Janeaustin hey, it's Bobby from the Bobby Bones Show. I had an incredible time at this year's iHeartRadio music festival and even got the chance to hang out with Diplo and Bailey Zimmerman while I was there. How did Ashes come together, Diplo? I pulled up real quick. He was about to leave on tour. You're about to jump in your tour bus and we had like three hours.
Lana
It was really cool.
Susan
He really just like randomly showed up to my house and like, oh, hey Diplo, what are you doing? He's like, I have a song that.
Bobby Bones
I want to show you.
Susan
And I was like, okay, you can.
Bobby Bones
Listen to the full episode out now, wherever you get your podcasts. And big shout out to my friends at Hyundai for making this possible. Had a blast cruising around festival weekend in the all new Palisade hybrid.

Welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour's Golden. Thanks so much for joining us. We are so excited to be back today.
Kathy
Always excited to be back. And you will not believe we have two very special guests today. Please welcome our former golden bachelor, Gary Turner. And the best part is his fiance, Lana.
Gary Turner
Welcome.
Susan
Welcome to Golden Hour.
Bobby Bones
How are you?
Gary Turner
Hi guys.
Lana
Wonderful. We're doing great.
Kathy
Yeah. It's so good to see you.
Susan
I gotta say, you make a beautiful couple.
Gary Turner
Yeah, I think we kind of do.
Kathy
I think so too.
Gary Turner
I think so.
Susan
Oh, gosh, she's pretty. She's real pretty. You've done well, Gary. You've done well. All right, well, listen, there's so much that we want to get in today, so we're just going to jump right into it. First, Lana, we're going to start with you. Tell us about yourself. I've learned that your name is Lana, not Lana. So that's number one. Tell us where are you from? What do you do? Give us the, give us your story.
Lana
Yes. So I was born and raised in a small town in Indiana, Auburn, Indiana, and spent my childhood there. I've moved around a little bit. I lived in outside of Atlanta a little bit for three years and then back to Fort Wayne and then just about three years ago, moved down to the Indianapolis area.
Kathy
I love it there.
Lana
Children down here. So I have three kids. I have my oldest daughter, Rachel, and she lives down by me here in Indy. I have a son, Nathan Nate, he lives in New York. And then my youngest, Jordan, she is down here as well. So she's a first year teacher. And so two out of my three kids are around me. So I'm really happy about that. And I have a grandson, Shep, so they're the best.
Kathy
So tell us how you met. How did you meet?
Lana
I'm going to have to abbreviate that because it's a long winded story, but I watched his season, I watched all of you beautiful ladies. That's the only reason I knew of Gary and all of you is from the show. That's awesome. And I don't know, something popped up on my phone about a friend request, and it said Gary Turner. And so I thought, I don't know, somehow I thought I was already friends with him. So I went to my computer and it said I was. And so I thought, well, what do you have to lose? So I sent him a message on. On messenger and. And to my surprise, he answered me and good job from there. So, wow.
Susan
So what was your dating life before Gary?
Lana
I had divorced about a year or so, year and a half ago. And so I was really just happy to just, you know, go through life. And I had my grandson and my kids by me. So, you know, at some point I knew I'd probably meet somebody that I'd want to spend my life with, but I wasn't really in a rush. So it just. I just knew whenever it was meant to be, something would come my way. And it was. It was fine that way.
Kathy
So the first meet was perfect. Like the butterflies, the sparks. And how did. When did it start getting really serious?
Lana
From the start.
Kathy
Yeah, I knew it. That was like, from.
Gary Turner
It was from the start.
Kathy
I mean, it's magical.
Gary Turner
It's getting close to eight months since we met. Neither of us has stopped smiling. It's. It's like it was that good right from the get go. And, you know, you have to kind of be cautious and is this for real? And all of that, but man, it is it really.
Kathy
And you've spent enough time together to learn each other's habits and the annoying things. I mean, we are of age now and things do annoy you, you know, some. You got to know what you can work with, what you can't. So I guess you figured that out as well by now.
