Thank you, Bill. It is Wednesday, April 23, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America. Food dies, gone pope viewing hours, JD In India and fires in New Jersey. It's all coming up next. And Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, eight petroleum based synthetic dyes will be phased out of American food, according to RFK Jr. And the head of the FDA, Marty McCary, over the next coming months, the FDA will revoke authorization for two synthetic food dyes, citrus red number two and Orange B. The other six dyes will be phased out over time. That's green number three, red number 40, yellow number five, yellow number six, blue number one and blue number two. Makary said for the last 50 years, American children have increasingly been living in a toxic soup of synthetic chemicals. RFK Jr said, We are exploring every tool in the toolbox to make sure this gets done very quickly. The pope's funeral is on Saturday at 10am in St. Peter's Square. The public viewing of Pope Francis begins today at 11 o'clock local time to midnight again tomorrow 7am to midnight and Friday 7am to 7pm the funeral is going to be outside so mourners can fill that open space. Pope Francis is going to be the first pope in over a century to be buried outside of the Vatican. He's going to be buried at Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome. Many world leaders will attend the funeral on Saturday, including President Donald Trump. Putin will not be there because the International Criminal Court has an arrest warrant out for him. So when he if he were to land in Italy, Italy would be obligated to detain him. J.D. vance gave a big speech in India, strengthening the ties between our two nations. JD's wife, her parents are from India. He said both countries need to unlock their energy reserves. India has many rare earth metals and both countries need to do this to grow and prosper and help each other. China was never mentioned, but of course looms in the background. J.D. vance said critics have attacked my president, President Trump, for starting a trade war in an effort to bring back jobs in the past. But nothing could be further from the truth. He seeks to rebalance global trades, that America with friends like India can build a future worth having for all of our people together. The White House has received trade deal proposals from 18 nations around the world. Evacuations in New Jersey started yesterday as of last night, closing 17 miles of the New Jersey Parkway, threatening thousands of structures. Multiple shelters have been set up for people fleeing the fire. Tens of thousands of people without power. Nearly 80% of the garden State is facing some level of drought. I'm Mike Slater. I host a podcast called Politics by Faith. You can download that anywhere you listen to podcasts. Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day next.

Time now for the O'Reilly update message of the Day on this Wednesday. There is just never a down day with Donald Trump in the White House. It's like New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Hyperactivity all over the place. Let's run down some post Easter important stuff. Stock market continues to wobble and almost 60% of Americans now say they are delaying major purchases. That has a recession feel. So this tariff business better start getting resolved. If trade deals happen soon, the markets will rocket and the president will have more power to force agreements in Ukraine and Iran. Also, his domestic agenda in Congress will have more clout. But if the stock market and the economy recede, Donald Trump will lose a tremendous amount of power. Now the small ball stuff like the guy in El Salvador should stop. Bring him back. Have The Justice Department present evidence to the immigration judge who's already assigned to his case. Due process is a good thing. Embarrassing the corrupt media is also good. If this guy is ms.13, the press will take a huge hit. Finally this week, we should all honor the humanity of Pope Francis, put migrant policies aside and applaud his compassion. Yet another good thing. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billorilly.com, billoriley.com, name in town if you wish to opine. Okay. To the mail. We got Ron Liotta, who's a premium member in Jacksonville, Florida. Bill, do you agree that anyone who enters the USA illegally is committing a federal crime? I hear a lot of mainstream news outlets say it's a civil crime and they shouldn't be arrested and removed. It is a civil crime. But there are courts, like traffic court. Okay, like tax court. But it is not a criminal offense to cross into this country illegally or overstay your visa. It should be in the new immigration law. Make it a criminal offense. Make everything a lot easier. Susan Bartle of Euro Beach, Florida, would you please address why all Democrats keep saying illegal aliens of constitutional rights? Because they do. Once you set foot on our soil, even if you are a foreign national, you are under our constitution. That is the fact. But there are different categories, of course. So executive order now, those gang members no constitutional rights are out of here by law. If they catch you at the border sneaking, it could turn you right around by law. Adjacent Voss, Katori, Japan Mr. O, could you please explain to me and the rest of your viewers