This is Scott Becker with the Becker Business Podcast and the Becker Private Equity Podcast. Today's discussion we generally cover private equity startups, AI and a lot more. The podcast this week just ranked number one at the Apple Business News Podcast. Today's discussion is Bike Trips and Bad Decisions so I made the commitment to go on a multi day bike trip and the idea being that it's a bike trip through wine country. It's really, really well organized. It's beautiful trip. You bike between 30 to 40 miles a day and then you drink wine and taste wine, do wine tastings and so forth. And this of course on the brochure sounds like the most wonderful thing in the world. You know, biking and stopping at vineyards and having some wine and then biking and biking 30 miles a day and whatever it is. So yesterday was the first day of this, this trip which is billed as a beautiful, fantastic vacation, you know. And I bike 3435 miles. And I could tell you there there are two huge negatives or faults in my thinking. First is I'm not really that much of a wine drinker. Second, I'm really not that much of a biker. So when you sign up for a trip that is biking and wine, the only thing I could assure you of is after the first day of this and then having wine last night and a little bit yesterday is that there are two things I know are for sure the case after five days on this trip. One is I am never going to want to see a blinking freaking bike ever again in my life. I'll actually say it out loud. I never am going to want to see a fucking bike ever again in my whole life. That is one. I look at a bike, I look at a bike helmet and now I get nauseous, sick, angry and so forth. And I still got four more days of riding this bike. Second is the wine is fantastic. But. But similarly to bikes, by the time I am done with this trip I am never going to want to taste a glass of wine again in my life. So again this is a learning experience. I'm growing person. But but the more that I grow, the more that I realize I like to go back to the hobbies that I love, the things that I love. Nothing makes me happier than things like, you know, writing, speaking, tennis, golf, and so forth and so on. And I think as I do more and more of these trips, I should just double down on the things that I actually understand and like doing and stick to those and not this dumb stuff like biking and wine drinking. Thank you for listening to the Becker Business Podcast. The Becker Private Equity Podcast. Oh, my goodness. Well, we'll be back with you tomorrow. And thank you to our producer, Chanel Bunger.
