I was in Portugal. I was, you know, traveling is fun. Doing our podcast from afar.

I have to tell everybody two things. I talked to Susan once earlier and she said, kathy, you cannot believe how much food I've been eating. And I burst out laughing. And I said, let me think about this. An Italian in Italy who's eating too much food. What a shocker. Now if I were there, I'd be drinking the wine.

I have had the wine, but I've been really enjoying the spritz. The aperol. Spritz.

Oh, I did those in Portugal.

Aren't they great? And of course, gelati. A lot of gelato.

Trust me, there's steps here. I have videos, I'll show you. And then fella caught me on the way back up. Wait. We were about to go take a boat to Positano for the evening last night and have dinner there. And it was a lot cheaper than $150 cab ride, which by the way, I ended up doing both ways. So 300. But guess why we go down 17,000 steps that I have videos to prove. We get there and I forgot my charge and my license in the room. I had nothing, no money. I had to come back up the steps. You have no idea. I go, bella, I have to pause. I can't do it. Then there's like a smooth straight uphill after 19,000 steps and I'm like holding onto the wall. She took a video.

I was, it was, you know, and that's what makes everyone be able to eat whatever they want in Europe, because there's a lot of up and down stairs. I was not ready. I knew Portugal was hilly, but it literally, yeah, is steps up, steps down, very little level ground. I mean, it's just same, same.

It's Europe, I guess. Yeah, it is.

[Kathy]

Well, it's those cities for sure.

Because tomorrow we go to Capri and I get to go to the Blue Grotto one more time.

[Kathy]

I've never been to the Blue Grotto, but I'm going back to Italy. I'm going to Capri and I'm going to do that.

I want to go to Sicily next. You want to go to Sicily?

Yes. I've never been. That's where my son in law is from. Oh, okay. Let's plan it.

I invited friends. They were out of town, they were going on the lake. So you know what I did? I went by myself.

I did. I. I had a blast. He is so funny. And I typically don't laugh at comedians. I don't. I sit there, go, what? What? They're not that funny.

She's one of them in the crowd, you know, you don't want her to be there.

Susan, I could not. I can imagine laughing. And I'm also, I gotta tell you, you know, you always ask what my type is. Jared is my type.

Yeah, he's adorable.

Young. A little young. But here's the other thing. His book that's coming out walking Red flag that I guess is available for pre order. Everyone needs to. I can't wait to get my hands on.

I know, I know. I'm going to see him June 11th. He'll be in Philly. Yeah.

He is truly a funny, funny guy. Not only does he love bachelor and he's done so many things, he's just that guy who is friendly to everybody. Funny as all get out. Anyway, it was a blast and I did it by myself. So I think you should be proud of me.

I'm very proud you went. I really am. And did we have a big week in bachelor nation news or what?

Oh, my gosh. Okay, let's get into all the news. The first one is my favorite. Joey Grassaday re proposes to Kelsey Anderson with a new ring. And of course she said yes again, they were on a trip in Cabo and the. And the videos look like he had us a setup that almost looked like a bachelor. Like the bachelor, he had flowers and on his knees, you know. And what I noticed was the ring was rather large, the stone. And it reminded me of Katie. And Zach shall cross Katie bigger. And Zach, he re proposed her, I think in Spain.

You know what, Kathy? I think that is the most romantic thing because you've proposed on tv on the show itself. And this has so much, even more meaning, if you will, that they've been together a couple of years now. Right.

[Kathy]

So that's what. That's what Joey said. He said, well, first of all, I just wanted to cry. He said, forever isn't enough with you. I cannot wait to make you my wife. And he said it was an opportunity to reaffirm their promises to each other. And if, you know, ugly. Kathy was sitting there thinking, you know, how damn lucky is Kelsey? She gets the guy. Not one ring, two rings. Like, I only want one, you know,

he's just as lucky, though. Look at her, right?

[Kathy]

She is a prize. She is.

I think. I think. And their wedding is in 2027, so maybe we'll get an invitation. I think.

At some event, and I don't remember what it was.

And Zach Brown. Zach Brown, I wish. He just got married to. What's her name? Jewelry girl. Anyway, she introduced me to Zach Clark, who I'd never met before. And she kind of said, oh, you know my friend. And I looked at them and I said, because this is what Kathy does. I said, are you two dating? And they both looked at me and. And Caitlyn was speechless and kind of got nervous and. Well, maybe kind of. So I'm guessing they're still dating. And I'm guessing that, you know, she might want to have kids and. Yeah, okay, so we'll see what happens with that.

