Bill O'Reilly
Hey, Bill O'Reilly here. Welcome to the no Spin News for Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Stand up for your country. It is liberation Day in America according to President Trump. Economic liberation, that is. President gave a pretty, I would say that it was one of his best presentations today about the tariff situation. And the reason it was worthy in my estimation is because he kept it simple and the facts that he presented with a little bit of wiggle room because it's complicated. We're pretty much right on. I couldn't check them all, fact check them all that fast, but it's pretty accurate. And tomorrow we'll go over in the talking points memoir, all of the sniping that will go on tonight and in the newspapers about how bad Trump is for Americans and on and on and on. But the intent, this is important, of what President Trump is trying to do is fair. There's no doubt that countries all over the world taking advantage of the United States, no doubt about that. There's no other argument. You cannot counter that argument. And once you get in a position where China is our rival and China is benefiting from trade to the United States far more than we're benefiting trade from them, you got to look at this. We don't trade with Iran much. That's not a factor. Russia doesn't do a lot of work over here, but China does and then the EU does. And what I liked about the speech was that Donald Trump brought out a chart. And I have to get a little credit for this because I told, I didn't tell. I suggested to him and Elon Musk, when you make a complicated point, use a chart. Okay. And I didn't come up with that concept. Karl Rove did. Remember Karl Rove at the little white thing? Got annoying after a while. But when you have an illustration like that, it slows everything down and people can focus in on what you're saying. Okay, so the talking points memo is whether this is good or bad for you, we all need money. That's where we start. We all need money. And in America, you can hit it really big. I have, but I worked my butt off, I got educated, I obeyed the law, and I prospered. If I can do it, anyone can do it. And that is why I believe this is a noble nation. But I understand how hard it is. And with manufacturing jobs declining because companies, large companies, take their plants and put them in Mexico, in China, in places where they don't pay high salaries, that makes it harder and harder and harder for people to make a good living. You can get by in America, but to prosper, to build assets, it's much harder. And the more that we make here, the more manufacturing that happens, the quicker that's going to rise and offer more opportunity. So diversity, equity, and inclusion. All right, dei, go back to that. Well, inclusion is you. And giving you a pathway to success. That's what Trump's trying to do. There's no malevolence here on his part. Sometimes there is, and we'll talk about that a little later on in this broadcast. You know, Trump is a little revenge motivated. This isn't. This is. Basically, he's a businessman. He sees this is not a good deal. And one further point before we get to the specifics. Presidents don't want to do this. Okay? So not since World War II has any. President Eisenhower kind of thought about it, but he didn't do it. No one has taken on the unfair trade policies across the world. No one. Why? Because we were prospering. Even with the unfair trade, America is still the richest country on earth. Trump just wants to make it richer. He wants to give more opportunity to people to build assets, which is noble, I think. Okay, let's get specific on this. So the first thing that he does is come out and go, it's Liberation Day and we're going to make America wealthy again. You know, the usual political rhetoric and heard it a million times, but he then zeros in on the bigger picture. Go.
Donald Trump
This is one of the most important days, in my opinion, in American history. It's our Declaration of Economic Independence. For years, hardworking American citizens were forced to sit on the sidelines as other nations got rich and powerful, much of it at our expense. But now it's our turn to prosper and in so doing use trillions and trillions of dollars to reduce our taxes and pay down our national debt. And it'll all happen very quickly.
Bill O'Reilly
I don't know if it's going to happen very quickly. The president should pray that it does because if it doesn't happen quickly and it doesn't benefit you, Democrats will win the midterms. So this is big. This is rolling that dice. Most other presidents would not do this. Biden didn't even think about it. Second SOUNDBITE SPECIFIC on automobiles, every American needs a car unless you live in New York City where the mask but you have to have transportation. Go.
Donald Trump
Toyota sells 1 million foreign made automobiles into the United States and General Motors sells almost none. Ford sells very little. None of our companies are allowed to go into other countries. And I say that friend and foe and in many cases the friend is worse than the foe in terms of trade.
Bill O'Reilly
There's no question that's true. South Korea, Japan, Germany, most of Europe block US Made cars from being sold in those countries by imposing huge taxes, vat, VAT taxes and charging outright tariffs like Japan. Okay, when I go to Japan in May, I'm not going to see any American cars. When I go to China, after I go to Japan, I'm going over to China. I'm not going to see any American cars and then I'm going to South Korea and I'm not going to see any American cars. There is a reason they're too expensive. Those governments make American cars too expensive. Final sound about I want to play for you is about China in particular, but food. We all need food, right? Go.
