Kev Sheehan
I'm doing all right. All right, Bill. We're in the middle of the heat of the summer here in North Carolina, but it's nice.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah. I never complain. You know, you could always step out of that. A real hot day into the AC for a while. But when I think back on the winter we had. Thank God. Yeah. For the nice hot weather.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah. And you know me, I just love being around the water and around the ocean too. And not that I don't like it in the wintertime, but I can't go in it in the winter time, so it's only one dimensional now. It's multi dimensional.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah, it's you and I both. I like to go down by the shore and just feel a vibe. And I'm particularly fond of the wind. I love going. I love going down and feeling the juice as the wind's blowing along the shore, you know, and the white caps are cresting, you know, I just love that whole thing.
Kev Sheehan
Well, and we've been getting our share of the wind down here. I don't know how it is up by you, but man, it's been blowing the dog off the chain.
Bill Sheehan
Well, the only one I've been getting a chance of lately is breaking wind. Most of that occurs in the oil office with my co workers.
Kev Sheehan
Oh, nice. Reminds you of the stench of a Sasquatch.
Bill Sheehan
Yes, we used to call it the one cheek sneak.
Kev Sheehan
A little bit of stank.
Bill Sheehan
You remember we used to say he. He who smelt it, dealt it. How stupid is all that stuff? But it's so worthy of a laugh today.
Kev Sheehan
All right, well, what kind of creep. What kind of creep are we getting on today, Bill?
Bill Sheehan
I got some interesting stuff, Kev. I'm gonna bring back a fan favorite and a favorite of yours. Last time we talked about this account was, geez, I think over four years ago. But before I do that, I want to bring up a little account I was given. It's brief and I'm throwing it out there for your consideration, my fine feathered friends. This account was shared with me by Andy Babstock, a resident of the state of Oregon. This is what Andy had to say to me in 1974, Bill. I was a 21 year old man living in Northern Oregon and working for my uncle doing construction work. At the time we were between jobs and two other friends and I had decided to take a day of horseback riding through the hill country. There was absolutely nothing unusual about the day, sunny and warm as we were now three hours into our ride. At that time, I had no personal knowledge of the Bigfoot creature, having not been privy to any of the data I now know comes from the Pacific Northwest region via Washington state. Although many speak of the silence experienced when reportedly entering into the realm of Bigfoot, this particular area was always quiet, which is precisely why we were there riding on this particular day. It was simply a day of relaxation out in the sun. While working along the slope of this hillside, my friend Jonah had stopped directing us with his finger to look at something he had spied out through the trees, which at the time and distance appeared to be a grouping of limbs leaning against some trees. Being old and grayed with age, remember at that time no members of our party, including myself, had thoughts about this being the construct of a Bigfoot as we approached. And now, having dismounted, we were standing collectively alongside this unusual structure, with it in our minds having been built or fabricated by some other travelers in years past. Today, as you know, Bill, I believe what we were looking at is what is commonly called a tree structure within the Bigfoot community. Several thinner branches ran horizontally between two trees about 20ft from the ground with their ends resting on two boughs. Leaning against these branches in a somewhat tangled but uniform pattern were some 30 or 40 other thin trees in the 25 to 30 foot range, bending against the horizontal ones that I just described, with some on the backside and others on the front. If you looked at it from the side, it had the shape of an old military pup tent, triangular in its dimensions. Numerous other saplings, which appeared to have been part of the structure in years past, having succumbed to weather and age, were lying beneath the structure. There was no way of dating what we were looking at. However, based on the appearance and condition of what was there, it had to have been many decades since its construction. Based on the overall