This is Scott Becker with the Becker Business and the Becker Private Equity Podcast. Today's discussion is Nvidia and why it keeps winning. So here's the gist of Nvidia. It's down about 2% year to date and you might say that's not winning. But compared to the Nasdaq, compared to most of the other companies in Magnificent 7, it's performing really well. Microsoft's down more than 10%, Tesla's down 7 to 8%. Amazon's down almost 8 to 9%. Nvidia in contrast down about 2%. And so what people keep on talking about all the things that are going on with artificial intelligence, with the different big social media companies, the big search firms and everybody else. One of the things that's fascinating about where Nvidia fits in is they end up in some ways not being the front facing party, but they sell the infrastructure that makes everything else possible. So the company's chips power much of the data center buildup that's going on across the data world. Other companies are spending tens of billions of dollars building AI infrastructure and having to work with people like Nvidia that provide that backend infrastructure. So one of the things that happens in healthcare, it's a fascinating classic business lesson. Many private equity funds don't like to invest in true providers, those that are actually getting reimbursement from the payer, the actual physician practice, the actual anything else but, but they're thrilled to invest in all the companies behind that, the digital tech and technology companies that are used by hospitals and health systems physicians and everybody else. It's sort of a classic business lesson. There's an old story about Levi Strauss. It wasn't in the gold business. It sold jeans and, and equipment to all the people that were, that were out there for the California gold rush. In a similar way, Nvidia sells what people think of as the picks and shovels behind the business that sell into the business. And that's where they're at. So again, Nvidia keeps winning. It's a fascinating business story. We continue to watch it play out. We're a very small investor in Nvidia, but, but we are, you know, we're always fast. When something grows that quickly, is it sustainable? And the more you understand about it, where it fits in and what it does, and how challenging it is to develop the strength that they have, the more confident you are that that Nvidia has long term stay as this magnificent leader again. It's the highest market cap company in the world right now. We'll see how it keeps on growing. Thank you for listening to the Becker Business and the Becker Private Equity Podcast. Thank you very much.
