Today I'm sitting with someone I don't really need to do an introduction for because you already know. Kaitlyn Bristow. Welcome to Barely Famous.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I don't know about that.
Kail Lowry
I do. I do the craziest thing, and I say this the time in this industry. I feel like it's such a flex for people to. For me to know. For the general public to know people's names. You don't have any idea where they came from? I didn't. I've never watched the Bachelor a day in my life.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Really?
Kail Lowry
But I knew who you were. Oh, I've always. Yeah. And I just think that's such a flex for you because it's like. And same for. I just did Harry Jowsey's podcast. Yes, I knew who he was, but I've never. I don't even know where he came from.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I don't remember where he came from.
Kail Lowry
I have no. But I know who he is. Do you know what I mean?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Same for, like, Real Housewives. I've never seen a show of real. I've never seen an episode in my life, but I recognize a lot of their names. Yes, So I went on Gia's podcast. I knew. I knew who she was, but I had never seen it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's so funny, because I. Not that I. I'm not, like, proud of where I came from with Bachelor. Like, that's why I have everything. But, like, the goal is to work and build something yourself so that you aren't just associated with the Bachelor franchise.
Kail Lowry
Thousand percent.
Kaitlyn Bristow
So, yeah, you've done a great job at.
Kail Lowry
Obviously, I don't want to be associated with, like, I'm so thankful for it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes, exactly.
Kail Lowry
And I never want to not give them their flowers. They picked. They could have picked a million other people, but it's like, I am. First of all, I haven't been on the show for four years. And then also, that's just. I'm not a teen mom anymore, so I want to be associated outside of that. And so it's so funny, like, sitting with you. I've never watched it, but I've always known who you are.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's.
Kail Lowry
I.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, that's. I'm very flattered. Thank you. And that means I've done what I've wanted to do.
Kail Lowry
Good. Teach me. After this, we might have to have a conversation, because I need to do the same.
Kaitlyn Bristow
No, I think you know what? Just from, like, your energy and your presence and what you've done, I feel like you. Your. You don't think inside the box, you think outside the box. And people like that alone will go further than most. It's so fascinating to me because when I was on Bachelor, it's when social media, when Instagram, like, started to become something, and I remember being like, what does this mean? And followers were just coming in, and I was like, I don't even know what to do with this.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And then I started going, people are offering me money to post on Instagram. And I was like, this is crazy.
Michelle Maros
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And Instagram was just starting to be a thing where I thought, okay, this could be a long term, like, business. And then it just started, like, podcasting wasn't a thing. And I've been podcasting for nine years now, and so now I feel the exact same way. It was like Instagram. I was like, oh, I've got the first person out of Bachelor Nation to get a million followers. And then I was the first one to have a podcast. And I'm like, who doesn't have a podcast?
Kail Lowry
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And. And people now can get, you know, Instagram famous from just being on Instagram. You don't even have to go on a show. Anymore, which. And I think we all do the same thing where we, you know, compare ourselves and go, why am I not getting that opportunity? And it's hard to. I don't know if you've ever read the book the Four Agreements, but it's like not taking everything personally because it doesn't even. Like, it's nothing about what we're doing, how we're doing. Just timing is everything to me. And I'm just in such a zone in my life where I'm like, everything's going to happen for a reason. I'm just gonna keep following. Like, even just moving to New York, I'm like, there's a reason I'm pulled here. Something's gonna happen. And I just am trusting the universe, which is very. But I feel like the second you do that, everything aligns.
Kail Lowry
Well, I Hope so, because 2026 has whooped my ass. I wanted to ask you about moving to New York, if you're comfortable with it, because I. Our teams have been talking for a long time, on and off, trying to get this to. To come to fruition. And when they were like, oh, she moved to New York, I was like, what would compel someone to move here?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, there's a few reasons. And let me just jump back before I say, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kail Lowry
Of course.
Kaitlyn Bristow
When you feel that way of being kicked while you're down, I truly, truly believe something, like, really big is going to come for you in a good way.
Kail Lowry
I hope so.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I really believe that.
Kail Lowry
I'm begging for 2024 back. I. I need 20. 2025 was awful. My world was flipped upside down. My. The father of three of my children cheated on me. It was very public.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
And so I'm still kind of dealing with the after effects of that, but
Kaitlyn Bristow
karma has no deadline. You are on your way to beautiful things.
Kail Lowry
I'm telling you, I am begging for 2024 back. That's how bad it's been. So I. I hope you're right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I have a feeling, and I. I am very. A very intuitive person. I have a good feeling.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I just wouldn't say anything. I wouldn't have gone back to that.
Kail Lowry
Okay, thank you. I appreciate that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Moving to New York. Yeah. No, it was so interesting because I. So I grew up in Canada, and when I was 18 years old, I got a dance scholarship to go to Vancouver from my small town in Alberta. And I was like, oh, my gosh, this is, like the peak of my life. And I was so honored. And when I got there, I had such Bad imposter syndrome. And I just feel I, like, kind of. I went there to dance, and I feel like I just looked around and I was like, everybody's so much better than me. I'm just gonna give up. I kind of, like, didn't give it my all, which was so sad when I look back on it. But I ended up giving up on my dreams and chased a hockey player and moved and kind of followed his dreams. And when that clearly didn't work out, because why would it, I realized, like, oh, I have to, like, not rely on somebody else for my own happiness. I gotta, like, figure this out. And so I had moved from Edmonton to Vancouver, to Winnipeg, to Newfoundland for him, to Germany, then went back to Vancouver and started all over again. I didn't have a job. I didn't have money. I didn't have education. I didn't have anything. But I just started working my way up in a restaurant. And I was like, I just had this feeling something big's coming. And then the Bachelor happened. So then I got engaged from the Bachelorette, moved to Nashville, and for me, I was just like, I'll move anywhere. Like, look at where I've been in the last 10 years. I'll be bop around wherever my little. Like, wherever the wind blows me, I'm blowing. And then I feel like it takes a few years to really, like. And I was 30, so I feel like it takes a few years to really, like, find your friend group in a new city and, like, make it feel like home. And Nashville really started feeling like home after five years. And I was like, I'll probably never leave this as home now. And then for some reason, I was like, I think I'm supposed to have this New York era. Like, I think I'm. So I started. I'm very big on manifesting. I'm very big on vision boards. I'm very big on, like, writing things out. And I'm really a visual person. I can, like, drop into a vision visualization meditation pretty quick. And I, for some reason, just thought, I'm gonna have a little apartment in New York on the side. And so then five years later, I was like, I think now's the time, and I am seeing somebody that lives here. And I feel like. Like podcasting. I always come to New York for podcasts. I love the guests. I love the energy. And then I got here and I was like. Like, I'm overwhelmed. What have I done?
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I'm like, my. I keep saying that my, like, my nervous System is doing CrossFit. Because I'm just like. It's a lot here. Like, just the buzz of just being in the city and the sounds. And I'm a very, like, easily overstimulated person with misophonia who, like, I can't even handle people chewing. And so all the sounds, I'm like. And then bringing two dogs, and I'm just like, what have I done? But again, I'm trying to surrender, and that is why I'm here.
Michelle Maros
Wow.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I have really long answers to.
Kail Lowry
No. I love that it's so. I love podcasting with other podcasters because, as you know, sometime you can be sitting down with someone and you're, like, pulling answers out of them and you get, like, the one word. Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
What's your sign?
Kail Lowry
Pisces.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, Pisces. That's water, isn't it?
Kail Lowry
Yeah, yeah, yeah, It's.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I mean, I'm such a believer in all the.
TextNow Advertiser
What are you?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm Gemini.
Kail Lowry
I also have, like, that really into it. I ignore a lot of the intuition. You don't. Oh, well, I have four baby dads, Caitlin.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, that's okay. But you also.
Kail Lowry
I ignored it every time.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But think of what your body did to create a baby. What do you think? Your brain isn't capable of telling you what to do.
Kail Lowry
You're so right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Your gut, your heart, your brain is all so connected. You created life. Your body can tell you. You could listen to your body.
Kail Lowry
I just don't. I want people to prove me wrong so bad. I want to be wrong so bad. So I ignore, ignore, ignore. It gets me nowhere. It actually me up even more down the line.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, I actually think each time you do that, you're learning something. And, like, whether you realize it or not.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Michelle Maros
You're.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You're learning big lessons through very. I'm just kidding.
Kail Lowry
2026 needs to be the last lesson.
Michelle Maros
Sure.
Kail Lowry
Because it's been a six months from start to finish. Six months of lessons. Back to. I'm.
Kaitlyn Bristow
How old you are?
Kail Lowry
34.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Okay.
TextNow Advertiser
Oh, yeah.
Kail Lowry
I had to think about that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It gets worse. I'm turning 41 in, like, five days and I.
Kail Lowry
41. W O N 1. 41.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, yes.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. As we're winning.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes, exactly.
Kail Lowry
I was like, I like that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It went over my head for a second, and then I was like, I like that. But. Yeah. I just feel like, oh, my gosh. Every year I feel like I learned something by. It's always something that breaks you down.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Always.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's good to know that that gives you A lesson. And you'll look back. Trust me. You'll look back. Whenever. Whenever you're my age, you'll look back and be like, oh, that really did teach me something. Or it changed the path of what you're where you're supposed to be. There's always a reason.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, no, I get that. I hope that this is, like, the
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm also not toxic positive. I sound very toxic positivity right now. I'm really not.
