This is Scott Becker with the Becker Business in the Becker Private Equity podcast. These are eight pieces of career advice. These pieces of career advice largely come from Kai Kawasaki, the author of Wiser and a long term Apple leader, a brilliant engineer and thinker. And also from Chris Caram, a long term CEO in the crisis health system and an incredible person and leader. So here's the six that come from Guy Kawasaki and I'll give you the two that come from Chris Kieram. There's some overlap in these two sort of list and thoughts. First is show up. Indispensable people show up and they do the work you want to be the person that always shows up for the job. Second, do the work that nobody else wants to do. Don't be afraid to do the grunt work, the shit work, whatever you call it, Guy, what Kawasaki refers to as a shit work. But do the work that other people don't want to do. Don't be above it. Third. Third, constantly expand your skillset. Constantly try and get better and learn more and be a lifelong learner. Fourth, own a niche. Become really good in something where you're the person that's needed. Almost indispensable. Goes with that concept as well. Fifth, set very high standards. Everything you do, do really well or try and do really well. Sixth, make your boss look good. And this is one of the tricks to business is if you've got a boss, you got a client, your goal is to make them look good. If you make them look good, you look good. Here are two more pieces of advice from Chris Kiram. One of them overlaps really well with the Guy Kawasaki advice. Here. Chris says become the go to person for all things that need to be done. You want to be that person that when something needs to be done, they think of you. Same thing with clients, customers, bosses, all of those things. Finally, Chris says be visible. Stay insight, stay in the line of context. Stay where people think of you. When a project or an opportunity comes up, stay in the game. Again, those are eight pieces of career advice. We hope you enjoy them. Thank you so much for listening to the Becker Business and the Becker Private Equity podcast. Thank you very, very much.