Okay, then. Or maybe for the dog. Who knows? All right, the next one is Trista Sutter celebrates son Max's high school graduation. We see him all grown up in the photos. I just see how exactly like Ryan. He looks like Ryan. So cute.

He's so tall. He's got a beautiful, innocent face.

Okay, so here's the thing. Not that anybody could ever forget, but Trista first.

First one.

First season, 2003, met Ryan. They have two children. How much do you love that? That woman has perfect marriage. Happy Ever after. Well, no one has a perfect marriage,

but, well, they're happier together.

Yeah. And I just love that. And I just want to wish her son he's off to college. I'm not sure where, but as a former educational consultant, I am sure you picked a great school. And I wish you all the best. Max, in your.

Absolutely. And Trista is a perfect example. That love happened on tv. Final rose. And they're still together all this time. Later, watching their first graduate.

I just love it. I love it. And their daughter's next. I think she's going into high school. So, you know, here's the thing. Both of us have had children.

These kids grow up so fast. And that four years high school is a blink. The four years of college is a blank. So get ready, Trista, because you think, you know it's going to go fast.

Four years of college is a hard blink because you're putting out a lot of money. Well, you're like, when is it going to be over? But how about. Jojo Fletcher? When I first heard something, I thought the worst. Okay. Reveals how having a baby has affected her marriage with Jordan Rogers. When you hear that all the time after the baby, things go downhill. But in this case, they couldn't even get closer than they are right now. They always did everything together, and now this baby has brought them even closer. What an awesome thing to see.

I love it. I. So, first of all, I love the baby's name, Romy Blair. That is adorable. She was born in December, and you're right, she's. Jojo says it brought them closer that he gets up with her at night. Anyone who has a new baby, my husband, by the way, did the same thing. He got up and brought the babies to me so I could nurse. He would change their diapers. So, JoJo, you've got a good, good guy there who's willing to get up with you at night. And I love that she said it's a daily reminder of the love you share together. I just. All this romance, it's like this is all happy news.

A couple of weeks ago, we're talking about divorces.

So. So, you know what? The summer, you know, May. We're done with May. We're into June.

If he doesn't reach out or check in or whatever in a day or two. Yeah. That's not enough attention if we're in a relationship now. No.

True. I mean, let me ask you this, Let me ask you this. How about if they're less available? You know that old saying, oh, they're hard to get, so you want them more. Do you feel that way? No, I never really acknowledged that thought, but I think the chase is fun.

But if he didn't call, you noticed.

Yeah, but at the same time, the attention I want is not. Is not somebody calling me and talking about them in their life all the time.

No, it's the wrong kind of attention. But when he didn't call for a day or two or three, you were bothered by it, Am I right? I mean, that's human nature. Any woman in the world would think that way. I mean.

Well, I will tell you, as time has gone on, and I know you don't, you know, you've been busy, you haven't talked to your guy as much. The guy that I was dating very, for a very short period of time, I will say to you, the longer time goes on that I don't hear from him. I don't miss the attention because it wasn't that.

It's not there because you're not. If you don't think about them until they text or you hear from them, that tells me. Yeah, what does that Mean for me,

it means I'm just not that into them anymore.

Yeah, I don't either. I. You and I've talked about this. The older we get, it's, you know, we, like, sitting, drinking our coffee in the morning. Like, I don't want that kind of attention. You know, I don't want to hear reveille at 7am trying to get up. I don't want that kind of attention.

Well, do you feel like. Kathy, we are more attracted to people who like us and if they didn't, we wouldn't have noticed them anyhow.

They could get the idea that we have feelings or, you know, that we're into them just because we're giving them attention and because you're being flirty. My bad. Because I've given everybody attention and I always get attention. But that doesn' mean I want to hook up with you, Right?

Yeah. People read me wrong. Yeah, I think I'm. You and I are very similar in that way. We're both very friendly people. We're outgoing. But I think there's a difference. I've been out with women who, who crave attention and so they're flirty with every guy and then the guy wants their number and she gives them their number, but she has no intentions of going out with them. See, I. I don'. That kind of attention. I don't want to attract people that think I'm there for a hookup, a one night stand. That's. I don't want that kind of attention and I don't want to give off that vibe that that's what I'm looking for.

He cancels plans a few times last minute because something came up. And while he was always apologizing, it started to feel like I'm just fitting into his schedule, whatever space he has left. How do I bring this up without sounding unsupportive of his career? Oh, we're going to hear Kathy's point on this one.

