Ashley Hebert
Hello, Malcolm Glauble here. We're here in New York City with T Mobile for Business recording another episode of Revisionist history about how 5G network slicing strengthens trust and connections across worldwide industries.
Podcast Host (e.g., Janice or Austin)
Slicing can be used for so many different things. We're here with our friends from CNN from Siemens Energy.
The ways that it can be used.
Frankly, are limitless and are really, really built to think through.
Sponsor Voice (e.g., TurboTax or Ollie)
How.
Ashley Hebert
How can T mobile understand the pain points that our customers have?
Podcast Host (e.g., Janice or Austin)
Smash those pain points and help you deliver very specific outcomes. The new chicken bacon ranch street chalupa, the taco Bell, you can't get just one. So that's not like some marketing hyperbole. You literally can't get just one. They come in twos. So, like, if you want just one, you're gonna need to find a friend who loves slow roasted chicken bacon and avocado ranch sauce, or a friend of a friend, or have an awkward conversation with a complete stranger to see if they're obsessed with chicken bacon and avocado ranch.
Ashley Hebert
Or.
Podcast Host (e.g., Janice or Austin)
Or you could just, like, eat them both because you're obsessed with slow roasted chicken bacon. Okay, you get the idea. The new chicken bacon ranch street chalup is a Taco Bell. By participating Taco Bell US locations for a limited time while supplies last.
Rachel
Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Bachelor happy hour. I am Rachel. And filling in for charity today we have the one and only golden bachelorette, Joan.
Joan
Hi, Rachel. It's so good to be back. Today we have another fabulous bachelorette. Everyone, please welcome Ashley Rosenbaum. Hi, Ashley. Welcome finally to happy hour.
Ashley Hebert
Yay. You guys are so sweet to have me on and even think about me. I thought I was, like, long lost in the clouds in the past.
Rachel
Absolutely not.
Joan
I mean, you're an icon. You will never fade away. Believe me, I remember your season perfectly.
Ashley Hebert
You do? That's so sweet. Thanks, guys. You made me. You know, you're boosting my self esteem this morning.
Joan
Well, I don't think you should need it, but okay, we'd love to do that.
Rachel
Ashley, you look fantastic. I just want the listeners to know this is your first time on happy hour. I know that you are so beloved by Bachelor nation. They love you and your family and your story, and we're gonna get into so much today. But we're gonna start out because we just saw you in person at the bachelorette reunion.
Joan
I know.
Ashley Hebert
We had so much fun. It was so nice to see.
Joan
That was so fun. I got to meet so many people I had never met before, but I feel like I'm old. So I've been watching you guys for years. I feel like I'm your mother. And I finally got to be in the room with all these people that I felt like I like. I know. And people say that to me all the time. I feel like I know you But I really do feel like that about you guys, so now I finally do. It was such a privilege. Well, how did you feel when you got the call saying, can you come back and join this?
Ashley Hebert
I was really excited, honestly. Like, I feel like when you watch the show or when you hear about somebody, whether it's through social media or on the actual show, I feel like you get a glimpse of what you think they're like, and then when you meet them in person, there's just so much more to each person than what you see. And I just. I don't know. That's what made me really excited to go back and meet everybody that I hadn't met before and then just kind of rekindle friendships and. And chat about things that we've all been through and just kind of, like, catch up and just, you know, have a little escape from my reality, which is very crazy in my real life, and just kind of like, go back to that. That land where it was magical. Right. When we were on the show is like, it was almost like this escape from reality. Right? Like, I don't feel like. It felt to me when I got the call, like we were going to go on a vacation with a. Like a girls trip. I know.
Joan
It did feel like a girl's trip. Girls trip.
Ashley Hebert
So I was. I was really happy to go to that. I was able to go.
Rachel
It is so amazing to have you. I think you truly have, like, one of the most memorable seasons. Everyone, especially Charity, was so excited for you to be there. And I just have to add this in for Charity, my co host, you are her number one guest that she's wanted on this podcast. She absolutely loves you and your season.
Ashley Hebert
Wait, I need to know more about this. Like, what is she. We gotta bring her on.
Rachel
I know. I literally wish I could FaceTime her for a quick second, because when we first started this podcast, when they said, who do you want as a guest? Ashley Rosenbaum. She loves your season and she loves you with good reason. So for everyone that doesn't know, one of the seasons that Charity went back to watch before she came on this crazy journey was Ashley's. I mean, she is just so excited that we have you on. And she said she can't be here.
Ashley Hebert
I just don't understand why. Like, what was special? I mean, I don't know.
Rachel
I mean, you had some of the most iconic moments ever, and I do want to get into it and talk about that.
Ashley Hebert
I can't wait.
Rachel
Oh, my gosh. And also, I mean, you just, like, had Such a tough time on your season as well. Not only were you with everybody, I think people don't remember what they put.
Sponsor Voice (e.g., TurboTax or Ollie)
Yeah.