Susan
Well, I'm guessing so since they're engaged. But I want to, I want to know. I have a couple of questions. How fast did you guys start talking about getting married? I mean, clearly you're engaged, and we'll get to that in a minute. But, you know, it's a. It's a big jump from meeting someone to saying, would you get married? You know, having that conversation.
Gary Turner
Yeah, I think the question was, would you consider getting married again? And we both had to look at that and answer positively before we move forward. And that was really. Yeah, it's probably, you know, two months ago, you know, because, you know, the consideration has to be There. It's not like we're ready to make a decision on it at that point, but we want to know if it's on the table. A possibility.
Kathy
Well, did you talk about living together or. It was.
Gary Turner
Oh, yeah, yeah. That was. That was a bigger part of the conversation because, like, right now, my house is for sale. I may have it sold. And so the conversation has been, you know, Atlanta, I'm going to be parking my ass here, you know, for a couple of months until we find a house together.
Susan
And so you're staying with Lana right now?
Gary Turner
Yeah. Well, like, I'll head back to the lake house today after, you know, at the end of the day. But, you know, we progressed from spending weekends together to spending three days a week together to four days a week together to the point where. Okay, we were really kind of pissed off when we weren't spending every day of the week together.
Susan
I want to see the ring. Enough of the talk.
Kathy
Bring it all the way. Oh, Garrett, did you pick this out by yourself?
Gary Turner
So? Well, there's an interesting story.
Susan
Oh, let's go. It's beautiful.
Gary Turner
Land. And I went to this jewelers, and I had a basic idea of what she wanted and what I wanted. And then we went to London and Paris, and I saw the Eiffel Tower. And, you know, it was spectacular. That night we woke up, you know, put those shades up, and there it was, sparkling in front of us.
Kathy
Unbelievable.
Gary Turner
And I came back to the gym jeweler, and I said, I want the side of Lana's engagement ring to look like the Eiffel Tower.
Kathy
I have goosebumps.
Gary Turner
And so there's, you know, the sparkle, you know, the. Yes.
Kathy
Take a picture and send it to my phone, please.
Susan
Yeah, Gary, take a picture. We need that. We need that.
Gary Turner
I will.
Susan
Oh, that is beautiful.
Gary Turner
I sat down with them, I said, this is the design I really want to have. Came back a couple weeks later. They executed it perfectly. And then. So I held that ring for, oh, I don't know, three, four weeks before I decided how I wanted to do it.
Susan
Well, tell us you didn't know.
Kathy
Lana, you had no idea he got it. I had a feeling.
Lana
No, I had no idea when he actually proposed that it was going to happen. Then.
Kathy
That's the best part. I want to know how romantic was the proposal? Where was it? What?
Lana
Well, you know, we had taken. We have taken a lot of trips, and so we had gone to Niagara Falls about a month or two ago, and, you know, that being the honeymoon capital, everybody thought. I think when we went that was going to happen. Then I didn't, you know, I didn't know when or when it was going to happen. But we were on another vacation on the way to Myrtle beach, and we had stopped in Asheville part of the way there to break up the drive. And so he did, like, a little magic trick. And so there were some questions that he kind of, like, guessed my thoughts. And then there was another piece of paper that said, will you marry me? And I instantly. Where are you?
Kathy
Were you outside? Were you in the car? Where were you?
Gary Turner
Yeah, we were in the hotel room.
Kathy
Did you have a plan, Gary?
Gary Turner
Oh, I totally did.
Kathy
Okay.
Gary Turner
I rehearsed the magic trick a half a dozen times.
Podcast Host (Ad Read Announcer)
Oh, how.
Susan
You know.
Gary Turner
So I had two solo cups, and under one solo cup was the wedding room. And so when I guessed the correct answer, then the last post it note said, will you marry me? And, you know, we've kind of said that before, and I've said, you know, are you gonna marry me? And so forth. And so she was kind of. Her attention peaked. But then when I lifted the other solo cup that had. There was a ring, then it was like, yes.
