So what was good for that administration is being foisted on us. But having gone from I think low level sanctions to mid level, that if any officials in the Russian Federation are watching this confirmation hearing, they should know that if I'm confirmed and if President Trump request and as part of his strategy to end the Ukraine war, that I will be 100% on board for taking sanctions up, especially on the Russian oil majors, to levels that would bring the Russian Federation to the table.

China will build 10 nuclear plants this year. That is not solar. I am in favor of more nuclear plants. And I would note that the IRA as scored by the CBO is wildly out of control in terms of spending.

On the upside, I believe these tariffs, you can call it whatever you want in terms of trying to gussy it up. They're going to be paid for by our workers and small businesses. All through the campaign we heard they weren't, that foreign countries were going to pay it. I think that's baloney. It's going to be paid for by workers and small businesses. So your response?

Yes, Senator, I would respectfully disagree. And the history of tariffs and tariff theory, optimal tariff theory, does not support what you're saying. Traditionally we see that the current, if we were to say use a number that has been thrown around in the press of 10%, then traditionally the currency appreciates by 4%. So the 10% is not passed through. Then we have various elasticities. Consumer preferences may change. And finally foreign manufacturers, especially China, especially China, which is trying to export their way out of their current economic malaise. They will continue cutting prices to maintain market share.

He basically offered up an academic mumbo jumbo to try to justify the Trump across the board tariffs that are going to clobber our workers and our small businesses.

I think President Trump recognizes that there is no such thing as free and.

And those last two comments coming from GOP senators showing you that they are not concerned with, with Trump's threat to impose these widespread tariffs, even though they, many of them have been opposed to the idea of tariffs and have supported the idea of free trade for many years in the past. But Brianna, this is also just shows how many of Trump's nominees are almost certain to get the job. One person, though to watch out for is Tulsi Gabbard, Donald Trump's choice to be the next Director of National Intelligence. She has views that are contradict and conflict with some views, including from this former Senate Republican leader, the current senator From Kentucky, Mitch McConnell, who I just asked moments ago if he's ready to support Tulsi Gabbard. And Brianna, he said, quote, I have not made any announcement on that yet. And that came after he gave a speech on the Senate floor calling for a robust US Presence around the world.

And Scott Besson and I'm so proud of Scott in particular the team. We know a lot of people on the team around him that put this together and prepped him, went through the murder boards, got everything together. This was a massacre today. What it showed you could tell. Here's when you know it's working for us. Number one, when MSNBC doesn't go live to a hearing, it's working for us. They went live to the Pete Hegseth because they couldn't help themselves the other day when they were. They're not following a hearing. Live and tv. Really. MSNBC more than CNN and the New York Times. I was saying they're tweeting it out every 30 seconds or the Guardian, you know, you got them. The Democrats in the panel with Besson started to leave. They didn't want to. The questions were juvenile. The questions showed a sophomore understanding of economics. And with Scott, you're talking about one of the bigger brains on Wall Street, a macro guy. And remember today they were going to chop him up on Trump's tax cuts. They were going to chop him up on. On trade and tariffs. How are you going to finance that? The deficit, the debt? As you've seen Scott on the show many times, it was a tutorial to make complex ideas accessible to the everyday man and woman. But the Democrats want to come up with agenda and try to chop block him and just got blown up every time. Pam Bondi has a different style. Same way Pete Hexa, different style, same thing. Marco Rubio, different style. Same thing. We are now. And you got Epa, you had Zelda Epa, you had Duffy at Transportation. We're now grinding through this thing of the. But I think Thursday was Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, because a lot of these senators are gonna, particularly Democrats gonna get out. This was full owner. We owned them this week. When you flood the zone, man, you've got these things juggling. You're juggling murder boards, you're juggling preparation, paperwork, all of it. There was a few slowdowns. This is not just typical Republicans coming in with little shades or gradations of what's going to change. These are fundamental changes of the MAGA kind of populist, nationalist America first philosophy and what I mean by that. And you can tell this has been years in the making. This has been, this has been, you know, the America First Institute, Priorities Institute, our policy institute with Brooks. This is Project 2025, the project that shall not say its name. It's with Senator DeMint and his group at CPI, many others, at least a half a dozen groups who've been doing both policy work and personnel work. This just didn't come out of nowhere. The Democrats never took this seriously.

