Interviewer / Podcast Host
And today we have the most special guest. Honestly, I can't even believe I'm, like, doing this interview. You guys don't understand. He has been styling the Bachelor from the beginning. Everyone, welcome our fairy godfather, Carrie. No, literally, this is like a dream come true. And, like, you know how much we love you.
Carrie (Stylist)
Like, you know, and you know. You know how you all mean to me. You know, I don't have to even pretend this is coming so pure from my heart, the love that I have for each one of you. And I know you all think that I love the other one better. You don't understand.
Charity
But maybe Rachel just, like, a little
Interviewer / Podcast Host
bit, Just a little bit more.
Carrie (Stylist)
Rachel. Well, Rachel's something special.
Charity
We love her.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I mean, we love her, too. So I'm like. I get it.
Charity
You and Rachel were like our dream guests when they asked us, who would you want to sit down with?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No.
Carrie (Stylist)
Could you imagine Rachel and I?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, honestly, we did say. We did tell her that we were going to do one with you, and she was going to say I wanted. She said she wanted to come, but it's okay. We doing this in person.
Carrie (Stylist)
But this is good.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, this is.
Carrie (Stylist)
This is perfect fact that I'm in person with the two of you. This is why I don't do podcasts.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I know, but I'm like, I'm honored. Honored.
Carrie (Stylist)
Thank you for inviting me.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Of course.
Carrie (Stylist)
Anytime I come out at the end.
Charity
Oh, no, you're going to be perfect.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
It'll be great. No, this is going to be, like, the most talked about episode because I feel like everybody wants to know the behind the scenes of, like, our looks, our fashion. Like, every Bachelorette obviously has had different styles, and, like, you are, like, the visionary behind that, but obviously you have to deal with us beforehand getting there. So there's a lot. There's a lot that goes into that. So honestly, take us to the. Back to the very beginning. Carrie, how did you even get involved with the Bachelor franchise?
Carrie (Stylist)
I was only doing celebrity stylists. I was doing Sarah Jessica during Sex and the City. I had Julie Louis Dreyfus during all of the years of Seinfeld. And then I went on to Lisa Kudrow when she was doing Friends. So I was just kind of busy in that world. Not Ever doing them for on the show. I never wanted to be on a costume show. I mean, I never wanted a costume, but dressing them for the red carpet and anything that they went to any parties where if they were traveling someplace, it was a blast. And then I met Joan Rivers, and that completely changed my life. Joan and Melissa invited me to be on their show, and, like, I don't know what I got the nerve up to do it, because she was, like, the one person we all feared. There's not a stylist around that will not tell you that. Their greatest fear was what happened on Monday when Joan Rivers was on Fashion, Please. And so the idea that I was going to be meeting with her, and then at the end of the show, she's like, why aren't you doing Melissa? And I was like, none of you ever called. And three days later, here we go. It was a phone call.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, my God.
Carrie (Stylist)
And now 25 years later with her, too.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Wow.
Carrie (Stylist)
I think. Yeah. Her kid wasn't even born, and Cooper's already 25.
Charity
Oh, my goodness.
Carrie (Stylist)
It's amazing how old I am.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, so you don't look like it. I'm like, he's aging backwards.
Charity
It literally looks fabulous.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yes. I'm going through puberty. My hair is starting to curl again.
Charity
Oh, my gosh. Okay, so tell us how you got involved with the Bachelor.
Carrie (Stylist)
So I just got this phone call one day from Brooke Carson, who was the head of Warner Brothers for this, and this was her baby. She had introduced it, and she was the main person from Warner Brothers. And she said, I don't even know if you'd be interested in doing it, but would you ever think about it? I'm like, yeah, I guess. Why not? And so the next day, went on an interview, and they asked me these questions, and I. I was like, what? Of course I can pack somebody for a week, right? I mean, I'm sending people down a red carpet. I mean, for God's sake. Doing six. I think at that point, they wanted me to do six dresses. I think it was six rows. And I was like, yeah, I think I can do that.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I can handle this.