condition of what was there, including that which was rotten and had fallen to the ground. I should also mention that there were no signs of any fabric having been part of it, either on the structure itself or beneath it on the ground. There was no rope or twine in the area, no signs of a fire pit, indicative that somebody had spent any time there at all, which would typically be the case in this region had somebody done so. Pretty good sleuth work on the part of this guy. Now, the real reason I contacted you, Bill, involved what happened next, which was why this discovery had remained etched in my mind's eye for so many years. My buddy Freddy had gone underneath this V shaped structure, Standing and looking up where all the trees were leaning at the apex above him. Now, calling us to step in and look at what he had seen. Above us was a human skull hanging from the top with a branch woven through one of the eye sockets. This skull was as old as the structure itself, evidently having been part of it from its inception. From here on out, Bill, this is all speculation on my part, Assuming this head had belonged to somebody being placed where it was. Now, they may or may not have been alive and beheaded around the time of being made part of this. But why? There was some tribal activity in this area well in the past, but this couldn't have been that old, and there was no knowledge of such vicious activity known by me at the time. Anyway, historically speaking, at this point in my life, I'm well aware of the stories of missing persons and the like Regarding bigfoot and its activities. I am also of the mindset, as are you, that many of these creatures are more than a bit dangerous, to say the least, with people more than likely having fallen prey to them. So I put this whole scenario out there for you and your readers and listeners, Asking you to make a judgment call based on what we had found. What exactly was this? Was it placed where it was and for what apparent reason? It did give all of us the creeps at the time, but that may happen anytime one runs across human remains in the wild or elsewhere. It was in an area where we were likely the only humans that had ever run across it with that which was primarily left wholly intact and undisturbed. For obvious reasons. I've been pondering our find that day for many years as to what exactly was represented by it having been left there in that fashion. Was it, in fact, Bill, a trophy from a killing of a human being by another human being or something else entirely? Perhaps it was found much like an animal skull and seen as an item of great value because it was somewhat unique in the wilderness. Unfortunately, these facts are something we will never know. Very cool. Very interesting.
Kev Sheehan
In the hospital, too, up in Oregon.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah. I mean, it. Whether it was constructed by a man or creature, who the heck knows? But that is certainly something really weird to run across. Right.
Kev Sheehan
And it sounded like he was off the beaten path. Right. On a two or three hour horseback ride.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah. I mean, and the horse, you know, you're not thinking about, really terrain or. I'm tired. You know, you just strutting along, making good time. You know, even when they're sauntering along, you're covering a lot of ground.
Kev Sheehan
Absolutely.
Bill Sheehan
So very weird. And the way this thing was woven in there, like some type of branch or viney branch, whatever. You want to think of it as going through one of the eye sockets to hang it.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
Like a freaking ornament. I mean, that's weird.
Kev Sheehan
That's what. That's what I was thinking when you were going through it. I was like, it's like an ornament of sorts.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah. How do you like my. That sounds like something you find. The Addams Family House. How do you like my decor, Festo?
Kev Sheehan
Oh, it's lovely.
Bill Sheehan
Unbelievable. Now, let me step into this, Skip.
Kev Sheehan
I'm waiting with bated breath because he gave a little teaser at the beginning. Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
This is personally for you and a lot of other people and of course, Kev, you know, we always have new listeners. So the idea, by the way, while our listeners are listening foreign, I'd like you to revisit the. The Port Lock incident again on the Kenai Peninsula.
Kev Sheehan
Oh, okay.
