleeping in my own bed. I was still hanging out with my friends, and I'm just there to, like, support my boyfriend. This was, like spring break in Mexico. Cameras on you 24 7. So it's like, I would hope that I'd be a little. A little different, but, yeah, I definitely think the Moment I got there, I was just like, okay. Like, I really did forget the cameras were there.
Charity
And that's so good.
Ali Luber
I had fun. But, yeah, definitely a different experience, for sure. More watching it back. Watching it back was hard, but, yeah, I don't know. But also, like, at the same time, like, you. You guys know me, my friends know me, my family knows me. So they're like, you're just being so. It is almost, like, freeing now being on the other side of, like, okay, well, you know that that's me without the Saturn in my first house of always trying to, you know, make sure I'm, like, put together and everything is, like, perfect. But instead it's like, no, this is, like, raw, real. I'm not great at dating. So that was that.
Charity
What would you say was, like, the hardest part, like, while you were filming? Was it, like. Because I think you talked about it a lot, like, being indecisive and, like, I can feel it, or I can imagine, like, in that setting where you're, like, having to choose or you're having to make a choice of, like, okay, like, who do I match with and who am I more compatible with? Like, how. How was that for you?
Rachel
The Libra moon was Libra. It really was.
Ali Luber
And then. And Rachel, you know this. But, like, I'm also. I have, for the astrology people out there, an Aquarius stellium. All in my 12th house. Aquarius is very. They march to the beat of their own drum. They're very detached. And so dating in general for, like, Aquarius Venuses or just Aquariuses in general, it takes time. And it's also, like, they're very weird, quirky, but, like, specific with the type of people that they're drawn to. Usually it never is, like, the same pattern, I guess. But it's all living in my 12th house. So I think the hardest part, the 12th house in astrology is like, seclusion, privacy. It is like, let me go in my bedroom, lock my door, and journal or, like, write music. Like, what am I feeling? And so that's how I'm used to processing my emotions and where I'll make my decisions. So that was the hardest part, for sure. Like, you guys. I mean, obviously, being on the Bachelor, like, you guys had to also make decisions. So, like, I don't feel like you guys did that. I journaled. Yeah.
Rachel
Did you say perfect match? You do not get.
Ali Luber
You don't have that.
Rachel
Because on the Bachelor, I would journal, and you had those moments where people would be on dates. You went off time perfect matches 247 on when you're in the house, which you were from the beginning. And I love. I think also it's so interesting because Perfect Matches never had someone from Bravo come into this universe. And it was so refreshing to watch you go in and really be yourself and just not know the cameras were there because I think a lot of people can put it on. And you were so yourself the whole time. Thanks.
Ali Luber
Yeah, I definitely. Yeah. Usually you crash out in private, but that was all just there. But there's no option because you're like, no, Rachel. Like, even when I would go in the room or like, try to have a minute, they'd be like, back out. Like, we were not really encouraged to always be out of the room. But even the rooms, there's still cameras. But like, yeah, it was really hard. They took my Kindle, so it's like I really didn't.
Charity
Nothing, like nothing.
Ali Luber
Literally nothing. Which, like, usually I would. I feel like I'd be fine. Like actually like the beginning part when I was in a hotel for like a day or two.
Charity
Yeah.
Ali Luber
In Mexico. Like, I still had Netflix, but I had my. I had my Kindle, but like a beautiful view of the ocean and a balcony. That was fine. But when you are encouraged to always be, like, interacting. Um, yeah, I was just. By the end, my. I was just spent. Like, my battery was just kind of done. Uh, so that was the hardest part. Probably not getting those moments to really even process what I was feeling. Reality TV is just so interesting because it's not a normal human experience at all. But it's also kind of fascinating in a way where it does test your own abilities in a way. Like, do you know what I mean?
Charity
It's almost like, how well do you know yourself? Or, like, trust yourself, like, to be able to make these choices, to be able to do XYZ and not, like, have regrets. And it's okay if you do, but it's like, I. I totally, like, get the sense of like, once you're on the other side of it, it's like, ah, like, you really have more information than you did in that current moment. And it's like, ah, did I make the right choice? But it's hard not to, like, you know, beat yourself up about it. It's just like, you did your best with what was presented at that current time.
