A major projection. CNN can now project that the Texas Attorney General, Ken Paxton, will defeat the incumbent, Republican Senator John Cornyn. It's a huge win for President Trump, who upended this race in recent days by endorsing Paxton and declaring that Cornyn, who has served in the Senate for 24 years, was not loyal enough to him. This outcome has major implications for this November, with Democrats sensing an opportunity to win this seat against Paxton, who has been plagued by scandal during his political career.
Ken Paxton
To the people watching at home and to the people of the great state of Texas, tonight we just made history. I want to thank my family, my kids, my grandchildren, the Paxton patriots, and every single person here today. Without your love, your support and your prayers, we would not be here tonight celebrating this incredible victory. I'd also like to thank all of the grassroots, local, state and national leaders who supported this campaign, including Congressman Brandon Gill, who just spoke Lance Gooden, Congressman Nels, Congressman Wesley Hunt, and Congressman Ronnie Jackson. I'd also like to thank Scott Pressler and Turning Point Action. And Turning Point Action for their endorsements. And then there's one person who I think you might know. President Donald J. When everyone in Washington told him to abandon me and abandon the people of Texas, he didn't listen. Instead, he gave his complete and total endorsement. President Trump is the leader of our party and his endorsement in this most power is the most powerful force in politics. And I'm honored to have his support and I look forward to working with him in the Senate to deliver for Texas. He's a threat to our prosperity and Texas economy. He said you can't be a Christian if you support the oil and gas industries. Want to raise your tax, he wants to raise your taxes. And he won't do a single thing to lower costs for you and your family. And finally, he's a threat to our very way of life and our values. I mean, he's a vegan who thinks God is non binary and that there's actually six biological sexes. It's hard to imagine someone more radical than that.
Democratic Commentator
Ken Paxton embodies the broken political system that we're running against. He is the most corrupt politician in America. Three years ago tomorrow, he was impeached by his own party for using his public office, his position of public trust, to enrich himself and his donors at our expense. And that is exactly the problem in our politics. It's puppet politicians who serve themselves and their billionaire mega donors instead of serving us. It's why we can't afford anything. It's why we can't get ahead. No matter how hard we work, the system is rigged by corrupt politicians like Ken Paxton.

And that is your matchup for the Texas Senate seat.

And every Democrat runoff election, every Democrat in America, Willie says thank you. Because what they have just done, what by this guy right here, by overwhelmingly doing it, which is again, all people said, oh, there needs to be a strong Republican. Really? This is what the Republican primary gives you? No, no, I don't think there needs to be a strong Republican Party, especially if this is what the Republican party produces in 2018.
Political Analyst
We thought that Trump was passing moment and now it feels far more existential.
Conservative Strategist
I mean, that's one thing.

keep talking about the salary go strategy. But Jim, what about you? What are these?
Political Analyst
I mean, this was an absolute shellacking blowout.
Conservative Strategist
I don't know what you want to call it. What do you think it means?
Political Commentator
Well, it means that Donald Trump is clearly in charge of the modern Republican Party and he gets whatever he wants, whenever he wants it in the primary. The problem is we're about to go into a general election season and he continues to want to nominate the worst candidates. You talked about this earlier. They are spend hundreds of millions of dollars trying to prop up Trump's slate of deluded Republicans here. And the question is in the general, they will need every single dollar they can get their hands on. You know, and you talked about the turnout and I think it's really interesting in the elections, We've seen over 100 elections since Trump came in office. Democrats are overperforming by about 10 points. But when you look at why, it is because Republicans are not turning out in massive numbers. Their people aren't are angry. As Chuck was saying, they're getting everything they want. And that's with normal Republicans. You put a guy like Ken Paxton at the top of the ticket. It's not that suddenly a bunch of Republicans may vote Democratic, maybe that happens. But probably what happens is that a whole bunch of people just don't vote. And we'll take it whatever we can get it because when you try to get to 50%, you'll take it any way you can. Get in.

Trump up and at him this morning, weighing in on his big victory in Texas. On social media, congratulating Ken Paxton, who Trump clearly helped secure a massive win. Trump also is praising Senator John Cornyn today, saying that you look right there. John will remain my friend for a long time to come. Remember, he called John Cornyn disloyal a hot second ago. Paxton trounced John Cornyn, though, last night, winning nearly two thirds of the vote

from Texas Republicans on the Republicans in Texas desperately trying to seize defeat from the jaws of victory.
Stephen K. Bannon
Well, Texas is always fascinating, not least because if you think about the last 60 or 70 years, when John Tower won LBJ seat in 1961, it was a signal of what was about to happen over the next couple of decades in Southern Republican politics. First Republican since Reconstruction with John Tower, which encouraged people like young George H.W. bush to challenge Ralph Yarborough in 1964, begin to make the state a little more competitive. And you wonder, even in this deeply polarized world whether a nomination like Paxton begins to put the country, begins to put Texas and parts of the country back in a, in a post, the beginning of a post Trump place to

me does look healthy, but. Go ahead, John.

