Real quickly, Ben Harnwell, I got a quick update of the expanding war. It's a slugfest now between Ukraine and Russia, is it not, sir?

It is, Steve. And this is something that the war room has had its eyes on since the Ukrainian attack on nuclear triad back on June the first, where we've been expecting a response. We had a big response on Friday. We had the largest to date response from Russia on Ukraine, 400 drones fired. And then last night to date, 471 drones launched by Russia on Ukraine. No fatalities recorded. Ukrainians say that they have intercepted all But I think 10 of the drones and the 20 missiles that were actually launched. But Steve, here's the point, here's the point. US Intelligence, and this is something that Reuters was carrying, US Intelligence has said that they don't believe this is the response in full from Russia on response to the triad attack. They're quoting Reuters here. They're quoting the actual response. When it comes, it will be huge, vicious and unrelenting. So what we're seeing at the moment, I'd say is basically the aperitivo to the main course. This is warming things up. This is, Steve, as you've been saying really from the beginning of the invasion to watch out here for the escalation right through. I'll make a couple of points that. But on the back of this, Mark Rutte, the new Secretary General, former Prime Minister of the Netherlands, now Secretary General of NATO, is in London today speaking to the famous Chatham House. I don't know what's happened to the Chatham House rules, but he's actually announced beforehand what he's going to be saying there. He's calling for a 400% increase on air and missile defense across NATO. And as a response to that, Steve, I haven't been able to mention this on the show beforehand, but I'll flag this up now. A couple of months ago, Italy actually said it was going to be it already started increasing its defense expenditure to try to move somewhat towards President Trump's request not to increase the 2% limit to 3% but to 5%. It's since emerged that what Italy was actually doing was counting existing expenditure. It was reevaluating it and considering it. Now this is defense expenditure. Typically we're talking about sort of Coast Guard protection, which they were now, you know, from, from, from the invasion from Africa. They're now saying this is actually defense expenditure. So this will count towards our 5%. Steve, let me flag this point up now for any, for the warming policy. If President Trump is serious that his NATO allies need to raise their expenditure, defense expenditure from 2% to 5%, the US needs to be equally serious about monitoring the increase in expenditure and make sure these are genuine increases and not just examples of dodgy accounting. Because it's not only the Italians that will play this game. They are obviously the experts in dodgy accounting. But with the economic climate that exists across Europe, looking at Germany heading into recession, the EU's largest economy, the pressures are going to be on to do something. So let me repeat that point, Steve, and I'll get back to you. If President Trump is serious about having NATO increase its defense expenditure from 2% to 5%, the US itself needs to be equally serious about monitoring that expenditure. Probably they need to increase their representatives there because I tell you this for nothing, Steve, the wily Europeans, unless the, the US Is equally serious about this, the wily Europeans are going to, to run, wrap the US around their little finger.

Today it was reported by the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force that the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning CV16, their first aircraft carrier, has crossed past and is operating east of Iwo Jima, which is the second island chain. So the first island chain comes down through Honshu, Kyushu, and runs through the Ryukyu Islands and touches the northern tip of Taiwan and then touches down on Luzon. That's the first island chain about 400, 500 miles east of the mainland of China. The second island chain comes down from basically Tokyo Won or Tokyo Bay, that comes down through Iwo Jima and then runs down to Guam and then down into the Indonesia and the lower islands down there, the Pacific islands. That's the second island chain. And heretofore the Chinese have never operated their aircraft carrier east towards America, east of the second island chain. And now it's being reported that they're operating east of the second island chain. And the Japanese have provided us images of the carrier Liaoning being refueled by underway replenishment by a fleet refueler, just like we do.

So this is a big deal in the sense that it's another signpost in the strategic trend line of what China has been doing over the last 18 years or so. Remember in October 26, 2006, the Chinese sent a submarine to east of the first island chain, not the first time, but they sent one east of the first island chain. And it popped up behind my old ship, the USS Kitty Hawk, on October 26, 2006. And it was the first time that we had kind of had a Chinese submarine operate within 3, 4 miles of U.S. aircraft carrier. Was a big shock to everyone, even though they had operated out there. Go ahead.