Donald Trump
And China charges American rice farmers an overquoter. It's called a tariff rate of 65%. South Korea charges 50. Actually they charge different from 50% to 513%. In Japan, our friend charges us 700% but that's because they don't want us selling rice. Another who can blame them? Madam Secretary, Agriculture. Great job you did on eggs, by the way. The egg prices came down 50% and that's true.
Bill O'Reilly
And gas prices coming down as well in America. So sum it up. I rely on physical precious metals like gold and silver to protect my savings. And the only company I trust is American Hartford Gold. Like a bull in a china shop, Donald Trump came in to drain the swamp in Washington, D.C. but with his bold reform and rejuvenation. So many legal questions nationwide, injunctions, are they constitutional? What's the deal with birthright citizenship? What about the administrative state? Can he actually clean the deep state and end the politicization of the federal bureaucracy? I'm Josh Hammer, host of America on Trial with Josh Hammer. Bill O'Reilly
Trump is correct. The speech was good. I don't know what is going to happen, but I hope it works. And that's the memo. Okay. Now on to cultural change. We reported yesterday that Disney is under investigation by the fcc, Federal Communications Commission because the Trump administration doesn't like Disney, because ABC News in particular, the view has pounded Trump for almost 10 years. And so it's payback time. And the pathway to that is dei, diversity, equity and inclusion. As you know, President Trump wrote an executive order, which is federal law, that DEI is out. If you are doing business with the federal government to any extent, and almost every major American corporation does business with the federal government somehow, some way. In Disney's case, it's abc, the network which uses the so called public airways. So the feds can go right after Disney. And that's what's happening. Some stats, looks like Disney's the most powerful corporation in the world. All right. Got about 235,000 people working for them, 74% of the workforce here in the USA. The worst. The rest, obviously, abroad. $91 billion of total revenue in 2024 for the Disney company. 94 billion. 91 billion. 91 billion. That's big. The CEO of Robert Iger, known as Bob. Hey, Bob. 74 years old, 41 million last year in salary. Can afford that tux, huh? Those new teeth. He can get anything he wants. And Disney is based in Burbank. Burbank, California, which isn't a problem because California is unbelievably left wing. But Disney has interest in Florida. And you remember when Disney asserted itself in Governor DeSantis dictum, Don't say gay in public school. That was massive brawl that worked against the Disney Corporation. But they injected themselves in liberal politics and that's what they did. But I contend that this is personal between President Trump and Disney and a lot of it is because of the view go.
Unnamed Female Speaker
I'm worried about mass deportation and internment camps. And I'm also worried about Elon Musk warning Americans to prepare for for temporary hardship. I'm surprised at the result, but I'm not surprised. As a woman of color, I was so hopeful that a mixed race woman married to a Jewish guy could be elected president of this country. I think a lot of us are still apoplectic that America voted against a qualified woman again and put in, you know, this racist misogynist and they don't care. And so it's like, so it's tiring. It is exhausting. It is disappointing. The guy was not born in this country who was born under apartheid in South Africa. So has that mentality going on. He was pro apartheid, as I understand.
Bill O'Reilly
It, and she had to correct that. But to call a president of the United States a racist misogynist. ABC is going to pay a price for that and they know these women are going to do it and they've been doing it for years. So that's what is going on. Joining us now from Atlanta is David Johnson. He is the CEO of Strategic Vision, that's a public relations group and he follows this kind of stuff, obviously. So a few years ago it came out an Axios report that the ABC executives in Burbank would not green light any project, entertainment project unless there was a 50% part of the project that was devoted to minority personnel. Do you remember that?
David Johnson
I do. And look, they're paying a price with that. We're seeing the movies are flopping all over. People aren't going there. Look at Snow White. That was just released and it was released with the DEI controversy. And it's going to be one of the biggest losses for Disney. I saw just a few moments ago that it's reported it's going to lose at least 1.1 and a half million dollars or more. It's a flop for it.
Bill O'Reilly
But couldn't that be because the movie is just terrible? Does it have to do with its DEI policies?
David Johnson
A lot of it is. That's what people think. And they refocused Disney did Snow White into a DEI story. We saw some of the Star wars shows as well on Disney. Plus viewers are running from it because they don't like their old classics now made politically correct with all these DEI policies. And that's one of Disney's problems. Disney's facing a lot of problems financially. Their shows are flopping, consumers are boycotting. Disney plus have lost a lot of subscribers. They're even not going to the theme parks anymore. And a lot of it is because families don't feel comfortable with Disney brand any longer because of its DEI policies.