Kail Lowry
It's not coming off that way to me. Hopefully it doesn't, because people also.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm not.
Kail Lowry
I'm.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm very much like a glass half empty kind of gal, but I'm trying to work on it. So that's what this is.
Kail Lowry
See, I feel as though I'm. I call myself a realist. Like, and it's also, like, I'm not trying to be pessimistic. I just want to have very realistic expectations. And people will say I'm pessimistic.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, you're jaded. You've had bad experiences with, like. Do you mean in life or with men or everything?
Kail Lowry
All of it. All of the above. Like, if we're talking about, like, intuition and just, you know, learning lessons through, like, the trying times. I do. Like you said, you're a half a glass half empty. Empty. Me too. But it's like anything that happens positively will surprise me and be happy, but I want to expect the worst, but not in a bad way. Does that make sense?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes. I'm the exact same way. I've just really been working on it for a few years so I can kind of see myself changing. But I am totally the same way. I think everyone's going to disappoint me. I think everything is going to not work out. I am a doomsday thinker, and I'm just like. That does all the things I've told myself. That is like, bad things that are gonna happen never happens.
Kail Lowry
No. So then you go through it twice. So then I'm like, oh, because you worry about it. And then it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Right. And then it probably never happens because our brains are meant to protect us. So it tells us it doesn't align with our hearts. That's why you have to trust your heart and your gut, because your brain's just in protection mode.
Kail Lowry
I just got diagnosed with celiac's disease. I don't trust my gut. I shit my pants every week. I am not trusting my gut.
TextNow Advertiser
Not.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, your gut was telling you something bad's happening. Your gut was saying you have Celiac Cut it out.
Kail Lowry

Intuition is like, my body's telling me something is wrong in your gut. So that's why I can't trust my gut right now. It's like, trust my heart in my head.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Okay.
Kail Lowry
You know what I mean?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Let's go with the heart, not the head.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Not the gut.
Kail Lowry
We're not doing that. Maybe once I like heal my gut and go gluten free after tour because I'm not doing it during school.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's just in there a little bit right now. All the gluten just fucking with your alignment.
Kail Lowry
I have to tell you the story though, because I was telling Jesse, he's the producer here in New York. And so I did a podcast tour in 2024 and before I did that, I was like, what the is a podcast where I don't know what I'm doing. Your team reached out. We reached out to your team or whatever. Our team's connected and they were like, come to the DC show. So we bought tickets and we went to your D.C. show. Yes. I had never been on a live podcast tour. And so I went to. It was like a little winery. Like, not a little winery. It was a pretty nice venue where there was like dinner and stuff like that. Do you remember this was it with.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Was my guest, Justin.
Kail Lowry
It was a guy.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Sorry, Greg and Andrew.
Kail Lowry
It was one guy.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, one guy.
Michelle Maros
Who did.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I have a nc.
Kail Lowry
I want to say maybe he was a former athlete possibly. I just remember you had a dj.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, you.
Kail Lowry
It was so cool. I had no idea what a podcast tour was. And so they were nice enough to like, say, hey, like whatever, come backstage. You didn't know who. I didn't know. I didn't know if you knew who I was or anything. But it was so fun. And so after that, I ended up doing a podcast tour. And so I. I thought I would tell you that because I was like, what the is.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Did you like it?
Kail Lowry
I loved it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Isn't it fun connecting with the people who like, are the real ones who love you?
Podcast Advertisers
Yes.
Kail Lowry
And it was. I mean, the. The venue. The one thing that I will say is I haven't had a venue where you can order dinner. So I think that was a really cool, like, set you apart from other podcast tours.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I think when I first started doing a podcast tour, I would have like float. Blow up floaties as decorations on the stage. Just so I was like, look at. There's something up here. And it's just, like, on a budget.
Kail Lowry
Like, have you ever done your. Like, by yourself with no guest? No, I don't think I want to do that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I. I'll come out and, like, do a little bit.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
For about 15 minutes.
Kail Lowry
Sure, sure. I think you did it then, too.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
But an entire show live? What am I gonna. What I say?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I feel like because your audience would probably want to be so engaged with you, you could, like, bring up people from the crowd and do a game.
Michelle Maros
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You could have, like, Q and A's from people.
Kail Lowry
You know what? I don't have the confidence for it. I. I need my people. I need my security blanket people.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Who are they?
Kail Lowry
My team.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
So, like, because I hired all my friends to work for me.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's smart. I was just having this conversation with a girlfriend because we were like, how hard is it for Taylor Swift to have her? It's like, how is she going to trust anybody? But then when you involve family and friends, her whole family works for her. Then does it create some sort of dynamic where, like, she feels, like, resentment towards them if they're, like, expecting more money or if they, like, ask for a raise and they're like, you're my mom. I. I'm like, it's. It gets tricky. I mean, I. One of my best friends, Cleo, she was my manager, my business partner, and a best friend. I just went to Montauk with her the other day. Like, she's still. And she's truly the reason and the vision behind a lot of stuff that I've done with my brand with the podcast, with the live podcast. We had a wine label together. She's really brilliant, and I loved working with her. I think you, again, like, it. It can go both ways.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Because friendships, they always say, don't, you know, ruin friendships with work or don't dip your pen in the company, Inc. And like, you know, stuff like that. It's because it can make things go south. You just have to really trust the people.
Kail Lowry
I think I'm finding that now, too. It's hard because it's one of those things where it's like, how do you not blur the lines?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
And if you start as friends or if you hire them first and then become friends, then it. I feel it creates a better boundary situation. But if you're friends first and you do it the opposite way, where you do business after they're done. Our lines blurred.
Kaitlyn Bristow
My whole, like, saying is communication is lubrication. Like, you just always have to. Whether it's in, like, your relationship with your partner, with your team, with work, with, like, friends. I just feel like you seem like a very straightforward, honest person.
Kail Lowry
I try.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. And I feel like that's the best thing you can do and have them do that to you. And the hard part is being sensitive and taking things personally. Because if they're your friends, like it. I get where you're saying what you're saying with the blurring of the lines in the gray area. But it's I just. Communication at the end of the day with everything is just the only thing you can do.
Kail Lowry
And then also comprehension, because if someone doesn't, you're communicating until you're blue in the face and the person's not comprehending it. It's like, where am I supposed to go with this?
TextNow Advertiser
Right?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
1,000%.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I think also, like, what? You know, I can tell which one of my friends I would never hire and which ones I feel like they would be a boss 1,000%.
Kail Lowry
And like, you're just like, oh, okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Like, I would never hire me. I wouldn't.
Kail Lowry
You know what?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I.
Kail Lowry
Something came across my for you page on Tik Tok talked kind of recently. And it's like, what's it called when you have all the ideas but no execution? When I tell you that I have a million and one ideas that I think other people would do really great at, I would not hire myself for them.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Exactly. But that's why you are the. The. You're the create. Create a visionary one. And then you just hire the team.
Kail Lowry
Sure.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm the same way. I would never hire me to get any job done.
Kail Lowry
No. Not to get it done. For the idea.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Idea. Sure.
Kail Lowry
All day. I have ideas all day.
TextNow Disclaimer
Oh.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Especially if it involves, like, naming a brand with a pun.
Kail Lowry
1.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Hire me.
Kail Lowry
1000. I actually just saw yesterday what's his. Tom Brady.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Came up with. He's doing like some sort of drink. I don't know. It's like a can like this. And it had. It's called Good Nut. And then the tagline, it's like a coconut water or something like that. And it's called Good Nut. And then the tagline is like a great mouthful or something like that. It's like complete play on words.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Tom Brady.
Kail Lowry
And I was like, oh, Tom Brady.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I would just hang it all up. I would go to an island and I would just, like, off for the rest of my life.
Kail Lowry
The rest of. Of my life.
Kaitlyn Bristow
So fascinating.
Kail Lowry
Your kids are set.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Like you're set. Your kids are set. What. What else do you need to do?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Did you watch the Roast of Kevin Hart?
Kail Lowry
I didn't.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Don't.
Kail Lowry
Was it. Was it awful?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I just, like. I don't like when I love comedy. I love comedy so much. I love Kevin Hart.
Kail Lowry
Would you ever do stand up?
Kaitlyn Bristow
No, I don't think I have vagina for that.
Kail Lowry
I could do it if somebody else wrote my jokes, but that's the thing.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's what I don't like about the roast is I'm like, you could tell these people, like, Nikki Glazer is, like, brilliant. I love watching her Ro. Jeff Ross is hilarious. But Tom Brady getting up there, you're like, obviously, somebody wrote these jokes for you, and you don't know how to. Like, you're not a comedic comedian.
Kail Lowry
Comic.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You're not a comic, and you're not delivering that. And it just makes me, like, crawl out of my.