Ali Luber
Totally. Yeah. I learned a lot about myself and how it's okay to make a decision and, you know, not necessarily regret it, hopefully. But it's okay if you do. Also. Yeah, that's hard because I always. And you get it, Rachel. I'm sure, like, with your Capricorn Libra placements. Like, my capricorn is, like, a lot of pressure, wanting to make the right choice.
Rachel
And Charity is a Capricorn, too.
Ali Luber
Yeah.
Charity
I was like, I need you to, like, dissect me a little bit.
Rachel
Oh, my God.
Ali Luber
Yes. Because. Okay. Do you know your moon and rising?
Charity
Yes. So my moon is Aries, and my rising is Scorpio.
Ali Luber
Oh, my God. Love. Okay, so you're a water. You're a water rising like me. But I love that you have a fire moon because that's. You have that emotional boundary. So that's nice. Correct. Yeah. Yeah. I'm like, our libra moon is over here right now.
Rachel
No, we cannot.
Ali Luber
It's like, I literally just want everyone to be happy. Like, I actually was like, send me home. Like, I don't know.
Rachel
I don't care.
Charity
Like, no, I know. It broke heart when I saw that. I was like, oh, my God.
Rachel
No.
Charity
Ali, like, is, like, about. Like, the weight is on her. I was like, it's okay. Like, you don't have to make a choice right now.
Ali Luber
Thank you.
Rachel
Yeah.
Ali Luber
And that's, like, there's so many little things that later, obviously, again, it's tv, right. The cameramen are there. They need to go to bed, too. Like, it's a whole production, but it is. You know, no one should ever feel like, you know, not having a decision is a decision and not knowing is absolutely. But yeah. In that moment, I wish that I handled it a little bit differently. But.
Rachel
Yeah.
Ali Luber
Wait, you're a Capricorn rising, right?
Rachel
I am, yeah.
Charity
Okay.
Ali Luber
So, yeah.
Rachel
But I want to talk about. Okay. Before we get into kind of, like, the end of it all. And if you want to go there, whatever you are comfortable talking about, I want to talk about going in. You met Jimmy. What was that like? What drew you to him? What's his astrologer like? What's his placement? Are you guys compatible?
Ali Luber
I honestly don't really, like, okay, what drew me to him? I feel like I almost. When I, like, the. The very first day, like, again, I just feel like I was on a completely different page than everyone or, like, got a different rulebook, because I was totally, like. And this. I was more like, oh, my God, the girls. Like, I feel like that's also just my, like, first. I'm like, I want to, like, who are the girls? Yeah, that. That's kind of the safe comfort, I think, level. Even Rachel, I'm sure, like, you because you know you have to like share that with them at night and things like that and it's kind of just like an on. Yeah, it's not normal.

That's actually crazy.
Ali Luber
No, it's perfect. Match is like we had our literal own, like, freaking bungalow. Like, you have your own bathroom, your own bed, everything. So. And that's the intimate. And again, you don't have tv, you don't have Spotify.
Rachel
Like, there's no music, there's no noise. You're just sitting in this quiet room, like waiting for production wake you up. Like, I would lay in bed like this.
Ali Luber
Like, I.
Rachel
It took me a while to get comfortable.
Charity
Yeah.
Ali Luber
And I feel like I went into like hyper. Like, okay, we're trauma bonding. Like, no, you're literally my husband. Cuddle me. Like, I was just like 0 to 100.
Charity
Like, come here. I need snuggles.
Ali Luber
Yes. Yes.
Rachel
And
Ali Luber
yeah, it's a weird situation, but also like, no, it was fun. The first. My first, like, vibe of Jimmy was I thought he was cute. I had never seen Love is Blind. So I didn't know because you know how you had like the glow up. I didn't know was before I was like, oh my gosh, he's really cute. He kind of looked like my type. Just like, basically, I don't know. And we. He was really easy to talk to and more charming than I. Than the other guys were not. And just like, to me, I felt, yeah, like kind of vibing. But also we only had like 10 minutes literally to talk to everyone before Nick Lachey came in and just started the games. So like, I really ever. You know, it's kind of a weird. Yeah, just kind of talk. You're like, okay, well, we talked for 10 minutes. And I liked that. So it's like, I pick you and I don't know. But honestly, like, I can say this now, but I kind of knew too. From the beginning. I was like, okay, so you go in hopeful. I'm like, what if my soulmate is here? You know, that's so exciting. What if. But I kind of knew immediately. I was like, probably not. And that's okay. But it's weird how you catch feelings, like, quickly.