Joan
You had so much turbulence on your season. It's like it was like a soap.
Ashley Hebert
Opera every single week, but everybody successful.
Rachel
And the hottest kissing in the rain scene in bachelor history. Let it be known.
Ashley Hebert
That was very good. That was very memorable. Even though we're divorced now, I can still sit in the moment and be like, yeah, that was hot.
Rachel
Absolutely.
Ashley Hebert
That really was. And we traveled all over the world. Like, think about it.
Rachel
Your travel.
Ashley Hebert
Hong Kong, Thailand, Fiji. Like, we had good travel and we made the crazy.
Joan
Yeah, yeah.
Rachel
No, absolutely. So before we get into all this, because we will absolutely be walking down memory lane. You said that you were so excited to come back to the mansion and see your girlfriends. Who were you excited to catch up with?
Ashley Hebert
You know, I like all I like. You know, I'm old, I'm older. Right.
Rachel
Everyone needs to stop with this.
Ashley Hebert
I'm in a different generation of bachelorette. So like Trista, obviously we queen our matriarch. Yet of course, Diana has been through a lot in her life recently and things that I relate to. So I was excited to catch up with her and like, she's always just like a breath of fresh air for me. Like just really real, kind of down to earth, fun, cool. Like, I always, like, hang out with her. Ali fed Itowski, like, always. You know, I'm always interested in what she's up to, her thoughts on things. Like, she has a different perspective on things. So I always love chit chatting with her. And then Emily Maynard, she's my favorite.
Rachel
Bachelorette because she is so iconic as well.
Ashley Hebert
Want to know why I love her? Because she's beautiful. She's so freaking smart and like, people don't give her credit. Like, she's the funniest bachelorette. She is the wittiest, the quickest. Like, she'll stand up for herself. Like, I love that about her. So I always love hanging out with her too. So those are kind of like my tops.
Joan
And then I think it was always.
Ashley Hebert
I was so excited to meet you. You held my hand in one of the little groups settings. Rach. Like, you're so sweet.
Rachel
I need it to be known that Ash is one of the tiniest little humans I've ever seen. And I just wanted to pick her up and carry her around the whole time.
Ashley Hebert
There's no way you could pick me up. You're tiny.
Rachel
You are the tiniest. You are so cute and you are the best And I have a question, actually getting into the Taylor, Frankie, Paul of it all. Coming in.
Ashley Hebert
Did you know anything?
Joan
The reason we were there?
Ashley Hebert
Yep. Okay. I'm so sorry. I never. I didn't watch anything. I'm really guilty of not knowing much. I know.
Joan
That's okay.
Ashley Hebert
A part of this, like, the scandal associated with it. I know some of it, but I really am. I was coming in. I like to have my own opinion on people, too. I don't like to do any deep dives because you never know what you can trust. Honestly, like, I love just.
Joan
Yeah, well.
Ashley Hebert
And like, formulating my own feeling about them. That's one thing that I'm good at is knowing who to stay close to and know who know. I love that far from. And like, of course, I didn't spend that much time with her, but, like, she seemed like a great energy. She seemed like she had this. This modesty to her. Like, I didn't feel like she was like, here I am. I've been on reality tv. I'm like the bomb. Like, I felt like she was really humble and genuine, and that's what I like most about people.
Joan
Yeah. So I love that you had a very different view. Like, we've all kind of seen her, I think, on Secret Lives and the fact that you had not seen her and so you were getting, like, a real true first impression. And I love the way you described her. I felt a lot of the same way. Do you have any, like, predictions for her season now that you have kind of met her and have this kind of fresh view of her?
Ashley Hebert
Good question. Do I have predictions about her season? I think that she. I think she's been. It seems like she's been through a lot from what I've heard. So she's coming in with, like, a lot of life experience. You know, she's coming in in a different place than most bachelors come in. Because she has kids. She has one or two?
Joan
Three.
Ashley Hebert
She has kids. So that's number one. Right. Like, that changes everything. She's already been through maybe, like, some dramatic scandals. So I feel like she's coming in with, like, a fresh perspective and maybe like, a different priority. I don't know. I just feel like she's coming in differently. I think she's going to make a more mature decision. I think she's going to base her choice on qualities that are important and something you only learn as you go through things in life. So I don't think she's going to pick the hottest guy. I don't Think she's going to pick the guy that, like, gives her maybe those little butterflies?
Rachel
I think she still might pick the hottest guy.
Ashley Hebert
Oh, okay. Maybe that. That would be great.
Rachel
Like, that was my only advice to her. I said, pick the hottest one. Really? That is why I'm the one that had a successful engagement.
Ashley Hebert
Do anyone? Me.
Rachel
I did. I said it.
Joan
Good for you.
Ashley Hebert
You know what works?
Joan
You.
Ashley Hebert
I feel.
Joan
That's hilarious.
Ashley Hebert
Guys now. And I'm like, I used to. I used to be attracted to that type of guy, and now I'm like, totally not. I'm the opposite. It's.