Lana
It gets emotional because, you know, there's a lot of feelings there.
Kathy
Yes, I get it. We're so happy for you. We really are.
Gary Turner
Thank you, Susan.
Susan
So do we. Of course we are. Do you have a wedding date? Are you planning a wedding, and am I invited?
Gary Turner
Absolutely.
Lana
We better be there to that. We really haven't talked wedding plans yet. I think we're just sort of basking in the engagement and, you know, working out some details as far as his house. And so.
Kathy
Yeah, you got a lot to do.
Lana
Yeah, but it'll come, so.
Kathy
But you know what? Even that you didn't set the date. Just knowing and wearing that ring and you're being together, that's. That's the best part.
Gary Turner
Yeah.
Susan
What did your kids say?
Gary Turner
Well, so before I asked her, I. I showed the ring to her oldest daughter, Rachel, and I showed the ring to Angie. And I said, just giving you guys a heads up, this is coming. And they both wanted to have some kind of a setup where all the family was there. And I'd ask the question, and they'd come out of the woodwork, and. And I go, you know what?
Kathy
That's not gonna work.
Gary Turner
So I kind of went my own way with it.
Kathy
Good for you. Yeah, I know your daughters are very happy for you. It's not like we don't talk to them, you know, Lana, we gotta get to know your daughters now.
Lana
And so, yeah, they'll be thrilled. So, yeah, everybody's ecstatic.
Susan
So it's so exciting.

Susan
So this question for both of you, both of you are recently divorced. How is that? Have people said to you you're together too soon? Talk to us about that.
Lana
I can answer that for my side. When I introduced my Gary to my kids and you know, they just saw us interact early on and my oldest daughter lives closest to me so she has seen it from the get go and my son in law Noah as well. And so when we started talking, they kind of like, mom, how serious is it? Like, are you serious with him? And I'm like, yeah, it's serious guys. I mean we pretty much have fallen in love. And she goes, I knew it. She goes, I could just see it. And they both said they knew from the start that we made a good couple. And they said they were the same way. They said when you meet somebody and you have those feelings, you just know. And they said we knew it with you guys too from the, from the start. So no, for them, they're like, no, it's not too soon, it's not too fast because you just can tell when you met the right person and you Gary.
Gary Turner
And for me, I, you know, I don't want to sound disrespectful at all. I don't think of myself as being divorced.
Kathy
What marriage it was, it was such.
Gary Turner
A short time and it was, you know, in an artificial environment that yeah, I have to stop myself and say, yeah, you know what? I am divorced. You know, it's not like I'm that guy that was married 43 years and then did nothing. I am divorced. But the comment of it being too soon has, has never come to me, you know, that question has not been asked. There are some things that are timeless, you know, and I think one of them is when you meet the right person. You don't even think about where it fits on the timeline. It's just when it's right, it's right.
Susan
And Gary, you're. We talked about it on the show. This whole thing of if you love someone, you'll make it work. You guys are living proof of that. Your house is for sale. You're moving to Indianapolis. You want a house with a pool so you can have your families. You've made it work. And I think that is so obvious listening to you guys talk and what.
Kathy
They want and they're taking action. It's happening. There's no stalling, there's no second guessing. You're 100% in. And God, you guys are great. You're giving me goosebumps.
Susan
I love, love, love you're giving me. I wish I had it.
Kathy
Lana, how's it feel to be part of Bachelor Nation now as you are?
Lana
Yeah, well, great. No, I, I welcome it. It's a lot of fun.
Susan
So, I mean, does it feel weird? You're dating, you're here, engaged to the guy that, you know, we. We dated him before you did, you know.
Lana
I know, right? Yeah.
Susan
Well, let's be clear. I didn't.
Kathy
Is that odd for you?
Lana
It's all good.