Bill Sheehan
I was thinking about that the other day and digging into some other stuff and that's worthy of bringing up again. That was an incredible situation up there.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
Anyways. Yeah, yeah, let's. Let's move into this. So this was brought to my attention by Terry Philbin, a resident of Louisiana. Here is what he had to say about his sighting. In October 1979, two years prior to the day of the sighting. I met my wife to be at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Mary Beth and I had both signed up for the Air Guard from two different points of the compass. Had first met in a Sunday church service on the base. It was love at first sight for both of us. We actually only saw each other a handful of times while on the base. And then I headed back north and she headed back south and east to Louisiana, her home state. We stayed in touch and I had made several trips down to her home where on the last trip I had proposed to her and she said yes. Speaking for myself, I had no real anchor around my leg keeping me in Pennsylvania. She, on the other hand, had an extensive family and a little girl she had out of wedlock when she was 15. The family was tight. The mother and the grandma looked after little Julia while Mary Beth was doing the guard thing. At that time I decided to move down south with them and make a go of it locally. Anywhere that Mary Beth was, I was happy to be. Things are working out really well. I scored a job with a local utility company that actually paid pretty decent compared to the going wages in the area. According to what I was used to, this was a depressed place. But the people didn't even know it and they were happy. I'm sure there is more than one life lesson wrapped up in that statement, Bill. At any rate, their family had several homes scattered in a small area, all of them built on stilts in case of flooding. The reason why I mention this will become obvious as we proceed. Mary Beth, Julia and I had taken over one of the homes as our own, which was really gracious of the family. There was zero mortgage, zero rent, which was quite a way to start off our marriage. Now the stilts on this particular house were about six feet tall above ground. There was a well built staircase that came up alongside of the house which brought you right into the kitchen. Inside, facing the front of the house were two rooms side by side with a half wall dividing them. The room to the left was the dining room which was connected to the kitchen by a pass through window for serving food. And the room on the right was actually what I would call a den. Both the dining room and the den had a large picture window on the front wall of the house that actually faced the road. There were houses across the street from us as well as on both sides. And to the rear of the house was a dense forest that became really boggy as you walked into it. I was told by some of the family and the locals that there was stuff in those woods that you don't want to meet up with even when the sun was shining. I had taken that message at the time with a grain of salt, knowing that these folk were a little bit different than I was accustomed to in the way that they lived and many of the things that they said and believed. The three of us were in this house for several months, and on more than one occasion Julia had called for Mary Beth during the night. On several of these nights, Julia had come to sleep with us, and when I asked her what she saw, she said, a big dog. When I asked her what she meant, she said a big dog was smiling at her through the window and she didn't like him. As I said, the same thing had occurred on a number of nights spaced out over a period of several months. So it wasn't like every night she just wanted to sleep with us. Now, this house was built on a lot that had a slightly angled grade to it. The side of the house that Julia's bedroom was on only had about 4ft of stilt exposed above the grade, whereas on the other side there was a full 6ft of exposed timber. I don't know why, but one day I was out next to the house and I grabbed a five foot long rake. I held the rake up to the house under Julia's bedroom window. As a rough estimate, it was about 7ft or so to the bottom of her window, about 10 to the top of it. I remember chuckling to myself and saying, now that's a serious dog. And I blew it off. I remember the day, Bill, as though it was yesterday, October 9th. Mary Beth was in the kitchen baking some corn muffins while Julia and I were on the other side of the half wall sitting in the den. I was in an easy chair watching the tube. Julia was playing with some toys on the floor in front of me. I must remind you that this side of the house was facing the street and not the woods. There was a fierce rainstorm raging outside and the power had flickered on and off several. And then it went off for good. We lit some candles and thankfully Mary Beth didn't lose the muffins because we had a gas range. It was 7:30pm The Lightning and thunder started to come rolling in. It was so loud and frequent that Julia had jumped onto my lap. I couldn't blame her. It was even freaking me out so much that I wished I could be jumping into someone, slap myself. I was looking down at a book with this nice pedestal candle burning next to me. And every time the lightning flashed the entire picture Window in front of me lit up. On one of the flashes I swore that I saw the silhouette of something large in the window. And then it went immediately dark. Now I was staring directly at the glass, but it was black. No sooner had my eyes