Bill O'Reilly here, and I'm warming up. Standby for the O'Reilly Update Morning Edition on this Friday. If you have any friends or acquaintances that like communism, all you need to do is point to Cuba. It is an impoverished nation. 90% of the people there cannot really make a living. Government has to hand out ration cards for food, energy, things like that. And this has been going on since 1959. No progress in Cuba, a communist country. So why would anyone want to impose communism anywhere, including America? But we have a growing socialist and communist movement here. It is based on enormous government giving people who don't have very much free stuff. You've heard it before. That has an attraction for people who do not want to compete in a capitalistic society where you have to earn your way, you have to go to work, perform well, and sometimes do better than your neighbor. You are not sharing the land as the 1960s philosophy once espoused. Cuba is a disaster. So is communism. Back in a moment.

Hey, this is Mike Slater. I have a podcast called Politics by Faith. I would love for you to listen. We take the news of the day and we run it through the Bible. What does the Bible have to say about this? Because there's nothing new under the sun. You read the headlines. Everything's all crazy, world's coming to an end. It's all in the Bible. And after every episode, hopefully you leave with a proper perspective and a biblical piece. Please join us wherever you listen to podcasts and we also have a YouTube page as well. that is the Morning O'Reilly update. More analysis later on.
In this succinct Morning Edition, Bill O’Reilly spotlights the failures of communism—using Cuba as a prime example—to critique growing socialist and communist movements within the United States. He contrasts the harsh economic realities in Cuba with the incentives of America’s capitalist system, warning against policies that favor government handouts over personal initiative.
On Cuba’s economic plight:
“90% of the people there cannot really make a living. Government has to hand out ration cards for food, energy, things like that.” (00:13, Bill O’Reilly)
On the allure of socialism:
“That has an attraction for people who do not want to compete in a capitalistic society where you have to earn your way.” (00:44, Bill O’Reilly)
On historical and current realities:
“Cuba is a disaster. So is communism.” (01:01, Bill O'Reilly)
Bill O’Reilly uses a straightforward, assertive tone, relying on real-world examples and common sense arguments. He frames his analysis as “No Spin, Just Facts,” emphasizing practical implications and warning against utopian economic philosophies.
Note: The episode is brief, staying focused on the main theme without diversions or extended discussion. Advertisements and outro segments have not been included.
