Episode 4354: The Democrats’ Foux-Populists, The Tea Party’s Victory...

Stephen K. Bannon
Senator Bernie Sanders and Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez rallied thousands of supporters at an event in Arizona last night against efforts by the Trump administration and Elon Musk to reshape the federal government. Take a look. If any Republican wants to vote their conscience, and if any Republican in the House or the Senate says, you know, maybe it's not a good idea to give a trillion dollars in tax breaks to the 1% and Medicaid, education and nutrition, if that person would stand up and say, I have a problem with that, you know what Musk would do? Musk in five minutes would say, we are going to primary you. Your political life is over. That is not democracy. And our fight is to make sure that we remain a democracy. One person, one vote, not billionaires.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
We are witnessing, witnessing an oligarchy in America. And that is when those with the most economic, political and technological power destroy the public good to enrich themselves while millions of Americans pay the price. And we are at a point where the wealthiest people in the world, like Elon Musk and all the Republicans enabling him, are turning to loot what is left of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security to bankroll even deeper tax cuts and sweetheart contracts for themselves, their fellow billionaires and their corporations.
Bernie Sanders
But I am struck by, though, and you see it from time to time in American politics, where the people are considered to be on the far left, and the people who are considered to be on the far right are saying the same thing when they're talking about technocrats, Silicon Valley billionaires, oligarchs, AOC is saying a lot of what sort of the Steve Bannon wing of MAGA is saying. Like, if you hear Steve Bannon, we've talked about this viewer Steve Bannon talking, he will talk about the threat of the billionaires, the threat of the tax cuts, the threat of the technocrats, the threat of a lot of what your father was talking about 30 years ago. And it is amazing how like this sort of populist strain comes together at the end of both political spectrums.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
That is the message the Democrats should run with oligarchy, it is. They are getting rich, you are getting nothing. And they need to just go hard at that.
Stephen K. Bannon
They need to let their anger show.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
They need to just frankly, move on.
Stephen K. Bannon
From a lot of the, you know.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Trump making it so about Trump, but make it about the whole picture about what he is doing. Bernie Sanders has the message that Democrats need to embrace.
Bernie Sanders
And I've heard you talk about this before. It's a politically potent message, not because it's a, quote, Marxist message. It's because it's a MAGA message as well. Again, if you listen to what Steve Bannon says, you listen to other people who are talking about, hey, we don't need to give billionaires and multinational corporations more tax cuts. We don't need to let the technocrats, we don't need Silicon Valley, you know, continue with their monopoly.
Stephen K. Bannon
I mean, these are.
Bernie Sanders
People actually say positive things about Lina Khan too, because they hate a concentration of power. And Elise is just right. I mean, I think she's exactly right. This is where Democrats can actually find common cause with a lot of people who voted for Donald Trump. Because we've always talked about the very strange thing that in 2016, the Bernie Sanders supporters, after they couldn't vote for Bernie Sanders, who did they vote for?
Stephen K. Bannon
Donald Trump.
Bernie Sanders
Donald Trump.
Stephen K. Bannon
And in that common cause, you say it does bring surprising fellow travelers. I mean, Steve Bannon openly speaks about, he's an admirer of aoc, thinks she's a remarkably talented politician, a political athlete. But also they agree on some of these issues. There is that idea that the elites are the problem. And it's. They're forgetting that working class, the common man, Eugene Robinson, that is, we're seeing that among this debate right now, front and center for the Democratic Party, who we have seen in some of the post election autopsies. Many, including they say we become just the party of college graduates. We've lost the working class or we're in the midst of losing the working class to Republicans. Now some of that maybe is just a Trump centric phenomenon. That's too early to know.
Dave Brat
This is the primal scream of a dying regime. Pray for our enemies because we're going.
Stephen K. Bannon
Medieval on these people. I got a free shot. All these networks lying about the people, the people have had a belly full of it. I know you don't like hearing that.
Dave Brat
I know you try to do everything.
Stephen K. Bannon
In the world to stop that, but.
Dave Brat
You'Re not going to stop it.
Stephen K. Bannon
It's going to happen. And where do people like that go to share the big lie? MAGA MEDIA I wish in my soul, I wish that any of these people had a conscience. Ask yourself, what is my task and what is my purpose? If that answer is to save my.
Dave Brat
Country, this country will be saved.
