On this Monday, we might be looking at a summer of disenchantment. I hope not. I want everybody to have a nice time this summer. We all deserve three months of calm. I don't know whether President Trump can relax a little bit. I'm not sure that calm is even possible right now in America, particularly with the midterm elections in November. But anyway, there are a lot of working class Americans who don't have much money. That's it. That's the key in our country. Money is power. Money is protection. Money can buy you a sense of security. If you do not have any money, you are powerless. And the Democratic Party is appealing to those voters. There are millions of them. Sometimes it's their own fault. They don't have any money. They're ill educated, they're lazy. They're addicted. They don't care, whatever it may be. But other times, it's just not their fault. And that's why we have safety nets. I don't know which way the summer is going to go. I hope we have calm. I really do. Back in a moment.

Episode: O'Reilly Update Morning Edition
Date: May 25, 2026
Host: Bill O’Reilly
In this morning’s episode, Bill O’Reilly reflects on the possible mood in America as the nation heads into the summer of 2026. He examines the economic unease facing working-class Americans, the intersection of politics and poverty leading up to the midterm elections, and the factors that contribute to financial vulnerability. O’Reilly offers his signature direct commentary, balancing skepticism about political solutions with concern for national well-being.
On American Restlessness:
"I'm not sure that calm is even possible right now in America, particularly with the midterm elections in November." (00:14)
On the Realities of Working-Class Life:
"Money is power. Money is protection. Money can buy you a sense of security. If you do not have any money, you are powerless." (00:26)
On the Democratic Coalition:
"And the Democratic Party is appealing to those voters. There are millions of them." (00:36)
On Reasons for Poverty:
"Sometimes it's their own fault... But other times, it's just not their fault. And that's why we have safety nets." (00:39)
O’Reilly’s delivery is characteristically candid, combining concern for ordinary Americans with skepticism about both personal and systemic solutions. He refrains from sugarcoating, instead offering a direct appraisal of the economic and political landscape as summer 2026 begins.