Charity
I was going to ask, like, obviously you guys kind of connect very early on, but do you feel like there was a point where like Yalls or you personally felt that maybe we didn't see the relationship start to plateau or you felt like you weren't getting what you needed from him to feel like, okay, this makes sense. This is my person. Like, yeah,
Ali Luber
I. I guess I felt like we had a really strong connection when it was just Us. And then the part that got confusing. And again, Libra Moon, he was like, telling everyone else and they don't show this much and that's fine. It's like, not, you know, but basically a lot of the girls in the house were starting to kind of tell me, like, hey, he's saying different things to us than to you, Cassie. Things that are different than what he's telling you. And there were moments throughout the show that I'm surprised, honestly, didn't make it, where people would almost, like, would call him out and ask him about it and then he would, like, talk his way out of it. And I was just so confused because I was like, it's also fine because Jimmy and I were always on the same page of like, let's be open.
Charity
Yeah.
Ali Luber
Until there was a part where I was like, okay, I do like, you. Like, I'm down to like, let's close this and, like, you know, be together and give it a fair shot instead of it. It's just going to get messier as it did. But, yeah, I think it just. Everything got a little confusing with the whole, like he said, she said, within our relationship, we're now looking back again. I wish that I was a little more just, like, trusting my own, but that's hard because if he is, I don't know. It was. No, it was a coaster. Yeah.
Charity
That's a lot.
Ali Luber
Rachel on it. Like, were you getting.
Rachel
Because I wanted to say my season was a little different and the advice I gave Ali going into it was just to be open and meet everyone and see if there's a connection. Because on my season, it was like, day one coupled up and that was it. No one else switched but me. And I. I think from my point of view, when I was watching it, your season was a little bit more willing to switch around, which can be confusing. So I was wondering how you were handling that, because I remember I would lay in bed specifically when I was matched with this guy Scott, and I'm like, he literally playing the game, but, like, I don't know what's happening. Is he trying to stay another week, but then he would choose me again? And I'm like, what is going on here? It's so confusing because everyone's trying to stay in the house, but then you're trying to actually find a connection.
Charity
Right?
Rachel
Yeah.
Ali Luber
Also, like, the whole, like, staying in the house thing, because I feel like I see so many comments where people are like, they just want to stay in the house. Honestly, like, it would have been fine to Leave the house. Like, that's what I said.
Rachel
I'm like, I want to leave.
Ali Luber
You have to film all the time.
Rachel
You're always.
Ali Luber
Mike. You have no phone, no alone time. Like, I was at, like, Midway. I was like, I'll go to the hotel.
Rachel
Like, the hotel seemed like a vacation. Everyone in our hotel had so much fun.
Ali Luber
Yes.
Rachel
And they did.
Ali Luber
I remember you telling me that, too. You're like, I think that they had more fun back at the hotel. And I'm like, same with, like, our cast. I think that that was kind of the. Because there wasn't the pressure. But that's funny that you. Yeah. I remember you saying, stay open. And I remember watching your season and thinking the same thing from a. From an audience perspective. I was like, the point of the show is to, like, test your match. And I definitely feel I did that. And I'm glad I did that. Really. No regrets in the sense of that, you know, the mess of it all. But I remember you telling me that. And so the whole time. And I remember, like, a few times, and I did get my phone, like, calling you and, like, trying to give you updates, and you're like, stay open. Have fun and be yourself. And I was like.
Rachel
And you did. I was so proud of you. I think you really made the show for me. You were so entertaining to watch. You were hilarious and what you were supposed to do.
Ali Luber
Thank you. Yeah, thank you. I thought you were incredible because that's like. And also, I think Jimmy and I did actually really like each other, and it doesn't show. I, like, even on our. The last date, I was so shocked watching it. And this is like, you know, we're all. We've all done reality tv. We know how it goes. And you get this. They. They build the story and you get the edit you get. But, like, we had so much fun on that date, and I was actually so excited to go on that date with him, but it. It definitely looked more like I was kind of hesitant when really, at the end, I was just like, whatever. Like, this has been a train wreck, and I'm just gonna let my emotions be my emotions. And even everyone in the house knew that I was, like, happy to be back with Jimmy and that I did miss him when he was gone. So it was. But it was an interesting, just layout of every. I don't know. It's an emotional test, honestly.