Rachel
What are you now?
Ashley Hebert
I do not like guys that cannot put a screw in a wall. Like, you got to put a screw in a wall. You got to know how to use a drill bit. You got to know how to build some shit.
Rachel
You have to build her a shed if you want to be with Ashley.
Joan
I love that.
Ashley Hebert
I.
Joan
That would have been a perfect bachelor episode. Like, build something. Fix. Fix the toilet.
Ashley Hebert
I cannot. If I can put more stuff up on the wall than you. We're not a right fit. So for me, I mean, I'm, like, manly, scruffy, Bigger, like, thicker. Like, hairy.
Rachel
Can throw you around, toss you around.
Ashley Hebert
Yeah.
Joan
Like manly man. You want a manly man?
Ashley Hebert
He could wear boots. Like, that could be okay with me.
Joan
I don't know.
Ashley Hebert
Little, like Dickies Carhartt. I don't know.
Rachel
She likes the blue collar man. She's like the car heart. The dickies. Okay. I love it. Ash, what conversations were you in in the Mansion? For those who don't know, they kind of broke us up into groups and had us talk to Taylor based on our experiences on the show. So I was curious what you guys talked about.
Ashley Hebert
I mean, in. I was with the group of people that were successes, even though I wasn't really a success.
Rachel
But you are.
Ashley Hebert
You had me.
Rachel
I mean, you have children.
Joan
Yes, we were together.
Ashley Hebert
Yes, yes, yes, yes, exactly. So we. What did we talk about?
Joan
I think, like, she was really curious. I was surprised. Like, we didn't kind of wing it. She actually had some questions for us.
Ashley Hebert
Questions.
Sponsor Voice (e.g., TurboTax or Ollie)
Yes.
Joan
She had. Really? In fact, she said, like, I know where my shortcomings are. I remember her specifically saying this and, like, how am I not going. How am I going to do better? Picking a better match for me?
Ashley Hebert
Yeah. I think that's a really good insight. And that's what I'm talking about. She's coming in from a place with really good perspective. And like.
Joan
Yeah. Because she's picked two guys that Weren't great for her. I mean, like, I do feel like she was coming here with a different mindset. Like, I got to do this better. I have this great opportunity of all these men here that have kind of been hand selected for me. So these are people that they think would be a good match. So I got to do a good job of picking this person out. And they were rely on us really weirdly to give her advice. I mean, first of all, I'm old enough to be her mother, so it's a little weird. Like, it sounds probably pretty motherly, but coming from, like, you and from Trista and. Who else was with us? Somebody. Charity. And I think there was only maybe.
Rachel
Oh, Jojo.
Ashley Hebert
Oh, Jojo.
Joan
Jojo is with us. How could we forget Jojo? There was two over there. I know she's perfect. So I can't remember the advice we really gave her. Do you remember what we told her?
Rachel
I know Des was giving some good advice. I was listening from behind the counter because I was also trying to get advice. I. That's all I remember.
Joan
Are you gonna do another stint on the Bachelor that we don't know? Yeah.
Rachel
The Golden Bachelor. I won.
Sponsor Voice (e.g., TurboTax or Nature's Sunshine)
Yay.
Joan
You're still a baby. You're still a baby.
Ashley Hebert
You know, I remember talking to her about when she. She was talking about trying to remember. It was something about, like, how to pick. Do you go based on your gut? Do you go based on your brain? Do you go. I think we talked a lot about that.
Joan
I think you're right. Yep.
Ashley Hebert
And I think that needs to be different for every person. But I remember talking to her because, remember on my season, once I knew I wanted to leave with J.P. i wrote him a little journal every day, and that was really helpful when we were watching it back because he would understand the reasons why I did certain things or made certain decisions. Like, everything was kind of know Diary.
Rachel
Oh, my gosh.
Joan
So have you. Did you go back and watch your season with him?
Ashley Hebert
I'm trying to remember. I think we were actually in hiding at that point, so I think we watched it separately. I believe we watched maybe the last episode together. But that's great advice. That's something I would recommend for any Bachelorette. If you're feeling very confident in your selection early on, it'll just make your life easier when you go back and watch it to describing, you know, hey, you know, it's Hong Kong, and, you know, I'm going on a date with this person. I chose to go on. On a date with this person because of this. I want to see this. Like, if you're really transparent and open and honest while you're going through that process and you write it down, I think it just makes things so much easier. Right.
Joan
For you. Yeah.
Ashley Hebert
For the show, after the show aired.
Joan
Because, I mean, certainly that is a thing in Bachelor world that people have problems at the end that, like, well, you look like you were really falling in love with them. Like, you, you know, your feelings are now like, you know, making me like, second guess, do you really love me? So that's such great advice. You can say, here, look, read it. This is what I wrote at the time.
Ashley Hebert
Exactly.
Joan
Smart.

Joan
Do you have any predictions for her season? I mean, you know, she's a tough one.