Kail Lowry
There are certain people who can land the jokes that other people write them.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I know. And it just. It really does depend on the crowd, because I was talking to one of my friends who's a comedian, and he was saying how, like, the weather even can ruin a crowd, like, if they come in from, like, it being a downpour of rain and they're in a bad mood and they like, like, so many things can affect the crowd, which is so crazy. But on my season of the Bachelorette, I had Nikki Glaser and Amy Schumer, and they did a standup date where the guys had to do stand up, and it was it, like, to your point? It's so fascinating because obviously they helped some of the guys with the jokes, and some of the guys, I was, like, cringing so hard and, like, secondhand embarrassment. And some I was like, like, that's hilarious.
Kail Lowry
So funny.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
So funny. And then I get a lot of. Can we go back to the hiring friends thing?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Did you see the Charlie Dilio?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes. How her parents, like, were taking. Is that true? Did that.
Kail Lowry
I don't know. Has that been confirmed when I. I think it was, like, an account. I don't know if I'm saying this correctly.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Dumois.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, Duma.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, they. I think it might have been their account posting. Charlie d' Amelio's dad, like, comes on and kind of says it's not true, but, like, he. He. He sort of evades the actual answer, but he's like, I love my daughter. I wish I had a relationship with her. I miss her kind of deal. Oh, so kind. Of alluding to, like, well, there's a reason why you guys are estranged. You know what I mean?
Kaitlyn Bristow
So what was the story? That she had a brand and that they were taking money from it without telling her or what was the.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, it was like bank accounts. And then like millions of dollars were missing. God. And then I get on TikTok and. And I don't follow any of them, but again, I know who they are. And so another creator does this video talking about how it's really weird that her parents started getting opportunities like Dancing with the Stars and are like sort of capitalizing off of their child's fame. And I.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's hard.
Kail Lowry
It's hard because on one hand I do. In some cases, I feel like that would. Would be okay. Right. Like I came from reality tv. If any of my kids had an opportunity because of that, like, I'm not gonna stop them. Do you know what I'm saying? But if the roles were re. Where it was my kids fame that I'm capitalizing off of. I don't know. I don't know about it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Feels a bit icky. Yeah, I get what you're saying. Because anytime somebody else wants to monetize off, somebody else feels always icky to me. If it's not like an aligned partnership.
Kail Lowry
Right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You know, like I'm trying to think like even Kardashians, I'm like, don't they just seem like a good, strong family brand? Like they all care about each other. Winning.
Kail Lowry
Yes. They all help each other out. They do the collabs.
TextNow Advertiser
Yes.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Where there's other families. Families. What's another one that I've seen where
Kail Lowry
it's like, oh, the Earl family is good. I feel like Alex Earl's family. I feel like they.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Great. Our Naders seem great.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Who Naders. Like Brooke Nader.
Kail Lowry
Is that a girl or a guy?
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's a good. A girl.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Their show's called Love thy Naders and it's like four sisters and they're amazing.
Kail Lowry
Same for Giudice. The Giudice family. I feel like they're very like, support each other.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Gotta come up with some bad ones then. Because. Yeah, because I'm trying to think I'm like that to me, I guess.
Kail Lowry
Like Michael Jackson's family. Yeah, but like in a weird way we're supporting each other, but like, not.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But I. Yeah, like his dad. I've been watching the Michael Jackson the show on Netflix right now.
Kail Lowry
Oh, okay. I watched the movie. I took the kids to see the movie.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, okay. Yes. This Is a very different. This is all about like the scary stuff. But it's like that, that Britney Spears, right?
Kail Lowry
Oh my gosh, Britney.
Kaitlyn Bristow
How could we forget Michael Jackson, Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson. Jessica Simpson. There's something about like the parents who monetize off their children and there's like they all, they all of a sudden lose the whole purpose of a parent, like how to be a parent. Because they get so caught up in the business and the money of it that it destroys that like, poor Britney Spears, man.
Kail Lowry
I am ride or die Britney girl. So I can't same.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's scary and I hope. I just wonder what's happening in the d' Amelio family. Like, what is true, what is not? Nobody's like, if she's cutting her family off, that kind of like says enough.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. I mean, and you don't really need a reason. Like if you're cutting your family off that already if money wasn't involved, like.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, that's the sad part is like hiring your friends is one thing, but like your parents are supposed to be like your heroes and your protectors and your protectors. And they're supposed to like be the ones especially, aren't they her managers.
Kail Lowry
I think she let them go as management.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yikes.
Kail Lowry
I feel like in some ways they don't really have like a role model in that. But I mean, this goes back to the beginning of time with Michael Jackson, Macaulay Culkin, all these parents.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Parents who it didn't Macaulay Coughlin divorce
Kail Lowry
his parents, I'm pretty sure. And like, they like took all his money.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That is traumatic.
Kail Lowry
I just don't, I don't get it. I don't. I, I, as a mom, like, I just, I will literally, I'll sell my post on the side of Dollar General before I ask my kids for money or take my kids money. You know what I mean? Like, I have no upper body strength to be a stripper, but like, I could go, you know what I mean? So like, I just couldn't. I can't imagine like taking advantage of your kids that way. You know, it breaks my heart.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Like, I even feel weird about like using my dogs for social media stuff. Like, I'm like, damn, I know this. I'm like, people love to see them. And I'm like, am I exposing my dogs?
Kail Lowry
You're like, I even feel bad, but people love dogs.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, my golden retrievers are like my whole world. It's, it's actually like not healthy.
Kail Lowry
Why? I feel like a lot of people are like, that with their dogs.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Talk about jumping out of a window when they go. I'm like, I've said this before. I would like to hold hands with them and, like, drink poison and, like, Romeo and Juliet style go with them.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, I get that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
To live in a world without Pinot and Ramen.
Kail Lowry
When I learned your dog's names, like, years and years ago when I. I think when I. We started podcasting around the same time or whenever you. I. I think it was on, like, an Instagram post or something, and I was like, these are the best dog names ever.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, they came with them, too, because I rescued them from South Korea and they both.
Podcast Advertisers
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Were you already in South Korea?
Kaitlyn Bristow
No.
Kail Lowry
So can you go to South Korea right now, or is that North Korea that you can't go to?
Kaitlyn Bristow
You can go to South Korea.
Kail Lowry
Korea. Which one can't go to North. Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. And I want to go to South Korea because I want to do all the skincare stuff there.
Kail Lowry
Did you find the dogs online?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes. So this company called Bunny's Buddies, they rescue and save animals from, like. Like, meat trucks and, like, kill shelters and from China and South Korea. And so I had found that organization through Colton, and then I saw Ramen, and I was obsessed with Ramen before I even knew I was going to be his mom.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Like, oh, this poor little baby was found in a ditch with a fractured pelvis and a broken hip. And he was just, like, in the ditch, and they saved him. And I was like, I'm going to pay for his surgery. So I helped pay for his surgery.
Kail Lowry
Stop.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And then they were. When he got well, they were like, he needs a home, and you, like, were there for him. And I was like, how can you say no? And then Pino, same thing. I was like, there a dog, A golden retriever named Pino. Send them.
Kail Lowry
They already had names.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes, yes.
Kail Lowry
Shut up.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes, those are.
Kail Lowry
I have a cat named Gumball. Barn cat. Gumball Venom. Pardon? Yeah, Gumball, Barn cat. She started as a barn cat.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
And then the kids argued about the name, so they fought about it. And so then it was one wanted Gumball and one wanted Venom, so it became Barn Cat. Gumball Venom.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Does it answer to all of the names?
Kail Lowry
Oh, she does. I don't even think she knows her name, but it's. It's just like. And then some people call her killer cat because she brings things into the house.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's my biggest fear. I want a cat so bad, and I'm. I have a really bad fear.
Michelle Maros
Of birds.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I'm scared of cat just bringing a bird.
Kail Lowry
We have not had a bird. We've had live bunnies, which I sent to a rescue where I rehabilitated the bunnies and has brought also field mice because I live on a farm.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, my God.
Kail Lowry
But outside of that, no birds. So that's good.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But I feel like getting the mice. But then don't bring them in the house.
Kail Lowry
All right, you guys. I want to paint a vivid picture to you guys about what sleep is like when you're sweltering in the summer. Okay? The sheets are stuck to your legs. Your hair is matted. You got drool dried up everywhere. You're cranking the AC to 65 just to feel human. We can't do that anymore. Sleeping hot is so miserable. And we've blamed the thermostat for so long, the mattress, and even the person sleeping next to you. I know. I'm guilty of that, but it truly is none of that, okay? It's your bedding. The wrong sheets will trap your heat. And Bow and branch has a nice, cool side of a pillow for everyone. All right? They have summer bedding options that are breathable, lightweight, and designed to keep you cool all night long. Long. And funny enough, I got to see their store firsthand when I was in Minneapolis. Their sheets are 100 organic cotton, specifically woven for airflow, not just softness. And so the thing that sets them apart from other cooling technology is that it's not synthetic, okay? It's not chemically treated fabrics. This cooling is structural. It's literally how the cotton is woven. And 94 of bowling branches customers say that their sheets get softer with every wash. And I can attest to that. It's on the kids bed. It's on my bed. It's on the content house beds. It's everywhere. We absolutely love Bowen Branch so you guys can sleep cooler this summer with bowen branch. But this company that you're describing, they need to hire you as their spokesperson because I have never heard of this in my entire life.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, I, like, I signed up, so I, like, just have a little bit of money comes out of my account every month to go to them because I'm just, like, so obsessed. But I'm like, if I had a dream job job, it would be to, like, quit everything and just help Thanos. But I also think that would. I would be so depressed because I can't handle bad things happening to animals. I even, like, if I go horseback riding, I, like, talk to the horse first.