Charity
Yeah. Where do you guys. You and Jimmy, like, stand today? Like friends?
Ali Luber
We're on different journey, different planets.
Charity
Oh, God, that's valid. Honestly, Different. Different Planets. Truly, I appreciate that.
Ali Luber
I was, like, not really. Like, yeah, we. I feel like we were. We had chemistry, but the compatibility and, like, our values were just never aligned. Like, we were never on the same page with a lot of, like, our deep values. So we. I think we knew deep down it wasn't, but we did try, like, after the show is such a weird. You get out of that experience, and that person's like, your best friend. And we tried, and we had a lot of fun. You met my friends, and, like, we're good, but, like, no, I love that.
Rachel
I don't know if I loved him for you. I think you are just so fun. And I don't know Jimmy personally, but I'm. I'm happy that, you know, you get to have these.
Ali Luber
I would say this with him and
Rachel
go and go your own way.
Ali Luber
I love it.
Charity
Thank you. I was like, I think there's a little bit of, like, we could see, like, energy levels were not necessarily, like, always matching, and that's not a bad thing. But, like, you know, sometimes you need the opposite. But I was like, yeah, I just don't.
Ali Luber
I don't see it. And you guys saying that is kind of. Well, also, I know you guys. But also, that was kind of the. The sentiment of the girls in the house as well. Like, that was kind of what I was hearing, too. And so. Yeah. But that. We're just different.
Charity
Yeah. Yeah.
Rachel
Can we talk about a little Ali, the finale? Because I want to know where your head's at, just emotionally, Because I remember going into our finale, I was in such a new relationship. I was, like, just ready for the show to be over and to know him outside the show. And then you have to sit in front of these people, and you. You have to say, oh, we're the perfect match. Even though, in my head, at the time of, like, we're not the perfect match, I have to say this. Like, where was your head? Because you were kind of in a similar position.
Ali Luber
I honestly, like, I mean, I knew Jimmy and I were gonna win. I don't think we won. I got last place, like, every challenge. Like, I was like, I'm definitely not here for the game aspect. Like, I think we all. Yeah, I was there to have fun. And those challenges, they were fun, but, you know, I feel like, okay, even Damari, Marissa, and, like, they would not mind me saying this, but they, from the beginning were like, we want to win all the challenges. We're here to win. Like, game brain on competitive Mental. I love. Good. You'll, like, me then because you can have it. Like, I, I don't think I even like the reunion for me was not about being like were the perfect match but more of just. I was actually so excited to be at the reunion with Jimmy. I really thought I would like never see him again after he like set himself home and, and that was a wake up call to be the next day. It was like, oh fuck, I like him. You know, that's like the worst and best feeling but you know when you're like emotions, you know. And so I was excited to just like be there with him and I felt like our journey even like deserved it. But yeah, that reunion was tough. I, I didn't think we would win. I was actually surprised that afterwards some like our friends said they voted for us. I was like, really? I thought that was sweet. But we did put in some elbow grease there.

I just received my order from Dietz and Watson. I am so excited. I got chicken sausages and flavored cheddar cheeses. You know, I'm from New England and I know a genuine New York State cheddar when I see it. They are infused with real ingredients, iconic flavors and a smooth creamy finish. I think my favorite one was the Champagne cheddar. It just is delicious. And the chicken sausage, they never have antibiotics, no nitrates are added. They're gluten free and have bold, authentic recipes. Dietz and Watson has been handcrafting premium meats and artisan cheeses for over 85 years. They're family owned and operated and they've never cut corners. Ever. They're transparent about what goes into their food and what doesn't and they know good taste doesn't need a long list of ingredients. Dietz and Watson is simply made. It's as simple as that. Rachel
I've tried out Facetune and it's so fun to see what I look like with different hairstyles and different lighting. I definitely recommend it. Before you make a big change, you can even try out different makeup looks. Download Facetune free on the App Store or Google Play. You know, history is full of surprising little details. Well, I thought you handled it as best you could and it's just such a, that finale. It's difficult also because I feel, and this is my opinion that you're sitting there, you're kind of like ready for it to be done. And it feels like the people who were not inside the house, they're like, okay, well, lights, camera, action. This is my screen time so I'm going to say whatever I can say to get on camera. Do you feel like your castmates were similar? Yes.