But the central, central question is of the last 11 years, will we know in 2028 whether this has been the age of Trump, which indisputably it's historically, or is it the age of Trumpism? And that test begins this fall,

Wednesday, the 27th of May, in the year of our Lord 2026. Obviously a massive victory yesterday because of this audience and all the grassroots groups in Texas and other grassroots groups throughout the country that came to the assistance of Ken Paxton really started revving this up in January with the the anti sharia law, proposition 10 to put some fire and what was going on down in Texas. And man, the Texas grassroots really stepped up. Of course, the mainstream media has it all incorrect. But that's okay. The lazy journalism is a huge advantage for us because they never really understand what's going on and they're not smart enough or really hardworking enough to get to the bottom of it. Ken Paxton was up by, I don't know, 10 or 11 points. Then President Trump came in and the coup de Grace added another 15 or 20 points to absolutely crush not just Cornyn, but the Texas establishment, the Senate leadership Fund. All this won't even mention Ken Paxton's name this morning. Right? They're humiliated. But this is going to have national implications because now it's time. In addition to getting ready and getting ready to beat Alfred E. Newman, as the president referred to him this morning on a true social a guy, I just don't know if Texas is ready to vote for the United in the United States Senate. A guy that looks like he plays with dolls. I Just don't think that's going to happen. I told Politico last night I think it's a five plus win, but it's going to be very tough, and the Democrats are going to put in hundreds of millions of dollars. But now I think we have to turn to the matter at hand on a national basis, and that is John Thune in the Senate. We are going to lose the Senate unless you get the grassroots fire you saw in Texas. We are going to lose in North Carolina. We are going to lose in Ohio. You're going to lose in Maine, unless the grassroots are motivated. How the grassroots get motivated, understanding that the Senate is doing their job. And I am of the belief that John Thune just can't do it. He's had more than enough time. He's basically confronted President Trump and treating President Trump like a lame duck. It's time to make some big moves. I've got Brian Harrison and of course, Talarico went right back to the impeachment. We'll get to that. And part of the start of, of Ken Paxton's journey. I want to start with Caroline Wren. Caroline, you've been at this from the beginning. You're one of the architects that came up with the idea of Ken Paxton gambling, all by saying, hey, you know, call in the bluff of Cornyn and say, go past the Save America act with Thune, with your partner. Thune and I will drop out. What are your thoughts? What's your assessment of where we are in this? Ma', am,
Conservative Strategist
I think that, like, last night wasn't just a regular Senate primary. It was a referendum on who leads the Republican Party and the Texas Republican answer loudly, which is that the grassroots are in charge. And this race was true. It was a choice between what the old Republican model, the Bush dynasty of obsession over seniority, committee chairmanships, Washington relationships. It was that versus a movement that was built on fighting disruption and delivering on America first priorities. And Ken Paxton won that out. He didn't obsess or focus on Washington endorsements and money. He focused on the grassroots and people at home in Texas. And they. They noticed, and they overwhelmingly voted for him because he actually fights for the people. And so this is a big lesson, I think, for Republicans nationwide, is that voters are no longer rewarding things like seniority. They're rewarding people they believe will actually use their power to fight for them at home. And so I hope the rest of the national GOP wakes up to that. But this was a big, big victory for Ken Paxton.
Host/Moderator
Now, Cornyn Last night, gave his concession, I guess, speech or talk to a very small room in Austin, Texas, in some hotel, very small room. 100% of the people in the seats were journalists. There were no. He had no supporters. And it's interesting, he said he went on this mantra of how many state representatives, how many members of Congress, how many members of the Senate, how many endorsements he had from local all the way up. I mean, it was a mantra of the old power structure of the state of Texas, of which Ken Paxton, the reason Karl Rove and these guys hate him so much, he's the one that took down Jeb Bush's son in an AG race. So you're correct. I mean, the dismantling of the. But it hasn't been dismantled. The confrontation and defeat, particularly when they had $150 million to destroy Ken Paxton is a inflection point. How does this now, how do we now pivot on this, Caroline Wren? Because if the rest of the country, if North Carolina, in Maine, in Kansas, in Alaska and Iowa in Ohio don't get this grassroots which is out there, the grassroots want to do this. They want to use Texas as an example, you're going to lose these Senate seats. Money doesn't matter anymore. They spent $150 million trying to destroy the grassroots and Ken Paxton personally, and we beat them. So what is your recommendation? What has to happen in Washington now?
Conservative Strategist
Well, I think with the grassroots, I think we need to demand that each one of these Senate candidates running, even if they're incumbent, say that they are going to nuke the filibuster and pass the Save America Act. I think the grassroots expect that and want to see it. And if that candidate does, then they should turn out in full force for them. You know, ultimately I want a Republican majority, but right now is where we have leverage and we don't. The base can and will stay home if they're not excited about a candidate. And so I think we need to really be vocal about the things that we are looking for to reelect these folks and send them back to Washington. And if they're willing to do that, I think it's the most important thing. I think getting Trump's agenda through requires us nuking the filibuster. And so that's what needs to be done. You know, the only one I give a pass maybe on that would be Susan Collins. But there's no excuse for people like Dan Sullivan, you know, Michael Whatley, I'm sure will come out and say that I haven't seen what John Houston has said about in Ohio and so in Iowa, same deal. Want to know where those candidates stand on that, because the grassroots, we need to use our leverage right now.
