Ally
Yeah.
Sid
Wait. Now that you said that, I just realized that, like, my friends who I don't know from soccer.
Ally
I've never seen your boob.
Sid
We. We have had no reason to see each other naked. I've never really thought about that.
Olivia Mar
Have a couple of these and get to know each other.
Sid
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
It's an important thing which friends are judgmental. Which. Which ones.
Sid
Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
Olivia Mar
So I've had ones of those.
Sid
My amazing friends listening to this who.
Olivia Mar
Get ready to show your nips. Yeah.
Sid
Hello.
Olivia Mar
What?
Ally
Welcome to another episode of BFFR with Ally and me.
Sid
Sid, make sure you're following the show. BFFR show on all of the socials, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube, TikTok. You'll find us rate and review, do the things.
Ally
Five stars. Five stars.
Sid
We are so excited because this is a good one. We have an amazing guest and she's here in person. So, like, we're getting straight into it. You might know her as the creator behind Girl Dinner or one third of the hilarious trio House of Mar. But she is our lovely, gorgeous style, stunning, hilarious guest Olivia Mar. Welcome to the show, you guys.
Olivia Mar
Thank you. I loved that.
Sid
I love your shirt.
Olivia Mar
Hi. Thank you so much. I wore it because of you guys.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Well, little martinis.
Sid
Hello. Extra dirty.
Olivia Mar
That's. This one says extra dirty.
Sid
Like all of us, you know exactly what to. What to wear. We're also, like.
Olivia Mar
We have.
Sid
We went straight into happy hour.
Olivia Mar
Sorry. Not sorry. Amazing.
Ally
I had to make another batch.
Olivia Mar
True.
Ally
Yeah.
Sid
I've was a little. Little thirsty.
Olivia Mar
It's a watermelon martini.
Sid
You made it in what jar this time, Sid?
Olivia Mar
D d know what kind.
Ally
Hydrating watermelon juice, which is turkey lasagna soup.
Sid
Yeah, I don't. I don't always like knowing what was in that vessel before our drink, but thank you, Sid. Cheers. Cheers. Cheers.
Olivia Mar
Thank you so much for having me.
Sid
Actually, we. We kind of just saw you at the ESPYs.
Olivia Mar
Yes. That was fun.
Sid
How was your morning night at the ESPYs?
Olivia Mar
I had the best time. I had the best time. I mean, it was a bit stressful because Alona flew in, like, that morning. She flew overnight. She's been in, you know, world. You know, rugby World cup camp over on the east coast. So we had to fly her in for this because it was the ESPYs. Like, she's been nominated. Rugby has never been nominated before.
Ally
We.
Olivia Mar
We needed to make this happen. It was funny. It was actually our dad that was the one that was like, oh, you need to be there because she's obviously in, like, rugby competition mode, you know, preparing for the world stage in this way. But my dad was like, you need to be there. A lot of people care a lot about the sbs. It's like, it's a big deal. She was like, okay. Flew her in. So it was basically the logistics of Alona's getting in. I was managing all of, like, the clothing from her stylist that was getting shipped in and jewelry and everything. I was even, like, other options were being sent in, and I was, like, trying them on for her and sending her videos. But we have very different, like, yeah. Rack sizes, and so she said she.
Ally
Was gonna wear my dress.
Olivia Mar
Yes. So she had literally the dress that you. That was, like, one of her other. Other.
Ally
No one saw the dress. I'm gonna wear it next year. Oh, perfect.
Olivia Mar
Perfect. And she will, too. There you go. So it was fun. I was so proud of her. I was. It was almost the same thing at, like, the Olympics when she won bronze. I was like. My body was, like, moving. Like, I was crying, but no tears were coming out. I was just so proud of her. I just. No one more deserving, really.
Sid
Did you have an inkling? Like, did you have a good feeling? I had a good feeling.
Olivia Mar
I mean, like, I hope so. Did you have a good feeling? I hope to, but when. When the first couple awards were given out and the first. The winner had their acceptance speech on the teleprompter, I was like, yeah. Oh, no, she didn't. We didn't. Does that mean she didn't win? Like, that's in my brain. Like, oh, they didn't tell her ahead of time. They didn't. She didn't get to give her a script. That means she didn't win. But I was like, no, no. We're holding on to hope. Like, it's all good.
Ally
Well, she can do it.
Olivia Mar
She did it.
Ally
She can do it.
Sid
I was wondering about the telepr, because I, too, was like, okay, so if you're nominated, you, like, is that getting a little ahead of yourself, or is that just being prepared?
Olivia Mar
No, you know, exactly. Because you want to jinx it. Right. But better to be prepared.
Sid
Yeah, but you could tell when they were reading it.
Ally
Tell the person or the, like, team.
Olivia Mar
Yeah. That you won.
Ally
Yeah, not us.
Sid
But they must. Yeah. Because I. Yeah, I asked Rhianne as well, and she said no. We had no idea.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
I wish a bit of it now, but it was more fun in that moment. Yield that exhilaration. So in our fun little moment when her name was called. And we stood up and we were like, oh. In my head, I was like, oh, we should hug. I'm like, I don't want to. I don't want to miss anything up on this outfit. We don't need any slippage anyway. A little too. I'm gonna give her a cute little iconic, like, fit check. Give her her handwritten speech and she can get up there. So it was great.
Ally
So sweet.
Olivia Mar
It was fab. And then we after partied it all together.
Sid
I know, I know. Oh, that was.
Ally
The food was unreal.
Sid
Yeah, we loved the food.
Olivia Mar
Sid really like the food.
Ally
That's why I took no pictures. I was eating every single cuisine.
Olivia Mar
It was like all, like, international cuisine.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Like different stations of it.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Alona had to leave after, like, 35 minutes there. So we, like, we're just doing a lot.
Sid
She's working the room.
Olivia Mar
And then she had to leave that night again. So we saw you guys, hung with you was like, let her do her thing.
Sid
So is it true that she wasn't originally going to present?
Olivia Mar
That's not. Yeah, that's true. She wasn't supposed to present, but she did, I think, such a great job with her acceptance speech off the cuff with what she had, you know, her little handwritten thing that the person that was supposed to present that award was stuck in traffic or something.
Sid
Like, la, la.
Olivia Mar
That's the most LA thing I've seen. But, like, leave it to a woman to step up and step in. And I think they just saw how great she was and natural. And she was great on TV with Dancing the stars and everything. Like, she's a performer, she's an entertainer. And they gave her. They. I think they changed the script really fast. They had it printed out. They showed her what the teleprompter would look like. They were like, stage left, enter here, step over there. And she was like, okay. And she great. She did great.
Ally
Yeah, she did. Yeah, she was great.
Sid
Well, you are all great at being on tv, being in front of the camera, off the cuff, everything you're doing. We'll get into girl dinner a little bit later, but tell us about House of Mar. I mean, you're killing it.
Olivia Mar
I was so excited to come here too, because it's the first time I've been in person for a podcast. I've done a couple of other, like, virtual podcasts.
Ally
It's not the same Talk Girl.
Olivia Mar
It's not the same.
Sid
No, this is way more fun.