Ali Luber
That's such a good. Yeah, because. Yeah, you go in. Yeah, because I, I remember like we were all so excited to like go out after or. No, no, that was the next night. Because I don't know if yours was like this Rachel, but oh my God, that night, because you go do the reunion, then we have to like drive to do the actual like voting, which by the way took hours. Like we were literally filming or not filming but like working until like 7am like all throughout the night. Which is the worst night of my life, by the way.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
Terrible.
Ali Luber
But yeah, like we were all just so excited to be done and to be demiked and free. And then even like when Hashim like brought up what he brought up, like, you can see in my face, like, I'm like, what's he going to say? Like, I genuinely was like, huh? And I was like, yeah. Oh, we did like what? It was just. Yeah, I think we all were in completely different mindsets, like going into it. But I also understand like, like from his perspective and I'm sure production was involved, you know, and yeah, all of that. So I get it. I don't have to love the situation to accept it, you know? Yeah, yeah.
Rachel
Were there any conversations that were had in the D Miked hotel period. Because for us, that's when everything, like, actually got brought up. And that was a hard time for me.
Ali Luber
That's nice. That was.
Charity
Oh, like, when you guys were, like, together. Oh, wow.
Rachel
It was like after we had filmed you all stay in the hotel because then you film everything post because you can't know who's there before.
Charity
Right.
Rachel
And I feel like that was a rough, turbulent time for my cast. Did you feel like you guys were just having a good time after? Were feelings being brought up? I.
Ali Luber
And not, like. No, no. Like, as they should, but they all had so much fun after their union. I didn't. I was definitely left feeling just like. Well, you know, beside, like, judged and embarrassed and all of those feelings, but it does it. I was like. I really like Jimmy and I was excited. We were, like, back together and. And this is just my experience, but I felt like, you know, the way that it was handled, you always, like, you know, and you, like, think of, like, how would you want your friend to be treated? Or if you have, like, a little sister or someone like that? And it's like, I just didn't have, like, the support, I think, that I. I did from the girls. And that was great. But everyone had their match or was, like, so excited to just be, like, done. Like, everyone went out. I think I had to go film. Yeah. I had to go do, like, confessionals or testimonials while everyone else was, like, having fun. And I had to, like, go talk about this thing that I didn't want to talk about. But, you know, it is what it is. And I. I did not do, in my opinion, anything wrong. And I think, like, what? Yeah, like, and I think to what you just said, Rachel, too, like, I never had alone time with Jimmy without a mic or cameras. And, you know, they, like, keep you so separated to make sure that we don't talk if it's not on camera. So I also, like, never had a chance to really, one, process everything. Everything moves quickly and slowly at the same time. And then two, I never had a chance to just, like, have a moment to actually talk to Jimmy about everything in that night, you know, so it was just kind of like a blindsided emotion for me. But, yeah, I'm just happy that it's over and it's kind of sad. Only in the way that, like, I thought the experience was so fun, and then the ending just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Rachel
Yeah.
Ali Luber
Jesus. Sorry. See, everything, it's like, I just. And I also learned that it's okay to not always say everything that you think. Yeah. But the re. Also, like, the editing of the reunion blew my mind. I was like, wow. Because it just went down so differently. And, yeah, what was different?
Rachel
That wasn't shown.
Ali Luber
So, like, when Hashim brought it up, Jimmy was super reactive and not in a. And I get it. Yeah, I probably would have. I probably, honestly. And I was even, you know, because we're miked, but I was like, stop. We literally have, like, five minutes left. Like, we can talk after, like, lock in. Let's get through this. Like, are you on my. My team or not? You know, and he just wasn't. He, like, got up and was like, that's not my match. And was, like, joking and talking to people while I'm literally, like, what the just happened? Like, you know, I just was in that moment feeling really shitty and, like, yeah. You know, Hashim and Jimmy, like, later that night were, like, joking and talking while I was just, like, in the corner. Like, oh, I don't like that.
