BILL o'reilly Here you are listening to the weekend edition of the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.

Thanks, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America. Temporary means temporary. Second Amendment wins again. Still searching in Venezuela and Caitlin Clark punched in the neck. It's all coming up. Then Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, the supreme court in a 6 to 3 decision overturned a lower court that blocked a practice that limited the number of people who could apply for asylum each day. Pro immigration anti border activists said this policy created a humanitarian crisis as thousands of people settled in makeshift shelters on the other side of the border awaiting their turn for days or months. The policy is still in effect, but so few people are coming to and even attempting to cross the border that this administration doesn't really use it. The court also said that the president can end a program known as temporary protected status. Lower court said the president can't end temporary protected status, emphasis on the word temporary. Well, the Supreme Court said they are temporary, but now we have 350,000 Haitians, 6,100 Syrians, among others whose status is now in jeopardy. Haitians were granted six months of Temporary Protected Status for back in 2010. The Supreme Court also ruled against a Hawaii law. Most states will allow you to carry a gun one way or the other, either concealed or open carry. But there's some places where you can't. So a gun free zone? Well, Hawaii passed a law that says you can't carry a gun anywhere unless you have express consent from the property owner. So every place is a gun free zone unless you have express consent for particular places. Six to three. Again, the Supreme Court said no, that is a severe restriction on the daily activities of lawful gun owners in violation of the Second Amendment. Venezuelans still searching for survivors beneath multiple collapsed buildings. Two earthquakes, 7.2 and 7.5. And the way the Richter scale works, that 7.5 earthquake is 2.8 times more energetic than the 7.2. At least 235 people have died in response to the earthquake. Among other actions from our administration, the Treasury Department waived sanctions to allow more relief to make it to the country. Caitlin Clark, the most popular player in the wnba, was playing a game against the Phoenix team. Who? Everyone. I mean, we all know the name of the Phoenix WNBA team, right? The Mercury, of course. And while she was laying on the court on her back, a player on the other team pushed down on her neck with a closed fist and put all of her weight right on Clark's throat. No foul was called in the play. The coach said it was egregious, clearly disrespectful. After the game, the Phoenix Mercury player was suspended for one game and fined $1,000. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast Politics by Faith, the great pill O'Reilly has your message of the day next.

Time now for the O'Reilly update message of the day. It is safe to say most Americans could not care less about British politics. Keir Stormer, who? We know the Royal Family, but that's about it. When I was in London three weeks ago and it was clear the UK was tottering garbage everywhere. Muslim neighborhoods, unpoliced, Jewish enclaves frightened. Presiding over the chaos was Prime Minister Starmer, who was then booted from office this week. The reason he was sacked is progressive politics. Stormer's tenure is called Starmanite socialism. Some facts, the UK has become a welfare state overrun with third world migrants, many of whom need government handouts. In fact, 441 billion a year is distributed to welfare seekers. That includes government run health care. But the Brits just take in 438 billion in taxes. So the treasury is quickly closing in on red ink. Taxes will have to go up the average British worker cannot afford it. And remember, Starmer and his pals spent little on defense and education. Handouts are the big expense. The USA, of course, is carrying a $30 trillion debt, but we have massive defense and school expenditures. The UK and other European countries hide behind us. So Starmer is out. Americans don't care, but it is very Instructive. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billorilly.com, billoriley.com name

Michael Schottel, Leland, N.C. i'm a proud American, but these far left loons that have been winning elections recently aren't. Which leads me to ask if these people are even qualified to hold federal office. Private citizen, per the First Amendment, can spout off about anything. But if you're elected, you have to take an oath to uphold the Constitution. Good question. You can take your oath and you can say, I'm upholding the Constitution. Because that's what they do. Now, you may not think they're doing it. I think insurrection isn't upholding the Constitution, but people are going to justify whatever they do. It's called rationalization. AFR Concierge member we hope you please with the program since Anthony Fauci received a pardon, who signed it?

The auto pen.

Can president cancel that part?
Bill O'Reilly
No.

And the federal courts won't cancel it either. And nobody knows what sort of pen because it won't say. Maybe there'll be a whistleblower or something.

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. 81 years ago, the armed forces of the United States defeated The Empire of Japan on the island of Okinawa, the crucial victory accelerated the Allies advance towards Tokyo. And here is the story. Okinawa, a narrow territory between the Japanese homeland and Taiwan, was critical for the American invasion. The Japanese knew they could not repel the Allied landings on the beach of the island. Instead, they conceded the northern half, creating an elaborate interlocking network of caves, tunnels and fortified ridges on higher ground. On April 1, 1945, U.S. marines arrived in Okinawa. For the next two months, they fought for every inch of terrain. Battles took place on the ocean, airfields, dense forests, rugged mountains. At sea, the US Fleet faced the largest coordinated kamikaze attacks of the war. Nearly 2,000 suicide pilots sank 36 Allied ships and damaged hundreds more, making it the costliest naval campaign in U.S. history. On June 23, the Americans finally vanquished the Japanese. The casualty count on both sides was staggering. 12,000 US soldiers killed. 120,000 Japanese died in combat, 120,000. Another 150,000 civilians perished, but few know

what happened to them.

In total, more than 100,000Americans died in the Pacific theater of World War II. The sheer brutality heavily influenced President Truman's decision to drop the atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. And here's something else you might not know. The Americans controlled Okinawa for decades. The territory was returned to Japan in May 1972 as a gesture of peace and goodwill between the two nations. Today, Okinawa is a thriving place. The island is home to tropical beaches, wealthy tourists, booming high tech economy. But the American military does retain a presence there. Hello, China. Back in a moment.
Shingles Patient/Testimonial
I didn't think the pain from the shingles rash would affect simple everyday tasks like bathing, getting dressed, or even walking around. I was wrong though. Not everyone at risk will develop it. 99% of people over the age of 50 already have the virus that causes shingles and it could reactivate at any time. I developed it and the blistering rash lasted for weeks. Don't learn the hard way like I did. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Today, sponsored by GSK,
