This is Scott Becker with the Becker business and the Becker Private Equity Podcast. Today's discussion is Porsche sales slip. So, so here's the deal on the Porsche slump. Porsche sales went down about 10% year over year from 2024 to 2025. In 2024, they sold 310,000 vehicles. This past year they sold 280,000 vehicles. That's a drop of almost 10%. They had a very tough market in time selling cars in China. They're also finding the EV market, the electric vehicle market, very challenging. About 34% of the cars between either being hybrids with TV plugins or just true EVs that they sold are now having an electric component. I think the fast, most fast thing I've seen is that the Porsche Macan, which is a sort of small luxury SUV, it's the least expensive you can get for 50 to $65,000. And I, you can, I mean you could spend a lot more if you buy the S version or the GTS version. I drive the basic Macan. This is essentially their, their car that's made for middle aged men and soccer moms. It is what it is. But that car is their best selling car. The founder of Porsche has got to be rolling over in their grave. That sort of a soccer mom, golf dad car is now the best selling Porsche. It is what it is to the, to the benefit of Porsche. The Porsche 911 is second. So it's not like they've totally gone off the rails with middle aged drivers, but it is what it is. In any event, we find it hilarious.