Host/Moderator
Can you hang on for one second, Carolina? I've also got Brian Harrison. Brian's going to join us momentarily and I want to thank we're going to get Patriot Mobile on other grassroots leaders and we'll do this over the next couple of days. The effort in Texas was monumental, and it started with this audience in other conservative voices and conservative groups. This is your victory. $150 million spent to destroy the grassroots in Texas. Tell them this is your place. Shut up and sit down. And the personal destruction of Ken Paxton, they're all whining about, oh, it's going to take millions of dollars. That's not true. But if it was true, it's because the folks running the campaign putting in the money and the Senate leadership wanted Ken Paxton destroyed. It didn't happen. A monumental win, a blowout win on the backs of the grassroots that had their champion and Ken Paxton, the attorney general of the great state of Texas. Short commercial break Brian Harrison, CAROLINE wren, Patriot Mobile Next in the war room, The dollar's convertibility into gold ended in 1971. Gold was fixed at $35 an ounce. Caroline Wren, I know you got to bounce. And by the way, for all the grassroots, we're going to get more into this today throughout the day and tomorrow you have plenty of time to talk about this victory and what it means to November. President Trump came out with a congratulations, Ken Paxton. And we want to thank President Trump for stepping in here and putting the light out on Cornyn. He referred to Talarico as Alfred E. Newman. Once again, I don't think you get a better description. I say I'm not so sure Texas is going to vote for a vegan seminarian who plays with dolls. Your thoughts about November? I'm saying it's going to be a five point win with the same intensity we had for the primary, for the runoff. It's a five point win if we get the job done. Your thoughts, ma'? Am?
Conservative Strategist
Oh, yeah, I think, I think you're right on the five point win. I mean, James Talarico is a freak who thinks God is non binary. He used the Bible to say the Virgin Mary would support abortion. He declared Jesus Christ a radical feminist. He says atheists are more Christ like than Christians. He called men and women's sports a far right conspiracy. He believes there are six biological sexes. He wants to abolish both prisons and ice. I mean, Ken Baxter is going to have a field day with this guy. He does doesn't even remotely represent Texas or he's a vegan for goodness sakes. And so Paxton is definitely going to win, but I think that he's going to need our help. The Washington D.C. establishment is not going to help him. He needs going to need money. So everyone needs to go to kenpaxson.com and donate to Kim Paxton's campaign. The grassroots has to remain fully locked in and supportive of him in this race because we need, need, need Kim Paxton in D.C. and we cannot have this weirdo James Talarico.
Host/Moderator
You know, they talked about Meacham said, oh, is it going to be Trump? This is the age of Trump. Is going to be Trump or Trumpism? They're inextricably linked and clearly Trumpism is going to in the Trump agenda is going to move forward. Is it perfect every day? No, it's not perfect every day. It's got a few rough edges on it. Every now and again, maybe a policy or two that pops up. You go, hey, I didn't know we were doing that. That's okay. There's going to be a cabinet meeting today. It's the way President Trump rolls, right? If you're on for the ride, you're on for the ride. This whole thing about the grassroots now to me should be much more confrontational in Washington D.C. we've kind of stepped back a little bit in the Senate and this look, the House and the redistricting effort fight was a grassroots fight from the beginning. You see what we've done. Only when you get the establishment involved, like in South Carolina last night, which is a horrible tragedy. Of course he's now accusing like Jack Bosobic of taking money. Just bald faced lies. When the Lieutenant governor there has done such an amazing job. She's just been such a warrior. But the House is within a fighting chance now of holding serve. That is because of the redistricting efforts in the grassroots in the local communities and districts getting on fire. This is my concern about the Senate. You just don't see the fire there because people are saying what are these guys done? They think with money and just sitting back and doing nothing, they're going to get it. That's not going to happen. What is your recommendation for once again for the grassroots to basically make some power moves in Washington D.C. to save the Senate from the NRSC, the Senate leadership Fund. All these guys have put the $150 million to destroy the grassroots and to personally destroy Ken Paxton. Right. And just got a what, a 26, 28 point blowout. Almost 30 point blowout. What is your recommendation, ma'? Am?
Conservative Strategist
Well, right now we're still in primary season and it's incredibly important we get great conservatives that are in the Trump mold to step in and win these primaries. And so you just mentioned South Carolina. I agree. I'm all in for Lt. Governor Pamela Evitt to be the next governor. I'm hoping Trump does that endorsement soon. She is exactly who we need to have. I've known her for a long time. She is MAGA through and through. We've got this Georgia runoff coming up. I don't know Derek Dooley, but I like Mike Collins a lot. And frankly, I don't want to just hand Dooley is Kemp's guy and I don't want to just hand over to the Kemp operation their chosen candidate. So I hope Trump weighs in on that and I hope it ends up being Mike Collins. He's endorsed Bert Jones in the governor's race. We got to get Bert Jones over the finish line. He's running into a guy, Rick Jackson, who's a Liz Cheney donor. That's another self funder pouring in hundreds of millions. So let's get these good conservative America first candidates through these primaries and then we'll really reassess where we need to focus on for this general election and who deserves really our hard work to get over the finish line.

Thank you. Thank you for all your hard work and your efforts. Thank you for going heading out to Texas. Appreciate you. Brian Harrison. This morning they're making Talarico starts with the impeachment of Ken Paxton, everything like that. This, this journey started with the, with Paxton, with taking down Jeb Bush's son for the Attorney General. Then we got the impeachment, we've got all of it. What are your thoughts after you've been one of the toughest and they've singled you you out because you've been such a warrior for the grassroots. What are your thoughts this morning, sir? About this race?
