I'm Jacqueline Zuckerman delaure award winning publicist, mom and media visionary. I believe visibility is just about being seen. It's about being of service. Each week we are going to uncover real stories behind success, the breakthroughs, the heartbreaks and the moments that made you who you are. Because the truth is the more we allow ourselves to be human, the more powerful our impact becomes. This is where visibility meets legacy. This is next on scene.
Today I want to talk about what the amazing Amy Posick is wearing. Okay. Denim, all the things. Good American, right?
B
Good American. Are you the brand?
A
Yes. I love it. Like head to toe. Skirt too, or top or.
B
Yeah. This, if you can believe it, is actually a one piece.
A
What?
B
It's actually a dress.
A
How fun is this?
B
I love a dress because it's so easy. It's one and done.
A
Like, really fun though. So fun. Like cozy but like dressed up with the boots and all the things. Okay. I want to talk about what denim means because I think this hits your personality. I was like, amy, don't tell me what you're wearing. We're going to talk about it tomorrow. So denim is all about resilience and rebellion and I love this for you because you push people, including yourself, constantly and I commend you for that. I think this speaks, like, volumes. And then let's talk about your ring, the Tiffany, because you just did a collab with them.
B
Just did a collab with Tiffany's. This was such an amazing thing for me. It was on my heart. I love the brand. It's been a part of my story. Celebrating different milestones with Tiffany's jewelry. To be able to collaborate with them was such an honor.
A
You're just amazing. And boots, what boots are you wearing?
B
These boots. I love black leather boots. They're from bobbles and lace.
A
So fun. Yes.
B
Shout out to their new report store did that.
A
How long has that been around?
B
It's been there for a couple years actually.
A
Yeah.
B
Yeah. But I love a leather boot.
A
Same and like perfect season for it. Yeah, I love it. All right, come join us.
B
I'm so excited.
A
I am going to create a soundtrack of everybody's red carpet songs. So you could listen to it, like, when you need some motivation or all the things. So what are two of Amy's red carpet songs in the season of life you're in right now?
B
Okay. I love Whitney Houston, so higher love is my all time favorite.
A
So good.
B
So I just. For me, it's Whitney Houston all day long. I also love her song I'm every woman because I think there's a piece of us in all of us, you know, and when one of us rises, we all rise together. So for me, Whitney Houston's just my. My soundtrack to life right now.
A
I'm, like, emotional. Like, this is so powerful. I love it. And she's such an iconic. Yeah, like, artist and the definition of.
B
Strength and beauty and creativity. Yeah.
A
Great ones. Okay, we're adding those to the soundtrack. Thank you. Okay, now I want to do your intro. You are such a powerhouse leader beyond Boston. Like, just know it. Love all the amazing things you're doing, and you lead with such heart, like, genuine heart. And this is why I've always loved you love working together. I love being a bull moves girl. So, like, before we get into the details, like, how did bull moves really come about? Like, what is. Tell us about the name? Like, all the things.
B
Yeah. So bull moves really came about because I was meeting so many incredible women that were experts and so talented in the fields working in, and they were just struggling to build the structural pieces of a business that are really needed for continued success, like systems operations, pricing, marketing, sales. And that had been my entire career in the world of accounting and finance. And so I was just sort of helping people. And then I thought, you know, let me try this. Like, what is this thing called a business coach? Let me see. And I took on my first client. We got her over a million dollars in revenue, and she had more time with her daughter and her family and her relationships improved. I just was so in love. I thought, whatever this is, I want to do it for the rest of my life. If I can help women reach their potential and do what they love and make amazing money doing it and be a small part of their story. I was just so all in. And so then I got some training. I had to learn a lot of things and really hone that craft. And, yeah, we're going to be celebrating. You know, we're coming up on five years, and it's been the journey and honor of a lifetime.
A
I love this. I. I want to say it's. You're not a small part. You're a very big part of people's lives. Like I've done your things and I just can speak from experience and I just think it's such big, big transitions. Like they're not small, like they transform lives for years to come. So just, I just want to commend that because that was, it's not small, it's much bigger than that.