Well, I think that you got two things going. Did you know I'd have Susan wait? Because I know you know. How did you know I was like.

Okay, here's what. Here's Faith, what I say to you, my dear friend, if a guy is canceling plans a few times last minute, the question you have to ask yourself is why? If he says to you, I have a budget that has to be in by midnight. That's fair. I think the question is why he's canceling last minute. And if it smells fishy, it probably is. So that's that. You have to. You have to judge the situation in the moment. Right? You can't just say, and if it's only a few times I've canceled, Susan, you've canceled plans.

Yes. Should happen. I think he should say like you're saying, I have to deadline or this guy. It's so annoying. But he moved the meeting to this time, right? But if he says constantly and he's not given an explanation, right.

If he tells you that he's. You're in Newport Beach. If he tells you he's lost on the 401 and, you know, he. You know, you might want to rethink that, so. Or the 10, you know, he's. Traffic.

Could she sit down and say it? Have a conversation. You know, us in communication. That's the key.

I mean, I think, yes, of course, she should have talked to him about it. But here's the thing, girlfriend. You, Faith, are a smart woman. If. If you're questioning if. If He's.

She said, how do I bring it up? She wants her.

If you want to bring it up, you bring it up. There's no magic here. You bring it up.

You just say, I want to talk.

You're not overthinking anything. My first thought that comes to mind. How is she with you? Does she try to tell you how to do things, too? Or does she try to keep you out of the decision making when it comes to her and her son? Or does she involve you? You?

I have always told my kids, look at how in my daughter, because I only have one.

I have to say to you, my husband hated pda, public displays of affection. Hated it.

Very rarely. He hate as we got older, but he hated. And I always loved it. I'm a touchy person, so it always. So I get it, Bryce. It made me feel badly, like he was embarrassed, but it isn't. Some people just are uncomfortable doing that. So you got to give your partner a little grace here and, you know, maybe have a talk with him and say, you know, if you could just hold my hand for five minutes, work into it gently. Because some people really are uncomfortable with public displays of affection.

And Bryce, I say yes, it is a red flag because obviously it doesn't work for you. Kathy may be right. And I think a conversation is indeed important because I wouldn't want to go around acting like that guy's just walking down the street and I just so happen to know him. If he's okay.

It was a text. And then at the dinner, I know I'm not interested. And I was new at it. And when he asked for the number to call to set up a date, I did give it to him. And then I blocked the number. I didn't want to deal with it.

Okay, Susan, the very short answer was, yes, I've done it. I have not. But I will tell you, I think the issue here is I, you know, I. You've seen me cry. I have the reputation of being this hard ass, but everybody has feelings. I have feelings just like everyone else. And I will say to you, I feel it is less painful to tell a man I'm not into him than to do give him a number and then not answer. So for me, that's what I do.

I always texted it it because I was a wussy and said, I'm sorry, I just don't feel, you know, what I should be feeling to move on.

But I will say to you, I. Again, I'm not a therapist, but I think there are a lot of stats out there that people don't like to be alone at the holidays, particularly cold.

[Susan]

You want somebody to snuggle with.

[Kathy]

I totally get a stuffed animal. That's when you.

[Susan]

The people get offline. The dating sites, all summer, September, October, November. All of a sudden they're flooded with all these extra people. Yeah, they want somebody that cuddled as far as meeting somebody and hanging out with them and then right before summer, break up with them. That sounds like a juvenile, more juvenile thing.

[Kathy]

Yeah, well, I, I don't think it has to do with. Personally, I don't think it has to do with the colder months. I think when Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year's holidays, people don't. Well, those specifically those holidays, I don't think Passover, Easter is as big a deal, but I don't think those, those end of year holidays carry such meaning for most people. And I'm not saying religious meaning. I'm saying people want to do gift giving. They want to have somebody kiss on New Year's Eve. It's a very paired up partner kind of visiting people.

[Susan]

And you get together with people. You like to have your significant other with you.

[Kathy]

Well, and I think it's just stronger at those holidays at the end of the year, I.

[Susan]

Did you ever want somebody and break up with them before summer comes?

[Kathy]

Susan, I just want somebody.

[Susan]

I've never done that.

[Kathy]

No, I. No, I would never do that. I mean, I don't. I.

[Susan]

Honestly, to me it reminds me of more of a college. Oh, I guess it is college things. That makes sense.

They want to be, I think, younger,

single, wild and free.

[Kathy]

Yeah.

They want their, you know, they want to be dumb.

[Kathy]

You know, that's. Wait, Sex on the beach.