Brian Harrison
Yeah, they tried to take me out in this, this March primary as well. They failed miserably. And look, look, here's the thoughts. I mean it's three, three years ago today. Not just the day, maybe even to the hour. It was a Saturday morning exactly three years ago today when fake Republicans. I got to point this out. James Talarico, my colleague in the Texas House, he was wrong. He says he was impeached by his own party. That's not true. He was impeached by people who pretend to be Republicans. He was impeached by fake Republicans, by Rhinos in the Texas House. And just. I served as almost 90 Republicans in the Texas House down here. I was one of only four, four that had the courage to go to the Texas House floor and rail against the sham impeachment of Attorney General. And it passed overwhelmingly. He's right. Because the Texas House is full of fake Republicans and Rhinos. Okay, right. But just, but three years later, fast forward, they talk about an epic, an absolutely epic backfire. Ken Paxton is now the Republican nominee to be the United States Senator from the state of Texas. I believe he's gonna win. And listen, you know, I usually get frustrated. See when I come on and you make me listen to five minutes of msnbc. Cause I know I'm never gonna get those brain cells back. But listen, the absolute waterfall of liberal tears from the mainstream media this morning over Paxton's 30 point blowout over a four term incumbent Senator is absolutely delicious and music to my ears. And look, if they want to be frustrated at anybody, be frustrated with somebody like John Cornyn. Because the biggest takeaway here, it's not just the mainstream media. Their conventional wisdom is like A little bit wrong. It's 180 degrees wrong. The reason that John Cornyn, the main reason John Cornyn lost last night, people want to say what they want about Ken Paxton in the mainstream media. The real reason is that voters in Texas, and I think across the country, are increasingly fed up with politicians who put the word Republican by their name, running in the primaries, pledging, hey, vote for me. All stand up to those radical Democrats who want to bankrupt the next generation. Vote for me. All fight against those leftists that want to indoctrinate, you know, the next generation, too. But then the second they get in office, in order to attain popularity with the media and big donors and the liberal special interest, they collude with those very Democrats to destroy liberty for the next generation of Texas. And this is an entire. This defeat for Senator Cornyn, honestly, it's a defeat of his own making. Republicans are sick and tired. Voters of Republicans going in and getting office and then being insufficiently conservative, being unwilling to fight on core Republican things like the Second Amendment, like the border security, like election integrity. And last night, there's no way to overstate this. A crushing defeat for the liberal establishment in Texas and a massive victory for the conservative aggressors here, not just in Texas, but across the country.
Host/Moderator
Brian, tell people what it was like. I mean, we had the showdown there, I think, for two and a half or three months. And I tell people, I said, you have no earthly idea how bad this is until you see the campaign they're running. It was not even about issues because Cornyn can't. You know, he put up a fake thing about the border wall, which he opposed. He jumped on the Sharia law. He made a spot on Sharia law and then put a phony bill in, you know, 48 hours after. He knew Sharia law was going to be a big deal. But the rest of it, you know, 99% of it was just the destruction of the grassroots movement to depress them and the personal destruction of Ken Paxton and just feed our enemies on the left, all types of lies and nonsense. Just give folks throughout the country how radical Cornyn and the donors and what they will do to hold their power served well.
Brian Harrison
I mean, there's almost no limits to the things they will do. I mean, I'm a native Texan. I love this state. And I had battled the biggest swamp of them all in Washington, D.C. with President Trump in his first term. When I moved back to Texas and got elected four or five years ago, people had warned me there was a rhino problem in the Texas government. But it seemed incomprehensible to me because voters give Republicans. We've got the governor's mansion, lieutenant governor's office, huge majorities in the Texas House, Texas Senate, every statewide office. You know, what do people mean when they say that the Democrats and Rhinos control the Texas government? And the reality is for. For almost a generation, that absolutely has been true. I mean, literally, the. The current Rhino speaker of the Texas House was one of the people that voted to impeach Ken Paxton just three years ago to the day. And the fact that they spent, I mean, all probably a number way higher than 150 million. That's the number everyone's throwing around. But it was at least 150 million to try and defeat Attorney General Ken Paxton. Man, think about this. They want, you know, that now the mainstream talking point is, okay, well, now, you know, Talaritko's got. Got a shot at this and whatever and all money it's going to take. Boy, that $150 million that the Liberal establishment in Texas spent to try and take out Ken Paxton. Think about how much more effective that or how effective that $150 million would be to defeat radicals like James Talarico or other people in close races in Texas and across the country. So, no, the attacks from the left, I mean, honestly, they're nothing more than projections and confessions. The liberal special interests that have controlled far too much at the Texas establishment for far too long, they will do nothing to maintain their grip on power. They thought they were going to do it. They believed they were going to do it, and the voters said no. And one of the silver linings is it's showing that money is no longer a match for the enthusiasm of grassroots patriots who are sick and tired of having weak Republicans betray them, both in Washington and in Austin. And they are going to the ballot box. They are going to fight, and they are going to elect people that are willing to fight for the principles that made our state and our country great. Low spending, low taxes, low regulation, secure borders, individual freedom, individual liberty. These are the things that motivate people to the ballot box. The conventional wisdom wants Republicans, once they get in office, to believe that the only way to get reelected is to sell out, is to moderate, is to make the Democrats happy. Don't do anything that will piss off the media. No, wrong. The things that win at the ballot box. Reagan used to talk about bold colors, no pale pastels. It's being bold. Letting your voters and your constituents watch you stand up to the liberal establishment and fight to give their children and their grandchildren a chance at inheriting the blessings of prosperity that limited government and freedom and individual liberty bring. And we saw that in just dramatic fashion with a 30 point landslide over a massively, massively over funded incumbent who had been there for four years. On paper, John Cornyn should have been able to put this away a long time ago. But at the end of the day, all the money in the world couldn't save him from the grassroots activists who want their freedom and liberty protected for their kids and for their grandkids.
