Welcome back to Bachelor Happy hours golden hour. Thanks for joining us today. We are so excited to be back as always. How are you today, Susan?
Susan
I am fabulous. I'm really excited about today's guest and she is very special to us. Please welcome Katie Bigger from Zach Shellcross season. Hi, Katie welcome to golden hour.
Katie
Thanks for having me again. Guys.
Kathy
I'm so gone. You've got that happily married glow on your face.
Susan
Telling you the hair, the skin, she's just glowing.
Katie
Oh, thank you.
Susan
What's going on?
Kathy
Have you been.
Katie
We're, we're doing really good. Zach's working his 9 to 5. I'm a part time nurse still and we have our wedding celebration coming up literally next weekend. So we are so pumped for that. We have a lot of bachelor alumni coming in for that.
Kathy
Okay, so let's get into that. Who's coming besides yours truly?
Katie
We've got all the girls like from my cast that I'm really close with. So Jess, Mercedes, Gabby, we've got Davia, Ariel, that crew coming in and then we've got Joey, Kelsey, we've got, we've. I don't. Kathy, I don't know if you've met him yet, but it's Jenna Pallock's boyfriend Connor Saley who was on Hannah Brown season. He'll be.
Kathy
Oh no, I've not met him.
Katie
Yeah, so that'll be super fun. Coming in. So there's like a bunch of people from different seasons coming in. It'll be a good time.
Kathy
How big a party is this going to be?
Katie
It's probably going to be, I think we're looking at 130 people for the celebration and then we're doing like a big pickleball tournament in the morning.
Susan
Oh, that's gonna hurt.
Kathy
I just can't break anything. I got my paddle ready. I'm ready to go.
Katie
Break anything, please.
Susan
So tell us about your new house. You got a new home?
Katie
Yes. So Zach and I are building a home. It'll be made or, sorry, it'd be finished building in like July, August. They're saying they just broke ground. So that's super exciting and I'm just like so pumped about it. Like this is my Super Bowl. I got to like pick all the colors. My cat, Lauren. I'm just.
Kathy
I saw you, you had a, you, you, you posted. I saw you looking at countertops and picking out marbles and granites and I thought, oh, she's having a blast with that.
Susan
Oh yeah.
Katie
Oh yeah. And Zach's just like, do your thing, Katie.
Susan
Like you got perfect husband. The perfect husband. Whatever you like, babe.
Katie
Yes, yes.
Kathy
So, so is this house. Watch this. Seamless transition, Katie. So is this house big enough to have children?
Susan
Oh yeah.
Holiday Shopper
Oh yeah.
Katie
It's got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 bedrooms in it.
Susan
Whoa.
Kathy
What?
Susan
How far is it from where you're at.
Katie
Now it's more. We're north, so it's more south. It's a bit. It's a bit south of the airport. So it's probably like a 15, 20 minute drive from where I am right now. So we're going to be on the complete other end of Austin, which I'm excited for now.
Susan
Kathy, are you south of the airport?
Kathy
No, I am. I am in central Austin, so Katie will be south of me, but still close enough for me to come over and babysit. For sure.
Katie
We're gonna need you because we have no family here.
Kathy
I'm family.
Katie
That's right.
Kathy
So we have a question. You said in something I read, I think it was a Bachelor Nation article, which are always fabulous fun to read if you listeners. If you don't read them, you should. You said something about your health being 100% before you have children. What does that mean?
Katie
Yeah, I think right now I went to a doctor because I've been like having like chronic fatigue. I've been having brain fog muscle.
Susan
Are you pregnant?
Katie
No. I would do that, but I guess I'm like really low in vitamin D, so I'm on these, like, me too. Supplements. And there are some other things too that I gotta check out and make sure we're all good. Yeah, but I think just like being a nurse too, I just want to be the healthiest I possibly can, especially before we have little baby and Are you gonna try.
Susan
Are you just gonna let it happen and not care which one way or the other or do plan.
Katie
Yeah, I, I think our plan is to kind of like start pulling the goalie in like fall of 2026.
Susan
Get in the house, get settled.
Katie
Yeah, exactly. And I don't want to be like nauseated while I'm decorating because I'm so excited for this. Like, I don't want to be like throwing up and I just want.
Susan
I just want Katie.
Kathy
Not everyone, let me just tell you, not everyone throws up and get sick. Some people just get pregnant, like me and eat until they explode and then pop the babies out and do it all over again.