Kail Lowry
Like, is this okay? We need consent? Nay, if it's a yes.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I am a horse whisperer. That's.
Kail Lowry
I have always said that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But I asked so many questions first because I'm like, do they like this? And sometimes they say yes. And most actually, all the time, they said, what are they gonna say? No, no. Get on the horse now. But I just, like, I. I want to resc. I want to live on a farm. I'm so jealous.
Kail Lowry
So then why are you in New York?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Because I'm getting there. I'm trying to put myself in. In positions to be successful so that I can retire so I can live on a farm.
Kail Lowry
So do you also have a place in Nashville?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Okay. Will you keep that, or will you.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I think so, because I don't plan to live in New York forever.
Kail Lowry
Okay. It's just, like, an era.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I feel like I'm just having a moment. I would like to, like, maybe be here for two or three years and then go back to Nashville.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
My. My dream would to be. Yeah. To have land in Nashville. Farm, and then to have a summer house in Canada where I grew up.
Kail Lowry
I was today years old when I found out that you are from Canada.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's. Well, I. Do I have a Canadian accent? Sometimes I do.
Kail Lowry
When I. Now that I know that I hear
Kaitlyn Bristow
it, when I drink, it really comes out. Or if I'm like, with family, it's so. My sister is so Canadian, and same with my dad. They say, I'm not even joking. They go, oh, I know it.
Kail Lowry
Oh. Oh.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's crazy.
Kail Lowry
Are they also in the United States? Are they still in Canada?
Kaitlyn Bristow
No, my whole family's still in Canada.
Kail Lowry
Your new partner. Yes. Would he be interested in going to Nashville, or is he, like, a city guy through and through?
Kaitlyn Bristow
No, he's.
Michelle Maros
He's.
Kaitlyn Bristow
He wasn't at first interested, and now he's like. I call him. He's a human golden retriever. Like, he is Just such a good human.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And like his whole work is just like helping people. And that's like his love language is helping people. And he's just like such a doll. He's been in New York for a gosh, like 15 years and he's very much in a position where he's like, I. I would like to like not have the city life, like, sure. The go, go, go at all times. And you know, we're both in our 40s and wanting to have a family, so the idea of doing that in New York sounds terrifying.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But what he does for work, he could probably maybe branch out into Nashville eventually. Okay, that would be amazing. But yeah, he's also like. He's such a selfless person that he'd be like, sure, I'll just travel back to New York every week and then whatever you want.
Kail Lowry
My desk. My dentist does that. He has a family and so I live in Delaware. Yeah, he has a practice in Delaware and he splits the week between Delaware and Vegas.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, wow.
Kail Lowry
It works for him. And he has a family, so I mean, it's possible.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Forgive me for being Canadian, but is that a far travel?
Kail Lowry
It's six hour flight. Flight.
TextNow Disclaimer
Holy.
Kail Lowry
And a three hour time change. And he does it every week. I think, what a man of service. Yeah. And so. Yeah. And so I thought that was pretty cool. But I would imagine it would you after living in the city for some time, you either never gonna leave or you're like, okay, I could use a little bit of a break.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, it's. I just. I do feel good energy in New York, but like, I just. I am such a grandma at heart. Okay, well, I say that and I was literally dancing on the bars till 3am with Snooki and got a tattoo the other night. And I've like had the best time. I'm both. I such a Gemini. It's so bad. It's scabbing over right now. It's just like some cherries that kind of looks like a dick.
Kail Lowry
Oh, I kind of love that though. It's like a good story piece. You know what I mean?
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's way bigger than I wanted it
Kail Lowry
to be, but Snooky just did. She did some kind of show or something. I saw.
Kaitlyn Bristow
What, the ghost one? Yeah, the ghost hunters.
Kail Lowry
What is that?
Kaitlyn Bristow
She has a little intuition. Mediumness, Mediumship. I don't know what it's called.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, like clear clairvoyance.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I like that word, but I don't know what that means.
Kail Lowry
I think it's like, like a Medium, Sort of.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. She's got it.
Kail Lowry
I don't.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And so she does. I. I do.
Kail Lowry
You do.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But it. I think I could if I worked on it, but I don't really know if I want to. But, like, there's always a state that I get into. This is so weird. You know that state that, like, you're, like, about to fall asleep, and then you realize you're, like, about to go into a deep sleep, but you. You're still awake, like, lucid. Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I can feel people around me when I'm in that state.
Kail Lowry
Like. Like spirits.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I can feel animals. Paws on the bed, and I can feel footsteps around me.
Kail Lowry
Your whole life or as you became.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It was right after I lost my best friend in a car accident when I was 18 years old. And it was when I started believing in the afterlife because it was crazy. I had a dream about her. Her. She had just passed. My mom is very type A, very anal about, like, things being turned off. She would always, like, thermostat had to be a certain temperature. We always had to unplug our curling irons. Like, she was very. Everything was just like, needs to be a certain way. She's never done this before, but I. She was a school teacher. She came home for lunch, and she put a burner cover back on the burner and forgot to turn the stove off, which, again, is not like her. And I was sleeping, sleeping. And I still remember this dream that my girlfriend Lindsay, came up to me in the dream, and I was like, I've been waiting for you to come to me in my dreams. And she was like, okay, great, but you need to wake up. And I was like, no, don't go. And she just said, wake up. And she turned around, and she was in this beautiful white dress. And I woke up, and I was like, I really could go back to sleep. And I was just like. I got up, I went upstairs, and the whole upstairs.
Kail Lowry
I literally have chills. My hair is standing straight up.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It was all smoke upstairs. And the dream was so vivid. And then her and I had home videos from when we were little. We danced and we had home videos. And when she passed, I'd watch the videos, and anytime I started to cry, the video would spit out. And I would be like, but I want to watch. And it would be like. Then I'd get so upset, and it would spit out. It was like she was saying, like, stop doing this to yourself. And so many things happened, and I started being like, I think. I believe.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And then it all Started happening when I was 18, on my mom's couch. I remember. Remember falling into a. Falling into a sleep, a nap. You know what I mean? But I was in that state and I was like, holy. There's people walking around me, like, tiptoeing around me right now. And then when I. It just happened to me all the time. I moved into a really, really old house in Newfoundland, like, far east in Canada. Country Newfoundland. It's a city. It's a province. It's a province in Canada on the east coast.
Kail Lowry
I said Providence.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Most American do also.
Kail Lowry
Why did I think that was a country?
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's a.
Kail Lowry
Is there a country? No, I'm thinking of Neverland, Netherlands.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
But Newfoundland is a province.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes. I lived in St. John's which is a city.
Kail Lowry
Back to school.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I didn't even know where Delaware was.
Kail Lowry
Most people are like, what state is that in? And I'm like, literally the first one. Yeah. Yeah. I'm there either.
TextNow Advertiser
Don't.
Kail Lowry
I'm not claiming Delaware. I'm there by accident.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, anyways, I moved into a very old house and I would feel animals on the bed. I'm talking like a cat doing this. Kneading on my chest.
Kail Lowry
What?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
You need to do ghost hunters.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I know. I should.
Kail Lowry
You got to be on the. Is that like a season or like a one episode thing?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I don't know.
Kail Lowry
Okay, well, you got to. You got to tell Snooki that. You got to do the next one.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I should tell her. She. I'd be like, I got a shitty tattoo for you. Put me on the next.
Kail Lowry
I have always been, like, kind of gone back and forth. Like, I don't believe in a higher power, but I believe in the universe and all of those things. Right. Like energy and stuff like that. But I don't think. Because I don't necessarily know about, like, the afterlife and spirits because nothing has ever happened to me.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Or like, I haven't experienced it, but I'm not, like, completely shutting it out either. But I feel like you have to almost experience it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's. Yeah.
Kail Lowry
To really commit to whether, like, you believe in it or not.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'll tell you what I will not believe if I end up getting pregnant with a boy because three mediums have told me I have a baby girl waiting to be born. So whenever I'm ready.
Kail Lowry
So. Okay. Can we talk about. I didn't even expect to talk about this, but I. I thought. Okay. So, new partner.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Want to start a family?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
How has it been for you so far, being childless? Like, do you get a lot of hate or do you feel like you get a lot of support?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Neither.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Because I don't really. Like. I think the majority of people who follow me know that, like, I would love to be a mom one day.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I think the majority of people know that I don't give a shit that I am childless and, like, that. I don't care what timeline. I'm. I don't like a timeline. I. I don't give a shit about a timeline. I believe in just things happening when they're supposed to. So I don't feel like people really are like, you know, they'll try and be like, oh, you're going to be alone and childless forever. When, like, cuz had two public breakups. So they think, like, it must be
Kail Lowry
the woman that's annoying.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. So some people like. But that doesn't. That's not, like, getting me where it hurts.
Kail Lowry
Okay. Because I think that there's a lot of discourse online about people who are childless or choose to maybe not start a family right away.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Podcast Advertisers
And.
Kail Lowry
And as a mom of seven, I.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You have seven children?
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Why did I think you only had four?
