Thank you, Bill. Here's what's happening this week in America. The law fair continues, released early and first pick of the draft. That's all coming up. Then Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, a federal judge in California barred the Trump administration from denying or conditioning the use of federal funds to sanctuary cities and states. The judge said that this preliminary injunction was necessary because the executive orders were unconstitutional. This was led by San Francisco and about a dozen other municipalities. They sued over a pair of executive orders that the president issued targeting local municipalities that limit cooperation with federal immigration efforts. This judge based in San Francisco, wrote that the defendants are restrained and enjoined from directly or indirectly taking any action to withhold, freeze or condition federal funds. Another judge, this one in D.C. in 120 page decision, blocked the Trump administration from requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote and ordering that election officials assess the citizenship of anyone who receives public assistance before allowing them to register. She also barred the Election Assistance Commission from withholding federal funds from states that did not comply with the order. Another federal judge banned the enforcement of Trump's executive order banning transgender people from serving in the military. The Pentagon also has resumed gender affirming care for transgender service members. Do you know how many transgender, how many transgender service members do you think there are in the military right now? It's believed over 4,000. The headline to this story says man who killed two teens in DUI crash to be released from prison early. The backstory is he drove 100 miles per hour and killed these two Americans. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, being released at three and a half years. But what that headline doesn't tell you is the man is a twice previously deported Mexican illegal alien with with multiple felony convictions in California prior to killing these two American teenagers. The Trump administration has told California that you better turn this guy over to ICE immediately when you release him from prison. In California, the first pick in the NFL draft yesterday went to the Tennessee Titans, selecting quarterback Cam Ward from Miami. He was fourth in the Heisman voting last year. Cam, Cam Ward wrote on Twitter after being selected forever humble because I know what it's like to be at the bottom. The second pick went to the Jacksonville Jaguars with Travis Hunter from Colorado and the third pick, New York Giants Abdul Carter from Penn State. I'm Mike Slater. I host a podcast called Politics by faith. Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day next.

There is just never a down day with Donald Trump in the White House. It's like New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Hyperactivity all over the place. Let's run down some post Easter important stuff. Stock market continues to wobble and almost 60% of Americans now say they are delaying major purchases. That has a recession feel. So this tariff business better start getting resolved. If trade deals happen soon, the markets will rocket and the president will have more power to force agreements in Ukraine and Iran. Also, if his domestic agenda in Congress will have more clout. But if the stock market and the economy recede, Donald Trump will lose a tremendous amount of power. Now the small ball stuff like the guy in El Salvador should stop. Bring him back. Have the Justice Department present evidence to the immigration judge who's already assigned to his case. Due process is a good thing. Embarrassing the corrupt media is also good. If this guy is ms.13, the press will take a huge hit. Finally this week, we should all honor the humanity of Pope Francis, put migrant policies aside and applaud his compassion. Yet another good thing. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billoriley.com, billoriley.com name in town if you wish to opine. Okay. To the mail. We got Ron Liotta, who's a premium member in Jacksonville, Florida. Bill, do you agree that anyone who enters the USA illegally is committing a federal crime? I hear a lot of mainstream news outlets say it's a civil crime and they shouldn't be arrested and removed. It is a civil crime. But there are courts, like traffic court. Okay, like tax court. But it is not a criminal offense to cross into this country illegally or overstay your visa. It should be in the new immigration law. Make it a criminal offense. Make everything a lot easier. Susan Bartle of Vero Beach, Florida, would you please address why all Democrats keep saying illegal aliens of constitutional rights? Because they do. Once you set foot on our soil, even if you are a foreign national, you are under our constitution. That is the fact. But there are different categories, of course. So executive order now, those gang members, no constitutional rights are out of here by law. If they catch you at the border, sneak it in, it could turn you right around. By law. Jason Voss, Katori, Japan. Mr. Oh, could you please explain to me and the rest of your viewers why the United States should expend due process to undocumented immigrant gang members? Well, if they're categorized as terrorists, as we reported earlier, then we don't. But the Constitution says what the Constitution says and it must be obeyed or we have anarchy. C. Brzadowski, Venice, Florida do you really believe Donald Trump knows what he's doing with his tariff policies? More than 14 trillion has been wiped out of the stock market. Take years for any recovery. No, it won't. No, that market will snap back real fast if the tariff deals are made. But the longer it goes on, the harder it's going to be to snap back in a moment, something you might not know.

Now, the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. The ongoing tariff situation, very difficult for many Americans to process. However, imposing high taxes on foreign products is causing big market swings that we can all understand. And there is fear. President Trump's primary goal is to reshape the entire economy. Throughout U.S. history, just one other president has successively shaken the capitalistic system. Here is the story behind Theodore Roosevelt and the robber Barons. Propelled by the Industrial Revolution after the Civil War, the United States quickly became a global superpower. Corporate titans called robber barons ruled almost the entire American economy. Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, JP Morgan controlled financing, steel, Wall street, oil, electricity, communications and railroads. Together, these barons own more than 40% of America's total GDP net worth $400 billion. But these were not generous men. They forced millions of American workers to toil in horrendous conditions. Tens of thousands died each year on dangerous oil fields, coal mines, construction sites, train yards. Most of those working for the barons earned less than a dollar a day, the modern equivalent of $10,000 a year. Enter President Roosevelt. Teddy took control of the White House after the assassination of William McKinley in 1901. He immediately sued the robber barons and totally filed 40 antitrust lawsuits against Rockefeller, Morgan and Carnegie. Three years later, the Supreme Court sided with TR the justices rule the barons ran illegal monopolies over America's most important industries. The companies were then divided up into hundreds of smaller operations across the land. And here's something else you might not know. Though the giant trusts were eventually dismantled, many of those companies remain the biggest organizations in America today. Survivors of the robber baron's financial empire include Exxon, Chevron, General Electric, JP Morgan Chase, US Steel and Con Edison. Back after this.