Katie
I hope that's the case for me. I truly hope that's the case.
Susan
So has anything changed after saying I do? Do you feel any differently? I mean, you were living together, so. But what has changed, if anything?
Katie
I. I don't know. It's just like, we're just so in love with each other. Whether there's a two. Two rings on my finger or no rings at all. We're just so in love with each other. And he's just such an incredible man. Like, I, I, he genuinely. He's like the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful, selfless, like, everything you want in a husband. That's what Zach is. And, yeah, I don't think anything. I can attest to that with each other. Yeah. We're just growing every day, and it's just so fun waking your best friend. He's so fun to hang out with all the time. Fun things.
Kathy
We have to go back. Does everybody know? I think they know. One of the sweetest things Zach did for you was another engagement.
Katie
Yeah.
Kathy
Does everyone know that story? Can you just, like, give a quick little.
Susan
Share it.
Kathy
Share it.
Katie
I mean, we did post it on social media, but I think after the show, like, obviously, that was very constructed by the Bachelor and the whole setup and everything and lights and cameras, that's just, like, not normal. So I think Zach always had this idea of wanting to propose to me again, and I think it was really sweet because it's kind of like, okay, now you see me for everything that I am when the cameras are off. Like, you see my flaws and flaws and all the good, the bad, all of it. So, yeah, he re proposed to me in Portugal, which was beautiful. It was just us, and it was perfect. And we went on a little sunset.
Kathy
Did you know he was going to do it?
Katie
I had a feeling he was going to do it, but not there. And I guess he was, like, carrying around the ring all day, and he didn't know when to do it. It was just very, like, at the whim, he was like, okay, baby, like, I love you so much. And then as soon as he said that, I blacked out. I was like, oh, okay.
Kathy
So wait, because I, you know, I'm a detail person. So you had one ring on, and this is an engagement of, you know, untold proportions. Like, whoever does this. Darlene, I love you. Let me slip off that other diamond ring and let me slip on a new diamond ring.
Katie
Yeah, it was. It was pretty funny, but so now you have two. So now we have two. So we have.
Susan
Are we blending them and getting a giant one at this point or what? What is your plan?
Katie
It's funny because I have put them on at the same time, and it's just too much for me. I'm just like, a simple, I don't like anything too flashy kind of girl. So I think we're gonna hold on to the Neil Lane diamond for now maybe.
Susan
I don't know if you have a daughter it could be hers.
Kathy
Yeah, you know, she's. Kitty's not flashy. You know, a five bedroom home that she's building. I mean, there's nothing FL about that.
Holiday Shopper
Okay, so question. Are you one of those people that starts your holiday shopping in like, July?
Holiday Shopper's Friend
July? I mean, no, never. Like, I, I, I like to shop, actually, I like to shop on Christmas Eve because I find it to be a little more festive.
Holiday Shopper
But you like to start decorating right after Halloween?
Holiday Shopper's Friend
No, after Thanksgiving. Okay, that's different. That's different. Halloween? No, not Halloween.
Holiday Shopper
You know, I consider myself to be a pretty good gift giver. I've got my list and I've checked probably three times.
Holiday Shopper's Friend
She takes the holidays very seriously.
Holiday Shopper
I can't help it. You know, I love finding the perfect gifts for everyone. And Walmart has all the top brands. Nespresso, Sonos, Nintendo.
Holiday Shopper's Friend
Nintendo at Walmart. Who knew?
Holiday Shopper
I know. And more. All of your shopping in one place.
Holiday Shopper's Friend
How much more shopping? Oh, boy.
Holiday Shopper
Just saying. Get all the brands everyone loves at Walmart. Head to Walmart.com or download the Walmart app to get all your gifts this season.
Holiday Shopper's Friend
What's that sound?
Katie
That's the sound of Downy unstoppable scent.
Holiday Shopper's Friend
Beads going into your washing machine and.
Katie
Giving your clothes freshness that lasts all day long. There it is again. It's like music to your ears.
Holiday Shopper's Friend
Or more like music to your nose.
Katie
That freshness is irresistible.
Holiday Shopper's Friend
Let's get a Downy Unstoppables bottle shake.
Katie
And now a sniff solo.
Kathy
Nice.
Katie
With Downy Unstoppables, you just toss wash wow. For all day freshness.

You know, huge turnouts.