Kail Lowry
No clue. I have six boys, one girl.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That's amazing. Okay, go on.
Kail Lowry
Sorry. And the girl came with the boy because they're twins.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Uh, that's my dream. I want twins.
Kail Lowry
I wish twins on everyone. I love twins has been the coolest experience I've ever. Like, obviously love all my children. I'm not saying that my twins are cool.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's a unique experience.
Kail Lowry
It's the most. That's the most unique experience and the coolest thing. Like, for you, I hope you have twins. Like, I genuinely like it is. And usually people are like, what the. Why would you wish that on me? And it's like, I know it feels like a lot, but if you. If you have twins your first time, you don't know any different.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I always love twins.
Kail Lowry
You don't know any different.
Kaitlyn Bristow
My. My hockey player, the one that got away, was a twin.
Kail Lowry
Are you serious?
TextNow Disclaimer
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I love twins.
Kail Lowry
But, you know, it's only. People are like, oh, like, the dad is a twin. It's not hereditary on the dad side. It's only hereditary on the mom's side.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, damn it. My dad had twins. Or my dad's side of the family has twins.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. So it won't really impact you much, but the older you get, you have
Kaitlyn Bristow
twins, the more chances you have. Yeah, but you were on. You were going to say something, and I totally interrupted You.
Kail Lowry
Oh, no, I probably interrupted myself.
Kaitlyn Bristow
What was. Do you remember you want to have a girl?
Kail Lowry
Oh, childless. Oh, do people bother you about being childless? And there's a lot of discourse on TikTok, like forcing, not forcing them because you can't force anybody but like talking down to people who are not on a timeline to have children.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I just don't like extremes. Like, I don't like the people that are like, like, that's so selfish to not have children. And then I don't like the people who are not having children and they're like, like, I love Chelsea Handler. But when she's like, look what I could do, and she's like walking around smoking weed and say, I could do this because I don't have children, it's like, I don't like the extremes.
Kail Lowry
Right, right, right, right, right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I just think like I, I, I get so sad if somebody like dreams of having a family and can't.
Michelle Maros
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm so like, I just, I just don't like when people, people just any extreme. I'm like, can't we all just like, I don't get it.
Kail Lowry
Like, why is. It's not, it doesn't have to be black and white.
TextNow Disclaimer
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I don't get, I'm like, you're allowed to have other opinions and like, you don't believe in this. And like, we believe in energy. Like, why does that people get so mad? That's what I would say a lot of people get mad at me for because I've been on like a journey of like, what do I believe? And people are always like, find Jesus. And I'm like, okay, but what if my Jesus is the moon? What if that is my Jesus and that's who I pray to and that's what is my higher power. And I believe that like mate, what if Jesus is the moon?
Kail Lowry
I can't with religion.

I want to be like an old. I can't wait. I'm going to hit a point where I just like, there's nothing more you can do for your looks, Caitlin. There's nothing more. Just embrace the old. And then I want to be like such a Smoking cigarettes and like drinking whiskey and like rocking on my rocking chair, yelling at kids to get off my land.
Kail Lowry
What is the baddy winkle? Do you remember baddy winkle? That let me pull.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Did we have that in Canada? I'm sure Batty winkle.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. She's like this or Grandma Droniac on Tik Tok. Oh, they're freaking fabulous.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, I want that. I want to be a. I probably would if I saw her.
Kail Lowry
She's like a. She does these like bits on Tik Tok and she's like. Talks about like, let's go see my ex at the cemetery.
Michelle Maros
Yes.
Kail Lowry
And I love her and I'm like, that's gonna be me. Because I just. The fear of like the wrinkles and stuff. Cuz I've seen how my family. It's the way my family ages. So I've been getting Botox for. Since I was 28. I'm 34.
Kaitlyn Bristow
No light. Okay. But life is more than wrinkles. I. Trust me. This is coming from a woman who I. I just came back from my. I literally when I fly to Nashville, I'm like, I will always go back to my girlfriend Elizabeth at Indie Scare. Indie Indie Scare Indie Skincare in Nashville because she does the best Botox and filler. I will always go to her. But I want to also be like old and crepey and gross and life.
Kail Lowry
That actually sounds really funny though. Like, that sounds like a good time.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, you got to just make it a good. I get it. But once you hit the point of. You're like, there's no helping this. Lean into that.
Kail Lowry
We'll see.
Kaitlyn Bristow
40s are so good.
Kail Lowry
Are they?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Okay. I worry because they said the 30s would be good. 30s have whooped my ass. Like the sex is better. Like think thank Rihanna for that. Because I'm like, okay, we can get behind this.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes, that gets better. But that's what I mean. The sex gets better because you have more love for yourself. Just so you know, self love is where it all starts. And you. The older you you get, the more you want to accept and love yourself and get to know yourself and like, stop caring about what others think. And then you have better sex and you have a better life. And then you just like, you just. You'll get there. 40s to me. When I turned 40, I was like, this is so chic. I want. I wish I was divorced. That sounds even more chic. I've been engaged twice, so there's that. That sounds not good, but divorce sounds chic.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I want a man who's Been divorced and I want.
Kail Lowry
Why the man who's been divorced.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, they've learned so many. They, they, they're like, oh, don't want to do that again. And then they're like, okay, they're better.
Kail Lowry
Okay, so tell, go home, tell my boyfriend, get married and divorced and come back to me.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Huh. How old is he?
Kail Lowry
33. 30. 33.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Okay. His frontal lobes developed, so we're good there.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. And he's a completely different person since his frontal lobe has been developed. So that's good.
Kaitlyn Bristow
How long have you been with him?
Kail Lowry
One year. But I've known him, I've known him since before my first baby dad.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You're.
Kail Lowry
They went to high school together. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, is it cute? I don't know. I think it's cute now. I think feel. But to your point. Yeah, I mean I could, I could see that. But do you think both things can be true? That we can love Botox and Disport and also love ourselves? Yes, because I feel like if I'm going to love, truly commit to loving myself in my 40s, like I.
Kaitlyn Bristow
We got to start now.
Kail Lowry
Working on it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It I. Working on it again. I can't sit here and tell anyone to feel the way that I feel because we've all gone through different phases and stages of life and different twists and turns and paths and trauma. But not. But. And I think both things can be true where if you really do find your selfworth it, it sounds so contradicting. Cuz I'm like, if I did, would I need Botox? But I love feeling young, looking young. I feel 28 years old. I want.
Kail Lowry
Look at Kris Jenner.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Look at Kris Jenner. I will be getting a facelift from her doctor.
Kail Lowry
If I looked like, like her and had the success, have the success at her age, I'll be willing to live a little longer.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But I'll tell you what, I do care. I, I know I love Botox and all the things that I say I do. But I will say when you work on the inside, you feel better on the outside.
Kail Lowry
For sure. For sure.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I feel like I care less in my 40s about what I look like compared to in my 30s.
Kail Lowry
Okay. Did you, when do you think that switch hit when you turned 40 or maybe before that?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I can't pinpoint it. It was like a, like a bunch of micro moments in my life of, of doing all the like different, all the different therapies. I've done all the different retreats. I've done all the different like spiritual Experiences I've done. I feel like over time, it broke down my view on what success looked like, on what, what pretty looks like, on what, like, youth is and what, you know, like. It's just. I just have such a different appreciation for myself. Especially after I froze my eggs. I used to have. I still do have body dysmorphia to the max. But like now, instead of standing in the mirror and like, being like, look at that and look at this. I'm like, hey, no.
Kail Lowry
Like, you kind of trained yourself to not.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Uhhuh. And then I start saying what I love about myself and like, it's. It's such a practice. Self love is such a practice.
Kail Lowry
It is. No, because I think so often people in the public eye will constantly be like, I don't care what people say. I don't care comments say, but subconsciously, if you're reading them regularly, it will with you no matter what.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. And now I'm at a place where if people say things about my looks like, yeah, of course. I'm like, oh, is that true? Or is this like an insecurity that they hit? And I'm like. Or I'm just like, people are so sad in the world. Mental health and like the loneliness epidemic and mental health, like, the world is so scary right now. And I, I'm like, these people are just. It's so easy to take it out on somebody from reality TV or somebody that's on Instagram or somebody that gets like over a hundred comments and they think it's going to get lost in the shuffle, but it gives them a little jolt. If I feel better about myself, it, like, just makes me sad for them.
Kail Lowry
Do you feel like you had self confidence and, you know, a strong sense of self worth before reality tv, like growing up and you know, did you have a pretty good childhood?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I had a good childhood, but I was a ballerina.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
So.
Kail Lowry
Okay, I'm, I'm asking because I have a daughter.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
And I. My mom hated me. So I'm just curious to see, like, what can I do to instill in my daughter now so that she always has that and doesn't question it?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Growing up, you already are doing it because you want to.
Kail Lowry
So but for you, like, was.
Kaitlyn Bristow
My mom was probably like, too loving.
Kail Lowry
Oh, okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
She loved me so much and like I said, think she. She was a perfectionist. So she really wanted me to, like, have my hair perfect every time and wear the. I was never allowed to dress myself. Like, I had to wear the certain outfit with the bow she would braid my hair every night so that it was wav each but curlers in the end, so it had curls on the bottom. Like, my sister had to be matching. We had to be very, like, put together. But, like, at the end of the day, she really embraced. Embraced. Both my parents really embraced me. I was so quirky, I was so weird. I was so particular. I had ocd, I had anxiety, and they really just embraced who I was. I feel very grateful for that.