why the United States should expand due process to undocumented immigrant gang members? Well, if they're categorized as terrorists, as we reported earlier, then we don't. But the Constitution says what the Constitution says and it must be obeyed or we have anarchy. C. Brzadowski Venice, Florida do you really believe Donald Trump knows what he's doing with his tariff policies? More than 14 trillion has been wiped out of the stock market. Take years for any recovery. No, won't. No. That market will snap back real fast if the tariff deals are made. And but the longer it goes on, the harder it's going to be to snap back in a moment something you might not know. Did you know that Fast Growing Trees is the biggest online nursery in the USA with thousands of different plants and more than 2 million happy customers? Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. 236 years ago today, George Washington and his wife Martha moved from Virginia to New York City. As George took office for the first time as United States president. Here is the story. After receiving word of his election by the Electoral college, George Washington and Martha left their Mount Vernon plantation on April 15. They arrived in the Big Apple one week later. Only then, it wasn't called the Big Apple. It was New York City. After the inauguration, George and Martha moved into their home on 1 Cherry Street. It was a modest townhouse, few bedrooms, drawing room, simple kitchen. They soon relocated to a more impressive mansion on Broadway. In total, the Washington spent just one year in Manhattan. 1790, the seat of the federal government was moved to Philadelphia until a permanent capitol could be constructed in the District of Columbia. Though their time in New York was short, it was not very pleasant. In the late 18th century, the city was a bustling metropolis of 50,000 people. The biggest town in the Western Hemisphere, New York was home to different religions, slaves, dozens of languages, brothels and taverns. Street crime was rampant. The alleys of lower Manhattan filled with horse manure, rats, thieves, garbage. Well, the first lady detested it all. Born into an aristocratic family in Virginia, Martha preferred an agrarian life. She hated crowds, scents, chaotic scenes. During one exchange, Martha Washington told a friend she felt as though she were a state prisoner to the federal government. The Washingtons finished their second term in Philadelphia, then returned to Mount Vernon in 1797. George died there two years later at the age of 67. Martha passed three years hence after that. a. Phase-Out of Synthetic Food Dyes
Mike Slater opens the news segment by addressing a significant development in American food safety regulations. According to RFK Jr., eight petroleum-based synthetic dyes will be phased out from American food products in the upcoming months. Marty McCary, the head of the FDA, announced that their agency would revoke authorization for dyes such as Citrus Red Number 2 and Orange B immediately, with six additional dyes to follow suit gradually.
“For the last 50 years, American children have increasingly been living in a toxic soup of synthetic chemicals,” said RFK Jr. [00:45].
b. Pope Francis Funeral Arrangements
The episode covers the solemn occasion of Pope Francis’s funeral. Scheduled for Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Square, the public viewing begins the day before and continues until Friday. Notably, Pope Francis will be the first pope in over a century to be buried outside the Vatican, specifically at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome.
“Pope Francis is going to be the first pope in over a century to be buried outside of the Vatican,” explained Mike Slater [01:30].
Prominent world leaders, including former President Donald Trump, are expected to attend. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin will not be present due to an existing arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court, which would obligate Italy to detain him upon arrival.
c. J.D. Vance Strengthens U.S.-India Ties
J.D. Vance delivered a pivotal speech in India aimed at bolstering the relationship between the United States and India. Emphasizing the mutual benefits, Vance highlighted the necessity for both nations to unlock their energy reserves and collaborate on rare earth metals, which are crucial for economic growth and technological advancement.
“Critics have attacked my president, President Trump, for starting a trade war in an effort to bring back jobs. But nothing could be further from the truth,” stated J.D. Vance [02:15].
Vance countered accusations against President Trump by asserting that the administration’s actions are designed to rebalance global trade and foster a cooperative future alongside partners like India.
d. New Jersey Wildfires and Evacuations
The latest reports indicate severe wildfires in New Jersey, prompting evacuations and the closure of 17 miles of the New Jersey Parkway. The fires have jeopardized thousands of structures, leading to the establishment of multiple shelters for displaced residents. Additionally, nearly 80% of New Jersey is grappling with drought conditions, exacerbating the wildfire crisis.
“Multiple shelters have been set up for people fleeing the fire. Tens of thousands of people without power,” Mike Slater reported [03:00].