Bill O'Reilly
Well, I'm going to disagree with you on a theme park since a lot of it's because it costs a thousand dollars a day to go there.
David Johnson
Well, that too, I agree.
Bill O'Reilly
Wiped out. And talk about dei, what's the I inclusion? Well, you're not including working class and poor families when you charge $1,000 a day. So I say the hypocrisy is just staggering. Now, we had Bernie Goldberg on a program yesterday and Goldberg asserts, and he put this on his website, bernardgoldberg.com that a government powerful Washington D.C. doesn't really have any right to go into a private company and tell them how to run their operation. Do you believe that?
David Johnson
Oh, I do. I mean, I'm a capitalist. I believe consumers decide the marketplace and if they don't like it, the company can go under. We're definitely seeing Donald Trump with this FCC investigation go away after the View. But ultimately it's going to be the consumer that decides. And right now Disney has numerous problems because the consumers don't like them.
Bill O'Reilly
And you believe that, that, that problems creatively from Disney are stemming from their insistence that they have a quota system for minorities. I'll tell you an interesting story. I've said this once before on this program. I know both Kelsey Grammer and Alec Baldwin. They shot a pilot for Disney. I guess it was six or seven years ago and the pilot was very funny. It was about two talk show hosts, but they reversed it. Grammer was the liberal and Baldwin was the conservative and they didn't pick it up. Disney, according to my sources, which are pretty good because there was no minority in the starring roles. Now if I had a bet, I would say it was true. I can't say with 100% certainty that's true. But that's what happened. I know that's what happened. They didn't pick it up. Now, if what you're asserting is that that is stemmed right across the line in their products because entertainment is supposed to be entertaining, not woke. I don't know of any woke projects that are really making it, come to think of it. Do you, do you know any woke Stuff that's making it in the entertainment industry.
David Johnson
No, I don't. In fact too, Disney tried to do a woke Star wars and they axed it instantly because Star wars fans rebelled against it. Especially when the so called Jedis used the pronouns. Okay, but no, it's not making it and Disney's suffering from it.
Bill O'Reilly
I'm trying to think of one woke project that has been successful. Final question is I think a lot of this is personal. Donald Trump, he's got a list, payback list. I think that's true. Do you?
David Johnson
I. Oh, I definitely do. And the problem for Disney is they're already weak. And this payback list might be the final nail in their coffin.
Bill O'Reilly
I don't see them going out of business. The structure's too big.
David Johnson
They're not going to go to business, but they're going to be diminished.
Bill O'Reilly
Yeah, they'll lose. They'll lose. Your kids still want to go. The kids don't know. And to the theme parks and all of that. Ms. Johnson, thanks very much. Really appreciate your expertise. Thank you. Okay, so as I said, there's the corporations in Burbank, California. They have no problem in California because it's crazy left there. And here's another example. So if you speed in San Francisco, you can get a ticket, but not all tickets are created equal. New law signed by Governor Newsom says that if you are in a certain category, you don't have to pay as much as people in another category. This is called the speed camera program. So the fines are issued from 500 to $500. Sorry, from 50 to $500. All right. You're caught on a speed camera. It depends how fast you're going. That should be the only litmus test for the fine. But no, if you are a homeless person, you're eligible for an 80% discount. If you are poor, 50% discount. So the San Francisco authorities look you up and they see what kind of circumstance you're in and that's how they find you.
Josh Hammer
Like a bull in a china shop. Donald Trump came in to drain the swamp in Washington D.C. but with his bold reform and rejuvenation agenda comes so many legal questions nationwide. Mike Slater
Hey, I'm Mike Slater. I have a podcast called Politics by Faith. We have a very simple mission. We take the news of the day and we filter it through a biblical worldview. So here's the big story of the day. What does the Bible say about it and how can we apply it? It's amazing. There's nothing new under the sun. The Bible has something to say about everything that's going on today. So basically, we thump the Bible over on Politics by Faith. I think we ought to keep MAGA going. And I think the way to take it beyond just a political victory into a true rebuilding and awakening and revival in America is to make sure that this is all grounded in biblical principles. And that's what we do on the podcast Politics by Faith. And you can subscribe to Politics by Faith wherever you're listening to the show right now.
