Welcome to the Baking it Down with Sugar Cookie Marketing podcast. We are your host today, Corey and Heather. And it's not made up. Our last name is Miracle. You've been blessed.
B
I did. We have. We recorded this and started over. So I want to include this part. Then somebody even. Why is it on your. If American Idol is listening to this, I want them to know.
A
Call me in high school, you'll never guess. Heather, who sings very low but has a high pitched voice, was put on the Sopranos. If you've never heard the word soprano before, it's not just a movie. It's that I'm a nice alto girl.
B
I have alto energy.
A
But you talk like this so I.
B
Could see where they got. I get where they were coming from. Yeah, but I'm an alto in my brain.
A
And when they took you from my side from the alto department and put you in the Sopranos department. Get me back to the alto. If you haven't heard of us before, we're actually a group that is on Facebook. The group is fantastic. Heather just wrapped up the October challenge, which was a photography challenge.
B
It was actually not a photography challenge. It's a content theme. Content theme. Right.
A
But a challenge to post some helpful tips and tricks.
B
Challenged me, that's for sure.
A
Challenged you. And a lot of people stepped up to the. What do you call it? Stepped up to the plate bat. Oh, the bat. The plate is a plate in the batting world.
B
Yes.
A
Stepped up to the plate and posted their own photography tips and tricks which I thought were absolutely great. Whether it be, you know, lighting sources that worked for them or Lightroom edits that they really liked.
B
It was fun. And I went through your external hard drive, which we talked about on last week's. I have to give you new content. Give me new content.
A
Do you have the drive? Can I take it with me today?
B
What are we going to use for gadget? Why don't you bring your computer? Oh, why can't you just let me take. Because I don't think I'll ever get it back. I know you know, I'm in a.
A
Purging area, area of my life. Area and area.
B
I want to let you guys know if you listen to last week's podcast, which was pre Halloween, I did promise Corey that I'd be setting up her bamboo and the girl has been a printing. Here's another.
A
I'm going to tell you the annoying.
B
Thing, my favorite part. It's all set up on my bamboo account. So whenever she presses print, it's like, congratulations, print Successful. So I open the camera. I'm in her house. I'm in her cookie room, and I see her little trembling fingers grabbed her build plate, saying, oh, we've got a new cutter. I got a new cutter.
A
Here's the thing. Heather just sends me a text, and I say, congrats.
B
What did you print? Then I realized, oh, I can actually see what you printed, but it's a blob. So I'm like, what is this? But then I opened it to see what it was, and I saw your little fingers. Yeah. You're taking it in excitement. So are you. I.
A
It's been the funnest thing. I'm just like, do I want to spit out a cutter room the next five minutes? Sure, why not? I will say, with it being in my cookie room, I would suggest not. Especially if you have an enclosed space. It does that. Smelling of melted plastic has a smell, and you don't want that to leach.
B
Into the cookies that you're. They have cases. So when. When you go up the tier of bamboo, you get these cases which help with the secondary thing. And you haven't experienced it yet because your room is so small.
A
Yeah.
B
Heat variances in the room. If you have a cold spot or hot. A hot spot. And it. Or a fan, it will great affect the print quality. Interesting. Right? And then also, Corey had an unstable table.
A
I did.
B
So that affects. There's a lot of things you gotta. And don't forget, you gotta spin three times, put your left foot in your left out and shake it all about.
A
But it's been I, I. My life has begun Everyone says, can.
B
You guys get bamboo into the vendy blending? No. They're a massive Chinese company. I don't think they care. That said, they're running their Black Friday deals right now, and it's up to 43% off.
A
So how much was the one you got me. It's a great starter one.
B
And it's compact right now. On sale, 200.
A
That's fantastic.
B
Right?
A
And you set it up. How long did it take you to set up?
B
15 minutes.
A
That's insane.
B
With my extreme technical prowess.
A
You do have more prowess than I do.
B
I don't. I just sit with problems.
A
And 10 seconds longer sit with them at all.
B
Right.
A
So it's been so fun.
B
It's been so fun.
A
And if you didn't hear it, the Sprinkle factory will be at the Vendee Blendy.
B
30% off.
A
30%. But we have signed up for her.
B
I paid full price.
A
The catalog thing yeah STL catalog And they're so stinking cute. I was just printing them off right with.
B
I know Corey was. Uh, that said let's jump into today's podcast topic. It's a bi podcast topic. We're gonna split two. We're gonna do. We're gonna talk about the vending blending cause that's what we're working on right now. But I also wanna talk about this private class we will be teaching on Thursday. But I wanna talk about the how we got the lead, how we cultivated the lead, how we set up how this goes and the prep work and then next week we'll talk about the Vendi Blendy part two and then we're also gonna talk about how that class went because I can already see.
A
Yes, yes.
B
Our problems is your life lesson.
A
I know and that's the reason why.
B
We said yes because we wanted to. We love problems.
A
To go into the problems and give you guys solutions.
B
So talking about the Vendiblani we got a great lineup.
A
We guys a great lineup.
B
I'm going to put this on a timer for 15 minutes so each part of the podcast has the same fair.
A
Advantage because we could go endlessly with how much here's what I tell you.
B
The this is the fifth year of the Venny Blenny and I think this is the fifth first year where people shops have heard of it before we came and Knockin which has helped us kind of secure some better, bigger, newer, fresher shops. Not that I don't love my old shops. My Vendy. My Vendys have more variety I would say crazily last year going through that list about half of those shops had closed. Yeah. Leaving us with a giant gap. So Corey said let's try to fill them up with new new shops cuz we have to. They're closed.
A
They're closed. And there was no way to reach out to them like the Etsy shop said no longer in existence. Yeah.
B
So Corey really took the challeng and has shot her shot. And if you guys should we talk about. I know we usually talk about how we marketed the Vendi blendy after it. I hate this but in terms of B2B in the cookie world most of it is on Instagram which I hate writing messages on Instagram. I know.
A
Here's the thing. Instagram is great for business growth so a lot of people are on there and a lot of people are active there. If we know anything about the inbox while it is the number one source for marketing because it's still chronological. A lot of our emails can end up in the spam folder.
B
And let me tell you this, let me tell you, I've been thinking about it. When you cultivate your audience, you're consistent and you do this over years, you can gain a decent following. So, okay, decent. Okay. What are we at on Instagram? 32,000 followers. Not nothing. Definitely hyper focused though. Hyper focused, right. It's not like I just bought. It would be easier to buy followers, but that doesn't lend itself to a cultivated targeted audience. But when you write a message on Instagram that social proof comes with the message, it's a click away to see.
A
Oh, are they, are they five by night?
B
Are they active yesterday? So, yeah, we'll talk about Vendee blending marketing, but right now I want to talk about what the Vendee Blendy is because you guys are going to love what's coming at you.
A
Cover the new shops that have signed up.
B
Okay. Where do you want to start? You tell me. Where's your heart leading you?
A
Okay, I'm going to just explain what the vending blendy is.
B
Can I also plug this amazing webpage I made? Yeah, it's sugarcookingmarketing.com forward/vendibunde and I update it multiple times each week. Yeah.
A
So on this website is everything you need and want to know about the Vendee Blendy. It's who's already signed up. So we're not telling you the maybe shops that are going to sign up because unless you sign on the data line, we don't want to like proclaim it and like have people disappointed. But the people who have filled out the form, they will be on there. Heather's updating it as they're signing up.
B
So it's very good.
A
So if you have a question about time zones and things like that. When does it start?
B
November 28th. Practice what we preach. Remember we said when people often ask a repetitive question over and over again, it's because they're missing your missing information. So we thought. Last year we didn't have a landing page, although I had the best laid plans of Mice and Men. This year I did because we had done the rebranding and the website lends itself to quick and easy drag and drop builder. So I said every question that we typically get, I'm going to add to this website. I'm going to make it highly informative. I'm going to add video, I'm going to add photo, I'm going to add explanations, definitions, vibes, yes.
A
Everything you need and want to know. Because we already know. It's an uphill battle because Heather has named this the Bendy Blendy. So if we tie it back to marketing in any form or fashion, it's already at a negative because it has a funky name.
B
But it also it's always that blend. Do you want to have it? Do you want a funky name that's memorable? Or do you want a name that's very common but hot, but highly competitive? I know.
A
But if you named it the Vendor Blender, it would have been easier to explain because not only do I have to say, have you ever heard of the vendor blending? It's one day sale for 24 hours.
B
We have to offer 25 off the names.
A
Weird. I know.
B
I'll tell you why Vendor Blender sounds like a government name. It's not fun. People get fired from the Vendor Blender.
A
But you understand what a vendor the.
B
Vendee Blendy Fun dreams are made, Happy times are had.
A
Yes. No long hours in the office.
B
Right.
A
Throwing a money ball around.
B
Ask me another how we know. So the landing page has been great. And if you guys are curious, yes. I am a huge proponent of running Google Analytics webmaster tools to track traffic. In the last 30 days, I think last three days we had an increase in traffic to 111% increase.
A
It makes sense because I think you.
B
Launched because we have a place and I'm plugging it constantly. The biggest takeaway, and we'll talk about this in the marketing edition of the Vendee Blendy is nobody reads there's no such thing as posting too much.
A
Yes, yes.