Stephen K. Bannon
War room here's your host, Stephen K. Band. It's Friday 21st March in the year of our Lord 2025. Last night in Tempe, Arizona, I think like a hockey rink, 5,000 seats after being in North Las Vegas. Earlier in the day, the Bernie Sanders AOC roadshow came to Tempe, Arizona. Now that's Arizona State. They're keeping close to college towns because they know they can draw a huge crowd from these colleges. But I think they had 5,000, they had, you know, a number of people outside. They said thousands, other people said hundreds. But let's say this, it was a sold out crowd and it was pure old fashioned populism. Our coalition that we've been bringing together, the 1932 realignment, they are finally waking up to the fact that in particularly yesterday, this is why it's so important. It happened yesterday. President Trump's initial thrust are to implode and crush the credentialed class. The credentialed class has done so much damage to this country with the as Ben Harnwell, who will join us momentarily, and Dave Bratt are sociopathic overlords, the lords of easy money on Wall street and of course the oligarchs in Silicon Valley and some in corporate America. The corporate America are really more globalist and corporatist. The oligarchs are really Silicon Valley and some on Wall Street. Now we've identified that for years. The left loved him when Elon Musk, and this is what's so amazing to watch about their turning on Elon Musk and the danger, particularly the danger I think Elon Musk is in and the danger that the Tesla dealerships are in, the people driving Teslas because they have turned on them like if you've studied revolutionary movements, they've turned on them like the most dangerous elements of the French Revolution and the most dangerous elements of the Bolsheviks. It's brutal. It's just one slight notch down from gunning down with the head of United Healthcare, shooting him in the back after laying in wait, jumping out, shooting point blank range in the back and being celebrated by that same crowd as a hero. They now understand the math. It takes a while to understand the math after you're defeated. It took us a while to understand the math after 2012, the defeat of Romney. Now, we were anti Romney from the beginning, but there were so many people in the conservative movement that, oh, Romney's going to win. Remember they had the big gathering of the billionaires up at the Four Seasons Hotel that night in Boston. I think Four Seasons or the Ritz, I think it was Four Seasons. All of them were gathered up there. Paul Singer, the whole crowd. They all thought they were going to win. They had. And now I was. And I was running Breitbart at the time, I thought Romney was a complete stone cold loser and had no possibility of winning. We had had. The Tea Party movement had already won a huge victory in 2010. In the off year, elections picked up, I think 60, 61 seats, 63 seats. And Romney and his team did not want any involvement in the Tea Party. The Tea Party reached out. I chaired a meeting actually at the Breitbart Embassy. It was the first time all the Tea Party heads came together because a lot of them were suing each other and they made an outreach to Romney and just had no interest whatsoever. But Sean Trendy, a guy, a lawyer actually, I think, at Hunt and Williams in Richmond, Sean Trendy, who still does analysis of polls today, did this remarkable analysis that came up in Real clear Politics. It was about, I don't know, like a month after, a couple weeks after that, really laid out why Romney lost and was that. That was a moment for me when I walked through there, because at the same time, the official Republican Party, Reince Priebus and these guys who I had just gotten to meet right before, just briefly, for like two or three minutes, they did this thing called the autopsy, I think it was. And they went through it and they came out with the solution that we needed to have amnesty, that the big reason we lost was that we didn't have amnesty in the. It was a complete lie. When you went through the numbers, none of it made sense. You could tell they were selling people a lie. It's one of the reasons in the back of my mind, I said one day, you know, Breitbart went even harder, kind of in populist, nationalist. Because I understood that the establishment of the Republican Party was just controlled opposition. If anything proved it to me, it was that what in the Navy you call a hot wash up after a exercise. Because they realized they had no bound, they were not grounded in truth. There was no ground truth to this. It was just a bunch of lies that were going to be sold to people. And remember, there was later disclosed that they went and had a meeting with Roger Ailes and Sean Hannity. Marco Rubio was there. Or they were going to sell this. Rubio was going to be the front of it. And they started running it up the flagpole in the spring of 2013. And we had that epic fight, for those of you old enough to remember, had epic fight in the summer of 2013 on the floor of the House, led by Steve King and Michele Bachmann and just these incredible fighters to stop the bill is going through just by A handful of votes at the very last second. Oh, by the way, Michele Bachman on her staff were two junior people, Stephen Miller and Sergio Gore, who are two of the most powerful people in President Trump's White House. They were staff grandoons for Michele Bachmann back then. And then later In June of 14, in a primary, the sitting majority leader. You had Paul Ryan, you hadyou had Eric Cantor and then you had McCarthy was the, they were the young guns. This is what was being so the young guns. And it was just a mishmash of this neoliberal neocon, totally unrelated to working class people, totally unrelated to the lived experience of the vast majority of folks in this country. Just completely detached. And in June they had a primary in Virginia and Eric Cantor was running and a young woman named Julia Hahn, who's now Assistant Secretary of the treasury for Public Affairs. So these people do move up. No, there's a career path here, folks. So Julia Hahn, who was a young, she was the Natalie Winters of her time. She had gone to Harvard, Westlake, finished top of her class just like Natalie. She had then gone to the University of Chicago just like Natalie. She was near the top of her class at University of Chicago. Incredibly brilliant young woman. She was the producer for Laura Ingram, her radio show. So Laura Ingram's producer, Matt Boyle, the great Tony Lee, a guy who's one of the most brilliant young men I've ever met in Breitbart Radio. I think we were on SiriusXM that time on Sunday nights with a guy named Maxwell. Ron Maxwell, the director of Gettysburg, came up and introduced us to a young professor at Randolph Macon College. His name was Dave Bratt. And Dave Brad, John McLaughlin, the president's pollster today, John McLaughlin had Dave Brad down by I think 40 or 50 points on the last poll he took on the eve of the election. Some would show that Eric Cantor didn't even show up. He wasn't even down in Richmond on election day. He was up with the lobbyists