Kathy
You know, I kissed him one day. I'm just saying.
Lana
I watched the season, so I saw it all and you know, you just kind of have to know what comes with the territory. And I know that about him and I'm okay with it. Yeah.
Kathy
And that's being secure, who you are.
Lana
Yes.
Susan
So. So how did you celebrate after you got engaged? Like, did you get back in the car and keep driving to Myrtle Beach?
Gary Turner
Well, yeah, I mean, we spent the night. It was pre. Planned to be there that night. Yeah, we went to Myrtle beach and we met up with some of the pickleball group that you guys met.
Susan
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Gary Turner
We still travel together and, and do a lot of stuff together. So. Yeah. And then we spent. I don't know, was it eight or nine days in 10 days in Myrtle Beach.
Susan
Nice.
Kathy
So Gary being on the water and she obviously in Annapolis, there's water. Are you thinking about buying something towards that end? Are you leaving Indiana or.
Gary Turner
No, you know, family is here and so she has two kids here, a grand grandson and I got Angie close by and we keep working on Jenny to come to this area, you know, to, to, to relocate We've both had houses with pools. And quite honestly, that's where we want to get to is we want to get to a house with. We don't want a huge house, you know, we don't want to over need it now.
Kathy
No.
Gary Turner
Yeah, but we kind of want the pool, so that's what we'll start looking for.
Kathy
Okay, where. What area we're going to? That's what I'm saying. Yes. Down there. Okay.
Gary Turner
Westfield is where Lana lives now. So Carmel West Fishers is where Angie is. So it's all close.
Susan
How far is Jenny from you? I know she's a couple hours maybe. Yeah.
Gary Turner
From. From where I live now. She's on the other side of Chicago, so it depends on traffic there. You can make it in as little as three and a half hours, but sometimes it'll take five hours.
Susan
Wow, so that's a hike.
Kathy
Wasn't it three plus hours from the airport to get to your house, to the lake house?
Gary Turner
Yeah, yeah, just about.
Susan
Okay, so obviously we are so thrilled for you too, but I don't know if we can talk about it, but your book, that is coming out. First of all, someone sent me an excerpt from the book where you said you wished you had misjudged me. I mean, this podcast is all about me, Gary, that you would misjudged me.
Gary Turner
Oh, I know that everything is.
Susan
But I just want to say a lot of my friends reached out and said, do you know that he said he misjudged him? I said, yeah, Gary called me right after the wedding, after, you know, after that all happened. And so. Thank you, Gary. I wished I'd gotten the rose, too. I just want to. I just want to acknowledge that. That was very kind of you to say that.
Gary Turner
Thanks. Thank you. I'm so looking forward to get the excerpt in the book where I say I misjudged and I wish I could have done it different. And I'll just say, zip it to that. Did you get that excerpt? Okay?
Lana
Yeah.
Kathy
I hope you didn't talk about gas.
Susan
I just read. I had so many friends, I don't know where they got it from, but so many people said, you know, he really didn't hate you. I said, I know he didn't hate me, but it was just funny when I got that.
Gary Turner
Yeah.
Susan
So, you know, I mean, I just still want to say, Lana, just so you know, Susan got a gift from him. Everyone got gifts, one on one. Yours truly got absolutely nothing. It's not too late, though, Gary. You could send me a signed copy of your book, for example.
Kathy
There you go.
Gary Turner
There you go. And notice how she's not at all bitter about these things. She's very congenial about it.
Kathy
It took a minute. It took a minute. She's doing way better.
Susan
I mean, he came to his senses. It's all good. He's found the woman of his dreams who's absolutely gorgeous.
Kathy
You guys look great together.
Susan
I know, right? Wow, it's just so exciting. So, trips coming up? Anything, any plans coming up?
Gary Turner
We are going to Montego Bay in December. We're going to San Diego for the pickleball National Pickleball tournament.
Susan
Wow.
Gary Turner
We've got a few things coming up.
