Morning Edition on this Tuesday, perhaps the biggest success of Trump 2 has been shutting down Biden's open border, an insane policy that will cost Americans trillions of dollars, not to mention all the violence from foreign criminals. But President Trump needs to take one more step. If he wants to maximize his problem solving legacy, he should implore Congress to pass a tough but compassionate new immigration law. It is long overdue because both parties exploit the undocumented migrant situation. Meantime, any serious effort to protect the country from harm has been neglected because pinheads from both parties do not have the guts to do the right thing. Here's what a new law might contain. Increased green cards, working papers for specific industries like agriculture and hospitality. All undocumented people already here would have to register with the Department of homeland security within 90 days. Their situations would then be reviewed by immigration judges online. Humane visas would be issued to folks who deserve them. If you do not register, immediate deportation. All asylum applicants would have to wait outside the usa. Finally, a well defined pathway for foreigners who want to become American citizens. Part of that would be military or civilian public service. If President Trump would champion those things, pressure would be enormous for Congress to finally honor the true legacy of the country, fairness and compassion. Back after this. In this brief “Morning Edition” of Bill O’Reilly's No Spin News and Analysis, O’Reilly focuses on the state of U.S. immigration policy, evaluating the impact of President Trump’s administration on border security and outlining what he believes should be the next legislative steps for comprehensive immigration reform. O'Reilly presses for a tough but compassionate new immigration law that would fix systemic problems exploited by both political parties. He presents a framework for reform, emphasizing fairness, compassion, and increased personal responsibility among undocumented immigrants.
O’Reilly lays out specific policy ideas he believes should be included in a new law:

On Policy’s Ultimate Purpose:
“Pressure would be enormous for Congress to finally honor the true legacy of the country, fairness and compassion.”

He lays out a detailed, stepwise framework targeting both economic needs and national security, while lambasting both parties for failing the American people on this issue. Throughout the piece, O’Reilly maintains a tone of urgency and directness, calling for a solution that combines “toughness” and “compassion” as the true American legacy.