in Richmond. Dave Brat pulled off the biggest upset, I think, in American political history. Dave Brat, I think had 50 bucks in his campaign and defeated a sitting majority leader, right? A city majority leader. First time in history, in a primary, the history of this republic by, I don't know, 10, 15, 12, 15 points. Fox News couldn't even. They didn't, I mean, they were like flabbergasted. The next day, Facebook was supposed to be there. Zuckerberg, that criminal for a whole thing, a whole big pushout on, on amnesty that was killed and a new Day dawned in American politics. We're gonna have Dave Brad here in a moment. We're gonna talk about populism. We're gonna talk about the Democrats are making a very smart move right now and folks we gotta cut them off at the pass. Johnny Khan part of that Breitbart crew. Short break the Dave Bratt live in the war room. Next. You don't go out and buy a life jacket when the boat is already sinking. I think we actually may get in there live so we're going to reschedule a few things but Ed Dowd is supposed to join us talk about the economy, particularly these projections by the Federal Reserve. Don't think 2028 is the end of it. I would say that we're only at the beginning of a long journey to peace and prosperity. The sunlit uplands that are up ahead, we can see them. Got to chop a little wood before we get there, but they're there. Check it out today and then talk to the team at Birchgold. It's not the price of gold. It's not the fact the price of gold. I don't know, every couple of days seems to hit an all time high. It's the converging forces in geopolitics and in finance and in economics and capital markets that are driving that. That's what you need to learn. Once you learn that, that's one step to your total freedom. Not just your personal freedom, but your financial freedom. Do it today. Check it out. Two things I remiss. The war room engine room reminds me of the third hand. Their embankment was the great Tara Dahl. Tara Dahl, who was at RAV on the morning show, she worked for me for a number of years at Breitbart. She worked with us as chief of staff for General Kellogg in Trump's first term. She's over at the State Department right now. I think she's one of the people that have been assigned to wind down usaid. She's a superstar. So you had Gore Miller and Tara Dahl. Not a bad staff for a young congressman from Minnesota. Not a bad staff at all. Also, just so we get the timeline right in those 30 days, go back to around May 1st of 2014, I went to a cattle call for Breitbart radio. We were then doing Saturday mornings also. I went to a cattle call in New Hampshire. Think it was Hanover, New Hampshire, put on by Dave Bossi in Citizens United. Dave would often do these things for Republican primaries where very early on, a year in advance, you know, six months in advance, nine months in advance, that things really get rolling. He would do these cattle calls so that grassroots leaders, people like yourselves, in the future you will be going to these, that they would be in New Hampshire and Iowa and South Carolina and then a little bit Nevada. But he would do these and allow all the conservative, you know, Citizens United was a grassroots conservative organization. They would all come. He had one in Hanover, New Hampshire, and you had Rand Paul, just been on Time magazine's cover. He was like the man of the moment. You had Rand Paul, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz and Newt and all types of other people just putting their toe in the water, seeing if their message resonated. Just wanted to, maybe I'm going to run four years from now, not now, eight years from now. But I just want to get out there. So I don't know. They had 20 people, 25 people all day. And interesting. A lot of the people that are now prominent in media and have their own shows, the Cassie Hunts, the Katie Turz, those people from the, you know, Fox, they would be the Saturday reporter, These were held on Saturdays. The Saturday reporter doing the standups at this, just to kind of keep their hand on it. At that cattle call, Donald John Trump talked off the top of his head. And I always sit in the back. I was doing Breitbart radio and I just watched and observed Trump's speech. And his nomenclature was like no one else's that talked that day. They all talked in a certain vernacular, they all talked about certain concepts. And it had, what I said, a dryness to it. It was thin. It didn't resonate. Didn't have any, didn't have any. You know, it's like the right stuff. You can't define it, but you can feel it in a room. And Trump and these people leaned in to what Trump said. These are working class, middle class people. It's Basically you on May 1 or 1 May in 2014. It was basically you on a Saturday seeing all these candidates. And I said I'd seen Trump at CPAC and I'd known him since day boss. He'd introduced me back in 2010 and didn't know him well. Right. But keep my eye on, I said that could be the guy. Jeff Sessions said earlier that, you know, Lou Dobbs and Sarah Palin. So they were all, they were all, they weren't going to do it. Right. Sarah Palin didn't run in the primary in 12. Just didn't. Just wasn't her thing. Had that moment, just like Christy had that moment in 12. When they have that moment, you got to grab that moment or you'll lose it. And I saw Trump and I said, I can see this. He speaks differently, he talks about different topics and people lean into it. They want to hear more, they want to understand more. They don't understand anything right now because this guy's really a showman, he's really a media personality. He's really got this huge show and he's also this legendary Donald Trump of the hotels. And it's Trump. But there was a reality there 30 days later, 35 days later, five weeks later, Dave Bratt out of nowhere. And as much as I love Dave Brat, it wasn't about Dave Brett. Dave Brett was a fresh young face. Ron Maxwell was very smart about that. He's a fresh young face. And he was preaching pretty standard, limited government, conservative values, conservatives, conservative ideas. But the Tea Party was up. And what they wanted is the bosses, the political bosses that go that realized the leadership was selling them a bill of goods, particularly on amnesty. They knew that this was not real Dave Brat. And now Politico has a huge short. It's about the Democrats. And this is why I'd be very careful. The Democrats have a blocking function right now in President Trump's revolution. That's the federal courts. This is why Wisconsin's so important. It's the courts where they try to control things. Right now you have a judicial insurrection. I would say almost a judicial coup in the courts, but the courts are a blocking function right now. To deny, to delay is to deny. That's your strategy. But politically, they have to come up with an answer. You have to come up with an answer, and you can tell directionally where their answer's going. This article on Politico Debrett is pretty amazing because it specifically talks about you and what happened back in those days of the Tea party revolt in 2014. Your thoughts, sir?