B
So, you know, I'm really honored. I find that women come to me when they're at an inflection point in their life and usually there's a little bit of, they feel like a little bit of tension. Like they know they have more potential in some area. Like they want more for themselves in some areas, area. And that's usually when they call me and it. To be able to come alongside them during those moments when they're creating, you know, new wealth, new level levels of, of love and relationships, when they're welcoming in new members on their team, like to be alongside them for that growth. It is, it's hard to express the love and the joy that it is, but it, it truly is an honor.
A
I just, I mean it makes impact for years to come. Like genuinely. Yeah, because they're ready to receive it. Right? So that's another question on a follow up too, like. Yeah, because I'm sure clients come across your desk that they're, they want to do it, but they're not ready to receive results. Right. Or ready to take the jump. Like, what advice do you have for them in those moments if they're not quite ready?
B
That's totally okay for me. I always want it to come at a time when I always say to people, create the compelling vision for your life and business. Start there. Like, what are you excited to create? What is it that you really, really want? Because if you don't have that, you're just going to be running around in circles. Right. So I always suggest, take some time to really think about like blank slate. Create what is it you want for your business? What do you want your impact to be? What do you want your relationships, your. How do you want to have time for your kids? What are the, you want to do for fun? Like get some clarity on that. And when you're fired up and, and you're ready, that's when, that's when it's perfect for us to work together, you.
A
Know, but you're, but I also think you get people clear on those goals too. Like, because I think about myself, I was like, I know I want more, but I need clarity, you know, So I Think you're super good at that too. So I want to commend for that.
B
I appreciate it. I love it. Because I truly believe that it's. It's all there for you. Right? It's all there for you, but it's hard to see it in ourselves. So part of my job that I love is I get to hold the mirror up. I get to be like, look how brilliant you are. Look at all of your gifts. Look at all of your talents. Look at your passion. Now let's go make a business that's wildly successful, you know, And I feel.
A
Like your clients stay on for a long time, right? Like, even if they come in and out and like, whatever, like. So on average, like, how long do clients work with you?
B
Yeah. So, you know, that's a great question. I would say they work with me for around six months to. I've had clients I've had for years. But there's this amazing community aspect to Bold Moves that once you are part of the Bold Moves crew, you are in, like you're part of. We have events and office hours and lots of ways to stay connected because we need each other. I think too, my coaching is very action and empowering oriented. I do not create dependency with my clients because I believe that every one of my clients, they're wildly capable. So some coaches create dependency. I like to create empowerment. So if people are staying on with me, it's because they want to, not because they need to. My clients are incredible. Like they are. I get like, so emotional thinking about it.
A
They are, though, like, just amazing humans. But you create the tribe, right? Like you do. You do. Yeah. And I want to commend you for that. So now I want to dive deeper because obviously there are things that, like when it comes to building a business. Right. And even just like showing up for your clients. Like, you have your own moments where you struggled and had to get there. Right. So, I mean, I know your mom's breast cancer journey, like, growing up with that. Were you young when that happened or.
B
Yeah, I was 12, 13.
A
And is she in remission now or.
B
She has been cancer free for all.
A
These years, which is amazing.
B
Amazing.
A
So advice to your younger self in this moment, like when. When she was struggling as the sister, like, or the daughter. You're. You're a sister, right? You have a brother too. I have a brother, yeah. Yes. So, like, were you.
B
What was.
A
What did you feel like in those moments and what now that you tell your clients, do you feel like you're reflecting back and being like, wow. Like, that really stems from my past.
B
You know, I saw my mom move through that challenge with tremendous strength and grace. And what I saw her do was a lesson that I take with me today. She took that challenge head on. She went. She just was determined to get through it, and she went head on with the challenge. And I think when it comes to hard things, sometimes the only way around it is through it. And I just remember her, her strength and her grace. And I think I really learned, like, when. Sometimes when challenges come, like, it takes what it takes, but you find this. You find this well of strength deep inside of you that sometimes you didn't even know was there until a challenge like that comes. And so sometimes when I'm talking to clients or in my own life, when I have a really big challenge, I remind myself to just go through the challenge like, it's gonna take what it takes, and you have what it takes. And that, I think, has been the lesson that has carried me so much. I'm so grateful for my mom to have her example of that, because you. You can get through it, and sometimes it's really hard, and. But you have what it takes.