Carrie (Stylist)
So they hired me. Never thought anything of it. Just thought that because it was my first job interview. I'd never gone on a real job interview here since living in la. And I guess I never went on a job interview in Chicago either.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Wow.
Carrie (Stylist)
I opened my own store at 19. So I guess this was my first real job interview. And I thought, okay, you ask questions that you answer and they hire you, and, like, Four years later, the executive producer came to me one day, and she's like, you know. You know I love you. And I'm like, yeah. She's like, take this wrong way, but didn't you wonder, like, why we hired you right away? I thought, I guess now I do.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Charity
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
Because you were such a. You were such an asshole about how you were answering. She's like, and we just knew. And I thought I was being an asshole. Like, what?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, he's probably just, like, so direct.
Charity
You're like, what are we doing?
Carrie (Stylist)
I mean, like, what is the big deal about putting something in a gown?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
He's like, this is nothing.
Charity
He goes. And literally.
Carrie (Stylist)
So I. I guess I need to be a little more understated when I go on job interviews if it already happens again. Now I'm 90 and so going on my next job interview, probably soon.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, I mean, you're still here decades later. So that's like an insane run.
Carrie (Stylist)
Like, do you understand how, like, it's not over yet.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
It's not.
Charity
It's far from.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, it's not.
Carrie (Stylist)
I. That. Me too.
Charity
Did you ever think from the first season that you would still be here going to.
Carrie (Stylist)
No.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No. You thought it was, like, just gonna be like a. Oh, I'm just doing this temporarily.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah. I never thought I was ever going to last at anything. I always thought I was a little, like, an imposter. I never understood what people kept thinking was so great about what I was doing. I was picking the most expensive, beautiful dresses. You're the best. I mean, it's not like I was making them. I was just picking him. And I didn't have the last say. You guys always did.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
So, I mean, the things that were picked were picked by all of you.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I think people don't know that we're
Charity
gonna have to ham. Yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I think people really assume that. It's like, oh, like, Carrie picks out all these outfits, and he doesn't know the bachelorettes. And it's like, no. Like, for me, you know, I came in hot. I said, don't put me in that.
Carrie (Stylist)
Exactly.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Don't put me in it. I don't want it.
Carrie (Stylist)
I won't wear this. I won't wear that. Don't do this.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Right.
Carrie (Stylist)
And I was like, okay, knock your socks off. Pull.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
And as she was pulling, I was kind of following and pulling my own things. Things I thought maybe she missed.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah. And that's the thing, is that that's what he's good at. He's good at, like, okay, Sometimes we get a little too far off the trail. He'll. He'll pull us back in, but he still lets us have, like, creative freedom in that. Which I. For me, I appreciate it, because I'm, like, the last thing I can do is not feel good on a day or do anything and be, like, looking crazy.
Carrie (Stylist)
That's the whole point.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Hello.
Carrie (Stylist)
Why would I push my clothes onto you when I. Now, if I think you're making a mistake, you know, I'll keep you in that mirror looking, going, okay, do you like it better like this, or do you like it better like that? You know, do you want me to try and do that? Yep, yep, yep. And then finally you'll be like, do you want me to change the dress?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yep, yep, yep.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah, I don't think you look that good.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're very honest, though.
Amazon Health AI / Bowen Yang
Yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, you are.
Carrie (Stylist)
But I. I at least let you pick.
Charity
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
I'm not the one going on a date. I'm not the one going on tv. That's why I've never done that. I never wanted to be in front of the tv. I. I love being the puppet behind because it's just me kind of moving around and just. I'm not the puppet master yet. I'm just the puppet. That just kind of pushes you a little.
Charity
I think people don't understand, though. It's so much more than styling. Our time with you and with Gina is so important to the journey. And I feel like having you just as an ear or just telling you how the date went or telling you how you're feeling. You never have an input. You just listen. And it is pivotal to, like, everyone's journey. And all the bachelorettes say that, which is wonderful.
Carrie (Stylist)
This one, I will take credit.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yes.