Susan
Okay, so we got to stop and ask you, Mr. Golden Bachelor. Gary Turner there is now another golden bachelor. Have you guys been watching this season? What do you think?
Kathy
Have you compared yourself at all at any moments? Like, I remember that moment. Oh, that was hard.
Gary Turner
Yes, that is. That is exactly why I'm watching is, you know, I know what it feels like because I'm the only guy on earth that's been there before him.
Susan
Right.
Gary Turner
You know, in our age group. And, you know, early on, I, I, you know, I've watched the shows and I go, okay, I'm not hooked yet. I'm not hooked yet. And as time has gone by, I've become more and more interested in where he's at, Especially now when he has the difficult decisions to make. You know, he's down to two.
Susan
Yeah.
Gary Turner
And my heart went out to him, you know, this week when he went from three to two.
Susan
Who do you think he's going to pick? Gary?
Gary Turner
I can't say. Oh, come on.
Susan
This is Vegas.
Kathy
Talk to us. You're having to watch it. You're a female. Talk to me.
Lana
I'll tell you what, I could. It's a toss up. I think both ladies left are wonderful. They seem awesome in different ways, but both very genuine and, you know, beautiful women. You know, I don't know. I kind of have a little bit of a favorite, but I, I stop Gary sometimes and ask him, you know, what was going on for you.
Kathy
Yeah. Yeah.
Lana
So a lot of comparisons. Just kind of from getting his point of view of knowing how that is, so.
Susan
Oh. But I am gonna ask. Who do you think I want to know, Lana, who do you think he's gonna pick?
Lana
Oh, that's a. That's.
Kathy
If you had to guess, there's only two.
Lana
Honestly love both women, but I love. I think Peg's energy is the fun.
Gary Turner
That was going to be my answer. Too.
Kathy
But Gary, you were so emotional. I remember tears and us bonding afterwards, like it's okay. You felt so torn and you felt bad letting people go. Not that he didn't, but he didn't show it like you did. There was a difference for me.
Gary Turner
I couldn't keep that in. You know, still today when I watch him have a rose ceremony, I get a lump in my throat. Think about you guys. I think about Kathy and Susan and Nancy and Joan and on down the line. I really do. You guys, I don't know that we'll ever be able to get together as a group again. But believe me, in my heart.
Kathy
Give it a minute.
Podcast Host (Ad Read Announcer)
We will.
Gary Turner
A wonderful, wonderful bunch of people.
Kathy
We love you too.
Lana
Yeah.
Susan
I've said to Susan, those two women, the last two who we've met them, they're both lovely women. We don't know who he's gonna choose, but they're so different. And Susan and I feel like we are like Peg. We are the energy, outgoing. You walk into a room and everyone's your new friend. And. And Cindy's much quieter, sensitive, polished. And they seem so different. And I. I don't know, I just think it's. That's got to be an impossible choice because they're so different. And he seems. And with Debbie.
Kathy
Debbie, she should be the next golden bachelorette. Who should this thing pardon? I'm sorry, Kathy. After Kathy.
Gary Turner
Never give up the campaign. Kathy. Just keep pitching. Keep. One of these days that ship's gonna land for you.
Susan
Oh, Gary, you have no idea. Off record, I'll tell you a bit about my recent dating life. You don't even want to hear it. But wait, I want to. We cannot finish this without asking, how is your health? You know, I think I told you, Gary, I have a friend who has the same diagnosis, which, can you believe that you have. He's doing great. He went through the treatment. He's cancer free. Said that, you know, his doctor just said, you know, your old age is going to get you before this, but how are you doing?
Gary Turner
And I'm hoping that's the same for me. You know, the doctors say that until I have three or four of these specific symptoms, that there is no treatment. You just keep going. You get your six month blood tests and away you go.
Susan
Yeah.
Kathy
How do you feel? Do you feel any symptoms or just feel normal?
Gary Turner
It's like I actually feel pretty damn good. 74 is supposed to feel, but you feel better than the average. That's good.