Summary of "The O'Reilly Update, April 26, 2025"
Podcast Information:
The episode begins with a poignant plea for the safe return of Lucia Blix, a 9-year-old child who went missing. Bill O'Reilly emphasizes the severity of the situation, stating, "Please let her come back home safely" (00:04). He highlights the meticulous nature of the kidnappers' actions on Thursdays and insinuates hidden secrets surrounding the case, mentioning, "The mother's hiding something. I know it" (00:20 - 00:22).
a. Sanctuary Cities and States
A federal judge in California has barred the Trump administration from denying or conditioning the use of federal funds to sanctuary cities and states. Bill O'Reilly discusses the preliminary injunction, noting, "The judge said that this preliminary injunction was necessary because the executive orders were unconstitutional" (01:10). This decision was spearheaded by San Francisco and approximately a dozen other municipalities in response to executive orders targeting local cooperation with federal immigration efforts.
b. Voter Registration and Citizenship Verification
Another significant ruling came from a judge in D.C., who issued a 120-page decision blocking the Trump administration from requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration. O'Reilly explains, "She also barred the Election Assistance Commission from withholding federal funds from states that did not comply with the order" (02:00). This measure aimed to prevent states from being penalized for not enforcing stringent voter verification, a move seen as part of broader efforts to influence election integrity.
c. Transgender Military Ban Lifted
Additionally, a federal judge has banned the enforcement of Trump's executive order that prohibited transgender individuals from serving in the military. O'Reilly highlights the Pentagon's resumption of gender-affirming care for transgender service members, questioning the current number by asking, "Do you know how many transgender, how many transgender service members do you think there are in the military right now?" (02:20). The estimated number exceeds 4,000.
d. Early Release Controversy
The episode touches on the early release of a man convicted of a DUI crash that killed two teens. O'Reilly points out, "The man is a twice previously deported Mexican illegal alien with multiple felony convictions in California prior to killing these two American teenagers" (02:50). He criticizes the Trump administration's directive to California to hand over the individual to ICE immediately upon release, emphasizing concerns over public safety and legal accountability.
Host Mike Slater provides an overview of the recent NFL draft:

Third Pick: New York Giants selected Abdul Carter from Penn State.
Slater also previews the upcoming segments, mentioning that Bill O'Reilly will deliver the message of the day (03:45).

Bill O'Reilly delivers his "Message of the Day," focusing on the current administration's impact and economic policies:
Economic Concerns: O'Reilly discusses the stock market's volatility and the fact that nearly 60% of Americans are delaying major purchases, signaling a recession. He asserts, "Donald Trump will lose a tremendous amount of power" if the economy continues to decline (09:50).
Tariff Policies: High tariffs on foreign products are causing significant market fluctuations. O'Reilly draws a parallel to Theodore Roosevelt's fight against the robber barons, stating, "President Trump's primary goal is to reshape the entire economy" (10:15). He emphasizes the historical context of economic reshaping and warns of potential long-term impacts on the stock market.
Immigration and Law Enforcement: O'Reilly criticizes the handling of immigration cases, especially those involving gang members. He advocates for bringing individuals back to face justice, asserting, "Due process is a good thing" (11:00).
Media Criticism and Pope Francis: He urges the audience to embarrass corrupt media practices and to honor Pope Francis for his compassion, setting aside migrant policies (11:30).
Bill O'Reilly addresses listener emails and opinions:
Ron Liotta from Jacksonville, Florida: Discusses the classification of illegal entry into the USA as a federal crime, pushing for changes in immigration law to make such offenses criminal rather than civil (12:20).
Susan Bartle from Vero Beach, Florida: Questions why Democrats insist on granting constitutional rights to illegal aliens. O'Reilly responds by affirming, "Once you set foot on our soil, even if you are a foreign national, you are under our constitution" (12:30).
Jason Voss from Katori, Japan: Challenges the notion of expending due process for undocumented immigrant gang members. O'Reilly reiterates the necessity of adhering to the Constitution to prevent anarchy (12:40).
C. Brzadowski from Venice, Florida: Expresses skepticism about Trump's tariff policies. O'Reilly counters by explaining the immediate and long-term effects of these policies on the economy, emphasizing potential market recovery if trade deals are resolved promptly (12:50).
In a detailed historical segment, O'Reilly draws parallels between President Trump and Theodore Roosevelt:
Robber Barons Era: He recounts how industrial titans like Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, and JP Morgan controlled vast sectors of the American economy during the Industrial Revolution, amassing over 40% of America's GDP (10:20).
Roosevelt's Antitrust Actions: Upon taking office in 1901, Theodore Roosevelt aggressively pursued antitrust lawsuits against these monopolies, leading to their dismantling by the Supreme Court (11:10). O'Reilly notes that many of these companies, despite being broken up, remain major entities today, including Exxon, Chevron, and General Electric (11:30).
Modern Implications: O'Reilly suggests that Trump's tariff policies aim to similarly reshape the American economy, drawing a direct line between historical and contemporary economic strategies (12:00).