Carrie (Stylist)
I've heard this from all of you, so I know not to doubt it. But that's just out of true love. I mean, because the beauty is. The wardrobe room is a safe place. And I've told every executive producer, do not come in. Do not ask me what we talk about. Right. I'll never share. They will never go and repeat anything we talk about, which is.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I think it's like. And it's so important because it's like, obviously, everyone knows that we don't have. Like, we have the producers, and that's. And we have ourselves. And so it's like you guys, and you specifically carry. It's like you're coming from, like, obviously, like, at that point in our journey, you're, like, beyond, like a friend. You're like, you are our fairy godfather. So it's like, literally, it's beyond that, but it's like, you also come from a place of just, like. Like, you don't have these biases. Like, you know what I mean? It's like, the producers, obviously, like, we love them, but, like, you know, they have.
Rachel Lindsay
They're making a show.
Dietz and Watson Advertiser
Yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
They have a show to do. And it's like, we can't call our moms. And we do, but, like, you know, it's not as frequent as we would. Like, we can't text our girlfriend. So it's like, you become that for us. And it's like, oh, my gosh. I'm telling you this in confidence. I need someone who's going to be so real with me in this moment. And it's like, you don't hold back. I remember, like, literally, like, when we were in Fiji, I was like, I. I need you, Carrie. Please help me, like, right now, like, I need a moment. And it was just like, L. Just me and him, like, ear to ear. Like, you never, never push us away.
Carrie (Stylist)
And Gina, too. I mean, I talk to Gina in the makeup. I. I get. It's harder for her because she's doing your lips. She's doing things to you.
Reef Advertiser
Right.
Carrie (Stylist)
She's. But you guys share a lot. By the time you get to me, in fairness, I've already seen you physically naked and emotionally naked, genuinely. So there's nothing to hide from me.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Right.
Carrie (Stylist)
And I am just there to listen. Will I tell you when you're wrong?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yes.
Carrie (Stylist)
Sure. Yeah. If I think you're going off the deep end, you bet. I'm going to drag you back up because I know how much pressure there is. I've been on this long enough to see what every season happens. And I know, like, at the time, it's going to happen. I know before hometowns. I know the difference between when it's a bachelor versus a Bachelorette. You guys fall in love the first night. I don't know how, but I have taken this test with almost every one of you. Give me your five top people on the first night. Three of them always make it to the last two episodes.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
He's not wrong.
Charity
He's not wrong.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
He's not wrong at all, which is crazy.
Carrie (Stylist)
I don't know if there's a smell. I don't know if there's a look. Because there's just something, though, that you guys know. The second that guy gets out of the car, there's something that just. Boom. And I. I've never seen it like I've it's rare. I think maybe one person did not have one of their top five in the beginning at the end.
Dietz and Watson Advertiser

The Crushback heel lets you wear it your way. Just kick it on when you're rushing out the door, flip it up when the day calls for a little bit more stability. It's lightweight, breathable and quietly doing the most, which I love, and the soft quilted insole. That part your feet will thank you for later. I have a question. How many leads have told their producers? I'm not Going to do something until I talk to Carrie.
Carrie (Stylist)
I would think that would be more producers, but I think that would be producer question. I don't know. I just know that we do talk a lot.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
I know that there's. I know that they allow us a little extra time with you guys because all it takes is a text from me saying, leave me alone for a minute.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Correct. Literally, me. I'm like, I'm telling everyone to please exit this room.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Charity
You were just so meaningful on the journey, and I think especially getting together with all the bachelorettes and we'll talk about that.
Carrie (Stylist)
But that wasn't my.
Charity
Everyone's story of deciding who they wanted with you the last day or the last second. And I just really want to hammer this to viewers about how important you are. This franchise would crumble without you.
Carrie (Stylist)
Please.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, it would.
Charity
And I'm willing to stand on that
Interviewer / Podcast Host
one thought from a lead perspective. Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
Oh, my God. I bow to you guys.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
You are like our anchor. Like, Truly.
Carrie (Stylist)
I can't tell you how much that means to me. You guys are truly making my heart.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
It's everything. You know that. Carrie.
