Thank you, Bill. It is Thursday, August 6, 2026. Here's what's happening today in America. Close call for the President, Perez Hilton, Puerto Rico, water ration and a first of its kind surgery. It's all coming up. And Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. First, Marine One, the helicopter that the president flies in came within less than one mile of an Envoy Air passenger flight on Tuesday. This after miscommunication between his crew and air traffic controllers at Ronald Reagan national airport. This was 2:30pm on Tuesday. The President was flying from the White House to Joint Base Andrews on the initial leg of a trip to la. By the way, this is the same trip to Los Angeles where someone was arrested for scouting out the area with a gun. Before taking off, the crew of Marine1 made three attempts to warn the controllers at Reagan Airport that they were three minutes away from taking off. Air traffic control did not hear it or something. The helicopter took off. It ultimately got within 0.8 miles and 700ft of vertical distance from the passenger jet. Perez Hilton, the longtime celebrity blogger was doing a TikTok live stream Kids warning here. I'm going to try to be as PG as possible. And engaged in horrific self harm over his whole body with a knife lasted for 30 minutes. His family posted a message saying we can confirm that Perez is receiving medical care and our family's focus right now is on his well being. Police arrived and said they tactically disengaged to get him the medical treatment he needed. Puerto Rico is ready to implement water rationing as they're in a drought. More than 180,000 customers will face 48 hour water cutoffs on an alternating schedule. July was the driest month on record since 120 years and it was the second hottest. It looks like it's going to be dry until September. The president of Puerto Rico's water and sewer system said large trucks would distribute potable water, prioritizing hospitals and residences for older people. This is nothing new for Puerto Rico. They rationed water back in 2020 and 2015. 400,000 customers getting water only every third day. And that had nothing to do with the drought. A baby successfully underwent the very first surgery of its kind in utero at 26 weeks of pregnancy. So at 20 weeks, this ultrasound found that the baby's intestines were developing outside of the body. This is in Texas. Usually babies born with this condition have to spend months in the NICU in the womb. The surgery was done putting the intestines back inside, sewed up the baby and then waited until 40 weeks. The folks don't know the basics of how President Trump makes a decision, for example, or why trends are happening in our society. Personal finance, artificial intelligence, social media, vaccine. Its origin dates back to Israel's 2006 war with Lebanon, where the terror network Hezbollah launch more than 5,000 missiles toward Tel Aviv. Here's how the system works. Hundreds of radar units spot incoming rockets, tracking their speed and path. Computers calculate where the projectiles will strike. If the target is empty land, the system does nothing. If it's heading toward a town or city, it orders an interception. Ground launchers fire tracking missiles which explode near the incoming rockets, destroying them in the air. In the year 2010, President Obama authorized 200 million to help develop the Iron Dome. Congress gave him another 225 million on August 6, 2014. Both bills pass with bipartisan support. Since 2023, the Iron Dome has destroyed 98% of the 50,000 bombs hurled at Israel. And here's something else you might not know. Today, the Dome is not very popular among progressives. Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar recently voted to block funding for Israel's defense. Last April, New York lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio Cortez addressed a forum hosted by the Democratic Socialists of America. There she was asked, quote, will you commit to voting no for any spending on arms for Israel, including the so called defensive capabilities? Her response? Yes.