A
And I love to see you continue to pay it forward because for all your events, you always support the charities, like, the breast cancer ones, And I just don't know if a lot of people know that. And I, like, that's why I just want to, like, commend you, because I think it's so important and really inspiring.
B
Thank you.
A
You know, no, it's true. Like, I really commend you for that because I don't think a lot of people tie that together all the time. And I just know you on a deeper level, and I just. Thank you for sharing that. Thank you. Like, I know how impactful that is.
B
Thank you.
A
Yeah. So what. In terms of. So obviously now I want to transition more as, like, you're growing up, like, past those, like, what are their challenges in terms of facing, like, I know eating disorders have come up. As somebody who struggled myself. Like, I definitely want to talk about that today, because I think a lot of women struggle with that. Your body's changed throughout your whole lives. Right. So working through, like, being so visible, what advice do you have to women and even what advice did you give yourself in those moments when you do feel those triggers come up for you?
B
Yeah. So I did have an eating disorder when I went to college. I entered college as a freshman. What I weighed when I was nine months pregnant with my. My son. So just to give you an idea. You know, my childhood was full of a lot of love, but it was also full of a lot of uncertainty because, you know, my dad had severe mental illness and my parents had gone through a really rough divorce. And so I've since learned after a lot of years of therapy that it's common for children who experience that to have an eating disorder because you're looking for a sense of control. And we, you know, we get that from that. So I went to college and I was very overweight, very self conscious, really down in self esteem. And then it reared its head in a different way in that I over exercised, didn't eat very much and, and took diet pills that I shouldn't have taken. So it was a really challenging time and it's. I consider it as part of my past, but I'm going to be honest with you, it's something that I still struggle with and it has never fully gone away. But through a lot of therapy and a lot of getting multiple different kinds of support, it's some not something that runs my life anymore and it doesn't hold me back yet. It's still pleasant, of course.
A
And thank you for sharing that because I feel the same, to be honest with you. Yeah, right. Because I mean, first of all, you get pregnant, your body changes.
B
Yeah, yeah.
A
You get your hormones in, your periods, your body changes. Like it's like, what the heck, Women can't get a break.
B
Right.
A
Really, let's call it what it is. Right?
B
Yeah. I mean it definitely came back very strong after I had my kids as well. That was another really hard, challenging time for sure. And I know it is for a lot of women. But I think having a good therapist, I really looked at it as an opportunity to learn and grow. So I can't tell you how many nutrition books I read. And you know, like right now I have a personal trainer who helps me feel strong in my body and I'm always looking to learn and grow in that area. And yet it's something I always have to have support around and I think that is not a bad thing.
A
But also I have to tell you, somebody who's been to therapist myself too, finding the right people is so important. You have to interview, like interview them, right? Yes.
B
And you have to advocate for yourself. So I recently, or a couple years ago actually now I switched to a concierge primary care because I wasn't getting the attention that I needed in the traditional system. Prioritizing your health and saying, you know what, I am worth this. I'm Going to invest in this because my health is that important to me.
A
I have to tell you, we are on the same page. Yeah.
B
I didn't see.
A
Because it's like, you don't want to sacrifice quality. Like, you can't. And it's not sad, though, that, like, your own health care can't provide the care that you need. Like, it's kind of messed up, and it's kind of. Yes. Yeah, yeah.
B
But I love my doctor now, so if anyone needs it. Yes. She's amazing.
A
Yeah, yeah, same. And I want to give a shout out to Sienna because I work with her too, so we love Sienna, our personal trainer. We love.
B
Awesome.
A
She's awesome. Yes. Okay. Thank you so much for sharing all those things. Like, this is what makes Amy, you have two beautiful boys, an amazing husband. Like, shaping into the woman you are now. Right? Because those were all parts of you, you know, like, showing up day to day. What is a day in the life for Amy? Like, you get up, like, because every day is different. You're always doing cool things. Like, tell us a typical day. Like, oh, my gosh.
B
Well, it varies, right? Like, today I'm here with you, and I get to do this awesome podcast. I'm so jazzed. Yesterday I was hosting a brunch for 50 powerhouse, amazing women. And some days I'm getting up and throwing my hair in a bun and going to the hockey rink.
A
Right?
B
And that's amazing, too. And so. But I do.
A
I.