Charity
Truly, should we get into some wardrobes? I think so. Questions?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Okay. Yeah. Because I'm like, we need to hear some fashion. Okay.
Carrie (Stylist)
Okay.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
In your opinion, what are the three most iconic gowns in Bachelor Nation history?
Carrie (Stylist)
That's like asking me who's my favorite child?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, the gowns.
Charity
I know.
Carrie (Stylist)
Okay. So not rating him. I would say, obviously, JoJo's blue dress was iconic.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yes.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yes. I mean, that was. That was everywhere. It was. There was, I think, one of the dresses, because at that point, I didn't have Instagram yet, but there is a photo of us with. I'm trying to think who. Whose dress it was. I can't remember. The designer Emily Maynard's finale dress. I have a picture of her with. Here we are in phenomenal. And we're at the top of stairs. They have a house that's this big for her. And she's got black socks up to here because it's freezing. And she's lifting her dress because there's all these stairs that she's got to walk. And that's the photo I captured. And that will be locked in my head forever.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
The black socks.
Carrie (Stylist)
Black socks. She looked like a bubby just walking up the stairs. And then when she let down this dress, I was like, wow.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
I don't think people made a big deal about it because, you know, Instagram had just.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Just, like, got it started. Yeah. Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
And And I was definitely not near being there.
Charity
Carrie.
Rachel Lindsay
It was John.
Charity
John Ferris Couture.
Carrie (Stylist)
Oh, that's right. And so it was a brand new line.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Okay.
Carrie (Stylist)
That I never thought we would be able to get.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, wow.
Carrie (Stylist)
In the beginning, Bachelor was. People were willing to kind of work with us, but, yeah, I mean, in the beginning also, they were very much into doing trades. And so we had to shop out of one store and one store only until finally, after a couple of seasons, I started showing them. If you just let me do some stuff, it won't cost a lot, but I can reach out to people. I think we've made enough of an impact now where people will give me things.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, they want to.
Reef Advertiser
They want.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah, they want to see it. So it was, you know, at that point, it was like, And. But still shocked. I was always still shocked by who would be willing. And this. This man had never given a dress to anybody for tv.
Charity
And it was fantastic.
Carrie (Stylist)
Oh, my God. Just unbelievable. The colors, and I don't think even the camera did it justice. I think you just had to see it in person.
Charity
We need to pull up a picture on screen.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I almost want to see it now.
Rachel Lindsay
I have a question.
Charity
Was there a look that you loved at the time, but looking back, you were like, I don't really like it anymore.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah, several.
Charity
Several.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Honestly. Very fair.
Carrie (Stylist)
Those are the easy ones.
Charity
And I was like, oh, that didn't
Carrie (Stylist)
quite work on camera or a mistake happens. Like. Like Joan Golden. Joan, who I love. And this dress, when she was standing in my house, it was the most perfect gown. It had a capelet, and it was beyond stunning. What I didn't account for was when she sat down. And you know how many times I make you guys. Let me see when you're sitting. Let me see when you're standing. When you stand up, is it gonna. You're gonna have to keep fussing with it. Don't. Like I'm doing right now. I. You know, that's what I don't want people doing all night long. And you can tell when somebody's not comfortable in their dress because it's like your body language. I usually try and make them do everything. Joan, for some reason, we both knew that this was the dress. Put a pin on the top. We were being rushed that night, so the pin didn't go exactly where it was supposed to go. But that dress is when she sat down. Somehow, from the time that I pinned it and now I pinned her the whole season, there was no reason for why that dress did not come out the same way every other dress did. It was so tight that. Trying to get it up.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, no.
Carrie (Stylist)
But she was such a good sport. She's like, just. Just do it. I don't care. I don't care if I can't breathe. I don't care. Anything. And then as soon as she sat down, that dress started. Her boobs were already here. And then before the end of the show, her boobs were, like, up here.
Charity
Oh, my gosh.
Carrie (Stylist)
I just wanted to cry with her.
Charity
You're watching from the camera.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
That's not what we said.
Carrie (Stylist)
I'm dying here, and I'm so sorry. She saw photos of it, and she loved it.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Okay, then that's. Listen.