got accustomed to the dark than another lightning flash lit up the window. And there it was. The upper body of a large, apparently hair covered creature with pointy ears sticking up like a wolf. I didn't want to scare anybody, but suddenly I was a believer in Julia's story. I told Julia, go to mommy. Because I had to see something. And so she did. I put my face right up to the glass and as I did, I distinctly saw something dart off to the side of the house. I now walked down the hall to Julia's window and looked out, but I saw nothing, mind you. It was very dark and the power was out. I then went to the rear of the house looking out towards the woods and saw nothing there either. About 10 o' clock the power came back on. The storm was gone. I told Mary Beth I was going out to the car for my smokes and I grabbed the flashlight. I went down the stairs and headed straight for the front of the house to where the window was. That I had seen this thing. I needed affirmation that I wasn't hallucinating or something. But seriously, Bill, I knew what I saw and it was not a reflection. As I shone the light on the ground, there were a number of very large and long oddly shaped footprints in the soggy soil. They were narrow at the heel and broad at the toes, of which there were four on each print. That's right, there were four toes on each print. And the feet were somewhere around 20 inches long sunk into the ground. The prints were a good 2 inches. I looked around with the light and I saw nothing. It was at that very moment that my neighbor Clyde pulled up with his truck, his house being less than 35ft away from mine. When he jumped out, he said, is everything all right? And I said to him, you ought to come over here, Clyde, and have a look at this. I told him what happened as we both stood there looking at the prince. And he said to me, sweet Lord Jesus, what you got here, boy? Are the footprints of a rougarou. He said, I never thought in all my days that I never set eyes on them, and there they are. I said to him, clyde, what the hell is a rougarou? He told me, in these parts is known. It's known as a wolf man from hell. And you sure don't want to mess with them. No way, no how. From what I saw in the lightning flashes, Bill, this thing was halfway up the picture window and its shoulders looked to be close to four feet across. I could definitely see tall pointy ears that stuck straight up like they were pinned. The weirdest thing with these four toed hoof or footprints that it left being under the window. To this day, I never go in the woods behind our home unless I am armed for bear, or in this case, armed for rougarou, whichever comes along first. There you have it, Kev.
Narrator
Whoa.
Kev Sheehan
One of my favorites like you said. And boy, you know, armed for bear, you better be armed with some like silver bullets in a.44 magnum. I love that quote too. The wolfman from hell.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah, well, that was coming from a local and you know, you don't want to mess with it no way, no how.
Kev Sheehan
I remember that story all the time, folks, because as I sit here and record, fortunately it's daytime. I'm out at the coast of North Carolina and in the little room where I record, you know, of course my brother and I are separated by 600 miles and we record simultaneously on two different devices of course. And then try to put it all together at the end of the day. And I look to my right out the window here at the coast. To my left is the ocean. A couple of blocks away to my right is a pretty dense little forest, a coastal forest. So I'm looking out and my house is on stilts. I'm sitting up here on stilts looking out in this super dark, dense forest. And of course daytime today, but normally it's nighttime when we're recording. And I'm always looking and thinking, man, if there was a dog, man, looking in the window here, I think I and die just from a heart attack. It's like, hey, I resemble that remark.
Bill Sheehan
Remember when they heard the T. Rex and the power went out in Jurassic Park? It was raining, they were looking through and they saw the goat drop on the glass roof. Yes,
Kev Sheehan
But they say this rougarou 10ft tall, right?
Bill Sheehan
Well, listen, the house is on stilts. On Julia's side was a four foot stilt. On the other side, the width of the house going down the grid a little bit was a 6 foot still to keep it, you know, on the, on the even. And so on the front side of the house, which had to be on a six foot elevation I would think. But the house being slightly on a grade, it could have been less or more. Right, as you're going up to the Four foot side. So you figure up to the base of the window and then consuming the window. Let's just say it was the four foot side. The den. He's sitting in the den. If it sloped down. Yeah, it was that side because the staircase led up into the kitchen and she was on the other side. So let's just say it was 4ft plus 32 or 4 inches up to the base of the window. So let's just say another three feet. That's seven. And then like your standard window builder's window, I think is about 3ft. So to the top of the window, that would make 10ft. And if it was visible fully in the window, it had to be to the tips of his ears, every bit of 9 to 10ft. Unbelievable. Man, that is so huge.
Kev Sheehan
Yeehaw.
Narrator
Wow.
Bill Sheehan
Can you imagine that thing chasing you down?
Kev Sheehan
No.
Bill Sheehan
There is no chance of escape.
Kev Sheehan
No. What's really interesting too, Bill, because I think of these Rougarou as being mostly demonic. You know what I mean?
Bill Sheehan
Yeah, yeah.