B
A very full life. And I'm. This is the life I prayed for for years. I'm gonna. Like, this is the life that I've always wanted. Right.
A
I love.
B
I always wanted to wake up and do work that set my heart on fire. I love to work. I love my clients. I always wanted a successful marriage. I have the most amazing partner in the world. Like, my husband is incredible. I always wanted to be a mom. And I have two boys I have great relationships with that I love to pieces.
A
They're the sweetest. I know. So cute. Like.
B
So, I mean, a day in life, I try to get. I try to exercise. I try to do all the things. Like, I try to drink the water and eat. Right. I have a few things that are important to me. I love dinner time. I love picking my kids up from school. Those moments are super important to me, and I take my fun very seriously.
A
Yes, you do.
We're not even. We know that. We already know that because you are so much fun. So, like, when you go and you go all in, like, no question. I know that already, like, love that.
B
Experiences.
A
And you do, too.
B
I feel like you. I love to travel. I love lifestyle. I love Lux.
A
You know, I'm with you. I love that so much. Okay, I want to play. Game time. Oh, my gosh.
B
Okay.
A
Okay. So fun. Okay, so we're gonna do this or that? Oh, boy. Okay, I want to remember my question. So I do have a. Okay. Coffee or tea? Coffee. Are you an early morning or late night? Early morning. Power heels or barefoot grounding?
B
Ooh, this one's hard. Because I like them both. I just got into grounding this summer. I'm gonna go grounding. I love this.
A
Yeah, I love it.
B
Yeah.
A
Like, it's so good. I don't know what I'm gonna do.
B
Because the cold weather is coming.
A
Yeah, I know. I know. You figure it out. I know. Because the snow, it gets a little cold.
B
Like, I need one of those grounding blankets. Yeah. You seen those?
A
Oh, my God, yes. I want one. We'll have to make an investment. Okay. Strategy or intuition?
B
Oh, another hard one. So I really believe you need both. I know you need both, but I'm gonna say intuition, and here's why. Most women focus so much on the strategy, and they discount their intuition. But as feminine leaders, we have so much knowledge, and it's the whispers of life that often deliver the most wisdom. I love that.
A
That things we kind of, like, push to the side like that. I feel like the louder they get, they're like, you need to pay attention now. Yay. Totally. Yeah, I can relate.
B
Like, we know. We know we have an inner knowing, and I think the more that we can trust that then we can align the right strategy. Intuition first, then strategy. Okay.
A
I love that. Thank you. Brilliant. Private reflection or public motivation?
B
Private reflection. I love that.
A
Love that. Thank you for that. So good. Okay. Rapid fire word that describes your current season.
B
Vulnerability.
A
Perfect. Favorite mantra. When imposter syndrome hits, you have what it takes. Ooh, good. One dream person to collaborate with, huh?
B
I have so many perfect.
A
Well, to name, like, top three, top of mind.
B
I would love Emma Grady.
A
Love it. Love it.
B
That would be amazing.
A
Agreed. Do you watch Shark Tank? I love when she's.
B
I love Shark Tank.
A
Yes. I want to host a Shark Tank. Yes. Amy, let's support this.
B
I love it.
A
Perfect. Okay. She has a great one. Okay. One bold move you are most proud of to this day.
B
There's so many. I think the one I'm most proud of was walking away from being a cpa, an accountant, and building my dreams, because that was really hard. And it made all the difference in my whole life. It changed everything.
A
Thank you. I love that. Okay, next on scene for me is finish the sentence.
B
My book coming out.
A
Yes. Yes. We are so excited. So excited. We already know. I love this so much. Okay, so looking back to now, if you want, how would you want people to remember Amy Possert?
B
Oh, Jackie. Oh, my gosh. I think I just would like them to remember me. That like I was always in their corner.
A
I think that's so true. Like biggest cheerleader. Yeah.
B
Yeah. Like, I just hope that I'm able to help as many people as possible fulfill their God given purpose and potential. And if I can do that, then that's. That's all. That's everything, you know?
A
Okay. And I want to close out talking to your younger self from today. What do you want to say to her? You made it.
B
Yeah.
A
You did, girl. I'm really proud of you. You thank you like for your honesty, for such being such an amazing leader and inspiring and I just. You're just amazing, Amy. Thank you for all you do.