Grace Chong
Yeah. Well, that's an incredible story. And you were part of all of it the whole way along. And so thanks to you and thanks for all my friends, Hanovers having their big Republican celebration coming up in a week or so. The great county that helped me out so much. And yeah, I was going around giving economic lectures on the Judeo Christian tradition economics, and the press was just mocking me and making fun of me. But I was looking out at the audience and they liked it. They wanted to know what in the world's going on. And so the big difference, I had Tea Party support, right? T stands for taxed enough already. And of course, that, as you always cover, followed the 0708 financial crisis where the Federal Reserve ran interest rates for too low, boom, bust cycle, kind of like we got right now. And that led to a trillion dollar bailout for the banks. And the average person was left behind, as usual. The elites up in Congress just covered it all over. The media didn't cover anything. The Uni Party's going at it. And then you combine that with the immigration issue I ran on, that was just formative right then. It was just, it was trivial compared to what the border invasion is today. But the economics made no sense, right? A family of four coming in, the kids cost 40,000 in education alone without even getting into social services. So that. That was upside down. I was preaching that I was going over Social Security and Medicare and education and the literacy rates. And yesterday I. What? Basically, I knew I had Tea Party support, so I ran with the Republican creed. I said, there's nothing wrong with the creed. It's just that no Republicans follow it. And so yesterday you get President Trump for the first time in 40 years. Reagan was anticipating it somewhat, but Trump on the Department of Education on endless wars. I heard AOC trying to sound like a populist yesterday. She was reading a script. She was not at her best. They're working out this populism. We had true populist anger at Washington D.C. in the leadership, and we had a core Judeo, Christian west message that combined James Madison's logic with Adam Smith's logic. And they wanted a lot of factions competing in the business. They did not want oligarchs. They don't want monopolies. They don't want a monopoly in education. And now we're working that out. We are working our way toward those, back to those ideals that end up with better products, lower prices, all the best outcomes. No wars. A million dead in Ukraine. Where's AOC and Bernie been on the endless wars? And a million dead boys in Ukraine and Russia. Where are they? Where is the old liberal message? Why don't they care about 20% literacy rates in K12 education for the kids in Chicago? Why don't they care about the debt? Right? We're bankrupt on the kids. I didn't hear any of this stuff from them in the last few years, and not enough from the Republican leadership on some of these issues either. So it's all on Trump. And it's this populist message that resonates. And it's a revolution from below. And I don't think the left has it. They're mad. They want power, right? But they want power in search of no particular end, right? No Aristotelian end in mind. It's unethical. It's unmoored to any fundamentals that they want to change. They're just angry. And then they say, oh, you got billionaires on your side. No, no, no, no, no, no. Trump was the first guy in four years that increased wages for blue collar workers. So you guys got it all wrong. And then on the Depression and these tariffs, they're misreporting all this stuff against Trump. All the rich 20. The G20 countries all have double or triple the tariffs. That the US has all these financial channels obscure that they obscure the reasons for the Great Depression. And it's just hype.
Stephen K. Bannon
Hang on. We're, we're get back to you. Johnson and Johnson announces 55 billion into advanced manufacturing here in the good old United States of America. With workers who are going to be United States citizens. They'll start in North Carolina. Another massive investment. Another day, another massive investment. Of course they're Bernie and aoc. Dave's right. I watched him offer it's all Cosmos play. They understand. They've been told by the credentialed class they're still running the deal. And the billionaires, they gotta have a different message. They want to get to this populism. Message complete and totally phony. Short break. Back in a moment.