Carrie (Stylist)
She didn't care. But that. Yes. I have made many mistakes. You know, there's certain things that look gorgeous in person, and then all of a sudden, you see it on camera and the reverse has happened to her. I'm, like, kind of boring, you know, in my living room. It's not really made for camera light.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Right.
Carrie (Stylist)
You would think after this many years, maybe I would have bought one light that would. That would show me, like. Or being friends with the lighting department for 24 years, just to say, hey, guys, is there something temporary that I can hang up in here when we're doing fittings so even if we can take a photo, we can see what the photo looks like?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
That's like it. They shouldn't, but I feel like the
Charity
lighting in your apartment is so soft, so I can tramp things for hours because I don't, like, get tired of seeing.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Charity
If I'm under a light, I'm like, okay, I'm done. It's very moody.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
So, like, it's. It's important.
Carrie (Stylist)
It's just like me. It gets a little moody. That's why we take so many breaks. That's why. Wow. I don't know if there's new rules anymore about us even being allowed to drink when we're doing this.
Charity
There better not be.
Carrie (Stylist)
Exactly.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Exactly. It's part of the experience.
Reef Advertiser
Hello.

Should we talk about it? Like, I mean, going through all the dresses in your apartment was my favorite part of being a lead. And how long does it take you to get everything in that apartment for that first fitting?
Carrie (Stylist)
That first fitting is insane because we have at least 45 to 50 racks. And my apartment, you know, maybe you can get 25 to 30, which is a lot. I mean, you know how crowded that is.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
But we have this Woman named Dawn, who works for me, love her and is the best. And so I'm fortunate to have an elevator in my building, and my apartment has three floors, so we were able to line clothes up down on Dawn's floor and bring it up. So while we're already moving towards racks later on, dawn is sneaking in and rolling out racks that we've already gone through and bringing new racks in. And then we turn around and just start over again as though you're looking at the things you already looked at. That's why I think each one of you has said, haven't I been over here already? I'm like, yeah, just keep looking.
Amazon Health AI / Bowen Yang
We're good.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
We're like, yeah.
Charity
Not only do you have the rose ceremony dresses, you have each climate. So I know for my season, you would call, we had one warm climate and then we had a hot one. Or. Yeah.
Rachel Lindsay
Or hot and cold.
Charity
Sorry.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, yeah.
Charity
And we called it.
Rachel Lindsay
What is it?
Charity
Hawaii and Alaska.
Trashee Advertiser
Yes.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
He would never tell us where we're
Charity
going, but he would go like this for Hawaii. And I'd be like, yes.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
He's like, this one's, you're gonna be cold. You're gonna need a bundle up. Let's do some, like, layers. And I'm like, where am I going? I'm like, tell me right now.
Carrie (Stylist)
Okay. It's got. Think. Tell me where we'd be. It's got cobblestones. Yes.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
He loved the cobblestones. I'm like, well, I can't walk in these hills.
Carrie (Stylist)
Well, that was the whole point. Be careful with shoes. You're picking.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yep.
Carrie (Stylist)
So make sure your dress is going to be where, you know, I might need to do a different shoe. So picture cobblestone. The temperature is gonna be gorgeous all day long, but then really chilly at night. It's, you know, where are we? And each one of you would give me a place. A few of you actually hit the place, and I could see the producer's face that would be sitting there going, ah. Like, stop saying that. Pick another place. And I'm like, she has no idea. Just shut up.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Just shut up.
Charity
Let me show. She's the manager, right?
Carrie (Stylist)
And then I warn everybody at the show. She thinks we're going to Miami.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, great.
Carrie (Stylist)
And we'd be going.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
It was me because I was like, I definitely guess in completely wrong My entire season. Could not guess Fiji at all. Definitely did not.
Carrie (Stylist)
Okay. You know, it's got beautiful blues, blue oceans, and the weather is going to be temperate and gorgeous and beautiful every day.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
That's all you guys gave me. I was like, oh, we're going to like Hawaii.