Okay, okay, I get your point, Bernie. We talk about the billionaire class, the cost of living, and of course, the government shutdown, not to mention the current state of the Democratic Party.

Dr. Priyanka Walley
On the podcast Health Stuff, we are tackling all the health questions that keep you up at night.
Katie
Yes, I'm Dr. Priyanka Walley, a double board certified physician.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
And I'm Hari Kondabolu, a comedian and someone who once googled do I have scurvy at 3am on health stuff, we're.
Katie
Talking about health in a different way.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
It's not only about what we can do to improve our health, but also.
Katie
What our health says about us and the way we're living.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
Like our episode where we look at.
Katie
Diabetes in the United states. I mean, 50% of Americans are pre diabetic.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
How preventable is type 2?
Katie
Extremely. Or our in depth analysis of how incredible mangoes are.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
Oh, it's hard to explain to rest of the world that like your mangoes are fine because mangoes are incredible, but like you don't even know.
Katie
You don't know.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
You don't know.
Katie
It's going to be a fun ride. So tune in.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
Listen to health stuff on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Kathy
I love you. And you know that we've both been kind of busy and haven't seen you very much, but I'm saying it here publicly. When that little munchkin or twins or triplets, whatever you may have, I will be there to help you, I promise.
Susan
Oh, I know you will fly in and help. We just missed you too. We were all there.
Katie
The more than.
Susan
Was she out of town? What was it? Remember I asked about her and we.
Kathy
Were all the whole. The whole. So we had a little get together. That was my slip Up. That was me. That was me.
Katie
I was so busy, though. I was. I was watching your guys stories and you guys, we were looking like a. Like you were having a blast. And finally, Kathy's kitchen was used, so that's good.
Kathy
Hey.
Susan
Even though it was morning when we cooked, but.
Kathy
So wait, Katie, I have a question about your. I know you want to become or at least get a green card, correct?
Katie
Yeah.
Kathy
Have you started that yet?
Katie
So basically when I left Canada in August, there's a three month, kind of like probation period where I can't do anything. So basically in December, we're going to start the process. And then from there it's kind of like the unforeseeable future of when I can leave the country, when we will get it. But I'm working with a great immigration lawyer, so hopefully sooner than later, but we'll see. It's.
Kathy
Yeah, it's. It's a lot, but that's just for a green card. Do you plan on becoming a citizen?
Katie
No, I'll keep my citizenship in Canada.
Kathy
But you can have both.
Katie
Yeah. I'll be a permanent resident here. I don't want to take away my Canadian citizenship.
Kathy
You don't have to. You can be dual.
Katie
Okay.
Podcast Host
You have both.
Katie
You can be dual, but I think you have to. I don't know the in and outs. I don't want to.
Kathy
I do. My sister was my sister's tool. You could.
Katie
Okay. I didn't. Oh, I think it's maybe like the reverse. Like, if Zach and I were to live in Canada, he would have to revoke his U.S. citizenship in order to be a Canadian.
Susan
Canadian.
Podcast Host
Okay.
Katie
Yeah. There's one of them where you can't have both. And I think it's if. If he came to Canada, but.
Kathy
Well, my sister moved. I don't know. Maybe laws have changed. My sister moved to Canada, married a Canadian, and kept dual citizenship.
Katie
Okay, well, maybe I'm wrong.
Kathy
I don't.
Katie
Maybe.
Kathy
I don't know. But whatever. We would love to have you in this country as a citizen, permanent resident. We'll take anywhere we can get Katie.
Susan
She just belongs here.
Kathy
She belongs here. So we just had Mel season fantasy suites. We just. It just aired on Golden Bachelor, and we were curious because we are voyeurs. We want to know about your experience as a successful couple that went through fantasy suites. So if. If Mel is with someone right now, what advice do you have for the woman he's with? What? You know, tell us what your thoughts were. Fantasy suites moving forward.
Katie
I mean, for Mel, I would just say, be yourself. Trust your gut. Don't put any declarations like, oh, I'm not having sex this week, anything like Zach did, because that kind of turned the corner in the worst way. But, yeah, I think also just, like, taking advantage of the time, really getting to know each woman for who they are.
Susan
How did you feel being there? What were your.
Katie
For me, I mean. I mean, everybody's gonna deal with Fantasy Suite week differently. I think. I've watched the Bachelor in the past. I knew full fledged what I was getting into when I signed that contract. If I got that far, then that was potentially something that was gonna happen, and I wasn't blind to that, and I knew that going into it, and I just wanted to compartmentalize each relationship as best as I possibly could.