Kail Lowry
Right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Because I do think it instilled a lot of self worth and confidence on me. But at the same time, all my trauma comes from dance. Dance. And my mom was a professional ballerina and she had the same issues as I do. So I can't help but feel like she projected some onto me. But she's very aware of. Of that and she feels terrible. But.
Kail Lowry
But she was just doing this for the first time too.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes, exactly. And I did this whole. It's called the. It's called Hoffman where it's inner child workshop. And I always joke on my podcast that, like, everyone should drink every time I say that, because I bring it up 80 million times a day to people. But it. It is such. It's so healing for forgiving your parents for what they only knew, who they were, what they did, and how, like, you say your mom hated you, but, like, it's because of what she had experienced and what she went through. Like, nobody should ever feel what you felt.
Kail Lowry
Okay. Of course. Right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But you kind of just like, dig a little deeper into compassion and empathy for them as human beings and her being an addict. And like, this is a book. It's a actual, like, place in California that you go, no, I need to go there. You should absolutely go.
Kail Lowry
Like that sounds. But can we go back to what you said earlier about your mom being a perfectionist and you had to wear the certain outfit and do the certain things.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes. So I always associated love with looking a certain way. Okay.
Kail Lowry
Interesting. When you said that, my first thought was, well, that's kind of narcissistic if you have to. But then on the other side of it, it's like, no, your mom probably cared about what she looked like, which is a good thing.
Michelle Maros
Yes.
Kail Lowry
And then two, like, what your kids look like. And for me, I like, feel. Feel like in different periods of my life, I've gone through depression where I looked like a freaking slob. Right. And somebody told me one day, like, put yourself together. Pull yourself out of the trenches. Put yourself together. If you get dressed every day and you feel like, you look good. That's the start. Right. And I feel like that also too,
Kaitlyn Bristow
is like, I know it's.
Kail Lowry
There's a fine line.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
I think. But also, maybe if my mom. But that was part of it. Like, I didn't look good enough for my mom. I didn't get ready enough. I wasn't skinny enough. I wasn't any of the things enough, enough. But then on the flip side, it's like, to some degree, you do have to care about that stuff.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. I. It's. It again, it's the extremes.
Kail Lowry
Right, right, right, right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Like, I. You know what I'm actually really proud of my mom for is I thought she would be 100, getting facelifts. And because she did care about her looks and like, I thought she would have, like, an eating disorder or disordered eating or, like. And she really. She just, you know, she works out, she lifts weights. She doesn't. She hasn't done anything. She'll like, maybe get some boto. I thought she would go so extreme that way. But what's sweet is that she has told me that she has learned a lot from me because I've done so much work on myself to know that that's not what makes me worthy.
Kail Lowry
Right.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And that's what I thought was. But I've. That I've actually been able to help her not go down that road.
Kail Lowry
That's kind of full circle.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
I love that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. It was really. It's really sweet. And I just, I really think I'm just so. I. I really won the lottery with parents and, like, love, and I, I know that.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. Yeah, that's really cool.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But. But again, I've gone through, like, so many periods of doubt, severe depression, anxiety. I, I definitely, like, had to go to the doctor once because I didn't want to be here anymore. Like, I've gone through so many hard times, and those times are what has built me into who I am today.
Kail Lowry
When you were going through some of those moments, would you say they were anything to do with the public eye or kind of before that?
Kaitlyn Bristow
It was before. I'm actually so grateful for what the heartbreak and the, the like, low lows that I had because it forced me to do therapy to then learn that, like, my parents fixed everything for me growing up. If anything was bad. Nope, it wasn't bad. Everything's going to be great and we're going to fix it. And I had no coping skills and I just thought everything needed to be perfect. And when this heartbreak happened to me, where I Thought my life was over. I was like. It was the first time someone told me, told me, like, of course you're feeling this way. You have no coping skills. And I was like, whoa. I just got validated, and I thought I was crazy. And then I started being like, I really liked that therapist. I'm going to go back to her. And she taught me so much about, like, just, like, you're loved because you exist. And then that started my therapy journey, and I was 27. So then I went on the Bachelor at 29, after two years of, like, doing a lot of therapy, where I felt like I'd finally gotten to a place where I'm like, okay, I think I know. But then TV broke me down and chewed me up and spat me out, and I had to go through all this, like, work again. But it's an ongoing journey. Your body, your mind, everything is your home. Like, you don't just buy a home and it's perfect, and you live in it forever, happily ever after, right? You're going to get a leak. You're going to have a pipe that bursts. You're going to, like, have all these things that you need to just tweak and work on. And, like, that's just life.
Kail Lowry
The journey of. For everybody, not just us, not people in the public eye, like, literally every single person.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Every person.
Kail Lowry
But I think for us, we have it on display for everybody to also pick up part. And it's like, if you're pointing that out, how do you think we totally. We see it, too. You know what I mean? What has been your favorite project that you've done since the Bachelorette was the first sort of your. Your entrance into, like, the industry, right?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Okay. What do you. What has been your favorite from then until now? I didn't. I know people might be listening, hoping that we would talk about the Bachelor or the Bachelorette, but I. I don't know. I feel like it was kind of old.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I. I honestly think everybody knows my
Kail Lowry
story, and I just didn't want to do that again.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, no, I appreciate that because I. I mean, I could.
Kail Lowry
They could also read your book.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I don't have a book.
Kail Lowry
You don't have a book?
Kaitlyn Bristow
No.
Kail Lowry
I want that you repost or you wrote a book or something.
Kaitlyn Bristow
No, I want to. I want to write a. I want to write a book.
TextNow Disclaimer
But.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, dancing with the Stars and then do. Getting to be on Broadway was like, the two things that I'm like, I can retire now. My whole. Like, my whole childhood and going into my 20s I wanted. I loved theater and I loved singing and I loved dancing and. And then somehow I ended up hosting and singing in a show on Broadway in New York for eight weeks for a Christmas special. And that was like the coolest thing. I think I've done that and Dancing with the Stars.
Kail Lowry
I think Broadway and theater is so underrated and just not hyped up. It's like under nobody talks about. And I'm like, this isn't like when Trisha Paytas started doing all her Broadway stuff. I'm like, are you kidding me?
Michelle Maros
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Like this is insane. Also to everything that you've said so far and then wanting to start your family. I think it's really cool that if you do end up having a daughter, you, you've done so much work within yourself.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
That you'll go into having a. I mean either, either sex. But I think more so for daughter doing all that work on yourself before you have one is going to make the world of a difference as a mom. And I think that's a. I, I tell my kid. I literally just got done telling my kids there are some of my children that I think won't have kids, which is fine. And then the other ones, I said my one hope for you guys. And obviously once you turn 18, there's not much I can say or do, but I hope that you live your life to the fullest before you think about a family. And yes, there are pros and cons to being an older parent and a younger parent, but for me, like it's. I, I hope that they also do kind of what, what you've. And I don't know if that was by choice or by nature, but I guess either way selfish. Okay. And that's perfectly. I want my kids to be selfish. Like this world is so cruel and so hard to navigate as an individual. Like do the work on yourself first. Because my kids have had to kind of go through a lot of that stuff with me and that's not fair to them where you get to do the work and then you can teach
Kaitlyn Bristow
that to your k. Still up somehow.
Kail Lowry
Of course, of course. No doubt. But I think like the nitty gritty of it, you kind of, you're working on like you probably won't project any like self confidence or, or.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, I probably will cuz I'll be like mommy's got to go get Botox.
Kail Lowry
I mean I talk about it to my kids. Like when I got my facelift, my, I got a lower facelift and a neck lift and I like, we just make dark humor. It's just funny, you know what I mean? But I think self def defecating. But I think that's going to be really incredible for you as a mom and moving forward into that journey. But does it scare you?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Michelle Maros
Really? The world?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
I mean the world is the scariest freaking part. I will say that birth to one is not a good time. Just to warn you one.
Michelle Maros
Really.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, but I am so obsessed with babies. But I want. I love baby face.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm scared of teenagers. That scares me.
Kail Lowry
I see. I feel like I'm the opposite. The teenage Elliot's here. He's in the other room. My oldest son. Yeah. I was like, let's bring him. Bring him to New York. The, the. They're cute. But then it's like, what do you do? Because they don't sit up, so you either have to hold them or plop them down somewhere. And so like that part of the day gets really tricky because you're like, I can't really get anything done because you're just sitting here like a blob.
TextNow Disclaimer
True.
Kail Lowry
And then. But then you can't really have your hands full and then you're freaking tired. That. That's. It's just not a fun time. But toddlerhood. If I could freeze time for toddlerhood.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Three, four years.