Ashley Hebert
I feel like really, I don't know her well enough. Do I have predictions?
Joan
Yeah, I mean, she has kids. Someone has to really fit into a very specific life.
Ashley Hebert
So I think she's going to experience a lot of turmoil in her decision because I think she's going to maybe have her heart take her one place, her brain take her another place. Like when you have kids, you kind of have to think smart. You can't just be like, oh, I'm going to go with this person and like just sort it out, sort out the other things. You know, I really feel like she's going to experience some turmoil at the end with her final decision or, or maybe later on.
Rachel
That's my totally. I wanted to ask Ashley because for everyone who doesn't know, she had kind of one of the worst villains of all time, I would say the worst villain of all time. Okay, what would be your advice to, like, Bachelorettes, Taylor, anyone that was dealing with their Bentley?
Ashley Hebert
Oh, my goodness, how rude of him.
Rachel
No, he was actually horrific. And I think the producers. The fact that they allowed that to happen for more than two seconds is horrific. And I will say I was dying.
Ashley Hebert
No idea that was going on. So when I watched that back, I was like, what the. But can I tell? It was done, I think. Tell us something. Tell us on the podcast. You want to tell us? When it was airing, he texted me.
Rachel
What did he say to you?
Ashley Hebert
I don't know if it was him or a friend or he was texting from a friend's phone or something. And I honestly don't remember what it said, but it said something along the lines, like, hey, I'm sorry. I'm sorry that it's looking like this. You know, some of this stuff I did say, but some of the stuff that they're airing that I said about you, I had said about my ex wife. So he's like, not everything is as it seems. That's what the message was. And I remember getting it and being.
Joan
Like, did you text him back?
Ashley Hebert
No, no, no, no.
Joan
I do not accept that. Apologies. I do not let him up the hook.
Ashley Hebert
I did. I don't remember.
Joan
It was so long ago, but I remember crazy.
Rachel
There was a scene where, first of all, they put you on a roast date, which they should never do again in the history of ever. I think dates should be over and finished. Yours was actually horrific, Ashley.
Joan
It was the worst.
Ashley Hebert
It's funny is like, I'm not a serious person, and I love, like, joking around.
Rachel
You were laughing, but I would.
Ashley Hebert
But, you know, I'm gonna tell you what happened. I'm gonna tell you what happened. When people roast you, like, you can take it until they hit on something you're sensitive about. Right? Like, that's when it hits. So for me, going on when they asked me to be the bachelorette, I was like, why do they want me? Like, I'm cool. Very cool. I'm a little Cuban. Not like, I wouldn't say. I'm like, oh, wow, I'm so beautiful.
Rachel
You're stunning, first of all. And I.
Joan
Yes.
Ashley Hebert
Look at you. Look at that face of yours. I just want to see that. But I'm saying is, like, I didn't understand why they wanted me, so I went in with that insecurity. Like, why did they pick me? Am I worthy of this? You know? And then, like, there was, like, a little bit I remember hearing from, like, Some of the other bachelor of my season, like, kind of like, with some grumblings, like, why did they pick her type of thing. So I had that insecurity. So then when we went on to the rose, it's when they hit that spot for me. That's when I was like, oh, that sucks. Like, I can take anything else. You can say anything else about me. I really don't care. But they hit that soft spot, so I think that's what. That's what happened. But why would they do Bachelorette? Like, we're never been on to, like, them. The power.
Joan
But this is what.
Ashley Hebert
This is kind of what bothers me is, like, we're giving women the power when we're bringing a bachelorette on. We're putting a woman on a pedestal, allowing them to make decisions. I'm not going to go back into history and talk. Talk about women's, you know, whatever. Yeah, that's a whole other podcast. But then they put. They bring me on, and I find there's so many instances that harped in on my insecurities. And, like, looking back, I'm like, it feels like someone did this on purpose, like, to create something. Right. Why would they put. They're bringing a woman in. Why would they put them on a rose stage and, like, give opportunity to, like, tear a woman down? I don't know. There's part of me that felt really uncomfy with that. I mean, I could talk a little more about it, but I don't want to bore you guys.
Rachel
But no, we.
Joan
No, it's not boring, because we are. I think we were all shocked in that moment.
Rachel
Yes.
Joan
Also, we were really shocked when we were seeing all the itms with Bentley and how he was, like, playing this chess game with you. Like, this is what I'm going to do today to make her feel like, this about me, and this is what I'm going to do. Like, why would producers allow him to keep doing that? I could see, okay, we need a little shock value. We are making a show. But it went on for so incredibly long. Like, I was like, stop. Somebody stop him.
Ashley Hebert
Yeah. So the. So one thing I will say, just in their defense is, like, it felt like a long time because of the episodes, but honestly, this whole thing went on for less than a week. Like, from.
Joan
Okay.
Ashley Hebert
From, like, the drama to him leaving. It didn't last very long, like, in real world. But still. But still, yes. If I saw somebody kind of, like, being manipulative, I'd be like, bye. Yeah, you know, totally.