B
And then having a landing page to direct those people to to give them all the information they need.
A
Great.
B
So bringing that up. Here is the list. I'm pulling out my master list. Nobody's allowed to see this by my master list. Do I have access to this master list? Any Google sheet I've ever shared you in my life, you've never opened.
A
I just like to know I have access if I were to want to open it.
B
I will share it with you when you do. Not currently. Yeah, this year. Funny. If you guys use Google Sheets, my little asterisk, you can have Google Sheet. Okay, so this is my master sheet. Nobody can have access to it, but I have to share the vendor's information with them. But I also have to keep a third sheet for everybody to be able to see how to keep the data the same across. The three of those can get get complex. Especially when the vendors start changing what their submissions originally were. So what I initially do is I set up a jot form. I gather way too much information. It's overwhelming. But I don't want to have to ask them for more and more. So it's all in one form. Then I use Zapier.
A
This is part of the marketing part. This needs to be on the marketing podcast.
B
I'm sorry. It's juicy. It's juicy.
A
It's fantastic.
B
Okay. We go backwards to forwards.
A
Sure.
B
We actually just had a new vendor sign up this year. Cake ball. And by Gina. If you are interested in cake balls, Corey said, if we have Daisy makes, we have to get Gina.
A
The thing is, Gina has one. She has a fantastic course if you're trying to get into cake balls. And this is a course that I took that she offers and explains how to, like, roll, dip, things like that. But she also is a recipe developer.
B
That's what you said. And we were talking about Gina this weekend and said, you said, I've never seen someone so consistent with their output in cake balls as Gina is.
A
If you look at her cake balls and cake pops, they. They look gorgeous. They're beautiful to stare at.
B
Her photography is crazy with those because they're so perfect.
A
She's really good at color coordinating. Like, really colors that complement each other. And then.
B
And Gina doesn't know we're talking about her. She has this, like, set style where there's like, four variations, but they all fall within the same color palette and design.
A
Yeah.
B
Very neat. She just signed up. She's actually offering more than 25%. She'll be offering 30%. Nice. Very nice. Coming back this year. She didn't think she would. She pulled some strings. She talked her husband into it. Designer cookies.
A
A lot of people asked for her.
B
We did. And we shot her shot with her because she did not think she could.
A
Make the numbers work.
B
And then I did one Hail Mary pass. And I said, tell me, girl. Tell me now. Tell me now. I said, but could it be a Vendee blendy without you? And she was like, I knew it was going to be a no.
A
Yeah.
B
And she was like, let me talk to my husband. Yeah. Gather 25% off designer cookies back again this year. And actually a big reveal because you guys think her shop has closed. She has rebranded Yali's Yummies. Could be Yoli.
A
I'm not sure you'll list is what I've always said.
B
Excuse me. It could be Yolis.
A
I don't know. Her big Etsy shop had closed down. She's remade the shop but it's brand new now. But she's filling it up every day.
B
25% off. You guys wanted her, you were sad she left, you still got her. And I'm here to connect you again. Yes, it is a different Etsy shop. It is this one. Interesting. Corey closed her eyes and hit send on a message because she was like, it'd be really cool to get some dye free options for these people. You guys wanted it, you guys got it. Prism Sugar Co 25% off.
A
Listen, I, I can't believe they signed up.
B
One Adam.
A
First off, shout out to Adam.
B
Adam said, Corey was like, you know, she, it's this really funny message and she writes in and it's like hey. And it's like I'm sweating mine. Right? It's very funny. Right? But instead of the typical questions where people are like, well, can you whine and die me? He was like, where, where do I sign up?
A
And I was like that. I said there's no way Adam's gonna sign up. He didn't ask any questions about what does bendy.
B
I said, bam. He signed up.
A
Then he signed up.
B
It was crazy.
A
So this is die free which is huge. And if you've seen on it, two bakers actually formulated it. The husband's behind the scenes with the Etsy shop and things like that. But they've done a fantastic job. And if you look up minis on Facebook or Instagram, you can see how she's using them and they don't look any different from anything else.
B
So it's talented. It's crazy. Get it? He's doing 100 gift card to the shop as. I'm sorry, a hundred dollar cordless airbrush gun.
A
Oh nice.
B
Very nice. Heartwar cookie coat. Now if there is, if there is a decorating video that ends up in my fe from Hearthstone, Cookie Co completely on its own. Not because I sought it out. Heartwar Cookie Co's videos are a good watch. She does, I don't know, she's as.
A
Sweet as her cookies and she has a cutter shop.
B
And I said, Jessica, I don't know.
A
If you've ever heard of the video before, but I don't even know if you've ever heard of me before.
B
Have you ever heard of Sugar Cookie?
A
I've been in the group for years. I would love to join.
B
Very good. Yeah. So Heartworm, this is her first year. She's offering 25% off. Let me see.
A
She was like, like a very elegant style, a very fancy style. So I love those cutter options to very, like, stand out.
B
She's doing it overpriced. She's gonna let me know what that is. Don't worry. I hound these vendies. They love me and hate me at the same time. Karentology is back again this year. You know her by her boxes.
A
Her boxes. Great for, like, real estate agent boxes.
B
But now gingerbread boxes.
A
Yeah. And she had Halloween boxes.
B
She has Christmas boxes. It's. If you want a box, let's say you take a heartwarming. Let's say you do Miller's White Class. You buy a heartware cutter, and then you apply it to a Karen Gordon Karentology box. You're going to have quite the aesthetic. Now, here is a one. The pinch hitter. I don't even know what that means.
A
Pinch hitter.
B
Heather used a big word with me today. Juxtaposition.
A
Juxtaposition.
B
It seems like two words. We were on a baseball thing. I don't remember that was that first edition. A substitute batter who replaces another player in a baseball game, often to bat in a critical situation where the better hitters need it. Oh, this is.
A
That was.
B
That was the end of my baseball.
A
That was it.
B
Knowledge.
A
Yeah. Home run.
B
Maybe. Maybe this will be a home run. Only you guys can determine that. Kaleida Cuts. Corey said, actually, no. I'm sorry.
A
Right?
B
I did this.
A
I, I, I knew I couldn't handle the no, and I for sure thought we were gonna get a no. And Heather said, I'm gonna try. And I said, you do your.
B
And you know why? It's because Kaleida Cuts lady is actually Heather's and us. Heather's. We know. Yeah, we know.
A
There is a. And I needed to send my. What are you. What did you do? The word you just made up.
B
Juxtaposition.
A
You're my juxtaposition.
B
Pinch hitter.
A
You're my pinch hitter. Pinch hitter.
B
Right. They needed the better batter. And Heather.
A
Better batter. Better batter.
B
Twin swing. Bada batter. So 25% off. Nice and bold statement here. From what I understand, Kaleidocats does not run 25% off.
A
Not that I've seen, my friend.
B
Not that I've seen. You guys can get her during the vendi blendy for 25% off. And let me tell you, it cost me a little bit to swing that for you guys. Swing Matabata back again. You love her. The purple lady herself. Bobby's.
A
Bobby.
B
I know some of you guys are like, where is she? Is not a baby blend. And I said, bobby, don't make me break hearts. Bobby girl. Bobby. Boo. Bobby. Bobby. She was like, I've been busy. I'm in. I'm back. So Bobby's cutters is in a new one this year. Be Still Bakery.
A
Okay. Be Still Bakery is a. She does online classes. So if you want to up your royal ice and game what she makes. Mind boggling. Mind blowing. It's fantastic. So if you would like to learn. She does a lot of hand painting. A lot of like starting from white and then you turn it into a color. Like the whole thing looks hand painted.
B
Crazy fantastic. Back again. Actually told me she couldn't be back and then signed up with no explanation. Love that energy. The fewer words the better. Sweetest tears. And you know our buyer stencil holder.
A
Yeah, the sweetest tier stencil holder. Great for pyos. Fantastic for pyos. If you're getting a number of like you're having like a few dozen and you don't have any and you're not printing. You need some sort sort of holder. And this is my favorite.
B
It's weighted. Oh, nice. Very, very sturdy. I've heard great things. I've year after year. I think this might be her third year new this year. Corey's talking about them already. Sprinkle Factory. It is an STL library and it is very, very cute.
A
I'm gonna tell you.
B
Stinking adorable. Corey can say that now. She's been printing cutters. It's within her realm to now have a vote on SDL libraries new this year as well. Liz Viz.
A
Liz Viz. Okay. I've ordered it from her for a million years. She has a giant chop and it's and easy to do designs. So I've just excited that she signed on. She does a lot of themed things. So like her Thanksgiving set is cute and then a Christmas set is cute.
B
Very, very cute. I always love it when new people like go more than they. This was like 30% off.
A
Oh, and I cannot wait.
B
Love it. New this year, Rebecca Bivens. She's actually a member of the cookie college and she started an STL shop for like holding your gel colors.
A
Yeah. So like all the extra with accoutrement that you need. So is there a scraper there? Like an icing scraper?
B
It's kind of very much that vibe. All that extra stuff, all that you would be like, how do you make this? Yeah, like a holder, sugar art gel colors, a sprinkle funnel tray. A lot of cookie cutters as well. She's also running 30 off a digital download. Cookie easel. You know where they do that for the displays and stuff. Cookie cutter, STL transfer sheet. So a lot there. She's also running 30 off. Nice. Love that she is new. New this year as well. An extracts company. Company called Uncommon Extract.