Olivia Mar
Way more fun. And like, having done our own and having Done. You know, having in person guests in the studio. The energy is so exciting. And I just, like, know that we all vibe. So I was like, I just sit on the cute chairs and like, drink our drinks. But yes, House of Mar is the podcast I have with my sisters. Our last name famously is Mar. Rhymes with star. People love saying Mayor Meer. None of those.
Sid
It's more my hair.
Olivia Mar
My hair. I got a mohair one time and.
Ally
I was like, let's mo hair.
Olivia Mar
We're going to also talk about that.
Sid
About hair. Hair down there. We'll talk about that later.
Olivia Mar
Yes, we are.
Ally
We are.
Olivia Mar
Perfect. My favorite topic. Are we showing bush?
Ally
Yeah. Well, that's what we're. That's what we're gonna figure out to the next level.
Sid
Bffr.
Olivia Mar
Yeah, that's what it stands for. Bushes Forever. For real?
Ally
Bushes for real.
Olivia Mar
Bushes for real. No, it's a. My two sisters and I, alone, and Adriana. I'm the oldest. Alona, rugby player, Olympian icon, middle child, and Adriana, humanitarian, nonprofit, social justice girly, the youngest. And we just get on there and we yap about women's things, talk about women's sports, we talk about bushes, we talk about what's going on and all the best things.
Sid
The best thing, sports and bushes.
Olivia Mar
It's serious. And we find ourselves accidentally being inspirational, but also, like, so funny and just having a good time in the way that only sisters can really, like, play off of one another. And I don't know, it's just like, it's so fun. And I'm glad that we've brought it to, like, a greater audience. And all these other girls get to feel like they're a part of and women and people. Anybody can, like, this podcast can feel a part of the family and just giggle with us for a while.
Ally
Who was the one who. Who was like, we need to start this?
Olivia Mar
Actually, the opportunity came to alone. I like, She's. She got a lot of offers over the years to, like, do podcasts and then. But she's not. She's not never very much so been of that mindset. She just likes doing what she does. She'll pop onto a podcast here or there, she'll do interviews. But it wasn't until the idea came that was like, okay. And if your sisters were involved, she was like, okay, now we're talking. Because she knows that she can still be her. Be alone, Amar, be the athlete. And this gets to be a fun side quest that she gets to pop into and be a part of and still be building kind of who she is in her portfolio. So.
Sid
So is it basically just your group chat out loud?
Olivia Mar
Yeah, honestly, sometimes it is.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
And I bet we take notes now because I never wanted it to be the kind of thing where it's like, oh, well, I can't tell you because I'll save it for the podcast, even though it is so raw and, like, good. We are sisters. Like, I know them better than anyone. They know me better than anyone. So we do talk a lot. But it has been fun to kind of dig deeper into topics together with an audience, for sure.
Sid
Yeah.
Ally
Who's the most unhinged on the mic?
Sid
Yeah. Who's the Sid and who's the Ally?
Olivia Mar
Interesting, Interesting, interesting question. I want to say. I want to say it's me because I just will say very out of pocket things because I know it'll, like, get a giggle. And I love the dazzle. Dazzle. I love being a people pleaser. Whereas, like, Alona, she's so thoughtful. She's so careful with what she, like, said. Not careful, but she is so smart. She gets it. Like, she. She loves playing devil's advocate too. I've noticed. The most.
Sid
Sid's least favorite.
Olivia Mar
Oh, I just saw you guys are talking about this devil's advocate. I see how it works in your trio, though.
Ally
Yes.
Olivia Mar
Right.
Ally
Yeah, you need one.
Olivia Mar
You need one. I don't think she would call it being a devil's advocate, but, like, she loves being like. I don't know if that is the case because. But then. And then she'll back up with this, like, deep rooted facts and opinion where you're like, well, slap my ass. Yeah, that's. That's.
Sid
So take it back.
Olivia Mar
I never thought about it that way, but. So, yeah, I wouldn't call it devil's advocate. And then Adriana is one of the funniest people, if not like, the funniest person I know, but she's a little bit more quiet.
Sid
Yeah, but she's. She's very open.
Olivia Mar
She's very open. And now the further we've been going, the more we've been doing the podcast, the more she's opening up and the people are actually seeing how funny she is. And I just. I love it.
Ally
You get more comfortable as the episodes go on.
Olivia Mar
You really do.
Ally
Were you guys, like, day one? We had a lot to learn.
Sid
Yeah. Yeah. I think we. We were comfortable when we would do happy hour and could kind of be vibing and talk about things that had happened, but being here sitting, trying to keep the conversation going and trying to Be somewhat organized. That was different because we were used to just telling each other stories and just kind of going on and on and on. But we have to actually, you know, be a little tighter.
Ally
We can talk forever.
Olivia Mar
So it's like, yeah, do you guys hold anything back on air?
Sid
So I was like, yeah.
Olivia Mar
I'll let.
Sid
Sid answer that from her perspective. I was just gonna ask you, like, how are you ever afraid of being honest about certain topics? Like, are you ever afraid that that might either like kind of open Pandora's box or like get. Get criticism or just people are like, okay, that was too like tmi.
Olivia Mar
I don't know for sure. But also we come from a family where like, TMI doesn't really exist. We love knowing everything. Like, we talked about it on the show. We grew up with a naked mom. You know, we're very open.
Sid
Yeah, we talked about that.
Olivia Mar
Naked parents. Naked parents. Parents. Naked parents. Naked parents.
Ally
And now I'm a naked mom.
Olivia Mar
Naked kids.
Ally
I'm sorry, why are you coming into my space? Exactly. Leave me alone.
Olivia Mar
Exactly. But that's also, I think so good for them mentally growing up. They know what a woman's body looks like in. In all of its state. I just. So yes, we're very open. No, not too much. Is nothing. Is too, too tmi. But definitely like worries about being like, I am trying to date again, but I'm like, I want to share with. With. With our, you know, our audience what I'm doing, but I also don't want to be that girl that all of a sudden, you know, oh, if you're going on a date with that person, you're going to hear about it on her.
Sid
Exactly.
Ally
I never even thought of that.
Olivia Mar
Right.
Sid
Do you share everything said anyways, Slow sips. Who's the least tech savvy out of the three of you?
Olivia Mar
Ilona, surprisingly. Being the social media mogul that she. She's gotten better. She will figure it out. But also, yeah, she's sometimes the connecting pieces to. When it comes to technology. She refuses to think through. She just like won't do it. Whereas Audran and I can figure it out. And when it kind of. When I sort of really took over as being cystoger like Alonis manager in that way. Yeah. Acting as her. It's because we. I'd established this business, you know, email for her that would like reach her team if it was just me at the time or if it grew and she would be in there messaging, emailing brands back being like, yeah, tomorrow works. TTYL and I'D be like, I'm like, you get out of there. You know, you're not allowed to send emails anymore. And it's me being like, hello, hope you had a wonderful weekend. Like, how do. What. What is your availability between. You know, so that's definitely Alona. That's the least technologically advanced. Okay.
Sid
I wouldn't have expected that.
Ally
Have you, all three of you always been this close? Or was it different when you were growing up together alone?
Olivia Mar
And I have always been close because we're close in age. We are two years apart, age wise. But then we were only one grade apart because she's an August baby, I'm a September baby, so she made the cutoff and I missed it or something. Whatever.
Sid
Wow, you were really close.