Kev Sheehan
But yeah, in this case, they had physical evidence too. Those 20 inch long footprints.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah. Bizarre man. But you know, a friend of mine and I were just talking about this the other day, which is nothing new. He had followed a set of footprints in the snow that actually stepped over a wire fence, continued on the other side and ceased to exist.
Kev Sheehan
And I'm guessing that defense was like 4ft tall or something like that.
Narrator
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
You know your typical offense to keep maybe cows from wandering off the where they're grazing or whatever. It was like probably post and wire.
Kev Sheehan
Yep.
Bill Sheehan
I mean, what are you talking about, four or five feet?
Kev Sheehan
Yep, exactly.
Bill Sheehan
Even if it was six feet, who the hell just steps over that in stride?
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
Inline prints large in 5 inches of snow heading off and ending. Now, if you're in 5 inches of fresh snow and you did anything, you'd have to leap out of them in one direction, backtrack and leave more prints. You know, a solitary set of left right in line prints going over the fence and continuing and then disappearing.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
So when we're talking about the evidence of the Rougarou's footprints, this type of evidence, where the heck did what left those prints go just like whoop, exit a stage left even.
Kev Sheehan
Where did the wolf man from hell go?
Bill Sheehan
Heavens to Megatron. It's a Rougarou.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah, that wouldn't be my reaction.
Bill Sheehan
Oh, man.
Kev Sheehan
All right, thanks for bringing that one back. That's one of my favorites. Yeah. Today in Cryptids, in the news and other oddities, we're gonna Step out of the forest and no, we're not going to look to the sky. Although I did see a whole bunch of really weird satellites again last night, Bill.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah, like we said those on satellites and.
Kev Sheehan
But today we're going to dive into the deep, very dark water and we're going to talk about the legend of the Lusca. I don't think I've covered before.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah.
Kev Sheehan
L U S C A okay. And this creature is cited down in the Bahamas. Okay. Down in the southeast from us.
Bill Sheehan
Okay.
Kev Sheehan
And many describe it as an impossible combination of biology to what we know. Half shark, half octopus or half dragon and half octopus. You thought I was going to have four halves there, right? And another half and another half for you. But it's reported to have these massive jaws filled with giant kind of shark like teeth and then it has many tentacles like a giant octopus.
Bill Sheehan
What a crazy thing.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah. And according to, you know, historical lore, a fully grown Lusca can halt a two masted sailing ship dead in the water.
Bill Sheehan
Wow, man.
Kev Sheehan
So like it kind of like the legends of the giant squid. This thing would coil its underwater tentacles around the rudder of the ship and slow it down and then reach up to the deck and grab sailors and pull them into the water.
Bill Sheehan
Oh my God. You know, listen man, you know, I've had, I used to think all of that stuff was fantasy, you know, when I was younger, Jules Verne, all of that 20,000 leagues under the Sea, remember what's his name? Fighting off the squid on top of the submarine, you know, and it was grabbing them and trying to pull him in it to his pincers, you know. But I'll tell you, when you look at some of the old artwork and depictions of what is obviously a squid wrapping itself around maybe a 30, 40, 50 foot tops sailing boat made of wood, highly credible, that something. And you know what ice the cake, Kev was those pictures of that navy ship dry in dry dock. You've seen them, haven't you?
Kev Sheehan
Yeah, yeah.
Bill Sheehan
Where there was evidence that something had latched onto that underwater submerged like radar dome on the bottom of the keel. And you could see that something had latched onto that iron and bottom painted boat and actually did a little damage. It attacked that thing.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
Like what the hell would think of attacking, you know, a 300 foot long Navy vessel? I mean it's crazy, you know, 100.
Kev Sheehan
And by the way, this is more than just a story of this giant creature. They're seen like what brings us to the Bahamas is. Yes, they've seen there. They've been seen there and reported there for many, many, many years. But they seem to be associated with these offshore deep holes in the ocean that are known as blue holes.
Bill Sheehan
Okay, okay.