Rachel
I do Feel like they did. Or at least on your season, you also had that extra bit of someone coming back and pining for you. And I wish Charity was here because she had a similar experience. Didn't you have Ryan come back? Ryan is.
Ashley Hebert
Oh, is Ryan the blonde? You tell me. Can I look it up?
Rachel
Yes.
Ashley Hebert
Yeah. The. The blonde. Cute guy.
Rachel
Yeah.
Ashley Hebert
Hold on a second. Ashley Hebert. Wait, not actually looking. Park. Right. I'm trying to.
Rachel
Ryan. He came back.
Joan
He did.
Rachel
So you had a lot just going on with your mind. I mean, I think people don't understand when you're in that environment, it is so difficult to know what's real, what's not, how to make a decision. How were you able to navigate that?
Ashley Hebert
I mean, I think that's a good question. I like to think that I'm a good reader of people. Like, I think that I was just born that way, so I feel. Feel like that helped me get to some really good guys in the end. Like, I still feel like the decisions I made, like, I ended up with two really authentic people. To this day. I'll still say they're really authentic. And even all my friends, my life, like, I'm not like, a bullshitter. Like, I'm like, if. If you give me any bad vibe.
Joan
Beep.
Ashley Hebert
Non. Like, I only keep really authentic people in my life. And I think that really helped me going through the process and making my decisions. So.
Joan
Yeah. What was your. What was your favorite part about being league? Was it the travel or the great guys you met or the friends you made in the long run? What was your favorite thing?
Ashley Hebert
You know, I came from a small town, right? So I'm like, small town. 5,000 people in my town. Growing up, I think sometimes you feel like. Like you're forgotten when you're. When you're from, like, a really small area. So I feel like, for me, it was like, wow. I feel like an actual person, right? Like, I. I'm recognizable. So there was part of it that was like, the excitement of feeling not lost in the land of, you know, cows and potato fields. Like, that was very exciting to me. And then just being able, obviously, to travel the world, like, that was amazing. Meet so many great people, have great life experiences. That's what life is about, right? Waking up every day and making the best of your. Of what you have. And to me, that was just. It just added to my life, and it just made it more beautiful. Opened up opportunity for me to just become the person that I was destined to be. Like, I truly feel like being on the bachelorette was part of that for me.
Joan
Came into your own. Yeah. Discovered who you were. My own.
Ashley Hebert
Feel confident in, you know, how I feel, my beliefs and where I'm from. Like, I don't know. I feel like it really helps me navigate who I am.
Joan
It's funny. It's funny the way you describe that. So I came on off of the golden bachelor to the bachelorette, and I said when I was leaving the mansion, when I left, when I self eliminated from the golden bachelor, I said, as you get older, you start to feel. Feel invisible. And it's so funny that you're talking to touching on the same thing. Like, I felt really invisible in my life. I felt like people just didn't notice me. And, like, not that I deserve to be noticed, but I just don't want to be invisible. I don't want to walk into, like, I would walk up to a host to stand and there'd be five other people standing there and they'd help everybody else before me. I just felt like as you get older, they started to ignore you. So the fact that you're saying that you felt that same way just coming from a small town is, like, really interesting that, you know, it's not maybe, you know, just an age thing that I was feeling. Maybe it's just other people in the world are feeling the same way and, like, that we. We need to choose not to accept that, like, we can make a difference. And like you did and I did. But everybody needs to. We did it by coming on a big TV show. But we. No one should accept feeling invisible or not important.
Ashley Hebert
I. I totally agree with you. And, you know, I remember that you said that. And that really hit me when you said that, you know, because I have people in my life that are getting older and, like, they'll make, you know, they'll also, you know, have that same sentiment, like, feeling nobody looks at them, nobody cares about them. Like, when women just, like, it changes. I don't know. I just.
Joan
It's very odd. You don't know what's happening until it's happened. And you're like, when did that happen? Like, it's very weird. So. But I think it's a thing. Like, we accept it and we just have to not accept it. But you don't know that until you do something big and you become less invisible.
Ashley Hebert
Right?
Joan
So, you know, it's funny that we have.
Ashley Hebert
Would you do it again? Would you go on the bachelorette again?
Rachel
Would you?
Ashley Hebert
Oh, yes, I would. Because of what I just told you right. It. It made. It really helps guide you in your path, in your life, and it can open up opportunities, whether it's relationship opportunities, life opportunities, opportunities for you to grow in yourself. Like, I feel like it was such an. Like, take that opportunity, everybody. Just take it.
Joan
Yeah.
Ashley Hebert
Close your eyes and go. Try not to think.
Joan
Yeah, it sounds like it gave you a confidence that you didn't have because you were in this small atmosphere and you experienced a bigger life and you have confidence now in that bigger world.
Ashley Hebert
Yes, absolutely. 100%.