Olivia Mar
Yeah, exactly. So she was always young for her grade, I was always old for my grade. But that meant we played the same sports, we were on the same sports teams, we were teammates our whole life. We had, you know, similar people and friend groups. Uh, so we were always very close, which was then kind of sad for Adriana, who was then two and a half years behind Ilona.
Ally
Right.
Olivia Mar
So then four and a half behind me, which, when you're growing up, that is a very large gap. It feels very large chasm also, because Adriana and I are very, very similar. And people say you fight more when that's the case, you know, because they are a mirror to your own flaws. I've never said it like that before. That was deeply beautiful.
Sid
So poetic.
Olivia Mar
It was, love you, Dre. So her and I did fight a lot growing up. Like, we were at each other's throats, which I hate now to remember how much we fought. There were also beautiful moments. There's, like, beautiful photos of us just being, like, super cute and cuddly. But that's my dog. Like, that's my homegirl. That is my sweet chicken, whatever the terms are. Like, Adriana and I, because we're now so similar as adults and as people who, like, know how to better respect someone or appreciate them for their differences and their similarities. We get along so well. So always close. Like, our family is so big on connection conversation. We sat down at the dinner table every single night growing up. Like, yeah, it was our thing. It was like parents were like, mom maybe worked a 12 hour shift to the hospital, and dad, you know, worked his desk job all day. Somebody was making dinner and we were sitting down and talking about everything. So because of that, we forged, I think, incredible foundations in our relationship as siblings.
Ally
I love that this episode Is brought to you by PNC Bank.
Sid
A lot of people think that a podcast where soccer players talk about their daily life would be boring.
Ally
And yeah, some of the grind can be boring, but it is our daily rituals and our preparation and doing it together that makes the wins even bigger.
Sid
It's like banking with PNC Bank. It might seem boring to plan, save and make calculated decisions with your bank. Keeping your money boring is what helps you live a more happily fulfilled life.
Ally
PNC bank brilliantly boring since 1865 brilliantly.
Sid
Boring since 1865 is a service mark of the PNC Financial Services Group incorporated PNC Bank National association member FDIC all.
Ally
Right, before we get into the rest of the show, we need to talk about cachava real quick.
Sid
Oh my gosh. You know those players who like play for 90 minutes full sprint, tackling everybody and then after the game still somehow still have energy. And I don't mean the teenagers. I want what they're having.
Ally
It's not just vibes and talent, it's nutrition. You can't just live off coffee and chaos. Come on.
Sid
Trust me, I've tried. But Kachava is a legit game changer. It's giving full body meal shake and it's 25 grams of plant based protein, but without the chalky aftertaste.
Ally
I hate the chalky so bad. I'm on the matcha kick right now. Frozen banana, a little. A little almond milk. 30 seconds, you're good to go. You know I don't have that kind of time.
Sid
I know you don't, Sid.
Ally
If you're trying to eat better, feel better and not crash by noon, try one.
Sid
Fuel your game with Kachava. Go to kachava.com and use code BFFR for 15 off your next order.
Ally
That's K-A C-H-A-V A.com and use code BFFRF for 15 off.
Sid
As a sister. Well, I met you at dancing with the Stars.
Olivia Mar
That was so fun.
Sid
Followed you, obviously. Before that you're at the Olympics and now I see you all over the place on social media going to all these cool things. Oh my gosh, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit. You were out there just doing bits, having fun. Have you had any BFF BFFR moments as a sister?
Olivia Mar
O like about alone or just people in general?
Sid
In general, people things.
Olivia Mar
Oh, my gosh, that's a good question. I don't know why, but my brain is gravitating to how people deal with like, levels of celebrity or don't deal with it. Well, like when they do encounter her, because she feels like everyone's best friend. Like, they know her from what she shares. Like, that's their close friend.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
So when they see her in public, it's like an automatic, like, hug, a grab or whatever. Whereas I'm like, hey, yeah, that's a stranger technically. Like, don't just, like, grab her. But we love the love. Like, it's hard to feel, like, judgmental of that because we appreciate that, you know, how much they love her and feel connected to her and whatnot. And they are the reason she's also, you know, where she is today from their love. So that's probably one where I'm like, hey, guys, hold on. Touch the little grass. Please don't just, like, touch her. You know, especially, like, safety wise. That's a big right.
Sid
Oh, my gosh.
Ally
Well, she could take them down.
Olivia Mar
No, exactly.
Ally
You don't have anything to worry about. Or I'll do it. Exactly. There you go. Period. Oh, my gosh.
Sid
Okay, well, so you're heading out. You're heading out to England. Oh, yeah. What are the plans?
Olivia Mar
Rugby World cup kicks off in August. The whole fam and I are going over. Ilona will be there already, obviously, training, playing, and then Adriana, mom, dad and I will get over there a couple of days before their first match, which is against England and which is a serious lineup. Like, it'll be a very exciting game, obviously, home country. Like a home World Cup.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Against the usa. And I'm excited because we lived in England for the first three months of the year. We were in Bristol while Alona played there.
Ally
Oh, okay.
Olivia Mar
And many of the girls on that team are red roses. They play for England, and they are some of the most fantastic women I've ever met. They are so fabulous. Like, I forged some incredible friendships, so I'm just excited. I know they're gonna be going, like, head to head as, like, enemies this time, but I'm gonna be like, hi, guys, can we grab tea or whatever? Like, for sure the tea.
Ally
For sure, the tea.
Olivia Mar
I'm excited. So the USA gets. They have the three pool play games. I believe we play England, Samoa, and I want to say Australia. Don't quote me on that. Please bleep my. And let's. I'll dub it over if that was wrong. Thank you. Okay.
Ally
What's it like traveling with your family and going to see her play?
Olivia Mar
It's the best. Call it rugby tourism. Like, I've been so many places to watch her play because the seventh circuit is so exciting. Because sevens wrote this. Rugby 15s. There's rugby sevens. I explain this a lot on. On the House of Mar podcast as well, because a lot of our listeners love Alona for the reason they love Alona. Maybe not so much just for rugby, because it's, you know, such a unknown Sport in the USA, but it's rising. So Rugby 15s is the traditional form of rugby that you see when you think of rugby, like what your college.
Sid
Think of the All Blacks.
Olivia Mar
You think of the all blacks? Exactly. 15 people versus 15 people, like, you know, on a full field for an 80 minute game. And then Sevens is the same size field, but only seven people versus seven people. So there's way more room to move. It is like running.
Ally
We love space. Love so much running.
Olivia Mar
You guys get it. You guys know how to see space. So that's. And then it's only a 14 minute game. 7 minute and a half.
Sid
So it is so exciting.
Olivia Mar
It is so fun. You went to LA Sevens, right?
Sid
Oh, my gosh. It was unreal. Did you love unreal? And because the games are so short, you can see so, so many matches. And I'm just. I'm a die hard fan, but I'm. I'm like, got to get back into 15s mode because.
Olivia Mar
And you were in the locker room with the Ferns, weren't you?
Sid
I was, yeah.
Olivia Mar
That was cool.
Sid
They're. I mean, they were the champions. They're so inspirational. And I had seen them win in. In Paris, so I was just. Yeah, they give me chills.
Olivia Mar
Chills all the time.
Sid
But I have a soft spot for the US Team. Met a bunch of the girls at the girl dinner.