Host/Moderator
Brian Harrison, hang on for one second. Take a break. We're gonna play what you the courage you showed three years ago in the Texas House.
Stephen K. Bannon
Here's your host, Stephen K. Ban.
Host/Moderator
Okay, Brian Harrison is our guest, one of the grassroots leaders in Texas three years ago today. Let's cut and play what Brian Harrison was doing in the Texas house.
Brian Harrison
Less than 48 hours ago and with no warning, we had a resolution containing 20 articles of impeachment quite literally dropped on our desks, along with nothing more than the transcript of one single public hearing. Most of these allegations have been litigated in the criminal justice system for many years and yet not a shred of anything closely approximating new and sufficient evidence has been presented to this body. At most, the investigation has lasted eight weeks and it was kept secret. There was no impeachment committee and paneled no testimony under oath, no sworn declarations. And when the body was told of this literally hours ago, not one single question directed to the speaker was met with an answer that inspires any confidence in this process whatsoever. We were given woefully insufficient time to consider all 20 allegations before being asked to take a vote that if passes would immediately suspend from office a very recently re elected Attorney General who has without a doubt proven time and time again that he was in fact up to the most important task of our time. And that is fighting against the out of control federal government which seeks to destroy our rights, our freedoms, our libert, our state sovereignty and our constitution on a daily basis.
Host/Moderator
Three years ago today, Brian Harrison came on the national stage with that brilliant speech in the Texas House. And we started the journey of the impeachment of Ken Paxton which went through a trial I think in August and then early September. Brian Harrison, that was the beginning. First off, the race against Jeb Bush's son and the grandson of 41 really started. That's where the big hate on Ken Paxton started. But they wanted to remove him. You showed a profile and courage. There were Not a lot of people prepared to step up. I was kind of shocked. I heard they were doing. They just dropped what in the House they go, impeachment. I go, what's going on? So we did a bunch of research. You were one of the few brave souls that showed a profile and courage to stand up at the time to Karl Rove, the Bushes, the Texas establishment, the exact same people that just spent $150 million trying to destroy the grassroots movement in Texas and destroy Ken Paxton.
Brian Harrison
Sir, now it's amazing watching that clip to think that was just three years ago. Possibly the most spectacular backfire in modern American politics. Because, I mean, look. And yeah, when they dropped that, it was literally a Thursday night. They just dropped a stack of paper on our desks on the floor of the House. And then we were told we were going to vote 30 hours later on impeachment. And it passed. People remember the Senate where it was repudiated, but in the Texas House it passed. And they did everything they could, every type of arm twisting you could imagine. They wanted the vote to be 100% to zero. They thought the fake. And keep in mind, the Texas House is supposedly dominated by Republicans. Okay, Right. But these are the type of Republicans that supported that impeachment effort. And it passed. It didn't just pass a little bit. It passed overwhelmingly in the Texas House. And as I mentioned, I served. There's almost 90 Republicans, Republicans in the Texas House. I was one of four, four that spoke on the floor that day against that shame impeachment. But believe me, there was, I mean, effectively, you know, threats and bullying and harassing. We were pulled into the back hallway and basically told, we need to get with the program. He was going to be impeached. Your political career was going to be over if you didn't support this. I mean, that was the message to us three short years ago. So three years ago to the day, the Texas House, Republican Texas House impeached and removed from office temporarily Attorney General Ken paxton. And exactly three years later, he wins in a 30 point landslide against the four year establishment Republican Senator and is going to be the next senator, I believe, from the great state of Texas. A truly historic arc of history for the past three years.
Host/Moderator
I want to get into the Senate because in the House she fought the good fight, lost. They impeached him overwhelmingly. The Senate was touching. The Senate was touch and go. It turned out right. But there was moments right where you could see the establishment thought they were gonna get him. But I wanna go back in time. This is folks this is May of 2023, what you just saw, okay? Ken Paxton, the day that the illegitimate Biden regime had that sham inauguration. In fact, we were on the rooftop, had done the first part of it. They had the circles. They had like 50 people there. You know, it was a complete sham. They had the mask on that afternoon on the 20th of January in the year of our Lord 2021, Ken Paxton came on this show. And Ken Paxton was the guy that says, hey, look where he's inside the Constitution and helping Texas. We will support him where it's outside. We will go to court. Ken Paxton was in court the next day on the executive orders on the border, Right. He understood how important that was to Texas. My point, Brian, is that he had been doing this for a year and a half. Texas took the lead on every tough topic against the Biden regime. And we had nothing at the time, folks. We didn't have the House, we didn't have the Senate. They had the executive branch. We had a couple of brave state attorney generals. That's all we had for a holding action. How do I know that? Because I was working with these guys every day, said, hey, we gotta have some sort of command by negation here. It was Ken Paxton that was in the lead every single day on every single issue, Brian. And they still hated him so much. And this is how they hate the agenda. They hate him so much. They hate Trump so much. No matter how much Cornyn tries to glaze him and these guys try to glaze him, they hate him so much. They wanted to remove Ken Paxton, number one, to get the impediment out of the way on the Biden regime and let him do what they were gonna do. Brian Harrison.