Bill O’Reilly transitions into his personal commentary, focusing on the dynamic political landscape under Donald Trump's leadership.
a. Donald Trump's White House Activity
O’Reilly likens Trump’s presidency to the perpetual energy of New Orleans during Mardi Gras, suggesting constant activity without respite.
“There is just never a down day with Donald Trump in the White House. It's like New Orleans during Mardi Gras,” Bill O’Reilly remarked [03:35].
b. Economic Concerns: Stock Market and Tariffs
Expressing concern over the fluctuating stock market, O’Reilly notes that nearly 60% of Americans are postponing major purchases, signaling a possible recession.
“If trade deals happen soon, the markets will rocket and the president will have more power to force agreements,” he explained [04:00].
He underscores the importance of resolving tariff issues swiftly to stabilize the economy and enhance Trump’s leverage in foreign policy matters, particularly with Ukraine and Iran.
c. Immigration Policies
O’Reilly addresses immigration, advocating for stricter enforcement and due process. He criticizes the current handling of undocumented immigrants, emphasizing the need for the Justice Department to present evidence in court effectively.
“Embarrassing the corrupt media is also good. If this guy is MS-13, the press will take a huge hit,” O’Reilly asserted [04:45].
d. Tribute to Pope Francis
Concluding his message, O’Reilly calls for honoring Pope Francis's humanity, urging listeners to set aside migrant policies temporarily to recognize the compassion exemplified by the late pope.
“We should all honor the humanity of Pope Francis, put migrant policies aside and applaud his compassion,” he stated [05:10].
Bill O’Reilly engages with his audience by addressing questions and comments from listeners, providing his perspectives on pressing issues.
a. Illegal Immigration as a Federal Crime
Listener Ron Liotta from Jacksonville, Florida, questions the classification of illegal entry into the USA as a federal crime rather than a civil one. O’Reilly agrees, advocating for immigration law reforms that criminalize illegal border crossing and visa overstays.
“It should be in the new immigration law. Make it a criminal offense. Make everything a lot easier,” O’Reilly responded [06:20].
b. Democrats and Constitutional Rights for Illegal Aliens
Susan Bartle from Euro Beach, Florida, inquires why Democrats advocate for constitutional rights for illegal aliens. O’Reilly clarifies that while all individuals on U.S. soil are under the Constitution, certain categories, such as gang members, should be excluded from these protections.
“Those gang members no constitutional rights are out of here by law,” he explained [07:00].
c. Due Process for Undocumented Immigrant Gang Members
Katori from Japan seeks O’Reilly’s stance on expanding due process for undocumented immigrant gang members. O’Reilly emphasizes the importance of categorizing such individuals appropriately to avoid constitutional overreach.
“If they're categorized as terrorists, then we don't. But the Constitution says what the Constitution says,” O’Reilly asserted [07:45].
d. Trump’s Tariff Policies and the Stock Market
C. Brzadowski from Venice, Florida, challenges O’Reilly’s confidence in Trump’s tariff strategies, citing a significant stock market decline. O’Reilly maintains optimism, believing that resolving tariff disputes will lead to a rapid market recovery.
“That market will snap back real fast if the tariff deals are made,” O’Reilly confidently stated [08:30].
The episode concludes with a historical segment exploring George Washington’s brief presidency period in New York City.
a. Relocation to New York City
236 years ago, George Washington and his wife Martha moved from Mount Vernon, Virginia, to New York City following Washington’s election. They initially settled in a modest townhouse on Cherry Street before relocating to a grander mansion on Broadway.
“After receiving word of his election by the Electoral College, George Washington and Martha left their Mount Vernon plantation on April 15,” the segment narrated [09:00].
b. Challenges of Early New York
Despite New York being the largest city in the Western Hemisphere at the time, Martha Washington found the bustling metropolis overwhelming. The city was rife with crime, diverse cultures, and unsanitary conditions, which contrasted sharply with her agrarian background.
“Martha Washington told a friend she felt as though she were a state prisoner to the federal government,” the story highlighted [10:15].
c. Return to Mount Vernon and Legacy
After serving a year in Manhattan, the Washingtons moved to Philadelphia before permanently settling back at Mount Vernon in 1797. George Washington passed away two years later, leaving behind a legacy intertwined with the early administrative challenges of the United States.
“Though their time in New York was short, it was not very pleasant,” the segment concluded [11:00].
