Right i mean i think it's important to remember that five years ago nobody expected something like trump's sustained effort to overturn the twenty twenty election famously one top administration official told the washington post you know what's the harm in humoring him it's not like he's going to try to stay there nobody imagined a mob trying to overrun the capitol so a lot of things that i think we just can't imagine are on the table one of the things that worried me most in addition to how concerned these generally sober people are was just the number of ways that somebody who wanted to subvert the election system could do it there are ways to mess with the rules ahead of the there are ways to suppress votes in the moment there are ways to try to get votes thrown out or to get elections overturned or simply not to seat the winners as in that nineteen eighty five example potentially so it's a it's sort of a full court press and people who want to defend the system have to be looking at any number of options and be ready for things that would have been unimaginable in the.

Past you do talk about things that happened the last time around and how they might happen again and how donald trump might in a better position to have the folks around him act on his impulses one of them you know he wanted to deploy the troops he wanted to seize voting machines we're seeing him deploy troops to american cities he might not be deploying them or he might not have to specifically deploy them to polling places in some scenarios they might already be there as he argues they're there to fight crime and the like so can you just help me understand more of the actual potential scenario as you laid it out yeah sure.

So part of the question is guessing at what they might want to do and cleta mitchell who is an influential lawyer who is close to the white house and very involved in election issues has said recently she said you know that trump might need to call in a national emergency to protect sovereignty and seize control of the voting system it's a little bit difficult to know what that means and she didn't answer my questions about what specifically that would be the law prevents calling out troops or armed men in general according to the language to the polls federal troops or federal law enforcement but if you put those people in the streets already whether that's the sort of operations we're seeing in major cities or the ones that we're seeing threatened in other major cities you're going to have troops already there by the time the election rolls around and people are going to be if not used to it it's going to be something they don't react to as a sort of frantic escalation and that might be something that intimidates some voters from staying home from the polls but it might also be the kind of thing that simply creates hassles it makes it very hard to get around because there are roadblocks and there's heavy equipment and there's all these things and suddenly getting to the polls and casting your vote is going to just take too long and you're not going to vote so even these things that aren't major intimidation can start to suppress the vote and in the kind of close elections we might get and in a very close election for house overall those little things on the margins can make a.

Administration well it was unbelievable and it started almost ten years ago and you know this it started first with them taking a political document from the other parties campaign the clinton campaign through the law firm perkins coie who hired the public relations firm fusion gps who hired a foreigner christopher steele who wrote this garbage document called the dossier that they used to get warrants to spy on another party the republican party president trump's campaign and then they were off and running from that point on and it's been one thing after the other and right now we're focused in on john brennan who we think lied you're not supposed to lie you're definitely not supposed to lie when you're under oath talking to congress and that's exactly what it looks like mister brennan did so we referred him last week and then of course more to the arctic frost which was this investigation from the special counsel jack smith we want jack smith to come in and talk to us and we want him to come in and talk to us under oath because two of his deputies when they came in exercised their fifth amendment liberty seventy one and seventy three times respectively to questions like was this a political focused operation to go after president trump i take the fifth we ask him how many other people in addition to the eight senators we learned about a few weeks ago that you were surveilling how many other people in congress or else were you looking into getting their phone records on i take the fifth so we want to go back and get some answers to some pretty important questions particularly steve when you and i know you've talked about this a lot when you look at how what jack smith the gag order on the president raiding his home trump tried to intimidate and bribe one of the defendant's lawyers then they get the phone records of eight members of congress two of their deputies take the fifth and before jack smith investigation is started before the special counsel started some of the guys who became his deputies took the phone of a sitting member of congress so yeah we want to find out what's going on in this arctic frost stuff now we've learned it's broader more expansive than we thought including names like yours and you know you've been through this golly you've felt it firsthand up close and personal so this is why it's important jack smith come in and answer the questions of the committee.

Ma' am on the very the document was released today now let's also give a shout out to cash patel because all of these documents were classified and what cash did was he declassified them and turned them over to the house judiciary committee and there are almost two hundred pages of documents now some of them they're largely redacted lots of gobbledygook but what we know from this is that in twenty twenty two early twenty twenty two that the fbi asked for a budget of sixteen thousand dollars to travel to several states and the people they said they were going to interview you look at the list it's all the trump electors so that's where it started and they conducted all the interviews and there were interviews of electors not just in the states where they ultimately charged the electors fake criminal charges but also new mexico pennsylvania people who are state legislators people who are party officials it's beyond description to look at the target list but the most important point is that these state ags these four democrat state ags dana nestle in michigan josh call in wichigan aaron ford in nevada chris mays in arizona and fannie willis in atlanta georgia they were all acting as proxies for the biden doj and there are going to be more documents i'm told that come out and will name the actual attorneys at the doj who were orchestrating all of it i'm absolutely persuaded we know that norm eisen and his five hundred one c three actually wrote the indictments and did the legal briefs for the prosecutions in conjunction with the doj that those are the ones that were brought in arizona because there was a filing that inadvertently showed that the brief was actually prepared by states united for democracy which is norm eisen c three so to argue that somehow these people cannot be pardoned by president trump because these are state proceedings no these are puppet prosecutors who filed the charges at the behest of the biden doj and we see it all started with the investigations it was all part is a whole tentacle of arctic frost.