Brian Harrison
Well, that's right. And actually, it even goes back further than that. I mean, people oftentimes forget Ken Paxton served where I serve now, in the Texas House, and was one of the few back in his day in the Texas House willing to stand up to the corrupt, fake Republican leadership of the Texas House back then. And the conventional wisdom. And they usually get their way, the establishment is. But the conventional wisdom is if you speak up or if you vote the way you're not supposed to, which means, like, you oppose the Democrats, okay, the Austin establishment, the political class down there, the media, the special interests, the bureaucracy, much of the executive branch, they will do everything they can to destroy you. Not just to remove you from office, but to destroy you personally. And, you know, Ken Paxton has been the center of their wrath for a long time. As you know, at this point, I and others, because if you, you know, you're basically told you can have a great life once you get elected to office, all you have to do is lie to the people back home, not tell them the amount of power that we're giving to the Democrats, and you'll have everything you need for basically perpetual reelection. But voters don't want that. They don't want more. Go along to get along politicians. And like I said in my speech there three years ago, Ken Paxton had just been reelected as the Attorney General of Texas. I mean, very recently. And so what the Texas House was doing, because it was a political thing, they were furious that their candidate did not get elected, that Ken Paxton won. So they did what the classic leftist tactics. You try to use the brute force of government to do what, what you failed to do time and time again at the ballot box. They failed to defeat him at the ballot box. So they tried to use the power of government to remove him from office. And what that effectively was, it was an end run, end run, attempted end run around the voters. Okay, they couldn't get him in the ballot box, so let's impeach him. But here's what, folks. It's so hard to remember now, but. But when I gave that speech on the floor of the Texas House three years ago, one of only four, we didn't know what was going to happen in the Senate. The conventional wisdom in Austin at the end, by the way, I think probably across the country, but especially in the capital of Texas three years ago, to this day, the conventional wisdom was he was going to get impeached overwhelmingly in the House, and then they were going to have this thing happen over in the Senate and they were going to uphold the House's impeachment. That's what everybody believes. So the few of us that were speaking out against it at the time, we didn't have the benefit of three years of knowledge. We didn't know that. We didn't have a crystal ball saying, in three years this guy's going to be the next Senator. We had to make a choice. Stand on principle or cave to the political establishment pressure of the liberal uniparty that has controlled Austin and far too many state capitals for far too long. So the world looks completely different. But three years ago, I promise you, the conventional wisdom was that Ken Paxton was going to be cooked. And here we are three years later, probably the sweetest vindication I can imagine for just about anybody after what they've tried to do to him for so many years. The man is going to be the next United States Senator.

Obviously, Ken Paxton's the hero, but also the heroes in the story, the grassroots. Because when we first got involved in this, I knew, you know, you were in President Trump's first term in the administration and you were down there. It was like only a couple of you guys voted to save him in the House. And then the conventional wisdom is this is going to be over because they temporarily removed him as Attorney General. He was out, right? And the conventional wisdom was he was removed from his duties. He was removed from his duties. Don't get involved. This is already baked. They're going to try him quickly, and he's going to be basically turfed out by the Senate. There's nothing. I was told there was nothing that could be done. I said, well, hell with that. This Ken Pack is the only guy stand up on the national basis. And the grassroots were looking for people to come in and say, hey, we've got your back. We can do this. And the grassroots in Texas saved Ken Paxton. Right? Under your leadership and others, the grassroots in Texas stood up. Because at the beginning of that trial, it was touching. It was touching. Go right until the grassroots stood up and said, this is our guy, Bryan Harrison.