Kev Sheehan
So the Bahamas themselves are built on these massive stony plateaus of limestone. Okay. And during one of the ice ages, when sea levels dropped slightly, acidic rainwater ate its way downward through the limestone, forming these massive subterranean cave systems. And when the sea levels rose again, these caves flooded. And those. Those giant holes are now under the water, creating what we now call blue holes.
Bill Sheehan
Wow.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah. And these blue holes are subject to heavy tidal forces. So during an incoming tide, millions of gallons of water are sucked down into the cavern, creating these massive surface whirlpools. And these whirlpools, you know, are terrifying. Like, they can drag scuba divers into them, small boats into. They just disappear. Right. And when the tide goes out again, it reverses, blowing the water out almost like a geyser. And when the early Bahamians watched, a calm sea suddenly erupted to a churning vortex. It looked exactly like a massive breathing sea monster lurking just beneath the surface.
Bill Sheehan
Right, right. They're thinking something is stirring up, viciously stirring up the surface of the water from beneath.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah, yeah. And they have these. You know, these are out at sea, and you've seen these photographs of these whirlpools, giant whirlpools out in the ocean. Right. And they also have them inland. And the ones that are inland form the same way, but they're even deadlier. Okay. Because they basically fill up with acid and, like, sulfur, and water is terrible. And. And also a lot of massive colonies of bacteria. Okay. So in one of these accounts we talk about has to do with one of these inland blue holes. All right. Yeah. So this first account, Bill, takes place in one of these inland blue holes. So let's look at the account of an elderly Bahamian farmer named Gator Ishmael.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah. Now, you know, Kev, I've heard of some of these inland holes in particular in South America, where they have a different name. And the water is apparently very blue and clear. I don't know. I know people have dived in them and explored them. They lower them down into these holes, you know.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah, I know in Belize, I've seen them, you know, in places like that. And some of them, you know, are not as, like, here in the. In the Bahamas. Apparently, the inland ones are, like, really rancid with bacteria and sulfur and, like, acidic. So it's not. You know, you wouldn't want to dive
Bill Sheehan
in them, take a Swig of it.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah. No, no, so. And this account talks about that. So this bohemian farmer named Gator Ishmael, he used to dispose of his deceased livest by pushing them into an inland blue hole. Right?
Bill Sheehan
Yeah.
Kev Sheehan
So that doesn't, that doesn't help with the quality.
Bill Sheehan
No, no, no.
Kev Sheehan
But listen to this. One day, after pushing a dead cow into the water, Ishmael watched in horror as a massive carnivorous marine animal rose rapidly from the dark water and violently snatched a floating horse cock carcass. Cow carcass, sorry. And drag the immense weight beneath the surface.
Narrator
Wow.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
So this thing came from what, somewhere else? Through the cavernous voids under the earth? You would think, right?
Kev Sheehan
Who knows?
Narrator
Wow.
Kev Sheehan
Who knows how deep this hole is? It lives down there and you know, is eating whatever it can, but it's
Bill Sheehan
got to be connected, you know, somewhere, somehow. You know, I don't think.
Kev Sheehan
Here's one that's. Yeah, here's one that's out in the offshore blue.
Bill Sheehan
Okay, okay.
Kev Sheehan
So now, 2005, a professional underwater photographer was diving near an offshore blue hole when he was ambushed by what he called an octopus that he estimated to be 50ft long. 5. 0.
Bill Sheehan
Wow.
Kev Sheehan
He thrust his heavy camera rig outward as a shield and the colossal creature seized the camera, ripped it from his grasp and retreated into the cavern.
Bill Sheehan
Wow.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
Oh my God. Hey, folks, say what you will, man, you know, if an octopus latches onto something, let's just say you had a six foot long octopus, four feet long. If it latches onto something, man, by the time it's getting, you're even realizing what's happened, the fish or whatever, it's grabbing, it's. It's doomed. Yeah, you're not going to get away, you know.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
I mean, those suckers and tentacles and they're apparently pretty strong, you know, and they pull you in. Wow. That's crazy, man.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah. And there's one, one more short account of a swimmer who was violently grabbed near a blue hole. Another one these offshore blue holes. Around sundown, he managed to thrash his way to shore only to find massive distinct circular sucker marks clustered violently across his thigh and leg.