Rachel
Yeah, that's crazy.
Ali Luber
It was really shitty. And honestly, I should have even known in that moment, too, of, like, this is not my person. But your mind is just so. I was just so sensitive at the time with, like, everything where it's like, I felt bad and I was trying to explain to Jimmy everything where, you know, now looking back, yeah, I need to do that. And I. You know, but I think I just. Yeah, I felt I was in the wrong and I felt bad and, you know, was it. Proud of my own decisions, but again, like, yeah, time, perspective. I think it's weird watching it back and just seeing how different the night appeared versus how it really was. But that's, you know, reality tv. It's what we sign up for. I understand that, but, yeah.
Charity
Was there, like, at any point did, like, in, like, either one of them, like, offer, like, support or just, like, kind, Like, I guess kindish words? I don't even know.
Ali Luber
Jimmy came over at, like, one point and was, like, trying to. To talk to me. Hashim didn't. And, yeah, I wasn't. Yeah, I definitely didn't feel, like, support from the guys. Dave, maybe a little, but it was all, like, the girls. Like, I was. I was okay. I was more. And even, like, production. I was just really like, wow. Like, I. I just felt kind of like, what a joke. Like, I really did what was asked of me. I went and I did the thing and I had fun and like, that naive to not only the cameras and production, but even just to the people that I've surrounded myself with, like, where the. Is the empathy? Like, that's crazy. And I. I didn't match with Jimmy. I was matched with the sheen. That's the dynamic of the show. And we drink and we go to a room, and, you know, and it's like, too and short. I could have handled that night differently, but I didn't. And I think at that time, it just was a lot of emotions and feelings because I didn't like him. Jimmy, at this point. And so I was just, like. Felt bad.
Rachel
Yeah.
Ali Luber
But, yeah, I think watching it back was just. It's just wild how different. And then to hear the audience, like, a lot of comments will be like, oh, my God. Like, I feel bad for Jimmy. And I'm like, me, too. Watching it. I'm like, yeah, like, I get it. That edit. You know, it looks like I lied or like, whatever, but it's like, the reality is just, you know, a little different room with us. Yeah.
Rachel
I will say, when I was there and production was talking to us, because they come in and we all talk, it was very much like, from what they told us, what's happening in the bedroom? Like, unless you're having, like, an insane conversation, we would get, like, a clip of us in the room as we went to bed, and then nothing else was really shown. There was a lot happening in our villa. Like, it's a show. Like you said, you're going into this room, you're dating. Like, it happens on the Bachelor.
Charity
Yeah.
Rachel
It feels like production really kind of threw the cast under the bus a little this season with those intimate moments that, I don't know, needed to necessarily be shown. I think there's a lot you can imply from going into a room. And I feel like, specifically with the night that you're talking about, I do feel like production maybe could have been like, all right, like, this is pretty heated. Like, yeah. You know, it felt like they were really not. I was shocked as much as they were on my season.
Ali Luber
Well, yeah. Thank you for saying that, Rachel. I was shocked, too. They also told us, like, you know, when you first get into the house, they give you a little tour, and they give you the rules, and they're like, yeah, there's cameras, but they. We angle them up at a certain time in the night, and it's not that type of show. And I had watched your season, like, to prepare. Yeah, it's not that type of show. And of course, we sign our life away. I get it.
Charity
I know.
Ali Luber
And we're aware.
Rachel
I know.
Ali Luber
But unless you're really in that situation. I remember like watching Love island and your season and you think oh my God, I would never feel comfortable doing that. I would never act that way. But then you're in the moment and cameras are always there and you are drinking and you do feel like you're literally best friends with these people. It's a weird mind block. It just is. And like so you do get comfortable. And yeah, I definitely was shocked at a lot like even them distance me, even hearing me say like my mom having to hear me say like I have planted to my 8,000 now in the morning. I was like oh my God, like what?
Rachel
Well first of all that was iconic but the like they were showing so much in the bedroom. I'm like on my seat when they would show up me making out. I was like, I was like this is horrific. And they were fully like, okay, here is everything in 4K. Like I was shocked. Okay guys, that's all for part one with Ali. So stay tuned for part two dropping tomorrow.
Ali Luber
Bye.