Olivia Mar
Oh, yes, the girl dinner event. Which you didn't come to.
Sid
Which Sid forgot about.
Olivia Mar
I.
Ally
First of all, Ali texts me and she's like, hey, do you have any nice pajamas? And I'm like, not really. Like, aside from our favorite.
Olivia Mar
Yeah, Target.
Sid
Yeah, yeah.
Ally
Can't say Target.
Sid
Okay. We got target pajamas 10 years ago.
Ally
Yeah, yeah, relax. And I was like, no. And then all of a sudden I see these photos and I was like, oh, that was the thing.
Sid
That was.
Ally
And then I was like, why didn't you tell me?
Sid
Yeah, it was my fault.
Olivia Mar
Classic terrible friend.
Sid
I didn't want to share my charcuterie board.
Olivia Mar
Yeah, sure.
Ally
Gucci.
Olivia Mar
Oh, yeah, she took one of the. Okay, so we threw a girl dinner. Yeah, let's get into girl dinner party. It was like, alone, like, hosted by Alona, curated by me. And we had these little platters around with different charcuterie and stuff that were, like, meant to be shared. And I, like, turned around at one point and you had your. Like, you were. You had it in your lap. In your lap and snacking. And I think somebody was like, hey, that's for everybody. And I was like, let her do it. That's a girl dinner. A girl dinner is whatever you want. And that's what she wants.
Sid
I had training the next day.
Ally
You needed the cheese.
Olivia Mar
I love cheese.
Ally
Protein cheese.
Sid
You love the cheese.
Olivia Mar
Okay.
Sid
For anyone living under a rock, explain girl dinner.
Olivia Mar
There's nothing more humbling, though, when somebody's like, what do you do? Like, what do you like? Things. And, like, a lot of people know what girl dinner is. Most women do. But when you do go, have you heard a girl dinner? And they're like, no. And you're like, like, yeah, you're not.
Ally
Going to find it. This.
Olivia Mar
Where do I go from here? Girl dinner is the coin that I termed. And it's now in a couple of dictionaries, which makes me. I learned. Oh, no, I'm going to say this wrong, but a neologist, or a neologist, which is a person that creates words or phrases. So I did add, that's my dating bios.
Sid
Oh, amazing.
Ally
I love that.
Olivia Mar
Gotta show these hoes I'm smarter than them. But I coined it. In 2023, I had just basically, unfortunately lost my job in Hollywood because I worked, you know, TV and film. I worked with a fantastic showrunner and I, you know, developed, like, was assisting her. But the writer strikes happened and everything shut down. And so I was just sort of, like, doing my thing. I'd already posted on social media. I did a bunch of my travel content, and it was very, like, edited and buttoned up because I liked it to be clean and aesthetic. And I thought that that's what people liked. But I was on a hot girl walk with a friend.
Ally
Yeah, I heard about those. Yeah.
Olivia Mar
You've heard of these?
Ally
Yes. Never been on one, but no, I.
Sid
Want to go one day. I hope to be on a hot girl one day.
Olivia Mar
One day it'll be ready for you guys. Yeah, even.
Ally
And Stanley, though.
Olivia Mar
Oh, no, of course, of course. The ice, like, tingling around in there. And my friend was like, we're talking about, like, what we're going to, like, have for dinner. And her boyfriend was making steak or something and she's like, I don't know. We're having, like, steak and like, I love steak. I just don't really want steak tonight.
Ally
And I was like, I hear you, girl.
Olivia Mar
Not me. Having a girl dinner. And she was like, what? I was like, right, that's a made up term that I use in my own head and in my own house. Like, that's what I. My boyfriend at the time was a. Would love going to the gym and he would get out of the gym and be like, oh, hey, did you already eat or did you do a girl dinner? Because it's something that we like. I would say, so he adopted. And I'm like, oh, my girl dinner. And she was like, oh, what? And I was like, right, sorry, that's just in my own brain. It's what I call when I just sort of pick through my fridge in my cabinet, eating bits and bobs of whatever I'm feeling. Like that it basically equates to an entire meal by the end of it. She was like, oh, I do that.
Ally
Yeah. It's like, yeah, I think every girl.
Olivia Mar
I think everybody probably does that or some version of it. So the next time I was doing it, it was like salami. I had leftover. I had some grapes. I had some leftover wine from like my friends being over. I had like this, that and the other thing. Pickles. I always have Cornish owns in my fridge. I love those tiny pickles. I love a Cornish home. And I had it all spread out. I eat it at my counter. Like my hair was a mess. Pretty sure. Like no bra on. Just like titties swinging in the wild, doing my swing. The cornishons and the corny sh. That's hilarious. Titty sweating, swinging on the Cornish shirt's going to say I'm like, I need actually. Yeah, I should launch more merch.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
I brought my phone out and I just recorded. I was like, I just seen a girl on Tik Tok talk about she loves eating like a medieval peasant. So like cheese and bread, right? And I was like, I saw somebody talking about medieval peasant, like eating. But I eat like this. I call it a girl dinner. This is my meal. And I showed what I had. And I almost didn't post it because I looked a mess. I. It wasn't edited, it was grainy. It was just like it was dark in my kitchen a little bit, you know, it was like the yellow lighting of the big light, God forbid. And I almost didn't post it because it didn't look esthetic and edited and cute. But alone. I was ringing in my head because Alona is always like, just post it, post it. If your friends the lona and you post something on your story. So it's going to expire within 24 hours. She. She's in your DMs. She is in your walls, and she's going post this to a reel. Like, just post it. Just say it. Like, it's. You never know what's gonna happen. You can't always be edited. Button up. People don't want that. People want you to be authentic. They want to get to know you.
Sid
And I.
Olivia Mar
She was playing in my head, and I just posted it, and it went stupid dummy viral, which was always the hope, Right? Especially to, like, put yourself out there more vulnerably. And people were like, I love this. I call this my, like, French peasant meal. I call this my rat girl meal. I do this. But let's all call it girl dinner. And the video did well. And I was like, oh, fun. Everybody's getting behind it. And then I went traveling because I was now jobless, and I was, I think, in the Netherlands visiting family. And, like, a second or third cousin of mine was like, hey, something's really happening here. And I was like, oh, I know. My video did so well. And she was like, no, no, no, it's bigger now. She was like, the people are reporting on it. Like, the girls are fighting. There's controversy. And I was like, what? Like, I was so excited. And when I got back, I was being reached out to by, like, Business Insider and the New York Times. I went on the Today show for was very exciting. So that's. That's the legend of girl dinner.
Ally
Yeah. I think post the.
Olivia Mar
Post the. Post. And eat the snacks and the cornishons with your titty swinging.
Ally
Yes. I think the most famous girl dinner is what, the Caesar salad with the fries. Yes.
Olivia Mar
That's like, the restaurant equivalent of it. You know, like, if you're at a restaurant, that's what you can do as bits or box.
Sid
So, yeah, we had a version of that.
Olivia Mar
We did. We did curated that because we were. It was. I was curating it from a hotel's menu.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
And I was like, you guys got. You guys got pickles? An array of pickles. You got olives. What can we do here? So, yeah, there was french fries and.
Ally
Yes.
Olivia Mar
What are your guys's girl dinners? What's always in your fridge? What's always, like, ready to be snacked?