Here's your host, Stephen K. Ban. Okay, we're gonna get back into this. Also with President Trump. The stuff they're doing day to day. Like the executive order on China to cut off China from our capital markets. Like the. Like another executive order signed yesterday about minerals in the United States using Wartime Powers Act. This is anytime you see Wartime Powers act, use Peter Navarro's hands in back of it. Another executive order. You talk about tariffs, I'm going to get back into Bret the economist, not Brett the elected politician because they misplay the tariffs all the time. And this is what's so funny about Bernie. You can't be populist if you're going to be open borders. AOC populism has to start with protecting American citizens and American workers, baby. So don't come down here and all the happy talk and all you want is open borders and you support the 10 million illegal alien invaders you went down. You crying at the border. You can't rewind this stuff. You can't just look away from that. That's central. Of course you have to restrict the labor pool so that the whole world can't come and compete against American workers, whether it's HB1 visas or all these visa scams to compete against the tech workers. American citizens on their home soil, when it's a home game, shouldn't have to have the world in their country driving down wages for them. Answer that. Answer that, Bernie. Bernie Sanders used to be one of the toughest guys on immigration ever until you had to play ball with the woke Democratic Party. This is the whole thing, the cultural wokeness. You can't just put a little teeny thing of populism. Oh, the billionaires. You created the billionaires. Let me repeat this. The billionaires and the bailouts. And look, Obama got it dumped on him. He ran as an anti war populist, okay, the whole lead up. And it wasn't just Bush, although they had a huge problem. It was the entire apparatus was game for themselves. And when it collapsed, they bailed themselves out. The 2008 collapse, they bailed themselves out. Did you get a ballot? No, you didn't. Most of you or a lot of you got wiped out. But they also simultaneously did a deal in Silicon Valley with the apartheid state or made it an apart even more of an apartheid state than it was to give each one of these nascent oligarchs complete monopolies. That's why Scarborough said we support Lina Kant. We are neobrandisians. We believe that one of the great dangers in the world is concentration of private and government power. Why? I don't know. We've studied history. This is what the American Revolution was about. The American Revolution was about a group of folks here, probably 20% that had idea about a worthless landed aristocracy that had corrupted commons with crony capitalism and payoffs controlled commons. And one of the ways they did it with monopolistic power to get people like the British East India Company, you ever heard of them? The Boston Tea Party. Whose ships were it on? The British East India Company. It was monopolistic corporate, private and governmental power. The great, brilliant and courageous. Because remember, in the revolutionary generation, they not only called the shot, they played the shot. They stood up and said, hey, we get this. If we're going to break off from this empire, this empire is just at its beginning stages, Clive. And what they were doing in India, you had India on the Eurasian southern part of the Asian landmass and you had all of North America because they had already defeated the French. The French and Indian wars in which the colonists were all the troops, essentially. A lot of them got the first idea taking over Canada, right? General Washington as a colonel. The French were basically defeated on the Plains of Abraham. It was their deal, the British deal, and they broke off. Because the foresight of the revolutionary generation speaks down through the ages to us today. It's the exact same thing, the exact same thing as today. Monopolistic corporate power tied to government, tied to an unapproachable government or a representative government that can be bought off. Commons was bought off. That's why Commons wasn't a solution. And that's what they knew. And they were prepared to risk their lives and to fight an eight year war to win and take nothing but defeats. And most of the time up until the very end, because it ain't over if you don't quit. It's not over if you don't quit. Our revolutionary generation in the formation of the country teaches us so much about mankind and the frailties of mankind and how you set up a system that can take all the foibles of mankind and have at least try to have as perfect a system as possible. This is what down through the ages, this is why this country, it's the structure of it, but also how it plays to human nature. And that's where you come in. You are this new revolutionary generation. And I don't care if you're in your 60s or 70s or in your 20s, it's your thinking that's brought it together, your spirit that's brought it together. And you could see that in 14, in May or June of 14, Donald Trump, this billionaire from Queens in Manhattan, there was this media star up in New Hampshire with these Tea Party people on a Saturday in May and then the run up to Dave Bratz and just watching all those Tea Party Dave. Brat's right. Dave Bratt was on fire. He was a man on Fire. Nobody picked it up. Politico, the Hill, none of them, none of your betters, none of the geniuses. They all missed it. They all missed it. Except for a young 20 year old producer who's now Assistant Secretary of the treasury under, oh, randomly Scott Besant. Go figure. And Matt Boyle and Tony Lee and some of these players today, some of the smartest people out there saw it. They could see the future in these two people, not even they themselves, but the converging forces that were coming together of what they represented. And people said the other day when I was talking about the third term project, baby, don't talk to me about long odds. I've seen the