The Pacific is very important. You're going to. You're writing this up right now for American greatness. This entire concept of the, of the Navy and the Pacific and how important this is.

Right. And the point is there's a strategic trend line. The Chinese are on a trajectory upwards while the US Navy is on a trajectory downwards. Over the last 30 years.

And we have a serious problem. And America's national security has been guaranteed not just by ground and land power alone. It has been predominantly because of our maritime power. He's put an emphasis, an executive order, on restoring America's maritime power. But now we're into the crunch time, into the details, and we need to look at the Big Beautiful bill and ask ourselves, what are we funding from the Department of defense? Yes, it's 13% bigger budget. It's $1 trillion. That's good. But are we still paying for land centric warfare tools and systems and personnel, or are we trying to restore the thing that's going to defend our nation from an outside attack from the People's Republic of China?

These are Marxist Leninists. They want to tear the country down, destroy the political, economic, and social order. And some of these groups specifically want to take, like, eight states and carve them out and create their own country. So this isn't about, you know, peaceful protests. This is about war against the United States. And we're dealing now with state and local officials who are really, I think, dancing along the knife's edge of this is insurrection. This is openly siding with and supporting individuals who are trying to destroy the country. We're teetering on the edge of civil war there. And that's not hyperbole. So how do you deal with it? I think you got to push back really hard. I don't think you can tolerate a governor of a state telling you that he's going to side with individuals fighting the federal government. I think we went down this road right in the 1860s.

That's the same principle coming from Richmond, Virginia. I thought we settled that since they burned my hometown to the ground. What's this thing? Aslat? Aslat. Aslan. They want to carve out six or seven states. You're saying this is part of the Chicano movement that feels that we're the illegal invaders. Walk me through that.

And basically what it says is that all of the land that ever used to belong to Mexico, arguably anywhere in the United States, was illegally taken by the United States government. And they're going to take it and carve it out and create their own new country in this name. I have as much trouble pronouncing it as you did is taken deliberately. It's a reference to the Aztecs. So their intent is to secede, to carve out, to take a large chunk of the land mass of the United States. And that isn't like two guys sitting around talking about that. I mean, that's at the heart. Those are the biggest groups at the heart of what's happening in Los Angeles right now.

So when you see Gavin Newsom and all these Democrat governors saying that they don't want President Trump to federalize the National Guard, you know, it's kind of interesting, Steve, because every time there's a natural disaster that happens in these states, they are so quick and desperate for federal assistance and yet when their cities are literally burning on fires and there's riots going on, they don't want the federal assistance. It's because they're trying to instigate these riots. They're trying to invite them in because they know it serves a political purpose. And it's so sad to see foreign flags flying in our once great American cities like Los Angeles. And they're soyou know, it's open season for them right now. So we have to, you know, stand with President Trump against this lawlessness that's occurring in our cities. But it's a clear example, a divide between the America first movement and versus these Marxist radical left movement that's consumed the Democrat Party because that's what's happening here. These Democrat governors no longer are there moderates in the Democrat Party and I think yesterday is evidence of that. Since every single Democrat governor signed onto that letter with Gavin Newsom. It's going to be concerning. And as somebody who served my country, what a shame to have a Marxist at war on the homeland. The threat is here at home, Steve. It's something that you and I have been saying this for quite a, quite a long time.

But now I remember when I first met you, Congressman, this is one of the reasons you wanted to run for public Office. You said, hey, I came back here. I don't recognize the place in this war is not just in the Middle East. It's just not on the Eurasian landmass. It's here at home, and we're facing it today. You brought up a fact yesterday. The Mexican flags, the Palestinian flags, all of them was obvious. You had a foreign. A strong foreign contingent, kind of driven by people that are not citizens of the United States, or if they somehow they've been able to steal it, they have no allegiance to the United States. Remember, citizenship has to come with allegiance to this country. And you brought up something to me a couple weeks ago, and now you've taken action on it, that if you go over the halls of Congress, you not just have the American flag, you get all the flag. It looks like you're in the United Nations. Right? That's not what it's supposed to be. Walk me through what upsets you and what are you doing about it, sir.