Sid
I also love pickles.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Sid
I don't have the cornishons, but some version of pickles I just spilled all over myself.
Ally
It's okay. That means it's good.
Sid
Yeah. There's more where that came from.
Olivia Mar
I'm gonna put this down.
Sid
I'M obviously cereal.
Ally
I love cereal.
Olivia Mar
Dry or with milk?
Ally
With milk.
Sid
With milk, yes. I'll do a little bit of leftovers, a little bit of popcorn. I have to admit, after Sid introduced me, I love the Erewhon popcorn.
Olivia Mar
The spiral.
Ally
So good. And now they have a jalapeno, and it's so good.
Sid
Yeah. So I'll. I'll be like, well, that's my carb I got the popcorn in, so I need a little yogurt with my protein.
Olivia Mar
Right. And my pickles.
Ally
And your pickles.
Olivia Mar
And that's a full meal.
Ally
Yeah. Mine is usually, like, something I've tried to cook for the kids that they hate. And then I'm like, okay, well, that's girl.
Olivia Mar
Mom.
Ally
Mom.
Olivia Mar
Girl dinner. The mom community online was like, girl dinner. What? This is just mom dinner. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, guys, just eat the scraps. Semantics. Like, it's still all girl dinner.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Okay.
Sid
But we have a question.
Olivia Mar
Hit me.
Ally
Yes, we do.
Sid
What do you think is the men's equivalent of girl dinner?
Olivia Mar
Yes. Yes. This is the thing. Everyone, like, once girl dinner popped off, everyone was like, what about boy dinner? Boy dinner this, boy dinner that.
Sid
Like, steak.
Ally
Just a piece of meat. Chicken.
Olivia Mar
It's like chicken and like, a gallon of chocolate milk. Like, yeah, that kind of stuff.
Sid
Celsius.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
And a, like, pack of cigarettes. I don't know. Like, what. What do men eat? I've not been around one a long time, so. But that's what's funny about it. Is that, like, a girl dinner. Like, I think girl dinner. Boy dinner. There's such a fine line because somebody's like, whole rotisserie chicken. That's boy dinner. And I'm like, yes, if it's just a rotisserie chicken, but if you paired that with, like, a glass of wine, that's girl agree. For sure. You know what I mean? For sure.
Ally
Or if the rotisserie has been picked apart already, it's a girl dinner.
Sid
Or if it's left out everywhere and all the cupboards are open. Boy dinner.
Olivia Mar
Boy dinner. That's true.
Sid
Crumbs everywhere. Boy dinner.
Olivia Mar
I eat with my cabinets open, but when I am done, I do. You do. Close, please. I'm actively picking. There's stuff to be eaten in there, you know? But that was what was interesting when, like, there was a bit of, like, controversy around girl dinner. I thought that it was gonna be around, like, oh, are we gendering meals now? And I'm like, that's not what's up.
Ally
Oh, boy.
Olivia Mar
I'm sitting. No, I'm like. I'm like, no, anybody can enjoy a girl dinner. That's why I was like. When boy dinner happened, I was like, boys can eat girl dinner. Like, yeah, you just need to tap into a more feminine side of yourself and then enjoy girl day. Couple grades. Yeah, well, grades.
Sid
Hey, that's how you. You knew you made it once the. Once the.
Ally
Once everyone gets started.
Olivia Mar
Yeah, you did it. I knew it. And I was like. And that's. That's the way of anything on the Internet, right?
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
And then the other controversy was that people were saying it promoted restrictive eating or, like, disordered eating. And I'm like, no, no, no. You guys. Like, yeah, that's not the point. You are fulfilling yourself. You are. You are feeding and fueling yourself with whatever your body is telling you need not what society is telling you you need. Like, you can go online and be like, e this to look a certain way. No, no. You're listening to exactly what your body wants, and you're eating exactly how much. It's intuitive eating, you know, to a point.
Ally
So you see it, you want it.
Olivia Mar
You eat it, you eat it, and then you're full and you're good. You're not overeating. You're not, like, doing. You're not doing anything other than, like, having community with your own body. And I think that's beautiful, if I do say so myself.
Sid
Oh, wow.
Olivia Mar
You don't. You don't.
Ally
Another poetic.
Olivia Mar
So.
Sid
You're so poetic, my corny chone. But you don't. You don't need to. You don't need to justify it to us. We're doing it quite frequently.
Ally
Yeah.
Sid
I mean, we're to happen on the soccer field kind of soon.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Sid
Okay, so you mentioned a couple times, like, there isn't a man in your life right now. Have you been dating in la?
Olivia Mar
Have you tried.
Ally
What's it like dating in la?
Olivia Mar
I'm imagining you guys have a high male viewership. Right. Just kidding.
Sid
We will now.
Ally
We will now.
Olivia Mar
Anybody listening and watching? I'm just kidding. Same thing. We are.
Sid
No, we're not. We're not kidding.
Olivia Mar
We're not listeners and followers and obviously we love. That's our community. But if there's just, you know, when I'm like, I'm single. You're, like, shouting into the void of like, of women that are watching.
Ally
No, there's a couple men in there.
Olivia Mar
And I know it.
Sid
The mom. The mom's out there listening.
Olivia Mar
That's true.
Sid
Some, you know, their sons that are.
Olivia Mar
65 and have a good job in their own place. Okay. Are those your.
Sid
Are those your only requirements?
Ally
Yeah. We need dating. Red flags or green?
Sid
Okay, okay, let's. Yeah, let's do that first.
Olivia Mar
Let's do that first.
Ally
Okay.
Olivia Mar
Love.
Ally
Okay. No social media. Love.
Sid
Right.
Olivia Mar
Green flag. Green flag.
Sid
That's a man.
Olivia Mar
Why are you, as a man posting.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
On Instagram.
Ally
Selfies.
Olivia Mar
Selfies. No, exactly.
Sid
Or like what he looks even if you don't post. What are you looking at?
Ally
Exactly.
Olivia Mar
Right.
Sid
What are you looking at? What are you liking?
Ally
Right.
Olivia Mar
Talk about this quote all the time. I saw a tweet or somebody else's video one time that was like our ancestors saw one to two baddies in their life. Now you see several hundred within like. Like 20 minutes. You know what I mean? So. Yeah. What are you looking at? Interested in? But then again, it is tricky when I am very online. Like a lot of brain rot here. That is so a part of my personality and who I am. And being around somebody who doesn't get that can be tricky as well.
Sid
Yeah, that's a fair point.
Ally
That's true. You know, that's true.
Olivia Mar
That's a fair. But I think green flag.
Ally
Okay. Oh, yeah, we. We agree.
Sid
Okay. Let's say six, five, has a job, lives with his parents.
Olivia Mar
Honestly, in today's day and age, it's smart.
Ally
We said that.
Olivia Mar
It's like. Yeah. It's economical.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
I'll say.
Ally
Los Angeles.
Olivia Mar
Los Angeles. Come on. I mean, would it be ideal if they had their own place? For sure. How do you be nice in the parents?
Ally
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Olivia Mar
That's always tough. But. But you.
Sid
You have your place, so.
Olivia Mar
Yeah, exactly. Exactly. But then, like. Yeah. He also, though, need to be okay with his setup versus mine, instead of being intimidated.