Bill Sheehan
Oh my God.
Kev Sheehan
Right. And I touched on it earlier, so, you know, even some of the TV guys, like Jeremy Wade from River Monsters. Right. We love Jeremy.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah.
Kev Sheehan
And Josh. Josh Gates from Destination X have investigated these holes. Wade concluded that an abnormally large undocumented octopus was highly probable. And Josh Gates actually filmed a massive camouflage shape moving rapidly across a cavern wall.
Bill Sheehan
Oh my God.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah.
Bill Sheehan
It gives me the freaking Willies.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah, yeah. And of course, you know, I talk about this a lot related to Bigfoot, you know, and the possibility of something like Bigfoot, you know, some unknown species living on land. I always draw the comparison to the oceans where they're discovering new stuff in the oceans every day. We'll never know the discovered place.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah, we'll never know the half of it, Kev.
Kev Sheehan
No, no. So I think, you know, this kind of thing is highly possible in the ocean. We just don't know.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah. That is crazy, man.
Narrator
Wow.
Kev Sheehan
Unbelievable. Right? And any of you down there in the Bahamas, you know, that know anything about this, let us know to give us some of your insights into the legend or perhaps, perhaps your own sightings as well.
Bill Sheehan
That's right. And just remember, folks, tying into what Kev just said, if you've seen something, say something, reach out to us@bigfoot terrainthewoods.com hit the contact button. And again, if you've left me your number and I haven't called you, I want you to send me another email and say, bill, I left my number and you haven't called me. And here it is again, you slacker.
Kev Sheehan
Yeah, well, you know, you could say that, too.
Bill Sheehan
I'm busier than a one arm wallpaper hanger over here. So, you know, things get out of my hands occasionally. And it's not my intention, you know, it's just that time, time, time, you know.
Kev Sheehan
But it's still okay if they call you a slacker, right?
Bill Sheehan
Yeah, well, they could call me a slacker as long as they don't mind getting their ass kicked. Come over here, let me kick you in the buttock.
Kev Sheehan
All right, well, let's go to listener mail, Bill, and wrap this up. We got one man email I'm going to read today from Daniel, and it's a bit of fan mail, folks, but we like those two. And he says, I haven't had any sightings. I've had a couple of strange occurrences that I thought were very strange but definitely could be explained away if you were a skeptic. He said, I'm a believer. And I find your podcast the absolute best of all I listen to by a long shot. I'm around the same age as you, Bill, and I absolutely love the references to the past that you bring up some great memories. Sure brings back lots and lots of great memories. The format of the show is great. I love cryptids in the news, and then I also love any encounters you have with any kind of creatures. You're both awesome and I really look forward to every episode. And Dan mentions, too. Bill, as you mentioned, he'd like you to give him a call sometime so he can tell you about some stuff.
Bill Sheehan
Yeah, now, you see, I saw Dan's email, and this is kind of why I mentioned the phone thing. Honest with Kev, I'm not sure if I called Daniel or not. I do call people just to chat with them. Like he said, I haven't had a sighting, but I'd call Daniel up just to, you know, BS with him and have a couple of laughs and. But, Daniel, if I haven't called you, send me another email and say, hey, Bill, this is Daniel. No, you haven't called me, you bum. Now pick up your phone and do it.
Kev Sheehan
And Daniel's from Minnesota, if that helps jar your memory.
Bill Sheehan
Minnesota? Maybe he's a Norwegian.
Kev Sheehan
Perhaps.
Bill Sheehan
Well, Kev, great, great podcast. I like that story about these holes and these squids and wild sea creatures, unknown creatures in the depths of the earth and the oceans. And remember, folks, if you should find yourself living in a house on stilts in Louisiana, riding a horse in the high country of northern Oregon, you best remember one thing, my friends. Always carry more gun than you think you're going to need. Sleep tight.