A
Yeah.
B
And we thought that would be fun because you guys love extract. Yeah.
A
Especially like cake people. This one's a big one for you. So I thought she has quite a few tasty looking ones.
B
We have caramel, vanilla, lemon, vanilla, orange, vanilla. We have. And then she's actually. Oh, cinnamon. Very good. Yeah. Mint chocolate. I'm a mint chocolate girl. Like fire me in the back if you disagree. Scribes by Shoals is back again if you need a scribes fix. She's running 35% off.
A
Very themed ones.
B
Very themed. Very cute. New this year, Ochre Mountain cookies.
A
This one I also a shop I've ordered from a bazillion of times and I said I would love this shop.
B
Corey was like, do you want to sign up? And then she was like, what is it? And then Corey went to bed, obviously because that's what she does at 2pm And I was like, oh, hey, here's what it is. And she was like, here you go. I was like, whoa, I thought you're gonna make me work for it.
A
I did make a collage. If you've ever seen my thank you cutter that I make for my. That is from her shop.
B
You guys always ask Corey where she gets that. It's a long vertical thank you cutter and it pops off the page. It's a really great car cookie. Yeah, it's a car cookie. Speaking of, speaking of, we're having the thank you cookie collab, which I'll talk about in a minute.
A
But that is I made a collage and it was all these thank yous that I've made throughout the year. And I said thank you for considering.
B
And I want you guys to know if you want to see what the collage it is a cover photo for the thank you cookie collab in the event section. I was like, that's great for this.
A
Can I have.
B
Can I. Can you send me the high res, please? Of course. Corey sends it through a locked icloud share. I said I want you to beg back again. Is it a vendee blendy without this couple of Sugar Dash Co. Sugar Dash.
A
Co. Has a ginormous shop.
B
I want to tell you, Sugar Dash Co. They're allowed to make two sales posts and one video post. Sugar Dash Co. Won an award. They get an extra post this Year but they been in the video post. Most. Most shops don't want to go live. You know it is hard to go live. They not only do they go live, there's games involved.
A
Hilarious. They're a dynamic duo. The thing I love about their shop is how it is if you have a obscure theme, they probably have something to do with it in their shop.
B
30%.
A
Oh, love that.
B
Back again this year. Lollies custom cutters as Bambi Bentley. You know where you love her 50% she changed.
A
She used to be a physical cutter shop. Now it's an STL library or stl.
B
I mean I don't think it'd be a. I think it's STLs.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't think she is a library. I like the ability to just pick and choose. As of 2 days ago. Pick and choose. Yeah. But it makes sense.
A
Yeah.
B
You mean okay, like sprinkle factory out of the sale is 150. So it's not change at all. Absolutely. So yeah. Being able to just pick. Love it. The cook here is back again. You guys always ask 25% off. She is in partnership. She also has her own cutters but in partnership with Ms. Cookie Packaging who's running 50% off her classes. Sorry, what did I say? You said Ms. Cookie. I got a long list in here.
A
I want you to. Also on the packaging note, the cookery sells a lot of packaging. So I, I did a video the other day. She has these fold over things. Her designs are super stinking cute. So she does greaseproof backers, fold over ones, tags and things like that.
B
Grease proof backers. You guys heard it here first. I'm always getting asked about that.
A
But she has a ton of cutters too.
B
So don't sleep. Miller's wife teaches classes that the cutters the cookery sells.
A
Yeah, love that.
B
She also won an award last year. She did. She was wondy Blendy award. Crazy.
A
Crazy girl.
B
Yeah. If you guys don't know what I'm talking about. Yes. There's so many door prizes for the pendies turned spendies. But within these vendies there's a couple of vendies who just shine bright like small diamonds. And we award them an extra post in the next year and waive their entry fees.
A
And then at the end of this year we will have a Vendy's awards again.
B
We will. And it's my favorite part. Cake mockery designs. First year.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay.
A
Obviously you can tell I've ordered from these shops before and that's why I'm Going for the shops I've ordered from.
B
There's a little report there. Yeah, I know. So the.
A
The cake mockery designs has the stinking cutest. If you were looking for like single mini cookie backers, that's what she has. She also has tags and things like that. So small little tags. Her designs are stinking adorable. I wish I could live in a brain for like 24 hours and just, I don't know, like information like that.
B
But I like that they think like that.
A
We actually tried to get her last year and we got her. Tried to get her a month before and she's like, listen, I don't have that much stock that I could actually like devote some time in, like product to it. But I said, we're coming back to you next year.
B
She came back. Yeah.
A
I'm so excited for.
B
I'm so excited. Back again, Coastline Designs. If you're looking for like custom printed bags. So these bags are deep. Deep bags. So you're thinking. I'm think you're thinking reasonable trash bag. No, this is a purse.
A
This. And you can have your name on it. And it sprinkles theme. It's deep. Great for cookie classes. If you have to bring a lot.
B
Of things, it's very cute, very branded, very neat little patterns. Amy Beaver is actually back as two companies this year. You know her as the Baking Beavers. But they've also launched Baker's Suite, which is a kind of all in one order processing, tracking, marketing, inventory. Yeah. You guys were asking about some options. What are the two companies that closed? Cast Iron. And what was the other one from? Our Diaries. Baked Diaries. So they launched us after Baked Diary closed and I think it's a great looking substitute. Yeah. She's given me a link to make a video review about it and I got to do that. Equinox Pastry supply. Back again, 25% off. Thank you for coming. Denn Kara Creative. If you are an Eddie. An Eddier.
A
It's print files, right? Print files with the cut.
B
Like it all matches.
A

B
Casey Carter actually won a Vendy Award because she was quite the one. I think she won the marketing. I think she pushed it a lot. Oh, that's great. Mixer skirt. And she was Like I'm moving. I'm running 40% off a mixer skirt.
A
So the mixer, she actually sent me one.
B
I have to make a video about it.
A
And it keeps your ingredients in your mixer bowl, which if you've ever worked with powdered sugar, you know, it ends up outside the bowl at any given time.
B
This keeps it clean. And I'm a clean girly myself. Yes. I'm a. I'm a cloud thinking about this. I would bake. I don't bake, but if I did, I'd clean as I go.
A
Go. Yeah.
B
Yeah. Are you.
A
I sometimes depends on what I'm making.
B
Yeah, there's. Some people are like our older sister is. Put the dishes in the sink and think about it in a couple days.
A
Okay. I'm more of a put it in the sink, put water on it to start in the dawn. Dish soap to start breaking it down a little bit. But then when I'm done, everything gets clean.
B
I like that. The thought of making a meal. And yes, I've made food. I know everyone doesn't realize, but I.
A
Want to say for you, making a single person meal is a lot more difficult.
B
Yeah. Ton of leftovers. Yeah. Ginormous and yeah. They don't make the portions in a crock pot. To my side.
A
My husband looks at every meal as a challenge.
B
Also a stressful point because Corey cannot get leftovers. He eats them all. He thinks the leftovers.
A
Oh, if you make a casserole, it'll last for days. It's pennies on the dollar. No, it's one meal.
B
We're both fighting different battles.
A
Yeah.
B
But they're very similar. What I the thought of having to eat my meal that I'm very excited about and clean up, I can't do that. So I really try to clean up as I'm going so I don't have to. So I can sit down. This, me, this meal, we're just together for as long as I want to be. Wella cookie cutter co. So this she sells 30% off.
A
Loved it. But she also sent sells the physical watermarks that you see in a lot of people's videos. Yeah, I still have mine.

A
Oh, that's great.
B
But I'll have to check. Yeah, actually, let me check. I got it right here, kids. She's in for a door prize. I'm thinking a set of coordinating cutters, scribe and whatever else I can dig up valued at $50.

A

B
She has said it all.
A
I need someone to take my finger. Deb. Okay.
B

B
Is that the biggest bee?
A
Big green bee.
B
I want to tell you the funny part is their last name is Baker so it's not a. It's like a play on words. But it's Caleb who's kind of the one. She always signs them up, but I think she's kind of running the show. She's running the show. Yeah. She was on my whole life last time I did it back again. A
You know, I'm gonna push for you. This is flavored powdered sugar. Fantastic if you're trying to add a little zhuzh, if you're doing cakes. But if you're also doing royal icing, it's fantastic that way too.
B
I love it. Christine's malts. Now you guys are going to start to see what I've been announcing in the group as well, because I think we're going backwards through this list and I'm working the bottom.
A
Christine molds, correct me wrong. Canadian based.
B
Canadian based. It's 35 off.
A
But you can order from her regardless. Anywhere, I do believe at least.
B
United States, States shipping option. All 50 US states, Canada, Africa, Europe, Asia, South America. So she ships everywhere, but she has Canadian based.

B
I did not find it, but Dessert Depot does. Here it is. It's so funny. Maybe I missed it on there, but.
A
I know, but I'm just saying she has it there.
B
That's if you were wondering.
A
And she sells the samples for Bakedy Bake on there too.

B
You complain about them a lot.
A
Yeah, it's a learning curve for sure. These have made it so much easier.
B
Love that for us. Baking Me Crazy sponsor the podcast. Get 25. Yes.
A
Nice.