Kathy
Yeah, that's good.
Gary Turner
But. But I. I want to share one thing with you when, you know, lan is sitting here so gorgeous and sweet and everything. There's a very sensitive side to her. And our first date at dinner, you know, there were several things she did that I thought were very thoughtful. She goes, she knows I've already researched it. I'm fine.
Kathy
You're fine.
Gary Turner
Oh, my God, that is so awesome. So.
Kathy
Well, it was common knowledge, public knowledge. And she's not jumping in, thinking not.
Susan
We Googled people, Gary.
Kathy
It's 2025, you know.
Gary Turner

Susan

Bobby Bones
It'S Bobby from the Bobby Bones Show. I had an incredible time at this year's iHeartRadio music festival and even got the chance to hang out with Diplo and Bailey Zimmerman while I was there. Check this out. So how did Ashes come together? Diplo? Well, I kind of briefly met Bailey, I think at Morgan's show, one of them. And I think he's just the guy in Nashville. He's cool as hell. And I had a new kind of.
Kathy
Sound I wanted to do and I.
Bobby Bones
Think he's the one guy that could carry it. And I came to his house, I had a show, I pulled up real quick, he was about to leave on tour. You're about to jump in your tour bus and we had like three hours play the record for him. We kind of like got a scratch and then he handled on his own on the road.
Lana
Yeah, it was really cool.
Susan
He really just like randomly showed up to my house and like, oh, hey Diplo, what are you doing? He's like, I have a song that.
Gary Turner
I want to show you.
Susan
And I was like, okay.
Bobby Bones
And then now we're here playing it live. You can listen to the full episode out now, wherever you get your podcasts. And big shout out to my friends at Hyundai for making this possible. Had a blast cruising around festival weekend in the all new Palisade hybrid.
Kathy
I'm so happy to see you too. The smiles are so genuine. I mean, just a twinkle in her eye and her ring.
Susan
I mean, seriously, I gotta say, Bachelor, it's all about, you know, the thing, trusting the process, finding love. But all kidding aside, to see you two, both of you have had, you know, you've had divorces, you've had issues in your life. Gary, you lost a wife to See, people at our age, all right, Lana's a little younger, but still finding to find. To find your. A little bit. To find someone that you love.
Podcast Host (Ad Read Announcer)
And.
Susan
See you guys happy together really should give everybody hope that love is out there. You can find it. It just, you know, sometimes it hits you when you least expect it, and you guys are living proof of that.
Gary Turner
Yeah.
Lana
And the show did work because I wouldn't have known of Gary had it not been for the show. So in a roundabout way, the show really did work.
Susan
Yeah.
Kathy
Okay, I have a question for both of you and I, one at a time. What's your favorite thing about Gary? And Gary, your favorite thing about Lana, that's.
Susan
That we can talk about.
Kathy
Yeah.
Gary Turner
Good qualifier. My favorite thing about her is her eternal positive attitude and energy and smile. She's never, never down, never. She's always like. And every time I feel a little shitty about something, I look at that smiley face and I go, get your ass up. So what's yours?
Lana
I want to know Gary's heart. I mean, from the. From the very beginning, obviously, knowing he was the golden bachelor, you know, it's a big deal. He was, you know, huge. And so meeting him, I really went into it just wanting to know his heart and, you know, that just shines and he's. And, you know, as, you know, a loving person.
Susan
And is it. Is it Lana? Is it different? I'm sure when you guys go out, you're recognized. How is that for you?
Lana
I love it. I actually embrace it.
Kathy
Wait, I. I gotta get dressed.
Lana
Hold on for it. I kind of look for the look. And when they see him, I'm like, oh, you've been noticed over there, or whatever. So he's very gracious, as you know, and he. He won't turn down a photo op or, you know, to talk. To talk to somebody about, you know, the experience. But I. I actually don't mind it at all. It's kind of fun, so. And I know, so. Yeah.