Kail Lowry
But some people hate toddler years. Yeah, I guess is my. I also hope you have. Do you want a girl? Wait, you froze your eggs? Do you talk about that or. No, you can test them to see what if they're boys or girls or. Do you feel like that's playing the universe?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Okay. Fair, fair, fair, fair. I have. My co host for my other podcast is a lesbian and they did reciprocal IVF where. Do you know what that is?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
Okay. For anyone who's listening that doesn't know, they basically each got. Did an egg retrieval and then they carried each other's egg. And my co host, Becky, who's also one of my best friends, she only got one viable embryo and it survived. And they have a son now. I asked them when I was with them last week, I said, are you going to test for the sex? And they said, probably not. And I guess there's more of a risk if you don't do it right away to thaw them out. You risk losing eggs and then testing them and then refreezing or not.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, I don't even know. I think I got 11 eggs and I don't know if they're good or not. But that was when I was 32, and I'm now 41.
Kail Lowry
So that's really interesting, though, because I. At 30, I think I was. I had my fourth son at 28. So it was around between 28 and 30. I went to a specialist, a fertility clinic, and I said I wanted to freeze my eggs. And he was. And he was like, well, why? And I said, well, yeah, I have four kids. I said, but I'm not with my. I don't have a partner that I want to be with for life. And I think naturally, when you fall in love with someone, you. You just naturally want to procreate. And, you know, if I don't have the. I don't know what I would. How I would feel about that. And he was really not one of.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You're just saying it, right?
TextNow Advertiser
He.
Kail Lowry
True. You're right. That's interesting. So you were pretty young when you decided to freeze them.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, when I. So the girl that, quote, unquote, won the season of the Bachelor that I actually have a call scheduled with her today. I love her so much. She's a fertility nurse in Chicago.
Podcast Advertisers
Shut up.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes. And she has her own company called Lily, and they really make it so you feel so empowered as a woman and what your body can do. Yes. And they care so much about the process in every little detail. And she taught me all about freezing my eggs. And anyone that wants to do that, you should look up Whitney. Angel is her name, and her company's called Lily. And I would do it again with her because she changed my body dysmorphia not to go away, but she healed something in me that made me appreciate what my body can do more than what it looks like.
Kail Lowry
Right. And I think that can change your entire experience. Can I ask if you would want to carry or use a surrogate?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I want to carry. So you do. Oh, I love the thought of being pregnant.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, yeah, yeah. But toddlerhood is.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You heard it somewhere. Obviously, you're gonna.
Kail Lowry
I hope you love it. Some people hate it if I can't get pregnant. No, we're not gonna speak that into existence.
TextNow Advertiser
See?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, I've done. I've done my work.
Kail Lowry
You can. You have to speak positively.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Do you see that?
Kail Lowry
You have to speak positively because you will get pregnant and you will be able to carry. And I do believe, for me, I'm manifesting twins.
Podcast Advertisers
You.
Kail Lowry
I. I'm telling. Like, they fight, like, fist fight. But also, toddlerhood is insane. But they are so sweet to each other. Also, like, they'll feed Each other, like snacks and stuff. And then they'll hold hands in the crib. They try to escape the cribs together. Like ride or die. Versan Valley.
TextNow Advertiser
Oh.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, beautiful. I like that.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. Thank you. So I. I really wish twins for you.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Thank you.
Kail Lowry
And also, if I have any advice. This is unsolicited. You didn't ask.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I want it.
Kail Lowry
Hire a night nurse. Oh, I will hire a night nurse. I. I never did. And it was. I wish that instead of spending my money on frivolous items that I bought, I hired a night nurse.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I truly know that I am a person who functions on sleep.
Kail Lowry
Yes.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I will show up as a better mother if I am rested.
Kail Lowry
Yes.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Not every night. I. I want to, like, experience like the. The sleepless nights with the baby and the breastfeeding. Like, if I'm so lucky. Lucky. I want to.
TextNow Advertiser
If.
Kaitlyn Bristow
God willing, moon willing. Brianna willing.
Kail Lowry
Truly.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Because the sleepless nights will make or break you. And I cannot tell you enough. Like, the supportive partner will make her. Like, having your partner there will be. Will make or break you too. Like, if you have a partner where you're just doing it all yourself. You're like, I don't know why I signed up for this.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Your question.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I think I could, but that's like
Kail Lowry
the people who choose.
Kaitlyn Bristow
My toxic trait is I think I could do everything by myself.
Kail Lowry
No, no. And you, you could.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
You total. But if you have the partner next to you and you have to do it alone, you're like, because I used to squirt my ex husband with milk, like when I was nursing in the middle of the night. And if you ask my son, what was your dad doing? He'll say he was sitting there in basketball shorts and it's just a running joke. He's a great dad. He's a fantastic dad. But I used to be so resentful because he was the first baby I was able to breastfeed for a full year. My first son, I gave up around six to eight weeks. So it was. There were times where it was frustrating for me because he can't help me. I'm nursing and you can't help. So squirt him with milk. And. Yeah. I don't know why I started telling that story, but.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Because it's funny. Because it's iconic. And you love doing iconic shit.
Kail Lowry
I love doing iconic shit.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, you.
Michelle Maros
You.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I will continue to speak positively about having a healthy pregnancy and you will continue to say that you will live past 65.
Kail Lowry
Okay, fine. Actually, Funny story. I. My hairstylist was pregnant. She found out she was pregnant and I was manifesting. We were trying to manifest. She's a twin. We're manifesting twins for her. And I ended up pregnant with twins six weeks later. We manifested too hard too Taylor. Shout out to Taylor. She did not get twin. She has a daughter. But I. We manifested too hard to the wrong.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You were like in it.
Kail Lowry
But I also love it. So I hope that you.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, my. The girl I was telling you about, Cleo, who was my business partner, best friend, did my everything with me. She's pregnant with twins right now.
Kail Lowry
Twins. Does she know what they are? Like, what the sex is?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Boy and girl.
Kail Lowry
Shut up.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Originally thought I was having. Having two boys.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Really?
Kail Lowry
When you do the genetic. Not the genetic, the NIPT test or whatever it is, and it's a girl boy, it only picks up the boy.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, interesting.
Kail Lowry
Because girl, I believe, is X and boy is xy. So you can't see the X because the XY was picked up. Does that make sense? So I thought I was having seven boys because I already had the five. That's so crazy. And I was like, I was in Nashville or around Chattanooga maybe when I found out and I was like, bro, what am I going to do with seven boys?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Well, but you. That's. Remember I asked if you had brothers? If you grew up like you. I think you were supposed to have boys.
Kail Lowry
I love them. I. They're so fun. Does. So does your partner. Is. He wants to have kids too, in a family. Oh, that's so sweet. I love that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, he. And he's been divorced. It's so hot.
Kail Lowry
I don't get it. I. I need to know more about, like, the chicness of being. Because I'm divorced.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's chic.
Kail Lowry
It's chic.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. I wish I was divorced enough. Not engaged. No. I'm so glad. I actually did not go through with those marriages. Thank God. But.
Kail Lowry
Oh, yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I mean, but there would have been a lesson there.
Kail Lowry
True, true.
Kaitlyn Bristow
There's a lesson. True. The lesson I learned from the last one is that, like, Caitlyn, you're not perfect. Just because he sucks doesn't mean you didn't either.
Kail Lowry
Before we started recording, you said that you talk about your partner, but not his name. Yeah. Why the change?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I think because I had two public relationships and I saw them both kind of turn into like this online pressure of being performative.
Kail Lowry
Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And then if people would count, like, you guys didn't post in 12 posts
Kail Lowry
and you're broken up. You're fighting.
TextNow Disclaimer
Yes.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And then this is my. I was always trying to figure out why people are so, like, invested in certain things. And, like, obviously, I love that they're invested and care about my relationship or my life. And that's so sweet. But it's the ones that, like. Like, want to fill in the gaps of what they have created in their brain. So they're like, they haven't posted in this long. I'm gonna fill in the gaps on my own. And then they attack instead of, like, nobody has to fill in any gaps because they don't know anything. It feels. It feels like there's something very romantic about being private.
Kail Lowry
Do you feel like you would ever, like, if you guys got married or something, that you would. Okay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. Because we're even at the point where we're like, we're so proud of each other and, like, what we. What we're doing, and it's not us hiding because we think we're, like, superior and, like, we're so public. Like, don't look at us. It's not that. It's just, like. It's literally any video we take is for us.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
We. We slow dance in every city that we go to together and record it for us.
Kail Lowry
For you.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Because we don't have. We don't feel any pressure to post or to, like, it's not to look how happy we are. It's literally just for us. And I just. There's something just so romantic about being private. But he's just, like, his presence online is so, like, he wants to change the world. And mine's like, I'm, like, smoking weed and making fart jokes. Like, we couldn't be more opposite.
Kail Lowry
I'm so glad that you make fart jokes, though. Like, because I My pants on a regular basis, and I'm not talking about a shark. Right. So it's. It's nice to know that there. And I always. I never know if I should rebrand and not do that anymore, but it's nice to know that you're still. You're Be.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You don't. If you're. I'm all about reinventing yourself at any age and rebrand. Whatever. Whatever. But I. I was. Even when you brought up your pants, I was like, it's so funny. No matter who I talk to, Pants always comes up with conversations with me. And that's like. Yeah, it's so funny. It, like. Because I always do confessions on my podcast where people tell me embarrassing stories, and the amount of people that have their pants and told me about it on my podcast is hilarious.