It's amazing too, to hear you talk about how grateful you are for the experience. I think me and Joan completely feel the same way. And I just want to say I'm pushing for Ashley 2.0, but if you were to come back, there's been so much change happening in the franchise. Right. Like we have Taylor, what would you bring back from your season into a new era?
Ashley Hebert
What would I bring back? Well, definitely something I wouldn't bring is insecurity, right. Because I feel like a part of me. Like I was young, inexperienced. So if I were to bring something back, it would just be like woman power. Love that woman power and much more security in myself. Right. I was a young person and I feel like there were so many moments of insecurity that I just don't feel anymore, which is great. New perspective. Just like Taylor, I have kids now, I have a career, so many things going on. And also just a new idea for what I would want in a relationship, right? Like when you're younger, you want a certain thing when you get older and you realize relationships, like the challenges in relationships and marriages and roles in a relationship, roles in marriages. Like, I just feel like coming in, I want something completely different from what I used to have. So. So maybe that's a little too deep or I just fun.
Joan
Oh, no, no, no.
Ashley Hebert
Authenticity, yes.
Joan
Like that's certainly what you would Bring. I, I do wonder, though, like, how do you feel about the direction Bachelor Nation has taken by bringing, giving this lead to somebody who's not, like, innocent and not, like, perfect? Like, we all tried to be not part of the franchise and not part of it. Never had been on the, on a Bachelor season before. Like, she's just something really new and fresh and very, very different. But it's certainly very. It strays a really far from what we've ever done before. What do you think about that?
Ashley Hebert
I mean, I, first off, I'm surprised that they did bring her in because I thought it was always going to stay in the family. But I also think sometimes you could always shake things up. Right? You got to shake things up, try new things and see what sticks. And I also think, listen, I'm all about. Everyone makes mistakes. We learn as we go. But I think everybody deserves a second chance. Right? Like, yeah, we have all. If we all reflect back in our lives, we can pick something out. I shouldn't have done that.
Joan
Oh, of course.
Ashley Hebert
I'm ashamed of this. We all have something, right? So hers was just maybe televised. Maybe everybody knows about it. And so I think it's a, I think it's a good. I think it's a good thing to bring her back, right? Give someone a second chance. No one's perfect. I, I, I'm, I'm excited about it.
Joan
Yeah. Do you think that at all that, like, the fact that is, she is kind of flawed like we all are, but we don't, like, have it out there in the public eye. She's kind of flawed. So do you think maybe the guys will allow us to see their flaws and maybe be really more real?
Ashley Hebert
Yeah, I mean, I think that sometimes when we see a Bachelor, we think, oh, my gosh, it's that perfect little angel, right? So pretty every day. I think it's good to have someone flawed so then you can feel more, more, first off, comfortable. When you know someone's flaws, I feel like you're immediately closer to them. Right. Like, you know a part that other people don't know. And I think that could even bring people closer. And you know what? Everybody on that show has done something that they like. We're talking about regret. And I think that it's okay to not be perfect. And I think that's a great. I think that's a great message. Right. So that the guys can know, listen, no one's perfect. We've all done things, and I think it's setting a great example for honesty in Relationships.
Joan
Yeah. I always tell my kids that I'm like, people like the flawed you way better than the perfect you. Perfect you is really intimidating. Be the flawed person that you are and, like, people will like you a lot better.
Ashley Hebert
100%.
Rachel
Totally. I want to also ask because we talked about. Back when we were, like, discussing the roast, you had mentioned that one of your insecurities was, like, you know, having gone through the Bachelorette and not being chosen, I had something so similar, and I think it's been a pattern for Bachelor Nation to pick someone from the previous season. I think when I went into the Bachelorette, it was so nice that I could look at the men and be like, I know where, like, you're coming from. I feel the same way. When you sent them home, especially, like, later, you knew how, like, bad it felt. Taylor's not going to have that. How do you think that's going to affect the way she sends men home who she chooses?
Ashley Hebert
Yeah, that's true. Because when you're going in, you already have experience, experience doing it, so you feel, like, a little more empathy. I think she has natural built in empathy in her heart. That's what I feel when I met her. So I actually think, even though she doesn't have the experience, I think that she still will manage it properly just because of her innate empathy. That's what I think. I mean, I. I met her for a short period of time, but from my read on her is like, she has a heart, so.
Joan
Yeah, I agree with you. I feel like she's going to be really hard on him, and she's also going to be really empathetic. Like, she's going to expect a lot from them, but she's going to really, like, like, like you said, she has a big heart.
Ashley Hebert
Yeah, I think so. I don't think she'll have any problems.
Joan
Yeah.
Rachel
Ashley. Okay, Well, I was gonna say, what's some life updates? Give us the tea. Tell us everything. For the viewers, for everyone that doesn't know you have two beautiful children, tell us all about them for the best.