Kathy
Have your families met yet? The kids. Meet the kids. Yes.
Lana
Everybody gets along. It's just. It's magical. Really. It just, it truly.
Susan
I'm honestly listening to you guys, to your story, looking at the love between you. It really is a magical story. It truly is.
Lana
I mean, the sparks have been from the get go and they just haven't let up. So it's. Yeah, it's, you know, it's fate.
Kathy
I know that feeling.
Gary Turner
I do think it's really, really nice how well our families have blended together. I mean, you know, my daughters, they're rambunctious.
Susan
And we love your daughters.
Gary Turner
Hers are too. So it's not like there's a problem there. They go right along, get along well. And we've had a number of family events back and forth where they Cool.
Susan
Well, we're waiting for our invitation. We want to come out and see you guys. We want to come out.
Kathy
We tried. Gary, you thought Fred was up here that time. We were going to get together that weekend and I was like, he's in St. Martin.
Susan
We gotta wait till they.
Kathy
Lana, when you look at Jen and have conversation with Jen, do you just see him all over?
Lana
Yeah. Yeah. She's very much like Gary.
Kathy
She is totally him.
Lana
So she's a barrel of fun.
Kathy
She is. She is.
Susan
They are. They are fun ladies.
Lana
Love them both.
Kathy
So do you have any questions for Kathy or.
Podcast Host (Ad Read Announcer)
I.
Gary Turner
I, I don't follow along as much as I used to. I guess. What's going on in the relationship area for the two of you? I know you.
Susan
I am, I would love to date. I am not dating anyone, but I would love to. If you know anyone, Gary, send them my way. You too.
Kathy
And for me, I have a long distance relationship that so far is working nicely. So. So we'll see.
Gary Turner
Good.
Kathy
It's, it's not easy. Much more distance than you two had, you know?
Gary Turner
Yeah. Yeah. So the other thing I would ask is of all the travel you guys do and you're very busy, what's been your favorite thing to do in the last six, eight months?
Kathy
I can answer that.
Gary Turner
What?
Kathy
Coffee talk in our robes with coffee talking. Her and I, it's so much better. Fun.
Susan
I mean, it is fun. I will tell you, Gary, when we're together, I just turn on. I don't know if you saw it online, Lana. Maybe you did our luggage falling out of the car.
Lana
Yes.
Kathy
I mean, Kathy causing the luggage.
Susan
Kathy did not. Whatever.
Kathy
Let's tell the story.
Susan
I would say the most fun thing. Susan and I took a cruise to Greece this summer in Istanbul. And, and I will tell you, it's always the same for me. Meeting people, you know, sharing our, our fun times with other people and our story and having other people go, you know, I got up off the chair and started living my life because you and Susan have given me hope. That's been the most fun for me.
Kathy
Yes.
Gary Turner
Did you get recognized in Greece?
Susan
Yes, yes.
Kathy
Istanbul.
Gary Turner
I was, I was amazed when we got recognized at the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Podcast Host (Ad Read Announcer)
Yeah.
Kathy
Yes. And I'm sorry.
Gary Turner
It sticks in. It sticks.
Kathy
Eiffel Tower is my granddaughter's dream. And I was supposed to take her. She's turning 13 next month. We were leaving September, and my boyfriend, who was French, said, no, no, no, darling, you don't go September. They pick it. They. They march, they. They're trying to overthrow the governor, president, whatever. He goes, not a good time. And sure enough, I saw it all over the news, and Bella was extremely disappointed. But we're gonna do it in the spring.
Susan
I have to say one more thing, Gary, before we let you go. Lana, this is for you. Gary has come a long way. The first night. And, Gary, you're not going to remember this. The first conversation we had in the mansion, you asked me what I like to do about travel, and I said, my dream is to go to all seven continents. I love to travel. And you looked at me. Do you remember what you said?
Gary Turner
I do not.