Ally
Always like an ego thing. That's true. That's true.
Olivia Mar
So.
Ally
All right, well, his mom is his best friend. Please be nice for my sake.
Olivia Mar
Oh, I see. Is she a bad word from the Internet boy? Mom?
Ally
No, no, me. Okay. She's me. Okay. Just loves him and he loves. And he's obsessed with her and he respects women and just like all of the things.
Olivia Mar
Okay.
Ally
And you can also be best friends.
Olivia Mar
So that's the thing. If she.
Sid
She quite involved though, I think.
Olivia Mar
Yeah. Really?
Sid
I think so.
Ally
Really?
Sid
I think. I think he will.
Ally
I feel like I'm hands off.
Sid
I think he will want her opinion on. On a lot of things.
Ally
Yeah, that's true. That's true. But I feel like, you know, if you were to come along, I'd realize.
Olivia Mar
This Turned about Sid. No, because I know boy mom.
Ally
And I always tell Ally, I'm like, I cannot be that weird boy mom.
Olivia Mar
No, you can't. You can't. Like.
Ally
And I don't feel like I am.
Olivia Mar
You don't. But he won't know yet.
Ally
He's a mom. He's a mommy's boy.
Olivia Mar
Right? Yeah. Right, Right.
Ally
So much.
Sid
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
As long as the mom isn't, like, like, like, weirdly threatened by you or, like, territorial about her son around you and she's supportive, then, like, I think you're all good.
Ally
Yeah. So I guess a cool mom is the best mom.
Olivia Mar
Yes. But not like a cool mom, like, proving it to her son, but, like, a cool mom she gets.
Ally
Chill, girls.
Olivia Mar
Girl. You can be a boy mom and a girl's girl.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
I'd love to see it.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
That's you.
Ally
It's me.
Olivia Mar
It's gonna be you.
Ally
It is me.
Sid
That is said.
Ally
Oh, well, I guess we kind of did this, but gym selfies. Selfies or, like, pictures in front of cars that aren't his.
Sid
How much are you gonna judge him by what he has on his feed?
Ally
I guess maybe, like.
Olivia Mar
Right. Okay. A photo in front of a car.
Ally
Tough.
Olivia Mar
Do you want to have sex with a car? Be honest.
Ally
Right. Or a photo in front of, like, a dead animal that they've killed.
Sid
No. Hunters.
Olivia Mar
And I'm not too. So, like, full of that. Or like the fishes that they've caught. Yeah.
Ally
And it's like, like, okay.
Olivia Mar
I could do that if I really wanted to.
Ally
Like. Right.
Sid
Wait, are you. Are you on the apps?
Olivia Mar
I. Yes. Recently. Okay. It's hell in there. It's so spooky. It's fine, though. I have not been on the apps. Like, I was on Tinder in college, like, in Peak 20. Like, 14, 2015. And I have not been on anything since. Since. But I have recently. I'm, like, testing the waters, you know, so I can't judge it too hard. I'm so new. I'm so new to this game. But I've, you know, just heard from my friends over the years that have been on it for a while, so I have much to learn, you know, because I'm such a. Like, I want someone to talk to me first. And my sisters are like, no, them. Sometimes you have to say something first. And I'm like, my husband will not make me 100%.
Ally
100.
Sid
We have a little differing.
Ally
He'll come, do you Come to you?
Olivia Mar
Do you? So you say, he'll come to you.
Sid
Do you Think I reached out first to Lucas when we matched on Tinder. See, I said hi. Pull in parenthesis. Smiley face.
Ally
Yeah, she's married and I'm not, so.
Olivia Mar
I guess you talk first. That's true.
Sid
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
She has field research. She's got. Oh, that's a good point, though. And sometimes they are a little shy, and if that's what it takes to get first past that first barrier.
Sid
And I just said hi. I. I didn't then asked meat or anything. I mean, it's a very long story. We were in different cities in different countries anyways. But I never planned to ask anyone out, but I was willing to just.
Ally
Be like, hey, put yourself out there. Yeah, for sure. Interesting.
Olivia Mar
My thing is, I want to meet someone in the wild.
Ally
So, like, I know, but that's hard to do, except you're everywhere.
Olivia Mar
And, like, that's why I'm everywhere.
Sid
Nice dressed up men out there.
Olivia Mar
You would think, but I met a lot of female focused, like, email powerful, like, events, you know, which is like, I love, like, those my girlies.
Sid
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
But, I mean, if you think it's bad online, we're on dating apps where, like, somebody won't say hi first. Nothing's happening outside.
Ally
Right?
Olivia Mar
Nobody's approaching anybody. And I don't know my opening move yet. So if you guys had an idea for, like, an opening move for me, I would gladly take it. Or if you guys could let me know what my. Like, I feel like going in with, like, hey, you look like my next.
Ally
Boyfriend feels a little too much.
Olivia Mar
That feels a little strong. I don't know. I don't know.
Ally
Ask Ali. Because no one comes and talks to me.
Sid
Oh, my gosh. That. That would be a little strong for me. But I feel like if you went up to a guy and just said, hey, I'm Livy. What's up?
Ally
Wow.
Sid
I think he would be like, oh, my gosh, you are so beautiful. I want to talk to you.
Ally
Yeah, but I'm like, you walk over here.
Sid
Yeah, I see.
Olivia Mar
I don't know.
Ally
But then I guess sometimes if you're on your phone or, like, your body is supposed to be open, and you're.
Sid
Probably swarmed by these amazing, impressive women that you were just talking about. Like, you might seem, like, out of their league. So they're intimidated.
Ally
That's what I always say. But I'm like, I just don't think that I'm approachable. So maybe. Okay, well, maybe we'd be open.
Sid
Here's what we're gonna do. Because the BFFR Hotline is open. So what are your like top three characteristics and then like your non negotiables? Like absolutely not. And then. Yes, a lot of women are listening to this, but tell your friends.
Olivia Mar
Yeah. Because nobody's setting anybody up anymore. So I love this. I love this. Tune me in. Okay. What are my non negotiables? Okay, I said it earlier, but you know, in our family conversation is a huge point, like a good talker. So I guess like you have to be like a certain level of intellectual in that way because then you also can be funny and wit is really important to me. But then again, I don't want to be going bit for bit with somebody because like.
Ally
Yeah, yeah, I feel that. I feel that it's a full time job over here.
Olivia Mar
So just like. Yeah. Like secure in themselves. It witty, intellectual and kind and six five with a. Yeah. Okay.
Ally
You're not kidding.
Sid
No, no, I'm not kidding.
Olivia Mar
I'm just a simple girl. I'm just a simple girl. Yeah.
Ally
I truly Thick, tall and long. Yay.
Sid
Tall, long, thick and witty.
Olivia Mar
Hey. Okay, write that down.
Sid
1, 8, 3, 3, TXT. BFFR. You can also DM us. It will get to me.
Ally
Yeah, perfect.
Olivia Mar
I also don't like have a type. I truly go off of like vibes. Like if you could like look at my exes lined up, you'd be like, whoa. One of my friends actually, when I showed her, she was like, you've got range, girl. So range is good, right? Is good. That's what it is. It really is about the person and the conversation and who you are and how we get along.
Sid
But also tall.
Olivia Mar
Yeah. Okay. Sometimes on the at, like, you know, it says your height. I have 511 on there. Does this happen to you?