longest odds. If you had told people in May or June of 2014 that eventually Donald Trump would win the presidency three times and serve at least up until now two terms, it was idiotic. It was laughable. If he had told that we're going to have a whole populist nationalist revolt and the work in the Republican Party will be looked at at a party talked about by Laura Ingraham through her producer Julia Hahn and the pages of Breitbart, which at that time was being accused of shifting and becoming Trump Pravda. We are in the beginning stages of that whole time and personified by a guy named Dave Brat, some Austrian economics professor at Randolph Macon College. Massive things have small starts. And right now I can tell you when somebody has a track record of seeing through this, I can see exactly what they're doing. They're grafting on because they realized, look at their little sign. Oligarchy. Oligarchy. They created the oligarchs. They went. Because all the oligarchs are all progressive Democrats. They're all progressive Democrats, all of them. Remember, this is why they hate Elon so much. And apostate. They hate apostates more than ever. Look at the religious history. If you're an apostate man, they come after you. Look what they're doing. They're burning down Tesla dealerships, they're intimidating Tesla, his security, he's got to up the security they're living. When you see him out there in the streets, they're freaked out that he was their golden child. For years. Trump's first term, we had to kill the ev, you know, mandate, because there was a huge underwriting of people making $35,000 to guess what, the Sequoia capitals of the world and the Chinese Communist Party and other people are going to be involved in Tesla. But everybody else, Zuckerberg, Bezos, they're Super progressive Democrats, they literally hate everything you stand for. Everything. Your deepest religious and spiritual convictions, the centerpiece of your life, the values that you want to hand down that have been handed down to you from generations from time immemorial to generations still to come. They hate it. They hate it, they despise it, they detest it, and more importantly, they dismiss it. And they were created by the people in the back of the Democratic Party. So, hey, you can put lipstick on that pig all you want, and we will rip it off every day. Because in the core issues of what truly is populism centered around the American citizen and the betterment of this country and its citizens, you are totally and completely phony. Totally, completely phony. Grace Chung, Bill Blaster. We got people got to get up on the ramparts. Two areas. Number one in Wisconsin, number two, for these impeachments to get to the Judiciary Committee, you got to get to work. You got to pound them. Because right now, the main line of defense, the holding action on our revolution, the holding action is in the federal courts. The federal courts and these radical neo Marxists, the same neo Marxist culture that was in that little arena last night in Tempe, Arizona, seething with anger. And I'll tell you something, I've said this before. This country's gonna have one or two solutions. It's either gonna be our solution, we continue to win at the ballot box and we change Congress and we change the entire apparatus and get a better deal, what I call a piece of the action for the American worker, or you're gonna have that seething rage. And it's so phony and right underneath it is violent. Because they're violent people. They're throwing the toys out of the tram pram like little 2 year olds. They're going to get violent. They don't get their way, they're going to get violent. You can see they're getting violent right now. Alex Jones on here the other day, Bill Blaster and our free newsletters, all of it, downloading the podcast, giving review, merch, all of it. It's all participatory. You know why? Because we are actually populist nationalists. Grace Chung.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
Yeah. So let me start with Billblaster. It isn't a feel good app or a side project. Billblaster was made by Populous for Populous. It was created as a tactical tool for the posse, a way for you guys to take real action with operating leverage in your hands. This is how you can bypass gatekeepers and go directly to the source. No more playing games. With the switchboard. Yes. I personally put in all the local district office numbers. So download it, use it, let it rip. You can call their DC Offices and district offices directly. You can also press their contact form. Because they make it so hard for you to email them. You can easily press that, send them a message. That way you can see recent bills. Get real info fast. Save your favorite representatives so you don't waste time and most importantly, put the pressure on. So make sure to download it. It's available on Apple and Google and fire it up and call your representatives. And we need to impeach these judges and really make a statement out there. So.
Stephen K. Bannon
Yeah, hang on, I'm gonna hold you through the. Okay, I'm hold through the break. Go to Bill Blaster, right? You also go to Article 3 or go to Bill Blaster. When you get to Bill Blaster, get to the Judiciary Committee first and then to your own local guy and say, hey, look, we got to impeach. We got to impeach this chief judge of the district Court. He's got to go. We have to put him through the process. We're not opining folks that he will be removed because remember, in impeachment, you're impeached in the House. They sent it to the Senate for a trial. President Trump was impeached twice. Both times he was found not guilty in the trial in the Senate. These judges are not going to be removed by the Senate because it's part of the entire political class apparatus that wants to stop President Trump's populist nationalist program. We understand that, but trust the process. Trust the process. Short break brat. Grace Chong. Ben Harwell. We're going to the White House to also. Back in a moment.
