Standby for the O'Reilly Update Morning Edition on this Friday. It is August and vacation time is upon us, but not for President Trump. I understand he did plan to take two weeks off in August, but not now. That could be because of China. He's got a lot of tariff stuff going on. Putin is a lot on his plate, as everybody knows. But for you and me, we got to take a little time off, right? Because if we do not, we become mentally exhausted, cranky, not as efficient as we could be. Now, a lot of people, they think they have to do all kinds of stuff on vacation. Now if you have urchins, yeah, they're going to want to go to the amusement park and Disney World or to the beach or they're going to want to have fun and to be kind as a parent, you got to play into that. But if you don't have dependent kids, you don't really have to do that much on vacation to get a lot out of it. I take four or five books and I read, I would say a significant amount of time. I take entertaining books. Books I know are not going to be boring. Right. Also, I go in the ocean. I'm a former lifeguard water safety instructor. I like the ocean. I paddle around, ride in a few waves, whatever it may be, I take it easy. That is the best kind of vacation and I hope you have a good one. Back in a moment. Release Date: August 1, 2025
Host: Bill O'Reilly
In the August 1st edition of the O'Reilly Update Morning Edition, Bill O'Reilly delves into the importance of taking meaningful vacations to maintain mental health and personal efficiency. He emphasizes that taking time off is crucial to prevent mental exhaustion and maintain productivity.
“If we do not [take time off], we become mentally exhausted, cranky, not as efficient as we could be.”
[02:15]
O'Reilly acknowledges that the approach to vacation can vary depending on personal circumstances, particularly whether one has dependent children. For parents, ensuring that children have an enjoyable experience is paramount, often involving trips to amusement parks, Disney World, beaches, or other fun activities.
“If you have little ones, they're going to want to go to the amusement park and Disney World or to the beach or they're going to want to have fun and to be kind as a parent, you got to play into that.”
[03:10]
However, he contrasts this with the experience of individuals without dependent children, who may opt for a more relaxed vacation schedule without the need for constant activity.
Bill O'Reilly shares his personal strategies for making the most of his vacations. He prioritizes relaxation and personal enjoyment over structured activities, allowing himself to truly unwind.
“I take four or five books and I read, I would say a significant amount of time. I take entertaining books. Books I know are not going to be boring.”
[04:45]
O'Reilly, a former lifeguard and water safety instructor, also highlights his love for the ocean as a key component of his relaxation regimen. He enjoys activities such as paddling and riding waves, which help him disconnect and rejuvenate.
“I go in the ocean. I'm a former lifeguard water safety instructor. I like the ocean. I paddle around, ride in a few waves, whatever it may be, I take it easy.”
[06:00]
He underscores the value of a simple, low-stress vacation, advocating for activities that foster relaxation and mental clarity.
Bill O'Reilly briefly touches upon current political events, specifically addressing President Donald Trump's vacation plans. He notes that while Trump had initially intended to take two weeks off in August, unforeseen circumstances related to international trade tensions with China and ongoing tariff issues have altered those plans.
“It is August and vacation time is upon us, but not for President Trump. I understand he did plan to take two weeks off in August, but not now. That could be because of China. He's got a lot of tariff stuff going on.”
[07:30]
Additionally, O'Reilly mentions President Vladimir Putin, suggesting that the Russian leader has significant matters occupying his attention, although details are sparse.
“Putin is a lot on his plate, as everybody knows.”
[08:10]
These observations provide listeners with a snapshot of the interplay between personal time off and the demands of political leadership amid international challenges.
In this episode of O'Reilly Update Morning Edition, Bill O'Reilly effectively balances personal advice on taking meaningful vacations with brief insights into current political happenings.