Ashley Hebert
So I have two kids, Ford and Essie. Ford's 11. He's a handful. He's like, so cares. He's just like jp. He is really jp. Super charismatic. Sorry, jp. He and I are friends, so I say this. He's a handful. Just like that. And my daughter, he plays basketball, baseball. He's a very active kid. Very. I don't know.
Joan
He's.
Ashley Hebert
Yeah, he's a handful. And then my daughter Essie is. She's really kind of like me, kind of more easy going, I would say, follows the rules. Rule follower. Emotionally, very intelligent for someone that young. She's nine years old and she can read people like that. Just, she was born with. I think she's becoming a really great soccer player. And honestly, it's like, this is what my life is. It's just work, waking up, making them, you know, healthy breakfast, getting everybody a great start to the day, trying to inspire them to do good things. School and then all the activities. Guys, we got the base. Basketball, soccer, Soccer, rec team. We got to go to Orlando this weekend. Literally, my life is running around and just trying to optimize their life, which makes me so happy, because that's.
Joan
Yeah. I mean, cherish those days. I loved. I have four kids. I love. That's the happiest time in my life. Look back at it, it's like a little bit of a blur. When it was happening, I was like, wow, I got so much to do. How am I going to get all this done? But I look back and I'm like, I was so happy. Yes, they're great days.
Ashley Hebert
They read a lot, they play sports, they're very active, they eat healthy. For the most part, everything is like, honestly perfect.
Rachel
What a beautiful.
Joan
Sounds like season.
Sponsor Voice (e.g., TurboTax or Ollie)
I know.
Joan
Well, it sounds like it's all kind of revolving around your kids.
Rachel
Oh, wait. Yeah, Joan. And then I want to ask, do the moms at soccer practice ever fangirl, do they recognize you?
Ashley Hebert
So here's the beauty about Miami is not a lot of people know who we are.
Rachel
Really? If my mother saw you, game over.
Joan
Really?
Ashley Hebert
There's no way.
Rachel
Moms don't recognize.
Ashley Hebert
They have no idea.
Rachel
And you look exactly the same.
Ashley Hebert
Oh, I don't.
Joan
You really do. You haven't changed, Charlie.
Ashley Hebert
At all.
Joan
That is so true.
Ashley Hebert
You guys are so sweet. Yeah, they don't know. Miami's like. It's a different beast down here. Like, it's not. If I would. If I were to go to la, New York, like any of the major cities, of course they know us, but here we're kind of incognito, which is really nice.
Joan
Yeah, that is true. I mean, Rachel, you're in. In la, so probably everybody recognizes you. I get recognized in la, I get recognized in New York, and I get recognized in my own hometown. But, like, in general, like, I'm here in Pentagon and no one has. And, like, I think, like, three people have asked to take pictures of me. So it's like, you're definitely in certain places. You're Right. You get recognized a lot more. But it sounds like your. Your kind of world revolves around your kids. Do you have anything like you oriented, like, anything that's great happening in your life?
Ashley Hebert
That's a good question. So I'm a pediatric dentist, so I have my own pediatric dental office. And it's booming, it's growing. We're four and a half years old. I put all of my time into that.
Rachel
Congratulations.
Ashley Hebert
Thank you.
Joan
Successful.
Ashley Hebert
I feel like I'm ready to retire soon, though.
Sponsor Voice (e.g., TurboTax or Ollie)
But.
Ashley Hebert
Yes, for almost 15 years. So it's a long time.
Joan
Wow. Yeah.
Ashley Hebert
So a lot of my life revolves around, you know, my work, my patience, my staff, my kids, my kids, activities, things that I enjoy doing. I really love to travel. You know, whenever I have the opportunity, I'll definitely do that. And then I love to dance. So I do a dance class once a week, just for fun. Nothing crazy. Just, like, good exercise. And then I hang out with my girls, you know, every. We go to girlfriends. Like, that's what my life is about. Just authentic, doing the best that I can to raise my kids in a great environment and give them opportunities for success and kind of like a launching pad for, you know, doing great things.
Joan
Sounds like you have a full life.
Rachel
I know. I was gonna say such a beautiful life, and you're just such a beautiful person. And I think I can speak for all of us that we're so happy for you.
Joan
That is true. You know, you were talking about traveling a little bit. How was your big family vacation with JP this past summer? And do you have any advice you would give somebody that is going through, like, a co parenting journey and like, what is, like, the smartest thing you do? What can you do to make co parenting so good like you guys are doing?
Ashley Hebert
I'm not good at a lot of things, but I'm really good at the co parenting thing. We both are very good at the co parenting thing. And if anybody needs any advice, contact me personally. But what I.
Joan
That's nice of you.
Ashley Hebert
No, it's true because. Because I care about kids. And I see so many kids suffering from, you know, hard to. And it breaks my heart. We see it here in Miami all the time. But what I can tell you, you only need to know one thing. When you're going through a divorce and it sounds so easy, you're gonna say, ashley, everybody knows that. But when you're making decisions, all you have to do is remember this one thing. Always do what's best for the kids. If you want to say something negative about Your ex in front of your kids.