Dave Brat

Host, Stephen K. Band. Yeah, I'm reminded also, I want to thank the engine room for reminding me. I'm also reminded of I want to go back to 2014, into May, into that time with Donald Trump. It was really the first time Trump had spoken at a couple of CPACs, I think 1 in 13 too when he came out. And it didn't play too well because Rand Paul had the young libertarian kids from the colleges there. And President Trump was not where he is today on foreign policy. That was an evolution over time. More so he was against the Iraq War, but more so today non interventionists and want to negotiate and bring peace, peace to strength. But in 14 he Basically, I thought, sent a very clear message. If you could pick that stuff up at this 2014 Dave Bossi sponsored cattle call. And there was a report, Jeremy Peters, who works for the, you know, the New York Times, but as a guy we got to know because he was assigned by the New York Times to cover the conservative movement, particularly the beginning of the Tea Party movement and particularly the kind of online and led by the great personality Andrew Breitbart. The Times had realized Breitbart was a figure of historical significance early on. So they assigned Jeremy to and Jeremy did very fair profiles of Andrew and actually tagged along with Andrew and Andrew's crew on and off for years. So cut to 2014. Andrew had passed away in March. Jeremy had been, I think around since 2009, 2010, that Tea Party big year of the Tea Party Revolt. So in 14, he's actually up in New Hampshire at this. He's one of the young guys that are assigned to because doing Saturday duty is not the duty you want, Right? So he's doing Saturday duty. And actually the New York Times allowed him to be interviewed on Breitbart Radio, which for was a huge thing to have somebody from the mainstream media on there. And he knew the movement very well. We're interviewing Jeremy and he's doing a very good interview and talking about different things. And when he's off, I said, hey, Jeremy, if you hang around, we're going to interview Donald Trump. Mr. Trump's going to come by and Breitbart radio, we're actually going to interview him right here. And the reason was the msnbc, cnn, even Fox wouldn't interview Trump, no interviews. Cause they didn't take him seriously. They thought he was up there just for the Apprentice. Jeremy looks and Jeremy says, steve, there's only one way I think I could get fired by the New York Times. That's if I interviewed Donald Trump. And I go, what are you talking about? Didn't you see? This is the one that really resonated with people. He said nobody takes it seriously. He says, my editors definitely don't take it serious. Think it's all just Donald Trump performance, performance art. And Trump came and gave just an incredible interview. And I remember Matt Boll and Tony Lee and the entire crew were just people. Just people were pumped up because he didn't speak in a political vernacular. He talked in a way that actually resonated right? And boom. Hitching the solar plexus. That's Trump's ability to connect to a mass audience, which is unique. But there's, you can start to see the beginning of it. That was In May of 14 and six weeks later, Dave Brat beats Eric Cantor in political history, the arc of political history for the Republican Party, that was the beginning of the change. Start with the Tea Party. But the Tea Party had many different elements. You see it start to come together there and have elective, really have power to win at the ballot box. Grace Chung I want to make sure everybody has got these tools that you've developed and we've developed to make life easier for people. Particularly now that in the next couple weeks with both what's happening in Wisconsin and particularly with these judges, we have to get on top of these judges because this is the way they put out another. They took Elon, these guys off the Social Security case with 130 page, you know, opinion of a judge to stop things, slow it down until they come back. So they're grinding us to a halt on every front I haven't seen yet. But I know last night we were told that they're filing on the Department of Education. That's all to come. They're all going to. Everything you saw yesterday, President Trump's, you know, taking it down to the deck plates. Like he's taking USAID to the deck plates, taking all these to the deck plates. So that statutorily they're still there, but they're essentially non functioning. That's all being challenged. And they're going to challenge the department. Everything President Trump's doing is being challenged in the courts to slow us down. At the same time, they Try to gin up this phony populist alternative. And here's the thing, also talk to me about the engine room, is that, remember, the oligarchs detest you. They detest everything you stand for, everything you stand for. But they also, culturally, they are aligned with kind of the progressive element, but they also detest those working class people on the left. They detest them, too. So don't think that they love them. That's why this is being manipulated. This is why the credentialed class is still in charge of the Democratic Party with the billionaires in back of them. It's still the credentialed class. Aoc. Remember, she got the job because she came to a gig and she was kind of selected by people who are looking for the perfect hand. She says, oh, I had my awakening. I'm working a shift at a bar. I see Bernie Sanders. That was part of it. But that got her to basically the actors call. Right. The audition at which she auditioned, she's still auditioning. Grace Chung, Bill Blaster. One more time. Where do people go? Because this weekend is a perfect time to download it, learn how to operate it. If you got questions, come back to Grace. But what do people do on Bill Blaster?
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
So it's available in the Apple and Google play store or billblasterapp.org you can download it from there. And just like you said, Steve, you have to trust the process. And the process is the impeachment in the House, which will send a message to the judges. So we need the posse to really fire up Bill Blaster or Article 3 and reach out to your representatives. And I know you guys can do it. We've done it before. This is our forte. So make sure to download Bill Blaster.
Stephen K. Bannon
Yeah, this is, by the way, this is not a long shot, but they have many different other aspects they're looking at for these judges. And they're going to try to have misdirection plays. Look, a guy like Mike Davis, who is a fighter, or Julie Kelly, who had been deeply involved in this, Davis went out of his way to say we should comply with all what the judges say as we go up to the Supreme Court. His thing is now he doesn't think we should comply in this situation as commander in chief with the, with the criminal terrorists from Venezuela. And he also thinks that this has now hit a tripwire where you have to go next level. This is a process and we have to send a signal. Otherwise, I'm telling you, you can see they're going to inundate everything President Trump does. They're going to inundate immediately into a federal court and venue shop to the most progressive of these neo Marxist judges. We're full on political warfare and you have a judicial insurrection that's leading to a judicial couple. So use your bill. Blaster Grace is going to hang around. Dave Brat's going to hang around. Ben Harwell's going to hang around. We're going to the White House. Pete Hexa is going to be in the Oval. We're going to figure it all out in the second hour of the morning show. The war room. Back in a moment.