B
She had a really cute website.
A
Sprinkles and things like that. If you need any of the the. Does she sell gel food coloring on there? Is it a miracle that specifically is what I'm asking for.
B
She sells too, actually. Her best seller is a Maricolor and sugar art gel colors and powders, which is.
A
I love the sugar art powders is what I use mostly for the black and the blue.
B
Oh, blueberry. Oh, black.
A
The problem is you need so much dye to turn the icing black.
B
Except for if you doesn't have to develop as well.
A
Sugar art does need time to develop, otherwise you'll get speckles. But if you let it develop, it.
B
Will turn dark black because otherwise it's like a gray that I hear people complain about dark black and bright red a lot.
A
Absolutely.
B
Just in the color theory world.
A
Yeah.
B
Sweet pink olive. If you were thinking about the cookie college cookie class kits, she's running 30 off on all those cutters and all.
A
Those collections and she has a ton of cutters. She has stencils, everything like that.
B
She has an airbrush as well.
A
If you would like to know my history with her, since apparently I have.
B
History with all these people.
A
One of the first cutter shops I ever ordered from in my life.
B
Like, no, I thought that was the.
A
First cutter you ordered and it was animal crossing cutters. And I found them. She had only two things on her Etsy shop.
B
I love crossing something else. An Animal Crossing fan. January 15th. Temi's back again at Tasty Tin. She's got some really neat seasoning blends. I've heard they go great on popcorn. I put them on salmon. They're great gift. They're great gift. And she's got some cool little set. She's actually says she's dropping some more stuff just for the vend.
A
Me and Timmy go back is I found her in a photograph food photography. And I took her with me.
B
Yeah. So she's been our surrogate cook in the cookie group. She always holds it down for cooks. Miller's wife is back again this year. She was a vibe. She also won a Vendy award for being the vibe. She's running 50% off.
A
Remember the cookie in the comments said her color guide.
B
That's what she said is her bestseller. Yeah. So 50% off the color guide.
A
I'm not good at that. If it's not bright pink and bright white, I don't grab for it. I don't have muted color knowledge.
B
Color theory is a theory.
A
I don't.
B
Eugene Do Sheeters. 10% off. We've had an agreement with you because you guys voted. He said, I can only do this if you let me run 10% off. But I don't run 10% off anytime. So this would be the time to get it. We said Eugene. And to make up for the fact that he's not doing 25% off, he gives away a a brand new electric dose shooter.
A
So he has two kinds, manual and electric. Fantastic. Fantastic. If you're trying to up. If you are a one person show and you're like, I need to do more in my time.
B
If you have wrist pain.
A
Oh, for sure.
B
Yeah. I see a lot of people saying like, wow, this would greatly help. Like I'm having that pain. We have cookie cutters. Binary now she's a vibe. Yeah. So we're giving away to the 3,000th penny, which will be today. It'll actually probably happen before this podcast is posted. We're giving a 100 Kaleidocuts gift card. She sees that. She sends me an email on Saturday.
A
And she's like, to the 33,500.
B
Yeah. The 3,500th person. I'll give a 150 gift card to Cookie Cutters by now. That's insane. Love it. So you guys are hearing that here first, one thing I love, Better shop.
A
She has piping bags, she has perforated mats, she has a ton of cookie cutter. She's not just cookie cutter, she's cookie stuff stencils. She's an all encompassing shop. But I love that her shop is large.
B
Corey loves a large shop. She loves her big old girl shop. Sweet bite app is back again this year by app.
A
If you're looking for cookie cutter storage accountability and tracking, that's what she is.
B
And a lot of you guys complained about that. This could be the solution. And it's 33% off. And I think there might be be a steeper subscription or there's an annual subscription as well. So that's 33 off monthly and 25 off annually. Lizzy Roband is back again with cook your prints at 25 off. Now she's an STL library as well for you guys with your 3D printers.
A
I'm ready, girl.
B
I'm ready. Go around before you walk. Bougie Baker. You heard on the podcast a couple weeks ago. She is back again with 25 off. Ship's lightning fast. Granted, we do live close, but I still think she ships.
A
And if you were wondering, Sugarloaf Mountain Designs. Prior Vendy closed her shop, sold the designs to Bougie Baker for those DIY kits.
B
So those cute DIY kits, I think we had her hold them up on the podcast if you want to go to the YouTube channel. Delta sprinkles are only sprinkle 30% off. So she's holding down the fort, which is great.
A
Sprinkle options. Very cute, very pretty, very nice, very themed, very holiday.
B
Your jimmies are wrestled with Katie Ams.
A
Jimmy.
B
I'm not sure if that's an appropriate. I don't know what it means. I know it's a type of sprinkle though.
A
Jimmy.
B
Yeah, Amy Beaver. Like I said, the baking beaver. She's running 25% off. So again, remember she's the baker suite, which is that software. And then she's also her cooking cutters that are very well labeled. She actually labels them in the cut handle. Yes, very neat. And she does that two tone thing. I'm sure any tape.
A
I'm sure that can't be cheap.
B
Amanda Lasser is back with Brighton cutters. You guys begged. She came in at 30%. She Vibe my vibe.
A
She does nestled sets.
B
Nested. Yeah, she nested. And then she does like grids. She calls them something.
A
Yeah.
B
She does.
A
Yeah. If you do. I, I love her shop. It's beginner friendly and it's more advanced. She sells a ton of plaques and those nested sets are fantastic if you need minis. True giant size sizes.
B
Heather King is back again with, you know, the Heathers one smart cookies and craft. She's actually the first Vendee shine up. So by default she'll win a Vendy award.
A
Good job, Heather.
B
Good job. The fastest to draw the fastest. And we have Heather and Corey Miracle at the cookie college. And I was actually the first sign up because I had to test the form which we'll talk about in marketing. So the Vendy blenny is only four weeks away. We have, we're shooting. Our goal was 60 Vendys this year and we're definitely on track for that by the end of this week.
A
Week, yeah.
B
It will be a fun week and then we'll add a couple more after that. But keep it real tight and strong. Don't want any shops closing on us. I want everyone to get their orders. Yes. Because if I tell you, hey, these are great shops, I want you to be able to trust that. I'm telling you, we got a great group.
A
We got a great girl.
B
It was a great group. So for the next couple weeks we'll be running some giveaways and some door prizes and some hype and some memes. It'll be a little spammy. Yeah.
A
But I want to say you could help us spam by inviting other bakers.
B
You know, don't do that just yet because I'm doing a giveaway for that. I'm going to change one of the entry questions to say who referred you. Oh, I love that. And if. And I'll pick somebody from the referred by to win a door prize. I'm sorry, a high prize I guess.
A
Is what double by letting them do it now and later.
B
But I want them to get credit.
A
Little credit.
B
Little credit.
A
Minutes are on our timer.
B
We ended about 10 minutes ago.
A
Oh, are you kidding me? Yeah.
B
I don't know. Maybe that wasn't enough time.
A
That was crazy.
B
We were barely through the list when we were checking. Oh my goodness.
A
I thought it was going to ring or something. No. Okay, well, let's move on to our second topic. This is are prepping for this private class. This isn't me and Heather's first private class. We've done, we've done one for children and we've actually hosted these bunch of teenagers but we had them come to us versus friends. Go to them.
B
I'd prefer to do a private class in the venue that we typically use. However, they wanted to do this private class on Thursday and the venue is actually a functioning business. On Thursdays I went kicking, yelling and screaming. How did you find this lead? Now the lead is Mary.
A
The lead is Mary.
B
Mary.
A
Here's the thing. Me and Heather have my mixing bowl cookie company is just where I typically sell customs and we have sugar cookie classes where we do the classes. This is a great idea because I cross promoted. I said on mixing bowl, hey, sign up for my classes. Mary came through me through an Instagram dm. Okay, I saw you teach classes. Do you teach private classes?
B
You may be thinking, are you girls telling me to separate out these two? I'm going to say don't. Yeah, I want to say we do it because I'm not affiliated with Corey's customs business. I am affiliated with sugar cookie classes. So that's why we split it up. However, if you are a one man band, you are both.
A
So yeah, the reason is because Woodbridge and McLean. Woodbridge where people come to pick up custom orders and McLean where people go to classes is very far away from each other.
B
I'm going to say on a good day with no traffic, 35 minutes on a bad day. Two years. Yes, two years.
A
So it was, it made sense for us to divide it because those classes have always been over in the McLean Fairfax area area versus me kind of over in Woodbridge. So we separated them out. Not saying, suggesting just how it worked for us.
B
How it worked for us. Now sugar cookie classes will also get messages for private classes, but more often it's for private corporate classes. Okay, so we got Mary and she wants to do a private friends class. Okay. Have we had people come to our classes and ask to do this? Yes, I have. I had. Yet Mary changed my tune. Seen anyone able to do it. So what we did, we gave Mary two options. Options. And one was generous on our part. We allowed her to just say pay up front and then you find the people, then we can schedule immediately. Yeah, because I still don't want to book until I'm paid. Or I can set up an eventbrite listing. You can set it to private, give her a private link and then she can get the friends to sign up which saves her if anybody cancels.
A
Yeah, she's not out the lump sum. So the problem putting it all on Mary is that if she paid the lump sum now she's forced to get people to come to this class or she's out the money.
