Thank you, Bill. It is Tuesday, July 14, 2026. Here's what's happening today in America. Passing the seat addressed to the nation. Ice involved shooting and the Bison will always win. It's all coming up. Then. Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, Senator Lindsey Graham passed away on Saturday. It is now up to the governor of South Carolina to pick a replacement for his seat up until the end of his term. Now, Graham's term happens to end this year. He just won his party's primary for reelection just a couple weeks ago. So it's a quick vacancy. There will be a special election in the middle of August to find a new candidate to run in November. But who's going to fill the seat? Today the president offered his suggestion. He said, I recommended to Governor Henry McMaster, Lindsey Graham's wonderful sister, to serve as interim senator from the great state of South Carolina. This would be a fabulous tribute to Lindsey, who loved her dearly. And the governor did just that. Maybe it sounds like a weird choice at first until you learn, as I did the other day, that their parents died 15 months from each other when he was 22 and she was just 13. And Lindsay adopted his little sister to make sure that she was taken care of. The governor said Lindsay took care of his little sister and years long departed. It is my honor to ask his little sister to finish his work for him. Now the president said he will reimpose a naval blockade on Iranian ports and levy new charges on commercial ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz. He said all other countries will have fair and open use of the strait. He said America will become the guardian of the Strait of Hormuz and that, as a matter of fairness, will be reimbursed 20% the cost of cargo through this waterway in exchange for providing safe passage. He said we guarded the strait for 50 years and never got paid for it. We want to be reimbursed for this for putting our people in danger. The president will be making a speech to the nation Thursday night at 9 o' clock Eastern. Ice was involved in a shooting bid for just south of Portland, Maine. A man was in his vehicle when he was fatally shot by officers. Senator King said he was in a vehicle, pulled out in the vehicle and the term the Secretary of Homeland Security use was weaponized the vehicle and was shot by an ICE agent. The man who was shot was not the target of the operation, but ICE agents were given a final order for the man they were targeting to be removed from the country. You've seen the video by now of the man at Yellowstone getting tossed in the air by a bison. The man was walking with his grandson when the bison charged at him, threw him up in the air. Campers noticed the bison all by itself at a campsite and the man was walking with his grandson at a relatively reasonable distance and the bison just took off towards them. They started running around trees to get away. It didn't work. The 65 year old man will survive. He's had some surgeries worth noting. Bison are £2,000. They can run three times faster than humans and are unpredictable. I'm Mike Slater. From the podcast Politics by faith, Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day. Next.

Time now for the O'Reilly update message of the day on this Tuesday. I'm thinking about affordability. What exactly is that? Well, the Democratic Party believes it will win the midterm elections because essentials in the USA are too expensive. In many cases that's true. So what's the plan to combat high Prices, Dems, More taxes on working people. Progressives love high taxes. Will taking more of our money lead to lower prices? No, that's absurd. What's up Bernie Sanders and aoc what is your vision to solve affordability? Because I can't see it. As for the Republican party, it stands pretty much mute on high prices. With millions of Americans in personal debt right now, country really cannot afford the pipe dreams of the affordability crew or the silence from the gop. The root cause of unaffordable circumstances, failure to effectively manage your funds or to pursue better job opportunities. The USA is full of money making options. Wise up, get moving. There you go Bernie and aoc A strategy to deal with affordability. Karl Marx wouldn't like it, but it's real Life. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me bill@billorilly.com bill@billorilly.com name in town if you wish to opine now let's go to the mail. Tanya. Bill, I don't disagree with your advice about taking responsibility for your own financial stability. What I take issue with is your coverage of high prices. Trump versus Biden. When Biden brought on inflation, you covered it as 100% Biden's fault. You never said Americans who are hurting from inflation are stupid and lazy. But when Trump failed to solve inflation you were stating it's your own fault. There is a big difference. Number one, I didn't hammer Biden about inflation because it wasn't bad, it was 4%. What I hammered him on was a wasteful spending okay. Number two, my comments about your financial responsibility to yourself, Tanya, have nothing to do with Trump and Biden. It's you. It's you protect yourself. And there are many, many ways to do it. But people are scared or they're lazy or whatever they may be. Not a political statement, Ralph. Concierge, remember had to laugh at the anti capitalist group. Who do you think provides jobs and pays taxes but the government can do that. That's what Mamdani and AOC and Bernie Sanders want. They want to provide the jobs because that controls you. Now if you'd like to become a concierge member, you get a transcript of everything I say. So there's no like miscommunication. Something you might not know. Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. 228 years ago today, the US Congress passed one of the most egregious violations of the Constitution in American history. The controversial legislation endangered liberties for everyone living in the USA. Here's the story behind the Sedition Act. On July 14, 1798, Alexander Hamilton and some nationalist politicians took advantage of the public's fear of outsiders. They passed the Alien and Sedition Acts. The legislation targeted new immigrants to America. The period of residency required before foreigners could apply for citizenship was extended from 5 to 14 years. The President gained the power to detain and deport anyone deemed an enemy of the state. Due process went flying out the window in direct violation of the Constitution's First Amendment. The act also permitted the prosecution of any person who voiced or printed derogatory comments about the government. Said one supporter of the bill, quote, liberty of the press, end of opinion is calculated to destroy all confidence between man and man, unquote. Fourteen politicians were ultimately prosecuted under the law, some in prison. Both Thomas Jefferson and James Madison were fierce critics of the legislation, claiming the bill violated the first and Tenth Amendments, which it did. President John Adams threatened to resign if the legislation was not rescinded under the incoming administration of Thomas Jefferson. The Sedition act eventually expired on March 3, 1801. But here's something else you might not know. The law made a brief comeback in the 20th century. President Woodrow Wilson, in conjunction with congressional leaders and some newspapers, passed another sedition act in 1918 to silence critics of World War I. Like the original, it was canceled two years later. Back in a moment. Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly update. I am Bill O'Reilly. No spin, just facts. And always listen. Looking out for you.