Episode Summary: "The Democrats’ Faux-Populists, The Tea Party’s Victory" (Episode 4354)
Released: March 21, 2025
Host: Stephen K. Bannon
Guests: Senator Bernie Sanders, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Dave Brat, Grace Chong
In the opening segment, Stephen K. Bannon sets the stage by highlighting a recent rally in Tempe, Arizona, where Senator Bernie Sanders and Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) mobilized thousands to oppose efforts by the Trump administration and billionaire Elon Musk to reshape the federal government. Bannon emphasizes the onslaught against Republicans who vote based on conscience, illustrating how figures like Musk threaten democratic principles by primarizing dissenting voices.
Stephen K. Bannon [00:00]: "That is not democracy. And our fight is to make sure that we remain a democracy. One person, one vote, not billionaires."
AOC and Bernie Sanders delve into the concept of oligarchy in America, arguing that those with immense economic and political power undermine the public good for personal enrichment. They critique the maneuvering of billionaires and their allies in the Republican Party to secure tax breaks and monopolistic advantages.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez [01:03]: "We are witnessing an oligarchy in America. And that is when those with the most economic, political, and technological power destroy the public good to enrich themselves while millions of Americans pay the price."
Bernie Sanders observes an intriguing convergence in populist rhetoric across the political spectrum, noting that both the far left and far right share common ground in their disdain for technocrats and oligarchs.
Bernie Sanders [01:57]: "... it is amazing how like this sort of populist strain comes together at the end of both political spectrums."
The conversation shifts to the historical context of the Tea Party movement's triumph in 2014, with Bannon recounting the strategic developments that led to significant Republican victories. He credits grassroots efforts and key figures like Dave Brat for spearheading a populist nationalist revolution within the Republican Party, distancing it from establishment figures like Mitt Romney.
Stephen K. Bannon [05:52]: "The Tea Party reached out. I chaired a meeting actually at the Breitbart Embassy. It was the first time all the Tea Party heads came together because a lot of them were suing each other and they made an outreach to Romney and just had no interest whatsoever."
Dave Brat, a pivotal figure in this movement, is lauded for his unexpected primary victory over Eric Cantor, symbolizing the effective dismantling of establishment Republican leadership.
Stephen K. Bannon [05:48]: "Dave Brat pulled off the biggest upset, I think, in American political history. Dave Brat, I think had 50 bucks in his campaign and defeated a sitting majority leader, right?"
Bannon and Sanders discuss the pervasive influence of billionaires in politics, particularly focusing on Elon Musk's antagonistic stance toward Republicans who oppose his agenda. They argue that the consolidation of wealth and power among a few undermines democratic institutions and equitable governance.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez [01:57]: "... they are turning to loot what is left of Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security to bankroll even deeper tax cuts and sweetheart contracts for themselves, their fellow billionaires and their corporations."
Sanders further critiques the Democratic Party's entanglement with oligarchic interests, pointing out that even progressive figures like Lina Khan are seen favorably by those opposing concentrated power.
Bernie Sanders [03:58]: "People actually say positive things about Lina Khan too, because they hate a concentration of power."
AOC and Sanders contend that the Democratic Party's embrace of populist rhetoric is superficial and misaligned with genuine grassroots concerns. They argue that Democratic leaders like AOC are merely echoing populist nationalism without committing to substantive policy changes that benefit the average American.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez [02:58]: "That is the message the Democrats should run with oligarchy, it is. They are getting rich, you are getting nothing. And they need to just go hard at that."
AOC introduces tools like Bill Blaster, an app designed to empower constituents to directly contact their representatives, emphasizing grassroots activism over top-down leadership.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez [41:17]: "Download it, use it, let it rip. You can call their DC Offices and district offices directly."
Bannon wraps up the discussion by reiterating the ongoing struggle between Republican populists and Democratic oligarchs. He underscores the importance of maintaining momentum within the Republican base to counteract Democratic strategies aimed at diluting true populist movements. The episode concludes with a call to action for listeners to engage in political activism to preserve democratic values against entrenched oligarchic forces.
Stephen K. Bannon [53:09]: "Our revolutionary generation in the formation of the country teaches us so much about mankind and the frailties of mankind and how you set up a system that can take all the foibles of mankind and have at least try to have as perfect a system as possible."
Episode 4354 of "Bannon's War Room" presents a critical examination of the evolving populist landscape within American politics. Through incisive dialogue between Bannon, Sanders, AOC, and other guests, the episode dissects the convergence of populist ideologies across the political spectrum and the resultant challenges to democratic integrity. Emphasizing the necessity of grassroots activism and vigilance against oligarchic control, the discussion serves as a clarion call for listeners to engage actively in safeguarding democratic principles.