Kathy
Wait, do you mean. I'm sorry, I have to interrupt. You mean Zach's other relationships? You said compartmentalize the relationships. Which one?
Susan
Yeah, the other women. Right?
Katie
Yeah, with the other women.
Kathy
Okay.
Katie
Gabby and Ariel were there for Fantasy Suite week, and. Yeah, you just. I just wanted to go into that week and just grow together and get to know him more and vice versa. That's all I wanted.
Susan
And you weren't thinking about the other women? You weren't?
Katie
No, I wasn't trying to because I was very confident in our relationship, and I was confident in who I am as a woman and what I can bring to the table. And if you want that, that's amazing. If you don't, then you don't. And. Yeah, best of luck.
Kathy
So. So Susan and I were just talking on one of our other podcasts about what we. Of course, we don't know how Mel's season, as we're recording this, we don't know how his season ends, but, you know, he's struggled a little bit to. To choose to. To declare love. He hasn't really been able to. And so Susan asked me, what could you have done that if. If Mel said to both women, look at. I can't choose either one of you because I. I need to get to know you better. Could you have done that with Zach? Could you have said, I honestly respect.
Katie
That if you don't think you can get there.
Susan
And he wanted to continue dating both of you after the show. That was the question.
Katie
Okay.
Susan
That's a big difference. Okay.
Katie
Yeah, you will. You need to pick. You need to pick which one you want to further. Thank you. Grow your relationship.
Kathy
You wouldn't. Okay, so you wouldn't have been willing with one of. If it was down to two you and let's say Ariel and this was over.
Susan
He's gonna.
Kathy
Show's over. He says, I can't commit to either one of you again. We don't know what Mel did. This just a hypothetical situation.
Katie
Right.
Kathy
You. You wouldn't. You would have said to Zach, no way. You choose me or you choose Ariel. Otherwise.
Katie
Yeah, I'm not doing this for. Yeah, no, maybe this is why I'm.
Susan
You know, your girlfriend. Right. Okay. Kathy. I asked her this question. She said no. I'm confident in myself. He could date both of us after the show because I feel like he.
Kathy
Would choose me at the end.
Susan
There is no way.
Katie
Yeah, yeah, that's tough. I like after the show. It's kind of like you should know by that point who you want to carry a relationship with.
Kathy
Okay. It's gonna be another show, another season. All right, well, what advice do you have? Because clearly you. You got the guy. You didn't have to share him with anyone. What advice do you have for the couple? Melon. Assuming he chose someone coming off the show because, you know, getting out of that bubble is a thing.
Katie
Oh, my God, is it ever. I think for us, it really worked for Zach and I just. Because we truly just wanted to, like, dive into our relationship further when we could just prance around, go for coffee dates. How does he treat a server? Like, what do you like with your friends, meeting them. So I think we, Zach and I just really just wanted to be with each other. And we didn't let, like, like press or events or any of that. Our life. Like, Zach is pretty much offline. He doesn't love social media. Even like, him trying to, like, when I say, babe, can you get in this? Tick tock. It's like pulling teeth for him.
Susan
So now you need us. We'll do that.
Katie
Yeah. And honestly, I kind of. I would take that over a man that's like, hey, babe, get a shot of me, you know, doing bicep curls for my followers. Like, okay. Like, that's not the guy I can't. That's not the guy I want to be with. So anyways, Zach went back to his normal life. I went back to mine. I mean, I was a full time nurse. Now I'm a part time nurse. And I'm very grateful for that because we know the emotional and the physical.
Susan
Yes, that's a lot.
Katie
Yeah. That can create. But yeah, we just went back to our normal lives and we, you know, the events that we wanted to go to the.
Kathy
So would your advice be for Mel and Whoever. To go back to their. You know, what would your advice be for them?
Katie
Yeah, I think just, like, going back to your regular lives and, like, hard try and try and mend them together. I mean, you can get really consumed by all of this craziness, and even in the bubble, take advantage of some of it, but not let it consume your life. Like, Zach and I are just normal kids.
Susan
You gotta get to normal.
Katie
Yeah, exactly.
Kathy
Did you hear what she just said? We're just normal kids who fell in love on a TV show.
Katie
So cute.