Bill O'Reilly
So you could conceivably commit manslaughter in a vehicle, but if you're an indigent homeland person, you get 80% off your sentence. I mean, come on, you know. Border update, March 3 days ago, lowest southwest border crossings in history. That's big on Trump's resume. Okay? It went from 5,000 apprehensions a day under Joe Biden to 230 in March under Trump, 5,000 to 230. See, this is, you know, I have no doubt about it. So the border is under control right now. What is out of control is the migrant deportation, somewhat. So this is a interesting story. A guy named Kilmar Abrego Garcia, 29 years old, living in Maryland for a long time. Okay. He's been here in the United States for 14 years. He's undocumented still. But a judge ruled that he is an asylum seeker and ICE can't touch him. He is married to an American. He has a five year old child. He's gone. Okay. Mr. Garcia was deported, swept up in an ICE raid. He's in jail in El Salvador. The left wing press is going wild. Roll it, Nick.
TurboTax Sponsor
This is so harrowing on every level.
Bill O'Reilly
What is the.
Unnamed Female Speaker
And the White House explanation is simply Orwellian.
TurboTax Sponsor
Yes, it was a clerical error and.
Unnamed Female Speaker
Yes, he's there forever. Is that their current position?
Bill O'Reilly
No, that's not. Unfortunately, Homeland Security has not clarified what its position really is. And we're going to ask Tom Holman and I can almost guarantee you that Mr. Garcia will be returned to the USA. That is the right thing to do. You don't deport a man who has a stay from a federal judge because he's seeking asylum, who has an American wife. And a five year old daughter, you know, and Holman can correct that and he will and we will get that done. So my producers will call Homan's office and say, when is Mr. Garcia coming back? Because it was a mistake and the Trump administration admits it was a mistake. So let's get him back. Let's do the right thing. But the overview is if you're going to have mass deportations of criminals, you're going to get some non criminals swept up in that. We've told you. And the press is actively seeking every single mistake. Every mistake and blowing it up. Because the left wing hate Trump press doesn't want the criminal migrants deported. They don't want it. Not because there's public safety. No, it's because if Trump is successful that that helps Trump. They put their hatred of Trump above the welfare of Americans and there's no question they do. Anyway, I'm making it my task to return Mr. Garcia to the United States. Trump is also after these law firms. So the latest one is Wilkie Farr and Gallagher. This is where Kamala Harris husband works. Doug Imoff, he works for that firm. So that firm was deeply involved in trying to accuse Donald Trump of insurrection on January 6th. Okay, pretty big, right? So Wilkie Farr and Gallagher actually had lawyers and investigators trying to pin the Capitol riot on President Trump. Trump has remembered. So Wilkie Farr and Gallagher can't do any business to the federal government. And they're in D.C. and that's a lot of their business. So what did Doug Imhoff's law firm do? They fold it. They're going to do a whopping $100 million in pro bono work for causes that the Trump administration asked them to do. $100 million. Trump wins. Now Im off. Are you going to quit there, Doug? What are you going to do? Because Imma doesn't like this. So we're watching that story for you. Dominoes are falling. Florida election results, no surprise here. We knew the two Republicans were going to win. Jimmy Petronas and Randy Fine. And it is now 220 Republicans to 213 Democrats in the House of Representatives. That's a pretty good cushion for Donald Trump. But he's going to lose it if the economy goes south. Obviously the midterms are a year and a half away. And that's what this tariff stuff's all about. A lot on the line. And you have Elise Stefanik in New York. She will be reelected and I'll give Trump another one. So the House looks to be Pretty safe for Donald Trump. Senate, you got three senators, Murkowski, Collins, and our pal Mitch McConnell. They hate Trump. I don't know if I'm being fair to Susan Collins in Maine. I don't know if she hates him, but she's certainly not a supporter. Murkowski and McConnell hate him. So that's three Republican senators. A little tight there. Wisconsin is now a blue state. I told Sean Hannity on this radio program. And it's always worth listening to. You go to billorilly.com we have it for you every week. I do Wednesdays with Hannity. Wisconsin is a blue state now. So they elected a liberal to the Supreme Court there. They will gerrymander their districts and they will become a liberal state. Wisconsin did pass voter id, which is good. But you can forget about Wisconsin being a swing state. It's not going to swing anymore. It's a blue state. 