Sid
No, but they lie. Are they lying?
Olivia Mar
No, it's just that like when somebody will like my profile and it says that they're like 5 7, I'm like, I almost need to meet this icon. Like, I almost need to like see what this guy is about to like have liked me and.
Ally
Right.
Olivia Mar
You know what I mean? Yes, you have. Are you as confident as like, I just, you know, so 100.
Ally
Okay.
Olivia Mar
Yeah, yeah.
Sid
All the same height lying down.
Ally
No, it's not. That's what Lucas's friends say. It's not though.
Olivia Mar
I have not heard that.
Ally
It's not.
Sid
Well, your heads are in the same spot.
Olivia Mar
Right.
Ally
They've got to be a little sort of on the pillow.
Olivia Mar
What if they have a short torso?
Ally
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
Olivia Mar
They're like here. Right, right here. So triple ch.
Sid
And then you're like, okay, guys, I need a refill. It's. It's time for happy hour.
Olivia Mar
Fair, Fair.
Ally
Need a refill. Fair.
Olivia Mar
Refill.
Ally
Refill from this.
Olivia Mar
I'll spill the next one on my shirt too. Can we get a close up on this one? He's doing it. Ah, that's a beautiful sound.
Ally
It is. Truly.
Olivia Mar
Oh, you guys, the white chairs. I'm so scared. Oh, I'm a really good.
Ally
I'm a really. I'm a really good poor.
Olivia Mar
They're professionals.
Ally
I forgot athletes. Oh.
Sid
Oh.
Olivia Mar
Stunning. Oh, it's getting worse. If my mom were here, she'd go, that's alcohol abuse.
Ally
Hello.
Olivia Mar
Cheers. Cheers.
Sid
Cheers to happy hour at bar bffr. Hey, and Olivia's staying for this, obviously.
Ally
It's my favorite time.
Sid
You want to be an hour at.
Ally
Bar BFFR with a watermelon martini that I just kind of had made out of love.
Sid
It's amazing.
Olivia Mar
I can taste the love.
Ally
Yeah. Love's a little strong here, but that's what we want.
Sid
Strong love.
Olivia Mar
Literally got car service here because I had a feeling.
Sid
She's also very smart. Ladies and gentlemen.
Olivia Mar
Tell your sons.
Ally
Yeah, we need to talk about recession bush.
Olivia Mar
Right.
Ally
Where did that come from? First of all, explain how it came to be, and then we got to talk about it.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Sid
We want to unpack it and debate it.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
My sisters and I on House of Mar, we had a. We had a long and real full grown chat about bushes. And what about is that. Because the Internet was talking a lot about recession bush, that having a bush or bushes coming back into grooming style is an indicator that there's a recession coming, which is like. Right.
Sid
The Internet.
Olivia Mar
But Andrea basically described it as like, you know, you're not spending as much on grooming products, on razors, on trimmers or whatever. You're just kind of going au natural as a way to save some money around a potential, like, recession or if things are getting tight and tough, so you just let it go full.
Ally
Full on, like, as long as it can be.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Ally
Oh, wow. Yeah.
Sid
I feel like the first thing you stop spending on in a recession, like, stop going to air on first.
Olivia Mar
No spiraling a popcorn second. Full bush second.
Sid
I just can't afford a razor anymore.
Ally
Yeah. But now we can't go back. I can't go back because I had laser.
Olivia Mar
Yeah. So that's.
Sid
So it's too late.
Olivia Mar
It's too late. A middle of this is that, like, it's too late. People Were talking about that they lasered it away at a young age and now they yearn for a bush.
Ally
Yeah, I wish. Like, is the. Is the landing strip still in?
Olivia Mar
Yeah, probably. I mean.
Ally
Or the triangle. Anything. The triangle.
Olivia Mar
I used to try to get waxed and I would, like, ask for fun things and then they would just like, make it so wonky. Every time I was like, never mind. What are we. I thought you were professional. Like, what are we doing here? I'm very much so. Like, do what you want on there.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Don't let anybody else tell you, though. Like, definitely take your partner's like, wants into consideration.
Sid
As long as he or she also takes yours into consideration.
Olivia Mar
Exactly.
Ally
And it's.
Olivia Mar
It can't be like a one way street there. And it can't be anything that you're not comfortable with. So it's like, truly do what you want down there.
Ally
Let that cry. I do feel like if it gets too long, it like, it maybe pulls or it. Yeah, like, itchy.
Sid
It kind of like pokes through the spandex.
Olivia Mar
I was gonna say when it spokes. And you can like. This is so weird. But when you, like, pet it, you can like feel it through like a.
Ally
Cheetah pet or something.
Sid
It's like a Chia Pet. And like, I'll be getting treatment.
Ally
Yeah.
Sid
And like, she's working on my nerve and then I'm like, looking down.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
It's just.
Sid
Yeah.
Ally
You know, there's a couple of them poking.
Sid
Yeah.
Ally
Just.
Olivia Mar
That's its own aesthetic.
Sid
Yeah, it is.
Olivia Mar
Thank you.
Sid
Did you ever use Nair or any of the hair removal? Oh, my gosh.
Olivia Mar
Those scared me because I heard they smelled really bad. So bad stink and then they poison in it. It's got to be crazy chemicals and didn't really work. Yes, that too.
Ally
Depends. They either worked if they burned you.
Sid
Right. If you left it on long enough to work, then you also got a burn.
Olivia Mar
Right.
Sid
So it could seep in and, like, kill the actual follicle.
Olivia Mar
Oh, my God. But if you left.
Sid
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
I was always worried that I would, like, somehow like something out of a movie, have a dollop on my hand and, like, itch my eyebrow. I was always like, like. And to me, it happens instantly. Like, you wipe it when it's. The hair comes with it, you know? So I was always terrified of that. So I never touched any of that stuff. Just good old razors and wax strips. The at home wax strips. Have you ever done those?
Ally
Yes, yes, yes, yes.
Sid
Oh, I tried it down there.
Olivia Mar
They go well for you or.
Sid
No, Almost, like, tore off.
Ally
Really?
Sid
Labia. Yeah.
Ally
The whole thing was almost just. Yeah, yeah. On the thing.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Sid
No, they're really scary.
Olivia Mar
They're really scary. So I. The kinds you rub together for, like, heat and then it melts. Those, like, never really work. So I would use a blow dryer, like a hair blow dryer on it.
Ally
Right.
Olivia Mar
Really comes apart. And I was, like, so scared. I was like, just do it. And I slapped it down.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
And then I was like, oh, yeah.
Sid
See, you gotta turn back.
Olivia Mar
You can't turn back. Two, three.
Ally
And then you just do it.
Olivia Mar
But for me, like, you know when you're like, arm goes. All your muscles go noodly because you're scared of something.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Like, I would go to rip it in my arm and be like, yeah, like.
Sid
Or you just can't grip and you're.
Ally
Like, I can't do this.
Olivia Mar
I can't do the other half. Yeah, that's it. This is what you. Forever. Sorry. Those scare me too. And it's just, like, not worth it.
Ally
I hated getting waxed in general, though. And then they put their hand on it as if it's going to help the pain. Oh, yeah.
Olivia Mar
They, like, slap it down there.