Kail Lowry
Oh, good. Okay. I. Then I feel right at home. But so, so you guys are just polar opposite. It works. You guys do this for you and nobody else. And when. When the time is right, if it ever comes, maybe you'll share that with the world.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
I love that so much.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, it's really nice.
Kail Lowry
And does he have you counted out marriage because of your experiences? No. You still would get married and do all of the things.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I would get married. I would not get married. He wants to get married. I just, like, I've never. I've never really been the girl that, like, dreamt about a wedding, but. And then being engaged twice and seeing all the planning that goes into it and how much money. I'm like, why would anyone do that?
Kail Lowry
I'm down for justice of the peace.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Same. I would do that.
Kail Lowry
Like, there are some really. We're talking about chic or classic. The courthouse wedding that you put together with, like, the really nostalgic. Not nostalgic, like the black and white, like, classic photos at the courthouse. Chef's kiss. I love them. I think they're so cute.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I'm so down.
Kail Lowry
I love that. Yeah, I love that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But I mean, I, I, I just, I like the idea of partnership. I guess that's what marriage is. And like, I, I don't know. I'm just like, I don't. This is so weird. People think I'm like, oh, Caitlin loves attention. And I'm like, I like making people laugh. And I like attention, as in, like, I like bringing a crowd together and, like, performing. And yes, I'm very, like, I like entertaining, but I actually like the thought of a wedding and everyone's staring at me and needing photos with me. And, like, that gives me anxiety.
Kail Lowry
I got me. I had a big wedding. I don't remember. We had 150 people, which was a big deal when we were 21. To have that many people.
TextNow Advertiser
People.
Kail Lowry
And I didn't know 90 of them. Never spoke to 90 of them again. And also, like, didn't get to talk to people I wanted to talk to because for what, like, I'm paying 150 a plate for. For these people. I'm. I'm paying for you to party.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah. I feel like a lot of hot takes on weddings and that's. I just, I'm like, I love intimate things.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I like, even just, like, when I do the podcast tour, I, I don't want to, like, try and sell out a big, huge venue I want it to be like, I want to look everybody in the. And I want like to. At a wedding, I would want to know everybody and I want to know them so personally. And it's like such a special day. And if I'm not going to because he wants a big wedding, then I'm going to just treat it as like a party. I'm not going to. It's not our wedding, it's a party.
Kail Lowry
My co host that I was just telling you about, she did a private ceremony and then a really, really big reception. And I feel like I can get behind that too. Like, I think I can get behind
Kaitlyn Bristow
that, but at the same time I'm like, God, I. Living in New York is expensive. I went from Nashville. That is like really affordable to hear. I'm like, God. And then the wedding, I'm just like, it's. It seems like I'd rather. I'd rather buy my lake house in Canada.
Kail Lowry
Yeah. Barry's Bay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
No. Is that East Coast?
Kail Lowry
I have no idea. I just. The books that I read have Berry's Bay.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, funny.
Kail Lowry
And I. I'm like, one day I'm going to go, okay, is there like a lake or anything? There's the ocean, cuz I'll be there for. Are you serious? I didn't know the ocean was in Canada.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh,
Kail Lowry
college did nothing for me. Okay, not everyone needs to go.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Vancouver is right on the Pacific Ocean. There's all ocean and mountain.
Kail Lowry
Vancouver is west coast.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
When I picture. Because I live. I grew up 30 miles south of New York, State of like upstate New York.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
I just am always like my mind's eyes. East coast of Canada. I always forget that there's a west coast of Canada. And I. That now it makes sense. The Pacific.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Please use that as a clip. Please, please use canceled. There's an ocean in Canada and me
Kail Lowry
going, oh, I'm so embarrassed. This is. My kids are going to be like, mom, you're canceled. You're done.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Also, how the heck you do a pod. You have how many podcasts?
Kail Lowry
Three. What? This one by myself, one with Lindsay, one with Becky, who has been my best friend on and off for like 15 years.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You have three podcasts, children, a network, you're going on tour, a farm, four baby dads. Four baby dads.
Kail Lowry
They're the worst part.
Kaitlyn Bristow
But you, you realize that you're like, capable of anything.
Kail Lowry
No, we're going to be best friends because this is going. You're going to make me feel way better about myself after this.
TextNow Advertiser
I.
Kaitlyn Bristow
That is like My goal in life is for people that I like. I want to make them feel good about themselves. I really. I just filmed the show that will be coming out in January, and I. It was like a bunch of Real Housewives and people from Bravo, and I just saw these women. Women. And sometimes just the way they either talk to themselves or. And I just was like, I just want them to feel so good about themselves and like, do like. Because we were doing a lot of actually, like therapy and like, healing work on the show.
Kail Lowry
Yeah.
Kaitlyn Bristow
And I had to be like, okay, Caitlin, focus on yourself. Because I wanted to like, watch everybody go through this because it was just so beautiful.
Michelle Maros
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
I did marriage boot camp years ago.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, gosh.
Kail Lowry
I don't know if anyone like, I. I haven't follow hard it. The therapy techniques and the exercises.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Like, to this day. I did that show in 2016. Those exercises are. They're real and like, they will give you a whole new perspective. So, like, maybe the show is manufactured. Right. But like, those actual exercises really do work if you actually implement them into your real life.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I believe that that's. That's how I feel about the healing stuff we just did on the show. Who was. Wasn't there a bachelor couple on your. Your season of marriage?
Kail Lowry
Bachelor in paradise was Julia. And who. Oh, what was his name? What did you just say?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Jaden Tanner?
Kail Lowry
No, it was. I know who they are. I know who they are.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, Julia. Yeah, I remember Julia.
Kail Lowry
And what was the guy's name? He was like, blonde hair, kind of short, which. I have no idea is Bachelor in Paradise. Like. Like a spin off.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's like people from the Bachelor and the Bachelorette all meet on a beach and date each other.
Kail Lowry
Well, all shows have you done.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Just Bachelor, Bachelorette, Dancing with Stars, and then this new show that will come out in January on Amazon Prime. It's called the Retreat. It's literally gonna be like White Lotus.
Podcast Advertisers
Shut up.
Kaitlyn Bristow
It's gonna be exactly like that with a. Maybe a twist of like Eat, Pray, Love.
Kail Lowry
Oh, I'm. That's so exciting. Congratulations on that.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Really fun.
Kail Lowry
I don't. I want to do like, all the fun shows. Mass singer traders, all of it.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I would to love to do traders.
Kail Lowry
That would be real. Would you be. Would you be a trader?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Would you be a. I would let the wind blow me in whatever direction I'd be like, you tell me, what am I?
Kail Lowry
The universe has the. We'll pick where you're at.
Kaitlyn Bristow
You know what?
Kail Lowry
You kind of. Your vibe today is kind of giving miley Cyrus.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I get that a lot.
Kail Lowry
Do you really? I have not had one unique idea in my whole life.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I not like, okay, it's not like all the time, but when I was. What age did it start? I want to say I was like, 23 is when people really started saying that when she was younger. I looked like her when I was younger. And then who was it? It was when I was filming the show. Somebody was like, you are Miley Cyrus. And I was like, that's.
Kail Lowry
Do you love that or hate it?
Kaitlyn Bristow
I love it.
Kail Lowry
Oh, okay. I love Miley, so.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I love Miley a lot. And I'm friends with her sister Brandy, and so I've had the privilege of hanging out with Miley before, and she's amazing.
Kail Lowry
Does she think you look like her, too?
Kaitlyn Bristow
She didn't say.
Kail Lowry
She didn't say or see, say. Oh, okay. I used to tell my. I used to tell everyone my mom dated Billy Ray Cyrus, and he.
Kaitlyn Bristow
She didn't.
Kail Lowry
No.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh, it's a fun lie.
Kail Lowry
I don't know why I did that. It's fine. I also said Britney Spears was my sister, so.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Oh. I used to lie to people all the time when I was little. I used to tell everybody I lived on a farm because I wanted to.
Kail Lowry
So I'd be like, yeah, why are we like that?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Kids are weird liars. Kids are weird liars.
Kail Lowry
They are. They really are. That's another thing just to prepare yourself for.
Kaitlyn Bristow
No, I would be so scared. I was such a hooligan. I was such a degenerate from, like the time I was 16 to probably,
Kail Lowry
like 26 and just it up. Apparently
Kaitlyn Bristow
I would it up bad.
Kail Lowry
I'm still up pretty bad. So it's fine. You live and you learn.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah, that's true.
Kail Lowry
You know, when I die at 65 or whatever age that is. No, I'm going to have a lot of stories.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I. That's what I want to be. I want to be.
Kail Lowry
Yeah, I see that for you.
Kaitlyn Bristow
I want all the golden retrievers. I want horses. I want to live off the land, and I just want to, like, smoke menthols.
Kail Lowry
I love Newport 1/ hundreds.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yes.
Kail Lowry
I love that for you.
Kaitlyn Bristow
Yeah.
Kail Lowry
Well, I really appreciate your time. I'm fairly. I'm sorry. I took, like, 12 hours. Where can people find you? I know where to find you, but where can people find you?
Kaitlyn Bristow
Everything's under my name. Just Bristow on everything. My podcast is off the Vine. It comes out Tuesdays and Thursdays and. Yeah, new show on Amazon. Hopefully Jimmy January. We don't have a date yet.
Kail Lowry