Susan
You looked at me and you. And this. Before I got trashed, you said to me, you know, I don't think we would necessarily be a good fit because I don't really want to go overseas. I like traveling in the United States to you. Now, do you remember saying that to me?
Gary Turner
You know, it's proof that I can evolve.
Susan
And that's why I said, this is for Lana. He has evolved. He is a man of the world. He's a renaissance man. So whatever you've done to him, Lana, yay. You, Gary, you're not stuck in the lower 50. Good for you.
Kathy
I mean, you're never still. You're never home. You're as bad as Kathy and I.
Lana
It's good to be that way.
Kathy
Don't you love it? Do you love it?
Lana
I love to travel. I love to see new places. And, yeah, we've got a lot of bucket list items to check off, so.
Susan
And you know what? You're going to have a lifetime. You have years to do it all, because that's. You found each other, and you deserve a lifetime of happiness, Both of you.
Gary Turner
Thank you, Kathy. That was very nice of you to say. Thank you.
Kathy
I mean, just give me real quick, before we go, what is on the top of each of your bucket lists? Just one thing.
Lana
I want to go to Switzerland.
Kathy
Okay.
Gary Turner
And I want to cruise to Alaska.
Susan
I've done both of those.
Kathy
Of course she has.
Susan
I've done both of those trips.
Kathy
Which one do you recommend?
Susan
If you. If you had to pick the next one, I will tell you. I've cruised to Alaska and did the. The inland passage and. And went to Mount McKinley Denali. Now, I would Absolutely. Do the Alaska first. Switzerland's beautiful, but, you know, you can yodel from any mountain.
Gary Turner
She can yodel, by the way. She can yodel.
Kathy
No, look, we got to hear it.
Lana
No, I cannot do it under pressure. But my heritage is Swiss.
Kathy
Yes.
Lana
So that's where my ancestors.
Susan
I mean, Switzerland's beautiful, but Alaska is. Is. It is spiritually moving. It is an unbelievable trip. Lynn, I can't believe we didn't ask you. Do you play pickleball?
Lana
Oh, yeah, I definitely. Since I've met him.
Kathy
Since you just learned with.
Lana
I was a tennis player, so I came into the sport from that angle and had always wanted to play. I just didn't really have a partner or anybody to do it with, so. Yeah, I'm all in.
Kathy
So how about golf?
Lana
Oh, I golf, too. I'm not very good, but I have fun, so it's just fun.
Susan
Do you guys golf together?
Lana
Seriously?
Kathy
Have you golf?
Gary Turner
Yeah, we've only played golf once together. Guess who we played. Go. So Lana just had a foot surgery so she couldn't play this week. Angie and I, Rob and one of her friends in Lana, we all went and played golf. What, Wednesday night?
Podcast Host (Ad Read Announcer)
Yeah.
Gary Turner
Yeah. And it was, like, cold as. And, you know, we're out there playing and. And of course, you know Angie, about the second hole, she comes back with fire, the small fireball.
Susan
That's why we love Angie. That's why we love Angie.
Gary Turner
It'll help you.
Kathy
Yeah, I love it. She's my kind of girl. And I do love both of your girls. It was such a pleasure having both of you. Thank you for sharing with us. I feel it, both of us, in our hearts, we want to congratulate you, wish you the best. And we have to see you again. You know that.
Susan
And if. And when you do plan that wedding, which I'm sure you will, I will be there. Just happy to see you guys be together for the rest of your days.
Kathy
Absolutely.
Gary Turner
Thank you.
Podcast Host (Ad Read Announcer)
Thank you.
Gary Turner
And, of course, we do know someone who, you know, can.
Kathy
Yeah, just, you know, we're gonna do this.
Susan
Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Excuse me. She's already done it once. How about let me get certified and I'll be your officiant?
Kathy
No, Kathy, just stay in your lane. I don't have stay in your lane. You do well in that lane.
Susan
I can do anything I want, Susan. That's the joy of.
Kathy
You're not going there. And with that being said, thank you so much for joining us.