Susan
All right, I have a question for you. And we're talking about past seasons. Out of the entire franchise, is there anybody that you wish that would have been able to make it to Fantasy Suites?
Katie
You know what? I think everything happens for a reason. And I think no matter what, the leads just have to trust their gut. But somebody who made it further.
Kathy
Dang.
Katie
I don't know.
Susan
A lot of times people will say, but if he chose, like in this year's episode of golden, if he had. If he kept Debbie, or if he kept so and so going through a.
Kathy
Fantasy suite, or if Gary had chosen me.
Katie
Oh, I don't know how to answer that question.
Kathy
Tough one.
Katie
I don't. I don't really remember.
Kathy
Well, let me ask you. That's my next question. Katie. That's my next question. How much of a make or break do you think fantasy suites are?
Podcast Host
Yeah.
Katie
It depends what happens.
Podcast Host
I.
Susan
Well, isn't it when you take your mics off, you actually talk as a couple?
Katie
That's when you really get to know somebody. Like, it's. It's hard. So in the. In those moments. Yes. At Fantasy Suite week, you really have to, like, you kind of, like, stay up for, like, the whole night, just.
Kathy
Okay, I want to know that. So what is the biggest thing you learned about that you can share? The biggest thing you learned, the most important thing you learned about Zach in fantasy suites that you didn't know.
Katie
Oh, I. I learned how clean and organized he was. Like, he had his, like, shirts laid out on the bed. He had his toothbrush in a specific spot. I'm like, oh, be here. We're like, what is this? I love it. I love it. But I was like, wow, this man is clean. Like, very clean.
Susan
He's neat and organized. That's a big plus.
Katie
His little bag. And I'm like, I've got everywhere. Sorry if I'm not allowed to say that word. But, yeah, I learned how organized when.
Susan
You got to do the Fantasy Suite. When you walked in, did you Be like, finally, nobody's going to hear us. It's just me and you. Did you have that feeling or were you more nervous?
Katie
A little bit of both. It was like, finally, like, I can, like, really show you that I'm, like, super goofy and silly because, like, when cameras were on me, I kind of hurdled up a little bit and I was like, oh, my God, Katie, don't say or do the wrong thing. Don't make yourself look like an idiot. And like, in the fantasy suite, I was like, all right, here I am.
Susan
This is the real me.
Katie
Yeah, this is the real me.
Holiday Shopper

Oh, it's hard to explain to rest of the world that like your mangoes are fine because mangoes are incredible. But like, you don't even know.
Katie
You don't know.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
You don't know.
Katie
It's going to be a fun ride. So tune in.
Dr. Priyanka Walley
Listen to health stuff on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Kathy
What is the thing that Zach learned about you? What if I asked him? What would he say? What do you think the thing, the biggest thing he learned about you that he didn't know?
Katie
I think he realized how funny I was.
Susan
Right.
Kathy
You are funny. You are funny.
Katie
I'm pretty funny. I think. I.
Susan
You know what?
Katie
It was, like, three years ago, so it was really hard to remember.
Susan
Oh, come on.
Katie
I remember bits and pieces of what happened, but I don't know.
Kathy
Were you nervous? I mean, if you can't remember, like, I would be nervous.
Katie
A lot of the conversation was what had just happened, and that was the fact that he did. He was intimate with Gabby, and we were talking about, you know, he. He was. He was owning up. He was apologizing. He was. We were just diving into communication, our communication styles. We also learned that about each other, too, and how we deal with conflict. How are we gonna find a resolution? I think that was, like, really important for us to go through throat. Go through. Sorry.
Kathy
Because how were you supposed to know? How did you know that he had slept with Gabby?
Susan
She asked.
Katie
Well, I actually. I actually just knew because we're on the show. You. You gain these friendships with the girls more than you do the lead. I spend more time with and Gabby, and I was very aware of what certain people needed in order to progress, and I was fully aware of what was most likely going to happen. Nobody told me who it was. I pieced it together myself. Nobody had to tell me.
Kathy
But she was in the fantasies. How many were in the fantasy suites?
Susan
Three.
Katie
Three of us.
Kathy
So I'm saying you did the other one. I mean, I'm trying to figure out how you knew because you don't see the other women, Right?
Katie
I just knew based on how our friendships. I mean, we talked to each other, like, even when, like, producers were like, go to bed. It was like, Ariel, Gabby and I would, like, go into a hotel room together and just.
Susan
And talk.