B
But if she paid the lump sum, I wouldn't have had to pay processing fees and Eventbrite fees. Absolutely. Okay. So Corey and I said, we're doing it for the podcast. Let's allow the Eventbrite with the Eventbrite fees. I set up a private listing for her, limited it to 10.
A
We also said, let's test the Eventbrite thing because it'll allow anyone to add on a DIY kit, which only one person did.
B
Mary did. Mary. Right. So the interesting thing was one lady got too crazy and accidentally bought two tickets and didn't want to buy one. But she was able to process her own refund. However, I did it for her and realized she actually still owed her fee. We lost the fees.
A
Yeah.
B
So her own mistake. I didn't make the money. She didn't get the money back. So that was something to keep in mind. I thought was interesting. Mary ended up selling the event out. I emailed her every other week. Yeah. So this is about two months ago that she started this. We had to do the setup. She went to our cookie class kits collage and picked the one she wanted. Wanted. She picks the one. You're shaking bottle, my girl. I wouldn't say or anything. I just heard it's not knocking. Okay, keep going. So she ends up picking up the 2023 Thanksgiving class is what she ends up going out. Set it all up, set up the 10 tickets. And she was slow at the beginning.
A
I want to say so to make this worth it. A lot of times when people come to come to me and Heather and say, do you offer private classes? They want me and Heather to fill a private class for them or they want to have four or fewer members. That doesn't make it worth it for two people teaching the class. What I came to Mary was I gave her a stipulation. I can teach a private class. Here's the stipulations. You must meet. I'm not discounting it at all for you, so.
B
And if you guys are wondering, because a lot of people are like, well, if it's their friends, I could. We did not. That's the test.
A
At the end of the day, me and Heather could open a Thanksgiving class and fill it up. So why would I want to take a hit on price pricing if I didn't have to? There is wiggle room, though. If you were like, well, I'm kind of new to this. I would love to do it in people's homes.
B
If you have a really high venue fee or you have a venue that takes a profit of sales, then you can work with that. Yeah, sure, sure. Because I would have incentive to do a private class inside the house. However, that's not my favorite setup myself.
A
So me and Heather said it's 85 per ticket. Here's what you get. Here's how long the class is. Also Mary, if you do not get first, I told her 10 people to sign up. And Heather felt guilted and said eight people.
B
I went back and said 10. That's my bad. I shouldn't have done that.
A
Yeah.
B
However, we said you had to sell 10 tickets and you had to sell them by a certain date, which was long before. It was about two weeks before her class. Yeah. Because we wanted to ensure that if we could cancel it, I'd had to process those refunds.
A
Absolutely.
B
And that if we had a go, we could lock in everything.
A
Here's what we don't.
B
Don't want.
A
Mary at the end of the day is a client. So while Mary is doing a bunch of this brunt work alongside me and Heather filling her class. What we don't want is Mary to only get seven tickets sold. We're having to cancel the class two days before the class. And now all her friends are coming over and they have nothing to do. Mary will be unhappy with that.
B
So here's what the big takeaway is this. Give yourself enough run time to understand that Mary's fighting the same battle you are to sell your classes, but also to get give send intermediary updates.
A
Checking in with.
B
And I said, absolutely. Days left until get sales stop, which you can stop the sales on November. Eight days left until your class. And I sent her updates with who had registered because again, they're her friends. And then I sent her always, and I prefer to do this always, a recap of what our agreement was at the bottom. And it's nothing like. And here's what you signed. It was like. And just to recap, here's everything we know about your class.
A
What that's doing is keeping Mary on the nose of marketing her own class. We don't want to get to a week before class. And she's like, yeah, I've only had four people. Life's been busy. Listen, life's been busy for everybody. I promise you that staying on top of Mary while she is a client and she is your partner in marketing is going to be the best bet. So you don't get to today.
B
You're not the bad guy, and you're.
A
Not the bad guy. And she's like. But please, I just promised him.
B
I don't know. Seven is close to 10.
A
Yeah, absolutely. Because you got to know your numbers. And even though we're not paying a mark, we're not paying any venue for this. We're not doing any marketing ourselves for. For this. It there is a number that if we drove out to Mary's house, we would be taking a hit.
B
Yes. If it was too low. Right. So we're only doing this because of podcast because otherwise I don't enjoy private in home classes. Some of you guys do love that for you. Now here's where I see. Now here's where the. And I said Mary just to go. And Mary has actually never confirmed this design is exactly what she wants. But I have attached it in every email just to confirm your design is attached matched. I can't get her to say that.
A
What's so funny is we sent her the cookie class kits. Has been going on for three years. There's three years worth of classes. That's 36ish classes to choose from and three Thanksgiving classes.
B
And she says the one she said, the pie slice. The pie class, they all have pies.
A
Yeah. That's so funny. So I said, Heather, unfortunately she just used the word the pie class. I said, we need to confirm that it's this class because I'm going to bake the cookies. I want to make sure she's having.
B
Exactly what she ordered.
A
Heather has already said, can you confirm that this is a class? Mary almost breezed over that question.
B
She's very excited to sold this out. What's going to happen? And I'm willing to run this risk because I have, I have switched the class curriculum as people are showing up to class and people don't remember what they even signed up for. They just are there to have a good time. So will it be a Thanksgiving class with a pie slice? Yes, I'm willing to risk it. However, if I was had any sort of anxiety, I could have leaned into it hard. But what I actually wanted from Mary, which was hard to get her to send us well, was a picture of the space we'd be using. Yeah, that will be the problem.
A
Here's the thing. In this Northern Virginia area that we live in, you either have a new house or an old house. There's like no in between. So the houses that were built in the 70s and 80s are very small.
B
Rooms with big furniture. So you see the problem is we got a formal dining room with 10 chairs. That's what she sold us. But Each of those chairs is around a table. The factor being how can they. Where are we in this?
A
So her table will fit her and her friends, right? It will not fit Heather and I.
B
There will be no access to a tv. I hate not having access to a tv.
A
Yeah.
B
So what we decided, small folding table. If you ever watch a podcast, is what Corey sits at. You can get it at Walmart. It was like 10 bucks. I'm going to bring the document scanner from Ipevo. If you guys ever wonder. I'm going to hook it up to my laptop and have it display Corey's decorating. Now they'll have to turn around. Somebody will not be able to see that. They'll have to look over. But at least they won't have to stand. Stand up.
A
I guess when they're looking at the. Your, your screen. Yes. They can see it that way. And who is ever nearest me, wherever I'm standing, can just look. Can look at there.
B
Hopefully they're gonna get the best view.
A
Yeah. The thing is, Mary didn't give us any grace in giving us a wide angle. So we have like a panel of a, of a table and then for some reason a picture of a kitchen.
B
So Corey's gonna live decorate. We don't have the TV, so there's no PowerPoint. But she's printing, printing off the playlist. They are printed and she's going to put them in front of people. So that's the best we can do. I think it's going to be a bit of a struggle.
A
It'll be a bit.
B
Oh, but you're giving me those little, those decorated displays.
A
Yes. And that's what I'm doing. So instead of the PowerPoint, which actually because our last class we taught in person, I forgot to bring the laptop with the PowerPoint. It worked well this way, so it's like almost like a dry run.
B
You're welcome. Well, we did decorating that a stand up. But now I'll bring it on the laptop. Just see if it works. Corey said do it only if you want to be able to say you did it on the podcast. So I think I wanted to tell you guys that I did it.
A
Yeah, so we told Mary. Mary's having the people there.
B
Keep in mind though, we're plugging things in it. I bought the IPV camera that has a standalone battery, but my, my laptop also must last. It's always the fact it is control because Mary's not thinking, where's they gonna.
A
No, absolutely I would. If I was Mary, I would Never think that either.
B
But Mary, she sent me a picture of her kitchen, which I thought was interesting because there's no way that we could use the kitchen and teach a class.
A
And it's because the dining room is closed off by just a small door way.
B
This is. I'd prefer to DJ glass an open floor plan. Yeah, that's not always the case. So it's part of. And of course part of the challenge. It's part of the podcast. Yeah. We'll have to maneuver what Mary gives us now. Here. Here's. If you guys want to know another issue, I prefer to. I don't prefer people not know how the sausage is made. I want to set up and have people arrive. No, she's actually having a chili cook off. A chili cook off during our setup time, which is what it is. Which means people will be coming and going to that right room and I'll have to kick them out.
A
But we have. We've been able to juggle people why we set up before. People who got so excited and showed up early. Granted, it's nice to come into a room that's already laid out, ready to go.
B
It looks so much better.
A
It looks so much better versus being.
B
Like, oh, you just pulled that out.
A
Of a black bag.
B
Yeah. So we'll have to see. We'll teach the class on Thursday at 6:30. So we're getting there at 5:30 and.
A
I need to be here.
B
Are you coming from here? I have to do the math. Okay. Because I have to see. She lives in Fairback somewhere, so it's.
A
Not too far away.
B
So that was how we did it. We ended up going through Eventbrite. We sold the tickets for 85, the DIY kits for $35. Only she bought a DIY kit. Cora will be decorating with them. I'm going to set up the IPEVO document camera to my laptop to display it. Otherwise I would have done that to a tv. It doesn't seem like there's space for a tv. And the issues I'm going to see is the tight space and possibly the setup. Yes, possibly. Possibly charging. But I think my computer could hold.
