Thank you, Bill. It is Monday, July 14, 2025. Here's this happening today in America. One year later, church shooting, getting rid of Jerome and Superman weekend results. It's all coming up. And Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, yesterday was the one year anniversary of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump, of course, was shot in the ear by a 20 year old who fired eight rounds from an AR15 from the roof of a nearby building, a very nearby building. Four seconds after he began shooting, a member of the Butler County Emergency Service Unit shot at him, hit his rifle, preventing him from firing more shots. Twelve seconds later, he was shot and killed by the counter sniper team of the US Secret Service. Of course you remember. Trump got back up and yelled to the crowd, fight, fight, fight. This was just two days before the Republican National Convention in Wisconsin. What a surreal time one year ago yesterday. Trump said to Lara Trump this weekend that there were a lot of mistakes made that day, but he was satisfied with the official answers as to what happened and that it wasn't a part of a larger plot. Quote, they had a bad day. They had a rough day. Two women were shot and killed at a church in Kentucky. The murderer shot a Kentucky State Police trooper, then fled to the church where he shot four more people before police were able to kill him. The two women who were killed were 72 and 36 years old. After shooting the trooper, he carjacked a vehicle and headed over to the church. Russ Vogt, the head of the Office of Management of Budget, wrote a letter implying that Jerome Powell, the chairman of the Federal Reserve, implying that Powell made false statements to Congress about the $2.5 billion renovation of three office buildings overlooking the national mall in D.C. or failed to comply with permitting rules around the Capitol area construction. Russ Votes said the cost overruns were horrifying. James Blair, who's a White House deputy chief of staff, said if it is found out that Chairman Powell did lie to Congress. I would think the board of Governors and the American people and the US Senate would have severe concerns about that. Worth noting. The chairman of the Fed can't be removed from office unless it's for cause. His term officially ends May 15, 2026. James Gunn's Superman opened with $122 million in America. It's good news for DC. Their three most recent movies were total flops overseas, not as good in 78 international markets, only $95 million. In China, it only grossed 6.6 million. Last week. The director claimed that Superman was an immigrant. He came here as a baby to Kansas, the heartland of America, to be raised with deep, profound American values. Superman's a far cry from Zoran Memdani. I'm Mike Slater. From Politics by faith, Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day next.

Message of the day on this Monday, keep your eye on big bad Vlad Putin. So my book Confronting Evil comes out September 9th. You can pre order it, of course, Billorilly.com, amazon, wherever Putin is on the COVID along with the Ayatollah Khomeini Matung and Adolf Hitler. And then inside, there are eight other heinous individuals that I write about. Now, why did Putin make the COVID Well, he is a psychopath. He will kill millions of people for no reason. Yes, the others did too. But this is a modern day situation with Putin. Now President Trump has to deal with him directly. The president believed he could persuade Putin to stop the Ukrainian invasion. That's what he believed. He did deal with Putin effectively in his first term. Trump did. But his optimism about Bad Vlad has not come true. And that is a big frustration for President Trump, believe me. So what's going to happen now? I don't know. I do believe that banking sanctions should be put on the Russians, that you can strangle their economy totally by telling worldwide banks and you are not to do business with Moscow. And if you do, then we will crush you, we being the EU and the United States. You gotta handle Putin. He's out of control. He's killing too many people. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billorilly.com bill@billoreilly.com name in town if you wish to opine. Now, let's go to the mail. Steven, concierge member, which means Stephen has direct access to me and my crew and we will help Stephen should anything happen to him. I don't think the average American cares about Biden's dementia. Most people just want to live. Sure, it affects their pocketbook, but do they care if the president is incapable of functioning? Probably not. I disagree. I think most people want a president who knows what is happening. I Hudson. Ian Hudson, Memphis, Tennessee. When will the new tax incentives and cuts take effect? Now. 2025. When you file? Next April. All it's in place right now. Chris Preston, Mount Prospect, Illinois. I enjoy reading all your books, Bill, and I find them very informative. I recently received an open letter from the executive director of a local homeless shelter that I volunteered with in the past, and he says that Trump's big, beautiful Bill will drive wages down and the cost of rent up. Okay, that's what he says. Is it true? No. Drive wages down. Why? So, number one, I applaud you for volunteering at a homeless shelter. Number two, this guy's a left winger. Now, if that matters to you, then you got to find another place to volunteer. If it doesn't, keep doing what you're doing. Lori, concierge member Comey and Brennan being called in to testify. I wonder what they know about the Epstein operation. Number one, they're not being called to testify. They're under investigation. Comey and Bren, they're not called to testify anywhere. They will have to answer some questions from the FBI, but that will be private. Epstein Operation. Comey. Yeah. You should know something about it. Brandon. No. In a moment, something you might not know.

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. 227 years ago today, one of the most egregious breaches of the U.S. constitution became federal law. The legislation placed severe restrictions on both free speech and civil liberties. Here is the story behind the sedition Act. On July 14, 1798, Congress passed a series of laws to, quote, protect the national interests of sovereign born citizens. The legislation specifically targeted new immigrants to the United States. The period of residency required before foreigners could apply for citizenship was extended from 5 to 14 years. The President gained the authority to detain and deport anyone deemed undesirable, no due process, in direct violation of the First Amendment. The act also permitted the criminal prosecution of any person who criticized the President of the United States. Said one supporter of the Sedition bill, quote, liberty of the press is calculated to destroy all confidence between man and man. Fourteen members of the press and politicians were ultimately prosecuted, some imprisoned under the Sedition Act. Both Thomas Jefferson and James Madison despised the legislation. President John Adams threatened to resign if the law was not revoked. Well, it was. The Sedition act eventually expired on March 3, 1801. And here's something else you might not know. Just one piece of legislation from the original act remains on the books. It was recently invoked by President Trump. On March 15, 2025, Trump used a provision called the Alien Enemies act to justify the deportation of international gang members who committed violent crimes. According to the president, the massive influx of undocumented people constitutes an invasion of our homeland. The Supreme Court ruled against Trump in May in a 7 to 2 decision. The justice has said illegal immigrants, even foreign gang members, are entitled to due process in the United States. Back after this. Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly update. I am Bill O'Reilly. No spin, just facts. And always looking out for you.