10 electoral votes. Smart life. This is a very interesting story. Sudan and Mexico, they have the biggest child obesity problem in the Western Hemisphere. A third of Mexican children are chubby. They're really obese. But I'm being kind of nice. So Mexico has banned junk food in schools. It's against the law. So food that has sugar, candy, chips, nachos, ice cream, gone. All right. And they're trying to send a message that you got to eat good food. If you're a kid and the kids don't want to eat good food, they want to eat junk. That's not just Mexican kids, that's every kid. But Mexico passed a law about it. Population of Mexico is 130 million. Population in the United States is 335 million. We have not quite as big a problem, but almost. And I believe the federal government has got to say to public schools, no more junk food. Can't have it in the school. Just like the cell phones, when the class is in, you can't have cell phone. Cafeteria, can't have junk food. All right. Because this obesity epidemic, and if you, if you get it as a kid, chances are you're going to keep it as an adult, is just killing the health care system with diabetes. And all the stats are unbelievable. Now, I'm not a big fan of Robert Kennedy Jr. I do not like the man. But he is absolutely right about nutrition, 100% right. U.S. news and World Report is out of business as far as a magazine is concerned. But they are online. They have selected the 10 states with the healthiest populations. Here they are, number one, Massachusetts. Then Jersey, Hawaii, California, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maryland Colorado, Vermont, what do they all have in common? What good health care. Massachusetts got amazing health care system. So does New York. They have this Ken Langone guy, the Home Depot guy. He has really done an amazing job helping people. So if you live in a state that invests money in health care, good facilities, you're going to have a healthier population. Yeah, okay, maybe in California they jog more than they might in Mississippi, but that's not really it. So let me give you a personal example. And you know, this is attached to the Smart Life junk food stuff. So in April, April is my month to get all the medical stuff done. Thank God. And I mean that literally because at my age I should be in, you know, a box someplace or a jar or at least driving around in a golf cart. I'm pretty healthy. I can do pretty much what I've always done and I can move it when I go out for the power walks. And I don't have a lot of aches and pains, thank God. But the month of April, I visit all of my doctors, dermatologist, internist, all of that. Okay? Not because I have to, because once a year I want a full blown report, okay? That is what keeps you healthy. Knocking down this stuff before it comes out. I can't emphasize this to you enough. That's called preventative medicine. And the states that you just saw have the best systems. And Medicare covers a lot of it, all right? And Medicaid, if you don't have a lot of money, that covers you. But you have to investigate it. You have to know what your options are. And here's another Smart Life tip for you seniors. Every state in the Union has a senior citizen office in the state capitol. And they have programs to help older people. It's elder care or lawyers for older people, whatever. Know what you are entitled to. I paid enormous amount of tax in New York state. Enormous. And I knew I have. This is what I'm entitled to by the state. You should be looking at that before anything happens. Stay in history. April 2, 1992, John Gotti goes down. Heinous, terrible person. 33 years ago today, John Gotti was the head of the Gambino crime family. Assassinated. Paul Castellano, not him himself, but his guys. In December 1985, he took over. He was charged with a variety of crimes, lots of trials. And Gotti and his boys just bribed the jurors. They said they were going to get killed and their whole family would die. So the jurors let him off. Time and time and time Again. And Gotti was called the Teflon Don because he was never convicted. Even though he did it. Everybody in New York knew he was killing people and doing terrible things. Finally, a guy named Sammy the Bull Gravano got caught doing something and turned against Gotti, testified against him. Gotti was convicted 33 years ago today. Okay. Later on, he was sentenced to life in prison without parole. He was convicted of murder, five counts and racketeering. He sold narcotics. He did. You know the worst. And then John Gotti died in prison painfully of cancer. Don't feel sorry for him. 61 years old, but he went down today 33 years ago. Boy, doesn't feel like it was up that long ago. Okay, I'm going to prove that this Trump thing about running for third term is bogus in a moment. Okay? New poll. You gov. You gov, 3500 US adults. Do you think Donald Trump will attempt to serve a serve term? 56% say yes. 28% say no. 15 don't. Do you think Donald Trump should be allowed to serve a third term? 20% yes. 69% no. I'd be no. I don't want that. I don't think that's good for the country. So Trump gave an interview to our pal Cheryl Atkinson last September. Roll that.
TurboTax Sponsor
If you're not successful this time, do you see yourself running again in four years?
Donald Trump
No, I don't. No, I don't. I think that that will be. That will be it. I don't see that at all now.
Bill O'Reilly
It's a little bit different, but it really isn't. And I've talked to the President about this personally. He's not going to defy the Constitution. He's tired now and you would be, too. All he's doing, he's giving it his best shot on the second term, and that's going to be it. And if you would like to bet me we ought to set that up because I could raise a lot of money for charity if you guys think I'm wrong, I'll bet you. Okay. We will have reaction to the Liberation T tariff thing tomorrow from the press. That should be pretty amusing, right? Remember, the press wants Trump to fail. They don't care how many Americans get hurt in a process, they want them to fail. Thank you for watching and listening to the no Spin news tonight. We'll see you tomorrow.