A
A charge for you bringing the pants for the table.
B
I'm bringing them. However. She said she had table protectors, but I prefer the pans for cleanup.
A
The pans for cleanup is just easy.
B
Right.
A
And it keeps everyone kind of in.
B
Their own section also where we're parking. So we should drive together.
A
You think?
B
You want me to bring your tea? Yeah. Yeah, I guess. I'm not Bringing the tv so we don't even. Right, that's fine. Because if we just had one car, that'd be easier. That'd be better. Okay. Okay. So that's the other half of this podcast. Obviously. We're still thinking.
A
We're obviously in the process of it. I've made the cookies on Monday. The great thing about sugar cookies is they freeze really well. So as soon as they became room temperature, I threw em in this box in this bin and I showed it on that live that we did on Instagram.
B
It holds all the cookies that you.
A
Need for a class. And that is in the freezer.
B
Freezer.
A
Because I don't want the icing to get rock hard. I'm actually making the icing tomorrow and it will go in the freezer and it will be almost frozen. It won't be frozen. Exactly.
B
It'll start thawing once you leave your house.
A
Exactly. And it'll be thawed by the time we get there. So it works out timing wise.
B
Right, Right.
A
Right. Right.
B
So obviously we're going to make a mistake and we'd be happy to tell you about it next week. So stay tuned.
A
If it's the twins, there's a mistake involved.
B
Here's the thing.
A
Mistakes.
B
Par for the course. Yeah. Nobody's perfect. How good at you are rolling with the punches.
A
Me and Heather, we do speak a twin. Twin language. And it's this slight eyebrow raise and I can look at her when someone says something and I can do a slight eyebrow raise. She can do one back. And when she does it back, I know there's a. There's a solution there. I just haven't been able to talk to her yet. But I'm. I'm expecting two eyebrow raises mid conversation with Mary.
B
It. Yeah, I think so. We'll. We'll do an eyebrow raise count on next week's podcast.
A
Yeah. Yeah.
B
Moving on to the stl me about. Actually, I want to talk about the thank you collab. You guys don't want to miss out on this one. I can feel when a collab is going to get likes. Yes. This is going to be one of those. So in tandem with Thanksgiving, we are doing a thankful collab. You're going to make a thank you cookie and you're going to give it to someone you're thankful for and take a picture of them holding it. And then you're going to. And I'll help you with a copy right up. Yeah. And I would love to read why you're thankful for this person.
A
Yeah. And this is a great way to one give a shout out to someone who means something something you to you in your life but also connect your audience with here's mine it's going to be Heather and what I'm going to tell them if you ever liked my website if you've ever gone through my form it was not I but it was she she did that for me. I come and bring people into my life they don't half my customers don't know I'm a twin. They don't even know I have sisters. They will learn I'm a twin.
B
Okay And I'm going to say Corey there's one thing yes I'd like to be thanked on an intrinsically pure thankful but also for likes clicks revealing that she has a twin which we should actually take the picture together we should that will get generate more like so who can you this is on November 21st it's at 11:00am Eastern Standard Time to 12. You're going to use a hashtag SCM Collab T Y thank you T Y so not thank you Ty and you're going to post that and I'm going to help you with copy especially if you registered Let me see how many people we got registered but what you're going to who I'd recommend kind of just choosing you could if you're like I don't know anybody. I've never met a single human on the planet of the earth. Your husband, your wife, your child.
A
Your child. Your number one customer the number one absolutely would be a great way to showcase them in a neighbor who lets.
B
Cars park in their yard. Absolutely.
A
The PPA who always orders from you the venue who lets you have a.
B
Cookie really just about anyone. Here's here's the most never spoken word in English like language and it's thank you. Yeah. So if you're nervous about asking someone if you could feature them as somebody you're thankful for don't be they're gonna love it.
A
Oh absolutely.
B
I would love to be thanked and.
A
They'Ll get one sweet treat out of it. How fun Sign me up. How fun me up.
B
I mean maybe awkward hey can I get a photo with you But I just want to you know we're doing this collab and I'm really excited to kind of tell people about you and how much you've helped me. I would still love kids teacher they're they've helped your child. There's a ton of opportunity there. You could even do your ma' am and who's delivering Your Amazon pocket taught.
A
You how to bake. The list is that.
B
Listen, I'm going to want to see who you pick.
A
Absolutely.
B
I'm going to read that caption. Yes. I'm already excited about it. It's a day before my birthday. Nothing better to do. Nothing better. Do I have to send a Benny Blend email that I. That's it. Someone list. 56 people have signed up. I'd love to see that closer to 100. This will be a great collab because it's so close to Thanksgiving. It is thanking somebody and it is featuring somebody in your life that's made a difference. Which I'm gonna wanna read.
A
Yes, I'm gonna want to read.
B
So the STL me about is an automatic defaulted winner. We had one Texas week. Who? Howdy. From Texas.
A
Texas.
B
Texas. I can tell by the ways to stepping around. You hear that song?
A
What you're saying?
B
No, it's. It's a really catchy song.
A
I must if it's not Josh Groban singing Thankful in the month of November. I haven't heard it.
B
Anyways, she takes the boyfriend back to Texas and he leaves her for a girl in Texas because she couldn't get him to fall in love with Texas. Tennessee, howdy from Texas. You're the winner. From Texas. Two start two Stepping round the royal. In regards to your kitty, Munch, and Christmas trees, be careful with the type of tree you get. Our kitty always nibbles on our trees every year. And one year we had bought a different type of tree. A Leyland cypress, if that matters. And she did what she always did. Long story short, she somehow inhaled one of the pieces and ended up in her nose for an entire year. It was very snotty here. I tell you what. But best. Best wishes to you ladies. And Munch, not hilarious. Hats are crazy.
A
Cats are just untethered because they want to eat everything.
B
I think cats have a weird tell. Here's the thing. Munch will always eat hair on the ground. Gross. Gross. He'll walk up his hair. His hair, another cat's hair.
A
Hair that he's like, let me get a hairball.
B
As soon as he gets to it. It's not to snake. It immediately is imbibed.
A
That's weird. Yeah.
B
He's never coughed up a hairball, but he's eating the one thing.
A
Now. I'm a single dog owner. The one thing that I'm so glad I've never experienced is dogs who eat anything. Like dogs who eat rocks.
B
I know Dogs who eat mulch.
A
The furniture yeah, my dog will eat cheese, like, non stop. But he's not a dog that's just going to eat random things, which I appreciate that.
B
That's good.
A
That. That Dr. Bill is not something I could experience.
B
Yeah. Like they said, like cats who eat like hair bands and it never. The emergency munch also eats, and this I feel like is a problem. He will get in a mood, a crazy goofy mood where he's using his nails on this platform flush carpet and he'll figure out that he can pull out each.
A
Oh, five. I'm gonna tell you, he eats.
B
You'll.
A
Oh, he eats them and pulls them out.
B
He pulls them out. One wild. Yeah, I hate that. I can tell when he's in the movies, he's actually connected the carpet with his nails. Then he pulls one out and gets in this like crazy.
A
Eats it.
B
Yeah, he yanked his mouth open.
A
See, that's so frustrating because you can't have a house without carpet. Like rare. The house is without carpet.
B
Like in carpet. You can pull out. Yeah. Because it's normal.
A
But I'm gonna say any carpet. Every can I've ever hunt has pulled out carpet.
B
Oh, really?
A
Every cat. Did they eat it? No, they just left little particles.
B
Anyways. That's great. Actually, it's a fake tree. He was nibbling on it, though. Still would love him not to eat it. Yeah, I. I yelled hot chop like a mom.
A
It's almost that that encourages them. I know they think you're cheering them on, so.
B
Howdy from Texas, area code 281. You win the cookie design lab for a month. Email me heather@sugarcookiemarketing.com Cookie Design Lab STL Software. Software. 25 off the Vendee Blendy, but 15 off right now with the code Twins.
A
Well, speaking of the vendor, tell us about the cookie college and why they should wait to sign up.
B
Do not sign up for the cookie college right now. Just kidding. If you sign up for the cookie college right now, I will get you into the Vendee Blendy. I will help you switch over your plan to that cheaper price. And if you're wondering what that discount will be, I'll be doing a Facebook live next week. On Thursday, you might say, why would.
A
Anyone want to sign up before the Vendy Bunny? Because the cookie class kits is in there.
B
And it's also a bunch of great strategies. Did you see how cute?
A
Did you see how cute?
B
I have to work on it for the rest of the day.
A
Yeah.
B
The December cookie class kit drops November 7th. November I'm sorry. It's November 7th. You got three days G girl. Three days girl. Yes. So the cookie college is going to be discounted. It's going to be a pretty great sale. I'll be talking about it next Thursday. However, this Wednesday I'm doing a Facebook live. Live on secrets to pre to shopping the venue. Yes. Since I kind of run the thing, I know when you should wake up.
A
And we should go to bed. Yes.
B
So if you wonder how you can get the most juice from the spare. I'm going to give you the insider info on that on Wednesday at 6. It should be on Thursday. But I'm teaching that private class. Suffering through that private class.
A
We will have a good attitude.
B
Oh, absolutely. Mary seems like a vibe and she's offered us on the chili cookout.
