Thank you, Bill. It is Monday, February 2, 2026. Here's what's happening today in America. New work requirements, two officers killed, death to America and Melania documentary results. It's all coming up then. Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, new work requirements for SNAP went into effect yesterday. That's a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, food stamps. When this was announced a couple months ago, America learned that there are 42 million Americans on food stamps. There's way too many. But now the upper age limit for those who need to work in order to meet the work requirement was raised from 54 to now 64. This is all for able bodied adults without dependents. There was one exemption that has been lowered for those with dependents from 18 down to 14 years old. This doesn't affect that many of the 42 million people on food stamps. It's expected that over the next 10 years, 1.1 million people will lose benefits. But again, this is only able bodied adults. Two police officers were killed recently, one in Martin west, that's in west Tennessee. They were responding to calls of shots fired at a day's in. Police saw a car leave a gas station at 3am and the driver started shooting at the officer killed a 37 year old with three young children at home. Another police officer in Lawrenceville, Georgia, police recalled when someone reported fraud at a hotel. Officers arrived and this person drew a gun and shot both officers, murdered one of them, the others in critical but stable condition. Keep this in mind when you hear a lot of people lately criticizing law enforcement. Iranian lawmakers chanted death to America and death to Israel while dressed in the uniforms of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. This was during yesterday's parliamentary session. During this session, the IRGC flag was raised and a banner that said the Revolutionary Guard is the largest anti terrorism organization in the world. It's a long, wordy banner. It was displayed at the speaker's podium. The purpose of this session was to declare that the armies of Europe, the European countries are now considered terrorist groups. Iranian officials warned that any American strike, particularly one targeting leadership, would trigger immediate retaliation across the region. Trump's response was we have the biggest and strongest ships in the world over there, very close to them. Hopefully we will reach a deal. If we don't reach a deal, then we'll find out if he was right or not. We were promised by every media outlet that the Melania documentary would be a total flop. It was not domestically. Melania, already outgrossed by Jennifer Lawrence's in Stephen King's most recent movies and had a bigger opening weekend on fewer screens, about half the number of screens as Dwayne Johnson's latest movie on Rotten Tomatoes. The critics gave it a 10% rating, while the people gave it a 99% rating. The great Pill O'Reilly has your message of the day next.

Time now for the O'Reilly update. Message of the Day on this Monday. Murphy's Law is an Irish invention that says if it's possible for anything to go wrong, it will, especially when dealing with enormous problems. The Trump administration inherited around 15 million foreign nationals who were wandering around the country unsupervised because President Biden didn't care who entered the usa. Come on in. No waiting. Among the new arrivals were perhaps a million dangerous criminals, maybe more. Havoc followed in a stunning success. Mr. Trump's border people almost completely shut down the insane Biden open policy in less than a year. Of course, the hate Trump media largely ignored that success, as it did the Biden failure. This is the state of the American press today. But then after the border was pretty much closed, mayhem broke out. Rounding up millions of human beings who don't want to be rounded up has led to rebellion and death. Mistakes by the federal government are being made. Some local governments are actually rebelling against the country. How could this have happened? It is Murphy's Law to a tee. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billorilly.com billorilly.com name in town if you wish to opine now, let's go to the mail. Rafael Fusca, Lansdale, Pennsylvania. Can you explain why January 6th wasn't an insurrection in Minneapolis is? I can and I will on our YouTube station. But Raphael, you ought to know I chose the topic because of your letter. Tom me St. Louis in December. You predicted the left's desperate methods would only increase after the first of the year. You are proven correct. It's obvious they'll do anything for the next 10 months, anything to try to win that midterm. So it's going to be, it's going to be grizzly. Josh Sorens in Bakersfield, California, could retire Captain Mark Kelly, Senator Kelly. He's a captain in the Navy, be recalled into active duty and then court martialed. No. Okay. What Kelly can do is be busted down in rank. That's all. And even that wouldn't probably be fair because he go look this is my First Amendment right to speak the way I want to speak? Maria suarez, Hillsborough, North Carolina. Hi, Bill. I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm 15 years old and I've read the entire Killing series and both confronting books. Wow, Maria. Instead of taking a bus to school every morning, I take the car ride with my mom so we can listen to the audio of the books. It's our morning routine. Last week we missed you, and I'm glad you're back. I think you're one of the most informed people around. Mon Maria, very bright at 15, reading all of my books. Whoa. She got a great future. And I very much appreciate your kind words. In a moment, something you might not know. Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. It is officially Groundhog day in the USA, a bizarre tradition that began nearly 140 years ago. Here's the story behind America's first rodent meteorologist. Groundhog Day has its roots in an ancient Christian festival. In early February, candles were distributed at churches across Ireland to help families light their homes for the rest of the winter. Some believed they could see the future in the flames of those candles. Germans expanded on the concept by selecting an animal, the lowly hedgehog. As Marines are predicting the arrival of spring after landing in North America, Bavarian settlers continued that tradition. Hedgehogs were scant in Pennsylvania, so groundhogs, which were plentiful, stepped in. The reclusive animal typically goes into hibernation each fall. They then emerge from their burrows when warmer weather returns. In 1887, a Pennsylvania newspaper editor conjured up a tale to entice tourists to the region. He claimed that Phil, a local groundhog, was America's only true weather forecasting rodent. On Feb. 2, Phil made his first public appearance to hundreds of spectators. After emerging from his hole, the animal saw its shadow. That informed the town that they must endure another six weeks of winter. Because Phil scurried back into his burrow, the holiday was widely celebrated until the 20th century. Then it lost its popularity. However, in 1993, a Bill Murray movie called Groundhog Day was a huge hit and revitalized the entire thing. Today, Groundhog Day is honored throughout North America. Other predictors include Dunkirk Dave in upstate New York, Ohio's Buckeye Chuck, Manitoba Merv in Canada, and General Beauregard Lee in Georgia. And then there is Monsieur Fred Mormont in Montreal. And here's something else you might not know. The groundhogs have a terrible record on predicting the weather. According to Farmers Almanac, they get it right just 30% of the time. Back in a moment. Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly update. I am Bill O'Reilly. No spin, just facts. And always looking out for you. Sa.