Katie
Yeah.
Susan
You knew.
Katie
I knew. I knew.
Kathy
And, well, yes, clearly, it was not a. It was not a. Him being intimate with someone else clearly was not a make it or break it for you in the fantasy suite.
Katie
No, not at all.
Susan
Really.
Katie
I felt humiliated. And I also was like, oh, wow. Okay. Our relationship isn't as strong as I thought it was, but Zach and I talked a lot during that time that we had off cameras, and I just, like, I got some more clarity. I got more insight into who he is as a man. And at the end of the day, he's an incredible man. Yeah, I could see that off the show. Within, like, the first time I ever met him, Met him, I was like, wow, this man is genuine. He's sweet, he's kind. Like, it's everything you would want.
Kathy
So. So did you know at the end of the fantasy suites. How confident were you that you were the one?
Katie
Because I was, I wasn't confident, but I'm confident in what I could bring to the table. Like, I was just, I was like, if it's not me, I'll be okay. It's gonna hurt, but I will be okay no matter what. And if it is me, then he's gonna be the happiest man alive for the rest of his life.
Susan
And he is.
Katie
And he is.
Kathy
So that's, you know, like I said, that's why I'm so excited to see the end with Mel. Because he's got these two women that seemingly he could love both of them love or get. Grow to love both of them or grow to love neither of them. But I just wonder. I, you know, listen, the day I end up in a fantasy suite, you can expect the stock market to go to zero. The, you know, the, to snow in the middle of July. So, you know, keep that in mind. But I would say that, I would say that I, I, I can't imagine leaving there and not feeling like you were the one.
Katie
Yeah. Feeling.
Susan
Do they give you. Did he give you any?
Katie
Yes.
Susan
Hopeful. That's what I'm thinking.
Katie
Yes.
Susan
You have to be able to share something.
Katie
Yeah. There was a moment, I think it was our, like, last chance date. And the. I don't know if the cameras picked up on this because I think they have to be in a certain radius in order to pick up your mic. Anyways, they had, like, shot down. They were, like, already walking to the waterfall. And I turned to Zach and I'm like, I can't do this anymore. Like, this. I was like, this is crazy. Like, if it's not me, I want to go home. Like, I genuinely.
Susan
Tell me now.
Katie
Yeah. And he was like, he basically muttered.
Susan
To me, don't leave.
Kathy
He said, what?
Katie
It will be worth it.
Kathy
Oh, I'm so. Zach. I love you. I love you.
Holiday Shopper
Yeah.
Kathy
All right, well, before we move on, we gotta, we gotta know, how do you feel about Taylor, Frankie, Paul being the bachelorette?
Katie
I think it's gonna be a crazy, crazy good season. I, I'm dialed in. All the girls that, like, I run into, they're like, katie, are you gonna watch? I was like, oh, yeah, I'll host some parties.
Kathy
I want to come. I want to come.
Katie
Yes.
Susan
What are you expecting? Are you expecting drama? Are you expecting. I think they're a little bit older than her cast. Like, nice looking men from what I've seen.
Katie
I'm hoping I'm I'm thinking they've got a good cast for sure. I mean, she's a beautiful woman, so. Yes, beautiful woman. So then what do you think about.
Kathy
The idea that she is, you know, she was not plucked from obscurity. She has a huge following and she has children. How do you think that's going to affect the franchise's decision to bring her in? How do you think that whole thing is going to fly?
Katie
I think it'll be amazing. I don't. I don't think we've had a lead before that's had kids.
Susan
Kids. This is the first, I believe.
Katie
Yeah.
Susan
No, no, no, no, no. Somebody. No, no. He married. Yeah.
Kathy
Emily Maynard, maybe.
Katie
Okay.
Kathy
That was a while ago.
Katie
Okay.
Kathy
But she had one. She had one shot.
Katie
It'll be. I think it'll be awesome. I think it'll be really good. And just given her background, the fact that she has kids, I think it's going to be a great season and I genuinely think we're going to see a good love story come from it. Yes.
Susan
We need a good love story. I hope Mel's ends with a good love story. Or at least a like story.
Katie
Hey, yeah, this sounds interesting.
Kathy
Can I get on this bandwagon? I hope my story ends with a good love story. I hope Susan ends with a good love story. We all want good love stories, Kathy.
Katie
We're gonna find you a good man. Don't you worry.
Kathy
We're hoping. We are open.