These policies and the way these people are trained and think of the world just didn't happen overnight. And that's what the Democrats have no response to it. They have response to the Republican version of the Washington consensus or the Republican version of, of neocon neoliberalism or neoliberalism. The neoliberal neocon worldview. They don't have A response to this? They haven't done the work, their staffs haven't done the work and they haven't given you enough respect to want to do it because they didn't think you got to win. They never thought that Marco Ruby would be up there, Secretary of State. They never thought that Pete Hexis would be up there as Secretary of Defense. They never thought Scott Besson would be up there, Secretary of Treasury. They never thought that Pam Bondi would be up there as the Attorney General of these United States and Kristi Noam demar as Department of Homeland Security. They never thought that in a billion years. So why study it? Why look at it? Why pay him any attention at all? If you notice, in the campaign with Kamala Harris and Biden, they never take on the ideas of the America first movement. They never take on the ideas of maga. As you know, we are huge believers here in the world. Ideas have consequences. Ideas have consequences. And our ideas are the right ideas because they comport with both human nature and common sense and what's best for this republic and her citizens. This week you had Marco Rubio with a fundamental changing of how America not just looks at the world, how they interact. They say, hey, the post war international rules based order is dead. It's dyed by the greed and avarice and incompetence and malfeasance of the global elites and particularly the elites in the United States and in London and in Western Europe. He laid out a new vision and there was no response. Go back and look at the questions. There's no response. Pete Heggs is talking about infusing the Pentagon in our military to get away from the bureaucratic, technological, military industrial complex and restore the warrior ethos. The warrior ethos which once installed will change everything, including not just simply how you fight wars. What do you fight wars with? Scott Bessen today laid out really Trump's maga, economic and financing. The two things, an economic policy and then how you finance it. No response, people. I think it's an organ widens, consortiums out there. You got humiliated today. That was embarrassing. He's a goofball and he look, when you don't know what you're talking about, don't sit there in front of the world because everybody, every capital market guy, everybody's watching that because they want to see what the Secretary of Treasury thinks. Know they came away from that. Trump's a pretty smart guy, confident guy. So maybe this speech is going to be for something else. Maybe this is going to be a warning. I did not expect it to be this stark, as you said. He said tonight, there is an oligarchy taking shape in America. Dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a very few ultra wealthy people. A tech industrial complex that poses real dangers. He talked about a of misinformation and disinformation enabling the abuse of power. Not just saying misinformation and disinformation are bad on their own, but why are they there? They are there to enable the abuse of power. He talked about the free press crumbling, which put a shiver down my spine, and then talked about how truth is being sacrificed for lies for the purposes of power and profit. So this is important because he has essentially decided not to brag on the way out about what he did. He did a little of that, but really he's taken this last moment to say here is what we've got right now and this is why. This is not just dangerous because it doesn't sound American, it's dangerous because this is what they're doing to you with this oligarchy, with this concentration of power and with what they're doing to the press and the truth. But what I'm asking you is when you have a handful of people like Musk who will soon be part of the Trump administration and others, when you have three people owning more wealth than the bottom half of American society, when these people have enormous influence over the media, when they spend huge amounts of money in both political parties to elect candidates, what Biden said last night is we're moving toward an oligarchy. I'm asking you that question. Do you think, forget how they made their money, do you think that when so Few people have so much wealth and so much economic and political power that that is an oligarchic form of society.

Well, I would note that the President Biden gave the Presidential Medal of Freedom to two people who I think would qualify for his oligarchs.

So this is not a condemnation of any one individual. I'm just asking, would so few people have so much wealth and power? But do you think that that is an oligarchic form of society, Senator?

I think it depends on the ability to move up and down the.