Carrie (Stylist)
But that's what was so perfect about it. You knew you were going to Hawaii. Guess what it was. The clothes that you picked for were really, really good.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
It was insane.
Carrie (Stylist)
Best part of my season.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, truly, it was the best time. Like that was those outfits.

How much planning goes into a season when you're going from the rose ceremony dresses to the daily outfits. How much work is that behind the scenes?
Carrie (Stylist)
You know, I usually start, like, a month, month and a half earlier and start trying to see now that there's so many rules about how fast we. We have to return things and things we have to, like, plan out what day are you guys actually coming. But I'll have things in my baskets for weeks at a time, like, leading up.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
And, you know, and it just. Because I, too, am still trying to figure out, because we've been known on the Bachelor that we've changed things very quickly.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yes, we do.
Carrie (Stylist)
You think you're going to someplace hot, and you end up being in someplace cold. You think that you're going someplace out of the country, and next thing you know, you're flying to Denver or, you know, something silly like that. Something happens, and. Or there's also once in a while, you think you're going to be doing a boy and the girl comes in, or. Or you think you're doing one girl, and in the middle, somebody whispers to you, I need to talk to you privately. Nobody can know other than you. Not Gina, not your assistant. But they might be changing. Somebody might be interested in getting an engagement right away, and we might be bringing somebody new in, but nobody knows, and we don't even know.
Charity
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
And that was. That was a fun experience.
Ebglis Medication Narrator
Yeah.
Charity
And even for mine, they didn't tell you who it would be. And it was between three of us at the time, and Carrie said he was shopping for some things for Gabby, some things for me, and we didn't know.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, for her season.
Carrie (Stylist)
Her season.
Charity
But we were lasting.
Carrie (Stylist)
That was the craziest.
Charity
Oh, wow.
Carrie (Stylist)
The craziest. And then to be told, oh, they're both gonna be doing it.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I bet you were like, holy.
Charity
And we were completely different heights, different sizes. Like, he had many. So, so many racks of clothes, but we had so much fun, especially the
Interviewer / Podcast Host
days we got to be three that season. I mean, obviously, we already know how talented Carrie is, but it's like doing two bachelorettes at the same time.
Carrie (Stylist)
At the same time.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Completely different styles, obviously. Like, very different.
Carrie (Stylist)
Like, yeah, a lot of suitcases. Yeah, there were a lot of suitcases. And then, of course, princess here, she needed a coat and dress that would not fit into a suitcase. We almost had to do two suitcases for it. Finally, they were able to fit for a coat and the dress. And a dress that I kept saying to her from the very beginning, there's nowhere for you to wear it. We figured out that there's not.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
What was the dress?
Charity
I got to wear it. Wait, which dress? Tell me.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Okay.
Charity
There was this black coat, and I think the coat was what I wanted. And it was almost like a cape and it was really long and we loved it. And it was for someplace cold and cold. And after the rose ceremony where me and Gabby just had the worst time on the journey, I was like, I want to wear this outfit. Find a place for me to wear it. And the producers went out and found a location I could wear it in.
Carrie (Stylist)
Wait, we went to Paris? The diva's not telling you we went to Paris?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah. I'm like, why do you keep leaving out? You know, that's like my favorite part of the all season.
Carrie (Stylist)
Exactly.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Monsieur's Paris.
Charity
I thought it was Paris, but they. The night location was somewhere different. And then they switched it to a cathedral so I could wear this.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
But a cathedral in Paris?
Charity
Yes.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Insane in Paris. Insane.
Carrie (Stylist)
Gabby's was at the Eiffel Tower. How they got that overnight? Because mind you, this all changed overnight. The only good thing was.
Reef Advertiser
So you did.
Carrie (Stylist)
God. Nobody knew.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh my God.
Dietz and Watson Advertiser
They had to make a difference.
Charity
We were both Hispanic. Hysterical after that night.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah, it was a horrifying night. And they went deservingly and said, what can we do? And she's like, I want to wear this dress.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
That's all I wanted.