Brian Harrison
You know, if you were a betting person three years ago, I mean, the safe money was that Paxton was gonna be run out of town on a rail. And the very few of us who dared speak up were basically told, your career is gonna be over. We're gonna destroy you, too. You know, you can't speak up for this guy. But I do want to give huge credit to the grassroots. I can't overstate that. Even though movement conservatives like myself, we're often fighting alone in the Capitol in Austin, I know that even when I'm speaking alone or basically alone, I'm standing in solidarity with the overwhelming majority of overworked, overtaxed, freedom loving patriots who love the state of Texas, who love the country, and who understand that our state and our nation is at an inflection point. And perhaps now more than ever, we need elected officials willing to stand against the tide, willing to do the right thing, even when it's the politically unpopular thing, even when it means you might have to stand alone. And just about every conservative victory that we've achieved down here in Texas, from ending the, you know, defeating the sham impeachment of the Attorney General, to last night's victory, to, quite frankly, stopping the Republican Texas government from doing so many liberal things like funding transgender indoctrination or. Or pushing dei. I mean, I was shocked when I got elected. Texas still had COVID vaccine mandates. We were one of the biggest funders of transgender indoctrination. We had DEI in every one of our state agencies. All of those efforts that we've been able to push back have not one of them, not one came from the top down, from the power structure in the Austin uniparty. Every one of those, getting rid of the president, the DEI and transgender indoctrinating president of Texas A and M. Every one of those victories came from the bottom up, from grassroots patriots who melted the phone lines, who stood up and held their elected officials feet to the fire, demanded accountability. That's how we've delivered every single conservative result in the state of Texas since I was elected down here, you know, four or five years ago. So a major thing. If you're watching the posse and you've tweeted, you've sent an email, you've made a phone call to any Texas conservative issue, please hear from the bottom of my heart. Thank you. The people, the Patriots, the grassroots, we're going to take our state back and we're going to preserve the blessings of prosperity that freedom and liberty bring for the next generation. And last night was just more evidence, I mean, quite frankly, a bigger example than many people could have, could have hoped for.

Brian, can you hang here for one second? I know you're busy, but I want to hold you through a quick break. And I do want to talk about the November election and the lessons we've learned so far and how do we apply those. Once again, the left has got their NPR candidate right and they think this represents Texas. I think the grassroots will have something different to say. And as we just showed, and the patriots in Texas just show with $150 million against. I think, I think he raised $15 million. 150 versus roughly 15. It was just extraordinary, an extraordinary turnout. I want to thank the folks at Patriots, by the way, the Cabinet is supposed to start 11 if it holds to tradition. It may be a couple of minutes late. President Trump's not having the Cabinet meeting at or a smaller subset of the Cabinet up at Camp David. It's going to be a larger Cabinet meeting. I'm sure he's going to bring the meeting to cdn as we normally go through this exercise. We're going to cover that wall to wall. Also Patriot Mobile, we're trying to get Beau French up and some other folks and fit them in before the, before the academy starts. We're going to cover that wall to wall I want to thank a patriot mobile. 972 patriot. You're going to get somebody on the phone with the east Texas accent. Brian, we got a couple of minutes. I understand you got to bounce. You serve with Talarico. Tell me about him. And because I don't get it President Trump call him in this true social day. Alfred E. Newman. He's a vegan who plays with dolls. A seminarian. I'm not even sure he's ever had a job. I don't get this one and I don't get why they just think this guy's the second coming down to Texas. I don't see it. Your thoughts, sir?
Brian Harrison
Well look, I mean you're talking about a guy who makes Jasmine Crockett seem positively sane. I mean that's how radical. There has never been a more radical extremist Marxist progression progress aggressive leftist run for statewide office in the state of Texas. I mean I never heard, I mean Jasmine Crockett who is nuts. I mean I never heard Jasmine Crockett say God is non binary. Right. Okay. That's, that's this guy James. You know six genders Talarico. And yes, for better, for worse. I have, I have served with James in the House. I know him, served with him for four or five years together. We've been on committees together. There is not any leftist position that he doesn't hold. I mean like he makes Bernie Sanders look like a centrist. Okay. That's how far this to the left this guy is. But look he, he's going to try and fool people. And what I would tell Republicans, don't rest, celebrate. That's right, celebrate. Take the morning and celebrate but do not rest on our laurels. I believe Texas is going to stay red. I believe Kim Paxton is going to be defeat Talarico. But the only way that a Democrats could get their, their dream goal of flipping Texas. And make no mistake about it, I mean Texas is the crown jewel in the left plan to destroy our country. If the Democrats take Texas, we're never going to have a Republican in the White House again. So they want Texas. And I don't believe they're gonna get it. But I would caution Republicans, the only way that they could flip Texas blue is if Texas Republicans believe that it could never happen and act like it. So we gotta take the victories from last night and use it not to rest on our laurels, not to get complacent, but as momentum, as fuel, as energy to run through the tape in November because the stakes couldn't possibly be higher. But no James Talarico, God is non binary. He literally said we need to roll out the red carpet for illegal aliens during the Biden border invasion. And by the seminary you mentioned. Seminary student. Don't be fooled by this former public school teacher seminarian facade he's trying to sham people with. Okay, James Talarico, after 2000 years of Christendom, has supposedly uncovered the true meaning of the biblical narrative of Joseph and Mary. And according to seminary in James Talarico, the story of the Virgin Mary was in the Bible to justify elective abortions. I'm not making this up. That's how disconnected and untethered from any kind of reality. This guy's. But look, this is the modern Democrat Party and radical leftist Marxist James Talarico may be the best embodiment of how far left and radical and extreme the Democrat party in 2026 is today. And that's why it's incumbent on every patriot to show up at the polls, do everything you can to elect Ken Paxton for the U.S. senate and every Republican in every race from the top of the ballot all the way down to your local, local races. We cannot rest on our laurels. Let's be energized and let's go and win this thing in November and keep Texas red.

Date: May 27, 2026
Host: Stephen K. Bannon
Major Guests: Brian Harrison (Texas State Representative), Caroline Wren (Conservative Strategist), Mike Lindell (MyPillow CEO)
This episode centers on Ken Paxton’s landslide victory over John Cornyn in the Texas GOP Senate primary, branded as a pivotal moment for Trumpism, grassroots activism, and the ongoing internal struggle within the Republican Party. The conversation assesses not only what Paxton’s victory means for Texas and the 2026 midterms, but also the nationwide implications for the GOP’s direction and the power of grassroots conservatism over establishment politics.