No, that's not really the answer. I mean, even if you had that mobility, no matter who those individuals might be. All right, but let me ask you another question.

Okay, I want to play that last one questions for the audience. Is Donald Trump taking power yet? I know he's acting like the president because people are referring to the president. Foreign leaders, business leaders, cultural leaders, all of it. Why are they doing that? As a subject, why are people doing that? Because they realize Biden's illegitimate and has been illegitimate because Biden stole the 2020 election. Let me just go back to one of my favorite topics, because in the war room, we are right. Oh, by the way, for the war room being the ones that pounded that and pounded that and now have, I don't know, 60%, almost two thirds of people that are our registered Republicans believe that the 2020 election is stolen because of how we've pounded it and put evidence out over years and years and years. And they've seen with their own eyes and now an increasing amount of Democrats and I think almost 50% of independents, they couldn't wait to toss this guy out with everything President Trump is doing and, you know, the trappings of power. And he's acting like a boss, as Cain would say. He is acting like a president. But he doesn't have the formal power. He will have that at high noon on Monday when he takes an oath to heaven that he will faithfully perform his duties and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic, foreign and domestic. In the last four years, has President Trump had that power? No, he has not. This is President Trump that they tried to send to prison with 92 felony charges. President Trump in a kangaroo court found him guilty of 34 felonies. President Trump, who they tried to bankrupt. President Trump who they tried to assassinate not once but twice. President Trump, who they went after his business empire and his family. And just lawsuit after lawsuit after lawsuit after lawsuit. And you read the Jack Smith thing the other day. It's a nothing burger so answer the answer the question, audience, is President Trump had any power the last four years and even as president United States, the peace and prosperity he brought with the administrative state in deep state, every single day of which we know were phony on him. Did he truly have unlimited power in his first administration? What the administrative state and deep state took from him, fought him every inch of the way and still had peace and prosperity, the answer would be no. So when Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden are sitting there just going off on oligarchs and an oligarchy and oligarch who's had the power and allowed it to happen. You, you, you, you. This festered because the Democratic Party wanted an oligarchy. They wanted an oligarchy who. The tax increases on the wealthy in the first 30 days of Biden's only term illegitimate, regime's only term. They put forward the tax policy and never even got a committee hearing. It was all performative. Why the nascent oligarchs didn't want it in the donor class of the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party is a billionaire, multi billionaire donor class. Lords of easy money on Wall street. The tech oligarchs. Right? These are all Democrats. They're all Democrats. They're all Democrats. We in this show are banned on every one of their platforms. The same way he thinks of tariffs and trade and the centrality of trade in a nation that trades. The centrality of trade in the economy. And what do they fall back on now? Oligarchs? Concentration of wealth and power. Okay? Obama started it with his version, the Geithner version, of getting us out of trouble in the 2008 collapse. That's what started the great concentration of money, of wealth that led to the concentration of power. And then during Trump's first term, when you saw how we had used Facebook and other platforms, Even Twitter, in 16, you had a meltdown in Silicon Valley. Mike Benz and Darren Beatty were going to do a big movie about it. We walked through and spent hours looking at the footage they had to go into. As soon as Trump won on 3 November, they had to have these sessions at these trauma sessions at the headquarters of all these places to walk people back off the ledge. Because the evil one Trump had won. The evil one had won. And that's why in Trump's first term, they all turned against us violently. And the Democrats used that and used that and used that and the Way they stole the 2020 election and suppressed the information from the laptop from hell for everything. The phony mail in ballots was social media. It's your baby. We have nothing to do with it. We have absolutely no power there whatsoever. And then in the Biden years, you wanted more and more and more, just not because Trump being defeated was enough. You had to spike the beast and you had to destroy this movement around him. You had social media do it, and you made him wealthy. You're the ones that created the oligarchs, and now we're the ones that have to deal with it. And it will be dealt with. It will be dealt with. Sucker bucks, Facebook, Vimeo, YouTube, anyone that spoke out about the election, the vaccine or Jesus Christ was banned that day. And that's the day our voice went down to a little tiny dot.