Carrie (Stylist)
And so she, I, Gabby and one producer jumped on a plane the next morning. I don't. Gina came and met us. But Gina wasn't with us for some reason. I don't know if she was stay. If she stayed back to do something or we were doing a special, but it was. And all of a sudden she and I are in Paris and I know
Charity
she's wearing that dress like with its own suitcase.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No.
Charity
Carrie made it happen.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No.
Carrie (Stylist)
And I kept thinking to myself, why are you carrying a suitcase with a dress that she's never gonna wear? Yeah, but she made me promise that I'm gonna once. And you know me, once I promised. I don't break a promise.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, he keeps it. Not that he keeps I promise.
Carrie (Stylist)
The beauty is I keep secrets because I can't remember anything to tell me anyhow. So people think I'm so great.
Charity
But you always like, what makes. Remember I told you.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah. Tell me the story again. At least give me the stuff that
Interviewer / Podcast Host
actually makes so much sense for you. Carrie, that. That's it. That's the. That's the trick.
Carrie (Stylist)
When you asked me who it was, I can't remember. People think I'm lying.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Ice creaming. Okay, wait. I want to know. Like, out of all the bachelorettes, like, we talked about this kind of at the beginning of, like, some being more opinionated and some not. Like, who do you think was the most? Like, like, they knew. They knew their style. And, like, versus, like, you really had to, like, kind of help.
Carrie (Stylist)
You know what? I will say Rachel had a style that I had to get to learn to know.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Okay.
Carrie (Stylist)
Rachel Lindsay, you came in with the style.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Sure.
Carrie (Stylist)
Did you. That. You were very specific. But what I loved about you was that as you got more comfortable, your whole style completely changed. Also, you never became, like, bachelorette Dolly. You never became the Barbie doll. But you also never. You didn't stick to, like, one thing.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah, yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
You allowed us to play.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I was willing to try.
Carrie (Stylist)
And all of a sudden, it was like this whole new. You came out. And it was period, hello. That's how I got period. She would look at herself and go, period hello. That's.
Charity
It was charity. Picky on the racks. Like, y' all get that?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Say it again.
Charity
I said, were you picky on the racks in the beginning because you came in knowing your style?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Not really.
Carrie (Stylist)
You got along from the very beginning.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
But then I think. I mean, I think he was probably more surprised that I was like, no. Like, I would tell you no.
Carrie (Stylist)
Oh, yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah. I was not afraid of a knock.
Carrie (Stylist)
I'd rather have that, then have somebody say, yes, yes, yes, yes. Everything. And then all of them are on the road, and I've altered everything. And they're like, yeah, I don't think I like this anymore.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah. And that's why I was like, I also. I mean, I think I also knew that I was like, oh, that's probably going to be like, I don't think I have that much flexibility versus, like, if I was doing this on my own, I'm like, he has to, like, he's tailoring these stuff. Like, we don't. We can't go back. So I'm like, I need to love it in this moment because if I love it, then I'm going to love it later. I can't, like, like it. You know what I mean? So.
Carrie (Stylist)
But you were really good, too. I mean, the only day we ever had problems when I would order a bottle of champagne at four and we'd start drinking was just on a certain day when they wanted you to wear a pair of sneakers.
Charity
If it wasn't for sneaker, I wouldn't wear pants.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I don't blame you. I don't really think I like a pair of pants that sneakers.
Carrie (Stylist)
Because she said, I need a heel. And when I would say to them, let me at least give her a wedge, something. Tell me what she's doing that she can't do it. And when I would read these notes in the middle of the night, and I'd be like, oh, fuck.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, she's gonna hate this.
Charity
No. And I would still wear the heel. I'm screaming so many times on the cobblestone. I was in a heel.
Carrie (Stylist)
You're a true lover. I don't. Did you have any issue with it?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No.
Carrie (Stylist)
Me neither.
Charity
He always made sure I was fine.
Carrie (Stylist)
Listen, I'd go to them and say, you either want somebody that's gonna be happy.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Hello.
Carrie (Stylist)
Or you want somebody that's gonna be miserable.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
It's really simple.