Yeah, Steve, it's actually worse than that, because. So if you walk through the halls of Congress, I think this is a recent trend, Steve. This is about 10 years ago, it really started picking up. But you walk through the halls, and it's no longer just the American flag and your state flag and a POW flag or a military flag. You walk through and you see all sorts of foreign flags, Ukrainian flags, the Palestinian flags. You see the LGBTQ flag on almost every Democrat congressman's door. And we have to clean up this place because if thisif our country's to remain united. You know, I was just overseas in Hungary. I visited their parliament building. What do you see? You only see the Hungarian flag over there. And yet here we are in the halls of Congress, and you have this allegiance to an ideology that's foreign, this Marxist ideology with the LGBTQ agenda. And then you also. Some of them have BLM flags, too, but then you also have foreign flags proudly displayed on the same level as the United States flag and the states that they represent. And what does that say to these congressmen? Because here, when I served, and you served, too, Steve, we had to wear the American flag on our right shoulder sleeve because we knew what we were fighting for. And yet these Congress members, you know, they put the United States on the same pedestal as these foreign nations. And this is no disrespect to any of our allies. You know, it's common sense. So what I've introduced is a resolution, a House resolution, to ban all foreign flags from the halls of Congress with some exceptions. Some of those exceptions are that you can have tribal flags, right? So for their Native American flags, you could have the state flag, you can have the POW flag, you could have the Armed services flag, and you can even have a foreign flag displaying outside if you're getting a visit by a diplomat for. On an official visit, like a temporary basis. Because, of course, we want to honor and respect our allies as well. But this is not in any way attempt to disrespect these foreign nations. It's a way to honor our nation. And that requires our halls of Congress, which is the most important legislative body in the world. We have to act like it, and we have to have sole allegiance to the United States of America. It's what Teddy Roosevelt always talked about. You know, that's why, although I'm the son of immigrants, Steve, I rarely mention it. You know, I never say I'm a hyphenated American. I am an American, and that's what it requires. Citizenship is so important, and we have to act like it here in the halls of Congress. And unfortunately, my Democrat colleagues, some of my Republican colleagues, they're so quick to fly foreign flags, and instead, we have to proudly wave the red, white, and blue. And remember, we are at war right now. It's an ideological battle that has obviously taken over the streets of our cities, but it's come to the halls of Congress as well.

We have to recognize the seriousness of this. I fully support what you're doing. Can't you just go the Speaker? Doesn't he run the deal over there? Can't you go to the speaker and do it? You're trying to put through legislation, right? That. Can't the speaker, like the President's got the executive order power throughout the country. Doesn't the speaker run the deal over the. Over the different offices? And can't he just say, hey, I'm taking Abe's thing, I'm putting it out as my own prerogative, and then it happens, or does it not work like that?

So that's why what I've introduced is a House resolution and not a bill. So this all requires a majority vote for the House of Representatives. However, there's a House Administration Committee that does police our own buildings here, and that's what my House resolution does. It's only for the buildings that we control. And by the way, Steve, this doesn't preclude, you know, a member of Congress. I'm not going to impede on their First Amendment right. If they want to display an LGBTQ flag or a Ukrainian flag or a Palestinian Flag or whatever inside their own personal office they are free to but no Speaker Johnson, he can't just unilaterally do this on his own. However, we're looking at mechanisms. I believe that the House Admin Committee may be able to do it but I think a House resolution would make it a little bit more permanent and binding for future for future Congresses. So that's why we're going to House resolution view because I think that avenue is a lot quicker to do. You don't need to toss it over to the Senate. You don't need the President to sign it. It's just requires a majority vote of each congressmember.