A
And you guys can come up early.
B
Be getting the chili.
A
Yeah, I will too. Is it spicy spice chili?
B
So definitely check out cookie design lab. Email me. I hope your cat does not eat your Christmas tree. I love that you have a real Christmas tree.
A
I'm not cut out for the pine needles falling.
B
I think you have to have a lot of strategy around a real Christmas tree.
A
I think one, you gotta go get it. You gotta get it and that's a whole thing.
B
I don't have a go.
A
You got a tree. Crap it. You got a little bit of a Dodge Caravan.
B
You put that tree on your pen.
A
I'll put it on yours and take a photo.
B
It'll be hilarious. We need paint correction on the roof anyways. Yeah.
A
We don't have to keep them something to get. And then you have to keep it alive. A dead tree bunch is already eating carpet. Imagine what he's doing to the water.
B
At the base of the tree. Slurping it up a little bit, dude.
A
And then the bugs that I've heard about. Oh, there's.
B
Yeah, I saw somebody and they shake it.
A
Someone's like. Someone said I walked by the shaking part of the real tree and I didn't know what it was for. Why were they shaking? It was to shake off the bugs.
B
Oh, I don't like booze. Yes, I saw it last year. Went viral. Assuming it wasn't AI generated, which is ruining my life. An owl was in the tree. Hello, baby owl.
A
I would love a baby owl.
B
I would be like, forget the tree. We're now owl keepers.
A
Parents.
B
So moving on to remember Fendi Blendy. 28th, 21st. Thank you, Cookie collab. The Thursday is leading up. So this Wednesday, my Facebook live. Next Thursday, the Facebook live on the cookie collab. College. And the final Thursday before that, a final Q A Facebook live for you guys. I'm sorry. I just got a text message. Years ago, I was 20 years old. I. I was a renter in a room in a house with a lady I'd never met. Whoever that lady was. I get text messages of people wanting to buy that house. It's 16 years later. I just got a text message.
A
Selling it now? No, I just.
B
Every once, every couple of years, I'll get a text and they'll say, hey, Giselle, would you. Are you interested in selling your house on this place that I. It wasn't even my house. That's so. So crazy. So that is what's coming down the pipeline now. The Vendy Blendy is going to be taking up a lot of space in the group.
A
It.
B
It's already. It's a vibe. If you don't know, you will know. If you're annoyed, stick around. Stick around. You're going to like what you see.
A
November 29th, you won't hear about one more.
B
Let me tell you. You never hear about it again. But the 28th. Leading up to the 28th, November, someone said this kicks off their holiday season. I think it'll be fun. It'll be a fun vibe. Cory and I are in a good mood. So it's always. It's always gonna. It's gonna set the tone. Now we just need you guys to show up. We need you to.
A
Pendy.
B
Our little sister said I wouldn't even think about joining that Facebook group until it's closer. I don't need that energy from you. No, I need you to.
A
Pendy.
B
Right now.
A
I want to see your beautiful, smiling faces in the pending department. I scroll through them often to see who's there.
B
We'll be having some door prizes, some hyp. Giving away a Bosch mixer. Giving away $1,000 in gift cards. Over a thousand dollars in gift cards. And who knows what. What we'll do. Nobody knows what we're gonna do because we don't know what we're gonna do.
A
Do you have a twin rest?
B
We have to do our sponsors. You wanna do.
A
I feel like.
B
I'm sorry.
A
You didn't pick.
B
We went off screen it bud.
A
What?
B
We were supposed to read the review from the cookie.
A
Find it yet? You do the cookie clocks. I'm finding my post that I like from this week.
B
Okay. Corey wanted us to read. These are people. I owe the last person from last week a 10Amazon gift card. But that's the Incentive to give us their fair review.
A
Yes.
B
Of this. And I'm also coming up with a form for. For people who want to do the podcast I would love to feature. That will be coming. Let me go back to my results tab. I'm using type form because I could embed it on the website if you guys are wondering how the sausage is made. Um, Deanne says this. Deanna says the cookie college is a giant stockpile filled with marketing knowledge. The community is the most supportive, helpful, and amazing group I've seen. The Cookie College truly is worth the money. Now, what she uses the most here, she's actually been in for three years. She thinks, wow. She said the college has helped me with time management, cook classes, email marketing, and community building. She finds herself using the Facebook group the most and followed by the courses and then does the group challenges, which we do every. Every other month. What's one thing you'd say was the biggest aspect of your bakery business at the Cookie College? Help. She says classes being a drop cookier, I would have never thought about that revenue line. And then she gives it a 10 out of 10. So thank you, Deanna. I'll send you that gift card. And I'll send you a gift card. Last week's my winner. But thank you guys so much for being a part of the memberships and for being as kind to give a review about it.
A
Next time we have to have. We'll have to just have a list and we'll go through the list of new. Because it's new segments. My brain hasn't wrapped up.
B
Yeah, I can tell. I can tell.
A
Yeah.
B
Okay.
A
So my post for the week in the sugar cookie marketing Facebook group is Heather's post.
B
Nice.
A
Where she said Corey and her first Benchy. When Heather told me to print a Benchy, I did not quite know what the word Benchy meant.
B
Benchy is the how you get graduated into 3D printing.
A
Yeah.
B
Why do they name him Benchy? I don't know where the history of Benchy came from. It's a boat that all 3D printers are loaded up with as a test print. Because he's kind of complex. Yeah, he'll reveal. Because. Because we. Because when you set up a 3D printer, everyone's printing a Benchy. When he misprints, a lot of people will be able to quickly diagnose what the issue is because we've all printed benches.
A
So Heather said, if you listen to the podcast, I honor. I'm honored that 3D printing setup. Promise. So Heather helped me set up this bamboo printer, it's small. So my cookie room is teeny tiny. It's a bedroom that's just been converted into the cookie room. But it's very, very small. So I couldn't have a giant printer. At the end of the day, this printer is small. It's almost like. It's like the size of whatever this thing is I'm talking into right now.
B
Microphone.
A
The microphone. It's fairly small. It doesn't take a lot of space.
B
Very, very small footprint, which is great because some of these printers are massive.
A
Yeah, some of the printers are massive. And that 3D printer Heather has is too big for my liking. No.
B
Yep.
A
It takes a lot of height and it's a lot of. This guy is small. So if you're just looking to get into the world of cookie cutter 3D printing because it's going to want to cut down on shipping cost, which is a huge. A huge expense when you're buying cookie cutters, especially if you're starting out. Kind of kicking myself. I didn't have a 3D printer when.
B
I started out because of. I'm sorry. The technology of 3D printing has advanced in the last two years.
A
Okay, good.
B
So before that, it was pretty hard at the ender.
A
Ooh.
B
That I started with. True. It was cost per header to get something more reliable. Oh, good.
A
Okay. So then the. You should save on shipping, but you can also have a quick turnaround time. So I had a customer who sent me her design ideas last Saturday. Second thinking that I have just this repertoire of cookie cutters of any design that she wanted. She wanted a makeup brush. I've never done that one before in my life. But I was able to go to Etsy, find the STL file, print it, and now the cookies are there.
B
Trembly little fingers. Here's a history, Benji. It's actually interesting. It's kind of close to what I guess. Design impressed the 3D benchy, which is a little boat. Actually, it's a boat. Cute little boat. It was designed by Daniel Nurey while working at a speechless company, Creative Tools. The goal was to create a single small, recognizable and challenging model that could be used as a standardized benchmark. Benchy Benchmark and calibration tool for 3D printers. It was released in 2015. And the reason why it's so great is the little tugboat's design incorporates numerous geometrical features to test the printer's capabilities, including symmetry, planar and low soap surfaces, cylindrical shapes, overhangs, which is big problem. Tiny surface details. There's the names of tiny windows, measurable dimensions for accuracy tools. And it's designed to be printed without support materials in unique under an hour.
A
Wow.
B
So if he doesn't show up right, you can. My first benchy was spaghetti, so I knew I had a problem. So yeah, that. That's pretty funny. So everyone will print off benches and.
A
Stuff, but I want to just say get you a twin. Set her up. I'm just kidding. It's easier to set up than you think. Heather said out of the box. It was 15 minutes. And there is a cookie college course on how to set up that specific printer.
B
That's the one I set up in the back in June.
A
So that's why if you're like, hey, listen, if I get the printer, it'll sit in a box. But if I pay, you know, the cookie college a few bucks, you can follow along and she'll set it up with you. So it's a whole video that you can follow along. I'm a visual person. Go to see I quotes to see what I'm doing. So that's a great course for you. But also just having the ability to 3D print. Someone else ordered a cookie cut a cookie custom set that was Chick Fil a themed. She didn't want to. She didn't want me to violate any of Chick Fil A's copyright. She wanted a waffle fry.
B
So I was like, I could do.
A
It on a square, but that looks less waffle fryish. So I found an STL that was a waffle fry that I was able to make. So it worked out perfectly.
B
Ain't that the sum of our lives?
A
I don't like learning at this ripe old age of almost 37. But failure, learning, mistakes.
B
I wish I did it differently. I wish I did it sooner. I wish I didn't do it that way. Is a part of doing it the way you finally want to do it. You have to go through the trenches to get to the other side. Yeah, a trench. A trench.
A
I love putting ourselves out in the trenches of people.