Carrie (Stylist)
Who do you wanna come on the date?
Interviewer / Podcast Host
It's really simple. Cause I'm like, there's only two maids present.
Carrie (Stylist)
And by that point, she and I had already finished a bottle of champagne. Correct. We aged charcuterie. It's now like 5 o' clock in the morning. And I'm thinking to myself, oh, good, she and I are dressed. And then we crawl into bed for a little while. Because I knew Gabby didn't. Gabby could take three minutes.
Charity
Gabby was three seconds half the time.
Carrie (Stylist)
By the time I'd get to Gabby, she'd be dressed. I'd be like, all right. Do you mind me? Would you like me to give you any jewelry?
Amazon Health AI / Bowen Yang
Sure.
Carrie (Stylist)
And then, you know.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Was she your easiest bachelorette? Probably.
Carrie (Stylist)
I find easiness with all of you.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
You love saying that. But I'm like, I'm not dressing in three seconds ever.
Carrie (Stylist)
It's not about the three seconds. I mean, Gabby. Sometimes I would just feel like, okay, yeah, you don't even need me, by the way. I'll go back and lay down with her again.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
We would.
Carrie (Stylist)
She was so simple. When she knew she wanted it, she just put it on and she was done.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Wow.
Charity
And, you know, and she had fantastic looks.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, she really did.
Charity
That green, like, metal one that we did.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
I am obsessed with that one. And then I think there was one where she had, like a big slit on the side. It was like.
Carrie (Stylist)
Gabby's was my most scary of all because I was always so afraid. There's a person I found out at Warner Brothers or actually that works for us, that is. They call him Carrie. And I thought they were making fun of him, but his name is actually Kerry, I guess. But he goes in and every nipple, every too much side Cleavage. We have people who are very, very precise about what can be shown on abc.
Charity
The nipple police.
Carrie (Stylist)
The nipple police. The side boob police. And I am always. So I just started thinking, people just, okay, yeah, I'm getting away with it. They actually hired somebody that would have to color in every single. I mean, every frame. They would have to color.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Wait, did you have a lot of black box moments?
Charity
No, but I remember Gabby nipple like nippies on, because they were always like, you have to have them.
Carrie (Stylist)
Because she would never put them on. And then she'd walk out without me ever seeing her. I mean, Gabby was already half the room by the time I come in.
Charity
I just remember she's like, I sleep in these things at this point under everything.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, my goodness.
Carrie (Stylist)
Gabby's was the most naked where.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Oh, she was.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
No, I think that's where I was like, oh, I. Because obviously you guys were right before me. I was like, I can push a little bit. I'm like, Gabby. I remember literally saying, Gabby did this. So I'm gonna like, sheer pants cheeks out.
Carrie (Stylist)
Let's do a little bit. Weren't you the one that. I had to change the lining of the dress twice because I. I thought if I just dropped in one color. It was a dress that we thought was so gorgeous. It was beaded and it was. But I kept looking at going, but there's an old ladiness to it.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Wasn't it the. I don't know.
Carrie (Stylist)
And I needed.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Was it early on in my season?
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Was it the gold one?
Carrie (Stylist)
Probably.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
And it was so heavy.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yes.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
That dress, heavy.
Carrie (Stylist)
But we. With a lining in it. It was so nothing.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yeah.
Carrie (Stylist)
Yeah. I lifted the lining out, not counting on the fact of that. If there was a light coming from behind her, you could see everything and make a dress. I was like, it is what it is. Little by little. So when we start. And those first nights are so long to begin with, and so that it's, you know, you're all standing in those heels in that water that's freezing, and those dresses are soaking up all of the water. When people ask me, why is everybody in sequins the first night? It's because they can't absorb. Absorb. I can't dry it fast enough in between. And that dress is now all the way up to here. And I just looking like, okay, guess what? We're doing netting or we're doing this.
Interviewer / Podcast Host
Yes.
Charity
This has been so much fun. And there is so much more to come. So we will have part two with Carrie coming tomorrow. So make sure you tune in.
Rachel Lindsay
Bye.
