Bill O'Reilly here and I'm warming up. Standby for the O'Reilly update. Morning edition. On this Thursday, the Justice Department is looking at 95 year old George Soros for possible criminal activity. The theory is that old George has donated money to radical left groups that have embraced violence. If charged, Soros could potentially face RICO statutes that he funded criminal enterprises. The Soros lawyers, of course, deny all wrongdoing and this would be a very difficult case to prove. But George has powerful enemies in Washington right now. Born in Hungary, Soros is an American citizen. Estimated wealth stands at about 7.5 billion according to Forbes magazine. Over the years, the financier has given away an estimated 15 billion mainly to far left groups. He donated $500,000 to help Joe Biden get elected president, the largest amount Biden has ever received. To be fair, the record shows that George Soros has also given substantial money to children's charities. The political Soros money has done substantial damage to America. He's funded radical DAs like Kim Fox in Chicago, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, George Gaston in Los Angeles. These people have allowed violent crime to surge. I've been reporting on Soros for three decades. Still can't figure out why he wants soft on crime policies as well as anti capitalist politicians. But he does. No question. However, that's not a crime, but a criminal referral will hurt him. Will it happen? Good chance. Back in a moment.

That is the Morning O'Reilly update. More analysis later on.
Host: Bill O'Reilly
Published: October 2, 2025
In this concise Morning Edition, Bill O’Reilly discusses the Department of Justice’s investigation into George Soros, the billionaire financier and philanthropist. O’Reilly analyzes the legal and political ramifications of the probe, highlights Soros’s political influence, and shares his perspective on Soros’s controversial donations to left-wing causes and officials.
Justice Department Investigation: O'Reilly reports that the DOJ is exploring possible criminal activity by 95-year-old George Soros, specifically the theory that Soros donated money to radical leftist groups linked to violence.
Potential Charges: If charged, Soros could potentially face prosecution under RICO statutes for allegedly funding criminal enterprises.
Legal Hurdles: O'Reilly notes that Soros’s lawyers deny wrongdoing and says proving such a case would be very difficult.
"This would be a very difficult case to prove. But George has powerful enemies in Washington right now." — Bill O'Reilly [00:27]
Background: Soros, born in Hungary, is an American citizen. Forbes estimates his wealth at $7.5 billion; he is said to have donated around $15 billion, mainly to "far left groups."
Political Contributions: Soros’s $500,000 donation to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign is cited as the largest Biden received.
Charitable Giving: O’Reilly acknowledges that Soros has also contributed substantial sums to children’s charities.
"To be fair, the record shows that George Soros has also given substantial money to children's charities." — Bill O'Reilly [00:47]
Influence on District Attorneys: O’Reilly points out that Soros has funded campaigns for "radical DAs" such as Kim Foxx (Chicago), Larry Krasner (Philadelphia), and George Gascón (Los Angeles).
Crime Policy Critique: According to O’Reilly, these DAs have "allowed violent crime to surge" in their jurisdictions due to soft-on-crime policies.
"The political Soros money has done substantial damage to America. He's funded radical DAs like Kim Fox in Chicago, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, George Gaston in Los Angeles. These people have allowed violent crime to surge." — Bill O'Reilly [01:01]
O’Reilly mentions that he’s been reporting on Soros for decades and admits he still cannot understand Soros's motivation for supporting certain policies and candidates.
"I've been reporting on Soros for three decades. Still can't figure out why he wants soft on crime policies as well as anti capitalist politicians. But he does. No question." — Bill O'Reilly [01:14]
O’Reilly distinguishes between legal and political actions, stating Soros’s choices are not crimes but notes a criminal referral, if made, will nonetheless harm Soros.
"However, that's not a crime, but a criminal referral will hurt him. Will it happen? Good chance." — Bill O'Reilly [01:24]
On Legal Complexity:
"This would be a very difficult case to prove. But George has powerful enemies in Washington right now." — Bill O'Reilly [00:27]
On Soros’s Mixed Legacy:
"To be fair, the record shows that George Soros has also given substantial money to children's charities." — Bill O'Reilly [00:47]