Ally
And I'm like, thank you. It fudgeing her hurts.
Sid
So we have two teammates in Orlando who shared the same waxer as me. And the one girl, she came into training one day and was like, huh? This was the first time anyone had me, like, on all fours to get waxed.
Ally
Yeah.
Sid
And the other girl and I turned to each other and we're like, they don't ask us to do that.
Ally
Really? Oh, I've been on all fours. I've been butterflied out.
Sid
No, but the same person had us, like, we would kind of do the butterfly or, like, one leg at a time.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
One line.
Sid
And the other girl would just get her in this, like, child's pose position and just be, like, right up in there. So we were just a little bit.
Olivia Mar
That was always spooky. Maybe her hair grows differently.
Sid
Yeah. A little bit intrigued about the different techniques. And so then she. She did stop going to that place.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Sid
And never, never had that again.
Ally
I always got the all fours.
Sid
You guys are lucky. I guess.
Olivia Mar
I think I only got the all fours for, like, the butt strip. You know what I mean?
Ally
You know what? You think the butt strip hurts? It doesn't.
Sid
The best relief at the end. That's like the Gillet at the end.
Ally
Put me on all fours.
Olivia Mar
It's the kiss at the End.
Ally
That's what that is. After the pain of right near the lips.
Olivia Mar
Oh, my God.
Ally
I always suntan naked.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Ally
Out in the back.
Olivia Mar
Smart.
Ally
And then I. I call Ally and my boobies out or whatever.
Olivia Mar
Mom.
Sid
If you come over and Sid has to take a shower, she makes you stand and talk to her while she's in the bath. Or shower.
Olivia Mar
That's friendship. That's beautiful. That's friendship.
Ally
Like, where are you going? Come with me.
Sid
Talk.
Ally
Talk to me.
Olivia Mar
My friends in adulthood, like, you know, you have your friends from college or whatever. My friends in adulthood, where we see each other because we go out for a drink or we do this, and now you finally get closer and you're like, I need you to know what my boobs look like. Because, like, that's what real friends do. And I don't want it to be weird when I'm changing in front of you. Like, here's what they look like, you know? Like, that's friendship, I think.
Ally
I feel like we are so comfortable because it's always how it's been. You're just, like, naked around your teammates, you know? Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Athletes are different.
Ally
Yeah.
Sid
Wait. Now that you said that, I just realized that, like, my friends, who I don't know from soccer.
Ally
I've never seen your boob.
Sid
We. We have had no reason to see each other naked. I've never really thought about that.
Ally
Wow.
Olivia Mar
Have a couple of these and get to know each other.
Sid
Yeah.
Ally
Are they big? Are they little?
Olivia Mar
Yeah. You'll never know. It's an important thing which friends are judgmental. Which. Which ones?
Sid
Oh, my gosh. Yeah. So my amazing friends list. Listening to this, who.
Olivia Mar
Get ready to show your nibs. Yeah.
Sid
If we haven't seen each other naked, we will be soon.
Ally
Yeah. Everyone's seen my nips for sure. Yeah. Yeah.
Sid
Artemis, should we do last call?
Ally
Yeah, we need you.
Sid
We need you to help us with last call.
Ally
Yeah.
Olivia Mar
Last call.
Sid
Okay. So every week we ask you to call us with your questions, confessions, unhinged, BFFR moments. And you have been doing a great job. Thank you. So this week, we have Olivia here to help us break it down. Let's hear it.
Ally
Here we go.
Olivia Mar
Hi, Sid, Ali and Olivia.
D
This is Erin calling. I need your opinion about my friend Steph. So she recently started dating this guy Jake, and I'm so sorry, my baby's crying in the background. I'm a Malieu, so obviously I have some time to kill. So she, like, always dates apples. So we're all excited she's dating someone nice. They Go on a date the other night, and he was just a total dud, and she was really upset about it. Like, they'd probably been on nine dates before, and he rocked. And then this date, I guess he'd been working all week and just, like, sucked. And so we got in this big debate last night of what is better. Would you rather have a guy show up to a date and be a total dud? Clearly, my child doesn't think that's the answer. Or would you rather have him come and totally fake it it? And I was arguing to her, like, well, if he faked it, you never would have known. And now you wouldn't be freaking out and getting all these. Whatever this, like, weird early dating fight. Or should he have just canceled? So what's your opinion? What do you think? I have to let her know.
Sid
Good question.
Ally
Yeah, that is a good question. I'm. I would. I would rather a cancel. But then I'm like, no. Oh, you. You would have created this date, and now you're canceling. So fake it till you make it. That's what I'm. That's what I'm saying. It's.
Olivia Mar
My problem is, like, I'm a faker till you make yeah Maker. And I just, like, put on a show, even at the expense of my own energy. And I know that that's not good. So, like, I guess I don't recommend it, so I can't, like, advocate for that, but I would have done that. So I would have been like, well, what the hell? Just.
Ally
Yeah, like, you can't be that. Like.
Sid
Yeah, I think if you aren't good at faking it. Just the communication, like, if you're gonna. If you're saying, like, like, I'm just so wiped out today, but I really wanted to come on this date, like, to be so clear. I want to be here. That's why I'm doing it. But I don't have a lot of energy today. Or if. Even if you cancel, be like, send flowers.
Olivia Mar
Or be like, I really wanted to.
Sid
See you something good to make up for it so you don't have this. Like, you don't start worrying.
Ally
But also, it's the ninth date, so he could be like, I'm so tired. Let's do, like, Uber Eats at mine.
Sid
Yeah, I don't. Going on the date and being a dud. I don't know if there's an excuse for that.
Olivia Mar
Anything that's. Just let them know it's not them. Like, because I'm so. Yes. Like, yeah, you center yourself anywhere. So you're automatically gonna think that it's your fault that they're feeling this way or acting this way, or you did something wrong or something's not working here. So as long as you're clearly communicating, like, then again, like I always say, like, you can communicate until your faces are blue. But, like, it is about comprehension. So, like, he needs to understand where your friend's coming from on why she would be upset about the way that you're. You get it, like, back and forth.
Sid
Do you think she should tell him, like, she's pissed he was dead?
Olivia Mar
I mean, maybe not, like, open with pissedness because then, like, he will automatically get defensive and, like, not be a great conversationalist. Probably. Crazy. Yeah, crazy man. Like, I was totally normal. Like, no, you weren't.
Ally
Yeah, you're a loser.
Olivia Mar
You were being a loser. Just be like, I think, like, starting the conversation with, like, hey, I've been having a really great time, but, you know, you. I really wasn't feeling our last date. Was everything okay? Was there anything that, you know, I. I did. Or was it just, like, your own work life balance that's kind of stressing you out? Like, make sure that they know it's not you, it's them.
Ally
I guess.
Sid
I wish you would recognize that he was a dud, though.
Olivia Mar
Yeah.
Sid
Come on, Jake. Do better.
Olivia Mar
Literally. The hell they never.
Ally
I don't know. I would probably.
Sid
You would let it fester.
Ally
I would let it fester. And then we would go somewhere, you know, the next day. And now I'm gonna be a dad.
Olivia Mar
Right, Right, right, right, right.
Sid
Don't take this advice.
Olivia Mar
Don't take advice.
Ally
I'm like, is the best medicine.
Sid