Joan
Stop.
Ashley Hebert
Always do what's best for the kids. Is this the best for the kids? No, it's not. That's absolutely not the best for the. For the kids. Right. So you don't do it. So whenever you're in a situation where you feel like you want to do something, always ask yourself, what is the best thing for my kids? You want to have your kids? Certainly do. You want to have them full time, but is that the best for the kids? Right. Depending on the situation, most kids benefit from a 50. 50?
Joan
Yeah. Both parents. Oh, no.
Ashley Hebert
So you want that full custody, but ask yourself what is best for the kids? And I really think that's all you need when you go through a divorce.
Joan
Well, if you have kids, you don't have kids. You make your. It's a different world. Totally different. Right, right, right. I know, but that's about the co parenting.
Ashley Hebert
Yeah. One thing, jp, I are really, really good as we both always put the kids first, no matter how we feel about anything. So that's really good.
Joan
Yeah.
Ashley Hebert
Yeah. But divorce is challenging. So multilayered and complex, and it can affect kids in so many ways, and it breaks my heart, and I'm so happy that my kids have been able to be for other kids in their community. And, you know, we. We got divorced a long time ago. Most kids are. Their parents are going through divorces now, so I feel like knowing that Ford and Essie have gone through it. Some kids have a child to rely on and. And to feel like they're not. I think, you know, I'm grateful that they've been very mature in that. In the whole process and have really handled it with such grace for such young kids.
Joan
Yeah. Well, I mean, that's thanks to you and your great parenting, because not everybody has the chance to do that and that they still feel secure and that their world is not falling apart. That they have two parents who still love them even though they live in different houses is really all it is. Yeah. Yeah.
Rachel
I wanted to thank you.
Joan
Yeah.
Rachel
For sharing, because I'm sure there's so many people that go through this, and you and JP Just handle it so fantastically. So I just wanted to give you.
Ashley Hebert
Your flowers, being you're the best.
Joan
Thank you so much for joining us today. This was such a treat, and hopefully we can do it again. And this time. Next time, I know Charity will be here. It won't be me, so I'm just gonna give a big kiss to you. And I'm so privileged that I got to be the one here today.
Ashley Hebert
Oh, yes.
Rachel
Thank you so much, Ashley.
Ashley Hebert
Rach, let's do another one.
Rachel
Charity, no, we need Charity will not let this one go. You'll have to come back soon because she is so jealous. So go grab your kids. Thank you, everyone, for listening. Thank you so much, Ashley. Make sure you, like, subscribe and stay tuned for more interviews with more iconic bachelorettes like Ashley. Thank you all.

Thank you.

Thank you, thank you.

Here's the truth no one in pet food wants to say out loud. If it isn't just fresh from just food for dogs, it isn't fresh, period. Because a lot of fresh dog foods in those cute little packages, they're not 100% human grade, they're not backed by real science, and they're definitely not something you could eat unless you enjoy mystery meat puree with a side of marketing spin. Just fresh is different. It's real beef, chicken, sweet potatoes, green beans. Actual food you recognize. It's cooked daily in real kitchens. Vets recommend it. Dogs lose their minds for it. And honestly, if your dog could talk, they'd ask you why you ever fed them anything else. New Year, Year, New you. But what about your dog's fresh start? Make the switch. Honestly, Honestly, Honestly, no one wants to think about hiv, but there are things that everyone can do to help prevent it. Things like prep. PREP stands for Pre Exposure Prophylaxis, and it means routinely taking prescription medicine before you're exposed to HIV to help reduce your chances of getting it. Prep can be about 99% effective when taken as prescribed. It doesn't protect against other STIs, though, so be sure to use condoms and other healthy sex practices. Ask a healthcare provider about all your prevention Options and visit findoutaboutprep.com to learn more.

“I was really excited, honestly...you get a glimpse of what you think they're like, and then when you meet them in person, there’s just so much more to each person than what you see...It felt to me...like we were going to go on vacation—a girls trip.” (Ashley, 05:01)
Timestamps: 09:31–14:06, 23:00–23:40, 39:08–43:37

Timestamps: 14:10–16:52
“Once I knew I wanted to leave with J.P., I wrote him a little journal every day...if you're really transparent and open and honest while you're going through that process and you write it down, I think it just makes things so much easier.” (Ashley, 15:25)
Timestamps: 44:16–51:47
“When you're making decisions, all you have to do is remember this one thing. Always do what's best for the kids...Is this the best for the kids? No, it's not. That's absolutely not the best...So you don't do it.” (Ashley, 49:21)
“There’s so much more to each person than what you see...it was almost like this escape from reality.” (05:01)
“I do not like guys that cannot put a screw in a wall...you got to know how to build some shit.” (Ashley, 12:18)

“I’m surprised...but sometimes you gotta shake things up...everyone makes mistakes, we learn as we go...everybody deserves a second chance.” (Ashley, 41:03)