B
You do?
A
Doing a class.
B
If I did not have to teach that private class specifically this week, I'd be sitting pretty.
A
Sittin ready. We're not sitting pretty.
B
Do you have a post that you were trying? Actually, it's so funny. My posts have been the most viral ones in the room.
A
You have.
B
You've been Mostly because they're all about Vendy blendy door prizes. We're trying to come up with the big door prizes. Try to talk about it.
A
No, I. We have to talk about it at lunch first.
B
We don't know what we're doing.
A
Yeah, we nail her down.
B
Our little sister has this phrase, Mrs. G. Mrs. G, Mrs. G, Mrs. G. So whenever she has, like. Whenever something's, like, overwhelming, she'll just look at her and she'll be.
A
Here's the thing. So the door prizes. Now that I've entered this world of 3D printing for the last two days, we were wondering, do people want. This is literally what I just said. Let's talk about. Yeah, fine, we'll talk about it.
B
No, let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it.
A
Do what?
B
They listen this song on the podcast. It's the least we can give them. Okay, go ahead. We were thinking 10. So our little sister is actually the one that Miso scored. Yeah, she's the one who picks the winners. I give her the parameters. We have 10 door prize posts. We did last year.
A
You can butter up Heather and Corey all you want.
B
It's Summer. It ain't us.
A
It ain't us. We can't have favorites. We can't have favorites.
B
So truly bipartisan. I tell her, hey, here's the prerequisites for these 10 posts, because there's different ways and you can find out out about what those are on Wednesday. Here's a prerequisite. And it was 10 Bosch mixers. Now, she says that's more marketable.
A
It is 10 Bosch mixers. She also thinks it's more useful.
B
She said, every baker needs a mixer. Not every Baker needs a 3D printer. But because of the price difference of this 3D printer, Corey is now enthralled with, we could give a lot more 3D printers away and open up the.
A
Door of 3D printing to a lot more people.
B
But Summer's like, not everybody loves the technical aspect. So we said, let's do a blended giveaway away. Five Bosch mixers and ten 3D printers. But she was like, But I don't like that.
A
It's.
B
It's. It's not brandable. Yeah, because it's like. So in my big thing, Corey and I, twins, 50. I have a 50% shot at getting whatever I wanted. So I prefer more options to win, but some people prefer bigger options to win. Bigger options to it.
A
Listen, I love my Bosch mixer. Heather and my husband gifted it to me around five years ago.
B
I think I've used.
A
Used it religiously. It's the universal. Plus. It's been amazing for dough days. It's, you know, it's handy when I need it, but if you have one. I have one.
B
You do. You can't opt out of. If you win the Bosch mixer. You can't. Unless you're out of the country. You get the Bosch mixer.
A
Yeah.
B
Otherwise you get the currency equivalent just because Bosch doesn't ship everywhere.
A
I know. So 10 chances to win a Bosch.
B
Versus 15 chances to win something.
A
Something else to win.
B
Five boxes. 10.
A
Yeah.
B
Printers. Or we do 20 printers.
A
20 chance, 20 chances to win. So I. We would like to hear from you. And you can't just be like, well, I have a Bosch, I want a printer.
B
Like, you gotta think of the overall quality of.
A
Yes.
B
You gotta look beyond yourself.
A
Beyond yourself. Now, we have a lot of shops in the vending that are sending selling STL files. So if you got a printer, you'd be able to use it right away, you know, which is great. Set it up. Heather said it takes 15 minutes roughly. So I learned that if a file's an stl, it opens it automatically.
B
The only thing you would need to buy is filament. But they give you a test filament to get your benchy.
A
Yeah.
B
So filament.
A
Buy whatever.
B
You can buy it on Amazon.
A
Filament people in bamboo is a filament.
B
I use.
A
Oh, the filament.
B
They're using bamboo. But you know, cookie can sell film. I know.
A
Could we get them in? I think I've tried before in my past, probably.
B
They do cookie count.
A
Yeah. Know. I know.
B
Be cool.
A
Yeah.
B
Just a thought there. And you have a twin.
A
Twinterest.
B
I do.
A
What?
B
It's a product. Okay. Okay. I did. I already talk about this. A primer for my skin. Okay. I have. Do you see that gaping hole in my face? That's my pores. You're seeing right into your brain. So I have, you know, it pours around your nose, especially in the crease. That's where I find like. Yeah. And it's kind of frustrating to me. So this guy on TikTok, a makeup influencer. I don't know. He is. He was like icon. Never heard of him. From Sephora has a primer that works a little differently. It's a cream base. And he said, non comedogenic, which means no acne. My face loves a pimple. He said, put it on in the T zone. The places where you tend to get.
A
Oily and where you have large pores.
B
Icon, it's a cream and then it's a spray. And he said the setting spray works differently than other setting.
A
Sprays.
B
You put it on before makeup.
A
Oh, so it has something to grip to.
B
Yeah, it creates a tacky grip, and it melts with that cream to kind of it. It creates a layer for the makeup to sit on. Then once you're done with the application, you do the spray again.
A
Niacinamide is supposed to help with large pores. I know. Your pores are what they are. They get filled with something, though.
B
And they said like a salicylic acid or an aha. BHA type thing will diminish what's in them. However, the pore is the poor. The pore is the poor.
A
It could just get clogged and look more pore.
B
Taurus. What a battle, man. You can't get rid of them, but they're okay. Anyway, so I bought that icon. I bought the duo from Sephora, Which Sephora. If you have. If you're a member, you can, for a couple more days get that discount.
A
Yeah.
B
What? 10 off? 50 or 20 off, depending on your level. I'm not. I'm not opposed. I do think it has helped my makeup last longer.
A
Nice.
B
And I have not gotten a pimple from it. Nice. Okay, Nice. So icon was the thing. It was a pink. Was pink packaging.
A
My. My thing is I'm becoming a minimalist. So I'm not buying from the Sephora sale.
B
Oh, you're not?
A
No, I'm not.
B
You know, I don't need anything.
A
Huh?
B
You're not buying anything?
A
Nothing. Nothing. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
I thought about it. I don't need anything.
A
And for my birthday, I've asked for a knife block.
B
I think it was a great. A great ask.
A
It's a great ask.
B
Who knew they were so expensive?
A
I know. If you didn't know. Knife blocks range. One, they have a range, but two, they can get so expensive.
B
I believe in terms of knives, you get what you pay for.
A
You're right. You do. And I said, do I want to add stuff to my life?
B
No.
A
What's something I will use?
B
Well, then you. You'd clear out all your old knives.
A
Oh, I will be donating.
B
Right.
A
To someone who needs knives.
B
How are you going to wrap those bubble wrappers? Yeah. Saran Wrap. You going to say Ruthan live with her. She doesn't cook. She's a bakinger. Yeah. She refuses to buy. She doesn't have a knife. She has a na. It just squishes through things.
A
That is broken at the tip. One, what's the point of these knives?
B
They're so sharp and there's not A lot of knife left. They're so. They've bent. Please understand. They're not sharp now.
A
No. They were in their prime.
B
If you go to cut a tomato.
A
Skin, maybe you should. That should be your gift for Ruthanford.
B
She doesn't want to cook or bake. She does not want to give up those.
A
But you're using the knives.
B
I did force her hand. Her last year's gift was a scissor because I said I had a scream one time. Cuz they're trying to cut open a.
A
Bag and just broken scissy like a scissor.
B
That's not broken, it's just not scissors.
A
But you're not a scissor then you're not a scissor.
B
You're a. You are a problem. Yeah. So I did get her scissor from that story. I can't pronounce the name of them all. Scissors. Nice. So your twin is literally the word nothing.
A
Nothing. Sad all.
B
Are you buying stuff from the Vinnie Blendy?
A
Oh yeah, absolutely.
B
You'll be recovering minimalist at that point.
A
That's a more a of a necessity.
B
This weekend I'm flying. My boyfriend is flying in and I've invited my whole family. Right now? Yeah, because it's be post winter.
A
Okay.
B
I can't be interested in something if I'm not interested in it later. But we're doing the steak dinner from last year.
A
Yeah, we are.
B
I gift everybody as a yell, kick, scream and throw things. Yeah.
A
I don't know.
B
Last year I felt there was a lot of angst because someone was trying.
A
To get the boy to go. There was of angst.
B
Summer had a boy that was hurt.
A
Listen. We did not know the severity of last year's dinner and it was a make it her break it with Summer boyfriend. She said that you either go and we're together or you don't go and we're not.
B
He had already RPed and regrettably I had RSVP on his behalf to the restaurant. And then he decides to not go. And the whole meal they're like okay, we need another order. We're missing somebody's. But I'm like, yeah, we're missing. Missing him entirely.
A
But Summer was silent because she was contemplating.
B
That was rough. You didn't think your husband was gonna go? That was.
A
He went and he had a great.
B
Where Brian met everybody. That was. He was nothing.
A
He also said he doesn't 8 stay.
B
Quarters steak accidentally didn't want to reorder it because I guess yeah, it was your own mistake. Who knows that tenderloin could be applied to any meat at all? Ash, it was great. Memories are made. Made.
A
Men's made.
B
Anyways, we're doing that on Saturday.
A
Saturday.
B
Doing it live. Doing it live.
A
We doing it.