Immediate Impact:
Paxton defeats Cornyn, marking a “huge win for President Trump”—who endorsed Paxton late, spurring a decisive win (00:00–00:36).
Paxton’s Victory Speech:
Paxton credits family, grassroots supporters, Turning Point Action, Congressman supporters, and especially Trump:
“President Trump is the leader of our party and his endorsement… is the most powerful force in politics.”
— Ken Paxton (01:13)
Democratic Perspective:
Paxton labeled as “the most corrupt politician in America,” referencing his 2023 impeachment by fellow Republicans (02:49).
Republican Party Dynamics:
Electoral Risks for Republicans:
Democratic overperformance in recent elections attributed to lack of Republican turnout, not crossover voting. There’s concern that divisive candidates like Paxton may depress GOP turnout rather than flip votes (04:24–05:34).
Bannon Reflects on Texas Political History:
Drawing parallels to John Tower’s 1961 win and what it signaled for Republican rise in the South, Bannon ponders if Paxton’s nomination signals a new political era in Texas and beyond:
“Will we know in 2028 whether this has been the age of Trump… or is it the age of Trumpism? And that test begins this fall.”
— Stephen K. Bannon (07:15)
National Stakes:
Bannon argues that without the grassroots fire seen in Texas, GOP risks losing key Senate races nationwide (09:00–10:17).
Grassroots Power Displayed:
Paxton’s win seen as a rejection of establishment politics and a blueprint for similar victories nationwide.
“Voters are no longer rewarding things like seniority. They're rewarding people they believe will actually use their power to fight for them at home.”
— Caroline Wren, Conservative Strategist (10:54)
Confronting GOP Leadership:
Calls for Senate candidates to fully embrace the MAGA agenda (nuke the filibuster, pass the “Save America Act”) or risk base apathy (12:49).
Money vs. Enthusiasm:
Despite $150M spent to “destroy” Paxton, grassroots energy prevailed—"money doesn't matter anymore… we beat them." — Host/Moderator (12:07)
Paxton vs. Talarico Narrative:
The Republican camp frames Democratic nominee James Talarico as an out-of-touch radical:
“He’s a vegan who thinks God is non binary and that there are six biological sexes… Paxton is definitely going to win, but he’s going to need our help. The Washington DC establishment is not going to help him.”
— Caroline Wren (17:19)
Grassroots Mobilization:
Reiterated call for direct action, donations, and continued grassroots effort as DC establishment withholds support for Paxton.
Broader Primary Landscape:
Wren outlines similar establishment vs. grassroots fights in other key states, advocates MAGA-aligned candidates (20:01).
Impeachment Backstory:
Brian Harrison narrates the 2023 impeachment as a RINO-led, establishment attack on Paxton, characterizing it as a backfiring plot:
“The Texas House is full of fake Republicans and RINOs… Ken Paxton is now the Republican nominee to be the United States Senator from the state of Texas. You talk about an epic, an absolutely epic backfire.”
— Brian Harrison (21:44–23:44)
Grassroots Defiance:
Harrison and Bannon underscore how bottom-up activism—calls, emails, organizing—saved Paxton during his Senate trial.
“Every one of those victories came from the bottom up, from grassroots patriots who melted the phone lines, who stood up and held their elected officials feet to the fire.”
— Brian Harrison (39:13)
Democratic Threat & GOP Complacency:
Harrison urges the GOP not to become complacent, warning that Democrats will pour resources into flipping Texas.
“The only way that Democrats could get their dream goal of flipping Texas… [is] if Texas Republicans believe that it could never happen and act like it.”
— Brian Harrison (43:35)
Characterization of Talarico:
Harrison frames Talarico as “even further left” and “more radical” than previous Democratic contenders, repeating charges about his social and religious views (42:53).
Paxton on Trump’s Power:
"President Trump is the leader of our party and his endorsement… is the most powerful force in politics."
(01:13, Ken Paxton)
Conservative Strategist on the Old Guard:
“Last night wasn’t just a regular Senate primary. It was a referendum on who leads the Republican Party, and the Texas Republican answer loudly, which is that the grassroots are in charge.”
(10:17, Caroline Wren)
Brian Harrison on GOP Infighting:
“You talk about an epic, an absolutely epic backfire. Ken Paxton is now the Republican nominee… after a sham impeachment by fake Republicans three years ago.”
(21:44, Brian Harrison)
Stephen K. Bannon’s Historical Take:
“Will we know in 2028 whether this has been the age of Trump, or is it the age of Trumpism? And that test begins this fall.”
(07:15, Stephen K. Bannon)
On Grassroots Power:
“Even though movement conservatives like myself, we're often fighting alone in the Capitol in Austin, I know that...I’m standing in solidarity with the overwhelming majority of overworked, overtaxed, freedom loving patriots who love the state of Texas.”
(38:33, Brian Harrison)
This episode should be of particular interest to anyone following political realignment in the GOP, the power of endorsements, and the ways that intra-party struggles can shape broader state and national politics heading into high-stakes elections.