Susan
Oh, God. All right, Katie, now we've got to ask you tons of questions which we love doing, and we're gonna open the floor up to you.
Katie
Alrighty.
Susan
Do you have anything question wise or comment wise for Kathy and I?
Katie
Yes, Susan, I want to hear about your new relationship.
Susan
Oh, see, yeah, he's French, he's far away. I adore him. He's a good man. But it's not easy with the distance. He was here for a month and I really enjoyed every minute of it the last few days. I think I was ready because I'm so used to being on my own, to have somebody in the home. And he's not as neat as Zach.
Katie
Okay, I got you.
Susan
So I'm constantly going behind him because I'm a freak.
Katie
So.
Susan
Yeah, but he's. He's good people.
Katie
Okay, good, good. And Kathy, what about you? What's your love life looking like you're watching?
Kathy
I'm looking at your puppy dog thinking, you know, your puppy dog has a better love life than I have. The way you're patting and loving on that dog. I'm like, yep, okay, I need to get a dog.
Susan
Is that the new puppy?
Kathy
That's Honey.
Katie
She's a year and a half old. We got her last. Last September, and she's the sweetest little girl ever.
Kathy
She's so sweet. So sweet. Yeah. No, I don't have a love life, but, you know, I'm the eternal optimist. I'm a hopeful romantic. I'm all those things, and I still feel right.
Susan
You're up for dating?
Kathy
I'm open for dating. Up for dating. But, you know, in fact, Katie, at your party, you know, I'm gonna. I'm gonna hang out at the bar and. Or hang out on the street or whatever and see who, you know, who's around. Because I'm thinking if people. If it gets out that a lot of Bachelor Nation people are going to be there. You know, you never know. You meet someone in the strangest of ways. Right when the time is right, it'll happen.
Katie
That's right.
Susan
Everybody wants to have you, like your happy ending. That's what the show is about, really. Finding love. And you're absolute proof that it does work.
Kathy
Yeah.
Katie
Thank you.
Kathy
I want, and I will tell you, Zach, I've seen you just for anyone. I've been out to dinner with Zach and Katie. They've been to my home. They are everything that you're hearing out of Katie's mouth. He is that wonderful guy. She is. Katie, you are incredibly funny and just as kind as your husband. And, honey, your sweet little pup is lucky to have you as parents, just so you know.
Susan
And she knows how to conduct a TikTok. Remember the one we did at Cat Kathy's house?
Katie
Yes. That went viral.
Susan
That was awesome. We gotta do that again. And then being at the concert, I sat with Zach listening to the music. You were out and about talking, and he is such a sweetheart. He's just easy to be near.
Katie
He really is.
Susan
And he's kind and he laughs. Of course I made him laugh.
Kathy
But who's the more outgoing of you two? It's you, isn't it, Katie?
Katie
What's that?
Kathy
Are you the more outgoing of the two of you?
Susan
Yes.
Katie
I would. Yeah, I would say so. But he's. He's outgoing in. In other ways as well. Like I would say, I definitely have more, like, in your face personality. And he's not so much.
Susan
He's funny, though. He is.
Katie
Yeah, he's funny.
Susan
He's got a good sense of humor.
Kathy
All I can tell you is I'm getting ready for that pickleball contest. And you know, I did win the one on the Golden Bachelor.
Susan
So just get ready. Don't drink too much the night before.
Katie
Oh, no.
Susan
She's gonna win.
Kathy
All right, well, listen, we, We. We hate to. Hate to eat and run, as they say, but this has been so much fun, really. Katie, thank you for coming onto the podcast. I love you. I can't wait to see you soon. It's always so great to chat with you. Always.
Katie

Susan

Katie
Thank you.
Susan
Are you going to wear your wedding gown? Are you? How are you?
Katie
I have, like a. I. I have, like, a new little cocktail wedding dress.
Susan
Nice.
Katie
Yeah. Yeah, I know.
Susan
Pictures, Kathy.
Kathy
I want to see. Wait. Yeah. You didn't even tell me what the dress is for this thing.
Katie
It's like a short, sparkly cocktail dress.
Susan
Is it like black tie optional?
Katie
The party, or it's like elevated cocktail attire? That's the.
Kathy
Yeah, I got the dress. I just bought it with Susan when all the girls were here. I got the dress. All right, we're good to go.
Susan

Katie
80% water. I thought I was getting a better deal because it's so big.
